Through Me (The Flood) - secret baby fic Simon Riley / female reader - warning: postpartum depression requested by multiple: mama's family
Tumblr media
"Where's my baby?!"
You can practically hear your teeth grinding together as you give your aunt a tight lipped smile. "He's due to get up any minute." She sighs, like it's an inconvenience, your mom hot on her heels.
"Hi honey," she says, glancing around your now pristine flat, "how are things?"
"Oh, fine." It's the same thing you've been saying this whole time. I'm fine. I'm good. Everything is great. "Went to the pediatrician the other day, Ry is perfect and healthy." You omit the rest of your news, the sudden reappearance of Simon, the stable, consistent presence in your life, the man who was supporting you in anyway he could.
Even though you absolutely do not want your mom or your aunt to meet him, let alone know about him-
you still kind of wish he was here.
He told you yesterday, regretfully, that he had meetings on base all day today, and you told him your mom and aunt were coming by, but probably wouldn't stay long. It was good, that he wouldn't be around.
Before he left for the night, he made you promise to call if you needed him. Text him to check in. You did as he asked, but didn't hear much. Not a surprise, since he said he wouldn't have a lot of time to respond, but still wanted updates.
"That's great honey." Her smile is genuine, and you know she means it. She does mean well, mostly. It's not her fault you're bad at asking for help, or that since you left home, you've become stubbornly independent. You even spent a few years "gallivanting across the globe" as your sister liked to say, shirking responsibility after uni.
Your family was used to you being a bit of a ghost.
"- don't you think?" Your aunt's voice brings you back to earth, and you nod robotically, unsure of what you're agreeing to. You're about to apologize for missing the conversation when the baby monitor on the kitchen counter lights up, Orion's fussy 'I just woke up mom, come get me' cry crackling from the speaker.
"That's for me." You joke half heartedly with a smile that doesn't reach your eyes. You know the battle with ensue as soon as you come back into the living room with the baby, and you dread it.
"Hi baby." You bend at the waist, scooping him out of his crib. "You're gettin' too heavy for mama, big boy. Don't know what I'm gonna do when you're older." The thought stops you in your tracks, the acknowledgement that he'll get older, that soon he'll be six months, and then a year, two. He'll learn to crawl, to walk, to speak. It's exciting, and anxiety inducing. What if you mess him up? What if you don't give him a good life? What if you're not a good mom, or he gets sick, or there's an accident, or an attack or-
No. You're not going to do this. You're not going to fall into these obsessive what ifs. It will only make you sick to your stomach.
You get him into a new nappy and clothes before slinking back into the living room, cowed with your head down. His head turns against your chest, seeking, and you know he's starting to realize he's hungry.
But the vultures don't care.
"Bring that boy over here, let me hold him." Your aunt croons, syrupy sick voice conjuring a roar of nausea.
"He's probably hungry." You start to warn them that this won't last long as you lower him into her arms, but you know it will fall on deaf ears. "So-"
"Just get a bottle from the fridge dear, I can feed him no problem." You fight the urge to to snap at her, unreasonable rage swelling inside your heart. No one feeds him except you, and Simon. Bottles are fine when you're asleep and can't nurse, or between feedings, but he doesn't eat as much from them. Of course, you've tried to tell them that, multiple times, but it never seems to stick. Your mom knows, but she never stands up to her older sister.
Like mother like daughter, you guess. You've never been a doormat per se, but you don't have a strongest backbone, and becoming a mom has changed you, a lot. You've become even more soft, more sensitive. It's... a problem.
"How are you feeling, honey?" You know she's asking mostly about your body, your stitches, your physical aches and pains, which were plenty considering what you went through when Ry was born, but your mom's voice is gentle, like she senses you frustration, and you give her a weak smile. It's nice she's expressing interest, but that's usually as far as it goes, unless you count the meals she's brought over that you barely picked it, not having enough energy to even feed yourself, or shower, or the suggestion that you give her the baby all the time so you could 'take a break' even though he screamed the moment he was separated from you. Not helpful. Nobody cared that you had scary thoughts, scary moments, scary days. Nobody offered to be here at night with you, when you were all alone with the baby after dark, terrified, crying in the bathroom with your face buried in a towel so you wouldn't wake him. No one was here when you were afraid you might hurt him, or yourself, and no one seemed to hear you when you shrugged over and over again, your lack of interest in everything explicitly clear.
You sucked at asking for help, so you didn't. And when you did, you never got it right, or got the right answers, so you stopped asking. Everything became fine. Good.
"Fine, good." She opens her mouth to say something, ask some question, probably about Ry, when your blood goes cold.
The sound of your front door opening rings out like a bang, your eyes widening in panic, and you nearly run to the kitchen.
Oh fuck. Oh no, no no no-
You turn in slow motion to see your baby's daddy, the man who has a key now, stepping through the doorway. As soon as you lay eyes on him, you split down the middle. You're horrified, because of what's about to happen with the two hens on the couch and-
your libido roars to life. Simon's not wearing his usual jeans or joggers and black hoodie, but a camouflage military uniform. One that he fills out, broad shoulders and broad chest fitted snug inside the material. You think you're staring. Or drooling. Or both.
His lips quirk up on one side with a secretive, almost seductive smile, and he peeks over your shoulder before turning his attention back to you. "Hey mama."
"H-hey. Uh. Hi." Your hands uselessly flit around, like you're trying to swat some invisible bugs away or something. "My mom is still here. And my aunt," you can't help yourself, you take him in from head to toe one more time, "you look... nice."
"Price makes me wear my BDU for on base meetings." He grunts, slightly exasperated. Who?
"BDU?"
"Battle dress uniform. It's... the approved, standard uniform. I don't wear it... in the field." His lips press together, and your mind wanders, curious questions about 'the field' popping up like fireworks, but you push them away. Now is definitely not the right time. His thumb brushes your cheek, under your eye, and he frowns. "Everything alright?"
You step to the side, motioning to the living room, where your aunt and mother are whispering fiercely. You roll your shoulders, and take a deep breath. "Do you... want to, say hi?" The question is weak, your voice small. His brow furrows. He looks hesitant, and you don't blame him. They're a lot. It's a lot. He glances down at you again, head tilted in consideration. "Or you could just go. If you ran out that door... well I'd only wish I could come with you." You whisper, and he cracks a smile.
"No. 'm not runnin' from any part of you, sweetheart. C'mon. They can't be worse than..." he trails off, odd look in his eyes before it clears, "they can't be worse than a lot of things."
He follows you around the corner of the kitchen, crossing the threshold of the living room with two large strides.
Your mother gasps. Your aunt makes a sound that you can only describe as a goose being strangled, and Orion starts to cry. Perfect.
"Oh, oh shhh, shhhh." Your aunt tries to soothe him, but you know it won't work.
"Mom," you call over the noise, gesturing to the giant man standing next to your coffee table, and you, "Mom! This is Simon." She stares at you, confused, shocked even. You never told her your one night stand's name, just that you couldn't track him down, so she doesn't make the connection.
Still, she gapes at him. Clears her throat with a question.
"Is this... your boyfriend honey?" Your aunt's expression is not much different, and you freeze. Is he? Is that what this is? You half expect Simon to reject the term boyfriend flat out, but instead-
"Something like that." His hand settles between your shoulder blades, and you lean into it, relishing the comfort. Just the presence of him in the flat is enough to soothe you, lessen the tension you feel building in your chest. "Sounds like he's hungry, mama."
"Yeah, I think he's more than ready." You reach for Ry, eager to pick him up, but your aunt shifts her body, shying away, turning her shoulder to you. You're used to this, the keep away, the way they always try to convince you he'll calm down, to let them hold him for too long, to get him a bottle... but Simon is not.
He goes rigid at your side. You can feel the muscle in his arm turn to stone, and his eyes narrow, upper lip curling. Your mother's eyes go wide, but your aunt remains oblivious. "I can feed him, dear. Go get a bottle warmed up and-"
"No." Simon snaps, rough pitch of his voice dipping deeper into the manc accent, and she bristles. This bitch wouldn't be scared of the devil himself.
"Excuse me?" You watch the muscle in his jaw flex with fascination, wondering what he'll do next. You're brought back to when you met, when he stared down the guy who pushed you out of the way at the bar like he was going to murder him, before calling you over to settle next to his thigh. He put his hand on your waist, shielded you from everyone else for the rest of the night.
You were a goner before you ever had a chance to begin.
"Orion wants his mother. You can hand him over without a fuss, or I can throw you out of this flat. Your choice." His words are hard, cold steel, a sharp knife slicing away, exposing vulnerable parts and smashing them to pieces.
Your aunt has the gall to look scandalized, but when you glance at your mother, she has a different expression. It's warm. Approving. She mets your eyes with a small smile as you scoop Orion up, and then she stands.
"We'll get out of your hair, honey." She tugs you into a half hug before looking over. "Nice to meet you Simon." Your aunt is ranting and raving all the way to your front door, but once it's shut...
"Bloody hell." He mutters, and shakes his head. "I won't let anyone push you 'round like that, sweetheart. Family or not. Especially not in your own home, I-"
"Thank you." It's all you can say. "I um, kind of suck at sticking up for myself, sometimes. It means a lot, that you would do that. For me." He steps close, hand covering Orion's belly and chest, even though he's still crying.
"Kitten doesn't have any claws," he murmurs against your ear, and your eyebrows knit together. Uh... what? "Don't worry, you won't need 'em. Not now that you have me." There's something dangerous in his tone, something lethal and profound. It’s as fervid as his proclamation about his commitment to you, to Orion. Like dark water, bottomless and black, it draws you out deeper, sends shivers up your spine, but doesn't turn you away. It makes you curious, intrigued, desperate to peel back his layers, to dig into him until you know it all, inside and out.
Curiosity killed the cat, isn’t that what they say?
You weren't afraid of him that night, and you're not afraid now. You know Simon is not an ordinary man. You know you've bitten off a lot, by having his baby, rekindling this connection, giving him a key-
but you plan to chew.

PATO - FIVE
series masterlist | part 3 | part 4
[charles leclerc x reader, carlos sainz x reader]
warnings: pregnancy, angst, breastfeeding, spanish and google translated french
note: Yikes, the way I wrote charles is lowkey toxic, mb lol. This part reminded me of a picture i saw ages ago about how men and women deal with breakups, dudes moving on immediately and end up being sad after a few months and women being sad for a bit and then moving on after a few months.
Anyways, shoutout to my baby sisters for being my main inspiration behind Lucero and for helping me figure out what babies do at 13 months lol I apologies in advance if some things don’t make sense, I tried my best to imitate the way they used to speak and use that for Lucero.
Although not necessary, I listened to this playlist while I did all my writing and editing. It’s a nice bittersweet blend. If you guys wanna give it a listen, I think it would enhance the feelings in this part :)
We’re bouncing a little with the time jumps again but as always, they have the dates so its easier to track :) Happy reading!
MEXICO, OCTOBER 2024
Charles staggers into the hotel room, chest heaving as if he’s been sprinting miles without rest. His chest constricts,  each breath coming out in shallow puffs as he struggles to recompose himself.
“Mon cœur?” he hears come from the bedroom and he no longer has it in him to hold back. Alexandra peeks out, eyes full of concern as she approaches the sobbing man. His face is buried in his hands and he would give anything to blend into the wall he’s leaning on. Guiding him to their room, she sits him down, slotting herself between his legs as he grips tight around her middle. His tears soak through her shirt as his body wracks with loud sobs.
Frustration, anger, sadness – they all jumble together in his mind. Alexandra runs her fingers through his hair, murmuring comforts and feather light kisses into his hairline and waits for the sobs to soften before speaking.
"Mon cœur, que s'est-il passé?" she asks, gently pushing his face away from her torso. My heart, what happened? She cradles his face as he looks up at her, silent tears staining his face. “That little girl we met today... she's my daughter. I didn’t know.” His voice is hoarse when he whispers, full of regret and guilt.
Alexandra’s eyes widen at the admission. “Charles, comment a-t-elle pu te cacher quelque chose comme ça? C'est... impardonnable," she says, her tinged with sympathy and indignation. How could she keep something like this from you? That's... unforgivable.
Charles shakes his head, eyes squeezed shut, a few tears still escaping down his cheeks. His sobs are fading in quiet hiccups as he slowly regains his breathing. “No, Alex. It’s not her fault. I’m the one who wasn’t there, it’s all my fault. I didn’t care enough, I left.”
She’s puzzled at his confession, lost in the depth of his sorrow. “What?”

MONACO, DECEMBER 2022
You’re lying partially on your side, arm draped over your bare chest as it rises and falls at a steady pace. He watches as you turn away, hair cascading over your back. The sheets are wrapped just over your middle, your upper body completely exposed to the air. The soft morning light filters through the room and Charles can’t help but think of the events last night.
He can still hear your voice as it echoes through the room, begging him not to stop. He can feel the crescent moons you’ve pressed into the thick muscles of his back. The ghost of your lips still lingers on his skin, like the stain of red lipstick on the collar of a white shirt.
He leans over your sleeping figure, dragging his nose over your shoulder and pressing a ghost of a kiss there. It rouses you just enough to murmur a drowsy protest. “Don’t go,” you whisper and reach out for him, the tips of your fingers barely catching his skin. He is already on his feet.
"I'll be back soon," he lies, slipping out before you can say anything else. He busies himself with mundane tasks, filling his day with errands that could be left for later. He thinks of you, all on your own, in your shared apartment waiting for him to come home. As you always did. He drives across the city, glancing at his phone as your messages roll in, swiping them away almost as quickly as they came.
The truth was, being at home was proving to be increasingly difficult as time went on. His home with you, once a sanctuary, felt like a pressure cooker ready to pop. He loved you, doted on your every move but the constant fear of his career and unrelenting scrutiny of the public had slowly started to suffocate him. He couldn’t bear to break your heart and burden you with his overwhelming amount of feelings. What if he’d never be good enough for Ferrari, good enough for you? With every moment he spent away, he kept sinking into his own mind, choosing to ignore you and your attempts at breaking down his walls. He hated being away from you but he couldn’t help but pack you away into a corner of his mind, where he knew you’d be waiting for him, day in and day out.
He comes home late that night, the guilt of having to face you gnawing at him. It's well after sunset and the night air is cool, the breeze turning icy. He walks through the door, expecting the lights to be off but is surprised to see you leaning over the sink, rinsing off dishes.
Your face lights up when you see him, a tender smile he knows is only for him.
“Cha, you’re back,” you exclaim, turning to face the counter closest to the wall. You pick up a plate, filled generously with a meal that he could tell you spent a great deal of effort on. It’s gone cold in his absence.
He only gives you a small smile, pressing a light kiss to your temple. He can’t help but feel a little surprised at your good mood. But he can’t bring himself to match the enthusiasm you carry in your voice.“I’m not really hungry,” he mutters, eyes not meeting yours. “I think I’ll just shower and head to bed.”
Your smile falters as he moves towards your bedroom, hurt flickering across your face. “But.. I made this for you. You’ve been out all day, I thought we could eat together.”
He forces a smile, trying to appease you and end the conversation quickly. “I appreciate it amour, really. I’m just really tired.”
He can feel your eyes on him as he turns away, heavy with unspoken words. If he knew then what he knows now, he would've stood in that room and held you close. He would’ve tried harder to keep you by his side. He would’ve told you that he loved you. But he didn’t.
She’ll come back, it’s okay, his thoughts echo while he stares at the door as you run into the night. You’re his rock, his anchor. His home. Weeks trickle by slowly and he can feel you slip away as more time goes by. He eventually stops thinking that he can hear your keys jingle in the lock at the front door. Your scent no longer clings to the bedsheets and the lush scented detergent you would buy gradually runs out. He slowly begins placing your things in boxes and taking them into storage where he hopes one day you’ll come to get them. Soon enough, he erases you from the apartment completely and it's as if you were never even there.
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
Charles shakes his head, his breath hitching. “I would do that often when I was home. I would lavish her with affection, trying to make sure she knew that I loved her with my whole being but…” he stops, pressing shaky fingers to his lips as if his breath is completely depleted. “I would find reasons to leave, seeking comfort in anything that wouldn’t make me think of what I was feeling inside.”
"Why?" Alexandra asks softly, her hand gently stroking his back.
"I was scared," he admitted. "Scared of losing her, of not being enough. I thought keeping my distance, both physically and emotionally, would protect the both of us, but it only drove her away."
Alexandra's heart aches for him as he confesses. She knows Charles loves her but as his emotions spill out before her, she can’t help but feel like the other woman. She feels guilty as this new feeling is born and grows quickly. He’s confiding in her and the only thing she can think of are the doubts beginning to spiral in her mind. Trying to mask her discomfort she wraps her arms around him, his body relaxing against her as his breath gets smoother.
"You did what you thought was best, Charles. You made mistakes, yes, but now you’ve learned and can move to find a better way forward," she says as her hand rubs up and down his back.
Charles shakes his head. "I was selfish, Alex. I was so focused on my fears that I ignored her needs. I wanted to build a life together, to have a family. I pushed her away, and now... now I have a daughter I've never met."
Alex swallows hard as tears begin to bead in her eyes. She tries not to think too much about what he’s saying. She tries not to think about how this could make or break them. Would he still want to build something with me? Have the family he’s always wanted with me?
“But you're here now and that’s all that matters. It’s not going to be easy but you can still be part of Lucero’s life and maybe, in time find a way to make amends.” She meets his gaze once again. The whites of his eyes are now red, only making the green around his iris look more brilliant than it did before. “Thank you, mon amour. For being here, for listening. I don’t deserve you.”
She gives him a small smile, pushing away the feelings of insecurity that are now growing in the back of her mind. “Nous allons nous en sortir. Juste… ne m'exclut pas, d'accord ? Je ne peux pas t'aider si tu ne me laisses pas entrer.” We’ll get through this. Just… don’t shut me out, okay? I can’t help you if you don’t let me in.
“Je promets,” he nods, pulling her into his arms again. I promise.
Charles is exhausted as he lays in her arms later that night, face pressed into her chest, snug against her heart. Alexandra lies awake in the darkness, the thought of you overtaking her mind. Her hands tenderly brush over Charles’s hair, his deep breaths tickling her skin slightly. There will always be a part of him that belonged to you. And it makes her wonder, with Lucero and you beginning to take your places in his heart, would there still be room for her?
*:・゚✧*:・゚✧
The sun gently peeks through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. You stir from your sleep, eyes heavy as you turn to the sound of Lucero’s cries. You begin to pull yourself up, pushing the sheets off of you. You hear a string of tsks next to you, Carlos gently pulling you back to bed.
“Tu quedate aqui,” he says quietly, his voice rough. “Yo voy por ella.” You stay here, I’ll get her.
You mumble a slurred ok, nodding with eyes still very heavy as you settle back down. Eyes still puffy with sleep, you settle on now propped-up pillows. Pulling at the straps of your sleep shirt, you slip the top off. You watch hazily as Carlos moves to Lucero’s makeshift crib, his steps quiet and measured. He coos at her and you can see her little hands reach out for him, legs kicking in frustration. “Buenos días, mi patito,” he says, cradling her close. “Ya vamos con la mamí, no te preocupes.” Good morning, my duckling. We're going with mummy, don’t worry. It makes your heart flutter as he stares at her with his gentle eyes, pressing a kiss to her hand as it goes to poke at his chin.
He makes his way back to the bed, watching as you adjust yourself in your spot. Lucero babbles, her initial upset fading into a groggy murmur as she nestles into the crook of Carlos’s neck. Her thumb catches on her lip as she tries to suck on it.
Carlos chuckles as he watches her latch onto it, gently pulling it from her mouth. “No, señora,” he says teasingly. No, ma'am. “No thumb-sucking, little miss.” His gaze is warm as he hands her to you.
The room fills with a peaceful silence as Lucero latches on, her small body relaxing in her mother’s arms. She holds on tightly, almost insatiable as she feeds. Carlos climbs back into bed, propping himself up on one elbow. His gaze is fixed on the two of you, eyes soft as he sees how devoted you’ve become to your little one, the love and connection strong between you.
He can’t help but feel a sense of awe as he continues to watch you. He can’t help but admire how far you’ve come, the bond between you and Lucero beautiful and pure. The feeling of protectiveness and devotion to the two of you grows every day. He catches him thinking of the babe as his own, his daughter. She meant everything to him and he can’t bear to even imagine his life without her in it. Yet, he knew that Charles had a right to be a part of her life too, no matter how much it hurt to have to share that role. It's a thought that fills him with warmth but follows with a pang of bittersweet reality.
With Lucero’s cries ceased, you gaze down at her. You're engrossed with how peaceful she looks, her little nose pressing into the flesh of your breast, little hands holding you as close as she can. Her eyes are beginning to droop again as her tummy fills up. She sighs in her stupor, pausing briefly before continuing.
You can feel Carlos’s gaze on you. He looks at you in adoration, fingers ghosting over Lucero’s chubby legs. He presses a kiss to your shoulder, sitting up as he does. Taking a deep breath, he breaks the silence. “Do you wanna talk about last night?” he asks gently. “And what comes next?”
The question hangs in the air briefly, heavy with the weight of this new reality. You take a deep breath, mind coursing with different thoughts and emotions. “Not really, no.” You confess with a dry chuckle. If you could stay in this moment, just the three of you, you would without a second thought. “But we need to.”
He takes another deep breath, nodding. His expression is thoughtful as he threads his fingers through yours, bringing your hand up to his lips. “I know,” he says quietly. “I was thinking… If we’re going to do this, maybe we should also think about involving Alexandra.”
You blink in surprise, your eyebrows furrowing. “Alexandra?” you repeat, voice uncertain.
Carlos nods, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze. “Yeah,” he says slowly. “I know its complicated, but she’s a part of Charles’s life. If he’s going to be in Lucero’s life, she might be too.”
Your expression is still a puzzled one as you respond. “I hadn’t thought about that,” You admit. “Do you think it's a good idea?”
Carlos sighs, running a hand through his hair. “I don’t know,” he says honestly. “But I think we should at least be open to it. Lucero deserves to know everyone who loves her. And I’m here, i know it’s not the same but I feel that because of that, she should be there too. We can’t ignore that.”
Your heart aches slightly at the thought, fear and hope swirling in your chest. “I’m scared, Carlos,” you say, voice beginning to tremble. “I don’t want to make things harder for her.”
Carlos leans in, pressing a gentle kiss to your forehead. “I know,” he whispers, eyes trained on her little figure, still sucking away. “But we need to think about what’s best for her in the long run. We’ll take it slow and be there for her every step of the way.”
Your eyes begin to fill with tears, your grip on Lucero tightening slightly. “What if it doesn’t work out? What if it hurts her?”
Carlos’s eyes soften, and he cups your face in his hands, forcing you to meet his gaze. “We’ll do everything we can to make sure she’s okay,” he says firmly. “We’ll protect her. But we can’t shield her from everything. She deserves the chance to know her family, even if it’s complicated.”
You nod slowly, heart heavy with the weight of the decision. “Okay,” you say softly. “We’ll try. But we have to be careful. We have to make sure it’s what’s best for her.”
Carlos smiles, his eyes filled with love and pride. “We will,” he promises. He presses his forehead to yours.“We’ll figure it out together.”
Lucero had finished feeding, her eyes now drifting closed as she snuggles against your chest.  You look down at her daughter, feeling a swell of emotion as you cradle her closer. Her jaw trembles slightly, a sign she was tired once again. “I just want her to be happy,” you whisper, voice breaking slightly.
Carlos wraps his arm around you, pulling the two of you close. “She will be,” he says gently. “She has you. And she has me. And now, she has a chance to know her father too.”

BRAZIL, NOVEMBER 2024
The sun is high over Sao Paolo when you arrive to the paddock. The air is electric with excitement, spectators slowly filling up the stands around the track. Their conversations create a gentle buzz that echoes above the garages.
Carlos makes his way into the paddock, smiling at photographers and journalists as they wait for his entrance. They don’t miss the small body he holds in his arms and the woman that trails closely behind him, fingers intertwined with his.
Your eyes scan meet the people waiting for you to enter, a delicate smile gracing your lips. Once in the Ferrari garage, you take release a breath, one you didn’t know you’d been holding back.
“Are you sure this was a good idea?” you ask Carlos as you’re settled in the back of the garage. A sudden wave of nerves washes over you as you can see a couple photographers clicking away around the garage. “Bringing her here?”
Carlos leans on one of the tables with you, nodding, fingers gently brushing over her wispy tufts of brown hair. “She seems to like it,” he points out as she squeals happily, pulling at the wire that connects to the big headphones Fred passed to her as you entered. “Besides, it’s good for her to see where Charles and I spend so much time.”
You smile, the concern still evident in your eyes. “I just don’t want her to feel overwhelmed.”
“She’s tougher than she looks,” Carlos says, fingers going to lovingly pinch at your arm. You know he’s referring to her but the look on his eyes makes you think he might mean you too.
Lucero spots the red car being worked on and babbles excitedly as she sees the garage technicians checking around the car.
“Cah-loh!” she exclaims, her voice a mix of wonder and determination. “Sí, Lu, un carro,” you correct gently. Yes, Lu, a car. Her attempt at say carro was endearing, the R sound still elusive for her baby tongue. Car. “Es rojo. Puedes decir, rojo?” she claps her hands, ignoring your request. Its red. can you say red?
Carlos chuckles, leaning down to kiss her head. “Lolo’s going to drive el carro rojo, mi amor.” he says to her, pointing to himself and adding a soft vroom as he begins to imitate a car with his hand. He makes almost a flying motion with his hand in front of you before gently whooshing it towards the bubbly baby, tickling her tummy. She giggles, managing to grap his hands and pulls at his fingers. She holds them up to her face, a soft gargle of buh buh buh falling from her lips.
Lucero catches the eye of Charles as he makes his way into the garage, his eyes lighting up as he approaches you. He’s wearing those god-awful bleached jeans again, the odd stripes something you always teased him about. You just don’t see the art yet, he’d often say.
He gives Carlos a side hug before hesitantly leaning over you and wrapping his arms around you. It sends a wave of nerves through the both of you. He lets go quickly before he can think much of it and crouches slightly to meet Lucero’s eyes.
“Bonjour, ma petite amour,” His voice is soft as he speaks to her. Hello, my little love. There’s an eager smile on his face, one that masks the nerves that were bubbling just beneath the surface. It’s one you recognize.
Lucero looks at Charles, suddenly clampering into your arms, tucking her face into your neck. Charles’s heart clenches at the sight. “Muñeca, dile hola a Cha,” you say, his nickname rolling off your tongue with ease. Doll, say hi to Cha.
You poke gently her little tummy, pulling her attention to her father. He smiles at her as she peeks out from behind your hair. You guide her hand gently towards Charles and she meets him in the halfway, her little fingers wrapping around his. “She’ll warm up,” you reassure. “It’s a lot for her, all these new faces and places.”
Charles nods, a slight flutter of uncertainty vibrating through his chest. “I understand,” he says. “I’m just happy to see her.”
Carlos observes the exchange, emotions swirling in his chest. He can’t help the protectiveness and understanding that bubble up as he sees this. He moves away from the table only to have Lucero reach her arms out for him.
“Vienes conmigo, estrellita?” he asks as she pulls away from you and Charles, oblivious to the emotions of the adults around her. Are you coming with me, little star? She points excitedly at the car again, prompting Carlos to get near it. Buh buh buh she tries quietly.
“Bah bah,” she finally manages, voice loud as she proceeds to bury her face into Carlos’s shirt. He lets out a giggle as she does so. “Bah bah, vlum.” he looks at her with wide eyes, bouncing her in his arms. He glances over at you, jaw slack as he identifies what she’s trying to say.
Charles’s smile falters momentarily. She means papa, he thinks. He masks his broken-heartedness quickly and turns to you. “She seems to really like the cars.” He comments, trying to keep his otne light.
“She does,” you say, glancing between the two men. “Maybe she’ll be a driver someday, like her father.”
“Maybe,” Charles says, his voice sounding like it’s far away. The word father hangs in the air, shrouded in a veil and he’s not sure if you mean Carlos or him.

Unraveling the Ferrari Enigma: Carlos Sainz Arrives with Mystery Woman and Baby, Spotted Again with Charles Leclerc at Brazilian GP
In an unexpected twist at the Mexican Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz was seen arriving hand-in-hand with a mystery woman and a baby, sparking widespread speculation and intrigue within the F1 community. The woman, identified by sharp-eyed fans as Y/N L/N, the elusive former girlfriend of Sainz’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, has rarely been seen publicly, adding to the mystique surrounding this revelation.
Y/N L/N, who maintained a low profile throughout her relationship with Leclerc, has remained a figure of intrigue among fans and the media. Leclerc, known for his privacy regarding personal matters, never publicly acknowledged L/N, making this unexpected appearance alongside Sainz and the child even more startling.
Adding to the speculation, L/N and the baby—whose identiy remains undisclosed—made a second appearance at the Brazilian Grand Prix, further capturing the attention of the F1 world. Observers noted that not only were L/N and the child seen with Sainz, but they were also frequently spotted around Leclerc, intensifying curiosity about the current dynamics within the Ferrari team.
The repeated public appearances of L/N and the child have ignited a flurry of questions regarding their connection to Sainz and Leclerc, and what this means for the Ferrari drivers off the track. Could this development cause tension between Sainz and Leclerc? With the high stakes of the racing season and the close-knit nature of the F1 community, the unexpected appearance of L/N and the baby has undoubtedly raised eyebrows and sparked numerous questions.

Time Of Our Lives || Part 10
Tumblr media
Part 10:
Art wanted to die. There’s no other way to describe what he had been feeling for the last three days. He hadn’t seen Liana anywhere. Not in the cafeteria, not outside her lectures, not outside the dorms.
He considered entering her room with the key he had, but he knew she would demand it back, and he clung to that key like it was his lifeline. He knew it was his last access to her life at the moment.
Art knew everything he said was a mistake from the second he said those things. To be honest, Art doesn’t remember what he said exactly. He just knows that Liana’s expression changed in minutes from humiliated, to sad, to disgusted, to angry. He knows he made her cry. He made her sob. Liana. The same Liana who, when she entered his room, he asked if she had been crying. When she left his room, he was the reason she cried.
He didn’t know how to come back from this. He didn’t know what to do or who to call or how to start breathing regularly again.
“You’re playing like shit,” he heard Tashi’s voice from afar and lifted his head. “Bad day,” he mumbled and forced a smile. “A bad day isn’t four balls in a row hitting the net. What happened?” she approached him, examining him.
“Nothing, Tash,” he sighed, “Can’t I have a bad day with a few balls not making it over the net?” he rolled his eyes. He said something to Liana about Tashi. And now, looking at her, trying to remember what he said; It couldn’t be anything good. It must have been something awful because the speed at which she distanced herself from him and the look she had would be etched in his mind forever. Why doesn’t he remember what he said? How is she supposed to believe he’s sorry if he doesn’t remember what he said?
“Do you want to play a set?” she asked, and usually, he would jump at the chance to play with Tashi, but it was already the time Liana was supposed to go to her lecture, and maybe today she would leave her room. “No, I think I’m done for today. It can't get any better from here. I need to shower. Good to see you.” He gave her a light touch on the shoulder and headed to the locker rooms. Liana would've definitely noticed that his smile was fake. He stood in front of her room as the door opened. If he thought he looked awful, Liana looked devastating. She looked like she hadn't slept for a month, like she had cried half her life. Her face was swollen, her eyes were red, and dark circles surrounded them.
Her mouth was half open as she looked at him. Both of them tensed, standing in place, unable to speak. “Li…” he started, seeing her begin to breathe heavily in response. “Can we tal-” he needs to make it right. He knows he can make her feel better if she lets him. “You have some nerve,” she mumbled, turning to lock the door, but he knew it was an excuse not to look at him. He knew if he could make her look at him long enough, he could get her to talk to him. He could manage to apologize. “Liana, please.” His voice was weak, begging for attention.
She started walking quickly, and he followed her, keeping pace. “I need us to talk, Liana. Please. It’s me. Give me five minutes. Li-” he spoke, and she stopped abruptly. “Did I stutter when I said you’re the worst person I know, and I never want to see you again?” she asked, her eyes filling with tears that would fall if she just blinked. He knew it was from anger and frustration. Art closed his eyes and swallowed, taking a breath. Her words cut him like a knife. “I know-” he started again.
“Arthur,” she paused for a moment, studying him. He hoped she saw the immense suffering he was in. How sorry he was. That he didn’t mean it. That he needed her in his life. That he might lose himself entirely if she wasn’t a part of him. “Right now, I’m in mourning. As far as I’m concerned, I’m sitting Shiva for you because you’re dead.” She looked at him, still not blinking, not allowing herself to be vulnerable in front of him again. “Do you want me to beg? I can beg.” His voice was weak again. He felt the tightness that comes before tears start to flow. “Unlike someone I know, I don’t get off on humiliating others. Enjoy your life, Art. I hope you get everything you want as long as I’m not part of it.” She concluded the conversation and walked away. He didn’t continue following her, feeling all his internal organs shrink at the sight of her moving away. And maybe she’s right; Maybe he’s really already dead, and this is hell.
The month since the phone call with Liana passed slowly for Patrick. He wasn’t functioning properly. There was a tournament he only made it through two rounds of, and Liana wasn’t answering his calls. For his part, he wasn’t answering Art’s calls. Not that Art called much. About three times, then he probably got the hint. Patrick had nothing to say to him.
Liana called that night and sounded in the worst state he had ever heard her. Worse than that time she broke her arm in the summer at age 15 when they were riding bikes. And that says a lot because her pain threshold is quite high, and if Art managed to make her react like that, he must have done something terrible.
Liana didn’t tell him in that call what Art did, and when Patrick asked if she wanted him to come to her (he really meant dropping everything and going to Stanford), she said she’d rather he didn’t.
So, a month later, with a free weekend, Patrick found himself wandering around Stanford with a bag containing a racket and some clothes. 'If you arrive early, ask Art for the key he has; maybe he’ll give it to you,' she texted him, and he could almost hear her voice through the screen. Broken. Art Donaldson, his best friend, broke her. He wasn’t sure he could look him in the eyes again.
“What are you doing here?” Tashi’s voice sounded from behind him. They hadn’t talked since the fight in her room a few months ago. “Looking for Art, actually…” he mumbled, lowering his gaze to her knee, “Sorry about the injury.” He didn’t know what to say, and she just shrugged.
She looked small and almost fragile. Something in her gaze was shattered. “Yeah, bad move.” She swallowed. Tried to be strong about it. The truth is, he read about it in a sports magazine and wanted to call but didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know how to help from afar, and he didn’t know if Tashi wanted his help. “What do the doctors say?” he asked as she sat on the bench in the stands, looking at him and expecting him to do the same. “That time will tell? And we need to see how the physiotherapy goes.” She smiled, but her smile was fake; he saw the sadness in her eyes. She wasn’t trying to hide it much.
“I’m sorry, Tash.” Patrick sighed. He really didn’t know how to help. “Art was amazing through all of this. He really helped me.” She examined Patrick and his reaction. “I’m glad he was here.” He said sincerely. He knew that when Art wanted to dedicate himself to someone, he did it in the best possible way.
“I’m sorry for how it ended between us, you know that, right?” he asked after a few seconds of silence. “Yeah, Patrick, I know.” She almost rolled her eyes. “Are you going to fix what he broke?” she asked, and he looked at her with a raised eyebrow. “There’s a shift in his behavior. I don’t know what happened, but something in him changed. He doesn’t talk about you or Liana anymore. It’s a bit weird considering how much time he used to dedicate to both of you.” She said, as if reading his confusion.
“I don’t know if it’s possible to fix what he did, Tash.” He sighed. “Time will tell?” she asked, repeating what her physiotherapist said, and they both knew it probably wasn’t true.
Art waved hesitantly from afar, causing Patrick to nod and get up. “I’m sorry, Tashi. Really. You can call me if you need anything, you know that, right?” he asked. “I won’t do that.” She rolled her eyes, “But thanks,” she concluded the conversation for him.
“Hey.” Art said and quickly ran a hand over his neck. “What’s up?” Patrick asked relatively coldly. They hadn’t talked for a month, the longest they hadn’t spoken since they were 12. For a moment, it felt like talking to a stranger. “Why are you here?” Art asked, skipping the small talk and looking at him with a scrutinizing gaze. Trying to figure out if this was a friendly visit or if he needed to prepare for a battle he didn’t get an advance invitation to.
“I don’t know how to say this, Art,” Patrick mumbled. “Then don’t say it, Patrick,” Art rolled his eyes in response. He felt his heart racing. He realized he was about to lose Patrick.
“Art, come on,” “This is between me and her, Patrick. It doesn’t have to be between us too.” Art said, almost begging. “I need the key to Liana’s room.” Patrick sighed quietly. “Fuck off.” Art started to walk away, showing him a middle finger and laughing a laugh that sounded almost deranged. “Tell Liana if she wants the key her father gave me, all she has to do is come to me and ask.” With that, he left the court, leaving Patrick alone. Well, with Tashi as an audience in the stands.
"So, I guess the key thing didn't work out?" Patrick was sitting in the hallway across from Liana's room, absorbed in his phone, when he heard her voice. Almost amused. Almost like he remembered her. He stood up quickly, scrutinizing her, wanting to see every part of the girl he remembered. To see that she was whole. To see that she wasn't broken.
"I'm fine, Patrick. You can hug me," she rolled her eyes, and he did just that. He hugged her and refused to let go, closing his eyes and inhaling her intoxicating scent. He hadn't realized how much he missed her in the month she barely communicated with him. He didn't understand how much he worried about her until he laid eyes on her.
"Do you want to come in, or are we going to stand like weirdos in the hallway a bit longer?" she asked. "You're mean," he responded and pulled away from her. Not too much. Just enough so they could enter, and he could hug her again.
"Hey," he said once they were inside and he pulled away from her for the second time. He examined her again. She looked tired. Not different from how she looked the last time he saw her. But that time, she had a spark. That time, Art's hand was on her thigh in front of him. That time, he played a part in breaking her. She would never know, but Patrick did it. Patrick caused Art to behave like a wounded animal. Patrick knew exactly what he was doing. He threw him a bone, and Art couldn't resist; he had to ruin everything.
"We have to go to his game tomorrow," she said after they sat quietly on her bed for a few minutes. "What?" he asked, looking at her. "His parents will be there. They know there was something between us, but they don't know we're not talking. And it's already too many changes with me leaving and all. I have to be there, and now that you're here, you have to come with me." She smiled at him. He knew it wasn't a genuine smile. He knew if he didn't go with her, she'd feel even more fragile.
Patrick knew Art. Patrick knew Art even better than Liana. He knew Art lived for opportunities like the one he'd have tomorrow. Liana had to come to his game, sit with his parents, be disciplined, and meet the standards their families held for her. Art was born to exploit opportunities like these.
"Okay. We'll go, and at the end of his game, we'll come up with an excuse. Something about you having an exam, and we have to leave." His arm was around her as she leaned on his shoulder. "What did he say when you asked him for the key?" Liana asked. "Amanda," Patrick sighed. "Just tell me." "That if you want it, you should ask him yourself," he told the truth and felt her nod. "Do you want that key so badly?" he asked, looking at her again. "No. He can choke on it for all I care," she shrugged, but the smile she gave him was fake.
"Can I tell you something without you thinking I'm crazy and a stalker?" Patrick began the conversation for which he came. He moved away from her a bit, sitting across from her. He needed to see every expression. Every facial change. He needed to understand if she was telling him the truth. "You're scaring me, Patrick Zwieg. Come on, say what you have to say. Did you put a camera in the Stanford bathrooms?" she joked, making him give her a light slap on the shoulder. "Be serious," he commanded, and she nodded in response, removing any hint of humor from her face.
"My parents changed their minds about tennis," he said, and her eyes widened. "Really?" she asked, her smile starting to widen. She was happy for him. She knew that to succeed, he needed their support. "They gave me a five-year plan. They said I need to take some business courses twice a week. The rest of the days, they’ll fund an apartment, a coach, and tournaments," he continued explaining to her.
"Patrick, that's wonderful. That's great news. I'm so happy for you." She was ecstatic. He saw it on her. It was a joy that couldn't be faked. The kind that made him smile too. "Now for the creepy part. Don't hate me, okay, Li? Because I see how you get when you hate Art, and I don't want to be that person-" he started rambling. "You would never treat me the way Art treated me," she interrupted him. He saw her jaw tighten. Realizing that was a bad example. "They know someone who knows Kirk Morcich, and he saw videos of me and said I have potential..." He saw she was losing him, not understanding what he was talking about and why he was rambling incoherently, "It's in London. I'll be in London." He concluded. Watching her expression.
You can say many things about Liana, but she doesn't know how to hide what she feels. Her emotions always go a step ahead of her. She wears them on her face like a parade of shame. Blushing too easily, shaking when angry, crying immediately when hurt. She can't lie about feelings. Either she feels them, or they're not there. "Are you serious?" she asked, her eyes starting to sparkle. She wouldn't be alone. Patrick would be with her. So many possibilities. "Tell me it's a good thing and you don't hate me," he said, completely nervous. "Pat, this is the best news I've heard in the past month. I could kiss you," she said and jumped on him in a hug. For the first time in a month, Liana was happy.
Art’s parents recognized them in the middle of their conversation with, well, Art. "Liana, you even look more grown-up. I can't believe you're leaving us like this," Christine, his mother, pulled her into a hug without a second thought. "Mom, let her breathe..." Art said. There was no visible discomfort on him. He was acting as usual. "How are you, sweetheart? Are you eating properly? You look thinner!" she examined her from all angles. "Are you taking care of her?" she turned to her son, who swallowed nervously, unsure how to approach the situation. "Everything's great, Christine. I'm eating all the time," she smiled. Both Art and Patrick knew it was a fake smile. A smile that looked like she had practiced it in front of a mirror. One that revealed teeth but didn't characterize her.
"Unfortunately, we probably won't be able to stay for the game. I just wanted to say hello and wish you good luck," Liana didn't look at Art at all, just glanced at him and saw his fingers moving uncontrollably. "Why, honey? We wanted you both to have dinner with us afterward. To catch up. I'll tell you about all the places in London where you can go and feel surrounded by Americans, so you won't be alone for a moment," his mother was lovely. She really loved Liana as if she were her daughter. It warmed Liana's heart and at the same time made her so angry. How could Art take and destroy such a relationship for a momentary whim?
"I already told Art earlier that I have some project due tomorrow, and Patrick said that if he's already here, he could help me. I hope that's okay." She still didn't look at him. Patrick, on the other hand, looked at him. Art changed colors. He didn't know how to handle the current situation. Throughout it, Liana was better than him at maneuvering the situation. "And besides, I won't feel alone in London. Patrick will be with me." This time she looked directly at Art, and her smile was genuine. It was unmistakable. "Really? How did that happen?" Art's father, Tim, intervened in the conversation. "Long story, something about a coach whose name I can't remember, but it's so great that everything worked out like this, and I won't have to start from scratch." She spoke quickly, lowering her gaze from Art just to give her attention to his mother, who nodded with a smile of her own, not understanding everything happening beneath the surface in this conversation.
"It's a shame you can't stay for the game; after all, you're his lucky charm," she said after a few more exchanged words. "Maybe it's time to find a new lucky charm," Liana replied, and everyone laughed. Some genuine, some fake.
Patrick, at that moment, observed Art, whose gaze was already fixed on him and didn’t let go for a second. Art didn’t laugh. Hello there!!! How are we doing? Patrick is really stepping up his game for our girl! As usual, I'd like to hear any thouths you have. attention.
★ – satoru wants your attention ;)
18+, mdni !!
Tumblr media
☆ – this is my first time writing smut, sorry if it's bad :p pluzzz english is not my first language !
– ★ –
you knew you should've known better than to invite your friends to go out with you. not that they were bad or something, much the contrary. it's just that you knew he would come along, he always did. even after you broke up, a few months ago, he'd still make sure to go to every party you've been thinking about going to.
if it was just him being there, it'd be completely alright, you weren't children and could stay at the same room for a few hours without fighting. it would all be perfectly fine if satoru wasn't an attention seeker, doing his best to catch your attention and even ruining your potential dates.
it was always the same: every time a guy would even try to even look at you or try to approach you, he'd just wrap his arm around your waist in a possessive way while staring directly at the guy, or he'd just kiss the first person he saw in front of you, just to see if it'd bother you. it always did, even though you'd rather die than admit it. and, unfortunately for you, tonight was not different.
you were laughing at a joke a guy had just told you, a margarita in one hand while the other one landed on his large arm, a small smirk on your lips as you watched him practically eye fucking you. if you were lucky enough, you'd end up having more fun than planned at the end of the night. but, of course, all your plans were ruined again as soon as the white haired man came in scene.
“princess, you said you'd only get some drinks and come back, why are you taking so long?” his whiny voice echoed in your ears as his face approached your neck, leaving a wet kiss on it while his long arms snaked around your waist, pulling your body closer to his. “oh, and who would that be?”
you gritted your teeth in annoyance at the man behind you, holding the urge to punch him right in face. you could feel the smirk in his voice as he stared at the poor guy, who watched the scene with a confused expression. “oh baby, is this guy bothering you? knew i shouldn't have left you alone, now everyone thinks they could talk to such a pretty thing like ya. now, buddy, will ya excuse us? need to have my girlfriend back.”
“satoru, fuck off. we already broke up months ago, stop acting like we're together.” you protested, trying to leave his embrace but he only tightened it, squeezing your waist.
“umm, sorry, i should leave now.” the guy said sheepishly, his face beet red as he quickly left the two of you alone.
and you just sat there in disbelief, your hand gripping the cup so tightly you thought it might break at any moment. gojo laughed childishly, making your even more angrier as you slapped his arm, rolling your eyes as he whined in your ear, telling you how mean you are.
“satoru, what in the fucking hell is wrong with you?!”
“what? can't i protect what's mine?” he answered simply, leaving a playful bite at your earlobe.
“i'm not yours and you know that damn well. stop acting like an asshole every time we go out!”
“is that so?” he smirked again, letting go of your body just to stand in front of you. his large hand carefully held your chin as it pulled you closer to his face, the delicious mix of his expensive cologne and the smell of the alcohol on his breath invading your nose. “if you hate it so much, why do you keep inviting me, baby? hm? hoping to wake up in my bed again?”
“fuck you, satoru.” you harshly reply, wanting to leave him alone but not being able to move a single muscle, your own body betraying you. your eyes flick to his rosy lips, then back to his blue eyes again. ignoring the way your brain yelled at you to stop, your body moved closer to his, your lips softly brushing against his before closing the gap, a quiet moan leaving both your mouths at the contact.
and that is how you ended up in this situation: your legs thrown over his shoulders as his hips hit the back of your thighs repeatedly, the loud sound of slapping skin echoing through his room. satoru's grip on your plush thighs were almost bruising the skin as his cock bullied the inside of your pussy, his tip kissing all the right spots with every thrust.
“fuck, baby, you're so hot.” he managed to say between his moans “missed– fuck– missed your pretty pussy... always take me so well.”
you moan loudly at his raspy voice, your pussy clenching hard around his dick as your hand sneaked between your legs to rub quick circles on your clit. it's barely been five minutes and you could already feel the knot tightening inside your stomach, your legs shaking lightly. and, of course, satoru noticed, how could he not when it was so hard to move when your pussy was squeezing his dick so much?
“gonna cum, pretty girl?” he smirk, his hand replacing your on your throbbing clit. “just f'me, right? you're all mine. bet that guy wouldn't even be able to satisfy you, you'd probably leave unsatisfied and come back to me, huh.”
“fuck, 'toru, just like that.” your moans are like music to his ears, and he makes sure to get them out of you with every move of his hips. your hands massaged your boobs through the lacy bra, pinching your sensitive nipples as you feel his cock massaging repeatedly your g-spot. your high came shortly after a few strokes of his, your whole body shaking in pleasure.
you whine loudly at the overstimulation, his cock never leaving your sensitive cunt, fucking it mercilessly. satoru groaned in your neck, biting it hard while he came inside you, his thrusts slowing down and becoming sloppier, his sticky cum painting your insides, as he was making a mess because he wouldn't stop even after cumming.
“t-toru, ah... too much, baby” he laughed quietly at your whiny voice, finally stopping the attack on your pussy. he slowly pulled back, his now soft dick leaving your warm cunt as he smiled at the mess he made.
“hmm, would've ruined your date earlier if i knew i could get to fuck you like this.” he joked while teasing your sensitive entrance with his long fingers, watching you shudder. he then kneeled down in front of you, his mouth leaving a wet kiss on your clit. “we're not done yet, pretty, need to make up for the time we lost.”

The Fuck Up Chapter 3
Summary:  Bucky fucked up.  A few times.  Will his best friend ever be able to forgive him?
Warnings: language, smut, mentions of war, injury, pregnancy
Tumblr media
The next morning Bucky woke to a loud buzzing. He shifted around until he could find his pants and rummaged through his pockets, pulling out his phone and trying to see who was calling him.
“Hello?” he said hoarsely.
“Where are you?” Becca said, her voice sounding worried and annoyed.
“What? I…” Bucky turned and looked around, remembering the night before. He looked at Y/N, still asleep next to him. “I fell asleep at Y/N’s,” he said quickly.
“God, of course you did,” Becca sighed exasperatedly. “You’re supposed to leave for the airport in an hour. Are you even packed?”
“Yes, yes I’m ready,” Bucky said quietly as he got up slowly and gathered up his clothes. “I’ll be home soon.”
“Okay. Is Y/N coming to the airport with us?”
Bucky froze at that. He didn’t know how he was even going to have this conversation with her as he left, let alone if she were to come with him to the airport to say goodbye. “Uh…I’m not sure.”
“Alright, well, get home soon, Mom is freaking out as usual.”
“I will. Bye.”
Bucky hung up and slipped his clothes on quickly. As he fixed his hair and put his shoes on he looked back at Y/N. He didn’t know if he’d be able to handle waking her and saying goodbye. Last night had been so perfect, he didn’t want to ruin it. He sighed as he walked to her side of the bed, kneeling down to look at her. She snored lightly, her eyes moving behind her eyelids as she dreamed. He smiled at her, carefully moving some of her hair back in place and out of her eyes. He leaned in and kissed her cheek.
“I’m leaving,” he whispered. “I don’t think I can handle saying goodbye to you again. So I won’t wake you. Either way, you’ll hate me for it. But I’ll be back,” he kissed her shoulder, adjusting the blankets around her. “I’ll come home to you.” A tear slid down his face as he stared at her one more time. “I love you.”
Bucky sent her a text after he left basically saying the same thing that he had whispered to her. He knew this was a massive fuck up, but it was too late now. He’d come home to her and fix it, and everything would be okay. It had to be.
10 months later
Bucky came home hurt, both physically and emotionally. He was grateful it was his final tour. He and Steve had survived, barely. The landmine had thrown them both and killed two of the other troops on his team. He had made it out alive, but the shrapnel that had embedded into his back had taken two surgeries to remove. He was still healing when he got off the plane and was greeted by his family.
“Oh you made it,” Winifred cried heavily, George and Becca hugging him and crying. “You are never going back, you hear me? No more, I will not allow it.”
“I’m done, Ma, I’m done,” Bucky chuckled. “I’m officially discharged. Retired.”
“Good,” Winifred said, patting down his uniform and looking him over.
“Where’s Y/N?” Bucky asked, looking around expectantly.  Becca then punched his arm. “Ow! What the hell?” he yelped.
“We will talk about it when we get home,” she hissed at him.
When they reached the house Becca rounded on him. “What did you do?”
“Excuse me?” Bucky asked.
“What did you do to Y/N?” Becca snarled. Bucky’s eyes widened. He hadn’t heard from Y/N since he left, which was out of the ordinary because she always wrote to him, but he thought for sure she would have been there to greet him when he got home. He hadn’t been able to worry about it too much, what with special operations and the whole trying-not-to-die-part, then healing from nearly getting killed.  “She disappeared after you left. I’ve tried calling, her number is disconnected.” Winifred sniffled next to him. “I tried going to her apartment, the landlord says she no longer lives there.” Bucky’s brow furrowed. She loved that apartment. “I even reached out to her adoptive family, who of course know nothing.  All her social media is deactivated. We haven’t been able to find her. So I will ask again, what did you do?”
Bucky was afraid. He knew it wasn’t the right thing to leave her without waking her up and saying goodbye, he just couldn’t bear it.  And now she is gone? “I…we…”
Becca’s face twisted with recognition. “Oh my god…you fucked her.”
“You what?!” George and Winifred exclaimed.
Bucky hung his head into his hands. “Yes, okay, the night before I left. But you make it sound so gross, it wasn’t like that,” he said, running his hands through his now short hair.
“Explain,” Becca demanded.
“I…look, it just happened. I was leaving and we were both sad and when I woke up the next morning I just couldn’t…I couldn’t stand to wake her up and say goodbye again so I…I texted her and then I left.”
“You…you TEXTED HER?!” Becca screamed, jumping forward and hitting him again.
“Ow! I know, hey, I KNOW!” Bucky yelled back at her, pushing her hands away. “I know I fucked up! Okay? I’ve regretted it ever since. Not her, but leaving like that. I just thought…I don’t know what I was thinking. It was stupid and I was hoping when I got home I could fix it.” He took a shaky breath. “She never wrote to me. And I was worried when you guys had said you hadn’t seen her in a while but, now she’s gone?” He sat on the chair at the table next to him. “Gone…”
They all sat in silence for a moment. Becca was the first to move, sighing heavily as she walked over and took the seat across from him. “You’re right, you fucked up real bad.” Bucky scoffed as he wiped his face with his hands. “We’re still looking for her. If there’s anything you can think of that might help us, then great. Otherwise,” she reached over and grabbed his hand. “I’m happy you’re safe and you’re home, but I’m really angry with you.”
Bucky nodded, squeezing her hand.

Somebody I Used to Know - pt 2
CW: mention of death threats
Pt 1 ao3
Eddie stands staring at the peeling paint on Steve’s apartment door. It looks more worn since the last time he saw it. Maybe it looks how Eddie feels. A little beat up and tired.
He’s been thinking about this moment for months, and now that he’s standing there, he feels like he’s making a terrible mistake.
There’s the hum of music behind the door, it’s dampened by the structure and it tugs at something inside of Eddie’s chest.
He shouldn’t be here.
Steve’s moved on.
He shouldn’t be here.
When Dustin told Eddie what happened before his visit, Eddie wanted to walk into oncoming traffic. He felt lower than dirt. He felt like he didn’t deserve to even hear Steve’s name. But he also knew he needed to apologize.
Steve thinks Eddie dropped him like a sack of potatoes and the truth is so far from that.
It took him weeks to build up the courage and drive down here. Jeff tried to convince him to let it go, but he couldn’t. He deserves to be yelled at. Steve should get to punch him in the face if he wants. Eddie could’ve handled the break up so much better than he did but hindsight is 20/20.
He hears footsteps on the other side of the door and it kicks his anxiety up. He can’t do this. He spins on his heels and tries to bolt down the hallway when he hears Steve’s door open.
Steve swings a trash bag around while shutting his door and almost runs into Eddie’s back.
“Oh, sorry- Eddie?”
Eddie ignores the pang in his chest and awkwardly hugs his arms around himself.
“Hi.”
Steve sighs then ducks around Eddie gripping the trash a little tighter. Eddie doesn’t move and watches Steve bound down the one flight of stairs, and stalk across the small parking lot to the dumpster. If Steve’s already seen him then he might as well do what he came here for.
It’s time to face the music.
When Steve comes back, now empty handed, he continues to ignore Eddie, weaving around him to get to his door.
“I wanted to-,” Eddie stutters out just before Steve slams his door behind him. “Right.”
With a heavy sigh Eddie leans against the wall near the now closed blockade, and contemplates if he should still stay the night at his Uncle’s place or drive home now.
Suddenly, Steve’s door is flying open and the man’s head pops out. His hair is disheveled like he was running his hands through it.
“What are you doing here?”
“I, uh, I drove my ass down here in my shitty van to apologize.” Eddie gives Steve a weak smile that he doesn’t think is helping.
“Dustin,” Steve rolls his eyes then ducks back into his apartment shutting the door behind him.
Eddie doesn’t know what’s going on but feels like he should stay put. After a few moments he hears Steve’s voice through the door. It sounds like he’s yelling at someone, and Eddie thinks he should be worried for Dustin.
The door flies open again and Steve’s cheeks are flush. The view shouldn’t look as appealing as it does to Eddie but it’s been months since he’s seen this man’s face.
“Well?” Steve shrugs but doesn’t step out of the door or motion Eddie inside.
“Uh, yeah. Ok, I am so sorry, Steve.” Eddie takes a cautious step forward. “I know I should’ve told you what was going on but it was kinda rushed and I couldn’t. I didn’t want to leave. Believe me, I would’ve never left you if I- fuck,” Eddie’s hands are shaking and this isn’t going how he rehearsed.
Steve huffs and wears his disbelief clearly across his face. Eddie falters and feels like maybe he should cut his losses.
“Y’know what? Um, I’m not explaining this right. Can I come in?”
Steve stares at him, chewing on his bottom lip while he mulls it over. Eddie’s holding his breath while he watches Steve’s face go through a couple of emotions before he slips a look of determination on.
He motions inside and with a roll of his eyes disappears out of view. This time, though, Steve leaves the door open and Eddie nervously follows behind him.
When Eddie steps into the apartment his senses are immediately overwhelmed. It’s warm, smells like a mixture of lemon and laundry, and Material Girl is playing quietly in the background. Eddie sees a small laundry basket filled with folded clothes resting on the couch and a vacuum cleaner stands near the TV.
Steve leans against a wall in the living room, his arms crossed tightly against his chest and Eddie is trying not stare at the shirt spread across Steve’s biceps.
“So? You were trying to say?”
“Can I?” Eddie motions to the empty spot on the couch and Steve shrugs in response. “Thanks. You look like you were busy. I won’t stay long.”
Eddie sits down and leans his elbows onto his knees, and takes a deep breath before looking up into Steve’s eyes. Steve is staring back and he looks nervous for the first time since Eddie showed up.
“You look good,” Eddie says weakly.
Steve’s bottom lip is quivering and looks seconds away from screaming at him.
“I’ll start from the beginning.” Eddie swallows hard then continues. “I was getting death threats, Steve. So many death threats. So was Uncle Wayne but they were more about me being there than about him.” Eddie rubs his palms over his thighs. “The last one was, uh, a pipe bomb.”
“What?”
“Wayne found it sticking out from under the truck. He went out for a smoke and saw it. He called the cops and they came out and disarmed it but there was a letter.” Eddie wipes his knuckle under his eye. “They weren’t going to stop until I was dead. Or Wayne. Or you.” Eddie’s voice cracks and he has to look away. “They saw us together. Not, not like together, but hanging out. Dustin, Gareth, Hellfire, fucking Jeff. They listed everyone’s name. Fucking Erica. I had to leave, Steve.”
Steve rushes to the couch, moving the basket to the floor and slides next to Eddie. Eddie can feel Steve’s palm press against his back and the touch breaks something inside of him. He twists on his seat and buries his face into Steve’s chest. He’s shaking as the guilt and shame he’s felt for months spills from his eyes.
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
Eddie shakes his head and can feel his hair rubbing against Steve’s shirt.
“Eddie?” Steve’s tugging the man from his chest and Eddie can hear the tears in his voice too. “Sh-should you even be here?”
“Probably not, I don’t know. It’s been months. I needed to see you and apologize. When Dustin told me how upset you were, how angry, I had to fix it. I never wanted to hurt you.” Eddie drops his hands and stares at a stain on Steve’s jeans. “They had to rush us out. It was too dangerous. We couldn’t tell anyone. Didn’t want to risk any of you getting hurt.”
“Fuck,” Steve’s shoulders slouch. “So? You didn’t suddenly hate me?”
“No,” Eddie groans. “Not even close.”
“Wait, so does Dustin know what happened?”
“No, I told him some shit about a new band. An opportunity I had to jump on.”
Steve hums and then slumps back onto the couch. His head falls onto the cushion, and he stares at the ceiling.
“I hated you so much. Now I feel kinda shitty about that.”
“Yeah, I kinda deserved it.”
“No you didn’t,” Steve slaps the back of his hand against Eddie’s leg. “No you fucking didn’t.”
Eddie watches Steve’s fingers still resting against his thigh. He wants to slip his fingers between them and feel the touch of Steve’s palm. The ache he’s felt in his chest for months is expanding painfully the longer he sits next to the man.
“Anyway,” Eddie slides to his feet. “I’ve taken enough of your Saturday. I should go.” Steve looks up at him and Eddie doesn’t think he’s looked more gorgeous. “Thanks for listening.”
“Do you have to?” Steve asks while moving to his feet. “You just got here, is all.”
“Well, I didn’t really schedule this drop in. Figured you had plans, or,” Eddie averts his eyes can’t say this while looking at Steve. “Or thought you probably had a date or something.”
Steve snickers, “No, I don’t really do that anymore. Got my heart broken. Taking a break.”
Eddie shoves his hands in his pockets and sighs heavily through his nostrils. He chews on his bottom lip trying to keep more tears at bay.
“Yeah, me too.”
“Stay for a little bit. Please?”
Eddie rocks on his heels and can’t help but smile.
“Ok, put me to work, Harrington.”
Steve shakes his head with a small grin. “I’ve seen you clean, you sit there and tell me about Chicago instead.”
“I can do that.” Eddie slides past Steve, their bodies touching briefly, and sits back on the couch. “I missed you.”
Steve grabs his laundry basket and hooks it on his hip. “I missed you too.”

“Restock day.”
Eddie’s eyes shot open as his hand gripped the phone, nearly pulling the cord straight out of the receiver as he shot out of bed.
All he needed to hear was those two words and he was given the adrenaline needed to get himself out of bed and get ready all within the span of five short minutes.
He had finally finished pulling his shirt over his head before reaching back for the forgotten phone laying on his mattress,
“Ready in five!” He shouted to Grant on the other end, not knowing wether he had hung up or not.
His hair was still a mess, and he was certain the jeans he grabbed from the pile of clothes on his floor definitely still had dirt stains all over them, but he didn’t care. It was restock day at the local record store. That’s all he cared about.
Once a month he and the rest of the guys would wake up early and head over to be the first ones in line before the store opened. They’d be up and ready to go with their lists in hand of what to look out for, knowing that if they didn’t leave with at least one then there’d be hell to pay.
Eddie sat on his stoop, ready to go for whenever he spotted Grants car pull through the park entrance. He wasn’t out there for more than a few moments before hearing the gravel crunching under the wheels of a car that was definitely going too fast for those types of roads. They’d get a few dirty looks from a couple of older residents as they left the park, but it was a price they were willing to pay for being able to still get there on time.
Eddie ran up as soon as he could see the rusted bumper on the front, hopping into the back seat next to Jeff.
“Still on time?” Eddie asked as he fixed himself in his seat.
“Still on time.” Grant said back as he looked to Eddie in the rear view mirror.
“I think if we gun it on the back roads we’ll get there earlier than planned.” Gareth said as he turned from the passenger seat.
“We already go at least 70 on these,” Jeff argued, “let’s not try and kill ourselves like last time.”
“Last time wasn’t my fault!” Eddie laughed, “I was being a good samaritan and letting those ducks pass the road.”
“You slammed on the breaks so hard i almost flew through the window.” Jeff said, earning a laugh from the boys up front.
“I think i still have a rug burn scar from the seatbelt.” Grant laughed.
After a quick drive and debrief of the records they were looking for, Grant quickly pulled into the parking lot. Each let out a sigh of relief as they saw that there were only three other cars in the lot, a few people gathered outside the door. They got into their spot and jogged to join in the small group waiting to get inside, thankful that they got there before the swarm of cars and a few kids on bicycles entered the lot. Within five minutes the parking lot was filled and there was a line that reached almost out to the street.
They paid no attention to the crowd behind them, doing their best to patiently wait for those final agonizing minutes before 10 am. When the doors were finally unlocked it was like some of the people behind them had never been in public before.
They were shoving past to get to the newest pop releases, and the boys paid them no mind as they headed over to the much less crowded rock section to scan through the full bins of the owners newest finds.
The boys scattered, each of them looking through the various bins and crates, moving onto the next as soon as they finished flipping through them. Eddie was in the zone as he flipped through a few older records he’d seen time and time again, not even noticing someone flipping through the same bin on the opposite side. His fingers moved quickly and stopped as soon as he saw it.
Alice Coopers new album was finally out, and he knew it had to be his the moment he heard ‘Prince of Darkness’ playing in that John Carpenter movie. He grasped the top of it and turned to show the guys, but he was pulled back as he felt it being tugged in the opposite direction. Eddie turned back to see who was trying to get this record from out of his hands, and he stopped for a moment when his eyes met yours.
He didn’t know what came over him.
A girl, a really pretty girl, was stood at the other side of the crate of records, holding the top of the record on the opposite side. And you weren’t letting go.
The boys glanced over, Eddie already having grabbed their attention before only made them stare. He was just standing there. Standing and staring.
Your eyes were locked onto his. This same scenario has happened to you countless amounts of times. You’d spot a record or a tape in a shop the same time as someone else and waited to see who would give in first. And it was never you.
But this one seemed different to you.
He wasn’t like the other guys that had gotten into this situation with you. He wasn’t moving his eyes over your body or trying to get a peek at the logo on your shirt to see if you were even a fan of this kind of music. He was just looking at you, with those deep brown eyes that you couldn’t help but look into.
All you could do was look at one another, waiting for the other to take their hand off the record to finally get it into their hands. And there’s no way in hell you were going to give in.
The rest of the guys watched the interaction from their spots at the crates, their eyes widening as they watched Eddie slowly take his hand away from the record.
He smiled to you as he let his hand drop.
“All yours.” He nodded.
You looked down at the record in your hands and looked back up to him,
“What’s your name?” You asked him.
His eyes widened for a moment, taking a quick glance around to see if he was the one you were asking, earning a giggle from you.
“Eddie.” He said, pursing his lips, knowing that the guys were no doubt going to rag on him for not only letting go of this record, but letting go of it just because the girl on the other end was pretty.
He knew they’d do the same, he was just the first to do it.
“Thanks Eddie.” You smiled and looked him over before walking over around the crate up to the line forming at the counter.
Eddie watched as you walked away, smiling to himself as he went back to sorting through the records before him. The guys finished looking through their crates and slowly made their way over to Eddie, their records in hand, ready to head up to the register while Eddie still had nothing.
“What the hell was that?” Gareth asked as he stood next to Eddie.
“What? I’m sorry, should i have just ripped that out of that hot girls’ hand and said ‘dibs’?”
“No, i’m just saying you gave that up so easily,” Gareth glanced back over at you in line, “all for a girl?”
“A HOT girl. And who am i to deny a hot girl the right to listen to good music?” Eddie laughed to himself.
“Well good luck trying to find that record again,” Jeff said as he handed Eddie the Anthrax album he asked them to keep an eye out for, “a bunch of these have multiples but i don’t think i saw any more of that Alice Cooper record.”
“I’ll find it again. And if i don’t, it wasn’t meant to be.” Eddie shrugged as he got to the last record, pulling it out as soon as he recognized the Tesla logo on the front. He held it in his hands and took the Anthrax record from Jeff as they went to meet Grant in line.
Eddie glanced around and saw you at the front of the line, scribbling down something on a little piece of paper in front of you.
“How’d the search go?” Grant asked the guys as they huddled around him in line.
“Fine, except for the fact that Eddie gave up one of the only albums he was looking for to some girl.” Gareth groaned.
“What’s so wrong about that?” Eddie pleaded.
“She still here?” Grant asked Eddie, with Eddie quickly pointing you out as you finished up at the register, “Damn… Good call on that.”
“Thank you! Finally someone gets why i did it.” Eddie exclaimed, not noticing you approaching him until he felt one of the guys nudge his arm.
You smiled as you stood before Eddie, holding out a little piece of paper to him,
“Here.” You smiled as he opened it, watching his eyes widen a bit, “Just in case you ever wanted to borrow it.”
Eddie and the guys stayed quiet as they all looked at the slip of paper in his hands.
It was the written out receipt for the record you just bought, your name and phone number scribbled onto the front. Eddie quickly looked up to say his goodbyes, but by the time he was pulled from his trance you were nowhere to be seen.
They hadn’t even noticed the line moving in front of them until they heard a shout from someone behind them. They shuffled forward, Eddie neatly folding up the receipt in his hand and placing it onto his pocket with a smug grin on his face as he looked back to Gareth and Jeff,
“Which one of you was complaining about me giving up that record?”
The two of them were silent, Eddie laughing to himself as he turned to move with the line.
He looked down at the piece of paper in his hand, quickly putting it into his pocket to keep it safe as they stepped forward with the line.
There was nothing he loved more than restock day.

"Pedriiii - Bonus Chapter''
N/A: And as promised, here is the bonus chapter. Have a look at how things are going for Pedri, Isa, and Axel. I hope you enjoy it.
Ps: I just realized now that this image might contain spoilers. lol
Tumblr media
One Month Later
Axel was a very active and talkative child, especially when he felt comfortable around someone. It was like that with Pedri, with his friends, and also with the player’s family. Seeing him now, sitting in complete silence, was strange, mainly because he was about to do something he had always wanted, ever since he had understood it, and had tirelessly asked Isa to be able to go onto the field with Pedri. When the request came directly from his favorite player, Axel was over the moon. Isa didn’t even know how to calm him down, he was so excited about the invitation. Hours and days were talking about it excitedly, and now that the day had finally arrived, all that energy had passed, when it should have been the opposite.
“Well, at least we know that when he becomes a player he will be very focused,” Gavi said beside Isa while looking at the little boy.
“I love how you all already assume he will be a player,” Isa said reluctantly. Fernando looked at her and laughed.
“I love how you haven’t accepted that he will be a player yet,” Fer said, standing up and patting Isa on the shoulder. “You need to accept the facts, it will be less painful when it happens,” he said humorously. Isa rolled her eyes at him. She knew that the chances of Axel wanting to pursue a football career were high; he had inherited his grandfather’s passion for the sport. Now, with the presence of the club’s players in his life, Isa was sure that this would influence him even more.
“Isa, it’s time,” one of the club staff entered the room where they were. Isa nodded and walked to where Axel was sitting.
“Hey, baby, you have to go now,” Isa crouched next to her son. His eyes were shining, and Isa was sure of how nervous he was. “You don’t have to go if you don’t want to,” Isa said understandingly. Axel made a face.
“I want to go, but do you think Pedri wants me there?” Axel asked insecurely. He always got like this after spending a few hours with his father, but Isa understood her son’s insecurities; after all, she had her own when it came to the player.
“Are you kidding? Pedri has been counting the days for this moment, buddy,” Fer said, crouching next to Isa in front of Axel. The youngest looked at him, still seeming uncertain.
“Isa, he has to go with the other kids,” the staff member repeated. Axel looked at Isa and then at Gavi.
“Gavi, will you go with me?” Axel asked shyly. Gavi approached and picked him up.
“Of course, buddy, if it makes you feel better,” Gavi said, hugging him. “Deep down, deep down, I know I’m your favorite,” Gavi teased. Axel raised his eyebrows, looking offended, which made Fernando laugh.
“You know you not,” Axel said, hitting Gavi’s shoulder. The two left the room talking about something.
“Let’s go to the stands,” Fer pulled Isabella outside, and the woman could feel her nervousness taking over. When she arrived, she saw her father already excited, singing songs of the crowd. Pedri’s parents greeted her with a warm hug.
“You’re freezing, dear,” Rosy, Pedri's mom said, holding Isa’s hand. “Oh, I understand, I always get like this when Pedri goes onto the field,” the woman hugged Isabella in a comforting way.
Isa still found it strange the relationship she was having with the player’s family. They were so welcoming since the game against PSG. They sent messages asking Axel if she was okay. They gathered at Isa’s father’s house just to chat, and they even took Axel for outings. Isa found it strange because she had never had that experience before. Her ex-mother-in-law made sure to criticize her all the time, especially the way she raised Axel. And with her current mother-in-law, everything was different, well, Isa didn’t know if she could call her that, since she and Pedri were not officially in a relationship. This left her even more confused.
“They’re coming in,” Rosy said excitedly, holding Isa’s hand. Isa’s father stood up as if a goal had been scored, holding Fer by the shoulders and shaking him excitedly. Isa laughed at the scene and turned her attention to the field. Pedri was the last to enter, and unlike the other players who were holding hands with their respective kids, Pedri was carrying Axel in his arms.
“He got shy,” Fer concluded. The pre-game processes were finished, and Isa saw when Pedri walked to the edge of the field and handed Axel to Gavi, who was waiting there.
“Aw, a good older son,” Fer said, turning with a mocking smile to Isabella, who rolled her eyes. “I’m going to get something for Axel to eat. Do you want anything, sis?” Isa frowned and just shook her head. Fer looked confused at her and then left.
After a few minutes, Gavi arrived with Axel, who was talking again. His cheeks were flushed, and his eyes were sparkling with excitement.
“Mom, did you see me out there?” he asked excitedly while jumping into his mother’s lap. “It was so cool.”
“You did very well, Axel,” Rosy said, kissing the boy’s hand. “Did you like it?”
“Yeeeees, it was cool to see everyone from the field,” he said excitedly.
“Soon it will be you entering the field with a child,” Pedri’s father said, picking Axel up from Isa’s lap and starting a conversation with the little boy.
“You’re acting strange,” Gavi said beside her, watching her. Isabella looked at him stunned.
“You freeze every time Pedri’s family shows affection for Axel,” Gavi concluded. Isa was sometimes surprised by how observant Gavi was and how well he read her.
“Don’t you find it strange? They hardly know him and treat him like this...” Isa said quietly, hoping the noise of the stadium was enough for the player’s family not to hear her.
“Wow, I know Axel’s father’s family was horrible to you, but to the point of you finding it strange for your son to be well treated?” Gavi asked curiously.
“You have no idea,” Isa muttered, watching Axel get excited with Fer approaching with a bag of popcorn.
“Well, you’re Pedri’s girlfriend now, so it’s natural for them to treat you well,” Gavi concluded.
“I’m not Pedri’s girlfriend,” Isa said in a louder tone, attracting Fer’s attention, who looked confused at her again but soon returned his attention to Axel, who was telling him something.
“What are you talking about?” Gavi asked confused. “Fernando would have already said on Instagram that you weren’t if you weren’t,” he said humorously, making Isa laugh. “And I don’t think his family would interact so much with you and Axel if you weren’t. Believe me, he tells everything to his parents and takes their opinion very seriously.”
“I know, but we haven’t talked about it...” Isa said, watching Pedri run across the field.
“Oh my God, my brother is so dumb,” Fer said, turning again to face Isa. Axel looked at Fernando with a frown.
“Don’t talk about Pedri like that, Fer” Axel reprimanded him, and Fer was shocked.
“You two are very united, I’m at a disadvantage here. How am I going to speak ill of him now?” Fer asked indignantly. “I brought you popcorn, you have to let me talk bad about him a little.”
“Stop tormenting the boy,” Pedri’s father picked Axel up from his son’s lap. Fer looked offended, making Isa laugh.
Barcelona won the match. For the first time, the team seemed to have found a rhythm, and that was reassuring. Isa was in her car in the stadium’s parking lot. There were only a few minutes left until the match ended. Axel was sleeping peacefully in the back seat and would probably wake up only the next day. Early in the second half, he started complaining about a headache. Isa concluded that it was the adrenaline of entering the field finally passing and giving way to exhaustion, which Isa also shared. The woman had advanced all her work so she could have a day off and accompany Axel’s special day. And also, her mind couldn’t stop thinking about her relationship with Pedri. Since the game against PSG, Pedri’s presence had become constant, but at no time did they talk about what their relationship status was. Isa was looking at social media; she and Axel were already on the player’s fan pages, which also speculated about the nature of their relationship. Isa put her phone back in her pocket and leaned her head on the seat, closing her eyes. After a few minutes, the sound of someone knocking on the window woke her up, and she looked outside, seeing the player smiling at her. She unlocked the car, expecting him to get into the passenger seat, but instead, he opened the driver’s door.
“I’ll drive,” he said firmly. Isa didn’t argue, just jumped into the passenger seat. Pedri got in, looked at Axel in the back seat, and then at Isa. He leaned in to buckle the seatbelt for her, and she looked at him curiously. Isa wanted to ask him, but she was too shy to do so, and she was also a little dazed; Isa loved seeing Pedri play, but she also loved how he looked after a match, his messy hair, the confident look, the flushed cheeks. Pedri narrowed his eyes at her, a smile at the corners of his lips.
“What?” he asked, but Isabella just shook her head, forcing herself to return to reality. “What were you thinking about?” Isa felt her cheeks warm.
“Nothing... ” she shrugged
Pedri smiled and leaned in to kiss her, and then he drove out of the stadium toward her apartment.
Pedri could see that something was bothering her. The entire silent drive to the apartment showed that. His brother and Gavi calling him dumb and stupid were also hints. Pedri was sitting in Isa’s apartment living room while she put Axel to bed. It didn’t take long for her to return, and she stopped when she saw him sitting on the couch.
“You’re still here?” Isa asked cautiously, and Pedri found the woman’s cold reaction strange. He raised an eyebrow at her.
“What’s wrong, Isabella?” Pedri asked, watching the woman open her mouth several times to say something, but nothing came out. She seemed frustrated.
“Nothing,” she huffed and walked to the kitchen. Pedri followed her, stopping behind her with his arms on either side of her body, so she ended up trapped between the sink and him. Pedri could spend days looking at her, and he would never get tired. He was obsessed with her; it was all about her, the perfectly sculpted face, the sweet and welcoming smile, the way she raised Axel. The big brown eyes were looking at a point behind Pedri, and now he was sure that something was wrong because normally, when they were this close, her eyes were on his face, mapping it.
“Isabella...” Pedri held her face, forcing her to look at him. “What happened?”
“What are we?” Pedri was confused for a moment, thinking he had already been clear about his feelings for her.
“Is that why you’re in a bad mood?” Pedri asked humorously. Isa rolled her eyes, pushing him away and going to sit on the couch. Pedri followed her, still laughing at her mood. Pedri always enjoyed it when Isa showed her feelings. “I thought it was clear what we had,” Pedri sat next to her, who continued to ignore him. This time, it was Pedri who rolled his eyes. He moved a little closer and extended his hand to her face, pulling her so she would look at him. Isa’s big eyes were shining, and only now did he realize how serious she was.
“You’re married, Isabella,” Pedro said humorously, and Isa opened her mouth, surprised by his words. Pedri let out a little laugh. “We’re together, but to make things official, I don’t want that point between us.”
“Well, that never stopped you before,” this time it was Isa who said mockingly and humorously, and Pedri rolled his eyes, offended, moving away from her. Isa let out a giggle and sat on the player’s lap, holding his face and leaving kisses all over his face.
“I thought you were too smart for this,” Pedri said, holding Isa’s waist, who looked at him, not understanding. “Another thing you told me when we met at the nightclub,” Pedri kissed her neck. “That you were too smart to fall for my flirting.” Isa laughed, and Pedri felt his heart skip a beat; he loved her laugh, and he made wishes in his head so he could hear that laugh for many, many years.
******************************************
Three months later
"Pedriiii," Axel came running down the hallway looking for the player, holding his tiny soccer cleats in his hands. "Can you help me put them on?" Pedri laughed at the boy's eagerness. Today was a big day; Axel was going to play his first soccer game with his football class. At his age, everything was playful and introductory, without the pressure of professionalism, but still, it was an experience Axel was very excited and focused on. Pedri always talked to and supported the boy, encouraging him to enjoy the moment and not take it too seriously. Of course, at the end of the day, all the talk went out the window when Gavi showed up saying, "They are all our enemies; we can’t feel sorry for anyone."
"Axel, baby. Your father won’t be able to attend the game; he wasn’t given time off from work, but he wished you good luck." Isa appeared in the room. Pedri felt a strange sensation at the mention of the man and repressed the urge to roll his eyes at the excuse. It was his son’s first game, and he couldn’t make an effort. Axel shrugged at the information, not seeming affected, and Pedri mentally thanked, as he would hate anyone who spoiled Axel’s joy that day. "Go get your bag from your room, or we’ll be late." Axel ran to his room, and Isa took the opportunity to approach Pedri, hugging him. Pedri inhaled the woman’s perfume; he loved the intoxicating feeling it caused in his senses.
“Thank you,” she whispered in the player’s ear, causing a shiver. Axel returned to the room, running to Pedri's lap, making Isa roll her eyes at the boy’s preference.
“Pedri, don’t forget to control pop's so the coach doesn’t kick him out again.” Isa stopped in her tracks, staring at the two with wide eyes. Pedri felt his body go cold and looked at Axel, who seemed to realize what he had just said.
“What?” she asked, shocked by the information.
“He’s joking, love.” Isa looked suspicious while Axel hid his face in the player’s neck with small giggles.
Pedri had left Axel in the locker room with the other children. His appearance caused a bit of a stir among them, almost getting him kicked out by the coach too, but he managed to calm them down with the promise that he would take photos with all of them after the match. This resulted in Axel having a huge pout on his face while ignoring Pedri’s goodbye... the jealousy... like mother, like son.
Pedri headed to the stands where his family was. His mother was chatting animatedly with Isa’s stepmother, while his father was next to Isa’s father, who seemed to be too calm to what he usually was. When he noticed the player approaching, they exchanged a look of recognition.
“I thought we had a secret, my dear.” Pedri let out a little laugh while greeting his father-in-law.
“Complain to your grandson.” Pedri shrugged.
“She grounded me, but she’s there with the one responsible for the mess.” Isa’s father said, nodding towards where his daughter was. Pedri looked towards the edge of the field, where Isa was talking with Fer and Gavi, the latter hugging the woman who was laughing at something Pedri’s brother was saying.
“Don't worry, I'll make her see who he truly is,” Pedri said, laughing.
“Pedri, leave him alone, poor thing.” Pedri’s mother said.
“Poor thing because you don’t know the thing.” Pedri headed towards the three, and as soon as Isa noticed him approaching, she gave Pedri a cynical look.
“You have your child; I have mine.” She said, referring to Gavi, who gave a smug laugh.
“Now I know where Axel gets his jealous side from,” Pedri said humorously.
“Oh brother, you’re not far behind. You almost had a meltdown at that event because Bellingham greeted Isa and played with Axel.” Fer said, laughing at his brother, who scowled. Gavi burst into laughter, remembering the scene. Pedri looked at him and, seeing that he was about to say something more, so he intervened.
“You keep quiet, Gavira, or I'll tell her your secret...” Isa stopped hugging Gavi and looked at him attentively.
“You’re the only one who believes in his saintly face, Isa,” Fer said beside him, and soon he and Gavi started teasing each other. Isabella laughed at the scene and went to Pedri’s side, hugging him. The two shared a silent exchange of affection until Axel’s game began, and Isa started showing her motherly side. Ironically, Pedri had to hold her when she almost fought with a mother from the opposing team who's child had knocked Axel down rather harshly, which, of course, provided excellent ammunition for Isa’s father to tease his daughter.
*****************************************
Six months later
"Are you sure about this?" Isa asked for the thousandth time that day, making Pedri roll his eyes.
"Jesus... baby. Have you always been this anxious?" Pedri looked at the woman who was leaning against the door frame, staring at the large room, the room of the house that would be theirs. Ever since he had suggested they move in together, Isa had been showing signs of insecurity. Pedri walked over to her, holding her by the waist and pulling her into the house. Isa looked at him coyly. "There is nothing I want more than this, Isa. A house with you and Axel." Isa smiled at him, and God, how Pedri loved the woman's smile and the way her eyes sparkled for him.
"Pedriiii," Axel ran into the house.
"See, Axel. I told you they would be stalling while we do the heavy work," Fer said, dropping a box in the middle of the room.
"That's the first box you've picked up," Pedri said, looking at his brother while picking Axel up in his arms.
"Can we swim?" Axel asked excitedly. Ever since they had visited the house for the first time, the little boy had been excited about the pool in the backyard.
"Later, when everyone is here," Pedri replied. Axel nodded in understanding and got down from the player's arms, going to sit next to Fer on the couch.
Pedri saw Isa go upstairs and decided to follow her. In the past few days, the woman had been a bundle of nerves and anxiety, and he, more than anyone, understood all her fears, honestly, the idea that she might change her mind disturbed him to his core. He found her standing at the door of Axel's room. Pedri approached her, hugging her from behind. He kissed the back of her neck, making her giggle as she turned to face him.
"Are you sure about this?" she asked once more. "I'm a mother, and we have an age difference. I don't want you to take on such a big responsibility unless you're sure."
"You know we only have a four-year and a few months' difference, right?" Pedri said with humor. "And I am sure. I've been sure since the first time I saw you." Isa frowned.
"At the nightclub?" she asked, confused, and Pedri laughed, kissing her face.
"Yes, at the nightclub..." Isabella looked at him skeptically. "I am sure about this, baby. I've always been sure I wanted this, given the upbringing and family I had. But it was something distant until I met you and Axel. The moment you two came into my life, I knew I didn't want it with anyone else but you two." Pedri kissed Isa's forehead and wiped away the tears that streamed down her face. She kissed him so intensely that Pedri was sure he fell in love with her all over again.
********************************************
One Year Later
Isa could feel her heart in her throat, she could feel how fast it was beating, her hands were shaking uncontrollably, and tears were streaming down her face. Barcelona had won the Champions League, in an El Clásico, with an incredible comeback, and with the essential participation of Gavi and Pedri. The latter played an extraordinary game, the quality of his passes, his assists, and his leadership on the field. Isa felt her chest tighten with pride, or maybe she was having a heart attack. After all, no one expected or imagined that Barcelona would have such strength this season. As soon as the referee blew the final whistle, the stadium roared with a roar, a roar that had been stuck in their throats for years. An official came to the box to call the players' families to enter the field. Axel was ecstatic, his face red and swollen from crying. Isa wasn't sure if he understood the enormity of everything that was happening or if he was just carried away by his grandfather's emotions and Pedri's family. The player's mother was trembling so much, with a proud look on her face, and in the last minutes of extra time, the elderly woman had squeezed Isa's hand so tightly that it left marks. Pedri's father had picked Axel up, explaining that this way he wouldn't feel unwell. The player's brother had knelt to cry, and Isa hugged him, his tears soaking the woman's shirt. She admired the relationship they had so much. Even Isa's father had cried, and the man was usually tough, but he had cried, and Isa couldn't take him seriously because he was wearing a shirt he had received from Pedri's fans, a shirt with a picture of Gavi and Axel with the words "proud grandfather," and of course, the number 8 on the back, which he wore proudly.
"Pedriiii" Axel jumped down from Pedri's father's arms and ran across the field towards the player, who knelt to pick up the little boy. Isa felt her eyes welling up with tears again, and she tried to control herself for the photos. Isa stood back, wanting to let the boy's parents enjoy the moment. After all, they had worked so hard to get to that day.
"Isaaa," Gavi approached, hugging her.
"Gavira, congratulations, you deserve it so much. I'm so happy, I feel like a proud mother," Isa hugged him tightly. Isa looked behind the boy, and as if reading her mind, Gavi hurried to speak.
"She went to calm the things first" Gavi rolled his eyes, making Isa laugh.
Before they could continue the conversation, Isa's father approached, pulling Gavi towards him. The man gave Gavi a tight hug and gave him a speech about how proud he was of the boy. Gavi was almost crying, and the two were in an honest conversation, Isa could only think about how she had lost her father and son to Barcelona players.
"Hi, Ms. Gonzalez. You look beautiful" Ferran approached, greeting her with a hug.
"Thank you, Ferran, you too. Congratulations, you were amazing."
"Thank you, Isa. It's beautiful to see a father and his favorite kid," the player joked, looking at Gavi and Isa's father.
"Can you believe that?" Isa said indignantly. "He doesn't even hide that he has a favorite." Ferran laughed.
"Look at the size of your darling's pout. If there weren't cameras all around, he would have thrown me away by now," Ferran joked, pointing to Pedri on the other side of the field, who was looking their way but quickly looked away when he realized they were watching him. "Wow, I just had a major déjà vu," Ferran said, and Isa looked confused. "From when he saw you for the first time," he concluded.
"At the club?" Isa asked curiously, and Ferran chuckled.
"That wasn't the first time Pedri saw you." Isa looked at Pedri and then back at Ferran, who laughed at her reaction. "We were in the media room recording for the club, you walked in, and he was mesmerized. You didn't even notice him, but the boy was taken," Isa's mouth dropped open in shock.
"My God, I thought he saw me at the club."
"No, that was his stalker phase. He overheard you talking with the social media girls about going to that club and forced us to go with him," Ferran said, laughing. "He risked his 'I'd rather stay home, I don't like parties' reputation for you." Isa laughed out loud at the newly acquired information and looked at her boyfriend, who was frowning.
"Let me go over there or he'll get rid of you..." Isa said, laughing and hugging Ferran goodbye.
Isa walked slowly towards her boyfriend, who was watching his brother run after Axel, but his face was serious. He saw Isa approaching but paid no attention. She rolled her eyes and put her arms around the player's waist, who didn't reciprocate the gesture.
"Congratulations, mi amor," Isa said, leaning in to kiss the player, but he turned his face. "PEDRI," she said indignantly and pinched his arm, making him laugh and finally look at her and wrap his arms around her. Isa observed the player's face and never got tired of doing so. She loved looking at every little detail of his face.
"I can only accept sharing your attention with Gavi, and just because you and your father force me," he said, looking into Isa's eyes. The sparkle in them made the butterflies in her stomach take flight. "You congratulated them first," he said, feeling hurt.
"Love, it was your parents' moment," Isa explained, holding Pedri's face. "I am so proud, you were incredible throughout the championship, but today you were a level above everyone," Isa said proudly and saw Pedri's cheeks, already flushed from the game, turn even rosier, and his eyes filled with tears. He lowered his head, resting on her shoulder, the intimacy of the embrace putting them in their world as if it were just the two of them, nothing else around. But they were soon brought back to reality when they heard Fer shouting.
"Axel, no, your mother is going to kill me." Isa turned so quickly to see what her son was doing, and when she saw, she felt like strangling her boyfriend's brother. Axel was holding a bottle of champagne, shaking it, and trying to open it.
"My God..." Pedri muttered behind her amused by the scene, laughing at his brother running after the boy to try to get the bottle. Before Isa could go after the boy, Pedri pulled her back to him. "Let it be... Fer is watching, I want you here with me," Pedri said in her ear.
"Gross, what you two want to do can't be done here on the field, for God's sake," Gavi suddenly appeared next to them, startling them. Gavi laughed and tried to pull Isa into a hug, but Pedri prevented him.
"What's with you all competing for my girlfriend's attention?" Pedri said indignantly.
"It's not my fault she prefers me," Gavi winked at Isa, "and besides, sons have priority," Gavi teased, and Pedri rolled his eyes.
"Your brother is trying to get drunk, so why don't you go bother him before my brother has a heart attack from stress," Pedri pointed to Fer, who was still chasing Axel, who was laughing as he ran away.
"My God, I leave you for a minute..." Gavi said, moving away and running after Axel.
It was past three in the morning, the music was already playing at a lower volume, and there were remnants of burst balloons around the yard. Isa’s father had prepared a party for when the team returned to Barcelona after the final, as he was certain that victory and the title would come. And since it was more intimate than a nightclub, most of the players, staff, and families had attended; it had been completely lively, yet cozy. Several players had gotten drunk, even the club president had enjoyed everything, all of them forgetting that they would walk through the city the next morning to celebrate with the fans. At least their hungover faces would make for great photos and memes on social media. Isa had just finished helping her step mother put her father to bed; the man had finally rested. He was so proud that he even made a big speech about how proud he was of his kids Pedri, and Gavi, which drew a lot of laughter from those present.
Isa thought about tidying up a bit to have less mess the next day but quickly gave up as she was too tired, so she headed to the yard in search of her son. Axel had also enjoyed the celebration, and Isa was impressed by how his energy never seemed to run out. The woman’s eyes scanned the yard, and her heart skipped a beat when she saw Pedri sitting on the outdoor sofa, with Axel sleeping in his lap. He was accompanied by a few teammates in a quieter conversation. Pedri was visibly tired but held Axel with great care. Isa would never get tired of the bond between them and would be eternally grateful to Pedri for the affection he had for her son. Isa approached slowly, and as soon as Pedri noticed her, he gave a very genuine smile.
"Let's take Axel to bed," Isa said, and Pedri simply nodded. They said goodbye to the group; those who were there were regulars and knew how to manage themselves.
"He needs a bath," Pedri commented as he followed Isa to the bedroom.
"If we wake him up for that, we won’t sleep anymore," Isa said, laughing, and Pedri concluded that it wouldn’t be a good idea. He placed Axel in bed, left a kiss on the boy's forehead, and left the room. Isa repeated the gesture, and just as she was about to leave, Axel’s sleepy little voice called her back.
"Mommy, I’m so happy..." he mumbled.
"I know, baby, I am too," Isa said, running her hand through his hair.
"I’m so happy that Pedri is ours..." Isa laughed at the comment but felt her heartbreak, and remembered the conversation she had with her father when she felt insecure about her relationship with Pedri, right after Henry’s family threatened to take Axel’s custody if she didn’t return to her marriage with Henry, as he was Axel’s father and should be present in the child's life. Those were turbulent and sad weeks, and Isa almost fell into emotional manipulation, but her father always told her that she had to think about her happiness because it would consequently bring Axel’s happiness since he felt what she did, and he would only be happy if she was. And true, genuine happiness only existed when they were with Pedri.
"Yes, me too," Isa admitted and waited for a response from Axel, but there was none; he had fallen back asleep. Isa closed the door and headed to her and the player's room. The room was dark, but the bathroom light was on. Isa took off her clothes and went to the bathroom, finding Pedri in the bathtub. He smiled at her as she settled into the small space with him. It didn’t take long for him to slide into her, and they celebrated the title in another way that night.
**********************************************
Three Years Later
Isa had many insecurities about having a relationship with Pedri; she had never thought about the consequences or what it might bring to her life. She would have to deal with gratuitous hatred, malicious comments about the age difference, and unfounded rumors. But with Pedri, it was possible to forget these details that could influence her life. It had been this way since the first time she was with him, the first time she saw him at the nightclub. When she saw him, she knew who he was, knew she would be working with him, and that she should not have any relationship with him, but he was extremely inviting, and Isa felt attracted to him from then on. And as she saw how he treated Axel, he increasingly found a place in her heart. Axel was her life, and seeing Pedri’s concern and care for the boy filled her heart. Isa never imposed anything on the player; she always treated their relationship as a friendship from the start.
Isa entered the living room, and Pedri was sitting on the couch with one arm resting behind his head while the other was using his phone. Axel was lying a few meters away from him, sleeping. The two were inseparable, and this filled Isa’s heart.
"Pedriiii," Isa said softly so as not to wake her son. Pedri looked at her, a smile on his lips. He put his phone down on the couch and stretched his arms out to his woman. Isa smiled widely at the player, approaching with animated hops, and then sat on his lap, nestling her face into the crook of his neck. Pedri held her in a tight hug.
"I missed you," he mumbled. Isa pulled back to look at him and left a kiss on his lips, feeling the butterflies in her stomach take flight. Pedri held her face, kissing her forehead and hugging her once more.
"Our boy scored two goals today. He did my celebration for one of them, and for the other, he pointed to your dad, Gavi, and Fer; they almost cried," Pedri said with humor, looking at the little boy. Isa smiled, looking at her son. "Then he spent hours on a video call with my parents, telling them about the game, and when I sent them the video of his celebrations, they almost cried too." Isa pouted as she watched the photos and videos Pedri had taken, since her flight was delayed and she couldn’t see Axel’s game.
"And then he demanded that my mom come here to make his favorite food in celebration, so, well, they’re coming tomorrow." Isa smiled; Axel had his grandparents wrapped around his finger, and Isa felt her heart burst with how much he was loved by Pedri’s parents and brother. There were no fears, no tears—well, except when they had to go back home.
"Today some little girls were cheering for him..." Pedri said hesitantly. Isa looked at him quickly. "Then Fer asked, ‘Hey Axel, which one of these is your girlfriend?’ He got so red," Pedri said, laughing.
"Gavi joined in on the fun, and for the first time, I saw a fan—or rather, a Barcelona fan—give him a deadly look, and Gavi was so scared. I think he never expected to be disliked by a fan. Fer and your dad laughed so much at him, but your dad was ready to fight the little girl to defend his oldest grandson." Isa laughed heartily.
"I can’t leave you guys alone; you attract too much attention," Isa said jealously. She still wasn’t at peace with the attention Axel was getting and would receive. "And when Gavi is with you...I see the comments, your fans go crazy."
"Don’t worry, love. Me, and your two sons, are all yours." Isa grew serious, grateful for the turn the conversation had taken. "Well, Gavi more or less..." Isa rolled her eyes.
"Well, hopefully now at least a little girl will come to keep me company. It won’t even things out, but it’s a start." Pedri laughed and kissed Isa’s forehead, not seeming to catch on to what she had said. Isa remained silent, and so did Pedri, the room filled only with Axel’s sleepy breathing. Pedri pulled back, his eyes wide, finally realizing what she had said.
"Love...are you serious?" he said, emotional. Isa smiled widely at her husband.
"Congratulations, Daddy!" she whispered in Pedri’s ear. The player hugged her so tightly that Isa could feel her shirt getting wet from his tears.
"Thank you, thank you for giving them to me," Pedri said emotionally.
"Thank you, for choosing us, for embracing Axel and being the best dad in the world." Pedri sniffled, hugging her again. "Can you believe we’ll have another little voice calling ‘Pedriiii’ everywhere?" Pedri laughed, wiping his face.
"I’ll need to stock up on more M&Ms," Pedri joked, and Isa made a face.
"Love, can I tell you a secret? But you have to pretend you don’t know," Isa said seriously. Pedri looked at her, confused.
"Axel hates them," Isa said with humor.
"What?" Pedri asked, confused.
"M&Ms."
"What????" Pedri shouted, and Isa quickly covered the player’s mouth.
"Yes!!!" Isa said, laughing at his reaction.
"Isabella Gonzalez, impossible. He was so passionate about them." Pedri was too perplexed by such information.
"Because you liked them!!! And he mistook them for Skittles when he took them from my bag, and since he took them secretly, he couldn’t admit it...I think giving them to you was his way of getting rid of the evidence, but you ruined everything when you started giving them back to him." Pedri’s eyes widened, and Isa couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction.
"Wow, you mean our whole relationship might not exist if Axel had picked the right candy?" Pedri squinted, and Isa shrugged. "Nah, this would have happened anyway," Pedri concluded, pointing to the two of them, and Isa smiled at his admission. "Either way, your son is a great actor," Pedri said, laughing. Isa looked at him, offended.
"Oh, now he’s my son? When you want to impress your female audience, it’s my son here, my kid there," Isa rolled her eyes, making Pedri laugh.
"Baby, you’re the one who’s most impressed when I say those things," Pedri teased, and Isa smiled, embarrassed.
"I can’t believe he kept that secret for three years..." Pedri said, amused but finding the newly received information hilarious. Axel was something. Pedri looked at the boy sleeping peacefully on the couch and placed one of his hands on Isa’s belly, feeling extremely grateful for everything he had gained.
**********************************************
N/A: CRYING, SOBBING AND THROWING UP.
"I want to thank everyone who followed this story, all the likes, comments, and support made my days much better. I bid farewell to this story, but not definitively, because when Pedriiii and Isa speak in my head, I promise to bring it to you. My Gavi's girls, I promise I haven't forgotten about you, and there's a hint about his story in this chapter. My delusional mind took over in this chapter, and it firmly believes that next year the Champions League is ours. lol Visca El Barça!"

Tags: love confession, unrequited love, bucktommy break up, angst, ambiguous/open ending, Eddie Diaz being mean to himself
-
The person knocking is exactly who Buck had hoped it wouldn’t be. Eddie has his determined face on when Buck opens the door, so this is exactly what he’d been hoping to avoid. Well… It’d been nice while it lasted.
Except, it hadn’t actually been nice. Buck has been acting weird for the last two weeks, despite his best efforts, and Eddie’s obviously noticed.
“What’s going on, Buck?” Eddie asks without so much as a hello, as Buck steps aside to let him in. He looks as tired and worn down as he always does these days. Since Chris left.
“Funny, I was about to ask you that, since you’re the one that showed up my door unexpectedly,” Buck answers, like maybe he can still play this whole thing off. It earns him one of Eddie’s champion side-eyes.
“You’ve been acting weird for the last two weeks and trying to hide it. You think I haven’t noticed?”
“Have I?” He heads to the fridge. It’s partly out of habit, but mostly out of an excuse to put some distance between him and Eddie — who shakes his head no when Buck asks via body language, if he wants a beer.
Buck doesn’t want one either, so he shuts the fridge, empty handed, and retreats further behind the safety of the kitchen island. He tucks himself into the corner and leans against the cabinets next to the sink.
“You know you have. I know you have. The rest of the team knows you have,” Eddie says stepping closer, but staying on his side of the room. “And I’ve been waiting for you to come to me with whatever it is, but you haven’t. I thought you knew that you can tell me anything. Do you not— Do you not trust me? Did I do something to—“
“I’m in love with you,” Buck shoves out because he can’t live with Eddie worrying that Buck could somehow ever not trust him.
“— piss you off or make you think that… What?” Eddie freezes. Stares at him with complete and total shock on his beautiful face.
This is exactly what Buck was afraid of, but… the band-aid’s off, now. In a way it’s a relief.
“I’m in love with you. That’s why I’ve been acting like a freak. I know you don’t feel the same way, so I was hoping I could just keep it to myself but I…”
“You suck at keeping things from me,” he finishes, breaking eye contact and looking down at the island where he carefully spreads his hands across the laminate surface, like he needs something to hold him up.
“I suck at keeping things from you.”
Eddie doesn’t move. Stays totally still. Buck can practically see the gears turning in his head as he absorbs Buck’s confession. “This doesn’t change anything between us okay?” he says, still staring at the countertop. But then he looks up. Looks Buck square in the eye. “I love you. Not— Not the way you love me. But, I love you.”
It’s so so close to what he’d told Buck several months ago, when Buck came out to him. It had made him feel better then.
It doesn’t now.
“I know you do, Eddie,” and they can both hear how heartbroken and resigned he sounds. He already knew all this. So why does it hurt so much to hear it?
The silence of the moment draws out uncomfortably between them.
Then something clearly occurs to Eddie. “Tell me this isn’t why you broke up with Tommy.”
And well… Buck can’t tell him that, so he doesn’t say anything. Instead he looks down at the floor in front of his feet. There’s a dark purple spot of dried smoothie splatter on of the tiles.
“Buck! Really?!”
“What do you expect me to say, Eddie?” he asks with enough exasperation to finally look at him again. “It’s not like once I realized how I feel about you, we could just keep on dating. That wouldn’t have been fair to him!”
“Except that Tommy’s—“ Eddie slams his mouth shut and drags his hands down his face.
“Tommy’s what?”
“Nothing,” Eddie says, hands falling limp at his side. “Forget it.”
Buck steps out from around the island but keeps a few stools between them. “No, Eddie. Tommy’s what?”
“Tommy’s actually a good guy!” Eddie barks out before looking immediately shocked he said it at all.
“Tommy’s a great guy.” And at first, Buck doesn’t understand what that has to do with anything. Then he realizes what Eddie actually meant. “But Eddie… So are you.”
“Track record says you’re wrong.”
“What track record?”
“My track record! Shannon. My team in the army. Ana. Marisol. Kim. My kid who is currently 700 miles away because he can’t even look at me. My— my whole life, Buck! All I do is let people down.”
“Eddie, is that what you think of yourself?”
“Pretty hard to think anything else, at this point,” he says before leaning back against the counter and crossing his arms protectively.
And now Buck’s heart is breaking for an entirely different reason. “Eddie…” He’d get closer, try to offer some sort of physical comfort, but Eddie turns his head away, looks toward the door like he’s about to bolt. So, Buck stays where he is.
“Eddie, you’re my favorite person.”
“Well, I shouldn’t be.”
“You don’t get to decide that. You don’t get to decide how I feel about you. And to be honest, I don’t know how I could ever feel any other way about you. Not when you’re brave and kind and compassionate and caring and thoughtful. And you’re a really great dad.” Eddie gives the barest shake of his head at that. “You are. I know you don’t feel like it right now, but you are. You are, Eddie. And you’re a really good friend, too. And you have never let me down.”
Eddie scoffs and wipes away a tear that was about to fall. “Just a matter of time, Buck.”

They’re Coming, Part 1
Rick
Rick, wake up.
They’re coming.
Still asleep, Rick swung out of bed, grabbed his python, and pointed it into the darkness.
Michonne was in the doorway. She smiled sweetly, told him to get dressed, and rubbed her extended belly.
She was already fully dressed. Michonne was carrying a small bag, and her katana was dangling from her shoulder as it no longer fit around her.
Rick had been on high alert for the past three nights. However, last night, he cuddled up extra close to Michonne and stuck his nose in her locks, breathing in the smell of exotic oils. It was narcotic, and he drifted off into a deep sleep.
He had stood up too fast, was dizzy, and had to sit down. It all changes from here, he thought. We are going from a family of four to a family of six.
Rick tried to hide his apprehension. His track record with pregnancies wasn’t too great. He remembered being so overwhelmed with Carl that he didn’t remember anything; the baby was suddenly there. Whenever he sees a flash of Lori in Judith, he tries to erase the memory of her birth.
Michonne also wore a brave face; her track record wasn’t much better. Losing Andre broke her. Her pregnancy with RJ broke her even more, but in a different way. She had desperately longed for Rick to be in their lives and also she had to destroy children when she was seven months pregnant. It was such a joyless pregnancy, she just wanted it over with.
RJ came out looking just like Rick, making her happy and sad. Michonne knew deep down that if Judith and RJ had not been there, she would have succumbed to despair like Sasha and given up on trying to stay alive and any hope of peace and happiness.
Inhaling deeply, Rick stood up and bumped into the dresser. Michonne shushed him.
The kids are still asleep. I will go get Morgan to keep an eye on them, while we are away.
Michonne tiptoed out of the bedroom. Rick quickly got dressed and wondered how it was possible to be so terrified and elated simultaneously. “I couldn’t save Lori”. “This is different,” he told himself.
Before going downstairs, he peeked into Judith’s room. She was just a toddler when he left; now she is practically grown. Looking at her bedside table stacked with books, he laughed to himself, she is a voracious reader, just like her Mama.
Then Rick went into RJ’s room and just stood over his bed. “Michonne was right. He is so much like me.” he thought. A child of few words, but he makes his needs and wants known. Rick understood in the first days after his return that he had to accept RJ being the “Man of the House”. He had to be conscious not to usurp RJ’s “position” but to carefully share it with him. As far as RJ was concerned, this was “his house” and “his women”. He felt extremely protective of Michonne and Judith even though he was “the baby”.
Rick met Michonne at the bottom of the stairs and took the bag from her.
You okay?
Yeah
You okay?
Yeah
Morgan appeared from the downstairs bedroom. He was smiling not saying much, but his eyes were glistening.
Can’t wait to meet them, good luck.
Oh, I made some pancake batter for you and the kids , it’s in the refrigerator.
I was thinking of just chucking a few protein bars at them. Morgan quipped.
Rick and Michonne smiled and opened the door. Hand in hand, they walked into the early morning air. The Commonwealth had a fully staffed clinic, and they were following Michonne’s pregnancy.
The first and last time an on-call doctor said Michonne was a “geriatric mother”, she instinctively grabbed for her Katana as though she had been blindsided by a Walker.
Later on, Michonne brought Rick in for the scan.
“TWO!”
Rick had a hard time standing up. He mumbled something about the winter being unusually cold and it was difficult to keep his knees from buckling.
“TWO!”
As they were checking into the clinic, he had to wait for Michonne to be examined. Sitting in the waiting room, Rick thought. “I’m going to miss her belly”.
She’d rub this concoction of oils and cream all over her belly every night. At some point, she would complain that she was tired and couldn’t reach all the parts and would let Rick finish greasing her up.
Mr. Grimes, Mr. Rick Grimes
Yeah, that’s me
Your wife is ready.

Overtime Smiles (Nanami Kento x Gn Reader)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Heyy ♡ ︎ It took me a little while to get back to posting again because of life but I should be posting more soon. I know you wanted NSFW girlie so I've tried and this is the best I could do. I hope you enjoy❦︎
Summary: After waking up in Nanami's bed from a night of drinking, you plan on avoiding him until you find out you have an appointment with your dentist.. Who happens to be Nanami.

I’d been studying his sleeping face for about an hour. More and more sunlight was creeping through the window and my opportunity to make a clean escape was getting smaller and smaller. Fuck, why did I drink so much? Clubbing with Gojo never ends well, why did I think this time would be any different? And out of all people to hook up with, it was fucking Nanami Kento. An old highschool acquaintance that in recent years had become a shoulder for me to cry on, someone I hung out with nearly daily.
From the corner of my eye I spot the hoodie I left here a few days ago. Damn, I either take it now, or leave it forever, cus there's no way I'm gonna be able to double back for that. Not when Kento wakes up and finds me gone. Fuck. Would he even remember last night? Again, how the fuck did last night even happen.
...Fuckkkkkk I really liked that hoodie…
He groaned as he adjusted his sleeping position, oblivious to the dilemma I was facing. Son of a bitch, what do you do when the friend you usually call to get you out of shit is the reason you're in deep shit to begin with?
I’d been in his room so many times before, I've been in this bed countless times, I knew what made the bed springs squeal and what kept them quiet.
I slowly remove the blanket and awkwardly shuffle to the edge of the bed, which still creaked despite my most careful efforts. No sound from the slumbering hunk 3 feet away, so I figured I was probably safe.
I spotted my clothes thrown about near the door of the room, escaping so tantalisingly away, but I had to overcome the hardest part of this whole situation. Getting off the actual bed without the goddamn mattress announcing it to the whole apartment.
I grip the edges of the mattress.
I breathe in..
I tense my body as I press my feet to the floor.
And breathe out..
Despite my best efforts, I only managed to avoid the worst of it, the springs still wailed as I stood and I cursed Kento’s sleeping face for not getting memory foam like I suggested months ago.
But his expression didn’t change. He laid there asleep and without any concern. What day was it, again? Did he have work or something? Maybe I should wake him up.
No, focus, if luck is on my side he won't remember anything and I can worry myself with all that as soon as I get the hell out of here.
I tiptoed around his room, scooping what I could of last night’s outfit off the cold floor. I also find my phone with a now cracked screen, fortunately still charged and notifications cluttering the display. Worried texts and clustered missed calls from Gojo, while Shoko had only sent a few messages and called once. I’ll take care of that when I get at least halfway decent.
Shimmying out of the bedroom is an exercise in patience and caution, after which I nearly close the door behind me, leaving a small crack to stop the door from totally closing shut and making any more noise.
I made a mental note to Shoko for suggesting I wear flats instead of heels yesterday. Who knows what I’d do with myself if I had to walk with heels on Kento’s hard tile floor.
I got dressed and felt my heart jump into my throat when I closed the main door of the house too roughly behind me. Fuck it It’s far enough away from his room, I doubt he’d hear it.
Was this elevator always so cold? Ugh.
Ring ring…
Ring ring… You snow dusted ass, pick up I know you've got nothing else going on
Ring ri- “Hellooo~?” “How does it feel letting the phone ring so you feel a little less sad?”
I hear the choked chortle before he can mute himself, “You whore, you can’t talk to me like that! I’m not the one that disappeared from the club last night.”
I scoff and laugh a little before letting out a huge sigh, “Asshole, I’m not surprised you lost track of me, but where was Shokooo.. She usually gives me a talking to before I do something I regret.”
Gojo makes a low whistle, clearly enjoying himself, “Got yourself some fun huh? And you can’t just ask Shoko to keep you on a leash, last night was for her anyway.”
“She doesn't keep me on a leash- ugh you know what it’s fine, do you know if she’s free? I need you guys' help.” I run my hand through my messy hair.
“Mm, I’ll have to check my schedule..”
“Don’t lie to me, you've got nothing going on. Can you guys pick me up?”
He laughs aloud, and I can hear him kicking his feet over the phone, “Ohh a one night stand gone wrong?”
I huff and can't stop the weak smile that comes to the surface. “Pick me up and you’ll get all the details~"
“I’ll be there in 15, send your location. Want me to stay on the phone?”
I send the location and wait for the fallout.
“I'm walking to my car now, and- oh, okay, just got the notification..”
“How are you already on your way? It’s practically the ass crack of dawn, are you even dres-”
“IS THAT NANAMI’S BUILDING?” He was so loud the mic peaked, I had to pull the phone away from my ear.
“I’m waiting!” And abruptly cut the line.
True to his word, a quarter hour passed and his familiar black car pulled up in front of the building, Gojo’s window already rolled down and he yelled out the window, “HOP IN! Now!”
I didn’t keep him waiting.
I hopped into the passenger seat and kept my eyes on the road ahead, not giving Gojo the satisfaction of acknowledging his grin, “Just drive, I don't care where, just anywhere other than here.”
“You're not even gonna tell us why you're in such a rush?”
I slump in my seat, leaning my head on the window and whine a little before answering Shoko, “Please, at least get me breakfast before you make me talk.”
Gojo whined and complained the entire way, but I wouldn’t let up, and Shoko got tired before long and managed to shut him up.
It hadn’t even been a minute after ordering a coffee to go that the pestering started up again.
“You disappear halfway through the night, we don’t hear from you for over twelve hours, and when you do call you're asking to be picked up from one Nanami Kento’s apartment building..”
“Just because I was at Kento’s building doesn't mean that I was with him.. It could've been anyone from any of those apartments.”
Sitting beside Gojo directly opposite to me, Shoko looks me in the eye and I turn away before she grabs my chin and forces me to meet her gaze. The way she saw straight through me.. I deflate with a sigh and bury my head in my hands as Gojo hollers.
“I don’t know how it happened.. I don’t remember anything that happened after Gojo started crying.”
That cut him off real quick as he scrambled to defend himself, “That was only for, like, five minutes! At least I didn’t end up in my best friend’s bed.”
“You're a bit too loud for someone that wants exactly that to happen to him.. Are you sure you aren’t just jealous?”
“I don’t know what youre talking about.”
“Hey Shoko, mind taking a peep at his call log for me?”
She didn’t even get the chance to raise her hand before his phone was off the table, powered off and slipped into his pocket, all with a straight and stony face.
Now it was my turn to snicker at him, at least that was before my phone started to ring. An unknown number?
“Hello..?”
“Hi, I’m calling to confirm your appointment with us at 4 pm?” Excuse me.
“I’m sorry, appointment? Who is this?” I don’t remember having anything planned today.. I put the call on speaker and opened the calendar on my phone. Nothing. Gojo and even Shoko were now listening in.
“Oh, it seems like there's a note here.. Seems like this appointment is complimentary, arranged by one of our dentists.” Gojo’s eyes light up with pure mischievous joy. Who the fuck do I know thats a denti-
Nanami.
Fucking.
Kento.
The realisation hit me later than it did Gojo, who had his chin set on his intertwined hands as he quietly smiled at me.
“Ah.. okay, um- yeah I’ll be there. Is there any possibility I can change dentists..?”
“I apologise, but this was a free of charge appointment offered by one of our dentists of their own choice, no other dentists would be willing to do something like this.”
How thoughtfully inconvenient..
“Alright, I’ll be there at 4 then.”
The call ends shortly after that.
That blue eyed grinch was nearly giggling at this point, the shit eating jackass.
“Shut up.”
“I-”
“No, no, shut up, now please, no.”
“I’m just-”
“Shoko, please..”
She sighed and put out her cigarette before lightly knocking Gojo on the back of the head, and that seemed to get him to knock it off. “What're you gonna do now?”
“I don’t know.. How do I even face him? After last night? What do you guys think?”
Shoko only shrugged, a clear ‘it’s up to you’. Gojo didn’t hesitate to voice his opinion though.
“I mean, you've already said yes to the appointment, so youre gonna have to figure it out.”
“Wow, thanks. Helpful.”
He only half heartedly shrugged, “Nanami’s a good guy. And whatever happens you can give us a call, anyways.”
A nonchalant way of showing support, because he can’t seem too soft. I can't help laughing a little before getting up and paying for my drink. “Thanks, man. I’ll see you guys later today, probably.”
Shoko tapped her second cigarette against an ashtray before looking up at me, “Going already? You don’t have to be there until 4.”
“Yeah, but I seriously need a shower. Sorry for troubling you guys so much.”
“Hey, no worries! You gave me a fun start to the day. Keep us updated, okay?”
I waved back at him as I walked away to find a cab back home.
A shower, a nap and a few hours later, I was sitting in the waiting room, the pit in my stomach growing with every minute that passes, along with the temptation to get up and make a run for it while I still could.
“You can head in now, second door on the right.”
I flash her a nervous, albeit thankful smile and get on with it, hesitating at the door, hand unsteady on the handle.
The choice is taken out of my hands when the kind man himself, Nanami Kento, opens the door from the other side.
It’s not an unfamiliar face, I know him well, but the recent context made the image of him in my mind slightly blurred, undefined and unclear. But still, I knew that smile, and that was reassuring enough to get me into the patient chair.
He was acting completely normally. He stood the same, walked the same, sat in silence with me just like he did before.
“So, I know I mentioned this to you before, but this’ll be a perfectly normal check up. You said you had a bit of tenderness on the bottom right?”
“Oh, yeah. Uh, thanks for this, I could have just paid you know.”
He looked away from whatever was on his computer’s screen and to me with furrowed brows, “Is something wrong?”
It's a little embarrassing how that put me on edge. Was that weird to say? People pay their dentists, but that isn’t all he is. “Mm? Nothings wrong. What makes you ask?”
He swivels on his chair to face me completely and gets closer, eyes boring into me, “We've been friends for years, this isn't the first time I've offered to check a random tooth ache of yours and suddenly you're trying to pay?”
“I mean, that’s different, this is in the actual chair this time, I don't know. It just felt like maybe I should pay for your time.”
“Just last week you called me three separate times in the early hours of the morning just to talk. We're way past conventional boundaries at this point. What aren’t you telling me?”
I picked at the skin on my thumbs as he kept on talking, because what do I say? He clearly doesn't remember what happened, so do I ignore it? Is it worth mentioning at that point?
“Are you acting like this because of what happened yesterday?”
“Huh? Yesterday?”
“When I ran into you at the nightclub last night.”
Son of a bitch, that rings a bell. “When do you even go to clubs?”
“Ino suggested I try something out of my comfort zone.”
“Oh. And that's when we..?”
“Do you not remember?”
“I mean.. Do you?”
“Admittedly, not much, but bits and pieces.”
“Oh. Okay then.”
The air was tense, and eye contact was nonexistent, on his part at least. It was equal parts funny and endearing, watching him be so uncharacteristically nervous.
“Hey, listen about last night, just forget about it.”
His head snapped to me, his gaze finally meeting mine after such an intense exercise in avoiding it.
“Forget about it?”
I wave him off, “Yeah, no worries, we’ll just forget it ever happened, y’know? Don’t stress about it. It’s just whatever.”
Not a word came from him for a long while as he studied my expression, though what he was looking for was a mystery to me. Did he think I was kidding..?
“What if I said I don’t want to forget last night?”
Heat rushed to my face as I struggled to find something to say, the words on my tongue hiding from my grasp. “I’m- um. Huh?”
He takes a deep breath and sighs lightly before he reaches forward and brings his hand closer to my own, fingers nearly making contact before shying away at the last possible centimeter.
“I speak for myself, but I do not regret it. Even though I do wish that it was in a more- uh, ideal circumstance.”
The rush of emotions choke me, my words barely making it out of my throat.
“Sounds like you put some thought into it.”
He averts his gaze to the floor, a mild flush gracing his complexion. Kento’s never been one to shy away from anything, and I couldn’t help but smile a little. He was being too adorable, and I was feeling a little emboldened.
“How would you have wanted it to happen then?”
His gaze flits back to me and I get to see his usual little non-frown, the expression between a glare and annoyed grimace. “You're being cruel.”
“No! No, no Kento, really. Come on man, talk to me.” I try not to laugh as I sit up to face him properly.
He huffs and his expression shifts into something more alive. “I don’t know how I wanted it to happen. I’ve thought of possibly taking you for a nice dinner, but that seemed too formal, but you deserve more than just lounging about and watching shows together.” His eyes are alright, and I don’t remember when it was that our hands intertwined, but I don’t think I mind at all. “...But I do know that I would have wanted to be able to at least remember.”
“Remember what?”
“Our, ah… first time. Us. You.”
“You make it sound like you're some kind of virgin. Ha, you haven’t been saving yourself for me, have you Kento?” I can’t suppress the small grin or the faint tingle I felt in my gut with every exchanged word, with every letter that makes it to the open air.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” He huffs before showing me his own little smile, bringing our intertwined hands to his lips, pressing a soft kiss to the back of my hand and sending cascading fire down every nerve from my hand to every part of me. “But everything is different with you. Everything has meaning with you.”
I feel clouds form in my lungs and rising to my eyes, a raindrop of a tear or two slipping past before I attempt and fail to discreetly wipe them away with my free hand. Kento freezes, his hand stiffening around my own.
His grip loosens slightly, my own grip strengthening in turn.
“I’m sorry, I overdid it. I shouldn’t have-”
“It’s not that, fuck, Kento that might be the sweetest thing anyone’s ever told me.”
His frown eases and he pressed more kisses to the back of my hand, his smile felt even when I can’t see it clearly.
“Well, I’m glad I didn’t come on too strongly, then.”
I sigh and he looks up at me, our gazes locked for seconds that felt like they dragged on for infinitely longer.
“How come you never mentioned any of that?”
He closes his eyes and ponders for an answer that did not need any thinking on his part.
“It never felt like the right time.”
“Really? Come on, I haven’t had a serious relationship in ages. Sounds like you've gotten in the habit of making excuses for yourself.” I playfully scoff.
“You know me better than that.”
I do, don’t I?
I take both his hands into my own and bring them to my waist. He gives me a look I can’t read, so many different feelings in his eyes, a maelstrom of emotion.
“Nothing’s stopping us from having another first time. One that we can actually remember this time.”
His face remained unreadable, but his hands were now shaking under my own.
“But- last night..?”
“I won’t count it if you don’t?”
His expression breaks as he laughs, laughter and noises of joy spilling from him even as he kisses me again, for the first time.
I wrap my arms around his neck, relishing in the sensation of his lips on my own.
His arms hold me close to him, our bodies pressed together, a level of closeness in regards to one another that had never before experienced by our sober minds.
He pulled away from me, my lips following him in a daze before he brought a hand to my face, caressing with his thumb.
“What’s wrong? Did I do something?” The words tumble out of me in a near-incoherent mess.
“No. Nothing’s wrong. Absolutely nothing.” He whispers before coming back to me, lips to lips, in each other's arms.
The feeling of his tongue sliding against mine, of his hands on my hips and bringing me closer to him, our bodies nearly flush together. All the sensations had me flushed and in a daze, heat in the bottom of my stomach, every inch of contact sending waves upon waves of jolts that traveled up my spine.
A hand comes from behind and pulls my head back by the hair, the surprise and pain mellow into sweet sensitivity as he kisses and nips against my neck, taking his time to make sure there wasn't a single spot of skin he hadn’t left untainted.
“You know that’s gonna leave more than a few marks, right?”
His response is muffled, what with his continuing abuse of my neck, but the sentiment is clear when I suck in a sharp gasp, weakly restraining myself from making any noise as his sneaky fingers continue pinching at my chest.
After too long spent grinding against the other, I pulled away from him, a hand on his chest as my mind came down from the heights of euphoria.
After a moment, I came to enough sense to form words again.
“Hey, hey maybe we should go a bit slower. This is still your workplace, you know.”
Kento looked at me like he couldn’t comprehend what I was saying before he completely pulled away.
“Right. Yes, you're right.” He went to stand and walk away before I grabbed him by the front of his shirt, his look of mild bewilderment entertaining enough to make the time without him on me or vice versa almost worth it.
“I said slower, not slow. I can't let you go through the rest of the business day after putting you through that.” I smile up at him as my hand trails down to his belt.
His hands stop my own, a weak grip keeping them in place. “As much as I appreciate that, you don’t have to feel obligated to do that for me. It’s near the end of the work day anyways-” His concern was clear and it was so incredibly sweet, but I needed him so bad right now I was getting dizzy.
“Kento, I appreciate that, and you're such a sweetheart but if I don’t have you in my mouth in the next minute I might lose my mind.” The bluntness of my words struck true, the concern exchanged for a wild blush as his hands let go of mine and instead found a place at his side, hanging lazily.
The belt was easy to get out of the way, and the pants zipper and button were even easier, the air seemed to get heavier with every breath as everything seemed so surreal, a little smidge of lightheadedness painting the world away as my eyes tunnel visioned on Kento Nanami and absolutely nothing else.
With a breath to steady myself, I pull down his pants, the grey boxers now in view. The impressive tent was breathtaking, a slight dampness at the tip from the leaking pre.
I ran a hand over his clothed cock, peppering it in little kisses and enjoying the little groans that came from Kento, a hand in my hair but went out of his way to be more gentle, only tugging slightly when I lingered for too long on one spot.
My hands brought down the boxers slowly, enjoying the gradual reveal of his cock before it sprung out.
I wrap my hand around his warm cock, taking a moment to caress the tip with my thumb, pre-cum gradually lubing up my hand as I stroked from tip to base, taking my time and going at what must have been to him a grueling pace, considering the way he groaned almost in pain, impatience clear in his voice, but he was polite, and he never sounded a single complaint.
I planted a kiss on the tip, at which Kento grabbed a fistful of my hair, but still refrained from tugging, like the gentleman he is.
I ran my tongue across the length, from the base along the shaft and right to the tip before taking it whole in my mouth, nearly startled at the overly loud and sudden moan from Kento that he quickly muffled, hopefully fast enough for no one to step in.
I swirl my tongue around the tip, the salty taste of the pre cum filling my mouth as I took more and more of his cock into my mouth, making sure to breathe and not suffocate on the utter mouthful that was Kento, working my tongue as I went while my hands wander along Kento’s body, with one hand caressing his thighs as the other goes under his scrubs and feeling along his chest, pinching his nipple to hear a strangled noise from him.
I bobbed my head up and down, taking my time with the pace, spit running down his cock as I went, lubricating it thoroughly. The feeling of him in my mouth, the way his breath shuddered under my touch, it was almost euphoric.
He abruptly pulls me off of his cock roughly by my hair, throwing me into a spinning state of confusion at the sudden change, my mind grappling at the surroundings.
Leaning down, he gave me a kiss before grabbing me by the arms and laying me on the patient chair, reclining it completely to be flat and standing behind me, his cock right above my face.
“I hope you don’t mind me changing plans?”
“Straying from vanilla so soon, Kento? I’m not boring you am I?”
“You could never. Hit my leg twice if you need me to stop.”
It gave me whiplash, how we would go from being sickeningly sweet to instructing me on how to not get myself killed by his cock.
He took a step, his cock getting closer and my mouth opening in eager reception. That did not save me from the shock of having it slammed down my throat with the force of Kento’s own body weight before staying still.
In my attempt to breathe, I noticed his muskiness, almost unable to pinpoint what it was with the constant airway blocker.
He seemed to have had enough of torturing me, instead alternating between withdrawing his cock and choking me with it rapidly, the assault a constant over stimulating rush of white and force, of taste and smell and warmth.
His hands wrap around my throat to steady me, his pace constant as he fucks my throat raw, and I don’t even have the awareness necessary t pray that noone walked in on us, especially in such a compromising situation.
Groans grew louder and more frequent, the grip on my throat was getting stronger, and by now i was starting to lose consciousness, the lack of airflow making it difficult to even stay aware for long before I felt the stutter in his thrusts growing more and more frequent until he rammed as much as he could of his cock into my throat, and I could faintly register the pulsing of his cock or the warmth of his cum before he pulls out and I can catch a genuine breath.
I sat up, supported by Kento, who had already tucked himself away back into the boxers and managed to make himself look presentable as ever, once again, while I looked like an absolute mess.
I hear him clear his throat before looking at me sheepishly.
“Thank you. That was definitely more memorable than I could have imagined.”
I smile at him as I try to manage my messy hair, “Positively, I hope.”
“Of course.” He looked serious, as though any other possibility did not even register to him. “Now, about dinner tonight…”
I was already on my feet, giving him a kiss and on my way out the door before he even finished the sentence, “I’ll leave it up to you, Kento, I have some updates to give. See you at home!”
He calls out my name, but I was already dialing that snow dusted twink’s number.

This one is for my very darling friend @loving-and-dreaming, my first mutual, and a very wonderful friend <3 HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVELY
Steve Harrington x reader, no indicators or pronouns. Reader does not like their birthday but steve helps them have a good one this year, no warnings <3
1.9k
Having only been with Steve Harrington for a little less than half a year, birthdays haven’t really come up yet. It was easy to skirt around the topic since the one time he asked directly was at Dustin’s party and with all the commotion you could dodge it with just saying the month and feigning distraction by the cake Claudia put out.
Since your 15th birthday they’ve all been a little bit of a let down. Either other commitments get in the way of your friends celebrating with you, and other family birthdays being right around it distracted them too. Even if last year’s before you met Steve and were introduced to the group was a little better than usual, it wasn’t exactly good. It’s easy to be tempted by optimism, seeing how easy it is for him to be so caring, thinking maybe he’d give you some kind of celebration, the kind you’ve been waiting for since you were a teenager. Imagining what it’d be like to say “Did I forget to tell you my birthday’s next month?” and hear something like “No way, do you want to go out? Have people over?” and then tell him every dream birthday celebration you can remember coming up with until you realized that they’d probably never come true. AND THEN HOW HE’D MAKE THEM COME TRUE. Because you know him by now and you know that he absolutely would, but there’s always the underlying assumption that it’d end up like it does every year and to give yourself hope like that would just be inviting more room to be let down.
With each day that passes only leaves less time to tell him…at least there’s still his birthday…
***
“Are you ready, babe?” Steve called from the kitchen thinking you’re still in your bedroom getting your jewelry on.
“Yeah, just getting my shoes on!” You yelled from the front hall. When you stood up to check through your purse and make sure everything is in it, you noticed your wallet was missing. “Steve! Can you see if my wallet’s on the counter?”
“Yeah, it’s right here.” He noticed it was left open and saw your driver's license through the clear slot. Then he noticed the first digit of your birthdate, then the day, then he flushed with panic thinking that you had to have told him and he just forgot that your birthday is literally tomorrow. In a split second of deliberation, he decided that to ask about it right then would be a horrific moment of self incrimination, and that the very second he got home he’d try as hard as he could to make the day special for you.
***
There was hardly a wait at the restaurant, only having to wait for a few minutes in the foyer before the hostess came to get you. “Hey, um, would you give me just a second? I gotta go make a call real quick.”
“Yeah– yeah, that’s ok.” You were left watching the goldfish floating through the blue fluorescent lights of their tank while Steve went to the payphone behind the coat closet. You guys don’t have birthdays, do you? You’re fish…
“All good.” He came back around the corner and slid into the seat next to you, even leaning in to kiss your jaw, too.
“Who’d you call?”
“Hm?”
“You have secrets now, Mr. Harrington?”
“Only the good kind.”
“Hmmm, well that’s debatable,” you lolled your neck so you could look at him out of the corner of your eye, he tilted his head and cocked a brow. “A good kind of secret?”
“There’s nice secrets as long as they’re eventually not secrets.”
You opened your mouth to respond, but were cut short by the hostess. “If you’ll follow me please?”
***
“We’ll go back to your place, right?” Steve asked you as he got into the driver’s seat.
“You don’t have to work tomorrow?”
“Uhhh,” he feigned looking at his watch, “not for 14 hours. I can just drop you off if you wanted, too?”
“If you think you can make it on time?”
“I think I’ll make it.” He made the definitive turn between your house and his and it only made a few minutes difference.
***
You woke up with a flutter of lashes and a deep breath filling all of your lungs from your place cuddled next to Steve on your bed. “Good morning,” you smiled up at him and curled deeper, pulling the duvet back over your shoulders again.
“Good morning,” he repeated and kissed your hairline just shy of your forehead. “And happy birthday.”
“What?” It sounded breathy and a little pained in a way that frightened him.
“Is it not–?”
“No, no it is. I just didn’t know you knew.” You pushed up from the bed and away from his side.
“Was I not supposed to?”
“No, no, it’s good, it’s a good thing. I just don’t like to make a big deal of it.”
“You don’t want to do anything today?”
“I would like us to go about it as we would any other day.”
“Did something happen? Like did something happen on your birthday to make you not want to celebrate it?”
You settled back in but laid on your back next to him instead of on him, “Not really, but nothing especially good has happened either.”
“At all.”
“Steve, it’s been years since I had a good birthday. I don’t like anticipating anything.”
“So you didn’t tell me it was your birthday because you didn’t think it’d be good?”
“It sounds really terrible when you put it like that.”
“Cus it is a little bit.” Your look was more apologetic than you realized. “But I’m not gonna be too mad at you because it’s your birthday.”
“No, you should be mad at me. Just let it be a regular day, really I’m so ok with it. I’m used to it that way.”
“I’m not going to be mad at you, I don’t want to be mad at you. What I want is to do something nice for you on the one day in the whole year that’s just supposed to be focused on you.”
“There’s so many more important days, I promise you I’m really ok with just letting it be like any other day.”
“So you don’t want a present?” The way he said it made it obvious that he definitely had a present for you already.
You couldn’t help the grin that spread across your face. “Well, if you got one already I won’t refuse.”
“I’ll be right back.” As soon as he left the bed a rush of cool air flooded your covers and you rolled over into the warmth of the space he left. “Ok, bed hogger, open it.”
“I’m not a bed hogger. It’s my bed.” He sat on the edge to watch as you ripped off the top of the envelope. “When did you do all this?” “I had Robin run it over last night, I thought she’d do a better job at picking a card than Eddie would.”
“While I was asleep you were making people run house calls to my apartment?”
“Just open the card.”
“Ok, ok,” The front cover was a pink and white speckled patterned moment with an oval in the center showcasing a bouquet of flowers in generic shades of pink. The inside was just as adorable, but more in sentiment than it was in looks.
From ink cover to cover you read through his message to you, even if it was a little confusing with the way he wrote around the little pre printed message in the center of the second page rather than over it.
I’m not always the best with words, and I don’t think I’m any better at this hour, but I need you to know that I love you so much. I’m so grateful that I get to know you, and everything about you, and that I get to love you and all of those things. You’ve given me so much and I hope I can return that feeling. I want to give you the world. Happy Birthday.
Love,
Steve
The second half was covered in a scramble of half asleep drawings; flowers, little puppies, one of the both of you as stick figures. He’s too precious.
“Thank you so much, honey.” Fit to cry you sat up to ask for a hug before too many feelings overtook you.
“And you’ll get your real present later.”
“What’s later?”
“When we have a totally normal, preplanned gathering at my place. That thing, been in the calendar for weeks now.”
“I don’t think it has been.”
“Well it’s there now, isn’t it? My place? 7?”
“You have work ‘til 8.”
“It’d probably be 8:30 with the way Keith has been going, but no I called in a favor with him last night, I’m leaving early.”
“You need to stop calling in favors for me.”
“I don’t want to.”
“If you insist.”
***
“Mmmm, go fish.”
“How long do you think this game is gonna go on?” You sat forward on the couch to rest your chin on Steve’s shoulder. The length of the evening getting to you now that someone had the bright idea to play go fish with two decks.
“Has to be at least an hour. You gotta perk up, we haven’t even had cake yet, you still got all your presents from the kids to open.”
“I’ll see what I can muster. Can you play for me? I want to go hug Robin.”
“Sure thing, honey.”
“Thank you, my love.” You kissed his jaw, closer to his neck though it was all you could reach, as you handed him the cards. Robin brought her arm around you before you even fully sat down. With your head resting on her shoulder you got to look around at all the people who came here to show you how much they love you. Even the kids scrounged together what they could to give you a sweet gift, take it as you will that it was a semi-creepy porcelain figurine from the antique store, maybe it makes it better that El was the one that told you they all saw it and immediately thought of you, as strangely humanoid the little animals look.
The game went faster when you were half asleep on Robin’s shoulder, but you were easily woken up by the arguments that ensued after the first “No way you won!”
“Alright dickheads, cake in the kitchen! Now.” Steve had his hands on his hips as he ordered the kids to stop fighting the best way he knew how, through food.
“You’ve gotta be nicer to them,” he brought you into his side as you walked into the kitchen together.
“I will when they earn it.”
“Better than nothing.”
“Was this a good birthday?”
“Better than most, yes.”
“Really?”
“Mhm, really. But you set a high bar for next year.”
“With one day's notice? You bet it’s higher for next year.”

It was around 12 pm when you received a text from you boyfriend that he would be home a bit early today not exactly telling you the time that he would be home assuming he wouldn’t be home for a another hour or two as you finish the last bit of your sandwich before placing the plate in the dishwasher
Heading out of the kitchen walking through the living room as you head for the stairs to your shared bedroom opening the door as he was always left cracked open since you lived alone with Shi Oh, entering the bedroom heading for the closet grabbing each handle of the closet pulling the doors open allowing you to step inside the huge closet eyes scanning around the closet before landing on a box that looked to be untouched reaching for the box heading out of the closet as you put the box on your shared bed slowly opening the top of the box …It was a lingerie set a bra with pretty butterfly designs on the breast are as well as a matching butterfly on the front of the thongs * like this *
Tumblr media
Smiling a bit as your remembering how you would always stop and stare at the matching set any time you were in the lingerie store with Ryu Shi Oh but you didn’t think he would actually get it for you staring at the matching set as you then become a bit confused
‘why did he tell me to wait until today to wear it tho, it’s so pretty’ reader thought letting out a small sigh as you shake the thoughts out of your head before taking the matching set out of the box taking the box throwing it in the near by trash in your shared room going towards your dresser in the left corner of the huge room
Opening the top right drawer looking at the drawer full of different colors of silk robes , deciding to go with the white laced see through robe quickly grabbing the silk white robe closing the drawer looking at your different variety of perfumes , lotions and other smell goods on the top of the dresser grabbing your berries scent body scrub along with you 24 hr lotion , perfume and body wash that was also berry scented as it came in a set
Putting your lotion perfume and robe on the bed as you head for the bathroom leaving the door open since you were the only one in the house at the moment, grabbing two new clean one for your body and the other for your girly parts turning towards the walk in shower sliding the see through glass door open reaching your hands for the shower’s knob quickly turning the knob as you turn the water towards hot
Waiting a few seconds before striping completely out of your clothes taking your hair out of your ponytail allowing your head to breath a bit before stepping inside the shower sliding close the glass door behind you, turning to face the hot water sighing as the water runs down your naked body causing your muscles to relax stepping closer to the shower head as your hair becomes soaked the hot water flowing down your hair as it travels down your body while your become deep in thought
It’s been a good 15 minutes since you’ve been in the shower your mind still roaming about what you should do tomorrow since tomorrow would be Ryu Shi Oh only day off sighing as your mind continues to roam with thoughts not allowing you to hear the sound of your name being called from downstairs causing Shi Oh to become a bit confused his brows now knitted together as he looks around the first floor not seeing your presence as he starts to head for the stairs
Reader still letting her mind roam freely not hearing the should of heavy footsteps coming up the stairs , slowly heading towards the bedroom as they come to a stop for a few seconds
Ryu Shi Oh now stopped on his tracks looking at the bed seeing your clothes let out on the bed his eyes which were already dark now filled with lust turning his head towards the open bathroom door smirking as Ryu Shi oh slowly walks towards the bathroom stopping at the door as his eyes stare at your naked form though the glass smirk growing a bit wider as he didn’t make a sound just stares at your naked form , suddenly feeling eyes pierce through your skull lifting your head quickly wiping the water that dropped down your face turning quickly only to for your eyes to fall on Ryu Shi oh becoming a bit confused as he slowly was closer stoping at the sliding door before he strips out of his work suit sliding the door open and stepping inside once he was undressed
Your eyes never leaving Ryu Shi Oh’s form as you feel your breath become caught in your throat .. don’t get it wrong you’ve seen him naked a lot of times but something was different today .. his veins were more visible than they would normally be , his muscles looked more tense than usual as his veins was more of a bluish color as your eyes continued to scan over Ryu Shi oh not telling that he got closer to you eyes never leaving your smaller form
“S-Shi oh what’s wrong..” reader says a bit nervously his dark eyes never leaving yours , closing the gap between you his lips attacking your neck with wet kisses causing you to let out a small moan as his cold hand gently squeeze your plump breast licking up your neck before giving you a rough kiss causing you to moan in the kiss , slowly moving his hand down your wet body grabbing at your thigh wrapping your leg around his torso before slowly moving to your now dripping core as you become more needy with every touch
Deepening the kiss as he plays with your wet fluids groaning into the kiss from how soaked you were and he didn’t do much feeling his member start to become excited as his inserts two of his long slender fingers into your entrance as he starts pumping them at a fast pace causing you to pull away from the kiss as you let out a loud moan , groaning a bit before kisses your neck making sure to leave his mark before picking up his pace pulling away from your neck after a few seconds dark eyes now looking at your dripping cunt as he adds a third finger growing at how tight you were groaning as you tighten around his fingers
“R-Ryu S-shi oh.. p-please” reader moans out feeling you knew your were close but his fingers weren’t enough you need him
“Please what, I don’t know what you mean pretty girl” Ryu Shi oh replies voice deeper than usual letting out a loud moan as you feel his fingers pump in and out of you faster your walls squeezing tears building in your eyes as Ryu Shi oh lets out a dark chuckle curling his fingers in your soaked cunt
Amusement and lust fills his eyes as they never leave your small form your arms wrapped around his neck tightly , your loud moans filling his ears biting at his lower lip feeling his member now harden and leaking of precum quickly removing his fingers as from your soaked cunt now tighten around nothing , grabbing your other leg before wrapping it around his torso keeping your back against the shower wall the hot water now running down both your naked bodies
Attacking your lips with another kiss causing your to moan in the kiss you were so focused on the kiss you didn’t notice as he slowly strokes his member before lining his swollen tip still leaking with precum as he pushes the tip past you entrance making sure to not push another further causing you to whine as you try to push down his whole 8 inch cock only for Ryu Shi oh to grab at your hips making sure you stay in place deepening the kiss as you let out another whine , letting out a chuckle as he pulls away from the kiss once again leaving kisses at your neck before slamming the rest of his member in to your soaked cunt
Letting out a loud gasp as Ryu Shi oh doesn’t give you time to adjust to his size as he quickly picks up his pace pounding into your soaked cunt , grabbing at his hair as your other hand scratches at his back only causing him to grown before picking up his pace , tears now streaming down your face as your mind starts to become blank only focusing on how Ryu Shi Oh cock was now bullying your cervix cash ring you to tighten with each thrust , Ryu Shi oh now looking at your facial expressions your eyes rolled to the back of your head tears streaming down your face as your mouth a gasp stopping his pace as he takes his hands from your thighs now placing them under your plump ass with a good hold before turning to slide open the shower door heading for the bed room not caring how soaked you were quickly throwing your on the bed as he turns you on your stomach in one swift motion pulling your ass in the air before you could process what was happening he pushing his 8inch harden coo back into your swollen cunt picking up his pace your hands now gripping at the sheets trying to pull away as you could feel a budge form in the pit of your stomach and you knew it was his cock leaving a nudge on you stomach with each hard thrust he took placing a hand in the middle of your back his eyes watching as your plump ass bounces back against him with each hard thrust
Letting out a deep groan as he places his other hand in your back causing your back to arch more than it was as your mouth lay agasp
“S-s-shi FUCK Shi oh p-p-please I-I can’t…t-to much a-shi o-OH” reader moans out as you feel one of his huge hands now gripping tightening at your hips as your feel his thrust become a bit sloppy a knot now forming in the pit of your stomach gripping at the sheets as you try to pull away only to be slammed back against his throbbing cock causing him to go deeper in your womb
“F-Fuck just stay-y s-still and hold it” Ryu Shi Oh says more of a demand as you knew he knew you were cumming but you also knew that you couldn’t hold it not with how he was abusing your cervix with is cock not caring that you had tears running down your face it only made him want to fuck into you more he loved how you took him so well letting he toss you around like a rag doll , he loved how his shy and quiet doll could get so loud for him and only him picking up his pace as he throws his head back a grin held on his lips as he feels your juices releasing on he harden member looking down at you gripping at your hips as he pounds harder into you sensitive cunt your juices leaking from your swollen cunt as he strokes become sloppier by the second before letting out a deep grain as he covered your tight walls with his cum tightening his jaw as he slowly pulls out of your soaked cunt sitting on the edge of the bed as he looks at you his cock still hardened , his veins still visible standing to his feet as he heads for the bathroom going for the bath tub as he runs warm water while your tired and sore form slowly drifts off to sleep

Hi Sitp!!! Thank you so much for your recs! You're a godsent! Do you have fics where Draco, or Harry, realise they love the other one and the feelings are so strong they decide to run away? And then they come back and grovel? Or just fics with groveling only :)
Hello friend! Great flavour of make up/break up, I’m not generally into (a lot of) grovelling but here are some recs that I hope will work for you:
Be Still by Writcraft (E, 5k)
Harry’s back in England and Draco tries to fix things before he disappears again.
What Real Thing? by loveglowsinthedark (E, 12k)
They don’t cuddle, they don’t talk about their relationship (or lack thereof) and they certainly never fall asleep in each other’s arms.
Make Me a Headline (I Want to Be That Bold) by dicta_contrion (E, 31k)
Draco never expected to see Harry doing that again. Especially with someone else, in a grainy photograph that's landed on his desk one Monday morning.
Potential Gravity by zeitgeistic (E, 32k)
Draco is not good at Cards Against Humanity, but Harry’s not good at being human, so it all works out. Except for the explosions. And Harry’s inability to live when Draco’s not around.
Red Thread (that will lead me home to you) by xErised (E, 35k)
It takes four years of travelling and mutual pining for Harry to realise that Malfoy is the only one for him. Of course, he has to express his feelings in the most scandalous way possible—by stopping Malfoy's very proper, very pureblood wedding.
All Roads by korlaena, Saulaie (M, 36k)
Draco hates his job at the Prophet. He hates it even more when he’s assigned to write an article on Harry Potter, who left the country three years ago after their falling out. Draco doesn’t want to face the truth about himself, but he’s stuck between Harry and his duty, and he’s out of options.
(We'll Call This Fixer-Upper) Home by phdmama (E, 52k)
Draco Malfoy hasn’t set foot on English soil in ten years. After the war, he fled to America, where he found himself in a community, and healed himself through following his heart into music. He’s now the lead singer and songwriter for an internationally known band, who have come back to headline the Wiltshire Music Festival.
A Sword Laid Aside by korlaena (E, 128k)
When Draco’s cover is blown during a deep undercover operation and the Ministry is compromised, Ron takes Draco to the only safe place he can think of—Potter. Hiding out with a taciturn Harry Potter, who has been missing from the Wizarding World for almost two decades after a shocking fall from grace, is nothing like Draco thought it would be.
Dwelling on Dreams by The_Sinking_Ship (E, 135k)
Draco thought he could avoid Potter for the duration of his brief return to England. He’d stick to his schedule and be back home in Paris, where he belonged, in a few short months. No trouble at all.

You know... I can't help but feel that Orb is talking about Junior and his father here. (also possibly referring to the royal family from their own era but anyway) Time to get my brain worms out.
When Junior's animations changed a few months ago, I've been pondering the meaning of it ever since.
I may be fairly new to the game and not particularly active but it's the story, and more specifically Junior that caught my eye and made me want to play, even if sporadically.
When I first saw him, he was a lot more confident, standing tall and proud, flourishing his cutlass as if he didn't have a care in the world.
These days, however, his animations seem a lot more guarded, he's hunched, hiding his face, turning away... He's even putting his cutlass between himself and us. Now to me, that tells me there's something wrong with him or something is going on, and I've always wondered if everything he's done in the name of his father is starting to catch up to him.
In the book where he describes himself, he gives no hint of having any evil nature. Ambitious, overconfident and a bit of an idiot? Absolutely, but not evil... But back then he didn't have any street smarts either, so to speak. Now I know being a skeleton changes things and messes with the mind, but it wasn't until he met Wanda that he fixated on Serving his Father, obsessively so, desperate to prove himself like so many others. That adoration and idealisation he had of Flameheart as a child still persists even though his mental image was reshaped by her.
Flameheart was never a good man, he was a bully and a tyrant and still is, but even though he was an absent father, he still gave Junior the best childhood he could, perhaps reliving his own ideal childhood fantasies through his newly adopted son. (that could be another reason why he adopted the child in the first place because it seems so out of character but anyway) That left Junior with a deep level of affection for him, which of course we know about... (but perhaps some melancholy too)
But the Flameheart we have now isn't the one he knew growing up. He in fact never was, only telling him an idealised version of events and keeping secrets. Junior himself says his father told him he didn't need to know what he saved the boy from. (Flameheart attacked and sank the ship Junior was on as a baby so there's that)
That brings me to my theory...
I can't help but wonder if actually working 'with' his Father has begun to create cracks in that blazing ideal image of his, that those rose-tinted glasses are beginning to slip, no matter which shape they take. He had one idea of his father in his mind as a child, that of a hero, which set him on his journey in the first place. No doubt the Cap'n gave him one too, telling him of the betrayal and the horrors he committed... Then so did Wanda, praising him, lording him, and elevating him to the kingly status Flameheart craves now. (though part of that was obviously her own ambition speaking)
But with them all out of the picture, Junior gets to see his father for who he truly is now, for the bloodthirsty, blazing pit of vicious sadistic hatred that he actually is.
For a while, I could see him obsessively working to serve his father as he said he would, in fact, we've seen this with him creating and being the face of the Reapers we know today, resurrecting his father and being his right-hand man. I'm sure for a while he would have been over the moon to be working alongside his father, the man he adored growing up, his idol, his role model... Well, you know what they say about meeting your idols...
Here we are now, with Flameheart back near his full power and seeking more and yet... You would think Junior would be elated, even with his reserved and tempered mannerisms. Yet to my eyes... He looks the complete opposite, small, retreating... in pain even....
Let's not forget he's a Skeleton Lord, even though he's nowhere near the power level of Flameheart, he's not just a regular old skeleton... So like Duke, like Wanda... He still retains the majority of his mind. And to my knowledge... He is not bound to Flameheart by magic... only by word. Junior is an intelligent man, one who has gained the use of dark magic, and knows a great deal of disciplines from the outside world. He's a studious, patient and learned man who was trained to be very observant.
So is he having second thoughts? Is that why they changed his animations? Is he beginning to see the truth of his actions and having regrets? Has he realised that the man he's working for, isn't the matching up to the ideal image in his head? (whatever that looks like now)
It could also be he's being prepared to be sacrificed in some ritual, I could see Flameheart doing something like that to maintain his status and power... after all, his biggest fear is being beaten... and currently the biggest potential threat to him... is his right-hand man... as always. After all, it wouldn't be out of fashion for a King's closest advisor and Servant to inevitably betray them.
It would be poetic and fitting for Flameheart (should he need to be defeated at some point for plot resolution) to be beaten by his hubris again, at the hand of his second-in-command. After all, Junior had always dreamed of surpassing his father's legend... And betrayal is a founding principle of the Reaper's Bones... A founding act that Flameheart himself initiated three decades ago.
And we all know, Junior is not safe... but then, now that Flameheart is back, with a thirst for vengeance and army at his fingertips... nobody is.
Anyway, this is my long-ass theoretical ramble that I desperately needed to get out of my brain (god there is so much more i could add but this is plenty long enough so props to you if you read this marathon of prattling). I could be completely off the mark, but fair enough, but this is what I do, latch onto a character, learn the lore and theorise. :)
Anyway, let's see where the story goes, as always me and Raven will be watching from the sidelines with popcorn in hand.

On a scale from 1 to 10 how weird would it be to write a little thank you/goodbye card to a colleague you really like where you'd tell him you learned a lot from him and appreciate his support and had fun working with him? It's a 10, isn't it.
