of course i will go to my grave as #1 big lucisev hater and lucisev liking is an immediate blockable offence but i am truly struggling to understand why people are defending it by saying "i like lucisev because of [xyz theoretical elements]" when

this theoretical element is not present in either of the two interactions they do have in DLC and therefore not part of the closest thing they have to "canon" interactions

(1.5 really) they still do not ever talk in the base game not even one single line to each other and while there are some kids who make reference to Lucy in their other supports severa isn't one of them

this theoretical element does not appear in any fanworks, which instead focus on its exact opposite (lucina and severa are uwu cute gfs but WATCH OUT severa has a Bad Attitude so lucina is her ever patient smiling handler)

i don't know! kind of seems like if you like xyz and the establishing body of work for lucisev (because they have no canon interactions save VERY brief lines in two DLC; this is an entirely fandom-made ship) contains the *exact opposite* of xyz; shouldn't you therefore dislike it??

not me tho. i hate it because fandom took both of their individual dynamics with Kjelle and removed Kjelle from the picture because she's uhhh. gnc ? and she's a bit mean to Owain when he's being really fucking annoying? What's more f/f positive and empowering than pretending the canon butch lesbian who is canonically in love with Severa literally does not exist to invent the flattest dullest dynamic between two girls who never talk to each other but they both have long hair and are popular ❤️ peace and love

we were talking about Claude/Sylvain last night and i think the thing that makes it dead in the water for me is that it's a mischaracterisation to say that Claude is flirty. he really is not! he is extremely guarded (understandably!!) and he tries to be the person that he thinks the person he is talking to needs him to be. the only "evidence" that Claude enjoys flirting is his A support with Hilda. Hilda's entire m.o. when talking to men is flirting as manipulation and she's very calculating about how this is deployed. i personally interpret Claude turning her tactics back on her at the culmination of their support chain as him saying "I've paid attention to what you do and I respect you"

why? well, because if he was a habitual, confident flirt, he wouldn't completely flounder in his Petra support. Petra all but tells him she wants to marry him and he misses it completely. because he's not operating in his defensive reflection / projection mode where he tries to bounce the other person back onto themself, he's not even thinking about romantic intent as a possibility

Sylvain flirts for attention and as a form of self-harm; every sensation he's pursuing has him and his needs at the centre of it (to be regarded and to then be degraded because all he's good for is his crest). Claude keeps his feelings at such a distance from everything he does i dont think he could identify them if he had to. there's a fundamental incompatibility there
