Finished playing The devil in me and that was definitely a game. it had graphics and sound, and you could control some characters in it.
#dark pictures anthology#the devil in me#wow that was disappointing#the worst of the anthology by far#most of it was just boring#the characters were bland af#i could not get myself to care for any of them#the prompt to kill the dog... what were they thinking#the ending was so stupid and it kept getting worse#i was hopeful to the end#thinking they may have a plot twist at the end that's gonna help recontextualize the entire story#and make me go... maybe this game was a drag and completely uninteresting but this revelation makes me wanna play it again#i get what they were going for with the main antagonist#sort of michael myers meets jigsaw but like#i hate the trope of the villain being unbeatable#despite you know seeing him get turned into puree by a boat#how is the main villain so incompetent and also a complete deus ex machina at the same time#the characters are so stupid too#it seems like they wanted to die#when the guy falls from the building and kate goes and picks up the hat#girl what#the only scary thing is the bad ending#what was the point of the traps? at the end he just wanted to kill them#but he also helped them escape at various points?#maybe if i need to read through every collectable to fully understand his motivations#i guess it could have been worse#it could have been a robot killer or something#ngl i was hoping Erin was gonna turn out to be the bad guy#it would have been so interesting and maybe make you think about the segments where you play as her#the fact that they had to explain each character's arc at the end was so stupid

Hi Puff! Idk if anyone has asked you this yet but what are your thoughts on the god of war game series? Are they actually more "accurate" about the greek mythology then LO? xD
oh lord, I'm def not a good person to ask about this question because I haven't played through all the original God of War games (though it makes me laugh to think about them because watching my oldest brother play the first game when I was like 7 years old was the first time I'd ever seen video game boobies LOL) but considering it's just a hack and slash game in which you brutally murder the gods... ima give it a big noooo on that one LOL it's about as accurate as LO in that it's more about spectacle and drama than it is about actually being accurate to the myths they're based on lmaoo
As for the Norse series of games, I actually HAVE played both God of War 2018 and Ragnarok and loved them both, though I'm not as well versed in Norse mythology so I also can't say if what they take from Norse myth is accurate. Obviously I know that Atreus/Loki has zero relation to fictional character Kratos from Greece and I have basic understanding of general concepts like Yggdrasil and the nine realms among other things like that, but the finer details regarding the stories of the characters themselves I'm not as brushed up on. Hella great storytelling though and I appreciate the lengths they went to to make it feel like a Norse-myth-inspired environment, even down to the vocabulary and terms used.
Just like with LO, you shouldn't be taking any of what God of War does or says at face value. If you like the games (or LO), use it as an opening hook to get more into the actual myths if they interest you. But definitely don't use them as any sort of credible source LOL
Now that I'm typing out my thoughts on this though, I think the biggest difference between GoW and LO (one that makes GoW far superior to it) is that the creators of GoW never once led their audience to believe that they were more than what they were, a hack and slash video game inspired by specific myths. What you see is what you get with GoW, but LO - and Rachel - constantly feel like they're actually trying to be taken seriously and that's what makes it all the worse when their storytelling is godawful and the amount of actual "myth" they have in the comic amounts to as much as a Family Guy cutaway gag. Just completely directionless and uninspired to the point you wonder why it's even an Greek myth retelling to begin with. At least GoW fully immerses itself in the myths their games are based on and has a shitload of fun with it, with LO it'll just source some copy pasted Princeton document or lazily tell some mythological metaphor that has nothing to do with the overarching plot so that it can remind you "hey this is a Greek myth retelling!" before getting back to its bland Keeping Up with the Kardashians romance. The mythological "inspiration" in LO feels more like tired lip service at this point rather than actual inspiration, which is really bitterly ironic considering Rachel used to tote around calling herself a "folklorist" and claiming that everyone else's knowledge of Greek myth compared to hers was "basic af".
TL ; DR: The biggest difference between GoW and LO in their retellings is humility IMO.

Ok Mattel I fixed your problem cause seriously wtf was that. I would've loved this set if it wasn't so lacking in style and looking so wrong in so many places. Like first of all Tiffany's dress is ugly af and it's also boring as shit she looks too much like barbie ngl. Her hair is too long she doesn't have black roots, those earrings don't fit her, her eyebrows are too thick and her eyeshadow is not black it's purple everyone knows this. The only things that are fine that don't need to be changed are her fishnets and boots. Chucky's overalls I think look too long for a monster high doll the girl needed help so I fixed her up. I got inspired a little bit by bishojou's versions of Chucky and Tiffany were the girl version of Chucky just had a short overall dress. And I have her pigtails with blue bows and red buttons. I also felt that Chucky's hair was too long and just lacked a certain personality. Her face was too bland and too tan so I basically just bleached her and added more scars. We all know that every iconic monster high doll has interesting earrings so I gave Chucky knife earrings and Tiffany heart of Damballah earrings. The same goes for their shoes too I changed Chucky's shoes from a wedge to a knife heel and gave Tiffany a cigarette stud for her shoes instead of that lipstick stud that's unidentifiable. And I also gave Tiffany fishnet gloves and a studded belt as well as a choker. Chucky didn't need the choker Tiffany did. Does Mattel not study these characters before creating these dolls or what because I feel like fans create better doll concept's than Mattel. Idk you tell me, which looks better to you. I think my design kicks ass

Items of Faith..... (Spoilers below, obviously)
....was enjoyable to me, but also overall mid. This was the story I was looking forward to the most, and I still liked a lot about it. But here's what I felt like they didn't do correctly:
1-This is supposed to be Chu Yao's event, but this feels like Farewell Fireworks part 2. I completely understand that these stories are supposed to be like a giant, continuous one, but Chu Yao felt like a side character in his own event 😭 he should've gotten more screen time, and the farewell fireworks characters (especially Su Jue, who has already been featured in SEVERAL events) should've gotten less. Don't get me wrong, I love her, but I feel like I'm going to get tired of seeing her soon if this keeps up. Let new espers be the main characters of their own events please!!!
2- Speaking of Chu Yao, I love love LOVE HIM (yall know this way too well already) but this game is really starting to overuse the twist villain formula. Gaius in the new main story, Yalina in Inescapable Fate, that one guy from farewell fireworks, and the editor from Exposé.... along with Chu Yao, they've all been twist/surprise antagonists. And it's getting really old. I immediately knew from act 1, part 1 that Chu Yao was a twist/surprise antagonist. It was predictable af and it made me feel like there was no tension in the story, because I could easily guess what would happen next. Did I hate it? No.....but I felt like they could've given us something much better.
3-Just like Fu Shi's story, this one had an overall underwhelming ending. It was really cool seeing Raven and Chu Yao talk to each other after so many years of being apart and having differences with their ideology, but everything else felt bland. Ikki leaving the shadow decree surprised me (in a good way) but tbh I think I'm only going to remember the raven convo when thinking of the ending of this event. Nothing else really left an impact on me as a reader.
Ok, now for the stuff that I liked:
The 👏art 👏is👏 GORGEOUS! 🗣️
All the art in this game is great, but these in particular really stood out to me! They illustrated Chu Yao so well, and it makes me so happy that we can see him use his powers AND see him in his more vulnerable moments
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another thing I have an appreciation for is the dynamic between Yu Ran, Su Jue, and Yu Xu. I know I mentioned they should've had less screen time, but I'll admit this: the screen time they got was used WELL. They were still fun to watch, and it's really sweet to see them care for each other, especially when Yu Ran got kidnapped.
Overall, this event was ok enough, even if it had very noticeable flaws. Chu Yao 100% carried the whole thing, and I enjoyed seeing him and learning more about him. Anyways, I'm gonna go back to making more Chu Yao fanart too since his birthday's coming up, but after that.....I think it's time I make OC art again and take another Dislyte art break.
And thanks for reading this giant post, I appreciate it ❤️

One Piece Live Action Review:
I'm probably super late to the One Piece party but I have never seen the Anime and I just finally got done watching the show on Netflix and holy bachanga I think I have a new favorite show. Also the sword guy Zoro is so freaking cool and so dark & broody 😍😍😍 Anyways incredibly attractive Zoro aside. I have fallen in love with this show and I hope they make more 😊. I wanna talk about the story but I feel like that would be spoilers so I'm not going to ruin for anyone that hasn't watched it. There is also this cute af pink haired Marine named Koby that has an interesting friendship with this guy I absolutely hated at first named Helmeppo, but he grew on me and went through a rather surprising character development twords the end. Oh and Koby is also cute af like I want more of his character too. Cute little lost puppy look all the time but so sweet 😍. They have an amazing cast with fun characters, the makeup and effects are very well done, I love the set designs (especially the lair of the fish people) The story also has some deep meaningful lessons and morals in it along with some beautiful scenes of friendship. There was no shortness of brutality in this show too and I didn't expect, like blood and guts and people getting their heads smashed in or loosing appendage.
Tumblr media
Show Score
Acting 4 / 5
Although the cast did do amazingly, there were several time I found myself thinking, "This character is kinda bland or not giving it their all." Honestly I think some of them might still be getting in the swing of things so I look forward to season 2 to see if they get better.
Story 5 / 5
The story was quite beautiful and very engaging, I loved the morals behind the story and the bonding the characters displayed over time after meeting their spunky and charismatic new pirate captain and friend. I also found myself very emotional at certain parts and although I cried, it was worth the tears.
Effects & Action 5 / 5
Holy bachanga the action is insane. The fight scenes were very well choreographed and the added effects for the fights just made them even more exciting. I found myself actually rooting and cheering for Luffy and his crew.
My score for this show: 4.7 / 5
In conclusion this show is definitely a must watch and if you really wanna make it authentic, don't watch it on Netflix 😊🏴‍☠️

Rating Every Danganronpa Trial (That I've Played.)
Please keep in mind I've only played THH and SDR2 and I am kind of biased lol. Also, this is a long rant so buckle your seatbelts... or something.
Last Place:
"CELESTIA LUDENBURG GODDAMIT!"
THH Trial 3: I hated this chapter. The search was too long, Robo-Justice plot was annoying af, I hate that Hifumi believed Celeste about Ishimaru, Kiyondo was a useless plotline (I still love his character tho) and Kiyotaka could've had kick-ass character development like Fuyuhiko got in SDR2. Instead he just... died. I hated that Celeste lost her cool, the trial was annoying, and I hated it. 1/10.
"Kyoko's a ghost!!!"
THH Trial 5: I hated this dumb plot. Shortest trial in all of Danganronpa, and yet it felt like it went the longest. Don't care about the victim, debated whether Kyoko was a ghost for... a good 15 minutes? People are dumb, the investigation kind of annoys me. The only good thing was Owada's "Crazy Diamond" pick-axe in the shed. I wouldn't re-play it at all. Boring. 2/10.
"None of us know what happened to the world, but maybe she knows..."
SDR2 Trial 6: This trial was decent, but probably not as re-playable as it could be. I liked Hajime in this trial, but I feel like we needed a bit more to go off of, playing it I didn't understand that everybody was alive. Junko fanservice was bad. Felt really dragged on, but important points were not included enough (E.G: Kamakura) I don't get Junkos' motive this time but the remnant thing was pretty cool. I would replay it, definitely not my favourite. 5/10.
"We're all remnants..."
THH Trial 6: This was also an alright trial. A bit too much Junko fanservice but I liked Genocider Syo in this trial, she was funny. I liked Junko's plan but she was quite a bland mastermind. I would've rathered Togami or Kyoko but that wouldn't make sense for the plot. Hiro did nothing in the trial again... I kind of enjoyed this one, but last trials are known to be bad so this could've been a bit higher if Enoshima could've had a better motive than "Despair, despair, I'm bored, kill my sister." Re-playable by a slim amount. 5.3/10
"I did it all... for my beloved!"
SDR2 Trial 3: Chapter three trials are known to be worse than Chp.6 because the culprit doesn't need to kill two people, but they do, they get caught, and they spam F in the chat and scream about "stupid, not fair, because, apologise" etc. I find this trial isn't as bad as everybody says, the search was confusing, Hiyoko dying was funny, and I laughed. Mikan couldn't possibly set up her locked-room murder in time and then meet Hajime in the Music Venue car park. This chapter had so many loopholes (E.G: How did Hiyoko even die?) but I liked it more than the other ones. Weak execution, but great Despair Disease motive. Might reluctantly re-play for nostalgia. 5.5/10.
"You.... all killed her! You pushed Sakura into a corner! She died because of you!"
THH Trial 4: I'm going to get hate for this one... but... I'm not a big fan of this trial. I am biased, yes, but everybody is, and this is my respectable opinion. The investigation was decent, and so was the discovery. I find that Aoi trying to kill everybody was smart but dumb at the same time, if that makes sense. I kind of got bored after THH after a certain trial (no spoilers for the rest of this list) I loved the Alter-Ego twist, and Sakura's note was great. Junko messing with the suicide note was not cool though. I would replay it but it still isn't my favourite. 6.3/10
"Hey! You can't say that without any evidence! This is bullshit! You're stupid! Stupid, stupid, stupid!"
"Heh, I guess I just have pretty good intuition!"
THH Trial 1: Okay, I LOVE THIS TRIAL- I really love this trial. When somebody says "Danganronpa" THIS is the trial I think of. It isn't the best, and it's a very short chapter compared to SDR2 Chapter 5, but oh my gosh. I love it. I liked Sayaka a lot, and I also loved "Fake Junko" before I knew she was Mukuro. I thought that Leon was really cool too. I liked the introductory trials a lot, and this one is amazing! The series starts with a bang, and you realise "Oh shit this isn't as colourful and fun as I thought." The only reason this trial isn't higher is because it was obvious and easy. When I first played THH, I admit I didn't even notice 11037 on the wall and was stuck on the investigation for like... an hour... *disappointed sigh from me* but upon re-play it's easier than I remember. I know it's for Japanese speaking users who wouldn't know Leon/11037 in English. Highly re-playable, good twists, good introductory trial. 7/10
"Good bye my four dark devas of destruction..."
SDR2 Trial 4: I'm also probably going to get backlash for this opinion, but I still LOVE this chapter. I love the island, I love the motive, I love the strawberry and grape houses, and the elevator. I love the Hajime octagon meme! But, the trial was just DIFFICULT. I actually had a laptop infront of me the whole time with the answers up- I loved Mechamaru and the Sakura statue. I love Gundham and his hampsters. A great execution, a great trial room. Silly Fuyuhiko was the only reason Gundham got caught. I like that we got to switch between Nagito and Hajime's POVs and the Russian-Roulette scene. My only issue is that I'm dumb. That's it. 8/10, very re-playable.
"P-please Peko! Don't go! I NEED YOU! Don't leave me!"
SDR2 Trial 2: Okay, we are up to the final 4 in trials, and this one takes 4th place! I love it so much! I have ALMOST nothing bad to say about this trial at all! The relationship between Fuyuhiko and Peko was shown to beautifully during this trial. The execution was amazing, the music was absolutely a banger (as always) and oh my gosh. This trial made me so sad and emotional. Very smartly set out murder plan. Enough on the trial until a little bit later, my thoughts on the island are great. It's probably my favourite island in the game. The only thing bringing this chapter down a rank is the fanservice... THE DINER SCENE. If you've played you know what I mean... anyway, the only other thing bringing this chapter down is the motive. Twilight Murder Syndrome was a game I didn't care about. I didn't care about Sato or Natsumi. I didn't care about Girls A through E or Guy F. It got too confusing and annoying and I had to write down who each character was because they kept reffering to Mikan as Girl A. It got annoying, but I enjoyed this chapter and would replay it more than once. 8.5/10
In third place we have...
"AVRIL LAVIIIIINNNNGGGGGEEEE"
SDR2 Trial 1: Uh... even I'm surprised that a guy calling us "Avril Lavinge" got third place, but here we are. I don't care much for Teruteru or Imposter/Fake Byakuya, and the execution was a little bit silly. I loved this chapter, we got introduced to the characters and their aspects much better than in THH in the man hall, it helped us explore the island and learn the new locations/controls as well as hitting us with nostalgia. I have nothing bad to say about this chapter at all. I liked that Byakuya strangely tried to take charge (which was unlike what he did in THH) and I think that his dying resulted in Hajime realising he had to get his shit together and step up. Loved the references to the first game. Great humane motive, great chapter, great fun, not too hard not too easy. I loved this trial and chapter alot. 9/10.
In second place we have...
"Yep! You got it right!. I'm just going to confess, I'm the traitor."
SDR2 Trial 5: Yeah uh... I'M SO BIASED THAT THIS ISN'T FIRST, BECAUSE THIS IS TRULY THE BEST TRIAL OUT OF THE FIRST GAMES BUT WHATEVER THIS IS MY OPINION AND MY POLL HERE WE GO!
I loved this trial. Nothing bad to say. The chapter was amazing, the new island was great, the bomb thing. Awesome! The traitor being revealed? Awesome! I cried! NAGITO DYING SO BRUTALLY? AWESOME!!! I have nothing bad to say, and I loved this trial SO SO SO much! Hajime and the others in denial about Chiaki being the traitor was such a strong plot. I wish that the last trial of SDR2 was as good as this one, but it isn't :(. Let's start with Nagito COOKING. He absolutely ate, fire, luck, the whole plan was amazing! I don't know how he or the DR2 team came up with that, but whoever did NEEDS a raise bro! I think about this trial so much, I'm so dam passionate about it. The most brutal body discovery? Check! The saddest execution? Check! The best execution music? Check! The craziest body search and evidence search? CHECK! I loved this trial so so so so so so so much, and it deserves to be number one. Fully replayable, amazing, elite! I have no issues with it. 9.5/10
And... first place... omfg-
I love this trial so much. I can't even describe. When somebody says Danganronpa, THIS is the line I think of.
"JUST SHUT UP YOU SON OF A BITCH! SAY THAT AGAIN, I DARE YOU!"
"I'm sorry I couldn't keep my promise. From one man to another..."
Peak Danganronpa (In my opinion). I agree, THH is the weakest of all the Danganronpa games in characters and visually. But if every trial cooked like this one, goddamit I WISH-
THH Trial 2.
I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS CHAPTER!
Let's start: The motive, amazing. I loved it. Imagine your most embarrassing secret. "Nobody would kill over that" you'd be surprised. I loved the bromance between Ishimaru and Owada, and the sauna scene was just hilarious. The chapter body discovery was amazing, Byakuya framing Toko for no reason JUST to get her secret out was amazing (asshole move, but amazing) Celeste not mentioning the track-jacket colour... the emotion in their voices. The body search was fun! The new floor was fun! The free time events I chose were fun! I love Mondo, I love Kiyotaka, I love Chihiro. Another humane motive. I got chills hearing Kiyotaka's voice acting. CHILLS. Even though the execution story is terrible, and a bit goofy, just imagine being liquified... your body turns to mush, your internal organs fail you... your body eats itself and crushes itself, bones and all. GODDAMIT IT'S AMAZING. I also loved Syo in this trial. Who gave Byakuya the right to be such an ass though? I love it so much, I have nothing bad to say about it. I will replay it OVER AND OVER AND OVER I LOVE IT SO MUCH! 10/10
Anyway, sorry for this long-ass shit-post. Hope you enjoyed reading my opinions. I'm bored so I'm going to rank executions next, with shorter paragraphs. This includes the executions in V3, for those of you who love Strand of Agony and Der Flohwalzer!

I have a theory about the reason people(myself included) want to make Reader not entirely human or better/stronger/different than human, can be:
a)we don't like being us, humans.
b)you know those animes where the mc is the most bland, boring, average character, but turns out to be extremely powerful, or gets an extremely strong abylities(by accident, coincidence, chosen one, their loved one is gonna die, etc), gets the attention of all the powerful gorgeus people around them(more often than not because the mc has an ability they are interested in).
And we kinda internalized that being just a human can't be all. There must be something more. A human can't be just a human.
But that's just a theory, a reader theory. Goodnight.
(This got longer than I wanted it to be KEKW- But I can't help it, I talk a lot if it's something I have personal experience with.)
Oh yea no, the those reasons why peeps wanna avoid being human has been clear to me for years. There's way more reasons than that, of which most come down to personal preference. I've glanced at and avoided enough fics since at least 2017 where the Reader is some form of hybrid, god or something that isn't human or isn't unspecified. Just because my own personal preference lies more with reading about a Reader who is actually a regular human on earth, just trying to get by daily in life.
Thing is that if you read a fanfic where the Reader has literally no other description other than "normal mortal human", then there's nothing more to it. Visuals are up to the person behind the screen, besides the fact that the character is a regular human. It's always lowkey painful for me personally seeing peeps try to for example slap wings onto themselves, and pretend like they didn't just read they're supposed to be human. While it's fine if they wanna fantasize about it and ignore any balancing or realism rules privately, the AU is already imbalanced af enough in canon when certain aspects come into play.
The "what if" questions about the Reader being anything other than a human with no magical or racial bonus abilities are immediately seen as nothing more than hypotheticals that I personally would rather like to avoid talking about. My response to them all would just be "No". Because honestly, unless I can see something as an actual possibility in my works and it's actually logcial, like the idea of a Reader being a cannibal as well as, I'd rather keep hypotheticals away and not treat them as if they were possible in canon. Which is why I just straight up am all like "No" at those instead of responding with my own headcanons.
I'm just not comfortable with people trying to force changes on pre-established parts/rule sets in the world building. That's also part of why the Judge is in control of basically the board and its rules, making sure they're being upheld and kept as much in balance as possible. Eight powerful servants is already way more than the AU was supposed to have initially.
However, I am open about the idea of different upbringings of the Reader and how they became the Master and all that, because that is literally part of the philosophy seen in the AU. The idea that all humans are different in the way they act, live, see the world, and interpret things based on their own experiences. You don't have to suddenly be turned into something you are not, but wish to be seen as by others to get along with the people around you, or even be a leader to them. In this case the champions. That's why I usually respond to people talking about either personal experiences they've made themselves, or if it's about a very much possible scenario for a person to be in, or if it's about some condition or disability.
The champions are moreso seen as an extension of such a scenario. They don't just fall heads over heels for the Reader overnight either, as they can also just remain forever platonic. The experience made to get to anything more than that relies on the Master's actions, behavior, etc. with each individual champion. Which is why my responses feel repetetive regarding the reactions of the champions. I can't go into detail on those general reactions as everyone's relationship and expeiences with them would be different.
The AU isn't based around just one Reader, but a collective. If one is non-human, everyone would need to be non-human, more specifically the same species, due to the borrowed soul being that of a human. The only thing that's the same for all the Masters is just the human soul, since that's the thing that lets them find the Reader in the AU and feel connected to them. The soul of the Reader is already powerful enough in that regard, even if it's just mainly for the connection and acting like a tracker for both the champions and the Judge. (Unless an oopsie happens and the Reader accidentally ends up turning into something like an insect the others have a harder time finding as the soul wouldn't be noticeable enough, of course. But it's a rare moment.)
The Reader's soul in my previous works in Undertale actually worked similarly, but was altered a bit in ESAU for the experiment being held in the AU.

The 1995 mortal kombat movie shang tsung!!!!!! *intense incoherent screams of joy*
🥺💖🥰😫💕
❤🐉💚🐍💀❤🐉💚🐍💀❤🐉💚🐍💀❤🐉
Ok look some things in the 95 movie is dated, stinky, and omfg why did they do that?! Buuuuuuuut. BUT! i still feel it holds up and truly captured the essence of mortal kombat. And not many other versions. Can hold up. Not counting any games. Other mk media outside the games. Very few come close. Because it's that fucking iconic. If it wasn't for this movie. We wouldn't have a bop fire of a fucking theme song. No guy screaming viciously "MORTAL KOMBAT!!!" No amazing reappearance of tagawa shang tsung. No mk11. Hell no futher games. It would have faded into obscurity. So the success of this movie. Laid the foundation of future games, and mk media. So pay your fucking respects! *stares intensely at 21 movies jaxs actor for dissing raidens actor in the 95 for no fucking real reason because he wanted 15min of fame, not even talking about how game devs have been racist to his own character jax, guys just dumb to me fr. Sorry i dont like him,his attitude sucks* (srry bout that but tho the 21 movie reboot is bland the actors were ok. Cept jaxs actor. He sucks but mostly cuz his attitude. Sorry i dont like people like that. But this ain't bout him)
Anyways. Shang tsung in the 95 movie (aside from the cringe af 90s villain i have to simp after the only girl character in the roster cuz kitana is just exposition. Ugh. God that's fucking awful. And also ooc. But whatever its the 90s.) shang tsung is boss af here.
Bending the rules. Being such a gracious host. Sassy, sexy, suave, powerful.
Like god damn shang is there anything you can't do?!
.....well.....besides having a hard time taking down one shaolin bromie, liu kang. Oof. But that's besides the point.
(Then again liu has always had plot armor and script convenience to him. Thats another oof.)
But yes. The 95 movie shang. Go watch it. Ignore the cringe shit with sonya. Ignore the dated cgi. And ignore the 90s cheese(or dont if thats your thing) but please for the love of god dont sleep on this damn movie. Dont sleep on 95 shang tsung. Pay you fucking dues!
💀🐉❤🐍💚💀🐉❤🐍💚💀🐉❤🐍💚💀🐉
Well fellow simps thats all the shang appreciation posts for today. I might do more kontent later. Enjoy

Stuff like this always make me laugh. Because at the end of the day:
Just what is "problematic ship"?
Now, on one side you have clearly messed up ships that involve incest, age gaps where one is a minor, grooming, any type of abuse, kidnapping etc. etc. - we all agree those are aspects that make ship "problematic"
But then, is ship between 20 and 30 year olds problematic? What if they've known each other for years but only started dating when younger one was 20? How about 25 and 45 year olds? How do I know someone with "dni if you ship problematic stuff" in bio won't bother me for something like that? How about 16 and 19? My best friend had that age gap with her bf back in the day, they're still together and one of healthiest couples I even had luck of knowing. And yet there are people online who adamantly insist such age gap make relationship inherently abusive cuz power imbalance induced by age difference. And yet I've seen a relationship between 15 and 18 year old where 18 year old guy had to escape from this possessive jealous irrational 15yo girl
What about all the action TV series or animes where characters are on opposite sides and tried to kill one another? Enemies to lovers trope? Or if just one side attempted to murder or harm other? That's still abuse right? Or if A murdered B's family member? Would you call shipper an apologist? Or if one of characters is a bigot? Is any fan automatically a bigot? What if two characters didn't have abusive relationships but mistreated someone else? What if they had a bad fallout and one character psychologically suffered because of indirect actions of another? Where is the line what amount of 'abuse' is tolerable in a ship?
What about those fandom made found family tropes where 'son' is 21 and 'mom' 29, do we get called pedos for shipping two adults that ain't even related but fandom views them as such? How about shipping characters that appear to be asexual or aromantic in canon? Do ace shippers get called aphobic for that? How about two characters that were shipped for years but only at the ending of the series author reveals they're related? Should we stop shipping them, delete all fics and arts of them? Or when both characters are 16 and there's fanart or fanfic of them doing something other than holding hands and kissing lightly (since y'know, kids those ages do experiment with each other irl)? Do we throw half of every shonen fandom for daring to ship underage characters? What about immortal characters? Who are they 'allowed' to get shipped with? Or if characters ages are never mentioned so we don't really know if they're around 17 or 23?
I could go on and on but naming every possible scenario isn't the point. Point is that for almost every ship in media that isn't made for small kids and isn't bland af there will be something "problematic" about the ship if you're persistent to dig deep enough. How do I know if you will? When I see "if you ship problematic ships dni" even if I don't have any ships that fit first category of ships I mentioned, I still don't know if you'd view one of "normal" ships I have as "problematic" because of xyz and attack me for that

I guess I'll give my Sonic Prime thoughts now.
Yeah the show is pretty ehh and honestly I don't feel like trying to write a deep dive into why right now, so this is just my ramblings.
Many people have already criticized how poorly paced season 3 was, how bad Thorn's episodes are, what that ending even was (seriously, where did Shadow even take the Prism...? Did everyone else make it back to their worlds okay...? WTF was the outcome with Nine?) I agree with that so I'm not gonna repeat it all.
The premise itself had more potential, but it's just so...generic. I know, the idea of Sonic traveling across a multiverse of other canons was never going to happen, but the alternative of Sea World™ and Jungle World™ were so bland it hurts.
I wonder if part of the visual blandness is from the 3D. I know, as a show and not a movie, it has a very different budget, but I believe Boom had better and more lively environments. It's like the entire set modeling budget went to New Yoke while everywhere else got completely shafted.
Which...why was New Yoke the only place that got an Eggman? Er...Eggmen? Like I know the idea of there only being one Sonic is because he broke the Prism, Shadow doesn't have counterparts because he wasn't in the cave, but neither was Big? Like happy to see Big, but also I'm wondering where the consistency is.
Though all the counterparts are so stereotypical it hurts. I think Dread was the one I found the most compelling, though maybe I just like pirates. Also is it bad when Chaos Sonic showed up and even Sonic was like "do you EVER shut up?" all I could think about was IDW like that guy was ANNOYING AF
As for Sonic, he is VERY vocal in this show. If he's not talking, he's grunting or screaming. It's like the audio department didn't know what to do if a character wasn't making noise, like YouTuber who constantly uses jumpcuts to hopefully keep your attention. That's what it felt like. In a cinematic story, sometimes silence is better, but nope! Sonic is falling again! He got hit! He's running really fast! It's like they use the same 3 high energy sound clips for the whole show and I just got tired of it. It's not the VA's fault, this is entirely on the audio mixing/direction and it's only really a problem with Sonic because he's made out to be a clumsy, lovable and meme-worthy dork.
Sonic himself really is the biggest problem for me. Even putting aside how OOC he is, his shtick is just...tiresome. He's the idiotic embodiment of stereotypical ADHD. He's designed to be marketable as a silly internet blorbo rather than a compelling character. It's kind of hard to look past how the show heralds him for his emotional talks bringing everyone together when it's so...shallow.
There are some parts of the show I found compelling, like I know many disagree with this, but honestly? Shadow was the best part. Sonic and Shadow fights are cool and I liked how he had a solid reason to be angry. Not like Boom where he just shows up to kick Sonic's teeth in because he can. No, Sonic broke reality and Shadow is pissed about that! Trying to simply fix it himself when he's been watching Sonic stumble through all these Shatterspaces going "huh aren't you my friends?" eight times like an absolute buffoon tracks to me. Maybe if Sonic was written competently I would think it's silly, but if Sonic is going to be this dumb, yeah Shadow was right to try and take the reins. Although I realize the biggest reason people like him is because Sonadow, I'm just happy to see him not being a mean edgelord.
I don't really have more to say about the series than this because it's just a bowl of nothing soup. I can see an attempt to blend action and comedy, similar to Boom, but the jokes aren't funny and the action isn't exciting. Boom recognized its strong suit was comedy and focused more on that while Prime just slowly got worse.
Legit the only thing that improves over the course of the series is the overuse of flashbacks, thankfully that's relegated mostly to season 1, but everything else just goes downhill. The pacing suffers, dialogue gets repeated at agony and Prism Sonic wasn't even made interesting.
The conflicts aren't good, the slapstick is bad and honestly the best joke in the series is when they all had to keep pausing and ducking under the laser in episode 2. The whole thing is just so...forgettable.
I think at some point in a year or two, after I get through all the other Sonic cartoons, I'll rewatch Prime and see if I change my mind at all. Though for now, I'm glad it's finally over.

Scream Hottakes (Or coldtakes idc)
I don't like the idea of Sidney and Mark Kincaid from Scream 3 getting together and starting a family, they didn't have any good or interesting chemistry together other than the one sense at the police station. but other than that, they're not interesting together. I wish they had come up with a better reason why Gale and Dewey broke up in Scream (2022). Dewey breaking up with Gale because he didn't like NY was stupid. What they could've done was the reason they broke up because Dewey wanted to start a family, but Gale was too much into her work again or was afraid to, and Dewey had enough and decided to leave her. It's probably not the best, but It's better than "I hated NY, so I divorced my wife and moved back to Woodsboro".
Billy and Stu are the only Ghostfaces I actually like. the rest of either fine, mid, or bad. (The worse are Jill and Amber) Sam, Terra, and the core four are mid - Sam is uninteresting character, the whole "daughter of Billy Loomis" thing was stupid, her having this "Killer gene" is also fucking stupid, everything about Sam is stupid, and (No offence to the actress) but her performance was stale AF. I hope they recon that daughter of Billy Loomis crap. - Terra was fine at first but I just find her annoying at time, especially in Scream VI - I don't like Mindy, she's comes off as so smug, obnoxious, and a smartass...she just annoying character. - Chad is....fine Ig but he's kinda bland. nothing really much to say Scream (2022) overall is just trash tbh. the good parts were Gale's slight character growth (Which gets ruined in Scream VI) and seeing Sidney as a Milf. Scream VI was also pretty mid. - Minus 10 points for no Milf Sidney. I hope Scream 7 isn't like "Oh ghostface kinaps Sidney's kids. so Sid, Gale, and the core four have to save the day and stop ghostface YAAAAY" zzzzzzzzzzz, predictable ah storyline. I wouldn't mind Stu returning, I'm not a HUGE fan of it but I would be fine with it. as long as he's the true final ghostface.

My thoughts on 'the cursed heart' book 1
hii I just remembered this book exists and I'd like to share some opinions. Just a warning this post contains spoilers and my writing is messy af as this is more of a rant so i apologise in advance lol. I haven't read the second book yet just fyi.
Seeing the shit everyone said about this book I was honestly expecting another smutty trash like the nanny affair but they don't even kiss until chapter 9. I think the slowburn and the sexual tension was done decently well. I thought this was a sex slave kind of situation the way everyone was talking about it but its more of a "I saved your life so you'll work for me to repay your debts" situation. doesn't really make it any better but I guess its not as bad as sex slave. The whole BDSM shit was...questionable. I don't know what's so hard to understand about the fact that BDSM IS CONSENSUAL. IF YOU GUYS DON'T TALK ABOUT IT AND ESTABLISH BOUNDARIES BEFOREHAND ITS NOT BDSM ITS ABUSE. Just fyi these options are avoidable but I just think its inappropriate to call this BDSM.
The art is GORGEOUS and I love the little story book sequences you have for the character's background information. I ADORE the side characters like longclaw and sir monty have my heart. The idea for the book was definitely interesting. I liked the sun and moon court concept and the fae. It had potential but just like all the books choices has been putting out it just sort of fell flat. I really like the names too. I know they might be little too JK-Rowling-Cho-chang-ass-names but idk I find it cute how the sun court members are radiance, lustre, blaze, gleam etc. the book has a really nice aesthetic and fae are beautiful. The outfits are stunning as well. LEAF IS THE BEST PART OF THIS BOOK.
Kieran is honestly pretty mid. I don't find them that interesting I think they're just bland. I guess that could've been on purpose because they don't have a heart and stuff but I believe they could've done so much better.
I don't like how the fae are mostly left unnamed. That just made the sun court's betrayal fall flat because I don't even know these bitches so why would it hurt that they betrayed me? like first of all that shit was so predictable and second of all when you write a betrayal you'd want it to come from a character the reader really likes and is attached to so when they betray us it will hurt and just make you feel things but because we knew very little about about them I was just like "woahhhh womp womp I'm so hurt totallyyyyy didn't see this coming you got me dude" *pretends to be shocked*.
I think the it would've been much better if they pulled a prince Aerin from BOLAS kinda route with Radiance like maybe he and the other fae sneak in at night to visit mc, they grow close and he's treated as a love interest THEN he betrays mc. That would've made much more of an impact and then it would've made sense as to why mc was so trusting when they handed him their protection charm thingy to him. Honestly I find radiance much more interesting than Kieran.
Mc is.....a dumbass to put it lightly. I'm sorry but they're so stupid and they don't even have any growth by the end. I hate the "this character's only trait is being kind so they're dumb" trope. like first of all being kind isn't a fucking personality and idk crazy thought but maybe just maybe you can be kind and rational?? like why is every kind mc so dumb and lacks critical thinking skills. yea so didn't love mc either they were just bland.
My thoughts are kind of all over the place right now (they always are) so maybe ill add more stuff later but that's all for now. Thank you so much for reading my rant <33

It's also annoying when someone makes a post on how it's sad people are so heteronormative they don't see Naruto and Sasuke's love and then some Sakura stan comes out of the woods to the reply section and goes "umm acshuallyy I'm a bisexual woman and I don't ship them! Just because I ship sasusaku/narusaku (sometimes just one or both) doesn't mean I'm homophobe!" like okay thank you for your contribution. So you are a bisexual woman with a bad taste. Not sure why we needed to know this but ok.
Lol. Don't take those ones so seriously anon because it is known that fans would say anything to justify their crappy taste. A lot of these so called homosexual or bisexual people aren't really that. They are straight but pretend to be otherwise just to prove a silly point. Cuz it's the internet, we can say anything and get away with it, no? Who's gonna check?
Like no, I refuse to believe that someone who has experienced ostracization or ridicule from society or their peer groups for being of a non heteronormative sexuality would ship someone like Sasuke or Naruto with someone so bland, stereotypical and prejudiced as Sakura whose understanding of a person is surface level and skin deep af. Who discriminates against people just because they are different from the norm. Such as Lee or Naruto. Like no. Someone who is so insensitive so as to mock an orphan in front of another orphan and who compares an orphan's misfortunes with her own very shallow ones is someone who lives life with a very limited understanding of the world. Someone who lives a privileged life, someone who takes her quality of life for granted. Someone who likes and rates people on the basis of their looks and popularity.
People who feel different from the norm or are made to feel abnormal because they don't conform to the social norms are naturally sensitive to others' misfortunes or tragedies or struggles. They are much more sensitive towards external stimuli because what heterosexual people can easily take for granted, they can't. Heterosexuality is so normalised to the exclusion of everything else, the entire world caters to them. It's like gay or bi people, or those different from the norm, are outliers living in their world. It becomes second nature for such a person to think about everything, examine and second guess every gesture and expression, to be able to find a single moment of understanding, without being judged. It's a daily battle. Especially in a heteronormative society. They are able to empathize with the less fortunate because they are able to see what others don't.
Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara, Neji, Haku, they are different from the norm. They have had their share of great suffering. This is exactly why Sasuke resonates with Naruto, Naruto resonates with Gaara and Neji and Nagato and Haku. Kishi writes his characters with a lot of thought and he has a good grasp on psychology and perception. Any good storyteller does.
Like this person, a Hinata stan, told me she was gay but shipped SS and NH. Turns out it was a HE and a Minor and extremely abusive towards SNS, who thought SNS were dirty fujoshis who deserved to die for shipping brothers. Lol.
Like you can't be sensitive and intelligent and ship something like SS, NrSk and NH. All these ships are a crime against humanity. And anyone who is sensitive and empathetic would find it extremely difficult to like these women, much less ship these last moment shallow ass ships that are based on insensitivity and lack of understanding or empathy.

Divisive opinions- south park edition:
Butters is slightly overused and some of his episodes should have gone to Stan and Kenny.
That being said, I am actually enjoying this asshole!butters arc we are getting in the new seasons. I wish they'd explore his feelings about literally any of the other characters though, there is so much potential.
Matt and Trey should have kept the main four as bullies, not just Cartman. Early Season Stan Kyle and Kenny were jerks and that really worked for the group dynamic.
Kenny is also a jerk to Butters and complicit in Cartman's mistreatment of him. If we acknowledge this, their dynamic gets 300% more interesting.
Toilken episodes are either some of the best episodes in the show, or the most boring. There is no middle ground.
Tegridy Farms isn't a bad concept, just badly executed and horribly overused. I am glad it appears to be gone.
Stan is just as dismissive of Kyle's emotions as Kyle is to his. This isn't a bad thing for the show.
I don't care what Matt and Trey said: Cartman is a victim of his upbringing but he probably can't be fixed just by Liane dating the right person.
That being said, I want Liane to have more screentime. Why is her character development offscreen.
Craig's design sucks. It looks like a scrapped Stan design they reused.
Season one insane Wendy still makes sense for her character, and I'd like to see that brought back.
Bebe is bland af. I want to like her, but she needs to be fleshed out. Please!

Oh sorry the writers thing, but here the thing, you need empathy to do a different pov
Like my Yasuke thing, I point out the guilt he have for not saving the odas and how in the what if continuation that red will do
Also sorry this in my mind
Yasuke chasing Akechi across a battlefield: GET BACK HERE EASTERN JUDAS!
Akechi: WHO THE FUCK IS JUDAS?!
Also it very like the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi to be an endgame item…but if it have new game plus
😈
Also another thing, hmm I think the majority of blacks boys don’t think we need some bland af black character to understand we can be good people
Also modern activitism heavily started in fandoms, dear lord I just give a snippet
Certain Star Wars fans on tumblr: If you like this villain, you’re a Nazi/Abuse apologist!
Me an abuse survivor: Strange how this villain lead me to meet someone that guide me through Hindu stories and now I own a copy of the Ramayana!
Also this

Back in the day, people say that fandoms will change for people like me to have conforms and compassion
But I never felt so isolated and suicidal being in big fandoms like Star Wars or kids media, and superhero media
Also I’m not taking about the og fans like you
I mean the feminists, communists, and “representation matters!” Fans
True about empathy and all that good stuff, be very difficult to write stories about life as a "dark ages" peasant if you had to have the lived experience so imagination is key.
Also sorry this in my mind Yasuke chasing Akechi across a battlefield: GET BACK HERE EASTERN JUDAS! Akechi: WHO THE FUCK IS JUDAS?!
Don't apologize that's funny as hell.
Also another thing, hmm I think the majority of blacks boys don’t think we need some bland af black character to understand we can be good people
I really wish things hadn't gone the way they did with Cosby, I'm terrified of what they might do to Good Times, also if both JJ's will show up, JJ Walker and Miss Janet Jackson.
Tumblr media
Oh looks like people are being honest, unlike how they were with the scooby doo thing, well there's that hope out the window.
NEXT
Also modern activitism heavily started in fandoms, dear lord I just give a snippet Certain Star Wars fans on tumblr: If you like this villain, you’re a Nazi/Abuse apologist!
It's why I stay on the periphery of fandoms, I can see what's going on and collect information and not have to deal with that nonsense.
Me an abuse survivor: Strange how this villain lead me to meet someone that guide me through Hindu stories and now I own a copy of the Ramayana!
That's that video game with the rabbits right?
I haven't gone through many of the Hindu texts like that, I like reading the different cultural epics if I can find the time.

How dare people say Aang pisses on the poor, red door dilemma, sometimes the author really just likes that colour.
Back in the day, people say that fandoms will change for people like me to have conforms and compassion But I never felt so isolated and suicidal being in big fandoms like Star Wars or kids media, and superhero media
Also I’m not taking about the og fans like you I mean the feminists, communists, and “representation matters!” Fans
Fandom should be fun, we should get together and nerd out while quoting our fav lines from whatever it is and tossing in occasional Monty Python Holy Grail jokes.
Got a question you ask someone, they don't know but well they do know someone who may know and they'll get you the answer.
It's supposed to be fun, white guy wants to dress up as T'challa because that's their fav character nobody cares, there will be a significant number of jokes made though
It's supposed to be fun though

so i finished my rewatch of s1-s3 and new watch of s4-s7 of the 100 aaanddd i wanna ramble
spoilers and, from what i've gathered, unpopular opinions under the cut lmao
i watched the first three seasons in 2015-16, iirc (binged s1 and s2 on netflix; watched s3 as it aired)--i remember losing interest towards the end of s3 so i wasn't super hyped about s4 and just kinda forgot about it. on rewatch, i was also getting bored with s3, lmao. it starts off pretty strong, and the end revelation is a banger, but the last 4 eps or so just draaaggggg
i really liked seasons 4 and 5, though, with one big exception: giving clarke a daughter-figure to go all mama bear over was quite possibly one of the most obnoxious character development choices they could have given her
clarke in general is kind of a frustrating character for me because on one hand, i fuckin love a female character who does awful things for what she believes are good reasons, and that is clarke 100%
but in spite of that awesome set up, she manages to be so fucking boring
i think a lot of it is the actress' performance, tbh--the acting on the show overall generally isn't anything spectacular, but i find her particularly bad. i cant quite pinpoint my gripes, i just find her very bland
and given that the show is basically one extended trolley problem and there are dozens of characters who are also constantly put in the position of making the most difficult decisions in the universe, that just isn't enough to make her compelling
i found myself really drawn to echo in the later seasons because i am predictable af and i love a character who is loyal to a fault and bases their entire identity off being a loyal follower. i do feel like the relationship with bellamy was a little shoehorned, though. like i see the enemies to lovers potential there, but i think having most of that transition happen off-screen took all the fun from it
and i was stunned when i went looking for echo gifs to find out that most people hate her but love clarke apparently, lmao. hard opposite
s5 also delved into one of my favorite dark apocalypse tropes: what will push people to become cannibals to survive? it's always been a morbid fascination and i wasn't expecting them to get as fucked up with it as they did, but it was compelling shit
s6 had interesting elements to it--the worldbuilding/lore i think is part of the reason i got so sucked into the show, and seeing how becca's influence managed to reach a whole other planet was cool. i also liked the personality chip stuff bc it gave me ideas for valerie, haha. i also liked russel as an antagonist--love a very polite and calm villain being pushed to their limits
but i could see it was starting to lead into a setup for a whole metaphysical aspect to everything that had happened, and i just really don't like that shit
oh, also, kane and abby were my absolute favorite couple and i'm very sad they didn't get their HEA
so s7 was very meh to me. lovedlovedloved echo, dioyza, octavia, and hope getting to be badasses together, but that's about it. the transcendentalist shit was so fucking tedious, and bellamy got done dirty. and i've found myself overly fixated on the logistics of the "finalkru" situation with clarke and her buddies living on earth for the rest of their lives with no hopes of procreation or extending the human race
like at some point there's just gonna be one person remaining, right? and they have to spend their remaining days all alone? unless they do some kind of death pact? or how exactly do the transcendents ensure there are no babies? can the humans undo this? like what if they clone themselves or do in vitro fertilization? i have questions!!!
i don't mind a story ending with unanswered questions--i even really like that sometimes--but ending with a bunch of new unanswered questions is annoying lmao
plus i find the premise of finalkru surviving and maybe trying to figure out a way to continue the human race to be more interesting than 87% of the plot of s7
also two of the big themes throughout the show was never giving up hope and always seeking to rediscover their humanity after doing horrible shit--i just don't feel like this ending really tied those motifs up in a satisfying way. 99.9% of the human population no longer experiencing pain because they basically don't exist anymore feels less like a reward for Good Behavior and more... idk, just unsettling to me.
i mean, it's basically sci-fi rapture, and the whole idea of the rapture always freaked me out too lmao
i know the show is based on books, which i haven't read and don't plan to, so maybe some of this would be better explained there, but i've also seen commentary that it deviates a lot from the novels so who knows
anyway, i do like the show overall. there's a lot of juicy stuff here, but very weak ending. reminded me a bit of how i felt watching lost, actually, although not as egregious
