And it's all over!! We play like shit and still win...unbelievable!!! The big winner of this match is Edin. His subs made all the difference. This was abysmal until the kids showed up and we finally came alive. Still concerned that we continue to dig holes for ourselves. We were lucky this time. Props to Greg cause this hole could've been much worse. 3-1 final score.

also im now reading the agony and the ecstasy by irving stone and ngl i didnt think i would be too interested at first bc i dont really. its a biography of michelangelo and i dont really care for biographies. or michelangelo
but im only like 20 pages into it (but probably 10k words in bc the print in this book is so small) and i reaaaaaaaaaaally like stone's prose. like i get why his books are so highly rated now.
mostly im pushing myself to read bc im doing storygraph's like. read everyday in january challenge. and dont get me wrong i like what i've read so far but oh my god. i feel a bit like i'm reading for highschool again
which isnt a bad thing!! i do think its good to read challenging stuff, esp because i feel like i want to push thru bc i know theres good stuff in here
anyway. this book will probably last me the rest of january. theres like 800 pages in my copy lmaooo

Where is your header from?
It is from a movie called "The Agony and the Ecstasy", from 1965! It has Charlton Heston as Michelangelo, and Rex Harrison as Pope Julius II, and follows the story of the painting of the Sistine Chapel.
I think it's an amazing movie, excellently written and performed. It's not exactly an action movie, but there is conflict and tension in every scene without ever seeming forced. The themes are amazing, and there's this feel throughout of nobility, glory even.
Most of all, these two central characters are genuinely fascinating and I love their dynamic. One of my favourite scenes is the one I used in my header. In it, the two of them are talking, simply talking, about God and faith in the middle of the night.
I found the gif in this Tumblr post, if you want to check that out!
Thanks for the ask! It's been a while since I've thought about this movie, so thank you also for reminding me of it.

The Agony and the Ecstasy. Oh yes.
A superb discussion that a few teenagers, including a 13-year-old Michelangelo, engage in in the year 1488, as narrated by Mr. Stone in the biographical novel, The Agony and the Ecstasy. Both sides excel in the dialogue, of course, but the young Michelangelo’s restlessness and vision and ache to do what he did with marble later on in his life is only beginning to brew at this stage of the story.…

From ch. 2 of my BingQiu fic Now Entering Incognito Mode!, in which Shen Qingqiu stalwartly refuses to indulge in a wet dream about his female student, even if it means he has to imagine a boy in her place instead. That’s just called respecting women!
