This is a little out of the blue, but I genuinely really enjoy hearing your tsaritsa lore and character breakdowns. She's hasn't been someone I'm terribly invested in getting to know as a character, but reading your thoughts on her has really piqued my interest. I've never considered what being the goddess of love could mean I guess

THIS IS SO GOOD TO HEAR i love going into deep dive breakdowns of characters especially ones who don't really have a lot of content, because it provides wiggle room for a lot of interpretations. not that i can blame you for not being too invested in her, considering we've never actually seen her, and only hear about from a few sources (venti, who doens't really say much, and childe + arle who also technically dont say much in the grand scheme of things but understanding their characters to see how it changes their view of the tsaritsa and where it overlaps is a good chunk of it)

forming a bond with childe has always been such an interesting moral dilemma when i think about it like. it's not that childe is mentally unstable, it's that he's as stable as can be & knows where his priorities lie. there is no changing someone who knows what he does is morally incorrect, that he will risk the lives of thousands again if he saw it was necessary. but he is genuinely such a sweet, loyal & nice guy outside of being a fatui, moreso a harbinger. it would be so much easier if he were an adventurer like he hoped he would be as a kid. but you do not change someone like childe, not until he sees the endpoint of the tsaritsa's vision. you can't just tunnel vision into thinking he's a good person with a cause. so i think it's always worth asking: will you accept the 11th harbinger, even when he may put you in harm's way, intentional or not?

My Dad tested positive (again) this morning. He started feeling poorly yesterday and as he’s the kind of person who barely noticed a headache when he was having aural migraines bad enough to send him to ER, I scampered off the couch and out of the house pretty damn quick. Based on the timeline, I’m pretty sure it wasn’t me - I’ve coughed and sneezed more since getting home from vacation but we were all sure it was just allergies and I’ve tested negative. We’re currently pretty sure the culprit is the 24 hours spent at his 55th (?) high school reunion over the weekend. My Mom has surrendered to the fact that she’s going to test positive by tomorrow. So I’m sitting here in The Annex dithering. 500 yards away and now banned from entering my parents’ house.

(And I’m mad because the embossing power is not adhering correctly so I trashed at least a half dozen cards and that means I have to redesign my Rosh Hashanah cards and now they’re probably going to arrive late. But that’s a completely different issue.)

I love just abandoning Elden Ring playthroughs I'm just like "okay that's enough" and start a new game...I've been playing Elden Ring almost nonstop (with a little mass effect break) since I got it in November and it's now June. And I'm still like...hm I think I'm done with this strength/int endeavor I want to try blasphemous paladin again

#I just love roleplaying a sad paladin learning their oath is kind of shit #and trying but failing to abandon it and instead striking a balance where they redefine their oath for themselves #which isn't. *really* a paladin. In the DnD sense. There's Consequences to breaking an oath there isn't it? which is very fun actually #but this isn't DnD #me vs elden ring #I'm always captivated by the concept of what it means to have faith in the world of dark souls #where objectively factually the things you have faith in are failing/have failed and fallen #and the figures central to your religion turn out to be flawed and human #and yet at the same time miracles are tangible things and your faith allows you to heal and defend yourself and spread blessings #what is 'faith' in this scenario exactly? Faith in what? #I can never make a dumb faith build who just walks forward with entirely blind belief I always have to angst it a bit #in dark souls I always lean back towards it being faith *in* the miracles. The tales of the gods you recite to receive their blessing #or copy their abilities with lightning spear etc. #Elden Ring is especially funny of course because faith allows you all kinds of incantations. And I think the fact that you have all kinds o #incantations. MOST of which are kind of blasphemous and have nothing to do with the Erdtree itself #and yet you can cast them just the same as any other incantation #is an interesting concept to me. For a character to struggle with. #Alongside the whole 'Marika was the one who shattered the Elden Ring' thing. #I also like making devoted faith knights who swear oaths and are secretly really repressed gay boys. #what if I wielded a blasphemous blade of unholy flame and you wielded a sliver of a cold dark moon and we were both boys

Here we go! The Dating Sim of the Year!

You start the game. You've been waiting months to play this game, and it's now here. You eagerly create your character. Your game begins with a song. You were taken aback by the game. You may choose the genre of the story and switch between the romances if you choose. The developer went above and above; it's almost amazing.

"Careful, you'll catch a cold…" You are ecstatic when a harsh and deep voice emanates from the screen. The voice acting was fantastic! You already liked Sangria. He had offered your MC a jacket while staring out with a flush on his face in the CG.

"You're my choice. Don't ever let anyone tell you anything different." As Falcon's deep and gruff voice comes through the screen, you blush slightly. He was cradling the MC you made in his arms in the CG.

"Let me be your hero... Please..." Aegean's voice came next, and it was gentle and light. As you see a CG, his voice shakes, and he is on his knees, gripping your MC's hands and looking at you pleadingly.

"Pfft... Don't look at me like that... I'll get the wrong idea." Maple's calm and cool voice followed. As your MC gazed at him, he was covering his face with his hand, an orange tint on his face.

"It's okay, I won't let you fall..." Sepia's voice was the next to be heard. Their voice was as gentle as a warm blanket and as smooth as honey. They were holding your MC's hand as they walked on water step stones in the CG.

"I told you to be careful!" Briar's rough, deep, and harsh voice was the next to come through. They were holding your MC's bridal style as they strolled in the CG. They were looking at your MC with a mixture of irritation and anxiety.

"Come on! It'll be fun!" Rosewood's upbeat and joyful voice shone through. In the CG, she was dragging your MC by the hand to a carnival.

"You're doing better, I'm proud." Juniper's calm and compassionate voice can be heard via the screen. She's sitting behind your MC in the CG, showing them how to play the guitar.

You didn't realize how this game would quite literally drag you in. But you were excited to play.

#txt #i sooo want to design a Silly Hat for nimue #i think i am because cdpr did it and tbh it was kind of fire asf… but it didnt always fit the characters they designed… #first thing you should know about the witcher: everyone has some kind of headgear. headband hat little band or tie or whatever #except probably some sorceresses because they have their Freeflowing Hair but even so like visenna and assire have/had headwear #honestly im really interested in nilfgaardian sorceress fashion because it’s supposed to be more modest/less caring about impressing people #and i wonder if some of that attitude bled into / mixed northern attitudes after the witch hunts!! #a modest northern sorceress is a HILARIOUS idea in the mid 1200s but maybe is not so strange in the 1300s or even 1400s #i also think it would be interesting because we typically think of fashion getting more provocative and less covering as time goes on #but that really doesn’t have to be the case at all + i think it would be interesting to see the effect of cold weather and climate change #on fashion particularly women’s fashion and necklines. i know sorceresses can magic themselves to not be cold but why use magic if you could #just put more fabric on? it’s such a fuss and anyways i’m rambling but i just would love to explore a logical progression of fashion

a kinda long post about my ship with Ly.on V.asti.a and my self insert Nova Celestina, and their melancholic-ish meet cute (?)

Ly..on and Nova meet each other for the very first time at the Fai.ray Ta.il Guild, not long after hearing some of its members have gone missing (and that Sirius Island, a place these missing members went to has ‘vanished’) and that the local search parties have turned up NOTHING.

they both go to said guild to hopefully comfort the remaining members who are there. To share a moment of giref and provide a helping hand or two.

Ly..on goes with Ju.ra because Lam..ia Scale has pretty strong ties with FT, and so really it’s just to lend a shoulder for these members to lean on if they ever need help or assistance (of which also Blue Pegasus does too).

Nova goes for for a more personal reason, as that even as one of the few independent freelance mages in Fiore (with no guild attachment), she still holds a special place for Fai.ry Tai.l. It was her old guild after all until aspects of her own personal life had to take priority. She still thinks about the people she was growing up with, and how much they meant to her, and still mean to her. She does find herself thinking about them in even the smallest of tranquil moments when she isn’t taking on a freelance job or being hired on the spot.

Anyways, the two meet each other for the first time at the Fairy Tail Guild and try to offer remaining members support and sort out deals as to what they can do to help them if their other members don’t turn up. It’s essentially a moment for people at the guild to take time to grieve and mourn their friends and compatriots.

Ly.on reflects on how he and Gra.y could have fixed their relationship, because even if they are rivals, he still cares about him. I personally headcanon that Gra.y is like the brother Ly.on never had,the two never always saw each other eye to eye, and sometimes there were arguements that could be deemed as petty. Now Ly.on will never gain the opportunity to fix that relationship after finally being given a second chance by his old childhood friend, let alone be able catch up on their relationship.

It particularly hurts him, especially with their last face-to-face communication being the Nirvana Arc, and Gra.y is the reason why La.Mia S.cale are a legitimate guild now, and Ly.on has turned around his life for the better! but now that opportunity to thank Gra.y is gone… and it breaks his heart into pieces, because he can’t make up for lost time.

Nova just misses the guild that she once called home. And she’s been overdue for a ‘proper’ visit (she briefly shows up in the Phantom Lord-Lucy Rescue Arc to fuck some shit up against PL) but she didn’t properly stay around for long. Even if she left at a young age, fa.iry t.ail still said she could return whenever she needed to, because fairy tail always left their doors open to former members to return whenever they need to.

It was a place she once called home, and now is ever more the opportune time to come back home when her family needs her most. However there is an aspect of.. fearing for the guild’s safety. Fai.ry tai.l is unfortunately a guild that other rival guilds love to target and intimidate. Now with their highest and most capable members missing or worse dead, they can’t protect the guild to the extent than they used too. Even when Gildarts came back, he joined the others to Sirius Island. Nova wants to not just support her old guild and guild mates, but to try to protect them too. She is a relatively powerful mage, having cosmic/chaos devil slayer magic, but even then, it won’t do much because other guilds can take advantage of a mourning, grieving fairy tail in other ways aside from magic (I.e: absurd taxes, owed debts, just general financial abuse and bullying).

It’s just an extra layer of salt added to an already angry wound. It’s just unfair that other guilds will target another simply because it’s taking the time to process grief and move on.

During this… sad/melancholic atmosphere at the FT guild, Ly.on and Nova kinda hit it off well. It does start small but later they become more conversation throughout the day there, talking about their connections and relationships to Fairy Tail and it’s members, telling funny stories and just generally enjoying each other’s company. That’s the general starting point of how they meet, but really the way they fall in love is partly due to their shared connection to Fairy Tail and how their experiences with the guild have changed and helped them improve as people.

#awakening lb #i guess it was always going to be the case that my little fe blog became a complaining about fe fandom blog. but #once again i have to say that fanon Lucina sucks and it's very sad that she's flanderised so spectacularly because canon Lucina is good!! #she's a really really really really good character!! she has a very well defined personality and set of values!!!!! #she's kind and thoughtful and serious and can't understand jokes and has horrible aesthetic taste and commits herself fully to action #she doesn't make decisions lightly but she always always carries them through. #she believes there is value in doing unspeakable things to spare others pain so long as she and only she has to bear the consequences #and her view of herself is that she's a cold ruthless pragmatist who's only option is to see her course of action through to the bitter end #while literally EVERYONE ELSE she speaks to adores her for her patience and her kindness and her resolve and the way she always puts others #but no go off about how she's Severa's two dimensional love interest. sure that's much better

#ooh i read this one a while ago let me try to remember what i thought #i think the first third or so when they're just studying the envisioner and yusuf and hayes are falling in love is a bit slow #enjoyed the multiverse-hopping stuff #some of the filmmaker stuff like envisioning the world as a script got a little tedious #well fleshed-out protagonist who feels very realistic and flawed #also i liked yusuf #i have seen at least one review by an autistic reader saying they read him as autistic #the aroace representation felt a little questionable to me because the character in question is very cold/calculating? #didn't expect that there would be so much world-building around the near-future america setting which was interesting #like androids being common and also an indigenous sovereign state #also there's one world with a movie crew stuck on the moon that i thought was super interesting #the alternate realities are all cool #okay BIG SPOILERS NOW #i was kind of unconvinced by the ending #basically the main character is given the choice between saving yusuf's life and letting an asteroid destroy earth in another reality #he picks yusuf and it like 'now to compartmentalize my horrific guilt and live happily with him' #and i was like. bro. you are going to be eaten alive by guilt in a few years #i don't know i wasn't convinced by it!! #would love to hear thoughts from someone else who has also read this book tbh #a fractured infinity #nathan tavares #2023 reads #books #lulu reads a fractured infinity #lulu speaks #lulu reads
