okay I don't normally talk about the leaks the minute they drop but spoilers below the break I am going coocoo for cocoa puffs
Interesting that AFO's vestige reappears when Deku's turned into a little kid. Y'know. As we approach what could be around the time Deku last saw his father. I might be reading too far into this. I might be grasping at straws here I'll admit but it's kinda sus.

Over fifty posts in on this blog, it’s probably well past the time to post something that isn’t a reblog for once lmao.
And so, behold:
A new fic inspired by @teecupangel ! And this post in particular:
The assumption that Desmond is an Auditore Lovechild??? Leonardo and Ezio both pulling a Shouto Todoroki??? Beautiful.
And so, I present the brainchild that came forth.
Summary:
So…this is how it ends, huh. Alone, surrounded only by the ghosts of humanity’s cruel creators. The end of the line—the end of her bloodline—and everything has come crashing down. To release Juno, who seeks to enslave humanity once more, or to condemn billions of innocents to a cruel, unjust death.
There’s really no choice, isn’t there?
Have a nice timezone
(:!

So I’ve recently seen some talk/gotten some asks about the ‘Rosebird parents’/’Raven is Ruby’s dad’ theory regarding the actual... ‘mechanics’ of how Summer and Raven could have conceived Ruby.
Now while there are some simple answers to this question such as some form of advanced medical procedure or Raven simply turning out to be intersex, I think there is one particularly ‘weird’ option that is both much more interesting and actually fits the story and tone of RWBY quite a bit better.
That being, Summer and Raven used some form of magic to conceive Ruby.
When we consider how extremely common the whole ‘Mystical Pregnancy’ trope is across fairy-tales, folklore and mythology, I’d say it only makes sense that a show so fixated on exploring these classical tropes like RWBY do their own spin on it at some point. Plus, given that it’s very often the big, important, heroic, protagonisty types that are born to these weird magical conceptions, I think it would be all too fitting for RWBY’s main heroine to have been born in such a way as well. On top of that, we already know that Summer and Raven both have strong connections to the weird, mystical elements of RWBY via Silver Eyes and magic, plus whatever else they may have been in contact with while working for Ozpin.
Additionally, there is a related trope to the ‘Mystical Pregnancy’ that I think makes the dynamics of Team STRQ in relation to Ruby and Yang quite fitting. In folklore and mythology, we often see heroes and gods have weird cases of multiple fathers and/or mothers via weird magical shenanigans, and that’s only if our sources bother to even try explaining (looking at you, Heimdall). So if we imagine that Summer and Raven conceived Ruby, then both her and Yang can basically be said to have two mother and two fathers:
Summer is mother by blood to Ruby and a surrogate mother to Yang. Tai is father by blood to Yang and a surrogate father to Ruby. Qrow is an uncle by blood and a surrogate father to both girls. And Raven is mother/’father’ to both girls by blood but has never done anything to raise them.
I don’t know about you, but that setup is exactly the kind of wacky, headscratching family situation I’d expect from the heroine(s) of a folktale.

I just want you to know that I so deeply cherish all your untamed and murderbot (and raksura) thoughts that I started reading ORV just so I can get MORE of your fandom thoughts. I wanna be able to understand your new posts!!
this is so sweet 😭 thank you i'm flattered!! there are some really fabulous posts in this fandom, so i'm excited for you to experience them! my own posts are fairly shallow because i haven't done a reread and the story is so long i already can't remember most of it haha, but the fandom seems pretty active on here so it's gonna be a while before i run out of other people's fanart and meta to reblog. standard disclaimer that you read orv at your own risk and i will not be held responsible for any feelings you may or may not experience in the course thereof. godspeed <3

okay here's my bev/picard lovechild theory.
sometime around season one, they do the deed (😏) and bev falls pregnant. she decides she can't carry the baby to term for Wesley's sake, for her career and tbh for jean-luc. she also can't terminate because this might be her only chance to have a kid with the love of her life. so she beams the embryo into cold storage and keeps it a secret. this also leads to her year away from enterprise d, she needs time away. get her shit together.
fast forward to the missing twenty years. she's captain of the eleos, living her best life practicing frontier medicine out from under the constraints of starfleet. but the ship gets badly damaged, critical functions failing and she realises she's going to lose her precious embryo. so in an act of desperation she beams it "on board" to keep it safe. the embryo takes. she's pregnant. she decides to carry it, but the embarassment of what she's done leads her to cut off contact with everyone. how could she ever explain this??

It's spooky month- which means it's time for halloween Chuuya and Poe friendship headcanons! :D
(link to the other headcanon posts)
It is HALLOWEEN TIME; Chuuya and Poe are preparing for the season by carving pumpkins with Karl's face on them and also their favorite halloween movie characters. Chuuya is helping build up Poe's confidence to give a ~spooky mystery novel~ he wrote for Ranpo to solve (poe succeeds in giving the novel to ranpo)
While waiting for Poe to give his novel to Ranpo, Chuuya gets Karl a little ghost blanket to put over him, he then proceeds to scare Dazai with Ghost Karl. Chuuya laughs while Dazai takes time to recover from the raccoon jumpscare
They end up finding two pumpkins together and name them "Jack" and "Lantern", Chuuya is very disappointed when no other Port Mafia member likes Lantern.
They decide it'd be the funniest shit to dress up as each other for Halloween. Poe even buys boots for Chuuya to wear so he seems taller, and Poe just hunches over as he always does. - Some find it funny, others are confused, and some just sigh in 'we should've expected this'
Chuuya and Poe go on a rewatch marathon of all the previous halloween movies they've watched - they definitely pull an all-nighter but it's totally worth it
At some point during said rewatch marathon, Chuuya wraps himself in a blanket and just lies on the ground in a blanket burrito. Poe takes a picture and bursts out laughing, Chuuya proceeds to fight Poe for the phone so he doesn't send the photo to anyone, to which he doesn't but Poe still has the photo saved to Chuuya's dismay. Secretly though, it's a fond memory Chuuya has
While getting bored during one of their rewatches, they decide to expand on the 'Q is a lovechild between Mori and Fukuzawa'. They share the updates with Ranpo who is now also invested with this theory
Poe decides to buy some candy instead of popcorn for the rewatch marathon, this is probably what causes them to have a sugar crash right after they finished rewatching multiple movies on a very long sugar rush. Regret sets in when they both throw up multiple times in the middle of the night after, but it was a fun marathon! (Karl eats the leftover candy they didn't eat)
After recovering from the rewatch marathon, the two go on their different ways and return back to normal. Chuuya has a stash of photos with Karl in halloween costumes though, and some photos of the fun he and Poe had during the rewatch marathon. No one's allowed to touch the stash of spooky memories Chuuya has with Poe and Karl
As a treat (and also to forget the... mishaps with the rewatch marathon), Chuuya and Poe attempt to watch a fluffy romance movie. They both end up crying. It was a good movie
(they recovered with the power of Karl giving them nuzzles)

My top seven favorite Korkie theories that aren't "obitine lovechild" (because I like to come up with outlandish headcanons to subvert commonly accepted fanon)*
Korkie is just Satine's nephew. This sounds boring on its own but the fun part is that he is convinced he's an obitine lovechild.
Korkie is Obi-Wan's nephew (shoutout to @kazoosandfannypacks for this one; more on it here)
Korkie is Obi-Wan and Satine's nephew (more on that one here)
He's Satine's son but Obi-Wan isn't his dad, however Obi-Wan helped take care of him as a newborn during the year on the run and family is more than blood, so... Obi-Wan kind of is his dad.
Korkie is a random orphan that Satine decided to adopt, but immediately after saying the adoption vows she realized his unfortunate resemblance to Obi-Wan and introduced him to the world as her nephew.
(if you squint your eyes and hc Bo-Katan in her early 30s in TCW) Korkie is Bo-Katan's son.
Korkie is a clone of Obi-Wan.
*let it be stated for the record that I have no beef with Korkie Kenobi. I just think there's funnier options that we're totally missing out on.

What was it like when the ship kids found out their abilities? Like what was the fall out and reactions that followed?
Ah, this is something I want to draw in the future, in the meantime I'll answer it! <3 SSKK Lovechild: Yasushi's ability appeared before his first birthday. One day, Atsushi and Ryuunosuke found a tiger cub sleeping in their son's crib. Atsushi was a bit worried (because he didn't have such a good time with his ability in the beginning) and he didn't want Yasushi to inherit his ability. Ryuunosuke would have liked him to have a little Rashomon (which would happen later with the twins), but he accepted it quite well. Just like he calls Atsushi "Jinko", he calls Yasushi "Cub" as an affectionate nickname.
Because his ability appeared so early, Yasushi has a good balance with his tiger side. But it also meant that his parents had to watch out for him as a child, lest he try to climb too high or scratch and bite people.
The appearance of the twins' ability was much simpler, as it manifested itself to help them reach things or prevent them from stumbling. Ryuunosuke and Rashomon were quite pleased with the "little Rashomons". The strength of the Little Rashomons is more than Ryuunosuke's.
As a bonus, all children inherited Atsushi's healing ability, and the girls have heightened senses and can grow small fangs, though not to the same potential as Atsushi or Yasushi. Ranpoe Lovechild: Lenore's is related to something that happened in one of the comics. The Raven came out of nowhere one night and shouted "Nevermore" and trapped Edgar and Ranpo in the ability. Ranpo immediately guessed what it was about and how to get out, but they couldn't catch the Raven for a few hours and couldn't get out of the ability. Lenore didn't help them much either, as she slept through the night, only waking up when her parents managed to catch the raven and show it to her. The only thing she said when she saw it was "it's cute" and went back to sleep. In theory, her ability is always active since the raven follows her everywhere and it is only enough for the raven to shout "Nevermore" for the ability to work <3
SKK Lovechild: Kazuya's ability appeared one afternoon while he was playing with his hundreds of stuffed sheep. I won't go into too much detail, as I'll do that more in the character sheets, but their "appearance" scared him and he ran towards Chuuya. Chuuya was also startled when he saw the manifestation of his ability, and the noise caught Dazai's attention, who apparently undid everything with just a touch. Dazai was the calmest while Kazuya cried because his ability was "ugly" and tried to reassure him that abilities are arbitrary and they can't really choose them, nor do they all have a relation to the abilities of their parents.
Kazuya took the longest time to accept his ability, as it can be considered "deadly", the opposite of his personality and the meaning of his name.
Fyolai Lovechild: Lyubov's reaction is very similar to Kazuya's. Her ability is quite "scary", so it scared her when it first appeared. Nikolai was affected by her ability when it appeared, and Lyubov really hated it when she realized that it hurt his father, but Nikolai calmed her down and told her that it was "good" that her ability was like that (more details in the character sheets I hope to have soon!), because that way she would be "protected" if he wasn't around one day. Anyway, she doesn't like her ability, although she learned how to handle it. Kunibram Lovechild: In the case of the lovechild Kunibram (I haven't decided on a name yet, or if it will be a boy or a girl), the child simply copied what Kunikida was doing in his notebook, and it was activated. Bram was quite happy that his ability was similar to Kunikida's, as he was afraid that his child would meet the same fate as him if the child inherited his ability. Seugiku Lovechild: As soon as the child's ability appeared, they started training him (I think his ability will be similar to Jouno's, but I still have to work out the details). The boy was also scared when it manifested, but he quickly began to learn how to perfect it.
Among the Lovechild, he, Yasushi, Kazuya and Lyubov are the most prepared to use his ability in battle, although only he and Lyubov use it more for that, since their lives have not been as "quiet" as the others.

So... I may or may have not made a Dazatsu lovechild a while ago 💦 Decided to show her to the world after seeing some discourse on the neighboring site today 😅
I took inspiration from Yūko Tsushima, Osamu Dazai's daughter and novelist! Her ability is Child of Fortune.
A lot about her is still a WIP, but please check under the read more cut if you're interested in knowing more about her (and also see me exposing myself with the delirious idea that brought her into being)!
Feat. married Dazatsu, which is always good; but this post is looong.
So, how did this happen?
I'm very weak and give lovechildren to my ships often. I was thinking about how cute would be a child of theirs and conveniently found out about Dazai's daughter, who also was a novelist and everything simply fell into place effortlessly.
The actual backstory
Yūko is a byproduct of the Book. The text written into it desired a strong ability that could be easily manipulated to come into being. However, since the Book follows a certain logic, such ability manifested as a singularity; key traits of two abilities it considered powerful if combined merged and came into being as an infant's.
Still following the Book's logic, this weak, vulnerable being appeared in the vicinity of the ones who would protect it from harm.
And now the "serious" part is out of the way, imagine Dazai randomly getting up in the middle of the night for a glass of water and finding a sleeping cat that had broken into their home.
...Except when he touches it to put it back outside, it turns into a child.
This is a case of "instructions too vague, gave a random couple a child" lmao
What happens from there
What else would Dazai do if not wake Atsushi up, who at first doesn't understand why all that fuss just because of a cat that broke in until he sees it for himself. Both are extremely confused.
Then what else would they do if not resort to Kyouka next door because they're at a loss and need a female's feedback here. She's immediately smitten but Atsushi keeps reminding her they can't just keep her like a lost kitten, they need to find her parents.
This results in them deciding to take her to the Agency, they're detectives after all. The three of them walk in, Dazai with the girl in his arms (to prevent her from activating her ability and running off), Atsushi carrying a bag with the improvised provisions they had arranged, and Kyouka with the straightest face ever.
Everyone looks at them in confusion. Ranpo instantly knows what's up. Atsushi says he would love to say they can explain but he honestly has no idea whatsoever.
They tell the others what happened and since Ranpo likes to make things more amusing, he remarks on how similar she looks to both Dazai and Atsushi in appearance, and that her ability also resembles Atsushi's weretiger features. Dazai instantly picks up on the hints.
Kunikida is hellbent on finding the girl's parents before anything else, but Dazai suggests running a DNA test to test a theory of his. Kunikida resists a little because there's just no way you're implying what you're implying, but Dazai insists for the sake of ruling out possibilities.
It's a perfect match with both him and Atsushi.
The next steps
Apparently, they're her parents now. She needs registration documents and whatnot; Ango takes care of the bureaucracies and necessary paperwork to make this happen more smoothly because this is by no means your everyday occurrence, she must be properly recorded in the Special Division's files.
Since Dazai and Atsushi are married, this means they're also both her legal guardians. For safety's sake, her surname is registered as Tsushima (津島) instead of Nakajima (中島) to make her a little harder to track because there's definitely something up with that (or so Dazai thinks, which he tells Ango).
To help cover her identity better, she's also accepted into the Agency as an employee (she went through an entrance exam and all) of sorts, so Fukuzawa's ability takes effect on her. The ID card on her lanyard is her official detective ID.
Currently, she's learning how to read and write and undergoing training to better control her ability.
Ability
Yūko's ability was dubbed Child of Fortune (寵児, Chōji); it's still under observation to determine the full potential of her skills. So far, it's known that much like Atsushi, she's able of transforming fully into a tiger (except it's a tiger cub) or partially, into a weretiger. She supposedly has restoration skills, but they're still not fully developed.
Exceptionally strong claws.
She also has a powerful bite, observed to neutralize the effect of other abilities with the only exception being No Longer Human. The bite leaves a mark that renders the affected person unable of using their ability for a set time.
Some trivia
Since Yūko can't heal herself properly yet, her injuries are kept bandaged. Usually seen on the wrists or ankles. I left this detail to match Dazai's bandages, as a visual representation of the young age the irl author lost her father to suicide.
The reason why her left hand is bandaged in the second drawing though, is because she punched a classmate who was bullying her; she didn't mind the offenses until it sounded like they were badmouthing Atsushi and GOD FORBID she hears anyone say anything bad about any of her dads.
It's fine btw, they're best friends now. Dazai actually talked to the kid and they apologized after that; Yūko only apologized because Atsushi told her to.
I need you to imagine them being called to the school because Yūko got into a fight and Atsushi becoming disconcerted after learning the reason behind it from their daughter while Dazai tried very hard not to laugh because it would upset Atsushi but he was a little too proud of Yūko (defend your cinnamon roll dad!)
She's very easy to deal with, a very calm and obedient child despite having a strong, assertive personality. When she's not in school, she's hanging out in the Agency; she stays in the lounge area of the office and spends her time drawing or trying to write words. Both Atsushi and Dazai take turns checking on her.
Like any child, Yūko has a lot of energy and may tire out her parents, especially if she decides to activate her ability; she outsped Atsushi once and since then they're both surprised and terrified. She always falls for Dazai's trap of calling her by saying "pspsps" with a smile though and fails to understand why she turns back to normal every time.
Her training isn't just to teach her how to control her ability better, but also to teach her how to use it responsibly. Sometimes it looks a lot like gym classes tbh.
Yes, tiger Atsushi does carry tiger cub Yūko around in his mouth and gives her baths.
Yes, Dazai does whine there's yet another cat in his immediate family circle that he can't pet.
And if you read until here, I wish you a wonderful day, please know that I love you and am sending good things vibes your way 🫶

5+ headcannons on an a Raadsc au where before getting isekaied Izuku was exposed to the theory that Izuku midoriya (the character) was all mights secret love child (and maybe that was part of the reason Bakugou wasn't given all for one) and somehow fully believed it. I don't remember if he only consumed fandom knowledge or read a variation of MHA, but in this au maybe he probably only knew fandom stuff.
1 - Izuku says that he has clear proof from canon that All Might is Midoriya Izuku's secret lovechild but his narration makes it clear that he is reaching for straws because he wants to be All Might's secret lovechild and you know what? He has just been isekaied as a doomed side character. He deserves this.
2 - After being rescued from the Sludge Villain, a slightly oxygen-deprived-Izuku informs All Might that he is his secret lovechild and that he needs his help to survive. All Might nods, understanding that this poor boy hit his head really hard, but sticks around long enough to actually see that the boy is in danger. It's like the entire world is out to get him.
3 - The Symbol of Peace himself has trouble keeping this one boy alive. He is so desperate that he doesn't even blink when he carries Young Midoriya home and sees his mom escorting him to a vault. He doesn't have children but if they are in so much danger, he understands the appeal of vaults!
4 - AFO comes back not even sooner in this AU because Inko informed him that he has been away from home so long that their son adopted All Might as his new father.
5 - Izuku is still convinced that All Might is his dad and thinks he is facing a Clark Kent and Superboy situation (he isn't aware that Connor is a clone because once again, he is fuzzy on the canon details of something) so he doesn't call him dad or anything but he is still convinced that he is his dad. Tells as much to Shouto. Meanwhile, All Might is googling if one can adopt a child who still has both parents.

Found your Raven is Ruby’s Dad stuff and it’s very compelling but also. Magical Lesbian Love Child is a very fairytale-sounding thing. There’s so many magic babies in fairytales I wouldn’t be surprised if it was real. Also like. This is so much of a step up from the Qrow is Ruby’s Dad theory, I say this as a STR-Crossed shipper, it makes so much more sense then Tai getting cheated on or Qrow, a character known for priding himself on not leaving his family, dumping his supposed daughter on someone else.
Thanks!
And YES, I am totally in agreement on Ruby being a take on the 'magical fairytale baby' trope. It's such a classic trope in fairytales and mythology it only makes sense for RWBY to do their take on it. And the heroine of the story having been magically conceived by two women feels very in-keeping with RWBY's use of fairytale tropes.

earthspark concept: it's not that farfetched that if one were out of the loop, like really really out of the loop/late to the party, they could mistake twitch for a megatron/optimus lovechild. she's red-ish and her alt mode is basically megatron's shrunk down. Only question is where the yellow came from but recessive genes are a thing, and when you're looking at things through "illegitimate lovechild" goggles.. it's easy to disregard context clues
You're not necessarily wrong, especially if we're going on the more varied end of the "how much do sparklings look like their parents" scale
But also
Who would be vehemently and passionately advocating for this theory
Are they human
Are they Cybertronian
Is it a mix
Is there a megop fanclub who's split because of this conspiracy theory
