You're Perfect As You (PJO/HOO)
ok ok ok ok ok so its the first time I'm doing this and this is comepletely random but HERE @carrie-tate I MADE A THING FOR NO REASON BUT HAVE THIS *blush blush blush blush* I've super super super super super love your PJO fan art and I really like them (also this couple gets like no attention but idk why they are like my favorite) and I know we've spoken like twice? but I just wanted to make this just cause also its reeeeeeally long sorry ok enjoy *shoves this at you then runs away and hides*
One could describe the perfect morning as what follows: Sunshine softly bleeding through the curtains, the warm light delicately kissing against smooth skin, and the warmth flooding into the bedroom. Sweet chirps of birds called from the outside and a gentle breeze rustled the tree by the window. Sheets and pillows strewn about on the mattress which was soft and inviting. And with a small excited gasp, you realized it was Saturday.
That's how Hazel Levesque would describe a perfect morning. And yet… something was missing. As she yawned and stretched, Hazel realized she was alone. Where was her boyfriend? He wasn’t hard to miss, especially due to his bulky size. (She loved waking up and clinging to his arm, knowing he was always too tired to push her away.) But she couldn’t feel his presence in the bed. Sitting up, she tried to get a look into the kitchen to see if he was making breakfast, but again she found nothing. She knew he didn’t work today, so where was he?
“Frank?” she called out. Before she could rip the sheets away, she heard a small mrrow? Lifting up the covers, she couldn’t help but smile as a small orange cat looked at her with a pleased expression. She giggled and scritched its head. “Frank, is that you?”
The cat meowed again and stretched, acting as if its arms were reaching for her. It stood on its legs and trotted closer, nuzzling into her hand. Hazel giggled again and laid down with the cat immediately worming its way in her arms, purring very loudly. She cuddled the cat close and hummed as she rubbed her face against its fluffy fur, stroking its tummy as well. If it was possible, the cat purred even louder.
“We should do this every morning, hm? Although, I’d prefer you as a fat, happy bulldog. I bet you’d really like belly rubs as a bulldog, wouldn’t you?” Hazel suggested, letting out a huffed chuckle as the cat meowed again. An hour passed and the cat slipped from Hazel’s grip and as it jumped off the bed, its form grew as Frank finally revealed himself.
“Noooo, more cat cuddles!” Hazel whined as she reached for her boyfriend. Frank chuckled, stretching his back then leaning over to kiss her forehead.
“Sorry, but this cuddly cat wants pancakes. You’d better get up and help or you won’t get any.” Frank kissed her head again and left her on the bed. She was up in an instant, following him out the door saying, “Like hell I’m not getting pancakes!”
Breakfast was made and eaten with lovely lo-fi beats to accompany them (Frank’s choice). Then, they began to settle down for the day. Hazel sat on the couch with her book as Frank laid his head on her lap while home remodeling shows played on the TV. As Hazel read, she carded her fingers through Frank’s short hair. She enjoyed the soft hums of pleasure that rumbled from his muscular chest.
Losing her train of thought, Hazel began to admire Frank’s form. He was built perfectly. He was muscular but not too bulky which was Hazel’s favorite thing. You could feel the pure muscle from his arm and he didn’t even need to flex. His entire chest was chiseled graciously from his pecs to his abs. His legs were something to marvel as well. It was embarrassing how easy Hazel blushed when Frank flexed his thighs and quads. But she couldn’t help herself. There was so much to love about him. And not just his body, she loved Frank because of how his kindness was unyielding. And the best part was that it was infectious. He was a loveable goofball that managed to get everyone giggling at his jokes or his silly solutions. Hazel was hopelessly in love.
Her arms moved before her mind did, setting her book aside and sliding her hand across Frank’s chest to his stomach. Frank let out a small gasp and smirked, fighting back a snicker. Hazel nearly squealed aloud but held strong, grinning back to him instead. She softly pet his tummy, turning his smirk into a bright smile. He put a hand around her wrist but his grip was so soft she barely felt it.
“Hehey, what are you doing?” he chuckled. He looked to his girlfriend’s eyes, fighting back a nervous giggle when he noticed the now mischievous glint in her eyes.
“Can’t I give my boyfriend a tummy rub? You seemed to like it a whole lot earlier~” teased Hazel, ever so slightly curling her fingers to make her giddy boyfriend jump. Frank did just that, twitching from her fingers while biting his lip.
“Y-You can… but…” Frank whined slightly and covered his furiously blushing face with his hands. Hazel laughed and shifted herself so she had both hands stroking his stomach.
“But what, Frankie? What’s the matter? Is there a problem?” Hazel’s honey smooth voice continued to tease as she now drummed her fingers against Frank’s hardened abs. Frank chuckled ‘miserably’ in his hands, lightly kicking his feet up as a very adorable reaction. The shapeshifter peeked at Hazel from his fingers and whined, “dohohooon’t…”
“Why nooooooot?” Hazel whined back but in a more playful tone. She gave a small pinch to his ab which made him squeak as he reached down to lightly push her hands away, but that proved useless.
“Because! It’ll tickle…” he said quietly, almost as if someone else would find out.
“I mean, that’s kinda why I wanna do it, dum dum,” she admitted. She started poking around Frank’s stomach that made him squeak once again and lean his head back, giggling oh so cutely. He gently thumped his heel against the sofa cushion to try and cope with the electrifying feeling. Hazel giggled and paused for a moment, taking Frank’s chin and gently directing his face towards her.
“I won’t do anything without permission.” That declaration from his girlfriend really sent him over the edge. Frank’s face went fully red as he covered his face again. After a pause he muttered, “m’kay.”
Hazel grinned and wiggled her fingers. Gasping like the first time, Frank started to chuckle sweetly, melting Hazel’s heart instantly. He covered his mouth with a closed fist, wrapping his arm around his chest as he tried his best not to lean off the couch. As Hazel’s fingers drummed and wiggled against his abs the more Frank’s laughter grew.
“Hmhm Hmhmhmhmhm… kkh… hehehehehehehehe! Hehehehehehehe! Hahahahahahahaha!” giggled Frank, now slightly arching his back off the couch.
Frank didn’t get tickled much since of his size and build, he suspected, but he didn’t mind when someone would try. Hazel found out his weakness on the Argo II and he didn’t necessarily say anything about it. No “please don’t tell anyone!” or “if someone asks me if I’m ticklish I know you’ll have told them” or anything like that. He always loved the games his mom would play with him, the stories she’d tell him as she tickled him silly. It made him feel… very warm inside. So having his girlfriend just up and do this out of nowhere made his heart flutter.
“Such a giggly goose- wait, are geese ticklish? Would you know Frank? I mean, can we test it?” Hazel was now unintentionally teasing the poor shapeshifter who now giggles at a higher pitch as Hazel swirled circles on his belly. He tittered and giggled, lightly kicking the arm of the couch as he fought with his arms to not block Hazel out. She started poking and prodding up his sides which made him squirm back and forth like a salsa dancer.
“Haha, Frankie! You’re so cute when you’re squirmy! What if I get you here?” Hazel pondered as she climbed her hands up to his armpit.
“EEHEE!” Frank shrieked and shot his arms to his sides, trapping his girlfriend’s evil hands where they were, digging into his highest rib.
“Hahahahahahahahahaha! Hahahahahahahahahazelllll! Thahahahahat’s my tihihihihihihihihihickle spohohohohohohot! Gahahahahahahaaa! I cahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaan’t!” Frank’s laughter rang true through their small apartment. And Hazel positively died of cuteness and cooed right back to him.
“Aww! That’s your tickle spot, huh? Does it tickle in your tickle spot?” She giggled as Frank nodded honestly, whimpering and laughing in the same breaths. Hazel forced her fingers upwards and that had Frank in stitches. He hugged his arms tight over his chest, kicking his feet harder now and shook his head back and forth as happy laughter burst from his throat.
“Nooooooooooooooo! Ahahahahahahahahaha Hazhehehehehehehehel! Come ohohohohohohohohoh! Nohohohohoho armpihihihihhihihihits! Eeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheeheehee! Okahahahahay okay! Plehehehehehehehease!” Frank begged as he started to lose his mind. Taking pity on her large boyfriend, she stopped her wiggling fingers. This let the shapeshifter take in a huge gulp of air, panting and giggling as air was restored to his lungs. Hazel was about to leave well enough alone, but there was one problem.
“Uh… Frank?” she asked. Mentioned boy looked up tiredly to find Hazel’s hands were still stuck in his armpits. “I, uh, I kinda need these, babe.”
Frank froze… then shook his head rapidly. Hazel laughed and tried tugging her hands out, but her only result was ticklish glee from her boyfriend. She laughed again and tugged one last time. Half to prove a point, and half to hear that sound again.
“Bahabe! You need to lift your arms!” Hazel demanded, smiling at the silliness of the situation.
“Nohoho! You’re gonna tickle mehehe!” Frank argued, amused with not only the situation but as well as the simultaneous tickles.
“I’m gonna tickle you if you keep my hands here!” Hazel and Frank laughed for a moment before both calming, taking in giggly breaths. “Ok Frankie bear. If you lift up your arms, I promise I won’t tickle you. Swear on my life. Got it babe?”
Frank looked at her, still giggling through intervals of breaths. He sounded like a hysterical out of breath toddler, it was so cute! Hazel couldn’t stand it, her forehead falling on his chest.
“Cohome on, Frank! It’s not that hard!”
“Give me a second! Ghosh, what hurry are you in? I'm the ohone losing my mind!” Frank giggled as he fussed over her. She couldn’t give him just one second to man up?? He finally, finally caught his breath enough to focus.
“On the count of three, ok?” He looked at Hazel who nodded. Frank took a deep breath and exhaled. “One… two… three!”
In one swift movement, Frank lifted his arms and Hazel ripped her hands out his armpits as Frank shot his arms back down.
“See? That wasn’t so hard. Big baby,” Hazel teased, kissing his nose. Her hazel hair fell into Frank’s face causing him to smile. He brought his hand behind her neck and gently pulled her in for a kiss. When they parted, Frank started giggling again.
“What is it?” Hazel asked, humored.
“You taste like coffee.” Frank pressed their foreheads together and kissed her again. It was Hazel’s turn to giggle because when they broke away, she responded with, “And you taste like maple syrup.”
The two hummed and giggled, nuzzling their noses together and kissing every so often. And whispering ‘I love you’ to each other like it was their little secret.
Perfect wasn’t just a way to describe a morning. It was to describe their life, their love. It was all… perfect.

u know what. i will give u all the lore u want. i’m 18, will be 19 decently soon so we are close to the same age. also the other band was r5. i have sent u asks about them and tde in the past. i followed you for atl content and got whiplash when u started posting about the first band i ever loved. i was like 10 when their first album dropped i have been around for entirely too long. i had a wattpad account and wrote r5 fanfic from the tender age of like 11-13. i discovered 5sos i don’t even remember how but i think the funniest part about it is that i never really got into their music?? i got into them as people by watching like interviews and compilations. and i mean at this point that was a While ago. SPEAKING OF FANFIC i did that like ao3 year in review thing like a month ago??? and you were my top author of the year so far. i read a lot of fic on ao3. your fics are very lovely and some of my favs. moving on. will not lie my music taste is kinda embarrassing and has barely changed since i was like 14 lmfao. been listening to a lot of waterparks lately. have been since their album dropped in may. i essentially go through phases of listening to solely one artist. or one playlist i made. most recently my taste has consisted of a lot of all time low, waterparks, paramore + hayley’s solo music (it really had to grow on me BUT now that it has it is very good), also been on a nostalgic r5 kick as well. hot take it has been quite difficult for me to get into tde’s music and i don’t really know why. some songs i absolutely adore (omg plz don’t come around is my fav by them. also scared of heights, feel you now, welcome to the end of your life are top songs too) but others i’m just. i have never liked preacher man and it’s the first song they released after they rebranded in like 2017. i love to see them finally free to do what they love music-wise but some of it is just. hard to listen to. i’m supposed to see them live in november (like 4 days before my birthday, kinda cool) and it’s the second time the show has been rescheduled so hopefully it happens. i’ve seen them live before but not since they rebranded. they’re dropping an album in october that i will have like a month to learn so it better be a fucking banger. now i’m just rambling about tde because i love ross and rocky with my entire being. rydel is annoying these days tho. also she named her baby fucking SUPER what kind of name is that why would you do that to a child. anyways. you ever need useless random r5 lore, i’m the person to ask. it’s the effect of being around to like a band for like 8 years. in conclusion my music taste? terrible. a cluster fuck. i will listen to luke’s solo album next time i’m focusing on a task because i like listening to new music when i’m concentrating on something. there’s some other bella lore for the day. - other bella

lol, the title. i was going to make it ‘accidental crush’, but it wasn’t giyuu who was crushing on you
um, this story is kinda long, but you just gotta keep reading for the giyuu content, i swear
disclaimer: don’t actually fight kids for your girl
“Great job! You’re doing wonderful, I just want you to work on keeping this arm straight when you swing down okay?” you correct as the student nods at you with a smile. “Thank you, (Name)-san.”
Walking over towards the next student, you nod your head approvingly before reaching out and fixing their hands and leg movements. “Just be a little more sharp with your movements, it’ll help make cleaner and stronger cuts.” You stood beside them and quickly showed them an example, the student awing as an epiphany hit them. “That makes more sense! I’ll try that, thank you!” You gave a small smile in response before you continue to walk around, checking on the students.
Your eyes locked onto one of your best students. He was strong but lacked the skill to be a great demon slayer. As you stood a few feet away, you watched his movements before stepping in when you noticed a few things he could adjust to become better. “Hiro-kun, when you step up like that and swing down, keep your head straight; otherwise, you could strain your neck,” you respond as you placed your hands on his temples from behind, keeping his head straight.
As your hands touched his skin, he ripped away from you before giving you a death glare from around his shoulder. “Jeez, I got it. Stop bothering me, you’re such a pain in the ass.”
Bringing your arms to your side again, you let out a sigh. He was always like this with you. “I apologize if that made you uncomfortable in any way, Hiro-kun, but I am just helping you so that you don’t hurt yourself in the future. And please be respectful here during training.”
"I don’t care what you say, what do you know about being a Demon Slayer? You’re not even out on the field anymore,” he states, rolling his eyes at you. “I know enough to be able to train you younger and newer Demon Slayers. Please practice the adjustments I have suggested to you.” And with that response, you walk off to give your attention to a different student.
As nighttime rolled around, you stumbled into your quiet home before walking into the kitchen to set some tea. “Welcome back, (Name),” Giyuu stated quietly as he sat at the table, “I already have tea set.”
“Giyuu! Your home early!” You exclaim as you excitedly run toward him before joining him for some tea. “How was training with the students?” He asked and you let out an exhausted sigh. “Everything went by well again except Hiro-kun,” you state, bringing the cup towards your lips. “He still hates me for some reason, but I’m just trying to help him.”
“Do you want me to stop by?” Giyuu asked, but you shake your head with a smile, “Thank you, but I think I can handle this by myself.” You respond as you snuggle into his side. The two of you spent the rest of the night catching up on whatever you both had missed from the previous days apart.
It was another day of training and again, it went by great—until it got to Hiro.
“Stop bothering me, I got it.”
“Why are you always hovering around me? Stop telling me what to do.”
“Can you shut up? You’re so annoying,”
Letting out what seemed like the 100th sigh of the day, you crossed your arms at the younger male. “Hiro-kun, please do not talk to me that way.” He gives you a look of disgust before turning away and focusing back on his training. ‘I can handle this..’ you remind yourself.
At the end of training, you gathered all of your students together for a quick meeting to debriefing.
“Great job today, everyone! I am so proud of seeing all of your improvements!” you chirp and noticed Hiro roll his eyes at your statement. Ignoring him, you continue, “I know that most if not all of you will be going on missions tonight and I just want you all to be careful and fight hard, not recklessly.” Giving them encouraging smiles, you nod in approval, “Good luck.”

Dressed in your demon slayer attire, you walked around the empty streets, ready to be called for assistance from your old crow. You hadn’t gotten any calls, which was a good and bad thing for you. Good because it meant that your students were doing well by themselves and training was paying off, bad because you were bored.
You perked up when you heard the sounds of a crow cawing towards you. Glancing up, you saw your crow flying towards you, “Caw! Caw! Fukuya Hiro needs assistance! Head southwest! Caw!”
“Oh no, Hiro-kun!” you cried as you immediately held onto your blade and took off in his direction. You could only hope you would make it in time.
As you approached Hiro’s location, you pulled out your blade before stealthily sneaking around to find Hiro. As you glanced around, a particular noise caught your attention before you ran off again in hopes of finding Hiro.
It didn’t take long to catch sight of Hiro and your heart fastened when you saw Hiro defenseless on the ground with the demon quickly approaching.
Taking in a large breath, you held it in as you ran towards Hiro, jumping in front of him and swinging your sword, slicing the arm of the demon off. “(Name)-san!” Hiro exclaimed and you prepared your blade for another attack. “Hurry and run to safety, Hiro!” you shouted as you swung your sword once more. “I’ll catch up.”
Hearing Hiro’s quick footsteps getting further, you quickly ended the fight with the demon before following Hiro’s light trail of blood.
“Hiro-kun?” you shouted as you glanced around for the young boy only to find him safely under some wisteria trees. Sighing in relief, you knelt in front of the younger slayer before taking out some bandages from your pockets. “I’m glad I got there in time,” you say as you cleaned his wounds.
“Why did you come?” Hiro asked with a slightly frustrated tone. You quickly glanced up at him before focusing back on his arm wound. “I’m always on guard whenever my students are out on missions in case situations like this arise,” you explain, bandaging his arm. He grunted in response as he tested his arm, shaking it lightly.
“Why didn’t you tell any of the students that you would be there for backup,” he questioned, moving his face away from your hand as you tried to clean his cheek wound. “Because if I did, then the students would begin to depend on me. Stop moving, I need to clean your wound before it gets infected,” you scold as Hiro finally sits still.
“I’m just glad you’re safe now,” you say, giving him a smile as you pat his shoulder reassuringly. “You’re all good to go. Go take a rest and I’ll see you in a few days.”

A few weeks had passed and once your students were well-rested and fully healed, training began once more. Everything was back to normal except for one thing, Hiro was nice to you?
“Here, let me help you with that, (Name)-san,” Hiro quickly grabbed the large basket from your hands before setting it aside for you. You gave him a puzzled smile, “Oh, thank you Hiro-kun.”
Or when you gave him suggestions and tips, he would always nod determinedly. “Yes, of course. I will work on your suggestions, thank you.” You gave him another puzzled smile before walking away, confused. He wasn’t cursing you out this time? What’s gotten into him?
“Hiro-kun?” calling out to the younger slayer as the others slowly dispersed, he quickly turned at the sound of your voice, jogging over towards you, “Yes?” You gave him a soft smile, “You’ve been acting so strange lately, is everything okay?”
Hiro tilted his head to the side in confusion, “What do you mean (Name)-san?” Your grit your teeth together awkwardly, “Well, you’re treating me so well! You used to hate me near you, did something happen?”
Hiro stared at you expressionless before the gears clicked in his head. “After you saved me from that demon, I felt terrible about treating you in such ways,” he confessed and your face lit up. “Oh! Is that so? No need to be so thankful to me, you making great improvement is more than enough!”
Hiro gives you a small smile before reaching down to take your hands. “I will do whatever it takes to make you happy (Name)-san! I really like you!” he confessed and you stared at him blankly. “Haha, I’m glad that we can get along!”
“I will protect you from now on (Name)-san!” Hiro exclaims, gripping your hands tightly in his. Your mouth drops in shock before you pull away with an awkward chuckle. “Oh wow, is that so? Okay, have a good night Hiro-kun!” you respond before running away towards your shared him with Giyuu.
“What have I done!” you internally shouted as you threw yourself into your home, your shoes flying off in the process.
Giyuu rounds the corner to see you groaning into the floor, his eyes staring quietly at your form. “Welcome home (Name),” he says as he steps over you to enter the living space. “Giyuu, I have some news for you,” you sob as you crawl over towards his lap as he sits down. He hums in response before you wrap your arms around his waist.
“Remember how I saved Hiro-kun?” you asked and he nods quietly. “Well, good news is that he isn’t disrespectful to me anymore,” you say with a nervous chuckle. “The bad news is that it seems like he developed a big crush on me.”
The room fell silent and each breath you took sounded extremely loud. “Giyuu?”
“Hmm,” he responds after what felt like forever. “I see.”
You weren’t sure how he was handling this unforeseen situation until the next day of training came. You stared in horror and shock as Giyuu stood in front of Hiro, his deep blue eyes staring into those of Hiro’s.
“What a surprise to see you here, Tomioka-san,” Hiro smiled mischievously as Giyuu stared him down. “Well, I must get back to training,” Hiro continues as he turns around to walk away, only stopping once Giyuu spoke up.
“I’m just here to remind you that (Name) is your teacher and nothing more.” Hiro turned around with a scoff before walking toward the set of wooden swords you had set aside for training later. Picking a sword up, Hiro tossed one to Giyuu, “Let’s fight right now for (Name)-san.”
Your face drops and you almost scream when Giyuu agrees. The other students pull you aside as everyone circles around the two slayers. “Get ready..” a girl announces as everyone watched in anticipation, “fight!”
You watched as Hiro and Giyuu fought head-on and though you had no doubt that Giyuu would win, you were impressed with how much Hiro had improved. The fight didn’t last too long, Giyuu being the obvious winner. Tossing his sword away, Giyuu turned away from Hiro before walking over to you, lifting you up in his arms no matter how much you protested in embarrassment. “I won.”
Hiro frowned, crossing his arms with a sigh. “I’ll train harder and surpass you one day, Tomioka-san.” Glancing over at you, you jump as you make eye contact with Hiro, “I’ll come back for you (Name)!”
You gave an embarrassed smile, what a time to be alive.
Once you and Giyuu arrived home, he immediately clung onto your form all the way until the two of you got into bed. He was extra clingy and though it was nice, you knew he was upset. Chuckling, you run your hands through his fresh, out of the bath, hair.
“Are you okay?” you ask and he shakes his head. “Those young slayers are so problematic,” he mumbled into you and you chuckle. “True, but they are just boys.”
“I’m glad you won, though,” you respond with a giggle. “I knew you were going to win, no doubt.” Tilting your head, you press a kiss onto his forehead. “Goodnight, I love you.” A smile formed on your lips when a soft, ‘I love you too’ was mumbled.

Its already a bit shitty that they made a character whose entire "joke" is that he has ocd/germaphobia and its meant to be funny? Somehow? That he has this mental illness? And is frequently exposed to stuff that terrifies him?? Funny how???? But then theres a really rather disturbing montage of Gyan punishing his sidekick by straight up triggering his phobia and YIKES MAN sorry thats even more evil than the cannibalism! Also why was it drawn all overly detailed and Saw-esque?? Why did we need so much art effort put into showing dirty feet and a guy being forced to stick his hand in a shit filled toilet. Was this someone's goddamn fetish or something???

I'm so mad they wasted a cool character deisgn and cool concept on such a shitty execution. Like even the plot could have been cool? They could have got a lot more episodes out of the idea of these two runnibg thru fairytale books and cosplaying as different classic villains. And if theyd just made a damn decision and gone with either funny cute or scary bad then it could have worked! Personally i am voting for funnycute obv course. But also thatd work best with this plot, it would have been better if it was just a low stakes goofy adventure with something like "oh this dude wants to find the legendary magic wish thingie to wish for a lifetime supply of chocolate and our heroes wanna wish for something actually important so thats why they fight". Could have even added some drama cos like he doesnt know the thing is actually dangerous and then what if he ends up possessed by it and you still get a fight with him thats pretty high stakes without having this weird inconsistant personality thing. Could be quite a dramatic twist to suddenly have comedy villain man as a genuine threat! Ans could be a way to resolve it all with friendship cos you could have Are Bacchino teaming up with the heroes to save his boss and then Gyan is like "whoa i guess you guys were 100% right all along" when he gets saved from his own bigass mistake and all. And then THE GAMES COULD ACTUALLY MAKE HIM PLAYABLE PERHAPS, JUST SAYIN
Also PLEASE rewrite like every single thing about the relationship between the two of them. Please take whoever said "yeah gyan should outright torture his one and only friend with a messed up Saw movie ocd-triggering machine" and throw them out the window. Consider this: what if..they were actually...friend. Like i feel they'd have enough comedy potential already just from being a "rival mafia" thats literally two people who are ludocrously incompetant at everything they do and only ever succeed at (literally) stealing candy from babies. Play up that side of things more! No need to throw random super evil shit at the funnymen to make them seem more intimidating, theyre at their best when theyre not intimidating at all. And you could still have the same gag of the fairytale world forms always being Gyan as some sort of classic villain and Are as a talking carpet or whatever, like just say thats how the magic works instead of Gyan doing it on purpose to be a jerk. And you could even still have Are being the funny underdog just from sheer bad luck instead of being purpisely mistreated by every single character in the entire cast. Or have it that Gyan is just a bit of a bumbling idiot boss who doesnt notice his mistakes and Are is like the hypercompetant sidekick who always ends up taking the consequences of those mistakes because he's like an overportective bodyguard. Which could also be a way to establish some cute friendship moments! Like i dunno someone's about to throw a pie at Gyan and Are does an overdramatic diving save and a whole fake death scene from the sheer horror of getting banana cream frosting on his suit. "Boss...go on without me..." *cough choke* And Gyan is like *equally overdramatic tears* "He made the ultimate sacrifice! I will avenge him!!" *charges forward to fight the heroes and just gets easily beat up like usual* And then its like *even more continually dramatic narration* "and the boss was beaten and bruised, but he carried me for miles through wind and storm" *over footage of like ridiculously impossible heroic adventures thay clearly didnt happen* And then it just cuts to the two of them sitting at like...ye olde fantasy laundromat. Are sobbing like "oh boss i'll never forget this" and Gyan is just like *thought bubble* "i wish i got to eat that pie tho"
I dunno maybe im naive but i just think shows are generally more fun when characters actually like each other and have motivations beyond self interest. Obvipusly not EVERY character has to be like that, but nobody is ever kind at all in the damn anime whether theyre villain or hero. And also specifically these sorts of minor role villains can benefit a lot from being fleshed out this way to become way more memorable! Like gin and kin became way better in Psychic Specters when they got the added trait of loving and cherishing their little brother. (To the point of it being a literal battle power that made their horribly hard boss fight even worse, lol!)
Also just...plz dont make a man so cute if hes meant to be big badness. Like seriously Are looks scarier than him and Are is like the least scary man to ever have those scary ass eyes! Smol depressed man with ocd and tol round lollipops friendo. I WANT TO LOVE THEM
Im gonna just cross my arms and sit here stubbornly hoping for The Anime/Game Effect to kick in. Like 99% of all characters in the anime are jerks and even when anime originals end up cameoing in the games they tend to become generally nicer and more well developed as people. So fingers crossed for a yw4 appearance thats full cute and 0% cannibalism!!!
