The Unknown

Is felt or sensed

As Mystery Other

But through the intimate encounter

Becomes the intimately known

Intimacy is tuning in to the spirit that flows through my form— as aliveness

The life that rises from the ground

That is my own body—

And tuning in to the spirit

That dwells within the other

Through touch—

But touch in this sense—

Means felt-awareness of the existence of the other with me in this moment

The true encounter is with spirit

Touch between self and other

The span of time is of no relevance

Because intimacy with spirit

Is the dropping of boundary

Into timelessness

Affirming the encounters

That happen in the in-between space

Of me and you

Where we momentarily overlap

Does not require speaking

But simply a bow of awareness

Sometimes our intimate moments

Emerge from encounters with nature

And sometimes with phantoms

That appear in our psyche

As a glimmer of something

Something we don’t know

We are walking

With the unknown

It is all you

But there are dimensions

Of yourself within you

That yet remain

To be integrated

And can only be known

Through mystery encounters

Of intimacy
