*phew*, apologies for the wait on introducing these bois buuut, here’s the High Councilman and his son yall have been waiting for~ (special thanks to my gf, best bud Moon, and my other Discord mutuals for helping to inspire me on these bois 💙)

High Councilman Xandre Litayla (age 54) is King Grayle’s most trusted royal council member, having been entrusted in his wisdom to the royal family for over 20+ years. Since the time he was young, Xandre always had hopes of furthering the bonds between humans and Elves... the latter of whom were often nudged out into hiding away from the public eye due to common distrust over their higher magic levels (some not even requiring a mana stone to channel their auras, unlike human mages). This was a dream of Xandre’s that even inspired his baby sister Ceraeza to do something similar in her own researching interests... even while their fellow Elven peers thought of such pursuits as “fool-heartedly”. Humans for centuries never gave them much of a chance... how would a simple pair of Celestial mage siblings fix all that?

...Well, Xandre was at last given that chance when he became old enough to travel around on his own, gathering all he could about the human cultures of Terra and even forging a strong friendship with the then-traveling Auran Reylas... whom could also relate with Xandre’s desire to forge peace in the world of constant magical conflicts. Years would pass by, and soon the two’s persistence in their goals lead them to great positions in higher power (or in Auran’s case, a role as the headmaster of St. Ravilda’s Mage Academy)... Xandre in particular catching the attention of King Grayle, who was already facing enough scrutiny in being a cold, seemingly “heartless” royal in the public eye. He saw that Xandre’s patience and understanding could be a great asset to balancing out his ruling duties... allowing for the first time that Graystone had an Elf in position of royal council power.

Living in such luxuries did little to erase Xandre’s humble attitude in wanting to guide others above his own needs... but he did wish to make sure his only son, Dantae, would be allowed a comfortable and peaceful environment to grow up in (following a tense divorce between Xandre and Dantae’s mother), now that both of them were residing in the Graystone capital. The people there were still new to fully getting used to Elves living among them... but within time, even father and son ultimately became respected enough by the public eye thanks to their continued charitable work to others (and Dantae himself even gaining a bit more popularity by taking up modeling once he grew up).

...Still, for all the good things he had going for him at this point in time... there still remained a sense of wariness upon learning the rumors regarding certain “secrets” of the roral court. As much as he wishes to not give into his feelings of suspicion to others... he can’t help but wonder if there perhaps could’ve been some conspiring parties among the “posh” crowds he’s grown so accustomed to. Especially given the circumstances of Sir Luka’s ambush so many years ago, one can never be too sure in this growing magical age... and so, on the free times they can meet up, both him and his sister Ceraeza are prepared to team up to discover the hidden truths for themselves.

Dantae Litayla (age 20) is among the new faces of New Grayle’s modeling business, being among the first Elven models to have caught much of the public eye as of now. Praised and fawned after by both men and women alike, one would think this would give Dantae all the more ammo to develop a haughty ego. But alas... underneath his “bewitching” charm, lies an honestly kind and wise young man... assured in himself of his powers and looks, yet matured enough thanks to his father’s influence to help guide others to better themselves than they’re given credit for.

Naturally, these type of attributes made him fairly popular among his peers over at the St. Ethestia Mage Academy for Elves... becoming a sort of role model to even those who didn’t get as much support in return. One of these examples just so happened to be the young Dark mage known as Prym Fletcher... who was among the first human students who truly fell more for Dantae’s kind heart than just his looks (leading to an innocent lil puppy crush to form at the time). While it didn’t ultimately lead to anywhere too serious as both kids were from well far schools from one another... they still continued to at least try to keep contact long distance-wise to keep up a friendship.

Nowadays, with Dantae grown and out on his own... he decided to follow his father’s example in trying to give better rep for Elves by becoming a model. Working exclusively for the Shelrovet Jewelry and Fashion line, Dantae’s became quite close associates with both Kurtana and Embyr who had currently stationed there as well. Quite a few public headlines try to tease a potential “match make” for Dantae to date one of the girls... but truth be told, Dantae’s never been quite interested in that. One, he and Embyr are more like brother & sister to eachother. Two... well, even for working together even he hasn’t been all that fond of Kurtana. And three, though no one’s quite sure for certain... some have been whispering that he might either be hiding a potential girlfriend from the public eye, or perhaps is simply too content with being a carefree bachelor in such a wide bustling city. Either way, things are going pretty well for Mr. Dantae... and he has all his father to thank in instilling the proper values to make well for himself like he always hoped for.

RIBA confirms 2021 and 2022 UK Awards programme plans

Friday 27th of November 2020 – The RIBA has today announced that the next call for UK awards entries will be next year – for the 2022 RIBA Awards.

The 2021 RIBA UK Awards (including Regional, National and the RIBA Stirling Prize) will be selected from the shortlist for the 2020 RIBA Regional, RIAS, and RSAW Awards.

The RIBA will continue to build on its rigorous eligibility and judging criteria, and, from the 2022 RIBA Awards, will require all project entries to have been in use for one year. This change will enable judges to assess projects with even more detail on their performance, more extensive client feedback, and a better understanding of how the project functions within its civic, communal and environmental context. It will also add greater focus to the sustainability criteria – further aligning them with the standards set out in the RIBA 2030 Climate Challenge.

RIBA President Alan Jones said: “I am pleased that the 2021 RIBA UK Awards will focus on judging and celebrating the exceptional projects that we were unable to visit this year. Not only is this the fairest outcome – reached after detailed consultation with entrants and jurors – but it provides an unexpected opportunity for us to bring forward plans to significantly refresh our judging criteria – with projects having to be in use for one year. The RIBA and our members are committed to the best, sustainable design that will serve generations to come, and I am pleased that from 2022 we will be able to further demonstrate this through our awards programme.”

RIBA president Jane Duncan said,

“The lack of high-quality new housing is a huge issue in the UK so I am particularly pleased to see great examples of well-designed, sustainable new homes amongst our award winners,” she added.

“We all deserve a well-designed, affordable home, wherever we live in the country. I encourage other local authorities, developers and clients to look at these projects as exemplars.”

She praised the inclusion of a number of high-quality schools – including The Laboratory at Dulwich College and new music facilities at Wells Cathedral School – but said it was disappointing to see no new state school buildings included in this year’s awards.

“Well-designed schools support improved student achievement, and staff and student wellbeing and should be part of educational aspirations for all our schools, not just those in the fee-paying sector,” she said.

Likelihoods of characters/plot points being addressed and/or resolved by the end of the finale:

As we approach an ever more ridiculous finale of a show that has been in freefall for years, there’s been something I keep coming back to: are we really never going to have a resolution to that? With so many plot points and storylines carelessly thrown aside throughout the years, I’ve tried to rank the likelihoods that they will ever see the light of day on our humble screens. This is partially a finale prediction post, but on a larger level, it’s just really diving into the amount that has been abandoned by a series that used to be so invested in the consequences of forgotten things.

GIVEN: I give no prediction to how these characters will have their arcs resolved or how satisfying those resolutions will be, but we all know they’re going to be there. - Dany, the Starks, Tyrion (also, the gang addressing Jamie & Cersei dying)

MOST EXPECTED TO BE ADDRESSED/RESOLVED: Plotlines that feel at least too present to not be resolved. I really can’t see these characters not having at least some part in the finale. - Grey Worm and the Unsullied (but not the remaining Dothraki) - Brienne (and thus, Podrick) - Bronn the Funny Sellsword - Yara & the Iron Islands, but with max 3 minutes of screentime - Sam and Gilly (best case: riding off into the sunset, worst case: standing in the background smiling at Jon) - Davos (although, in any way related to the Stannis/R’hllor storylines? Unlikely.) - Ghost. If not we riot.

LESS LIKELY THAN WOULD BE EXPECTED: These tend to be things that are conceptually important or which have been built up which I would expect good writers to return to, but I don’t trust to actually be handled. But! These are also the things I feel most prepared to be surprised by. - The purpose and implications of Jon’s resurrection (again, at least in any direct, meaningful way) - Arya x Gendry. Sorry folks. - Gendry and Storms End (only inasmuch as him leaving for Storms End. Even that feels less and less plausible) - Anything with the Freefolk - The Lord of Light (who ostensibly saved the entire world but who no one seems interested in believing because fuck religion am I right ladies?)

LOW LIKELIHOOD (but nonzero): This is where I start considering ‘plot hole’ areas, or areas that feel like have been abandoned by the characters and writers which should be touched on, but obviously won’t. I’ve put in here also big emotional centers for characters that have apparently been moved on from in ways that either don’t make sense or have never happened - Someone mentioning anything about Slavers Bay, how it’s doing, literally anything - Night King & WW motivations/ history (I’m holding on hope as much as anyone else, but even if it does get addressed, I doubt it will end with any resolution) - The Iron Bank and Lannister debt (despite the insistence that it’ll be a Thing, pretty much since season 1) (although a scene of Sansa interacting with them would be so fun) - Any mention of Stannis Baratheon, the One True King - Casterly Rock, which is ostensibly still chilling? Maybe Tyrion is allowed to live out as Warden of the Westerlands in the ultimate “fuck you Tywin” but is it likely? No. Would it be satisfying? Maybe. - The extinction of House Tyrell (probably will be mentioned in whatever Bronn thing, not really in any sort of way deeper than that though) - The Dothraki Extinction Event of (est.) 305 AC - The phrase “The War of the Five Kings” - Robb and/or Catelyn Stark - Nymeria (I’m less optimistic than others tbqh) - The Faceless Men (specifically regarding Arya’s desertion, which they ostensibly would want to kill her over) - “The Wheel” of I guess feudalism? that Dany talked about breaking for a few seasons

NO CHANCE: Ahh. The frayed edges of a series messily composed by people clearly not invested in their own material. These things will blow in the wind, never returned to, never explained, never mattering. - Daario Naharis, Regent of the Bay of Dragons^TM - The blow-up-ing of the Sept of Baelor, which continues to not be a big deal to anyone in or out of Kings Landing, noble or otherwise - Rickon Stark, or any dead direwolf - “The New Prince of Dorne,” or anything even tangential to Dorne - The Riverlands, or, Where In The World Is Edmure Tully? - Specifically, the entire extinction of the Freys, one of the largest and well known houses of Westeros, something that would cause absolute chaos in the central region in the Kingdom and should have caused issues with our valiant heros at literally any point since happening, will continue to never be addressed literally ever - Why the Knights of the Vale are still involved and have stayed involved, or what any of their leadership has been saying about these wars (literally anything except a passing shield with the Arryn sigil) - Subpoint: Robin Arryn, and any payoff about his connection to Littlefinger - All of the Red Priests vouching for and supporting Dany in Essos - Mellisandre’s Youth Magic will continue to never have had any relevance (except the fun shock of old titties) - Graystone, The Citadel, any of that - Meera Reed (I’m bitter)

In conclusion, many of these points I do not expect to see because they are points I have been wanting addressed for years now, and with one episode left, I think it’s hard to continue with that mindset. By years of sloppy writing, there’s been so much left behind that maybe better off not having to be butchered on screen. Of course, part of making this list is still the hope of being wrong, and that maybe some of these will surprise me and end up actually mattering. But with the tone, pacing, and level of attention that we’ve seen in the last 5 episodes coupled with the overall parrying down of quality over the last 3-4 seasons, my expectations are low.

Last note: I tried not to include characters and plots that feel like they’ve been as satisfyingly ended as possible (BwoB) even if done poorly (Sand Snakes), or which are satisfying enough without a specific resolution because it’s inconsequential enough (the last episode we saw Hot Pie in was satisfying enough, there’s nothing much else that can be done or said)

“Eh, hey boss we got a request from King Wrynn for another round of guns n blades! Armor to!” A green haired male gnome chimed from the door of the captain’s room.

“WELL! Don’t keep the King waiting darling! Send him a reply we’ll have it churned out by the end of the week~!” An accented, loud and sultry male voice called excitedly. The door burst open, revealing a tall, slender and young looking man. A shadow of a beard hung on his face, his black hair done beautifully in the latest fashion and it was covered by a luxorious, navy blue top hat. He was very tan, a white dress shirt of the finest make, wonderfully matching slacks, vest and coat to boot! His bright green eyes taking in the sea behind the gnome, their vessel bearing Alliance flags as well as Graystone Industries!

“Mistah’ Graystone...” A female worgen sauntered her way up, drawing the mans gaze to her. He had a diamond shaped tattoo just below his right eye. “Yesss darling what is it?” The woman blinked a few times before replying a bit concerned in nature. “We’re about to make port Mistah’ Graystone! Just lettin’ ya know!” At that, the thin man swayed his way, hands up at his cheeks with excitement. “OH HOW EXCITING! Look at that...Good Light that’s dreary as all hells. We’re going to have to spice it up a little!” He squealed excitedly as pulled out a pocket watch from his vest, it had a mirror and he winked at himself. A finger pointed at his reflection before the same green haired gnome called up to him. “Mister Graystone, you’re guns.” The gnome held up the belt for the strange man, who promptly scooped it up. “Oh thanks darling~” He tucked the pocket watch away, clicked his belt into place.

“Oh we have quite the adventure ahead of us all!”

God wants us to find the place he needs us to be in and to love it.

Over the years I have taken part in various training programmes or attended lectures put on by many different churches and organisations including the Diocese of Southwark. During the pandemic I have taken part in several very enjoyable online events. No rushing about to get myself a ridiculously early meal before dashing out, no map reading or getting lost, no uncomfortable seats in draughty old halls and, best of all, no waiting for trains on London stations late at night!! Instead, I can sit in my favourite chair in comfort and warmth, snacking if I choose to yet still enjoying listening and watching fascinating and clever people talking about a variety of thought-provoking subjects.

One such occasion was in early November 2021 - the Croydon Area Lay Conference. Usually held at St. Bede’s School it is always a full day event with worship, interesting and often eminent speakers, a vast choice of workshops led by well-known people and a chance to meet friends from other churches as well as new folk during the workshops, breaks and (sometimes cooked) lunch. However, thanks to Covid, this year it was online and I enjoyed it just as much.

There was a lot to take from the day, so this tiny “snapshot” is only part of what remained with me from the day, words that had touched my soul many years ago and set me on a path to find out more about the God I love and who carved out the path I trod to make me who I am today and it affirmed beliefs I hold dear about being a Christian in today’s world.

Entitled “Inside Out” the aim of the conference was to be unafraid of having an “upside down ministry” i.e. for us to go where God wants to be, being aware of our own limitations but still ministering out of them. God wants us to find the place he needs us to be in and to love it, to live for it! It may not be the place we want to be in or think we can help in, but if it is where God wants us to be we must stay there and He will equip us. It may not be a very visible or conventional role as it’s more likely to be in a demanding situation or with people we are unused to being around (or as they put it – the losers, the weirdos and the misfits), where we become “invisible” and God can work through us without us getting in the way. God will “have our backs” (again, their words). We were encouraged to be unafraid of seeking silence, “busyness is overrated, availability to God isn’t” (quote). It is then we can become aware of God’s nudges.

In the morning the author Andrew Graystone gave his spellbinding address. Believing that we need to “travel light” and that our “luggage separates us” from people whilst our “qualifications can put people off” he told us about one of his own experiences. He woke up one morning in 2019 to the horrific news about the deaths of 51 Muslims and injury to 49 others in 2 mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand at the hands of a gunman. Feeling the need to do something he eventually settled on simply standing outside his local Mosque (he is a Christian) holding aloft a placard saying “You are my friends. I will keep watch while you pray”. The story is simple. Many worshippers saw him and pretty much ignored him as they hurried by on their way in to pray, but most want to speak to him or shake his hand on the way out. Apparently the Imam had seen him on the way in and talked about his simple act of unity in his sermon. One person took a photograph of him standing outside with his placard and within a few days it had gone viral. He was, as he put it, “an ordinary-looking bloke, wearing a flat cap and a jumper, doing something a bit transgressive”. A great example of “Inside Out Faith”.

There were numerous workshops but the two I opted for were “Mending Circle”. This was a gentle time of (literally) mending something whilst listening to and contributing to a gentle discussion “an antidote to a time of chaos”, a time to enjoy slowing down, doing just one thing. For the men who don’t want to sew there is the “Men in Sheds” movement. The second workshop was called “Everyday Faith” or “The mouth speaks what the heart is full of”. This was around our roles away from church – what we do, what we love about it, the challenges and opportunities it brings. What we need for it and how we can be prayed for in this role as God is interested in the everyday too. Something, maybe, that can be highlighted in churches by interviewing members of the congregation, writing about their various roles and interests for the parish magazine for example, or placing these “outside” situations and roles on the intercession list etc.

Before giving us all his blessing, Bishop Jonathan’s final address spoke candidly about how churches should be praying for and empowering people to “go out” and minister in the world. As Lay people can be where the Clergy cannot be he said that they shouldn’t be using all their energy just on the insides of churches.

Bekah Martinez Details Being Sexually Assaulted in Front of Her Kids
