BnHA Chapter 245: The Second One

Previously on BnHA: We kicked off day one of New Internships with a fun-filled morning of shenanigans. Highlights included: (1) an old bearded man gallivanting around town telling everyone the world is going to end (and making a surprising amount of sense); (2) Bakugou and Deku attempting to rough up a group of impassioned hobos, only to have their thunder stolen from right underneath their noses; and (3) Hawks, the thunder-stealer himself, who proceeded to be all “what’s up fellas, hey Endeavor did you miss me?” Endeavor, who totally did miss him, pretended like he had not, and meanwhile Hawks introduced himself to Endeavor’s new trainees: Finger-Smashing Kid, Kid Who Used To Work For The Guy You Just Murdered, and Shouto (Just Shouto). Then he pulled out a copy of Re-Destro’s book and was all, “hey Endeavor have you heard of this book which was really important to the plot in the previous arc? I think you should read it, for reasons!!” and Endeavor just kind of stared at him, which wasn’t exactly inspiring. Anyways let’s see if these two idiots can manage to pull this off.

Today on BnHA: Hawks shoves the Liberation Army’s book into Endeavor’s hands while staring at him with the intensity of a thousand suns, and then, to avoid suspicion, proceeds to hand out another 500,000 copies of the book without even being asked. He then flies back to the PLF headquarters and is all “good news gentlemen, I gave out copies of the Army’s book to everyone in Japan!” and they’re all “that’s great, Hawks!” because somehow it turns out that this was actually a good plan. Back at the Endeavor Agency HQ, the kids meet Endeavor’s 30+ other sidekicks, who are all “now let’s all stand around and wait for Endeavor to tell us what to do.” Over in his office, Endeavor shrewdly deduces that Hawks was trying to tell him something, and pieces together the hidden code Hawks left in his book, which basically reads “IN FOUR MONTHS WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE.” Back at the PLF, the League cheerfully discusses their plot to blow up the entire world come Springtime. Which apparently everyone is on board with. So, uh, does anyone else feel like they accidentally fell asleep during a really important part of the movie, because uh. What.

(All comments are my unspoiled reactions from my initial readthrough of the chapter. I did a quick edit for grammar and clarity afterward, and added a few ETAs in the process, but aside from that there are no changes.)

okay so two things: (1) as I mentioned in a previous post, Caleb Cook reported that this chapter took him more than 4 times longer than usual to translate. so like, what does that mean?? guess we’re about to find out!

and (2) HAWKS’S REAL NAME. I started typing up this recap early just so I could liveblog my reaction, since it seems that the databook has leaked, and I figure I’m going to stumble across this sooner rather than later. so I’m just going to look it up now here goes!!

lol. I have no idea what that actually means. let me look up some more stuff about this

ooh damn, I love it!? “hawk” + “vision” lolol HORIKOSHI BACK AT IT AGAIN. but “watchman” is a really nice bonus what with how it relates both to the whole spying biz, and in a more general sense toward what he is trying to do as a hero trying to protect society. plus the name “Keigo” just has a really nice sound to it in general. kind of a boyish, youthful sound. not too hard or soft. idk. I like it. that was my favorite character in Bleach too

also apparently both of the kanji used for “Keigo” mean “enlightenment” oooh. my god I could analyze this all day. this being Thursday night, I’ll have some time to ruminate before I read the chapter tomorrow, so if I have any epiphanies I will add them in later!

(ETA: no additional thoughts on this right now, but there is now a ton of other content out from Ultra Analysis, so let’s take a quick look at some of that!

Haagen Dazs’s gender: I now feel vindicated in continuing to refer to him as a “he” even after the face reveal! let this be a lesson to everyone never to judge a shounen character solely by how pretty they are. not that it wouldn’t have been nice to have another female villain! anyways the important thing is that I still don’t have his name memorized and never will!

Thirteen’s gender?!: now this, I don’t really like. Thirteen was already in the previous databook IIRC and their gender was ambiguous. which to be frank was awesome. having a canon nonbinary character was sick. why you gotta do this now Horikoshi smdh.

Reason for Shouji’s mask: nooooo poor Shouji. people in quirk society are jerks! lol I get the arms being scary, but his face?? now I really want to see what he looks like though. it would be cool if he became more accepting of himself as a result of hanging with his chill classmates and decided to ditch the mask. anyways my boy needs a hug.

and there’s a lot of other stuff, including a whole series of cute segments showing the characters’ relationships with each other, but I think I’ll save those for another post because otherwise this would get way too off-track. but man, so far I’m really loving this.)

okay kiddos. it is now Friday, and time to take our horse to the hype town road. I have been waiting all fucking week for this shit so it had better not disappoint!

I think what it is is that this is the exact same bemused/perplexed expression that Shouto gets on his face all the freaking time, and it just tickles me to no end that the apple apparently doesn’t fall far from the tree. ahh Shouto I know you don’t want to hear this but damn boy you look like your dad

anyways. I think we can all agree Endeavor should not be looking this adorable and what the hell. let’s move on

Denkiweek day 2: AU⚡️Storm⚡️Jealousy

(This is an AU where Denki doesn't just have electrical power, but can also create lightning storms, and the results are tied to his emotions) Jealousy, it's a common feeling. It's an emotion that forms from possessiveness, and selfishness. It's an emotion of frustration, it's an emotion of anger, it's an emotion that clouds the mind, and honestly its an emotion that Denki thought he was never capable of until recently. Denki really liked Kirishima, he has ever since the start. He was the first person he ever talked to when he first came to UA, and on that day they immediately clicked. From then on you could never really see one without the other close behind. They were almost inseparable, they always talked, always cracked jokes, always made each other laugh, and always made each other feel better when they needed it most. Their chemistry was extremely apparent, so obviously it wasn't long before they became a thing. And doing so was the most fun they've ever had, it was definitely the next step they needed to take in Denki's opinion. Plus going on dates with Kirishima was pretty great, especially since Denki figured he wouldn't have a single romantic bone in his body. Everything else along with that was pretty great too, they spent day and night together doing all there favorite things and enjoying each others company. Denki couldn't even think of a better way to spend his time. However even though they were together, that didn't stop Kiri from being extremely chummy with others. Specifically people like Tetsutetsu and Katsuki. Denki never minded this though they were Kiri's friends, and his friends too. Plus he's an extremely sociably person, he's knows that from experience. They also had a lot in common so who was he to butt in in anyway. The last thing Denki ever wanted to be was a controlling type of partner. So he just let it be and never gave it mind, until this coming week. Last weekend Denki and Kirishima were just hanging out at the local park. The reason was because Kiri really wanted to see how Denki's quirk worked for himself. So that's exactly what they were doing, they found a nice empty spot and Denki began to work his magic. "Cmon Denki, show me, show me, show me, show me!" Kiri chanted excitedly. "Ok ok calm down, just give me a sec." Denki responded, right before he began to concentrate. He closed his eyes and began to strain himself ever so slightly, raising one hand in the air as a small bundle of clouds stated to form right over their heads. "Whooooooaaa!" Said Kiri in awe at the sight. "Wait for it." Said Denki right before he made a huge lightning strike not more than two feet away from them. Starling Kiri so bad that he fell over in surprise, and the reaction made Denki laugh out loud. "WHOA DUDE THAT WAS AWESOME!" "Hahahaha you really think so?" "I know so Denki, that's a manly power you got there!" "Hehehe well thanks Kiri, but I gotta be careful. My quirk is mostly tied to my emotions, so I gotta really feel something to control it." "Oh ok cool, so what are you feeling right now then?" All Denki could respond with was a small yet quick blush on his face as he looked down. Seeing this Kiri knew exactly what his answer was, so he grabbed his hand in reaction to how cute it was along with blushing a little himself. It was a sweet and tender moment until they both heard a chime coming from Kiri's phone. Kiri quickly whipped out it out to check what it was, before he bounced up without releasing Denki's hand. "Who was that?" Asked Denki first. "Oh it's just Tetsutetsu, he needs me for something." "Oh, you two have been hanging out a lot lately." "Yeah I guess um I hope you don't mind." "Wha- no of course not." "Ok good, I'll see you later then?" "Yeah sure." After that Kiri gave one last 'ok' and quick kiss on the cheek, leaving a very content and flushed Denki. A few minutes passed after Kiri left before Denki started to walk home. During this time he started to think to himself, Kiri really has been spending a lot of time with Tetsutetsu and Katsuki on other days. It would happen so much that he would even fly off in the middle of their hangouts. It made him wonder if Kiri ever actually had fun with him, but he shook that thought away figuring it couldn't be true. However that never stopped him from pondering it every now and then. Throughout the week this cycle of getting together, having a good time, and Kiri immediately bolting continued to happen again and again. And as much as Denki didn't want to admit it, it really started to bother him. What else could he possibly be doing with them. "Why are they always taking time away from me and my Kiri." He thought to himself once. In that phrase there was also a word he found himself using a lot. "Mine." It rumbled like thunder in his head as related thoughts began to cloud it. He wasn't sure what it was and how he was feeling, but he knew he wanted it to stop. So he confronted Kiri about it one night when they were supposed to have a movie night to themselves. "Pfffffft HAHAHAHAHA I DONT EVEN KNOW WHY THIS IS FUNNY!" "M-ME NEITHER HAHAHAHAHHA OMG!" After that as they began to calm down Kiri got another chime on his phone. "Let me guess Tetsutetsu again?" Denki said sarcastically, with a hint of annoyance. "Uh yeah but are you ok?" Kiri asked "Yeah it's just....you've been seeing Tetsutetsu a lot lately." "Um is there something wrong with that?" "Well no, if you didn't keep blowing me off when we're in the middle of something just to see him." "Oh man Denki I'm sorry I have kinda been blowing you off huh?" "Yeah kinda." Denki said folding his arms and looking away from Kiri. "Hey." Kiri said as cupped Denki's face and turned it towards him. "Would it make you feel better if I didn't see Tetsutetsu tonight." "A little." He said with a pout. "Only a little?~" Kiri asked as he started to tickle the pouty. "Pffffft hehehehe ok ok a lot a lot!" "Is that it?~" "HAHAHAHAHHA ALRIGHT COMPLETELY A WHOLE BUNCH I SWEAR HAHAHAHA!" "Ok I believe you." He said releasing Denki but still keeping him in his arms. Before Denki could say anything though Kiri butted in real quick. "But here's the thing, I actually have to do something else tonight." "What, Kiri you just told me-" "I know I know this is different it's uh family stuff." "Family stuff?" "Yes family stuff I swear. Just for a little, and if it's not too late I'll come right back." "Really?" "Really." "You swear?" "I swear!" "Tck, fine you can go." Denki said reluctantly. "Great! I I'll be back." Kiri exclaimed, as he gave Denki a quick kiss on the cheek and ran out of the door. Denki sat there thinking. He wanted to believe Kiri, he had to believe him, but nothing stopped him from doing what he did next. His mind was too clouded filled with that word. "Mine." He was not about to be outplayed by anyone. So he got up and followed Kiri, staying a good couple feet away so he wouldn't be detected. After a few minuets it tore him up, knowing that his suspicion might be true as they headed a completely different direction from Kiri's place. But he still decided to give him a chance, hoping that maybe it was a relatives house, or something like that. A few more minuets passed, Kiri stopped at an unknown persons house. Denki hid close behind, as he saw Kiri being greeted and quickly entering the house. He couldn't see who the other person was, so he decided to look for a window. He snuck around the house and eventually found one that showed right into the living room. Then the next thing Denki saw made his heart sink right into his stomach. Kiri was sitting on a couch right next to none other than Tetsutetsu. The exact same person Kiri swore he wasn't going to see tonight. Why would he do this, why would he lie to him, and what was so great about Tetsutetsu, that Kiri had to go right behind his back to see him. Why is he stealing away "MY" Kiri. There goes that would again, at this point it was nothing but thunder in the storm that began to swirl in his mind. He was so confused and upset that he didn't even notice the patch of clouds that began to form over the house. They only became bigger and darker as seconds passed, and not long after Denki let out a loud yell of frustration causing a huge lightning strike right next to the house. He then got up and ran towards the park that he and Kiri were at recently only wanting to be alone. The lightning strike was so loud that it also startled Kiri and Tetsutetsu. "Whoa I didn't hear anything about a storm tonight." Said a surprised Tetsutetsu. "That's not just any strom," said Kiri as he quickly grabbed an unknown object from the table and ran out the door as Tetsutetsu followed behind. When they came out the house they were surprised not only to see a clear night sky but a large patch of clouds heading towards the park. "Denki." Kiri said to himself as he began to run in the same direction, as Tetsutetsu once again followed him. "Hey did you just say that was Denki?" Tetsutetsu asked as they were running. "Yeah he must have followed me here." "Why would he do that?" "Well since I've been meeting up with you so much this week, he started to get suspicious. So I had to lie to him tonight about it, but I guess he saw right through me and got upset." "Dude why didn't you just pull the plug when he started getting upset, that's the complete opposite of what we're trying to do here." "I know I know I just wanted to surprise him." "Well I guess you accomplished that in a weird way." "Just help me find him!" Kiri exclaimed as they entered the park. They lost sight of the clouds for a moment, until they spotted them hovering over the same spot Denki first showed off his power to Kiri. Disheartened by the sight Kiri immediately ran over to him. He saw him sitting knees in chest as he yelled out to him. "Denki!" Denki quickly whipped around, but only gave him an angry look as he turned back around to respond. "What do you want?" "Denki, please let me explain." "I don't want to hear it! I know it's just going to be lies!" "Denki please you gotta hear me out!" "Why should-" Denki cut himself off as he saw Tetsutetsu a couple feet behind Kiri. "Oh so you had bring him along, you just had to be with him again!" "What no Denki it's not like that!" Said Kiri as Tetsutetsu interjected too. "Yeah it's totally-" "I don't want to hear it from you!" Denki yelled as he made lightning strike his way. Locally he dodged it in time. "Denki calm down!" Yelled Kiri. "Or you!" He said doing the same thing to Kiri. "What does Tetsutetsu have that I don't! What can he do for you that I can't!" Denki asked as he walked slowly to Kiri with tear filled eyes. "Denki why would you ask that." Said Kiri taken aback by Denki's state. "It doesn't matter." He said turning away. "It DOES matter!" Said Kiri getting up. "NO IT DOESNT!" Denki exclaimed as he made more lightning strike near Kiri. Kiri efficiently dodged them, but then more lightning started to strike all around them as he saw Denki standing there with his head in his hands. Seeing this Kiri made his way over to him not caring if he got struck or not. As soon as he got close he took Denki by the shoulders and quickly turned him around as he shook him a little saying. "Denki just please tell me what's wrong!" Denki was silent for a second until Kiri spoke again. "If you you explain to me then I'll explain to you." He said. Denki then decided to give it up which eventually made the lightning stop. Next he put his head down and muttered the next words. "I'm....jealous." "What, why?" "WHY?! BECAUSE! I'm not like Tetsutetsu or Katsuki. I'm not 'super manly' like you guys or can keep up with you in that way. Plus you clearly seem to want to be with them more." Denki explained as his eyes became more teary. "Denki no that is not the case." Kiri said sweetly as he put a hand on Denki's cheek. "Do you want to know the real reason why I've been seeing Tetsutetsu so much.' Kiri asked as Denki looked up to indicate a yes. "To make you this." Kiri then pulled out a necklace from his pocket, it had a bright yellow gem pendent with small specks of black in it and it was attached to the necklace with a piece of metal that swirled around it on the top. Denki stared at it in awe as he began to speak again. "You made that for me?" He said quietly. "Yeah, Tetsutetsu's been helping me find the perfect pendent for days, and turns out his quirk makes him great at metal work too, so he was helping me put it together for the past two days. I wanted it to be a suprise." Kiri them unchained the necklace put it around Denki's neck and he began to speak again. "Because I like you, and only you. Sure I have a lot of things in common with Tetsutetsu or Katsuki, but they don't make me feel like you do. I feel like I can talk to you, and joke with you, and whenever I need it your always right there to help. You make me happy, and dude you are plenty manly do you not see what you just did here!" "You really mean all that Kiri?" Denki said looking into Kiri's eyes. "I really do." responded Kiri staring back. "Wow. Then I'm so sorry Kiri I've been acting pretty stupid." Denki said shyly. "You're not stupid I'm just sorry for making you feel that way." Kiri responded. "It's ok you didn't mean to, and I'm sorry to you too Tetsutetsu. Ya know for almost frying you." "Oh it's ok it get it. I guess we learned not to let secrecy go too far huh Kirishima?" Said Tetsutetsu patting Kiri's back. Kiri nodded and chuckled in response. "And I guess I should be less jealous." "Well you don't need to be anymore." Kiri said smiling at him as he grabbed Denki's hand. Denki smiled back in response. "So what should we now?" Asked Denki. "Hmm how about we go back over your place and watch another movie." "That's sounds good, and Tetsutetsu can come too." "Oh you sure about that Denki?" Tetsutetsu asked. "Yeah it's totally fine, it's the least I can do for you right now." "Well alright then sounds good." He said as they all started to walk back to Denki's place. This last week may have been a bumpy ride but as Denki and Kiri learn more about each other and their new relationship, it's nothing but clear skies ahead.

2. Their emotional/moral weak spots.

I think I took the longest trying to figure out what this question was even. xDD So, it probably goes without saying that Shiro is HELLA good in the current time line. I personally think that’s because whatever Shiro does remember of his time in captivity, he hates. Shiro’s also noted for being something of a prodigy, hence Lance’s comment in episode one, which basically means that a lot of people expect great things out of him. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that these expectations didn’t happen over night. Meaning that for the majority of his life, he’s been expected to become something great.

I honestly feel as though that’s how Commander Holt passed on the infamous: “If you get too caught up in thinking about what could go wrong, you may miss the opportunity to do something great.” Line. Because as a prodigy you’re expected to meet everyone’s expectations -- so Shiro is loathe to let anyone down. But being gifted in any way he’s well aware of every single way he could go wrong, so that kind of stymies him. If he didn’t hold rank, I don’t believe he’d have ever pushed to pilot the Black Lion. When you’re so aware of what could go wrong, why offer up more opportunity to tempt fate, you know?

But that quote is tattooed on the inside of his eyelids and that’s what pushes him into action. He acts the part of indomitable!Shiro, but honestly, he’s got chinks in his armor and they scare the hell out of him -- he’s especially vulnerable when it comes to people he feels he’s been put in charge of or people he cares for...and it’s no secret that Shiro wears his heart on his sleeve half the time...he just kicks into rational under pressure. That’s what makes him so effective.

Shiro does everything humanly possible not to become flustered in any sense of the word, but when people are acting nonsensical, (notnaminganynames) and they’re in a high-pressure situation, it’s very, very hard for him to tune it out. Especially when he’s under the gun to get them somewhere and they’re worried about the wrinkles in the bed. (itsokaydudeOCD/timetravelishell) He’s usually so even keel with everyone around him that when his bullshit line IS crossed, it’s a bit jarring, but yes, even Shiro has meltdowns. andthey’reamazing. He’s easily flustered by questions from small children, IE where do babies come from? He’ll run screaming from that one for days. Or being very, very, very blatantly hit on because honestly, his mind doesn’t really go there. He’s too concerned about letting people down. So when it occurs to him it’s earth shattering and his mind melts.

Oh boy. People who compare Shiro to Atlas are literally dead on. Shiro cares everyone’s expectations, lives, hopes, safety in addition to the weight of crushing failures from the Kerberos mission.

He hates that his absence has probably doomed the Holts ( ohbbyyoudontevenknow) and he hates himself for everything he’s done emotionally to Keith, Shiro’s so acutely aware of people he cares about -- if they’re hurt and he was there? or it’s related to him? Add another bolder to his back. Somedays he has trouble getting out of bed, truthfully. Some nights he wakes up with a scream choking him, some nights all he sees is nameless blood shed and broken bodies scattered around him. Because he barely remembers being in the ring, but it floats back in his subconscious, like GOD how he keeps functioning is truly a credit to his character. I think though that much like when he was in the Arena, if he had no one to go on for, he might very well give up. If there’s one thing Shiro has it’s this hope that if he’s really screwed things up so horribly, he can make it right on the same level, and that’s what Voltron represents to him. This incredible way to cosmically give him a tabula rassa, even if his conscience will never let him be and and and JFC i could write you a small tomb about Shirogane Takashi. I’m going to make myself stfu now. but a great way to look at it is that scene from supernatural where the psychaitrist is talking to Dean about how he’s gotta stop the apocalypse ( they checked themselves in for a case by straight up telling the truth, i love it. ) and all the people he’s gotta save. ☾ - sleep headcanon

belle sleeps primarily on her side, curled up all cute-like. she normally sleeps with her hand tucked up under her chin and all snuggled in her blankets, sometimes all you can see is the top of her head. and if she’s really tired--she totally drools. just a lil, enough to be cute and not gross. lol

★ - sad headcanon

i feel like there are?? so many?? after her mom died, her dad forgot her birthday every year. for like...twelve years, to the point where even belle forgot it was her birthday after a while.

☆ - happy headcanon

sometimes, on her dad’s good days, when he would go work in his workshop, he would let belle come in too and he would teach her different little mechanical things or show her his inventions in progress and belle always thought they were the most wonderful things.

when belle’s dad left she lowkey destroyed a bunch of his inventions because she was so mad. tbh, belle will definitely throw things when she’s mad enough. it doesn’t happen often but she is not opposed to lobbing a pillow or a book at someone.

gosh what hcs do i not have about belle’s house? i know i’ve mentioned this one a lot but it’s my favorite: belle’s house is covered in clocks. they’re everywhere. and none of them tell the proper time. they’re all wacked out.

belle’s way of showing romance is like surprisingly more physical than i imagined, but she’s not good at words, so she has to show it with her actions. she likes to touch people, just little touches (and this goes for friends too). once she feels comfortable, it is how belle shows affection bc she really doesn’t like touching strangers/being touched otherwise.

♥ - family headcanon

maurice and charisse met in paris while maurice was fixing one of the big fancy clocks in the opera house. charisse was on her way to practice and a spring got loose and hit her and she was so mad about it she started yelling at maurice but cut herself off halfway because she realized he was fixing a clock and goodness isn’t that fascinating--and she missed her rehearsal because she was just drilling him with questions.

in school there were definitely people who wanted to be her friend, most of belle’s loneliness was self-made because she thought people were pitying her or wanting to be her friend to get into her pants/have her help them with school (both of which were often true.) but she was very good friends with a few of her teachers, and of course, mr. livre, the owner of chapter three.

humming. belle hums a lot. she used to sing too, when she lived alone. but she hums when she’s reading sometimes, even, without realizing she’s doing it. or hums while she’s making dinner or in the shower or cleaning (which she rarely does lmao)

secretly loves trashy romance novels, though she’d never admit to it. she’s not really a fan of autobiographies.

belle used to draw on her bedroom window with dry erase markers. she created these beautiful scenes to entertain herself (she’d like stage whole battles and stuff) because she didn’t have any traditional toys--no dolls or leggos or anything like that. all she really had was her imagination.

when belle will be sharp as a whip until the day she dies. she’s that grandma that is still up and moving around at 97 years old, correcting people for their grammar and having philosophical discussions.

♒ - cooking/food headcanon

belle is not the world’s greatest cook. she had to entirely teach herself and while she is excellent at following a recipe, she is almost too good, and never leaves room for interpretation which leaves her food just kind of meh.

☼ - appearance headcanon

belle rarely wears patterns, unless she’s going to an event, and even then she stays away from them--or too-bright of colors. anything that draws the eye. she dresses pretty conservatively too, long to-the-knee skirts at least and blouses buttoned all the way up (she’s a master at safety pinning her shirts so they don’t pop open.)

belle knows allllll the kinds of tools like the difference between a philip’s head and a flat head screwdriver; hammers, different kinds of nails, screws, etc etc. because she helped her dad a lot on his inventions.

☾ - sleep headcanon

as a kid, simba was read to every night without fail and then listened to books on tape to fall asleep, or music if all else fails. he got broken of the habit when away for school, but when he has a bad night the easiest way for him to get back to sleep is to listen to someone read him something.

★ - sad headcanon

every time something significant happens in his life (he gets engaged/married, has a kid/dog, gets a new job, moves)--he’s going to cry because he wants so badly to share those things with his dad and he can’t.

☆ - happy headcanon

simba is lowkey like super excited to go through all of kiara’s big milestones with her. he doesn’t really talk about it but he thinks about her graduations and her getting married (and he really hopes she’ll ask him to walk her down the aisle or some equivalent--”give her away” or w/e).

☠ - angry/violent headcanon

when simba gets angry it is almost 100% of the time because someone put someone in danger or was in danger themselves. most of his like true anger is a defense mechanism against fear.

✿ - Sex headcanon

simba is like the most goofy person during sex like 70% percent of the time. he likes to crack jokes or tickle or just do things to make the other person laugh because he’s super comfortable with his body and stuff but he knows other people aren’t so he’s always tried to be like a super relaxed partner and likes to make sex fuN because it should be FUN

■ - Bedroom/house/living quarters headcanon

when he was a kid, simba was superrrr messy. it got a little better when he was in boarding school bc im sure they had like regular room inspections, but as soon as he hit uni his shit exploded again. buttt when he bought the cabin, he fixed it up himself. there were like leaky ceilings and rotted floorboards and all sorts of stuff, and he spent like a whole year fixing it up and painting it and picking out all the furniture. his house is lowkey his baby and he doesn’t like it being messy bc he wants it to look impressive. it’s definitely like--lived in, but not messy.

♡ - romantic headcanon

simba is not one of those people who withholds his “i love you’s” and he’s not someone who thinks saying it makes it mean less because that’s utterly ridiculous. he grew up with a family that said “i love you” a lot and he thinks it’s very important that the person u love knows that.

♥ - family headcanon

there is a big line for simba between friends and family. and yes, it is possible for people not related to him to cross the divide, but it is very distinct for him. it doesn’t mean he really treats people differently--until it comes to making the decision of keeping someone in his life or not. friends are a lot easier for him to cut out, but it is almost impossible for him to cut out family (you have to be taka, lmao. he is the exception.)

☮ - friendship headcanon

simba is so incredibly loyal to his friends. and he is definitely that person to call when you have to move or when you need a last minute babysitter or you have two tickets to some boring art show and you need someone to go with you. the friend to call if you’re feeling weird while walking home at dusk. he will bend over backwards to keep the people he loves happy and he is more than wiling to lend an ear or helping hand.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

simba keeps a prayer mat in his office/at home/and in his car and he prays three times a day almost without fail (only if he is too depressed/drunk not to). he prays at sunrise (shorook), afternoon (asr), and evening (maghrib). (he mixes it up sometimes, like depending on his schedule he’ll pray at noon or later at night--there are five prayer times.)

simba loves snacks. or food in general. he’s always eating. which makes ramadan so rough for him ahaha. he very much dislikes people who think that they are know-it-alls. they make him feel stupid.

▼ - childhood headcanon

simba’s favorite thing when he was a kid was when everyone would get together and dance. this could be just him and his mom and dad; or him and nala and their other friends; or whole groups of people together. he just lovesss dancing.

simba will be the cutest old man omg. he’ll still love babies so much whenever someone in the family has a baby he’s that grandpa that is just so cute and wants to touch their little heads and give little kisses and give all sorts of life advice to the parents (unsolicited.)

food is a big, important thing to simba because it symbolizes family and bounty. he’s used to just having huge meal celebrations with his family and whenever he eats he hates to do it alone, he’ll go wandering around with his plate until he can find someone to bother while he eats.

simba is a surprisingly snazzy dresser. his mother has an eye for fashion, and tbh so does simba. he loves colors, he rarely wears jeans because he much prefers colored trousers. he has all sorts of fun shoes and shirts and ties and he wears colorful bracelets sometimes too, and occasionally cloth or beaded necklaces from kenya. now he has his dad’s watch that he wears sometimes, though not always.

ൠ - random headcanon

now that things are better, sarabi was finally able to give simba everything that was left to him by his father in the will--including a few quilts his grandmother made, his father’s watch and a few other pieces of jewelry, and, most importantly, his father’s wedding ring (sarabi gave him her wedding band too, though she kept the engagement ring to continue wearing.)
