changing Sparrow’s given name because I can, and also debating about changing her wish at the end of the game to Love because this whole playthrough she’s inhabited the middle ground on purity/corruption and good/evil, so would she actually have it in her to make that ultimate sacrifice if it meant having her family back...?
I mean, I’d probably go with it not going Quite Right and Alex and Thane remaining dead because Sparrow was so changed by the Spire that she couldn’t love them like she did before and so the Spire said ‘welp you don’t love them so they don’t count lmao’ but she gets Rose and Archie back. Except Rose is still a young girl and Archie is an old dog, and nothing is the same anymore. A few years later and he passes away all over again.
And sure, she fulfills Rose’s dream of living in a castle by taking over Castle Fairfax, but the tower haunts them and Rose can’t stand seeing all of Sparrow’s guns. For Sparrow, being a gunslinger is reclaiming her power from Lucien and turning it on him, but for Rose, guns remind her of the night she died and they’re terrifying to her. And eventually she grows up and sets out to make a life for herself, and Sparrow is alone again in this castle that she hates.
She wished for love only for it to slip through her fingers.

She couldn't even remember anymore how disgusted she'd been with him. All those days where she stood protesting outside his company's headquarters, berating him about all those who suffered to keep him wealthy. He never knew exactly why she'd agreed to the first dinner - though he suspected deep down she'd never been as principled as she acted - but after she downed nearly three bottles of his special sparkling rosé her mind was basically mush. That stuff could have turned mother theresa into a greedy brat, but she took to it especially well. He suspected by the end of that night she could feel it changing her, and drank more just to keep the rush. Now it was four months later, and she spent her days complaining that he didn't do more to maximize his profits. Even though he already had more money than she could ever spend, she got wet just thinking about how much more suffering could be caused for her pleasure. She was a perfect loyal trophy for him, and happier than ever.

Secret Santa With Steven
pairing: Steven Grant x Reader
Tumblr media
summary: you and Steven are colleagues. You exchange Secret Santa gifts.
word count: 1.6K
IMPORTANT A/N: I am very aware Moon Knight/Steven are Jewish, and therefore do not celebrate Christmas, which is why this fic does not include him actually celebrating the holiday, but just participating in a Secret Santa.
I hope this doesn't come across as disrespectful, I just know how hard Christmas can be for some people and I hope that a fic including Steven, a comfort character, may help. If it is offensive in any way I will remove the fic immediately.
-
It was the last day of work before Christmas and you were ecstatic.
Last night it had begun to snow outside and by the morning the roads and streets were covered in the stuff. The view from your window looked like a winter wonderland.
And even though you left the house that morning with multiple layers on, and a chill in your fingertips, you still went to work with a smile. After all, it was the big day.
The day you and your colleagues exchanged Secret Santa gifts.
You hadn't been working at the museum long, maybe six months in fact, but your colleagues quickly became like a second family. Well, most of them anyway. Your boss Donna wasn't the friendliest of people, but your colleagues joint fear towards her was something that brought you together.
Now, it was the end of the day - the museum was closed to tourists, the lights were off and the security team had headed home for the holidays.
"Are we all here?" Donna sighed, glancing at her wrist-watch.
Even people who hadn't been on shift that day had arrived for the occasion, and while you all sat in the staff canteen you did a quick headcount.
The staff canteen had two rows of individual tables, each with two chairs sat opposite one another. You were sat alone.
There was Jim and Theresa, the gang who worked in the gift shop. The other tour guides, people who manned different exhibitions and rooms. And there was one person missing.
"Actually, Steven's not here yet." You piped up, answering Donna's question.
"Steven?" Donna rolled her eyes, "Of course it's him that's late. He's got another ten minutes or I'm starting without him."
You thought Donna's words were a bit harsh, after all she was the one who forced him into joining in on the Secret Santa festivities. The poor guy didn't even celebrate Christmas. You felt bad for him, and you absentmindedly starting playing with the ribbon you had tied around your present.
We can't start without him though, you thought, I'm his secret Santa.
And you had been excited about it too.
You had been one of the first people to pull a name from the box, hoping you didn't accidentally pick out your own, and you hadn't. Instead, you had picked Steven's.
"Who did you get?" He had asked during your shared lunch break after you'd picked his name.
Between bites of food you had said, "If I tell you, it wouldn't be much of a secret, would it?"
You had laughed at him, not in a mean way of course. It was just because Steven always made you laugh, without him even trying to.
He gave a small smile, "Oh right, yeah. Forgot that."
And then you had felt bad - because that's when you remembered.
"I guess you don't usually celebrate this stuff, right?" You asked and he had nodded.
"Well not really. But Donna she's persistent, kind of scary, actually. I couldn't say no." You knew how that felt; Donna was one boss you didn't want to mess with.
"And," he continued, "once I saw who I got, I thought getting them a gift wouldn't be too bad." He smiled at you and you thought about how kind and caring he was. "That's nice of you, Steven." You had said, "But don't tell me anymore. It's a secret Santa, remember?"
After that conversation you had spent every waking minute trying to find the right present - you knew he was a massive Egyptian mythology nerd, knew he had a goldfish. You even knew that he was vegan, and his favourite chocolates cane from a store down the road.
But, you hadn't wanted to get him something generic or boring. When you had told a friend about it they had suggested buying Steven a copy of 'Night at the Museum'. You had told your friend that was an insult to to Steven's intelligence.
So, you went above and beyond.
You went to the library and scoured through their mythology section. There you found a book Steven often referred to. In the front page you could see how often he checked the book out - at least once a month.
"Where can I buy this book?" You had asked, slamming the heavy, well-read book onto the librarian's desk.
She had given you all the information she could, and then you were on the hunt. It took two weeks of communicating with a rare-book seller to finally get hold of the thing, and then another week for it to arrive in the post.
It had arrived yesterday and you had spent the evening wrapping it to perfection.
The canteen door swung open.
"Sorry I'm late," Steven came in wrapped up in his winter coat and scarf, "I'm here now."
There were a few mumbles of appreciation, some of annoyance, from the rest of your colleagues.
You watched how his eyes scanned the room for a spare seat, and how his face lit up when he saw there was one spare opposite yours.
"Do you mind?" He asked, gesturing to the chair.
"Not at all." You smiled at him, moving your hand to cover the present's tag with Steven's name on it.
You noticed how he didn't have a present on hand, and you wondered if Steven - sometimes clumsy and forgetful Steven - hadn't remembered to bring a gift.
"Cold out, innit?" He asked, blowing on his hands for warmth.
"Freezing." You replied. The urge to get your gloves out from your coat pocket and give them to him was almost overpowering. Then, Steven glanced at the gift under your hands and another urge took over, one that wanted to tell Steven that you were his secret Santa and he deserved the world, not just one gift.
"Right." Donna's loud voice cut through your thoughts like a knife. "Everyone eyes closed and presents on the table. I'm gonna switch them all."
You looked at Steven, who was already looking at you. He shrugged, cheeks slightly aflush, and closed his eyes.
You closed yours, still wondering if Steven had brought a gift for someone or not.
Donna went around the room. He heels against the floor were the only sounds you could hear.
"If I see you peaking, " she announced, "I'll deduct a day's wages and put you on inventory for a week." Even at Christmas, Donna was mean. She was a Scrooge, all year round.
You heard her approach your table, felt her pick up your present. She moved towards Steven, "Interesting choice, Stevie."
You were dying to know what her comment meant but you didn't dare open your eyes. Instead you kept them shut tight. There were a few minutes more of hustling and bustling then Donna's voice: "Open your eyes and presents. Go on. Merry Christmas or whatever."
Wasting no time, with the anticipation practically killing you, you opened your eyes.
Infront of you was a small, red envelope with your name written neatly on the front. You looked around the room briefly, watching everyone tear into wrapping paper like they'd never received a Christmas present in their life.
Even Steven was beginning to peel away the sticky tape from one of the edges. His cheeks were a glorious shade of pink.
You went for it.
Inside the envelope was a small card. It was a luxurious business card of an expensive restaurant nearby, with a time and date printed in a fancy font. The bottom of the card read 'table for two'.
You were astonished. It was a gorgeous restaurant, one where reservations were hard to come by because it was so popular.
Once again you scanned the room, hoping for any sign of your secret Santa so you could thank them.
You didn't have a partner or any family close by to join you for this table for two, but you were sure it would be easy enough for you to change the booking. It wasn't like your secret Santa could've known these things.
"I hope it's okay." Steven said suddenly. He hadn't opened his present yet, he had only unpeeled a corner.
"Sorry?" You asked.
"I uh, hope it's not too presumptuous of me." He spoke fast, "The reservation."
There was a beat of silence, then he continued, "I can cancel it if you want."
Your face felt warm, "This was you? Thank you, Steven, honestly!"
"It's for the both of us." He wouldn't look at you, "Only if that's what you want."
Finally the realisation of all his rambling hit you, and your heart involuntarily did a funny dance, one that you were used to when you were around Steven. "Oh my gosh, yes. That would be brilliant, Steven. Sounds like a date."
He looked at you then, all brown, adoring eyes. He smiled, wide.
"You haven't even opened yours yet." You prompted, trying to take the attention away from yourself.
You hoped you weren't blushing as much as you thought you were.
"Oh yeah...is this from you?" He asked, gently stroking the wrapping paper.
"Yeah it is. I know you don't celebrate it and all that, but Merry Christmas, Steven. This is my gift to you." His eyes lit up at that, as if those six words were the greatest gift of all.
"Thank you, Y/N."
Steven ripped the wrapping paper then, revealing the present you had spent so long trying to acquire.
"Oh my- this is amazing!" His voice was full of joy, "I can't believe you got this for me!"
Without even flicking through the book Steven stood up and moved towards you. You instinctively stood up and Steven embraced you in a hug. He was warm like jasmin and vanilla.
From somewhere in the room you heard a "finally".
You pulled away from Steven to find the room staring at you, all of them grinning like Cheshire cats.
Donna rolled her eyes, but there was a small smirk on her lips, "About time."

Welp. I did it again [RC9GN Infection AU]
The never-ending brainrot on this stupid show is going to be the end of me. Honestly, this is just me being hyperfixated on post-apoc universes and the fact that I will make things dark on a whim because I just felt like it (I'm sure I'm not the first to make an rc9gn infection au, so in the off chance my idea sounds like someone else's- i apologize)
Thoughts on Infection Lore
Honestly, to make this fully work- it's essentially a more 'progressed' version of stanks; someone who becomes corrupted by the Sorcerer now suddenly becomes a mindless monster (if you are susceptible enough, not everyone will remain stuck as one- don't question this right now)
My personal take is this; not everyone who's been stanked will be infected, but certain people will be placed at risk due to the following:
~ people who have less obvious ways to be destanked are placed at risk
(long author's version: those who have 'unfinished business' and are still dealing with the inner turmoil of whatever stanked them in the first place will be infected, remaining stuck as a monster for longer periods of time.)
~ after a certain amount of days have passed by (if the person hasn't been destanked by then), they will remain permanently stuck as the monster; the way i see it is the sorcerer's a powerful foe and increased the power in his stanks which makes it an even bigger problem when no one knows what caused the transformation - i feel more than it being fueled by fear, it's a multitude of different things at once - and essentially, it corrupts the individual
~ deterioration is an unwelcome side effect (some people only have the 'essence' of the stank, so to speak, in them- and it causes deterioration to the body, consuming the negative thoughts before it triggers the stanking)
~ the mind becomes a lot more animalistic in nature and once it reaches a certain point, there is no going back- destanking won't work, and the individual is simply stuck as a rampaging monster
(author's cut: i need to flesh this out bc this will follow a slightly different route than what i've done before when it comes to the infection au; one thing to note though is things like being a carrier or having immunity do still exist-)
Character Thoughts
I'm going to do this in-reverse; starting with the villains - McFist and Viceroy - at this point, the duo aren't working for the Sorcerer anymore; if anything, they are on their own- attempting to seek refuge within the McFist Industries building, but they can hole up there for so long. McFist has ceased trying to get revenge on the Ninja completely ceased, and Viceroy is simply attempting to figure out the best course of action on keeping both of them from being attacked- (I definitely see them becoming important somehow, but for now this is what I'm working with) [small author's note: Bash and Marci are there, i'm not as mean as to separate them... yet)
The Sorcerer's role in this is ridiculously major and will come into play as the story progresses- (not entirely how just yet, but honestly i might have to retcon the information from season 2 for this to work, just bear with me here)
Not all of the high school students will be important because genuinely I do not have the attention span- and this will be focusing on a specific group/party, not everyone or I would go insane (as if I don't already have other ideas to flesh out) [author's cut: some will be stanked, the rest will be there for different reasons]
Now, to cover the main group-
For starters, we have our girls - Heidi, Debbie, and Theresa - who will be something of a power trio; Debbie definitely is something of a pack leader- she takes charge, and Heidi backs her up in things but of course that leaves Theresa as moral support (though this girl deserves to have her moment to shine; however, in order to keep things on the down low for now, well, this pup ain't talking /lh)
I plan on keeping Heidi, Debbie, and Theresa as the first group- they're not going to be meeting with the rest of the party until things start escalating in intensity; again, no spoilers- this idea for now, is a WIP and I just want to see who might be interested
Then of course, we have the boys - Randy, Howard, and Julian; the way I see it this takes place after a stank incident gone wrong, because apparently the person doesn't transform back (and there's something off, something not-human- like they're not present anymore)
Howard forces Randy to run, knowing there's nothing that can be done- (more people become prone to the Sorcerer's doing- corrupting those unfortunate enough to get too close); though things are going to get so, so much worse. This part isn't necessarily spoilers but I do see one particular stank incident getting worse, and well- to not spoil too much again, someone becomes hurt and the duo are forced into hiding. Julian enters the picture, and you have this trio now facing a threat none of them thought was possible (stanks are one thing, not understanding why they still won't turn back is an entirely different story)
Randy becomes desperate to fix things- but he doesn't want to hurt anyone; surely, there has to be a way to return everything back to normal [author's cut: i have so many plans for this boy, and i do intend to make things difficult]
As for Howard, he learns to assume a sort-of second-in-command status (but i'm going to cause tension, and it's going to be a thing until i kick in new elements in)
Julian, though, my sweet summer child- is weirdly thriving in this environment (but he is also going through it a little- this still has post-apoc elements keep that in mind)
With Randy and the Nomicon, however, hoo boy do I have plans I can't share just yet- however, I will say complications arise esp. considering there's more going on (communications may be cut, is all i'm saying; details still in the works)
Relationship Thoughts
So far, everyone will remain strictly platonic but- I do plan on creating a team-like dynamic between the main six;
~ Randy and Julian do become closer- I honestly feel there was a lot of robbed potential in their relationship esp. following the s2 finale
(author's cut: Julian as part of the informed team of the Ninja would have been such a neat element. Also, the fact he was in the Land of Shadows, but I'm getting sidetracked- seriously, there's going to be an expanded upon relationship between Randy and Julian; also sidetracked comment: Randy and Howard should have stayed members of Der Monster Klub, def not because it parallels D&D no-)
~ I also want Randy and Debbie to become closer because hoo boy, there is again- a lot of potential with them. There's something specific I'm aiming for here and I can only hope I do it correctly-
(another small author's cut: Debbie will need to accept exposing the Ninja is not something that can be her only end goal, there's something much bigger happening; something she couldn't even fathom- but of course, when have i ever made things easy for the main cast /lh)
This post is getting insanely long, but honestly let's just wrap things up with the usual ending;
Under-the-Cut Details
~ this little bit of information is what has me brainrotting over an au literally no one asked for: permanent stanks is literally like dealing with a wild animal; having to make a tough decision due to this is what i'm aiming for here. good luck
~ this is a mature horror-based genre, do not go into this thinking it'll be lighthearted because this is the exact opposite
~ i don't see the nine realms being a large part of the au, and if you do want to see more of this- i'd just recommend checking out the fanon plans i have for the would've-been season three and beyond-
~ i'm sure some of you will be curious on how the infection/"virus" will affect Randy and the answer to that, well, is you'll just have to wait and find out- no one is going to be having a good time and that does include him, have fun
~ in regard to the tengu- honestly, you will see this being a thing- but how? you'll just have to wait and see
(author's cut: this is currently a Work in Progress (WIP); genuinely this will be a darker outlook on the series as a whole, given this is literally post-apoc and covers what could easily be dark magic, but also- intense feelings of paranoia, spiraling negative emotions, and more...
there's going to be a lot happening, but for now this is all i can provide- the non-spoilers edition)
To wrap up some of the things again,
Group 1 - Debbie, Theresa, and Heidi (currently separated from the boys - decided to try and take shelter at the high school, planned reunion in later arcs)
Group 2 - Randy, Howard, and Julian (presumed missing - were also separated from the others; managed to escape during a dangerous stank attack)
Group 3 - Viceroy, McFist, Marci, and Bash (currently seeking refuge at McFist Industries; Viceroy has been attempting to ward off any threats using his inventions but for how long will this work?)

Happy Friday! From the platonic intimacy prompts - sender suddenly hugs the receiver for Theresa and whoever among her inner circle might be most surprised by a hug!
Happy @dadrunkwriting! This ended up being super cute, so thank you for this! Theresa explains hugs to Cole, though not in so many words.
“Inquisitor.”  “Hello Cole.” Theresa is hardly surprised anymore when the spirit makes his sudden appearances, merely considers herself grateful that he’s learned not to do so during inopportune moments. The last time he popped in on Bull and Dorian, she’d been saddled for days with his endless questions about aspects of her friends’ sex lives that were, frankly, none of her business.  This time, the only thing he’s interrupting is her nightly ritual of reading the day’s reports. And that’s a task she’s always more than happy to be distracted from. So it’s without malice or annoyance that she glances up from the letters in her lap to meet his questioning eyes.  “How can someone be starved of touch?”  Ah. “You’ve been listening to my thoughts again, have you?” “You said I could.”  She smiles at the wary defensiveness in his voice, as though he expects her to retract her permission at any moment. “That I did. Don’t worry, you’ve done nothing wrong.”  Truthfully, she considered it good practice for herself, to remember to clear her mind before sleep. It didn’t prevent all her nightmares, but it did help her sleep longer and deeper. And she had more motivation to have a clear mind if she knew someone was listening in. And when Cole still managed to slip through, well, better her to answer probing questions than her other companions.  “We mortals are social creatures,” she explains for his benefit. “If we go too long without physical contact with others, our bodies begin to miss it just as much as our hearts.”  “I understand, I think.” He tilts his head to look down at his palms, brushing his fingers over one with a thoughtful frown. “You become demons. But you stay yourselves.”  Theresa blinks, then smiles. “Yes, it’s a bit like that. Everyone will react differently, and it will take longer for some than others. Some may never feel it, or will feel it less. And some…”  “Some feel it more.” He looks up, glassy eyes seeing through her. “You don’t let yourself feel it, because you’re afraid of missing it too much. Afraid it will matter more than the light that burns you.”  Theresa grits her teeth and blinks back tears, forcing a smile. A face comes to mind, the one she’d been picturing while reading his words, when Cole had interrupted her. She’s holding his words in her lap still. Blunt and honest script, to match his language.  “Golden words, golden eyes, golden hair,” Cole intones. “He shines, and you’re afraid to dull him.”  “Yes,” she whispers, harsher than intended.  “Why is it in your heart?” he asks, and in her confusion, her heartache is temporarily forgotten.  “Why is what in my heart?”  “The ache. If you’re starved, shouldn’t it be in your stomach?” He lays a hand over his own stomach, frowning down at it as though it will explain things for him.  Theresa laughs. A sudden surge of affection pulls her to her feet, and in a flash she’s wrapped her arms around Cole’s shoulders and hugging him fiercely. He makes a surprised exclamation, and she releases him, just in case. But he’s not upset. In fact, he’s smiling.  “Is that what you miss?” he asks, almost shyly.  “Yes.”  “I think I understand better, now.”  She returns his smile. “I’m happy to help.”  “Me too.”

Teehee I wrote more fanfic of @thekoopalingsandstuffs AU ÒwÓ
I've been particularly wanting to write some stuff about small supernatural occurances involving Dieter, and I guess this serves as a prequel to Dear Dieter. ^^
Check below the cut! ;]
Goodbye, Dieter
"Are you sure we should be messing with the dead?" "It's just a little piece of wood," Iggy replied while getting out an ouija board from his disaster area of which he called a bedroom. "But... What if we summon a ghost?" He trembled a little as he spoke. Iggy spun around and gave a small guffaw. "So what? You're not afraid of ghosts, are you?" He gave no response, and only stared at Rango. He knew Rango wouldn't protest against his boyfriend.
The three set the board up and began the séance in the living room. It was the night of Halloween- or more technically, the early morning after. Spewart recalled that in cultural studies, today was la Día de Los Niños, and tomorrow would be Día de Los Muertos. These were both Mexican holidays of honouring the dead and celebrating the life they had lived. Using an ouija board, he felt, was not only disrespectful but also a bad omen generally. Yet here he was, using one with Rango and Iggy.
He was only here because the other two just happened to be awake. Iggy was supposedly "bored" and wanted to sneak out with Rango to a hotel, but Rango, having fallen ill, was too tired to be intimate. Yet, wanted to keep Iggy company by staying awake? It made no sense. Roy was also technically awake, but he was watching TV and wanted no part in whatever Iggy was up to. As for Spewart, he couldn't sleep. Insomnia and night terrors stressed him out, made his stomach hurt even more than it already did on a regular basis. Anything to take his mind off of Dieter was a blessing, though, he wasn't exactly sure if this was his idea of such--
"Hello, is anyone there?" Iggy began. No response. "Guess there's no spirits," Spewart meekly chuckled. "Try holding the thing," Rango piped in. With a sigh, Spewart placed his hands on the planchette. "Is anyone there?" Iggy repeated this at least four times, but each time was met with silence. "One of you try," he snipped. Spewart was about to protest the attitude, but was interrupted by Rango. "Hello-o-o? Anyone ho-o-ome?" Iggy started laughing, leaving the other two confused for a moment, before the planchette started to slowly move to "yes". The three grew silent.
"What should we say?" Iggy thought. "Ask for its gender." "Gender?" Spewart found himself saying. "Why does their gender matter?" Iggy shrugged. "Are you a boy or a girl?" Rango asked. "Or non binary. They could be non binary. Maybe we should've asked for their pronouns..." Iggy rolled his eyes. A pause went by before the planchette moved. B-O-Y. "A male spirit..." "Wonder if he's gay," Iggy snickered. Spewart groaned before deciding to ask a question. "How old are you?" No response. "I guess he doesn't like you," Iggy laughed.
Suddenly, the planchette jerked to the "T". They all stared.
"Is he spelling out his age?" H. "Thirteen? Thirty? THREE?" "Iggy, shut up," Roy muttered from the couch. E. The three quietly blinked. "The? The what?" R. "There?" "Iggy." Roy turned his head. "Keep your voice down. Literally everyone is sleeping." Iggy stuck his tongue out. E. S. A. Spewart felt his blood turn cold, and as he slowly glanced upwards, he could tell Rango had the same response. "Theresa?" Iggy sneered. "What kind of response is that? That's not a number at all." A long pause went by. "Dieter?" Rango squeaked with a tremble. "Are you... Dieter?" A pause. The planchette slowly crept to yes.
"I want to leave, I don't want to do this anymore-" Spewart stood before Rango took his hand. "Wait. If you don't say goodbye to him, he may be stuck in this realm. We should say goodbye first." It wasn't promising, but it sounded better than being haunted by Dieter. He slowly sat back down. "Are you dead?" Rango resumed. "No fucking duh he's dead," Iggy laughed while elbowing Rango's side. Rango gave a meek chuckle and laughed it off as a joke.
"Are you mad at me, Dieter?" Spewart whimpered. A very long moment of silence went by. He was frightened. What if he said yes? What if he wanted him dead too after what Ludwig did? He was an accomplice, after all! He helped hide the body in the river, and-- The planchette jerked to no. A wave of relief went over him. "Why would he be mad at you?" Rango asked while tilting his head. "Forget that, how do you two even know who he is?" Before Rango could respond, the planchette slid to I. Then to M. I. S. It slid around a bit before landing on S again. Y. O. U. Spewart knew that was for him.
"I miss you too, Dee," he softly sighed. He didn't neccesarily miss Dieter... but he was unsettled by the fact that he was gone. Iggy yawned. "I'm getting tired. Let's say goodnight to it." Rango nodded. "We have to go now. Goodbye, Dieter." The plancette quickly slid to no. They were all confused. "Why won't you leave?" Iggy impatiently grumbled. The planchette spelt out Theresa again. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?" "He wants Spewey to say goodbye." A shiver went down Spewart's spine before he drew a breath. "We have to go now," he said. "Goodbye, Dieter." A pause went by before the planchette crept once more. Goodbye.
Iggy stood and stretched. "That was boring," he grumbled while taking the board and planchette. "I'm sleeping. Good night." "Good night!" Rango chimed. "I love you!" He was met with no response before sighing and turning to Spewart.
"Spewey?" "Hm?" "Why would Dieter be mad at you?" Spewart blinked before sighing, and he began to explain...

Where CANON and FANON collide!
FANON speculation for season 7
Buddie Multi-Chapter Fanfic - Hiatus Reading: “I’m still in love with you but... I needed to learn how to love myself too!”
Chapter 10 will be posted soon.
Tumblr media
I’m excited to finish writing Chapter 10 because a lot is happening and there's still more to come. At the end of Chapter 9, Buck and Eddie were trying to cope with everything that happened during and after Jonah's criminal trial. At the end of day two, Buck had a major panic attack, he asked Eddie to get him out of the courthouse and Eddie drove them home instead of taking Buck back to the loft. Then Buck scheduled an emergency therapy appointment with Dr. Copeland and later that night, after Chris and Buck were already asleep, Eddie spent time trying to decide if he should make an emergency appointment with Frank instead of scheduling one with his new therapist, Dr. Theresa because Frank's a trauma therapist and she's not. He was strongly considering it since both him and Buck were faced yet again with additional ramifications from the shooting.
___________
As a continuation of my WIP Wednesday, here’s a little more of Buck’s conversation with Rhett and Eddie’s conversation with Bertie.
___________
Buck
“Now… if you swipe to the left, I think… well it’s either left or right who knows with all this new fandangle technology… you’ll see a picture of me and my husband.”
Buck swipes left in the photos app and he sees Rhett in a photo with a very handsome man.  If he didn’t know any better, he’d think it was a picture of him and Eddie because the man in the picture standing next to Rhett has dark hair, brown eyes and olive skin just like Eddie.
“You have a beautiful family.”  Buck says as he hands Rhett’s phone back to him.
“Yeah, we did.  Me and Ray…”  Rhett chuckles then continues.  “His real name was Raymundo but after he left his parents’ house, he wouldn’t let anyone call him that anymore.  We didn’t get married until nine years ago but by that time… we’d already been together for more than forty years.  Even though we didn’t need a piece of paper to tell us how much we loved each other, we wanted it… so we had a small wedding in our backyard with our son and his family.  Getting married also allowed me to change my last name from Quinn to Dominquez… it’s on our marriage license and it’s still hanging up in our home today.  I looked at it before I left to come here.”
Buck’s hit with another realization because he knows he’s been wanting to marry Eddie for years but he’s still not sure Eddie wants him so he tucks the little hope he has back into the corner of his heart.
“You didn’t want to keep your last name?”
“No, I didn’t because the last name Quinn didn’t hold anything but hurt and pain for me.  I grew up in an ok family but my parents weren’t ready to be a mom and a dad and I suppose, it affected how emotionally detached they were.  I don’t blame them for it anymore but finally being able to take my husband’s last name after 40 years of us being together was the best because me, him and our son all had the same last name.”
Buck nods his head because the last name Buckley certainly doesn’t mean shit to him anymore.  That’s Phillip’s last name not his and he’s been trying to figure out what he should change it to.  Diaz has a nice ring to it but he’d have to marry Eddie first for that to happen and since he hasn’t told him how he feels, he doesn’t think it ever will.
Where is Buck?  Also, who is Rhett and why is he telling Buck about his life?
_____
Eddie
After they leave the hospital and they get back inside of the ambulance, it only takes Bertie a few seconds to mention something about Loni.
She closes the driver’s side door, looks at Eddie then says, “She lives on the outskirts of Los Angeles and if anything ever happens to the solitary road that leads to her house, no one will be able to get to her”.
He shrugs his shoulders then says, “Well… she said she likes living out there and she likes the peace and quiet”.
“Yeah, she did say that and she also said the reason why she did it was because she figured she wouldn’t find love again.  So, maybe her decision to live all the way out in an area of Los Angeles that resembles ‘Death Valley’ wasn’t completely about her desire to live in peace and quiet.”
She turns her head to crank the ambulance, then she looks over at Eddie again.  “Some people choose to be alone while others feel like it’s their only option.  Neither choice is wrong but if someone doesn’t want to die alone, they don’t have to”.
Almost immediately after the words leave Bertie’s lips, Eddie feels like someone is screaming at him even though he’ll never admit it’s the universe.  Over the last few days, several people have told him things that remind him of that Geoffrey Chaucer quote, “Time and tide wait for no man” and he realizes he might be running out of time to have a conversation with Buck.
Who is Bertie?  Why is Eddie partnered with her and will he listen to the things she's saying?

Chapter 3 -After more than a month, Buck and Eddie finally spend time together outside of work but it doesn’t end well and they part with a lot of uncertainty regarding their places in each other’s lives.
Chapter 4 - Eddie has a few realizations about his life which causes him to consider moving back to El Paso, TX while Buck continues to be reminded of his past which causes him to take an impromptu road trip across America.

Chapter 6 - More than two weeks after Buck pushed Eddie away after suggesting they needed a break; Eddie decides to try again. Eddie’s there for Buck when he’s at his worst just like Buck was there for him when he was at his worst and he won’t let Buck give up.
Chapter 7 - After Buck’s mental breakdown, Eddie has his back the same way Buck had his when he had his own breakdown more than a year ago.  They share several vulnerable and emotionally intimate moments with one another and they begin to realize their small, sweet and caring gestures matter just as much if not more than any grand gesture ever could because these are part of the foundation when a couple builds a long-lasting love relationship.
Chapter 8 - Buck, Eddie and Chris all have their own therapists and during their sessions, they reflect on their pasts while they’re in the present so they can prepare for their future together as a family.
Chapter 9 - Buck and Eddie are there for each other when Buck has to testify as a witness during the trial.  But by the end of it, they’ll both realize their individual and shared traumas are going to keep resurfacing until they talk about them, deal with the fact that they’re in love with one another and face the fact that they can’t live without each other.
Chapter 10 - Will be posted soon.
__________
I’m enjoying writing this fic because it’s giving me the chance to unravel the mess that was the 6x18 ending for Buck, Eddie and Chris.  Also, it’s taking them places the show refuses to go including Buck finally having a mental breakdown and Eddie being there for him the same way he was there for Eddie in season 5.

Some more sim settlements shenanigans featuring one mister Jake Evans.
Error. Jake.exe has stopped working
Not super nsfw but I’ll put it under the cut anyway.
(Hint: wet tee shirt)
“Hey…um Jake? I think Annie might need your help in her quarters…”
Jake looked up from the comm array, neck and back tight from being constantly hunched over,
He was gonna have to stretch before bed again. He looked over at Lupe who called to him,
“Hmm, what she need now?”
“Her shower is leaking. I guess it won’t shut off. She said something about too much pressure to the top floors.”
“That ain’t an emergency, can you tell her to wait? I finally made contact with folks in Country Crossing and they’re having some kind of rash out break from their water. Got a feeling it’s their filters and I’m trying to walk ’em through the process o’ changing them…”
Lupe bit her lip and shrugged,
“I’ll tell her but she’s been annoyed by it since she got back. Just don’t forget ok.”
Jake held back an eye roll, not at Annie, just it feels like he’s always fixing something. Seems to never have down time for himself until it’s too late in the night to start anything but to just go to sleep.
Jake nodded hurriedly as he turned back to the comm array,
“I won’t forget especially if it’s a complaint from the Chief. Maybe remind me though after supper just incase.”
“You got it boss man.”
Supper came and went.
Jake patted his satisfied tummy twice before standing and leaving the cafeteria. Meatloaf with gravy and roasted carrots. Two cans of purified water plus he and Lupe split a fancy lad cake.
Jake walked back to his room, full and sleepy; but awake enough to read some Silver Shroud.
Shame he didn’t get to eat dinner with Annie. She usually joins him and Lupe when she’s staying at HQ; but she’s been busier than usual lately. Theresa, Aiden and Mansfield have been pulling her in all kinds of directions.
Dammit.
‘Forgot all about that shower of hers’.
He stood in the hall, close to his own quarters and debated if he should check it out real quick…
‘Nah. She would have come and got me if it was real bad. Just check it out in the mornin.’
And with a yawn, he continued to his little patch of privacy and turned in.
*the sound of water pipes crying deep in the walls, followed by a large POP!*
Jake awoke to the sound and had to focus to see if it was real or part of a dream. He heard a muffled cry and pleas for help.
It took a second, but once he registered the sounds of Annie breaking through the night, he bolted. Nothing but sweatpants and bare feet. He made his way to her room upstairs.
Aiden beat him to it and was trying to get her room unlocked.
“Dammit woman, why do you lock your door!” Aiden was messing with many keys on a large key ring. Annie was still yelling for someone to help her, her voice almost drowned out by what sounded like a hose on full blast.
“Just kick it open Aiden!” Jake was holding down panic. ‘Please be ok darlin’.
The right key was used and they were in. Her shower was off to the left and there she was; holding the threaded drop ear where the shower head had fallen off; water pulsating through the pipes.
“I CAN’T FIND THE MAIN!”
Her arms were over her head, trying in vein to keep the torrent from spilling anymore.
Aiden looked to Jake who was tapping his fingers to his forehead, thinking.
“Chop chop head of engineering.”
With a snap, Jake remembered,
“Main for the second floor is in a maintenance closet by the laundry rooms. Be right back!”
Jake took off and found the handle to the second level water main and with *eekk* it turned to tighten. The quiet that followed was instant. Now HQ was never totally silent, but this time of night was pretty sound.
Jake cursed under his breath. Yep. Another thing that would need fixing.
As he made his way back to Annie’s room, he could hear Aiden’s voice carry on with tones of his seriousness.
“Dammit Annie! I told you! Stop locking your door! You are very important here and if you need help, we need to be able to get to you. It’s bad enough you have that fire escape for anyone to try and break in with. I still can’t believe Jake built that for you. Reckless as usual.”
‘Huh? What’s he yelling at her now for?’ Aiden was always salty about something.
“Oh ok I’m not allowed some privacy in my own room? Jeeze Aiden the doors here don’t stay closed. I wake up with my door wide open every morning; for all of HQ to see. When I lock it, it stays shut.”
“I get that princess, I really do. But you put me in charge of security and since you won’t let me put a camera in your room,”
Aiden was talking with his hands now, trying to emphasize the need for compromise,
“The least you can do is give security access to you if you’re in danger.”
“First of all you put yourself in charge of security, I had nothing to do with that. Second I’m not incapable of protecting myself. Third, don’t call me princess.”
Aiden rolled his eye and shouted back annoyed,
“All I’m saying is it would only take one stealth trained gunner to slip in here via your stupid fire escape and inject you with a large dose of chems to end you. Do you get it now chief?”
Aiden paused, thinking his words would sink in.
“Tell her Jake. She’s your girlfriend…Jake?”
But Jake wasn’t listening.
This whole time he’s been stuck in place. Can’t move. Can hardly breathe.
Her bathroom had one light bulb, and bathed in its bright light stood his Annie.
She wasn’t naked and Jake had never seen her naked or nothing like that before; but she was wearing this little tank top. A white tank top…with no bra.
She was standing there arguing with Aiden, while her breasts jiggled under this wet, almost painted on shirt.
Jake would be lying if he said he never imagined himself with her. How she would feel around him. Plump, swollen breasts pressed against his chest…
*smack*
“Focus Romeo” Aiden lowered his hand and sighed handing Annie a towel. She was shivering and slowly wrapped herself up. A small meek smile on her face.
“You two are something else. Just fuck already and get it over with.” Aiden was on the way out only to be followed with,
“All the more reason to lock my door.”

Finding Courage
“I have had it, Archie!” Belle had enough.
She was tired of Archie always mocking and doubting her ever since she came to Olympus High.
“You told me I didn’t have what it takes to be a hero, but I’ll never be on the same level as Bellerophon?”
He crossed a line there when he said that.
“I have been training with Apollo and Ares, yes Ares, and we’ve just went through fire hoops on Pegasus.”
She wondered if Ares ever made Archie train in a swimming pool. She’d love to see the look on his face.
“I have tried my best to be apart of the team, and from what I’ve seen and heard, all you’ve done is brought everyone down.”
Archie raised his hands as Belle drew nearer to him. “Alright, alright, take it easy…”
The meek girl who took her first step into Olympus High wasn’t there anymore.
She was a full fledged hero.
Archie breathed. “I’m sorry. I’m just so used to the seven of us being together for this long. When you came, I thought everything was going to change. If you’d make or break us. Though you always had a place with us here on the team.”
It was going to be a while to see through what Archie did for the past few weeks, though this was some form of reconciliation.
“Thank you…” She breathed. “I’m glad we sorted this out.”
Theresa had been on the brunt of Archie’s snarky ways, so she consoled Belle whenever Archie said something.
Since Atlanta and Archie were a couple, Atlanta tried to bring peace between them both. After today, Atlanta wouldn’t have to choose between her friend and boyfriend.
Neil was at the door. “Are you alright? What you did took guts to stand up to Archie. I’m glad you did that.”
She breathed. “I’ll be fine.”
They hand their arms around each others’ shoulder.
Neil helped her through adjusting to Olympus High. When it came to squabbles on campus, or facing the might of Cronus, she was glad she could always count on Neil.
She didn’t know why, but if the world ended today, Neil’s arms would be the safest place to be.

For me, doing this is a great stress reliever, and I have had a lot of stress lately.  Also, my ADHD is not allowing me to give a simple answer to the question, I always have the urge to give the whole backstory, like what happened five centuries ago... So, my favourite dorks yet again. PruAus. Modern Times
Who carries all the important documents while traveling? Gilbert, as much as Austria can act like not clumsy person, he gets lost in his head. Especially when they are waiting, for example, in the airport, he would have the book opened, but he would be playing scenes in his head, not reading, so documents are not exactly safe with him.  Prussia, on the other hand, is organized in a practical manner; after all, someone had to teach it to Lutz, and for sure it wasn't Rod. Gilbert has everything neatly in order, and he also makes sure that Rod sits in one place and doesn't wander off in the big airports. [Seriously, guys, I got lost in Munich airport once; oh the stress.]
Who puts their cold hands/feet on the other? Of course, it is Gilbert. He has a thing for barging into Rod's safe place with different shenanigans. Every damn time he comes back from the cold, he tries to sneak up to Austria and touch him with those frozen fingers. And every time Roderich yells at him. At this point, it is basically a tradition.
What do they argue about the most? These days they actually try to talk to each other; it took centuries to achieve that. They used to quarrel about almost everything. Starting from Prussia's attempts to gain power within Holy Rome, different approaches towards German unification, Maris Theresa sitting on the Austrian throne—here Gilbert was rather prejudiced; he changed a lot since that time. Austria's way of dealing with minorities in the empire, the empire itself. Roderich's marriages, Ludwig's education. You name it, they had an argument about it. In the XXI century, they still argue sometimes. Gilbert still has thoughts that he is not needed anymore; Prussia was disolved, and granted, there are Teutonic Knights (in a way, the Order is existing; I am not going into details, but it is fascinating), but it bothers him sometimes and he becomes snappy. Roderich simply has no idea how to deal with a brooding Gilbert. He will say something like, get a grip, you are alive, and this will unleash the hell of all old resentment. The thing is, Roderich, despite losing the empire, still has a country to represent and has no idea about Gilbert's turmoil. Also, the sole thought of Gilbert not being here as a lover, friend, enemy, or whatever they are is unacceptable on so many levels that Roderich denies the possibility of even thinking about it. There is also one more thing that brings arguments: Gilbert tends to be jealous, though he knows it is stupid. As he started to live with Rod, he kind of saw the point. Roderich has no idea how to be alone; for him, Antonio and Liza are vital parts of his past and the few rare people he feels okay around (all the angsty things I have about spaus will come up eventually). Anyway, Gilbert didn't understand how Austria could be so at ease with his exes but not with him. During one of the arguments, when he managed to get Roderich to yell, he heard that Rod is simply scared that if he starts saying what he feels or wants, Prussia will leave, and he doesn't have to be afraid of Tony and Liz, as both relationships ended and both were political. Whatever he has with Gilbert is far more important.
Who is better with kids? Gilbert is more open towards kids; he treated Ludwig as a brother, not as a project. He was strict when it came to discipline, military training, and education, but from time to time he still made sure Ludwig was just a kid. Roderich is just awkward; he does not know how to talk with kids or how to play with them. Despite this, in very few moments, he would sit with little Feliciano and draw with him, or teach HRE how to play the piano. Those are rare good memories. In general, my headcanon is that neither of them is very good with kids, like the actual work you have when you have kids. How could they be good at this. There were always maids and babysitters, and they didn't grow up in regular Families.

are there any other historical figures you like I'm intrigued 👀
Okay buckle in, somehow this post will be weirder than any of my f1 stuff bcs for some reason I'm very intense about historical figures, I think I just have a tendency to treat them like blorbos
Mostly I'm endeared to powerful figures, idk why, it's the way it is. Okay so obviously you already know I like Napoleon(and Wellington to an extent), that really doesn't need to be emphasized anymore
Since being in Austria, I feel super endeared to Maria Theresa. She just seemed like such a boss! I think she's just really cool. Her father changed the plan of succession so she'd become Empress(rather than her cousins), but immediately upon taking power, she was immediately embroiled in war over her being the new ruler(everyone who had signed the treaty of succession suddeny reversed) But she defended her rule of the Habsburg monarchy! I think the coolest part about her is that her husband, who married into the Habsburgs, was supposed to be in charge, but she wouldn't let him be involved at all practically and was the de facto ruler of the Holy Roman Empire for like 20 years. She had 16 children and was basically constantly pregnant and having kids while involved in war, yet still held power and guided Austro-Hungary through it all 🥹 I think it's very funny also that she was laying out so many reforms, guiding the country basically just herself, and still found time to write letters to all their kids and be an overbearing mother. Also she was Marie Antoinette's mother?? I'm still shocked by how many important kids she had. If you've been to any part of the former Austro-Hungarian(+ Bohemian) Empire, she really left her mark, there's soooo much stuff named after her. The statue of her in between the Kunsthistorisches and the Natural History Museum in Vienna is really cool, and that she has a whole Platz named after her with her giant statue!!! I think it's just really admirable that a woman at that period of time had so much power and ruled so efficiently. (MY god sorry I wrote so much)
Okay now I'll try to refrain from the historical rambles, I also like: Julius Caeser(cliche sorry I know), Dmitri Shostakovich(my favorite composer ever), Pyotr Tchaikovsky(pls read about his sugar mommy patron), Erwin Rommel(I like his nickname: The Desert Fox), J.C. Leyendecker(favorite artist, I am obsessed with his work), Alphonse Mucha, Calvin Coolidge(not the best president by far but the anecdotes about his social awkwardness and quietness are hilarious to me), Ernst Gideon von Laudon(not completely insane about him, but it's like with the Napoleon Crossing the Alps painting, I saw a painting and bust of him and now feel weirdly endeared.) And then there's probably some others I can't recall atm because it's 3 am
I think my top three though are Napoleon, Julius Caesar and Maria Theresa. They're all just very: "Catie saw a painting/statue and is now very weird about it." And then being in the vicinity of so much history made it 1000x worse. Things I saw in Vienna that made me go "oh my god it's blorbo from my history book": Napoleon Crossing The Alps painting(I seriously sat in that room for probably 20 mins just staring at it, I didn't want to leave) + some other various Napoleon artifacts in the Heeresgesichtliche, a very nice bust of Julius Caesar, and literally the entirety of Vienna had Maria Theresa everywhere
#i said before but i do think its funny to have historical blorbos bcs it makes people go 'what is wrong with you'#all my friends on that trip soon learned my napoleon obsession once we stepped in that museum....#you guys are learning too much about my psyche between this and the OC posts#you thought I was unhinged only about F1? dont worry. it gets worse.#i just like reading and then holding info i guess so i can go on random rants#and history is the best to read about!!#mostly though im incapable of being normal about anything i have to be unhinged about it#but gahhhhhh im having actually a lot a lot of fun with all the napoleon stuff lately#thank you guys for encouraging me <3#for some reason that era imprinted on my brain and its always there and i cant escape#so being able to use it and indulge in it is so much fun#also i found this random person's blog and they are way more knowledgeable abt Napoleon than me#i was having so much fun reading through their blog and learning!!!!#anyways yes here pls take my rambling this one is especially bad#why did you have to ask 😭 you dont know what you unleashed in me 😭😭😭#* gotta add#the napoleon thing is sooooooo bad#like ill see a tiny ref to him and ill get all 😍 about it#like i think one time in Russian we were reading names of historical figures in cyrillic#and i saw napoleon and i like had such a 'gasping maiden' moment#WHY AM I LIKE THIS WHY DID MY BRAIN DO THIS TO ME#i dont get it either so dont question it JDKFLGLG#i mentioned but someone asked me 'so why do you like napoleon so much' and im just ?????? i dont choose what i brainrot over.#catie.asks.#catie.rambling.txt#sorry its late and i feel deranged#no FPs for me! too busy and too tired

Being a haters exhausting. Here’s some things I actually liked in the recent chapters:
Seele and Senti! They are perfect and can do no wrong. They also make a surprisingly good comedic duo
Kiana and Durandal being sisters. This is one of the few times I’m actually really glad Mihoyo went down the no-angst route. I think it would’ve been really easy and cheap to have made Durandal resent Kiana in some way for taking over her life (I’ve seen other media do that), so I found it incredibly refreshing to have Durandal take the mature route, acknowledge none of that was Kiana’s fault, and immediately accept her as her sister.
The environment design. The moon base is a pain to walk through, but an absolute Easter egg hunt of tiny details. It’s also always nice to head back to the deep and saint freya. The project stigma space is also very neat to look at
Kevin and Fu Hua’s conversations. It might just be because they’re two of my favorite characters in the game, but I really found the scenes of these two former friends asking the other to back down or join them while having this silent resignation, knowing that nothing they can say will work, genuinely heartbreaking. Man, I just want my blorbos to be ok 😭
Seeing Siegfried and Theresa hang out. I always kinda forget that those two have been friends for a long time, so it’s nice to actually see that friendship in action (also, hoyo, why do you keep making these very fun to play male characters that are only available for one chapter)
The attempt to make project stigma more nuanced. Though I don’t think they really succeeded, I appreciate them trying to expand project stigma to more than just a shitty vaccine (for those who are still confused about what project stigma does, it takes everyone without an awakened stigmata and puts them in a dream. Those dreams are all slowly merging into the collective consciousness. Once they’re in the consciousness, the original person effectively dies and is reborn into a being like Hare {or at least this is what I’ve gathered}). I think this makes more sense than just straight up killing 90% of the population, and I can kinda get why people would support it or see it as a better alternative to death.
The shift to making Grey Serpent the main antagonist. So uh, past his introduction arc, Kevin just doesn’t make a good antagonist. He’s kinda disconnected from most of the main conflicts and the vast majority of the time we’ve seen him (be it him, his sim, or the Kaslana stigmata), he’s been on the protagonists side. Grey Serpent on the other hand- that guy has pissed EVERYONE off at some point or another. Even Seele is wary around him. I think if Mihoyo doesn’t want to do morally grey antagonists anymore, then going with the Disney villain is a better choice than demonizing another victim
Any time Li Shushang and Susannah are on screen together. Mihoyo really said “if you don’t know what to do with this side character, then make interesting by giving her a girlfriend,” and they were so right
Mei’s little amusement park space. I can’t really think of why I liked this section, I just did. It was fun

That moment you die in a cave, get teleported to a weird church without a single acorn in it, and think you saw the sun for the first time in ???... only for it to be a glowing tree.
I shaded something, be proud of me.
Falix is my oc from the Elden Hero au, the child of Sparrow, twin of Logan, and unlucky Tarnished. Unlucky mostly because Theresa is determined to doom him via the narrative.
He’s a fourth kind hero like Sparrow, though he’s kinda shit with a sword that doesn’t rely on finesse. So rapiers. Though he used to highly rely on his pistol--which isn’t really an option anymore so he’s having to learn the bow on the fly. He does, however, have Will-- though he does need to rely on his gauntlets for Willpower spells and he’s no master. His Morality and Purity are solidly middle of the road when he dies, largely because he spent his whole life being a nerd that was also at least 90% sure he’d have to shoot Reaver in the head at some point. He’s also gay with a weak spot for anyone who knows their wheelhouse. And boys that are pretty and not particularly good at anything. Two modes.
He died when he and Logan were 29 and their little sister Primrose was 9.
Was friends with the peaceful hollow men under Bowerstone Cemetery. Mostly because he fell through the ceiling of their caverns in his teens and once they realized he wasn’t going to take their diamond, they were content to speak with him. Which means his opinion of Those Who Live In Death is basically “so long as they don’t start shit, we’re good”. He’s also not 100% on calling Tarnished separated from your average undead. They were just dramatic about it.

RC9GN: Thoughts Post-S2 Finale
this show had no right- a cliffhanger?
I have so Many Thoughts on the would’ve-been season three and the other stuff that might have come to be (keeping my paws crossed on the idea of it coming back-)
Now, here’s another set of rambles;
It took me way too long to realize about “the cowboy” in the series- before realizing his importance, I honestly thought he was sort of like, a nudge to the creator? But no, oh my god. I’m genuinely curious on the recurring characters that are meant to be immortal, because there’s also Plop Plop, but specifically about “the Creep” - he’s a messenger, and he clearly knows more than he let’s on. We know he doesn’t really pick the next Ninja, but I feel that he also knows- somehow- who might be a good fit. Randy wasn’t chosen just because
(The outlier is Mac Antfee which… doesn’t make sense to me-? But then again it’s a cartoon- it doesn’t always need to make sense)
Another thing! I seriously wanted a bigger battle between Ghoulian/Evil Julian, the Sorcerer, and Randy- like hello? Also, just- Randy’s such a dumb kid, but to be fair, he’s also fourteen. I kind of learned to read between the lines of what the Nomicon means, though not all of it is that obscure. Randy’s just a little bit dumb /lh (although we all know that boy has ADHD-)
Anyway, back to the battle- I know it’s just a cartoon but honestly, Randy tag-teaming Evil Julian with the Sorcerer was such chef’s kiss, and holy- instead of just returning the Sorcerer into his prison, like I genuinely would’ve loved to see Randy uncovering a new power and the battle lasting longer; getting more and more intense, lowkey Randy getting cornered and then a final defeat- I know this doesn’t make sense now oof but still! I wanted more
I seriously really thought that Julian might’ve been clued in on Randy’s identity as the Ninja but ig I was wrong-
Okay, this- this is actually something I wanted to comment on;
After learning about Secrets of the 9, there’s not just one but nine other realms out there- and I don’t know about you,, but getting a chance to explore what they could’ve been would be amazing.
It’s also interesting to note that, well, we have the Norisu 9 and we don’t really know a lot about them- I’d seriously love for there to be a connection back? Nine seems to be a recurring theme, and I’m sure the logo/symbolism on Randy’s shirt also has its part to play, but anyway- this is mostly my self indulgent thoughts-
(For starters, the nine realms being trials that get harder and harder for the Ninja- like, that would be so interesting and fun and cool to mess around with; like, we have the Land of Shadows - which still has the Sorceress? Could she possibly come back? - but then we could have like, Land of the Embers, or something connected to fire- again, don’t pay me too much mind right now but still, I-
The other thing is the following: hear me out. What if the rest of the Norisu 9 are in the other realms? They’re somehow going to be influencing Randy, because I’m pretty sure he’s got to be connected to them somehow- I’ll cover this better later)
I know there’s not really much of an identity reveal with Randy, nor is it as important as it would’ve been with say, Danny Phantom- but if like, Julian or Theresa knew or somehow Debbie remembered, I think it could add a whole lot more drama. A lot more that I think could be a moving part of the show- and the other thing!
McFist and Viceroy. What’s going to become of them now that the Sorcerer has been defeated? I’d honestly still love for them to be reoccurring characters- not exactly as much foils to the Ninja anymore, but let them be kind of… allies? Or at the very least, I want someone to make the connection that the Ninja’s not literally 800 years old, that they’ve been fighting a literal high school freshman
Honestly maybe it’s just me being self indulgent with the idea of Viceroy adopting and/or lessening full on destruction of the Ninja because again, Randy’s fourteen. (He’s a literal teenager tasked with protecting a whole city from forces of evil that technically exist in another plane of existence- that’s so much for him to bear)
I want Randy to kind of reach breaking point and convince himself he’s not fit to be the Ninja, that he’s got to face off a monster or something that is too strong at first- but please, give me more scenes between the First Ninja and Randy. Giving them parallels would be so, so interesting- and maybe I just want more connections between the pair. Either the First Ninja sees himself in Randy, or- Randy’s a descendant of the Norisu 9
(The same way I’m fully convinced that Howard is a descendant of Plop Plop)
Okay, but also- I want more lore on the Norisu 9? Like, you’ve got this group of ninjas that were meant to take on the Sorcerer, and then slowly got picked off until one of them remained- who exactly were they? They definitely were a clan, and the First Ninja specifically mentions “the ultimate sacrifice” which means there was a major battle and somehow he survived- I’m going to traumatize him so much if I’m going to explore this; and also would there be creatures that are part of Japanese mythology? I honestly want to connect this idea back to the Kitsune OC I made for a previous prompt. I could use this to delve more into the relationship between “Finja” and the Kitsune- and if they knew each other in the early days
Additional Under-the-Cut Information
~ nine realms: different trials and new monsters/villains that the Ninja has to face; more specifically Randy since I imagine the other Ninjas didn’t directly have to face the Sorcerer
(possible connections to the Norisu 9, I like to think that there’s a curse but we’re getting off topic here- this is a story for another time)
~ the history behind why McFist seems to have it out for the Ninja- other than you know, being promised a superpower by the Sorcerer- based on creator details, McFist and Mac Antfee could’ve been friends?
~ other people getting possibly involved with the Ninja- leaning to it being Theresa or Julian, but Debbie remembering and/or figuring it out again could also be fun (provided she doesn’t go blabbing again-); I like to think each of them has specific qualities that would add depth to Randy- you know, if the show bothered to give him development (like Fowlham was supposed to be endgame- and Julian knows a lot more now, hello?)
~ if the Sorceress comes back- Randy and her would have to face off again, and I’m weirdly eager about that-
~ I’m going to stop here- for now. I think I might honestly write a fanfic for this? I’d draw it but since I can’t, well- this is the next best thing
