So… I have a lot to say about this post I saw on my feed today. I took screenshots and blocked out the username for the sake of the OP. I didn’t want this to be a callout post for one specific user, and do not wish them any hate or harm. I DO have a whole heap to say about this and the treatment Charles gets from the rdr fandom as a whole, not only the OP in the screenshot.
Tumblr media
I have a lot of problems with this post, and I have been wanting to talk about this issue and pattern I’ve noticed in the rdr community. Again, I do not mean to send any hate in OP’s direction or suggest that OP is racist in any sense. With that being said…
It’s an inherently racial stereotype to assume that Charles, a black and native man, is illiterate with such a lack of evidence or real reasoning behind it. He was isolated for most of his life after the age of thirteen, and he’s been with a gang for only six months. He is very private, and he is shy. He doesn’t talk much at all, much less about reading. I have never seen this sort of assumption made about any other character, claiming they’re illiterate, because they’re never seen reading at camp.
This is the most ridiculous take I have ever seen. Charles is the one who buried Arthur with his own two hands and created his gravestone. He was the only person who knew where Arthur was buried, hence being the sole creator of Arthur’s final resting place. Charles’ handwriting is the one we see on the gravestone. Charles is the one who wrote the inscription on the cross. He is not illiterate.
I think a problem I have with a lot of Charles fans is that they see him as a blank slate. They see Charles, a physically attractive man, who is quiet and take him for that alone. He is often seen as a blank canvas to project their own ideas onto and sort of mold to their own use and convince. And often times, whether knowingly or not, Charles is consistently watered down to racial stereotypes. Race is obviously a part of who he is, and it affects a lot of his actions, as it does with everyone, but that is not all who he is.
Charles is clinging to the fringes of what little of his culture that he does have. His mother was taken from him as a boy, and he holds onto what little he does have and that absence of his mother, and both of his cultures (because people also tend to ignore the fact that he is also black) is a huge part of who he is. But a lot of folks would rather see his shyness as blankness. He is not levelheaded, but he is moral. He is not always morally correct though. It’s frustrating to constantly see who he is being ignored for the sake of the false persona that’s been created for him.
I think a lot of folks need to listen to the one dialogue of Charles opening up at the campfire. Yes it is a relatable speech for a lot of reasons, but it is also about his race, how he experiences the world, and how he feels as though he has no place because of the loss of his mother, the lack of knowing who he is, his culture, and a whole host of other things. He is one of the best written characters in the game, and to brush that aside to make him into this ‘softhearted super caring ideal s/o’ is so frustrating. This is the same man who was ready to kill Uncle if the need arose. He is moral, but they are morals of his own, and he is not always correct. He is also flawed, just like everyone else. He is not a saint. He is a flawed and conflicted man.
To disregard Charles for who he is, is such a great disservice to the character and to all the work put into him, his story, and other people who have and continue to share the same experiences as he does.

Ok MATE SO FORGIVE ME UNHINGEDNESS BUT I HAVE A REQUEST FOR A SMUT WITH KANO AND YES FTM READER
My request is like the reader is Kano's sugar baby and the reader slowly falls in love with him. You can do anything with the kinks i'm just in love with that aussie man, he's so ughhh, like make it rough but the things he says are gentle if you get what i'm saying
"daddy's pretty boy" ⸺ sugar daddy!kano x ftm reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TW: daddykink, afab anatomy, semi public sex, smut, v!sex, sugar daddy concept, age gap, praise, blowjob, degradation, spanking, kano is extremely vulgar (as he is kanonically)
Tumblr media
He gave you everything you asked for or wanted to ask for in the not so distant future, cars, mansions, dresses, heels, suits - everything you could imagine being expensive in a capitalized and consumerist world... He gave it to you.
You met Kano at a difficult stage in your life, he gave you a job as one of his lackeys helping with futile things at 'black dragons', but deep down he knew that you weren't born for this but rather to be pampered and taken care of.
Kano was not a saint, he never was, since he entered a position of power he always liked relationships without commitments, just sex and some kind of company on lonely nights, someone who would listen to his daydreams about music and weapons - even if it was a false interest, earned by dollar bills deposited in a fragile check and with you, in the beginning, it was no different.
He made you a proposal, being his sugar baby, and stopping working hard, was a better proposal than carrying heavy boxes of weapons all day, leading you to quickly accept.
The sex was good, the gifts were good, his company - however contradictory it was - was also good, you fucked at any opportunity, but he also never ran away from just a good platonic conversation, no kisses, no lustful touches, just hours on end of the two of you sitting, with you on his lap looking at the stars.
You promised yourself that you wouldn't fall in love, you wouldn't get attached to him, he was a bad and crazy man, someone you don't have a serious relationship with.
But, the way he made you feel, the warm touches, the warm smiles, the compliments, especially when he spanked your ass and called you "pretty boy" but not just a pretty boy... You were his pretty boy, it was impossible not to get attached to his persona, damn Kano was irresistible in a dangerous and... Delicious way.
Tumblr media
It was another normal day, shopping for clothes with Kano looking you up and down, drinking his beer in the private changing room he had reserved just for you that day. You looked at yourself in the mirror, satisfied with the result, while asking for his opinion. Kano put his arm around your shoulder and pulled you close to him, kissing the top of your head.
"-My little pretty boy, you're everything I want in a companion. You make my heart race and my dick hard as fuck just by looking at you." He said, drinking more beer while staring at your reflection. "-You look like a slutty angel." He continued, running his fingers over your chest, making you shiver with excitement "-I bet you'd be an amazing slut if you ever decided to become one." Kano grinned wickedly.
"-Do you want me to show you how good you can be baby boy doll? Do you trust daddy enough to let him teach you all about being a dirty little slut?" He spoke hoarsely, the breath of expensive beer and cigars entered your nose, while the ice cream from his bionic heart brushed against your skin.
Kano pressed his huge erection into your body, making you moan and ask if someone would catch you two there, fucking vulgarly. "-Relax boy.... I've got you covered. No one is going to see us here, not with the kind of money I have." He unzipping his pants and letting his hard cock spring out, he pushed you to your knees with a loud thump, as he teasingly rubbed his hot, thick cock across your cheek, soon watching you grab his member hard, as if it were your last fucking meal.
"-You're such a good little slut. Suck daddy's cock for me, make it wet and slippery." He running his fingers through your hair. "-Fuck boy, you really are my pretty boy." As you sucked him off, Kano grabbed your ass cheeks, spreading them apart and exposing your tight pussy to the mirror.
"-I can see us in the mirror, you're such a pretty boy, taking my huge cock deep into your throat." He spanking your ass as he fucked your mouth, without giving you time to react, just moaning against his hard cock. Kano soon pushing two fingers deep into your pussy, making you moan loudly as he fucked you with his fingers "-You'd be an amazing cock sucker. You have no idea how much I enjoy watching you worship my dick like this."
"-Oh shit, I knew you were good, but damn boy, you're amazing." Kano grinned wickedly, pulling his fingers out of your cunt - He turned you around so you were looking at his face, staring at the redness of the bionic eye he had. Without warning, Kano pushed his dick into your wet pussy, making you cry out in pleasure and pain. "-Good boy, daddy likes that..."
His hips met yours in sounds of flesh wet with lustful juices, his dick was already completely wet with your saliva and pre-semen, while you stared at his face with pleasure. With each rough but loving rhythm, you noticed that he was becoming softer, deciding to gain courage and talk about your feelings - which went beyond sex and money, beyond sugar babies and sugar daddy - between moans, you told him everything, closing your eyes. eyes and clinging to Kano's muscles, while he grunted with each thrust.
"-I knew it baby...You're in love with me. And I'm in love with you too, my little pretty boy." He moaned, thrusting his cock deeper into your pussy. "-We make the perfect team, don't we? I want you to know that you'll always have a place with me... Fuuck- You're more than just a pretty boy with a hot body. You're my little companion and I care for you deeply."
The thought of cumming for Kano was too much for you to handle, and you soon orgasmed, screaming loudly as waves of pleasure washed over you. You milked his cock, as you squirted, he held you easily, as he continued to prolong your pleasure and seek out his peak.
"-No matter what happens, I'll be here for you, my prince."
With those words, Kano came inside of you, filling your pussy with his hot cum. As he pulled out of you, you felt a sense of warmth and love that you had never experienced before. He placed a kiss on your cheek "-You're more beautiful this way, you know? Daddy Kano's pretty boy, forever and ever."

TIL from a podcast featuring historian and Byzantine archaeologist Yannis Theoharis:
Athens was one of the most religiously conservative cities of the Byzantine Empire. It adhered to the ancient Greek religion for longer than most other areas. Contrary to popular belief, its eventual conversion to Christianity did not happen violently. Christianity was getting more and more ground amongst the believers progressively. Meanwhile, the ancient temples and shrines were progressively emptying but as long as there were believers they were functioning properly and had guards and went through restoration works and all, as stated by Neoplatonic philosopher Proklos (with the exception of nude sculptures which had been destroyed already by proto-Christians). The historian also claims the conversion of the temples to churches happened later than what was previously believed, around the 7th-9th centuries. As the vast majority of the population had eventually converted to Christianity, the temples were left abandoned. The empire ordered their conversion to churches so that funding their preservation could be justified. Furthermore, there wasn’t as much of violent banning of ancient schools as it was thought. Justinian did not ban the function of the Neoplatonic school in Athens but ceased the state funding unless the school accepted to add Christian theology to its curriculum. The Neoplatonic school refused but it was not banned. It kept functioning using its own private funds until this wasn’t enough and the school had to close. Evidence for this is that it is documented that the school functioned for several decades or more than a century (don’t remember exactly) after Justinian’s imperial command, which was previously viewed as an immediate or violent shutdown. Meanwhile, the Neoplatonic school in Alexandria (in Egypt) agreed to add Christian theology to its curriculum and it kept functioning undisturbed until the 7th century and the Arab conquest.
Also, he has more insight into the similarities observed between Eastern / Greek and even all Orthodoxy and the Ancient Greek religion, such as idol / icon worship, lesser deity / saint worship, virgin female deity / super saint worship, patron gods / saints etc He says there was an interesting cycle of Christianised Hellenism followed by Hellenized Christianity. Some of these elements of Christian Orthodoxy were emphasized more than in the early years of Proto-Christianity or even exaggerated by the Byzantine Greek Christians in order to attract the pagan Greeks and make them understand more easily the philosophy of the new religion and find common ground between them. It worked.
Lastly, he disputed the dated assumptions that the Visigoth king Alaric I was assisted by monks to destroy Athens during his invasion in 396. This was falsely concluded because in documents it was found that Alaric was accompanied by men clad in black. Theoharis says these were actually Thracian soldiers (Alaric indeed fared long in Thrace and the Thracians were by large mercenaries) and supports it is very unlikely based on historical evidence of the time that Athenian or Greek Christians would collaborate with a Visigoth invader to help him destroy historical areas of Athens, even if they were pagan.
These are the most important bits from memory, I am linking the podcast here, it is in Greek.

hello!!!
i hope all is well~
so recently i've been getting closer to someone i have 12h and 8h synastry with and it feels soo confusing. i have sun, merc, venus in his 12, moon in his 8h, and mars in his 11h. i feel like this is just possibly fwb vibes, but i feel like i can't trust him and i've expressed this to him before. he claims that he's told me his darkest secret, but i still have a feeling he's hiding something from me... any input?
(for reference his sun n mercury are in my 1h, moon 7h, venus 2h, mars in 10h)
Hello!!
Thank you for the concern. ❤️❤️This has been a very busy time, but I've managed to find a time to answer some questions.
In relation to your question, I believe that this "mistrusting" feeling you have in relation to your partner drives more from the 12th house placements in synastry rather than the rest of the chart. I say that because I have this overlay too, and the energy that Neptune/Pisces/12th house brings is that the planet person can access a deeper part of the house person; a private part that we may call it as the “spiritual side" of the person and that maybe is a part that even the same person doesn't know about.
I call it “spiritual side" even though this name doesn't convince me enough, because the Neptune/12th house/Pisces energy erase part of the physical limit and grants an access to information of the other person that is well hidden. It's like you have this physical person in front of you but there is like a shadow behind him that seems to correspond to him but you can't quite see it as strong as the other. But you see it. You feel, intuitively or spiritually, that this energy it's him and that may create that mistrust towards him and that feeling that he is lying or hiding something from you.
That projection of the image or feelings we create once we are in the presence of the twelfth house person is something that many describe as a false image created by ilussions or lies by either the planet person or the house person, but, according to my knowledge of the mysterious energy of Neptune, this images or feelings are not false. They are real, but they come from another past life.
In other words, the way we feel, act, or see someone with whom we have a twelve house influence is not something out of fantasy but a spiritual recognition of a past life soul connection with the other person.
So, if someone gives you a brotherly or romantic feeling even though you don't know anything about them, this could be the reason on why you feel that way. Or, on the contrary, if someone gives you the creeps or you feel mistrusting towards the other, it could be something that came from a past life situation with your partner. This is where things gets confusing and disappointment for many. Since the planet person is able to capture this part of himself/herself and the possible past life history or feelings towards them, they will tend to assume or expect for this person to act in the same way that they did before. This is from both sides: good and bad. For example: if, in a past life, that person cheated, you would expect them to act the same way again unconsciously. Or, in the opposite, this person loved or treated you well, you would expect them to do the same again. Sadly, this is a new incarnation, and the lessons and attitudes the twelfth house person agreed to follow on this one could be very different from their incarnation with you. They could have been the most saint person before but today are thieves and abussive. That's why many people hate this aspect and believe that, mostly of the time, the Neptune/12th house energy brings deceit, lies, deceptions, and ilussions to any relationship. We see, feel, or act towards the person due to the spiritual and past life energy we capt thanks to the Neptune/Pisces/12th house energy. We see them according of who they were instead of who they are now, and that creates the confussion.
Hope this post resonates and explain your doubt. Apologize for being so absent.

In a later variant that appears in a fifteenth-century Novgorodskii Sofiiskii Sobor manuscript, this drinking ritual has an even more explicit sexual or phallic connotation: „And when one of them celebrates a wedding, they entertain themselves with drums and pipes and many other demonic devices; and another rite is even more inimical than this: after making a false male phallus, they insert it in buckets and drink from cups, and when drunk they smell and lick and kiss it.”
Here the ritual drinking is performed in a very specific context: a wedding celebration. Additionally, a curious container with a phallic shape is employed. It could be related to an allusion contained in the same Sofiiskii redaction of the Sermon by Saint Gregory, Found in the Comments, on How the Ancient Nations, When Pagan, Worshipped Idols and Offered Sacrifices to Them, and Continue to Do So Now: “The same Slavs during the wedding celebrations put their private parts inside of a bucket with garlics and drink through ithyphallic objects.”

You bring out the worst in me. I’ve been pretty quiet on a lot, I don’t really like drama but I’m wholeheartedly tired of hearing you play the victim when you won’t take any accountability for anything you said or did. You speak so highly of yourself during a period of time and talk so low and disrespectful to the other person. You twist the truth to fit your narrative and self-sabotage. You keep saying other people cheated and used you. I believe you have a guilty conscience. I was there for you during your dark times, but you gaslit me into mine. I came to you sobbing and all you said was to go cut myself. You never bothered to talk to me or read anything I said, you made jokes and belittled me. I tried so hard to be enough for you but you strayed off to someone else and cheated. I didn’t know about it until recently. Or I wouldn’t have stayed in contact, to be there for you, to give you advice on your relationship that you sucked me into. I wouldn’t have continued to listen. I wouldn’t have let you play me like a fiddle. You act like a Saint and as if you did nothing wrong. But you don’t share the other side, the side where you were toxic. People tried to open doors for you but you didn’t walk through them, you just lit fires at the entrance. You can’t disrespect and belittle your partner and wonder why they closed your door. I’m sure there’s someone out there for you. But things for you aren’t going to change unless you take accountability for your words and actions. Healing is accepting and you don’t accept. You don’t move on. You would probably have a positive mindset if you stopped self-sabotaging. You made me realize a lot in our fallout. I deserve to be heard. I deserve to be understood. I deserve loyalty. You weren’t cheated on. No matter how much you try to spin the facts, you had a loyal partner. Who is now happy in their life, trying to move on. You sucked me into your relationship for so long, I saw everything. Every misunderstanding, every word shared, every heated argument. All of it. I witnessed everything. I could have been your couples therapist. And you try to spin it all even when there’s facts “receipts” to counter your lies and false beliefs. You aren’t a victim. Everything you portray others to be, is what you are. It’s who you are. It isn’t okay to treat a human like they are less than dirt. It’s never okay to tell someone to cut themselves or go die. It’s never okay to call someone hateful names during an argument or take low blow jabs with information you were told in private to use it against them. I always hoped that you would be the positive person I thought you could be but you keep showing me that you won’t ever change. You won’t ever have self-reflection or healing unless you accept it all. I’m not saying you are a bad person, you do have good qualities and there’s moments where there is positivity. But your lies. Your victim act of being cheated on and used and lied to. You did it all, willingly and repeatedly. You never admit your wrongs. I never cheated on you. I loved you unconditionally. I put your wants first and put mine on the back burner. I never tried so hard to make things work. No relationship is perfect. But I deserve better. And I found a better influence. No cheating involved. Time passed and simple communication happened. I found a person who is understanding and wants to understand when things aren’t clear. I found a person who doesn’t make me feel like I want to die. I found a person who doesn’t make me feel like a burden when my anxiety is high, they are there for me and reminding me to breathe. I know all the stories you spin are lies because you threw me into your relationship when things were rocky. I know if you took accountability for yourself, maybe you could finally heal instead of dwelling and entertaining thoughts that aren’t real. You said to stay out of your life which I would love nothing more but you keep popping into mine. So maybe stay out of my life? Respectively fuck off.

LAST LINE TAG GAME
Rules: Post the last sentence you wrote (fanfiction/original works/anything) and tag as many people you want there are words in the sentence.
Thanks for the tag @ereardon
So I've been bouncing between three fics, so hears a snippet from all of them!
This one is from a fic for @roosterforme 's Rocktober challenge:
"Tash, I meant what I said. I'm tired of hiding us. Aren't you?" Javy pleads with her. "Javy, we both know that it wouldn't be good for our careers if we told people about us." Natasha tells him.
"That's bullshit, Natasha, and we both know it. It's the same bullshit answer you've been giving me for eight months, and I'm tired of it. So here's the deal. Either we tell the world or I walk." Javy stands up to his full height and stares down at her.
Natasha stays silent, looking up at him, too afraid to meet his eyes. Javy swallows thickly. "So I guess that's it then?"
And here is a bit from my fic for @laracrofted 's 1989TV challenge:
The thought of what he did left a bitter taste in his mouth. When he tried to call you, you had already blocked his number and changed all of your social media to private.
For five years, the only glimpse Jake got of you was the two by two profile picture you changed every so often. And every time he looked down at his hand, he was reminded of you. The red ink heart etched into his skin, mocking him day after day.
Jake swore that if he ever saw you again, he would make things right. But he knew he'd shattered your heart into a million pieces. How could he fix a looking glass that had been broken?
And finally, a bit from the next chapter of false god, titled Church
"So you're telling me that you are the God I prayed to growing up? The one my mom asked to save my soul when I was a wild teenager?" Bradley asks you with a chuckle.
"I know you were expecting someone else, sorry to disappoint." You laugh at him as you sit up and swing your legs over him, the sheets falling loosely to your hips. You grab the thin chain of the gold cross around Bradley's neck, the object that had started the whole conversation, and wrap it around your fingertips.
"Oh, I'm not disappointed by any means." Bradley breathes out as he closes the distance and kisses you. "I just wish I could go back to Saint Greg's and tell my teachers they were wrong." You throw your head back in a breathy laugh. The irony of your husband attending Catholic School as a youth isn't lost on you.
You move to kiss him again, but without warning. He flips you off of his lap and drops to the floor. He grabs your ankle and tugs you to the edge of the bed and parts your naked thighs. "Bradley, what are you doing?" You ask him. You lean up on your elbows to see that your husband is kneeling before you.
"Growing up, I was taught that the best place to worship was on your knees. And, well, I haven't been on my best behavior lately, and it's been years since my last confession, so I came to the alter to repent." Bradley tells you as he leans closer, lips just centimeters from your core.
"Though, I'm not pretty sure this isn't what Father MacKenzie meant when he told me to recite my Hail Marys." Bradley smirks at you before flattening his tonuge along your seam.

Been working on the pyramid again. It's nearly done, bar the three large rooms at the base. I know what each one is going to be, I just need to build them. Also I am glad I got the hermit heads thing, bc it makes for much better statuary. They're not perfect equivalents for Egyptian gods, but that isn't really the way I'm using them. I just think it gives the pyramid more life to have all these different statues around the place. also ofc I had to put TFC in the main entrance. <3
That said, Stress, here, is depicting the goddess Mut, who oversees purifications and the isheru/baths where priests would wash and purify themselves before going into the temple. The rest are kinda just there bc I wanted some statuary on the second floor and they all just seemed like good pairings to use (Ren and Doc; Jev and Cleo; Keralis and xB).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've also completely redone the upper floor under the Holy of Holies and made some storage and offering preparation rooms.
Tumblr media
This is the dream incubation room underneath the Holy of Holies. In Egyptian temples, they would have dream incubation rooms where you could sleep the night in the temple in order to dream the answer to a question you wanted the god to answer. The bed is a smol version of the one Cub build in his pyramid.
Tumblr media
I want to do a little more decoration in here, but this is a healing pool/healing room. It sits opposite the dream incubation room.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The House of Life/private library only accessible to the priests, watched over by Seshat (False) and Djehuty (Cub). This would have spells and rituals and other magical formulae used by the priests in ritual or in other work they would be doing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, the Holy of Holies. This would be accessible only to the priests and is the smallest part of the pyramid. I possibly, more correctly, should have put the statues in cabinets/closed shrines, and I may still do that, but this works for now. I wanted to get a basic set-up done first and see how I like it. Obvs I had to put my Vex boys in there, as well as Saint Bdubs of the Sun. I'd have loved for Scar to be holding a bow, but apparently Bedrock won't let me do that so. He's holding a pickaxe instead. -_-

SAINT OF THE DAY (February 15)
Tumblr media
On February 15, the Catholic Church honors Saint Claude de la Colombiere, the 17th-century French Jesuit who authenticated and wrote about Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque's visions of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
When he canonized St. Claude in 1992, Pope John Paul II upheld him as a model Jesuit, recalling how the saint “gave himself completely to the Sacred Heart, 'ever burning with love.'
Even in trials, he practiced forgetfulness of self in order to attain purity of love and to raise the world to God.”
Born in the south of France on 2 February 1641, Claude de la Colombiere belonged to a family of seven children, four of whom entered the priesthood or religious life.
He attended a Jesuit school in his youth and entered the order himself at age 17.
As a young Jesuit recruit, Claude admitted to having a “horrible aversion” to the rigorous training required by the order in his day.
But the novitiate of the Society of Jesus focused and sharpened his natural talents.
He would later take a private vow to obey the order's rules as perfectly as possible.
After completing his order's traditional periods of study and teaching, Claude became a priest in 1669.
Known as a gifted preacher, he also taught at the college level and served as a tutor to the children of King Louis XIV's minister of finance.
In 1674, the priest became the superior of a Jesuit house in the town of Paray-le-Monial.
It was during this time, in his role as confessor to a convent of Visitationist nuns, that Claude de la Colombiere became involved in events that would change his own life and the history of the Western Church.
One of the nuns, later canonized as St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, claimed to have experienced private revelations from Christ urging devotion to his heart as the symbol and seat of God's love for mankind.
Within the convent, however, these reports met with dismissal and contempt.
During his time in Paray-le-Monial, Father la Colombiere became the nun's spiritual director, giving careful consideration to her testimony about the purported revelations.
He concluded that Sister Margaret Mary had indeed encountered Jesus in an extraordinary way.
Claude la Colombiere's writings and his testimony to the reality of St. Margaret Mary's experiences helped to establish the Sacred Heart as a feature of Western Catholic devotion.
This, in turn, helped to combat the heresy of Jansenism, which claimed that God did not desire the salvation of some people.
In the fall of 1676, Father la Colombiere was called away from Paray-le-Monial to England.
During a time of tension in the religiously torn country, he ministered as chaplain and preacher to Mary of Modena, a Catholic who had become the Duchess of York.
In 1678, a false rumor spread about an alleged Catholic “plot” against the English monarchy.
The lie led to the execution of 35 innocent people, including eight Jesuits.
La Colombiere was not put to death but was accused, arrested, and locked in a dungeon for several weeks.
The French Jesuit held up heroically during the ordeal, but conditions in the prison ruined his health before his expulsion from England.
He went back to France in 1679 and resumed his work as a teacher and priest, encouraging love for Christ's Sacred Heart among the faithful.
In 1681, Claude de la Colombiere returned to Paray-le-Monial, the site of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque's revelations.
It was there, during 1682, that the 41-year-old priest died from internal bleeding on the year's first Sunday of Lent, February 15.
Claude de la Colombiere was beatified by Pope Pius XI on 16 June 1929 – nine years after the canonization of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque. He was canonized by Pope John Paul II on 31 May 1992.

Harry Lambert is the man who put Harry Styles in a dress. The stylist talks to Morwenna Ferrier about fame and how men’s clothes are changing
The Guardian | 26 May 2022
Walking down the narrow corridor towards stylist Harry Lambert’s studio, I can’t be the first person to wonder if Harry Styles – Lambert’s most famous client – has trod the same blue carpet. Not that Lambert would tell me. Getting him to talk about Styles is like getting blood from a stone. “OK, look,” he says. “When it comes to questions about Harry, I just consider our relationship too private to go too deep. You have to remember I am there in the most intimate times with people I work with. I’m often the last person they see before they go on stage. It’s an intimate space! I’m aware that a lot of the attention I get is because of him, but I want to be very careful. But let’s try. OK. Go.”
Harry met Harry around the time of One Direction’s 2014 album, Four. Rumours of a solo career were circulating, and Styles was going through his “Jagger period”, wearing black Saint Laurent suits, Chelsea boots and leonine hair tamed by bright bandanas – fashion filtered through NME rather than GQ.
Lambert was mostly styling magazine shoots and fashion shows when they were introduced to each other. He presented a wardrobe (“playful stuff, Gucci and JW Anderson, stuff like that”), and Styles agreed to give it a whirl. What emerged is best described as 1970s man, resurrected – flares, with a side of camp. Styles was always game, he says, “but when it happened, it was still like: ‘Fuck, this is wild.’”
The fashion industry gobbled it up. From the sheer black blouse and single pearl earring at the 2019 Met Gala, to the tight crimson Arturo Obegero jumpsuit in the video to As It Was, Styles became mainstream pop’s most determined subverter of gender stereotypes.
Lambert has been central to this, a sort of Thomas Cromwell to Styles’s Henry VIII, but dissolving binaries instead of monasteries. Not that that’s how he sees it: “Look, when it comes to this [gender stuff], I wish I could be all: ‘I wanted to change the world!’ But it’s more that it’s a byproduct of what we’re doing,” he says. “If you look at pop icons over the years, fashion is such an integral part of their image, like Björk in the swan dress, Britney in the schoolgirl outfit. I’m aware that what I do is having an impact, but is that top of the agenda for me? No.”
We’re sitting on a bench in the communal garden behind his two-room studio in Hoxton, east London. In one room, platform shoes spill out of an Ikea Kallax unit. In the other, rails of clothes sit. Lambert, 35, is warm and chatty, with a gentle East Anglian accent and short bleached hair. He’s wearing wide-legged Marni trousers in chequerboard brown, large black pearls and a T-shirt lightly stained with breakfast.
Celebrity stylists are relatively new. In Hollywood’s golden age – Lambert’s favourite era – actors were styled by costume designers from the studios. By the early 70s, the studio system was over, so stars dressed themselves, which didn’t always go well (Google any Oscars ceremony in the 1980s).
It wasn’t until the mid-00s and Rachel Zoe – who turned her cadre (Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan) into avatars of her stick-thin self, and is rumoured to have commanded $10,000 a day – that stylists became as famous as their clients.
Today, the red carpet is an economy unto itself, built on the (often false) idea that what celebrities wear is an extension of their personality rather than, say, a mutually beneficial marketing tool brokered between label, celebrity and stylist. No one knows how much money changes hands, but given that many celebrities require stylists as much off stage as on (the walking-to-the-car-holdinga-juice outfit can be as considered as what is worn to the Grammys) the celebrity stylist has never been more powerful. Which explains why some of the big Hollywood ones – Law Roach, say, who put Zendaya in a hot pink breastplate, or Karla Welch, who put Justin Bieber in extra-long sleeved T-shirts – are household names, if you live in that sort of home.
Unusually for a stylist, Lambert has just four clients: Styles, Everton footballer Dominic Calvert-Lewin, and The Crown actors Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor (each of whom has a body double who tries on outfits the day before). Lambert gets approached a lot, but usually says no. “I only style people who – sorry to sound all LA – I connect with, or who I can transform. I once styled Kylie [Minogue] – but what do you even do with Kylie?”
It’s reasonable to say that O’Connor’s look is the most conventional. Standouts include a navy double-breasted sailor suit with ceramic buttons by SS Daley, worn to last year’s TV Baftas, “but there’s always a little twist, or flourish”, says Lambert. “It can never be conventional – I hate that.”
Corrin, whom he met through a friend, came out as queer last year, and uses clothes to communicate this. “There’s a pressure on girls in acting to be sexy, to be a bombshell, to have [their] boobs out. Emma is sexy, but it’s about playing with people’s perceptions of what is beautiful,” says Lambert. I say the Loewe dress and balloon bra she wore to the Olivier awards in April certainly felt like an in-joke. “The Oliviers are a bit stuffy, so we thought: ‘Let’s do something that most people aren’t going to get,’” he says with a laugh. “It’s a
Back in the day if you were into clothes you were gay. Now caring about your look is almost normal
conversation, but in a dress. Even the Daily Mail loved it.”
As with all stylists’ muses, there is an obligation to wear designers if they are linked with them – Corrin was the face of Miu Miu, Styles of Gucci and O’Connor of Loewe. But in using vintage pieces as well as pushing smaller designers such as Daley, Edward Crutchley and Harris Reed, whose gender-fluid designs have since ended up at the Met Gala, Lambert is attempting to redress the power balance.
Earlier this year, he turned down the chance to appear on the cover of the Hollywood Reporter. “I didn’t get into this job to be on a cover. Fashion is scary, fashion week is scary,” Lambert says. “There are ‘faces’, like Anna Wintour, and then there are people like me.”
But because of his job – and because of social media – he is a face of sorts. “Someone took my picture on the bus and tagged me this week. So I’m famous to a particular group of people.” The Harrys have nicknames for each other (Lambert is Susan, and Styles is Sue) and the internet has fun with their relationship, with Reddit threads devoted to unpacking what these names mean. Again, Lambert won’t comment, but it seems an efficient way to differentiate between two people called Harry.
I want to be remembered for men being able to wear necklaces and it not be a thing
Growing up in Norwich, Lambert was into clothes, not fashion. He cycled through trends familiar to a millennial (the skateboarding emo phase, the Abercrombie & Fitch ripped loose jeans phase) and, at school, drifted towards art. He studied photography at Rochester University and while he loved the narrative side, he tripped up on the technicalities, and instead spent his summers interning at various magazines.
He then moved to east London, just at the end of nu-rave. “I got into the industry right at the end, just after [the recession], when everyone had money, but also just before styling became a thing,” he says. He got work as a commercial stylist – including a stint at fast fashion “factory” Asos, and later Topman, but his Damascene moment was “bejewelling Little Boots’ roller skates on a shoot”.
His most recent client is CalvertLewin, one of the few footballers who doesn’t dress as if he has been vomited on by a bank. Last winter’s Arena Homme+ cover, in which he wears a flared short suit and a glittery pink Prada handbag, was a blue-tick Lambert look – high fashion with an androgynous twist. Is Lambert a football fan? “No. I had to do half a season at Norwich City – Delia Smith’s team – when I was a kid, but only to escort my little brother.”
You only need to look at Little Richard, David Bowie or Prince to see that androgyny has been part of pop since the beginning. Yet in football, outward expressions of so-called femininity are few and far between. Is Lambert trying to drive a conversation about gender by introducing this fashion to the Premier League? Lambert laughs again. “I didn’t bring the handbags to Dominic. He has three or four Chanel handbags of his own. But just because someone is a masculine straight guy in the football community, and has a handbag, it shouldn’t be a big deal.” But it is a big deal, I say, in a good way. “OK, yeah, I understand how toxic the [football] industry can be, so to see a man with a Chanel handbag is … something. But everyone is trying to tap into that market,” he says of fashion and sport. “Back in the day, if you were into clothes you were gay. Now caring about how you look – it’s almost normal.”
It’s unsurprising then that Gucci recently signed pomade-loving footballer Jack Grealish to front a future campaign. At the mention of his name, Lambert shifts around, then denies all knowledge of the signing. I’d put a tenner on him being involved.
“I think how men dress is changing,” he says. “The Loewe aesthetic is going to be the next super-brand for youth in the way that Balenciaga and Vetements [two of the brands responsible for luxury logo streetwear] rewrote what was cool. You can see it happening.” To translate, Lambert means clothes that are pretty and surreal, logo-free knitwear and lots of colour. Like Styles’ famous rainbow cardigan – effeminate and fun. “It’s the vibe shift, yeah.”
“When I’m gone,” Lambert says, “I just hope it’s silly things such as putting Harry [Styles] in pearls and that men can wear necklaces and it not be a thing – that’s the stuff I want to be remembered for. That and when people dress up as Harry for Halloween.” He claps his hands. “It means that we’ve done something that has had cultural impact. It means we’ve got through.”

ISLAM 101: Spirituality in Islam: Part 167
Sidq (Truthfulness)
Meaning true thought, true words and true actions, sidq is reflected in the life of a traveler on the path to God as follows: he or she does not lie or tell a falsehood, lives according to truthfulness, and strives to be a trustworthy representative of loyalty to God. In other words, he or she never deviates from truthfulness in all thoughts, words and actions and, in obedience to the Qur’anic command: Be with the truthful (9:119), always seeks truthfulness on both an individual and a social level. Such people are so careful about being truthful that they never give false evidence or tell lies even in jest. As related in a Prophetic saying, one who is truthful to that degree is recorded as a truthful one by the Supreme Court, while one whose thoughts, words, and actions are contradictory and who deceives others is recorded as a liar. [1]
Truthfulness is the firmest road leading to God, and the truthful are fortunate travelers upon it. Truthfulness is the spirit and essence of action and the true standard of straightforwardness in thought; it distinguishes believers from hypocrites, and the people of Paradise from the people of Fire. Truthfulness is a Prophetic virtue in those who are not Prophets, by which “servants” share the same blessings as “kings.” In the Qur’an, God Almighty described as being true both the one who communicated it and the one who confirmed it: He who came with the truth and he who declared that it is true (39:33).
Truthfulness can be defined as struggling to preserve one’s integrity and to avoid hypocrisy and lying, even in strained circumstances when a lie will cause release. Junayd al-Baghdadi says: A loyal, truthful one changes states at least forty times a day (in order to preserve personal integrity), while a hypocrite remains the same for forty years without feeling any trouble or unease (over his or her deviation). [2]
The initial and lowest degree of truthfulness is sincerity and behaving the same whether in public or in private. This is followed by being true in all thoughts, feelings, actions, and intentions. The truthful are those valiant people whose feelings, thoughts, and actions do not contradict one another; the most truthful are those heroes who are absolutely true in all of their imaginations, intentions, feelings, thoughts, actions, and gestures.
Using all of one’s faculties and capacities to achieve truthfulness in all actions, adherence to a lofty ideal or cause, and loyalty to or steadfastness in it is an attribute of Prophethood. In the verse: Make mention of Abraham in the Book: he was a most truthful one, a Prophet (19:41), the Qur’an refers to this highest degree of truthfulness. Truthfulness is the primary attribute of all Prophets, and the strongest moral force or means-producing activity for serving Islam and the Qur’an. It is also a believer’s greatest credit and most valid document in the Hereafter. God draws our attention to this significant fact: This is a day in which their truthfulness profits the truthful (5:119).
Truthfulness serves the Prophets, the purified and perfected scholars and the saints brought near to God, as a heavenly mount that, as quick as lightning, can carry them to the highest heights; lying, however, pulls Satan and his followers down to the lowest depths. Thoughts “fly upward” on the wings of truthfulness and increase in value, actions grow and flourish on the ground of truthfulness, and truthful supplications and prayers reach the Throne of Mercy and are welcomed.
Truthfulness is as effective as the “elixir” of God’s Greatest Name. When asked about the Greatest Name, Bayazid al-Bistami answered:
Show me the Least Name among God’s Names so that I may show you the Greatest One. If there is something as effective (for the acceptability by God of prayers and actions) as the Greatest Name, it is truthfulness. Whichever Name is recited truthfully, It becomes the Greatest.
Truthfulness caused the light of repentance to shine on the forehead of Prophet Adam, upon him be peace. Truthfulness served as a vessel of salvation for Prophet Noah, upon him be peace, when the world was flooded. Truthfulness carried Prophet Abraham, upon him be peace, to safety and coolness from the fire into which he had been thrown. Truthfulness elevates ordinary people to extraordinary heights, and is a key that opens the door to realms and realities beyond visible existence. One borne aloft by truthfulness cannot be detained from journeying upward, and doors are not closed in the face of one who uses this key. How apt are the words of Rumi in this respect:
The truthfulness of a lover affects even the lifeless;
Why then should it be found strange that it affects man’s heart? The truthfulness of Moses affected his staff and the mountain; Nay, it also affected that great, splendid sea. As for the truthfulness of Muhammad, it affected The beautiful face of the Moon and also the shining Sun.
In many verses, the Qur’an relates that being a true believer depends upon one’s integrity and truthfulness in words, actions, feelings, and innermost senses. It also regards such a degree of integrity and truthfulness as the basis of happiness in both this world and the next. The following are a few examples:
– Say: My Lord, cause me to enter with truth, and cause me to go out with truth, and grant me a power from Your Presence to help me. (17:80)
– Grant me a good reputation, being remembered for truthfulness, in later generations. (26:84)
– Give to those who believe good tidings that they have a true, sure footing in the sight of their Lord. (10:2)
– The righteous are in the Gardens and rivers, on the seats of truthfulness in the Presence of a Mighty King. (54:54-5)
Entering with truth, going out with truth, being remembered for truthfulness, true and sure footing, and a seat of truthfulness are all stations of and provisions for a long road extending from this world to the Hereafter. Since what takes place in this world yields fruit in the Hereafter, the truthful always pursue what is true, observe truthfulness when starting a task or moving to another place in the way of God, act and live in accord with the requirements of truthfulness, and bequeath truthfulness to succeeding generations. Their objective is to deserve eternal happiness in the Hereafter.
To become truthful in intentions and aims, believers must consciously decide to become truthful in their thoughts, decisions, and acts. This is the first step. Those so resolved must persist in truthfulness, regardless of the consequences, and refrain from whatever might shake their resolution. The second step is to maintain this worldly life only to support the truth and gain God’s approval and pleasure. Such people are always aware of the defects and faults of their selfhood, and do not surrender to the world’s attractions and change their conditions for worldly reasons. The third step is to establish truthfulness so firmly in one’s conscience that it governs every facet of life. This is identical with the station of being pleased, which is explained in the Tradition: One who is pleased with God as the Lord and Islam as the religion and Muhammad as the Prophet has tasted the delight of belief. [3]
The greatest truthfulness and loyalty is for people to be pleased with the Lordship of God regardless of the treatment He dispenses, to accept Islam as the Divine system governing their lives, and to submit willingly to the guidance or leadership of the best of creation, upon him be peace and blessings. The way to true humanity lies in undertaking this grave responsibility, which is very difficult to fulfill perfectly.
Let us conclude with a fine couplet:
What befits man is truthfulness even if under threat; God Almighty is the helper of the truthful.

None of words can describe how someone is literally ******** up. Pretending to be saint in public and rotten in private. Bending people to rules not rules to people. For now we live in peace but probably we still need moral officers and false prophets. It's an irony of discretion. Double standard on society. One tends to be 'half perfect only for public' by banning perfection for others. Looks like we must pay for other mistakes and falls.

They say that the key to good eavesdropping is not getting caught, and well in that case dear readers I am the mastermind of camouflage.
You don't need to know my precise identity, however I want you to know that I am fully aware of who you are and what you are all about.
Like Saint Nicholas, I hear and see all- and since I've had no other work lately then to sit and listen, I'll be here to report on the daily activities and drama surrounding the most prominent families here.
Keep your voices low and your guard high.
~ The Duchess
OOC: This is how this will work;
I will need you to send in asks with rumors, about private conversations in the DMs, your characters secrets, secrets of other characters that you learned, or even fake rumours!
I will not publish these asks directly, but turn them into scandal sheets- of course I will not just say these secrets outright directly, I will twist and turn them so that the rumours can take on a life of their own and so that the real truth can be revealed in rp, and I will not be publishing all rumours immediately- I will publish them in scandal sheets when I hsve more rumors on a consisting theme.
Now, this will only work if you send in asks consistently about private conversations that may or may not be true, so please send stuff in. The second something is revealed in private conversation, send it. When you find out a secret about a character or make up a secret about your character, send it. I will need as much material as I can, so do not be afraid to send asks even if the information is not anything important- anything is better then nothing, even trivial conversation is useful.
To start off the scandal sheets I will ask you to send this in about your character: 5 rumours- two good, two bad and one false. You can also include whatever it is about your characters or others if you wish. Send more or send less- but I would appreciate if you sent at least something.
(Ps-
1. Ofcourse, if you don't want your characters to be included, just say so and I will not publish about them.
2. This is not ment to be some huge plot point- just a resource to get rumours spiraling around! So there is no rp character behind this, aka no one to really unmask, so don't focus on that and instead of what is being said in the papers.)

One of the worst theories I’m seeing (both on here and on Twitter, mainly from PR harries but even that little clique of mean girl harries has spread this) is that Olivia is using the fact that she got served on stage as PR for her and the movie. They think she leaked that she got served (which is false - attendees live tweeted it as it happened), they think she leaked what the actual documents were (again, false because multiple articles said her reps refused to comment) and now they are saying she leaked the Backgrid video that came out an hour after the DWD trailer dropped for more publicity.
Why in the HELL would she do any of those things? Honestly I want to know their reasoning for this (besides the obvious reason that they made it all up because they hate her). The movie trailer had over a million views across social media in an hour and tons of movie critics and actual industry people have praised it since CinemaCon. It’s got Oscar buzz already. Why would she need to leak details about a private custody matter when we haven’t heard one single peep about any issues with her and Jason’s co-parenting in the last 2 years? Wouldn’t it make much more sense to say Jason planned all of this as well as leaked the Backgrid video to actually make her look terrible and draw attention away from the film where she and Harry met? He’s the only one giving interviews and statements. She hasn’t spoken Jason’s name in 2 years and she has obviously moved on from that relationship. Jason appears to have moved on too but it also seems like he may still want to get in little digs at her when he can since he keeps speaking about it.
But I truly think this little theory of theirs is totally vile and makes me sick to my stomach. Along with the one where everyone on the cast and crew hates her, hates the movie and she was unprofessional on set so Florence had to step in and direct the whole thing. All of that was completely made up and submitted to DeuxMoi and now tons of them just take it as fact. Meanwhile when DM posts that she thinks H&O are engaged - they scream, cry, throw up and talk about what a hack DeuxMoi is and that she knows nothing. Hmmm which is it then? It’s hard to stick to just one narrative apparently.
You said it all!!!! I promise this is not how she wants to do PR for her movie. She's worked hard to make a name for herself in the industry and earn respect as a female director in an extremely male-dominated field. She's not going to deliberately screw with that by putting her personal life front and center in the promo for her film. I don't understand why everyone thinks her ex is a saint who can do no wrong and don't suspect that he's doing all of this in a very calculated manner to fuck with her. They always have to assume she, the woman, is being conniving and manipulative and self-serving behind the scenes instead of assuming her ex is trying to punish her because he's a dick. It's all so blatantly misogynistic like it's almost laughable.
