The fact that the coup goes so very differently when Kurt betrays de Sardet gets me so bad. You're caught off guard the moment he walks in and calls on his squad. Then once he's beaten, you're scrambling to rescue your allies because the traitors know Kurt is gone, and the time spent putting together a plan of action is time they use to proceed with the attack, and you're operating off of intuition rather than Kurt's intel. The time loss is significant enough that messengers aren't enough, you need to go straight to San Matheus or Hikmet in order to prevent the coup from hitting there. And you can only get one, saving both is off of the table.
Kurt's decision to betray the Guard or de Sardet can change the fate of a whole city, and alter the island's political landscape in a big way. And it all comes down to how deeply he, the self-proclaimed cold-hearted mercenary, cares.

Saw a sibling poll and needed to expand it because I fit, like. Mid youngest, youngest in theory only child in practice, and adopted. And I think they all have their own unique parts in the sibling ecosystem.
