So I've been cooking up some alternate outfit ideas for my Lmk sona and this is what they'd look like if they were with the Demon Bull Family! The idea is basically they'd be something of a court musician but it's mainly just a title.
Edit: Added the version without her armor <3
I don't have a concrete story but the initial idea was that cas was friends with swk in the brotherhood days and stuck with dbk after everyone else got sealed away and the whole consumption incident went down since she had nowhere else to go (and conveniently was the only lady around that he could ask for relationship advice when courting Iron Fan). They didn't expect Cas to live this long, only really expecting to have her around through her natural lifespan but they noticed she wasn't aging so now she gets to be their babysitter for date nights! Through the years she's been something of an aunt/sister figure and has become fiercely loyal to the family despite having no desire to take over the world. Redson built her electric bass and the armor she wears over her gems, the Bass has 2 extra buttons on it- the fire button spews fire out of the pipes and the Bull button unsheathes her sword from the neck of the instrument since she can't exactly walk around with a sword on her hip so easy these days. She travels with a heavy metal band across the continent- i like to imagine her intro episode has the crew excited about a big band coming to the city and while they wait they run into redson and annoy him cause he's bragging about getting exclusive vip passes to the show. The crew would expect someone mean from the music and the from the rest of the family but Cas is super welcoming and nice when the crew sneak backstage to bother redson some more XD
#my art#sketches#lmk oc#it me!#Cas#i'm not mentioning connie because they're the same no matter the au#though you can bet they're gonna flip when they hear redson and dbk opened a barbecue restaurant without telling them#they want a taste! Cas is probably the only mortal who can eat the Inferno level simply because Connie will consume it#and also they've been eating this boys cooking for years- they've gained an ungodly spice tolerance#i also like this concept because i think it'd be funny to have wukong be weird about Mk knowing Cas now#and innocently being like 'we should invite them over to hang out- since we're cool with redson why not the token nice one of the family?'#and Wukong is just getting flashbacks to the last time they spoke- right after sealing away dbk and is like 'haha that's nice bud-#'but oh darn they're still touring and won't stick around- she'll probably be leaving the city super soon! what a bummer!'#"all the more reason to get together Right Now!!!' :D '... Thats... GREAT Bud- i can see no reasonable point to argue!' ;w;#Meanwhile Cas is Vibing- big chillin- is only gonna realize her mistake when she locks eyes with swk and they both immediately share a Look#and wordlessly agree to simply Not Bring It Up#i have 1 other design i'm working on- i have the sketch and concept done already#i just need to color and finish it#that one i had the entire outfit And Lore a lot more thought out than this one but i had this idea first and REALLY wanted to draw the bass#im so proud of it you have no idea- the idea of the sword hidden in the bass and the flame jets make me so happy#it feels like something Redson would make- Cas uses it for all their performances they love it so much#And they wear the armor he made Religiously- even if their gems are covered by clothes or theyre chilling at home#unless they just woke up and haven't gotten dressed then they're most likely wearing them- the necklace especially#I still gotta make a regular Ref sheet but these are more fun- i have so much random info about Lmk cas i wanna ramble about >:3

I AM AN ABSOLUTE JUMBLED MESS, SO HAVE SOME OF MY MESSY THOUGHTS ABOUT THE CROSSOVER TODAY, IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER:
So far, we've got Tango in Gobland, Scar in Tumble Town, Pearl and Joe in Chromia, Cleo and Xisuma in Eversea, Keralis and Jevin in Sanctuary. Impulse and Grian are kind of making their own places. Did I miss anyone?
There are two kinds of emperors in this crossover: the ones who stick to the lore and claim they don't know the Hermits and the ones who drop everything and yell "MY RANCHER!".
Pix fits the second category, though a lot quieter.
Pearl fits the first, which is strange, considering her role as Literally God. At this point we really can't be sure of what exactly this means for Pearl or for Sausage. What is she?
Gem is her own category. There's something very sus going on with her.
Jimmy absolutely freaking out over seeing Tango again though-
I think at this point it's canon that either people have nametags floating above their heads or everyone is wearing an actual name tag and that's how they all know each other's names even though they never met.
Scott just got a magical flash grenade to the eye. How is this man seeing anything after the entire sky erupted in magic light-
Sausage. I'm not surprised. Not even disappointed. Xisuma most certainly is, though.
Is it a custom in Sanctuary to kiss people on the cheeks or is Sausage like... actively making out with newcomers? I know this is a very weird question, but it's Sausage we're talking about.
Joel adopted the one night armour stand joke lmao-
Tango freaking out over every little thing he sees.
Murder is canonically legal in Empires.
Grian is a force of chaos, as expected.
Rancher duo collabs again, pog? With horns and everything?
And Tango is now an engineer in Gobland, which means Fwhip might have some more to do other than poke the Sheriff. This crossover is a win all around for Jimmy, except for the toy jokes, which may increase, but I will thoroughly ignore that-
There's No Curse In Glimmer Grove.
Sausage keeping tabs on all the Hermits. That' either means that he's not as unsuspecting of them as he may seem or it implies that all Hermits are now their own empiresonas-
Grian's appearance in Tumble Town was so incredibly ominous, holy sh-
Shelby trying to be hospitable but at the same time being a witch inviting unsuspecting people into her hut in the cursed swamp after claiming the fog eats souls and pulling out a scythe. I'd be terrified.
Hats and mounts get passed all around. Is this a crime?
Why does only Pearl get an outfit change? I mean, I know why, but like, canonically speaking, why did it happen?
Still, I felt a bit teary-eyed upon seeing the Arena Duo together again, the Gilded Helianthia dress only made it better. I missed these guys interacting so much, and I don't know if I'm in denial like Sausage or if I'm just about to open a Word document to write an entire one shot about it-
Sausage had a vision of Gilded Helianthia, I'm not ok
Oh god, now we have both Joel and Scar yelling LORE in the same place, save us-
So convenient that E!False decided to travel far away right when HC!False shows up. Smart decision, yes, but at the same time, the fanfic writers must now assemble to make the two of them meet.
Ok, so apparently some people remember the Life series and some people don't. I guess that means that some of the characters, such as Jimmy, Joel and Scar, are the same characters from the Life series after they lost their third life. Other characters, such as Scott and Pearl, are not. But what does this mean?
Fwhip sounded so hurt for a moment when he thought Jimmy made Scar his new deputy. This man is not ok.
Soup Group? Soup Group.
Big ears Scar is cursed.
Sausage is too hospitable for his own good.
Scar's deputy and moral support arc. I'm happy for it, but at the same time, I don't trust it.
On one hand, I do think the wallpaper in Tumble Town looks very pretty and it would be so sad to destroy it. On the other hand, Jimmy deserves some dignity and shouldn't take this slander anymore, I swear to god-
Poor Impulse is so confused, why is this cat lady yelling at him, why are animals walking on two legs, where is he, he's having a crisis-
Stratos' class system gets called out, finally.
Just when Joel was so close to convincing the fandom that he's tall, the Empires' folk shut it down and confirm that they're only playing along and he is not, in fact, tall. Short king is back?
Katherine, when you go around telling everyone, including literal strangers your secret, I don't think it can be considered a secret anymore.
Fwhip encourages crime, such a good deputy of the law.
But then again, it's not stealing, it's borrowing-
Seeing the empires from the Hermits' perspectives is crazy, I hadn't realised just how massive these empires got.
The Hermits are staying for a while. I'm so happy this isn't going to be a one-episode thing, I'm dying to see where this goes!
(I'm trying to watch as many perspectives as I can. Some of them haven't come out yet, and I don't feel like watching Keralis' hour long episode. Can someone tell me what happens there?)

Well that Champion of Champions episode was great. Ridiculously funny from start to finish, and all the tasks were top quality (maybe apart from the studio task, but even that wasn’t bad). I thought every contestant had at least a few really memorable moments.
I love the way the COC episodes get to be celebrations of Taskmaster as a whole. They can’t really do that in the regular episodes, because they’re playing to a studio audience that hasn’t seen the previous episodes from that season, so they try not to call back to too much stuff they haven’t seen. And they’re trying to appeal to casual TV viewers who might not have seen previous seasons, so there aren’t too many references to that either. But I guess they figure that anyone watching Champion of Champions has seen the preceding stuff, and they make it full of references.
I loved bringing back the bandstand from the early seasons, and this was the perfect time for it. I wouldn’t want them to do that in any of the regular episodes, for the same reason why I think Alex is right to say they won’t reuse old tasks – too easy to slip down the road to capitalizing on nostalgia and stop being original. Seeing the new, increasingly elaborate task location is a fun part of all the new seasons, I wouldn’t want to give that up. But bringing back the site of some of the greatest, establishing early Taskmaster moments for a one-off special was perfect.
And then they got in lots of ways to bring back old seasons. Kiell referencing the banana task. Dara’s outfit being a tribute to all of season 14. Ramsey’s name coming up on Sophie Duker’s signs. The comment about proposing to Alex Horne like in season 12. And obviously the constant mentions of Mae Martin. I like how they did that. That they didn’t try to be slick TV and pretend that everything had gone exactly according to plan and this is how the lineup was meant to be; roasting Kiell for an entire episode was much more fun than that.
I think I also agree with what Ed Gamble said on the podcast, that this may be the first time there’s been a Champion of Champions that makes total sense. Let’s be honest, Josh Widdicombe was quite good at Taskmaster but not the best player out of all 25 from the first five seasons (I think that might have been Noel Fielding, but then he chose to mess around and stop being competitive in COC1). And I also agree with Ed Gamble’s assessment that Richard Herring was competent in only one episode of Taskmaster, and it was COC2. That’s what happens when you only have one episode instead of taking the winner from an aggregate. And when you add a Golden Snitch studio task to it. But Dara O’Brien might be the most competent person to play in seasons 11-15, so that’s nice to see him as a Champion of Champions.
So there was a lot to enjoy about the episode for its place in the larger Taskmaster lore, but it was also just enormous fun as a one-off. That’s the other thing that’s fun about the COC episodes – it is cool to see an episode where everyone’s actually trying and no one’s particularly bad at it and everyone brings something interesting to the table.
Alex immediately going way too hard and way too personal when Sophie asked him to insult her. Sarah Kendall clapping for like half the episode and not realizing she was wearing a watch. Dara completing an entire task without even standing up by popping elastics off his head. Morgana remembering that season 12 task where she popped all those ice cubes in her offer and roundly outdoing herself with paint. Dragging the Greg statue across the ground. Sarah Kendall just being furious for the entire episode. Kiell not even bothering to try to find Alex. Kiell getting roasted all episode for the embarrassing flaw of not being Mae Martin. Sophie calling out Greg. Dara's wig montage. Sarah Kendall being absolutely furious. Did I mention that enough? God, I’d missed Sarah Kendall being furious.
Do Something Stupid was a brilliant task concept. I’m glad that stealing things from other versions is a loophole in Alex’s stance against reusing tasks, and I’m glad they found a way to make it broadcastable (though of course we all salute Guy and Urzilla for the lost task that the NZ producers are too cowardly to show us).
Hats off to the new champion. Hats, and wigs off to the new champion.

Ok so obviously I think about Asajj a lot but I usually don't fully explain or visualize it. So no time like the present to start doing that
Here are things about Asajj, starting with my personal design and concept of her and why it's like that (most of these are sketches to put my thoughts somewhere so don't expect anything refined or clean):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off, that girl is a cryptid. Weirdo. I love giving her all-black eyes/white pupils because it fits her, and eyebrows whatsoever (unless I'm in the mood for that). This is mainly sticking to the earlier Dermoty Power designs for Episode II and the way he draws her later on. The pointy ears are because she's a cat to me and she had those in Hyperspace Stories #5. Also!!!! I hate the Clone Wars retconning her to be Dathomorian and a NIghtsister and that whole backstory with my entire heart. Story-wise I prefer sticking to the Legends stories in the early 00s' comics (specifically Star Wars: Republic #60). So Rattatak (her Legends home planet) and her original origin story are very near and dear to my heart. This is important. (btw I'm mostly not OCfying her I'm just mixing up some of her versions. mostly.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up: tattoos and marks! made up too much lore for that but here's a bit: I mixed and matched her Legends and canon designs, and changed their meanings because they have fuckass actual meanings. the two things that kinda look like her eyebrows are from TCW and I took them and made them into her family tattoos. In MY mind, those are passed through generations in Rattataki families (by the mother) and those two are the Ventress tatts from the Ventress family. Other than that we have (in the left pic) the 12 (did not draw 12 but there are 12, 6 on each side) tattoos from her Legends design. Their actual explanation is that she got one for each of Ky's killers she murdered. But that's weird so instead for my ver they're mourning tattoos that she got after Ky's death. The things under her eyes are a whole ass mess but they're called decay marks and they're loosely based on concept art and they're basically darker the older/darker sider she gets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(she has another arm I'm just bad at drawing it) Wanted to draw my interpretation of this outfit with my face design for her but I was not working with the cover as a reference so there's a lot missing. For this one I think it's just the outfit she wears in her later Padawan years on Rattatak, or in my AUs as a padawan in general.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they are a mess but some of my layouts and doodles for her outfits: 1) her on-panel Padawan outfit which is basically just a tank top and cargo pants. wanted to draw it so here we are
Tumblr media
2) her ugly ass outfit as a daughter of warlords! girl I know you're like a child but what are you wearing
Tumblr media
3) Personal Jedi Robes design but it's just the previous Padawan design with sleeves and more little changes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(can you tell I enjoy drawing her face like that) these are more AU-oriented 4) Inquisitor Asajj design because I thought it'd be cool idk what she'd doing with the Empire tho 5)Temple guard design but I hate their outfits so it doesn't look good 6) just put her TCW Jedi General robes things. go off girl (I have 3 AUs in my head that fit that premise let's move on)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Put them together just because. The drawings have nothing to do with each other 7) This one's story is so complex. But it's basically just a design for Jedi Asajj post-Order 66. Might develop work on it more but I love the way it looks
And the other one: If you followed any of my disarrayed Asajj thoughts lately you might have seen my concept of Mon Mothma/Asajj as a ship. They won't leave my mind so I'm trying to figure out how to draw Mon and that one's something of a design for a younger Senator Mon, for their first meeting or smth idk
OK! just put together some thoughts now that I have visual aid for them. great thanks for coming to my TED talk I will continue talking about Asajj but now I can show you shit instead of just writing words woooohhhh

“Come on buddy, don’t ya wanna make a lil deal with lil ol’ me?”
I’ve been on a bit of an equivalence high recently as anyone following me may have guessed haha ^-^
For anyone who’s interested I’ve written some of my thoughts on demon!Mabel below the cut :3
First things first let's talk about her style and general appearance, cause I feel like I’ve deviated a fair bit from the previously established fancy suit she’d been portrayed as having like Dipper.
My logic for the change (outside of wanting to try drawing something that isn’t a suit haha) is that I feel she would have more varietyin the outfits she wears compared to Dipper. Looking at the show Dipper was out there wearing the exact same outfit for an entire summer while Mabel (admittedly wearing the same type of clothes) had significantly more variety, wearing a different sweater every episode, some episodes even having more than one, and I feel this would continue to reflect here.
Dipper has his suit and doesn't venture much further then that if he can help it (obviously not to say he doesn't but you know what I mean). Mabel mean while would have a new outfit every day, multiple per day sometimes!
Most of the time I think she would default to a more punk, diy aesthetic because of the inherent creativity of it (which for a typically detail averse artist such as myself was certainly a decision haha), not to mention I can imagine Mabel being like “I’m a literal demon Dipper I gotta go for the outfits with the spikes and chains!”
At the same time she would definitely enjoy trying out a whole host of different styles (to a point though. Some just aren't comfortable, not any more at least, a part of her stolen away with the Transcendence).
I'd need to do some research into clothing styles to say specifically what else she would enjoy, but I can say it's a lot of black with small splashes and highlights of colour. She's also, regardless of style wear lots and lots of jewellery and piercings cause I think she’d like them :3
Switching things up a bit I wanna quickly go over her pins (ie, her queer identities). My hc for demon!Mabel is the same for normal Mabel, being bisexual with a masc preference, and a demigirl (she/her/they/them exploring and trying out various neo pronouns as she encounters them, rotating through them depending on her mood).
Slightly serious tangent, but I know the previously established lore for EAU was that she would be aroace, but in all honesty that never quite sat right with me. Like the only reason she, or subsequently Dipper in the main TAU canon, are aspec is because of the demon-ness, and while I love demons and the demonic as much as the next aroace person, and I adore representation of my identity, the implications aren’t my favourite in the world. Obviously no disrespect to the people behind that decision, (in fact I applaud them on exploring how a character like Mabel might react to people assuming she wants that in this lil fic here :3). Only the maddest of respect to the people who make characters the identities they want them to be :) I just wanted to address it for anyone who like me has read every bit of eau content they can get their grubby lil hands on and noticed that particular difference :p
Besides, this way we get to explore the logistical and moral implications of a character being allosexual while also being an incredibly powerful and immortal being, especially when you get into questions of how she ages herself compared regular humans :3c (I think I'll leave that for another post though haha)
On a different note, another design idea I had was that it'd be really cool if she had a dynamic and moving tattoo that would constantly change and show new (typically pig and star related) designs :) this definitely wasn't inspired by my own inability to come up with and stick to a particular singer design, definitely not.
I also thought it would be neat to differentiate the demonic aspects of her and Alcor's design by giving her feathered wings, rather than the typical bat wings. I mostly just thought it could be nice to try drawing something different, and while Dipper and Mabel are very close and have a fair amount in common they are still very different characters, so it would make sense for their demonic features to differ, even is only slightly. On that note I also gave her a pink outline to her pupils as inspired by this art cause I thought it was neat :3
Anyway I accidentally posted this before I was finished so Imma just take that as a sign to stop and put my other thoughts in a different post haha 😅

My thoughts on common things the show has been hated for:
“The main plots from book have now been replaced with political storylines which no-one asked for”
it’s clear here you did not read the books because Lissas entire plot is her growing into her political power and taking a seat at the table, speaking against injustice and against the crazy policies from extreme royals. Rose consistently explains the political context of what’s going on in the books and especially points about the commodification of dhampir women. This is all in the books AND NOW represented in the show. Don’t know what you mean about main plots because I see a lot of book plots being set up to play out through out the season. Main plot IS Dimitri training Rose to adequately protect Lissa when they graduate. That is EXACTLY what the show is about. if you watch longer than 5 minutes before throwing a fit you would see that. Each episode continues the story in an accurate compelling way, and the developing of characters and relationships begins to show. Most shows have 22 episodes and 10 seasons to see everything. we’ve been given four, of the very beginning, obviously not EVERY SINGLE little thing will be represented yet nor would a word for word adaptation make sense or be interesting because that first book has BEEN done already. But those general elements for the plots and characters are present.
“origins of mythology is gone”
This was NEVER represented in the books, in the sense that everywhere Richelle drew inspiration from wasn’t throughly explained and context for WHY each vampire is who they are. The intro DOES explain the lore for this specific story and weaves bits through dialogue. Don’t know why it was expected to do a deep dive to where certain things come from because that was never the books strigoi were strigoi, moroi were moroi, if you want that it’s interviews and discussions with the author in her inspirations not the show.
“romanian and russian backgrounds of most of the characters”
no one dug their feet in on this until the cast wasn’t fully white, characters were never stated to for sure NOT have these backgrounds. Representation is important and there is still time for this to be seen and represented. Like Dimitri still being from Russia but ppl constantly hated assuming he had no link at all and roza/comrade was gone (it’s not if u haven’t given the show a chance yet). I know this is important to people and don’t want to disregard anyone but using it to hate the show when the movie didn’t explore it that much either let alone the books that mentioned moroi ancestors being from there every once in a while which again could be mentioned in the show.
“Stunts are unrealistic”
they aren’t meant to be it’s a fantasy show with vampire hybrids who are LITERALLY build different to fight vampire monsters
“Outfits are all over the place”
ROYALS wear designer clothing and attend balls and ceremonies.
Non Royals try dressing up for these events but dress “normal”
Dhampirs dress in athletic clothing for training, all black uniforms for various events, and “normal” outfits.
The book discusses Rose dressed more practical as she began taking her training more serious, and the moroi esp royals would be in designer dresses and outfits, non royals wanting to imitate that on a budget which is exactly what’s is represented.
It’s clear the lack of understanding of how television works, we as book readers would LOVE to see every single last word played out EXACTLY how it was in the books but it’s not possible storytelling wise when creating a hit show that lasts and gains viewership. Some things and characters were changed because in the long run it will all come together and make sense both to book plots and the whole story the show is telling. If you weren’t so hellbent on hating this show you would see just how much Sisi, Daniela, and the whole cast play these characters so well, and what is being set up for the season and later seasons. The intention is to have all the books represented across many seasons and to even have bloodlines adapted. but it’s OUR support that will allow that to happen. So tired of the same ridiculous comments most of which stem from racism towards the cast and it’s unacceptable. Having a different/negative opinion is fine but hating and dragging the show down because you can’t open your eyes to what’s on the screen and making comments that are just false or hateful isn’t okay. I’d understand saying that you can’t enjoy this because the books aren’t playing out in the order you expected or wanted, or a character you liked was missing but saying the entire things is the absolute worst because natalie and aaron, the two most important VA characters are gone. natalie is in sonya and mia, a change, but one that connects these characters for many seasons provided direct links to each other to keep them in the show universe, not being gone for a season or two and coming back because a link between one random character to another small character back to another character do you see what I mean? anyways. I’m a virgo mercury and hate seeing things posted that are easily explainable and tear the show down because the cast doesn’t deserve that. Also yes Richelle does love it she doesn’t have to post or be on podcasts talking about how she appreciates the changes, ships victor and robert, loves seeing the show but she does!

Ok, I’ve had a Persona 5 X Shining Nikki AU rattling around in my head for a while now.
If you are interested In my ramblings continue onwards, otherwise I hope y’all have a good day/night!
The only reason this AU exists is because I think P5 and SN’s stories are surprisingly similar in theme. Just with the “let’s believe in humanity and save it while using powers that come from a place between reality and myth” thing going on. Also, I’m not super into angst or lore in this AU. I could conjure up some if people are interested, but most of this is fluff headcannonimg. Also Also this is a chaotic mess of a post, so apologies for very disjointed thoughts at times, but I couldn’t care more for organization right now.
In my own personal head cannon of SN, the way I describe how styling power works is that, stylists can use and or make their own Designer Reflections freely, however they cannot use other people’s. (Ex: Nikki can use her own, but she can’t use Momo DR). The only person who can use DR made by another stylist is the player. (My player is named Lily Kayla so that is what I will be referring to her as!). Nikki simply has more styling power than most people and Lily Kayla is the one who channels other DRs for Nikki to use.
Now, I don’t particularly care whether Nikki, Lily Kayla, and Momo go to the P5 universe, or if the Phantom Thieves go the SN universe. I have ideas for both which I will now ramble about. SN in P5 is here if you scroll down a bit.
Phantom Thieves in the Shining Nikki Universe
If the PTs go to the SN universe, I think they would be considered stylists and their Persona would transfer over into having a main style. Here’s a list that I will makeup on the spot now along with which nation style they would best fit into!
Joker: cool, north or apple
Mona: cool or cute, apple
Skull: fresh, apple
Panther: Sexy or cute, apple
Fox: elegant, cloud
Queen: cool or sexy, north
Oracle: cool, wasteland or ruin
Noir: cute, pigeon or Ninir
Crow: elegant and then cool, Ninir change to north
Violet: elegant or cute, Ninir or pigeon
There’s a lot of “cool” in there I know, but I just think it fits.
And now jumping into character interactions because that’s the main reason why I like crossover stuff in the first place.
I think Lily Kayla would totally show the ark off to the PTs. She would also show off a lot of DRs which she has acquired. Sorika (SN’s version of the gentlewoman thief) would definitely be on the list to show off. I think Lily would also show off or meet up with Ai, simply for Futaba’s sake. I could also see possibly something coming up the Justiciars and the PTs could go and meet Zoey’s crew. Maybe Zoey could show Ann more ways to use her whip along with general gun skills. I’d like to think that Nikki would surprise them with how good her gun skills are, or something of the sort.
Lily Kayla, Nikki, and Momo would definitely take the PTs on like, a small tour or something (I have no idea how big Miraland actually is). Yusuke would definitely get lost looking at something and I think he would just have a good time in general. I also want the cat not cats to talk to each other. See how that conversation would go or something. I think Futaba would also freak out at the prospect of Ruin Island until the Phantom Thieves come to find out what happened.
The entire Glow arc along side Modric having the ability the remove people memories with music could definitely be connected with Maruki’s entire thing. The PTs and the Shining Gang would have some interesting topics that they could convene on.
Oh! Nikki and Lily Kayla would definitely dress the PTs up with their extensive wardrobe. I actually have a picture I drew of the PTs in casual outfits, but I won’t add it here because I’m not even halfway through and I could still keep going. I also think Lily would like to show off their models guns and swords which they own for the purpose of ✨fashion✨. That’s mostly the gist of this half of the au. There’s definitely more that I’ve thought of, but I’ll cut this part short before it turns into a small fanfiction.
Shining Nikki in the Persona 5 Universe
I think that Nikki and Lily Kayla would be in the P5 universe thanks to one of Aeon’s experiments. They would initially end up in Momentos, and whether they met the PTs while they were in Momentos or after they escape from it, I don’t really care. I’m just kinda open to anything really.
Because Lily Kayla is the only one who has access to multiple DRs, I think she would be placed in the wildcard/velvet attendant spot. Specifically, I think she would be Nikki’s velvet attendant and Nikki would be considered the wild card. I think that upon first arrival that Justine and Caroline would throw her in a jail cell and Joker would have to bargain with them (maybe a plea deal or something) to get her out. From then on Lily doesn’t go near the Velvet Room anymore. (I also have a drawing of Lily in an attendant outfit, but as stated before, unless someone asks for it I’ll leave it for a different post). (I should also make Nikki a PT outfit!!).
DRs would change from having style elements to Metaverse Elements. Here are a few outfits I think would get used often and what element I think they would have. (Btw, I’m going off of my own personal collection, so if there’s a better DR which would fit an element that I don’t have, that’s why I didn’t mention it! :)) (also please keep in mind that I’ve never actually played P5 or P5R, I’ve just watched RTgame play it on twitch/youtube)
Zoey•Bloodthirsty Queen: Gun/Physical
Caprico•Cold Flame: Nuke/Electric
Yunikina•Song of Dawn: Ice
Erinka•Banquet of Passion: Fire
Qin Yi•Phoenix out of Palace: Fire
Yuntan•Fleeting Dream: Wind
Mercury•Elves’ Prayer: Bless/Light
Nikki•Guides of Star: Bless/Light
Sorika•Night Camouflage: Curse/Dark
Ai•Virtual Adventure: Electric
Aeon•Sea Mist: Psychic
Etc. I think you get the idea because I could list DR and what metaverse element I think they could be forever, but I’m going to stop myself here. I think Lily Kayla would often switch who she’s using just to get a feel for who’s good for what.
But, general overview, most of Zoey’s DR are gonna by gun/physical, Caprico’s or anyone from Ruin is gonna be Nuke or Electric, Lilith’s Curse/Dark, Nikki, Stars, and Light elves are Bless/Light, etc. etc. (if you want to know more then ask and I’ll respond!)
MOVING ON!!! —->
I think Lily Kayla in the real world (outside of Momentos) would be incorporeal. Kinda like Morgana where unless you’ve seen them in the Metaverse or know that they exist, they’ll be a ghost or Phantom (haha) otherwise.
Speaking of Lily Kayla!! Because she is basically my OC at this point I have some extra points I’d like to bring up. She’d probably make the connection from the Velvet Room to the Ark and talk to either Justine and Caroline or Joker about the Sea of Souls vs the Ocean of Memories. I think Lily Kayla would rope Nikki into telling the PTs about how they defeated the Goddess of Desire from their world sometime after the PTs explain how Momentos and Palaces work. Also, she’d be absolutely horrified by the fusions. Perhaps ever traumatized. Lily’s way of summoning DR in this world is through her mirror thing. As long as she has that, I kinda think it would work like a compendium of sorts.
When the DRs get summoned in Momentos, Lily and Nikki can control what elements from the outfit and the memory get summoned. Key word can. Most of the time I think they would just summon the whole outfit and memory to save the trouble, but I do think in certain times that specific parts of an outfit could be summoned at a time. (Ex: like only summoning Zoey’s Gun, Netga’s Mech or any other accessory to an outfit. With only summoning memories, it’d only be so that Lily or Nikki could talk to them or get advice from them).
Now for outside stuff that could happen!! Maybe once Lily Kayla becomes more physical (or maybe not I’m not picky) she and Nikki would probably just hang around the PTs and maybe crash at someone’s place. (Probably Haru’s). Joker (I’m calling P5 Protag Joker because I don’t have a preference on his name) would make them curry and I know that Nikki would fall in love with it. She’d probably want to cook with Joker sometime, but Lily Kayla would stop her before she could make something that even Yexiao couldn’t swallow.
Depending on how you interpret NG+, Nikki and Joker could get along with being tortured time travel buddies. Joker and Lily could get along we being the receptive “wildcard” of their group too. Lily would still probably introduce the thieves to a few of their friends from back home by summoning their memories.
Okay!! This post is long enough, I’m definitely cutting myself off here!! If even one person asks more about this insane crossover, then I’d be happy to write more about it, but for now this will satisfy me! If anyone gets to the bottom of this post, congrats! I’m glad you found me and my very niche demographic of P5 and SN fan who also happens to like fluffy crossover stuff! I hope to see you again soon!

My not so official-official review of the New Tales From the Borderlands
SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!!!
So not that anyone asked for this but I wanted to share my thoughts on NTFTBL.
This is just my opinion. I know there’s people out there who enjoyed the game and there’s other people out there who didn’t, not trying to ruffle any feathers
I want to start off by saying that I think the game had a lot of potential story wise and I think a lot of fun things could’ve been done with it.
Overall however, I found the story to be lacking in a lot of areas and I thought the dialogue was stiff and overall just… wasn’t all that funny even when they were trying to be funny.
It really felt like the writers ignored a lot of the lore. I was really really disappointed to see them throw pre-established lore out the window regarding Sirens and the Eridians as well as destroying Rhys’ character.
I really wanted to like the protagonists but I found it difficult and honestly Octavio annoyed me a little bit but I was still irritated to find out that he DIES???
You’re telling me a space craft plummets to Promethea and only ONE of them dies? How do only two manage to survive let alone any of them? To have only Octavio die It just felt like they didn’t know where to take Octavio’s story so the best solution was to kill him off. it felt like lazy writing as did a lot of the other writing in the game.
There was also supposed to be this story line about Susan turning PEOPLE into GUNS I guess but it’s literally not mentioned a single time in the entire game.
I really would’ve liked to see Timothy in this game, or even other characters from previous games that was more than the VERY brief moments that Sasha is mentioned, you see Fiona at the very end of the game and Athena is apparently the CEO of Hyperion?? (I’d like some backstory on how that happened because wtf).
That being said there were parts of the game I enjoyed!
I really liked the vault landers and the battles were a lot of fun but I do wish characters from the Pre-Sequel had vault landers too, it feels like TPS is forgot about a lot and that bums me out because it’s such a fantastic game.
I thought the customizations were fun, with the ability to change outfits, customize Anus tech goggles, Frans wheelchair and Octavio’s Echodex which made it feel more like a borderlands game and less of an interactive story which I liked!
The mini games were also fun when it came to hacking things and I thought it was very creative.
Lor 💕💕
Overall I was really disappointed with the game, and I’m glad I bought it when it was on sale instead of paying full price for it because I don’t think it was worth that much. The game had potential and I think the writers could’ve done more and I hope that the next Borderlands game feels more like a borderlands game.

Thoughts on the 2022 MH Movie
Alrighty, I think I’ve observed enough to throw my thoughts out into the fandom. Obviously, everything g1 reigns supreme in my heart and I personally was not a fan of g2, but g3 seems to be relatively okay so far. Like it’s barely passing, but it’s passing. Don’t worry, I’ll try not to be a scathing or anything, just my random thoughts and opinions.
Now, the movie. Oof. In general, I am not a fan of live action movies and think animated media is the way to go, especially with a show like Monster High that has so many unique character designs, models, and powers. With animation, the show has the ability to get kooky and freaky with its characters’ emotions and powers without it looking tacky or cringy on low-budget CGI and actors. That being said, the Monster High movie was okay, very average.
What I liked or thought was okay:
Going in and watching it, I had to constantly remind myself that g3 is a reboot. Thus, I need to disconnect all I knew about previous incarnations and just observe these characters as separate. That definitely made the watching experience more enjoyable.
I thought the actors did okay and worked well with what they were given, which wasn’t a lot but they worked with it. The dances were hilarious. Some of those backup dancers were putting their heart and soul into their moves. XD
The movie was okay plot wise. Very generic but I was able to follow along and it set a decent basis for the new g3 material and lore.
Frankie. G1 Frankie never was my favorite character because she was such a plain main character, but I really love movie Frankie. Their quirkiness is one of the very few saving graces of the movie. I was afraid they would come off as annoying but I genuinely loved their scenes.
Now, I must admit, I am a greater fan of side characters in most shows than main characters, Abbey being no exception in MH. I personally loved her design and costume. Her hair! I love it! One of the few looks in the movie that were good in my opinion. Also, just the sheer joy and relief at seeing her back after g2 wiped her away. (a huge reason the g2 movies sucked.) (the g2 series was acceptable in my book since those included her)
Those tiny blink and you’ll miss it moments of Heath and Abbey interacting in the background is what kept me going through this movie.
The songs. The only other saving grace besides Abbey and Frankie. I must admit, I generally enjoy musicals so that gets a pass from me. Once again, pretty generic but they’ve all got good voices. Coming Out of the Dark and the Three of Us were my favorites.
Personality-wise, Draculara was okay and her outfit was pretty cute. You just have to remember to separate g1 Draculara in your mind from what we have now. I kind of like the perfectionistic pressure we see her getting from her dad. A very basic trait but I like it because it’s relatable for most perfectionists (me).
Clawdeen’s dad is so sweet and supportive. One of the best original things to come out from the movie.
What I disliked:
While the overall plot was passable, there were so many things that didn’t make sense.
like half human, half werewolf? Really?! Why? She’s 75% human? There was no point!
Also, that whole skatepark scene that shows Clawdeen’s ears? I guarantee no human would’ve batted an eye about that. I just found that whole scene ridiculous.
Monsters hate witches and witchcraft? Frick Casta Fierce, amiright.
but then Cleo mentions she did magic when she used to be human? Like, what?
Then there’s Draculara, a vampire, chilling over in the corner practicing witchcraft in the toilet. Huh? What correlation does she have to witchcraft?
Clawdeen x Deuce?! No. NO! Just absolutely NO!
The entire humans hate monsters thing and vice versa is such a flat plot point. So much for MH being accepting of everyone and their freaky flaws. I really miss that core message.
I seriously miss the variety of familiar characters. I get though that formulating costumes and renewing the rights to all their characters would be tedious, but still! Gimme all my babies back!
Isn’t Heath’s actor older than most of the cast? He definitely looks it.
I’m kinda between on this but I mostly dislike that it’s reminiscent of Disney Descendants quality but on an even cheaper budget. Did they have to do the choreography like that?
Cleo and Deuce break up is a major hate factor for me. There wasn’t enough elaboration or reason given. WHY?!
Also, where are Cleo’s bandages???
Lagoona. I know a lot of the fandom disliked the entire revamp. It’s not my favorite, but I don’t completely despise it. I think they should’ve renamed her to just be a completely different character or Lagoona’s cousin or something.
The Jekyll and Hyde villain was not it. Did not really enjoy it but at least he had reasonable motives I guess. Like, it’s heavily implied his dad got lynched, pretty gutsy move.
Also, the villain power up climax was really anticlimactic for me. Like he drinks the potion and has the ability to take everyone’s powers and no one runs away! The farthest they run is outside. Then, they all just stand there and talk it out and Komos stands there all powered up doing nothing. Bro, if they don’t have the common sense to run, just attack already.
Ghoulia. They’ve massacred my poor girl. I don’t know what else to say. (Not blaming the actress at all.)
Well, that’s all I can think about right now. I’ll probably share my thoughts on the animated series later.

My late entry on @sasori-mini-bang
Day 2
Free day
Forgive me for any mistakes in writting. Being non-native speaker gives a lot of insecurities while doing this.
I’ll keep things under the cut because as it turned out I’ve written much more than intended. If you are just for picture it’s at the end of the cutted text
“canvas”
“White walls everywhere, something coarse around neck and arms and question inside suicidal mind ‘where am I?’. Person stared blankly at the ceiling until familiar voice could be heard.
- You are finally awake, danna… What were you even thinking?
Sasori breathed hardly on plain hospital bed and glimpsed at long, blonde hair. It was his very close friend and coworker Deidara; sitting on the side of the bed with guilt and despair painted on his face. A chair was taken by naping girl with which awakened patient had good contacts with. Dei touched her hip and calmly said:
- Karin? I think our boy is finally on this world.
Redhair needed a while to understand this sudden awakening and after realizing circumstances jumped with big grin on her face, covering lying mans wounded neck with pastel sweater, trying to say “Sas, it’s you! You are alive!” While choking her tears and forcing them to stay inside of her.
- You’re so lucky that you woke up perfectly at your birthday. - Deidara stated with subtle smile.
- W-what? My birthday? Guys, how long have you been sitting here? - Sasori tried to count when he decided to end his life and the time he’s been lying here. It was at 7th of november. Intrusive thoughs started taking advantage of bright, pretty mind. This parody of real human was here exactly one day, sleeping and healing wounds while people close to this empty shell were wasting their precious time to watch it breathe. ‘Why?’; the question occured. ‘Why?’.
- I wasn’t here pretty lon-
- You slept on the chair Karin. You’ve been sleeping for one and half of a hour.
- I WAS MEDITATING! Anyway- I’m glad you woke up, because now I can give you this to your hands and not on the table. - Karin handled scorpio a neatly packed book.
Whole trio was watching together glued pictures with precious, carefully selected memories. Bandaged hands were softly touching every canva of adventures which could be preserved on paper forever, just like birthday boy always wanted things to be. Something broke him; something shaked his porcelain head and made doll-esque face finally shout out loud all of the bottled emotions.
- I can’t believe you love me that much! I-I. I’m so-rry.
- Don’t sorry for anything. It’s not your fault. - blonde whispered while hugging tightly shattered doll.
- We just happened to naively think you’re finally okay. - redhairs glasses rubbed against Sasoris shoulder.
Scorpion grasped - He was not alone anymore. Tears at last dripped and fell on his friends faces, arms took the same position as when he wanted to feel comfort and touch from his puppets, corners of the lips gone up. Thoughs changed into words
- I’m finally home.”
Tumblr media
Yay! Writting part took me way too much space; I’m not a fanfiction writter. Or at least I thought I’m not. It’s my first ever take in digital collage so no wonder it’s- ugh…. Halfbaked? And Sasori pick got pixalated :’^(
If anyone wants a bonus lore - this page shows that one time when whole three gone on Body Worlds in far away city, so on the way to the exhibition they took a small trip into a palace, and day after arrival and main attraction trio went to see doll houses museum and festive where you can wear hand-made outfits by local tailors and buy and/or pose in them. On a way back they headed to well known park in one of the cities.
Anyway - I hope it was enjoyable.
You can treat this as direct continuation from day 1 or as entirely different timeline.

ok here is my objectively correct ranking of chandler groover fl stories (sorry there was a recent study independently conducted by me that determined my subjective opinion of fl is actually objectively correct)
1. Cricket, Anyone? - yeah, I'm basic. what about it. everyone talks about how the lore reveal is cool (and it is) but also more importantly: its funny. i love when fallen london has jokes
2. Por Una Cabeza - this one is actually tied for first. i think cricket is more ICONIC (and funnier overall) but I think this one might be a stronger narrative. Which one is actually in first depends entirely on which one i thought about most recently
3. Paisley - it was hilarious that right around when this story came out, which is all about making outfit changes to unlock more story, fbg tried to do the outfit lock thing. lol. perhaps even lmao.
4. Codename: Sugarplum - I don't think you could conceive of an animal that i would be less interested in trying to help than a miniature dachshund. but this story was pretty fun anyway
5. SALON SCANDAL! - A little creativity in presentation goes a long way when youre playing a bunch of exceptional stories in quick succession, and a story that is a flashback to not long after you arrived in London, where you not only get to choose your own choices, but what is at least publicly considered to be The Truth of the situation? That's fun! That's novel! I even like the fact that you don't ever get to learn what ACTUALLY happened- did you lie to the reporter? Did you tell the truth? Does it matter? What you told him is what people know. That's functionally the truth. But this one gets points off for deciding my character's motivations for me in the end, and also because the base story is kinda boring.
6. my kingdom for a pig - sorry for being a big thicky bo-bo but this one gets points off for the whole ending sequence being confusing to me. There's a particular style of writing that shows up a lot in FL where things are evocatively written, but vague and abstract. Some people really like this. That's why SMEN is popular, and people claimed to have enjoyed Flint. I think it sucks! My brain just slides right off them because I can't find something concrete to actually hang onto. I managed to grasp what was happening in this one a little better than other examples of this style of writing (see: Flint, which is my nemesis and I will not rest until I see it slain) but it's still a little off-putting to me and I don't enjoy it. Also I can't stop thinking about the way that FL tells you about it's lore, which is to say, it doesn't really. What the fuck is a Stone Pig? I mean, I know because I read the wiki, but what if I was just trying to learn about FL by playing it? Where does this come up? I think it's just in Sunless Sea, and here. And maybe a little mention in the Taste of Lacre stuff? idk. i also think the stone pigs lore is so rarely brought up that it seems kind of superfluous to the fallen london lore. i dont really know what's added by there being another animal that lives on/in the bazaar that propels it through the high wilderness. i would have just assumed that was like. a power it had. "How does the bazaar travel between stars?" is not a question i would have asked because i would have assumed it can just. do that.
7. caveat emptor - i was really on board with this one when i started it, because i was like "oh cool its like fallen london dracula!!! i love it when they do classic lit in the exceptional stories" but i think it kinda got up its own ass with its own lore, and lost the Dracula energy and also didn't have any of the humor that I really liked in the best groover stories
7. the hurlers/discordance storyline - remember above, when I said that I don't like the poetic but vague style of writing that is common in fl?? Yeah. the discordance stuff is also easier for me to follow than Flint but it is, unfortunately, kind of annoying. its all like "you DONT walk up the stairs and you DONT go into the anchoress's kitchen and you CERTAINLY ABSOLUTELY DO NOT eat all her doritos and then leave the bag on the counter" like ok i get it. youre being so obscure and mysterious. heres a medal. can we just get to the story already.
9. the crocodile who would be king - what even happened in this one. what was i trying to achieve. im sure all you smarty smart heads are gonna read this and be like 'UMMMMM irrigos it was VERY clear" but please consider the fact that i am disabled and also i am dumb and cant read. why am i here? why did this ask me to help? what am i even trying to help them do? why did this story take like 100 actions? i liked the fact that there was a nemesis tie in at the end though. thats always a hoot.

Idk if you’ve looked more into it but I think the monster high girls look significantly better in doll/animated form. Like that picture of clawdeen is unjustifiably whitewashed, she looks washed out/ashy/grey but the actual doll and cartoon character don’t look like that, I’m almost positive she’s around the same shade as before. I don’t love how light her hair is but it is dyed like most of the characters and hopefully she’ll have more prominent dark hair in other dolls/looks. Cleo looks much better, like she’s actually inarguably a WOC now and not just a white girl with a tan and bandages. Draculaura and Frankie have really minor differences overall like I don’t think that matters much. But lagoona was the least popular of the og dolls and and they clearly gave her a big redesign to hopefully change that? I’m sure she’s pink because ghoulia/Frankie/deuce are all blue/green to set her apart. And she went from a white (blue n blonde) Australian to a Latina like I think that’s a relative improvement? I wish her hair was still curly but I love her new facial features
I’m not even trying to play devils advocate I think the new dolls are much better than the og ones in terms of racial representation, realistic body shapes, and even outfits. Like these characters look a lot more like actual high school girls and not like. Lingerie models in heavy technicolor makeup
Okay, but hear me out, I looked into this stuff and a lot of the changes are WORSE. They basically retconned EVERYTHING in already decently-diverse-for-the-time lore. Just give the new body types to the old stuff that used to be, it would've been fine. Not to mention they're MONSTERS, they don't NEED to be set apart and fit into a humanoid bubble with their makeup, skin/fur color, and all that other stuff if they weren't human-like monsters like Cleo de Nile and such. The entire POINT is that they AREN'T humans. Also sure the outfits could use more variety, but that DOESN'T mean completely ruin and get rid of the styles they had established. Also, don't get me started on the lore issues.
They made Clawdeen straight after the creator said she was lesbian after some initial thought on it and liking the idea for her, but Mattel wouldn't let him roll with it and he told fans to run with it and celebrate it. They literally Thanos snapped her siblings from existence, siblings of which were large impacts on who she is. A majority of the other characters are just Gone. There are already people saying shit about how Draculaura would fit the gothic lolita style, which she was literally styled around in the past but that was taken from her. Oh and why the fuck would they whitewash Lagoona if they wanted to be "racially diverse" with her? She went from "white" to Actually White despite supposedly being Latina. She is a white girl. She's not a light-skinned WOC, she is WHITE.
This isn't just about the damn dolls, this reboot is the epitome of "corporate diverse", AKA "shoving every diversity brownie point they can think of onto characters to make people happy" that they do with EVERY decent series that lasts too long and gets modern reboots, because they know people will eat it up. Not to mention the live-action movie is gonna be directed by Todd Holland, notable racist. I'm not even gonna go into every issue because even just reading this ask gave me a headache. Just know I refuse to budge.

7 Things I Loved About Final Fantasy VII
I finished playing Final Fantasy VII last week – you can read my game archive here!
The game is loved by many players and heavily pushed by Square-Enix, so does it live up to the hype? I think the game is fantastic and I definitely enjoyed playing it, but in my opinion, it is not the best Final Fantasy or JRPG out there.
Tumblr media
That’s not to say I didn’t like it, because I did! Here are 7 things I loved about Final Fantasy VII.
1. Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII
I loved these characters so much!
Final Fantasy 7 has an amazing group of playable characters. Tifa, Aerith, and Red XIII were my favorite. I like Cloud, but it’s hard to not see him as a bit of a phony when you learn the truth about him. shrug
Tifa is a wonderful character. She is strong and soft, feminine and masculine, kind and strict. She is a good balance and overall a very likeable character. Her Limit Breaks were my favorite!
Aerith is lively character. I liked how bold she was and how she spoke her mind. She is soft and gentle but has a very bright personality. I also just liked her pink outfit and her ability to communicate with The Planet (specifically with flowers). Her home in Midgar is really beautiful, too!
Red XIII was a character I wasn’t expecting to like so much, but he is great! He was in my party the majority of the time until I eventually switched him out for Cid. It was purely a strategic move; I like Red more than Cid!
2. Cosmo Canyon
The music, the sunset, the stories!? Perfection.
One of the reasons I grew to like Red so much was because we got to learn more about him and his tribe’s history at Cosmo Canyon. This place has one of my favorite songs in the whole game. I love the indigenous feel the entire place had. It was cool to see a place so different than Midgar. The constant sunset also makes it one of the prettiest places in the game.
3. Limit Breaks
Probably the coolest thing ever!
Limit Breaks are awesome!! I loved how often we got them and how they stayed put if you didn’t use them. As much as I love FFIX, the Trance gauge was always annoying when it would fill at “the wrong time”. I didn’t see everyone’s Limit Breaks, but the ones I did see were very powerful. Cloud and Tifa had my favorite Limit Breaks, but I think Tifa wins as my top favorite because all of her Limit Breaks get executed back-to-back. SO cool!
4. Materia
I’ve never been so happy to see shiny, colorful balls!
While not my favorite system I really liked using materia! It was fun running around and seeing a colorful ball lying around. I definitely got excited every time that happened. The one thing I didn’t like was the more materia you equipped, the more your HP went down. I get it, but I also don’t get it.
5. Battle System/Leveling Up
Classic, turn-based battles make me happy.
I liked how my characters leveled up in this game. It was easy and simple: fight, gain EXP, level up! Even though it’s turn-based combat (which I love), sometimes I felt like the battles were a little too fast. I think I must have had the settings wrong (and kept forgetting to change them) because sometimes it was stressful AF trying to find the correct item to use! I don’t blame the game for that, though. It was definitely my fault for not double/triple checking the settings menu!
6. Music
SO SO SO GOOD!
I don’t think this is the best Final Fantasy game, but it is a top contender for the best Final Fantasy soundtrack! The music in this game is amazing. AH-MAY-ZING. Here are some of my favorite songs: The North Cave, Aerith’s Theme, Cosmo Canyon, Hurry!, Bombing Mission, Tifa’s Theme, Holding My Thoughts in My Heart, Ahead On Our Way, and honestly more but I’ll leave it at that.
7. Game Lore/History
My favorite parts were learning about the past, so interesting!
FFVII has a lot of history and one thing I truly appreciated was learning all about it. We learned a lot from visiting Cosmo Canyon and meeting Red’s grandpa. The scene of him showing us the Planet and teaching us about the Lifestream is one of my favorite parts of the game. I have read articles and watched YouTube videos trying to learn more about the history of FFVII and it’s fascinating!

me, opening tumblr to see a lore post: yes some good fucking food
dude trigger is SO GOOD and so beautifully shot i love it sm. the scene with yeonho’s mouth smoking and then the ominous smile of his clone? the scene of gyehyeon getting pulled into the bathtub?? the STYLING???? good shit. so minchan and the compass- i think it’s a tool for finding the others! we first see the compass in thunder, where minchan is looking for kangmin, and then in gbtb where most of them are separated in their own battles. in get away, we see the compass after vrvr has been kidnapped. i think that minchan’s character is really defined as someone who has “lost his way” and the compass is him trying to find his way back home to his friends. at least that’s my theory? i like your idea of the kangmins being switched again! i think it makes a lot of sense, the switch initially happens in thunder, and the clone kangmin is there in tagx3, lay back gives you the other clones, shit starts happening in get away (and the real kangmin gets threatened by the clones?), and then in trigger the real km finds his way back, and finally in undercover we have the clone km technically back where he belongs with the other clones, but salty about it! i think it’s a pretty good timeline
- vrvr anon <3
LMAO im happy to provide <33 (i. if youre interested in more lore posts. then i also made this small one and this barely-coherent monster.)
NO YEAH LITERALLY trigger is so. SO. just everything its so good hgsjfhfj (i also forgot how good the song was until i did an mv rewatch for lore purposes but WOW). exactlyyyy with gyehyeon-- like. the hand coming out of the water?? wrapping around his neck like that?? him being pulled under?? GOD. and then the entire electric chair scene with yeonho and his clone was just ... y e a h
:O i didnt notice the compass being in thunder!! thats so cool and that makes so much sense, it being to help him find the others-- i wonder if the compass could, in part, sense that kangmin wasnt actually kangmin (not really a thought thats supported by anything in the mvs i just think it could be cool :>)
you describing clone kangmin as being "back where he's meant to be but salty about it" gets me XD like maybe he got used to playing the part of og gyehyeon and actually started to LIKE og vrvr and want to protect them somewhat (since he IS a "part" of the real kangmin), but then he's back with the clones like "ah fuck THESE GUYS again. goddamnit" lol (i can see the clones either using him or him havjng signed up to be like the "orchestrator" of the whole plan, who goes over and infiltrates og vrvr under the guise of being the og km, but when the clones get what they want out of og vrvr and go "okay we're good u can come back now" hes like "but... i dont WANT to come back now :(")
that also sort of explains a discrepancy i had in my memory of events... when you sent the ask about clone km replacing og km in the first place, i used undercover as an example of how kangmin was made to "stand out" from the others (wearing different outfits than both sets of vrvrs as if intentionally mismatched), but when i went back and watched the mv again i was like oh. im actually wrong HSGFJHBJ-- because km's outfits (like in the car chase scene and during the choreo scenes and such) DID actually match the "side" he appeared to be on
gbtb is another mv i need to go back and rewatch (since i only watched it once when i was just getting into vrvr, before i was looking for lore stuff at all)-- where would it fit into the timeline (i dont think you included it in the original vrvr mv timeline you sent me)?

So over on patreon Trevor asked for my take on the Addams Family and I grew up LOVING the Addams family movies so here we are. Instead of doing a straight up style interpretation, I decided to do a full on design challenge, using the characters as bases to make a black southern gothic Addams au. I actually drew the kids first, using the character bases of Wednesday and Pugsley to create some delightful kiddos I'm calling Sunday and Blanche. I of course then redesigned Gomez and Morticia into Carlisle and Mortesha.
The Addams have a very specific high aristocratic goth aesthetic (they've got a butler and nobody really works among other things) so in this re-imagining I wanted to go with vibes that run a little more middle class/upper middle class.  I thought it would be interesting to think about what would be considered weird and off-putting in an entirely different culture, and how being a big ol' goth is way less controversial than it used to be.
I tried to keep this short (HAHAHAHAHAHA) so I didn't spin off into an essay about villain coded families, black people in the horror genre, and normalcy as it pertains to social survival, but just...bits of that are in these designs and lore. Keep that in mind.
Also I made the kids twins because they've flip flopped in age so much in different media and also twins run in my family (i'm the daughter of one). And let's face it, I'm pulling a lot of their southern gothic traits from living as a southern goth so *shrug*.
10 thousand pounds of lore incoming loooooooooool.

From the moment he saw her he knew that there was a 50/50 chance of him either never making it out of that swamp alive or marrying the figure that was creeping out from under the distant willow tree in a black cocktail dress. The third time she found him trussed up in one of her traps, he complimented her rope work and asked if she'd like to go out sometime after his head wound stopped bleeding.
Or while it was still bleeding.
If she was into that.
Some kids and a mysteriously burnt down Piggly Wiggly later, their love is still as strong and inescapable as a bear trap in a sink hole.
Carlisle Guillermo (now Addams through marriage but I wanted to give him two first names for a name since Gomez has two last names) makes a vaguely described living practicing ‘law’ around town. A loophole king, people come to him from miles around with contracts signed in blood, fights over chunks of hair buried in their rivals’ yard, dehydrated primate hands, memories that seemed like dreams until the evidence of their happenings became too real, and other regular Legal Items asking for counsel which he is all too happy to give. For a price. Sometimes that price is a homemade pie and sometimes it’s a million dollars, depends on who you are. Whatever you’re asked to pay it’s worth that price, and if you try to scam him out of work or he just plain doesn’t like you? Well. He knows how to twist a contract better than anything at the crossroads.
And he always gets his due.
He doesn’t just serve the local (living)humans though, there are many things that need proper legal representation in this day and age. You wouldn’t believe how many city councils try to build on sacred burial grounds even after he lets them know that his ghostly clients are totally gonna haunt the FUCK out of the ensuing shitty condos and curse their families for all eternity. At least 50% of his energy goes towards dealing with real estate bullshit.
Carl is an excitable and good natured(?) man who loves his family, cigars, dancing, and his many knife-based hobbies. People find him very charming once they get past the feeling that they’re talking to a sultry gator badly disguising itself as a human. I didn’t put a ton of deep thought into designing him, mostly I wanted to make a middle aged dude who looked like he would have been voted ‘most likely to smooch the literal devil’ in high school. Tbh he probably has, but no demonic ex’s can compare to his lovely wife~
Mortesha Addams(her name was already perfect so I just tweaked it)is a woman of many talents. A self proclaimed homemaker, she prides herself on a greenhouse full of Concerning Foliage, a beautiful wasp apiary, and a coop full of what are probably chickens that she keeps for what are probably eggs. She’s also an avid creator of the outsider art that can be seen around the estate. She has taken on the family business of selling her homemade goods in a little stall by the road just outside the swamp with her mom, and makes pretty good money doing so. A surprising amount of poison gets bought in quaint southern towns.
Speaking of poison, people who come out to the edge of the swamp to buy it are usually carrying a lot of secrets around, and Mortesha knows most of them. It’s not like she pries the truth out of people, it just so happens that many nervous hellos eventually turn into the tragic backstory power hour if she’s alone with a client for long enough. She supposes that’s just how people are. Despite the fact that the Addams are very active in the community (whether the community likes it or not) she especially, as a direct descendant of the first Addams matriarch, is seen as…Well not an outsider because the community feels A Certain Way about outsiders and despite it all the Addams are their people, but maybe something like an exception. They feel like whatever weirdness they’re hiding can’t be weirder than any given Addams, so they get a little loose with their words.
This is amusing to her, since Addams’ don’t naturally keep the kind dramatic secrets that their surface level prim and proper neighbors do. It’s much more fun to openly talk about those things.
Do they have a sadly decrepit yet terrifying grandma up in the attic? Yeah, like three. They got a tv, all the creepy porcelain dolls they could want, and they’re close to family. Where do you keep your gram-grams?
Any bodies buried on the property? Yeah some, but most are thrown to the gators.
Any creeping through the balmy summer night with ill intentions? Yeah dude, everyone loves a nice family stroll.
What about dangerous forbidden love? If an adult Addams isn’t incorporeal then they’re either queer or in a torrid romance with some person/thing mysteriously drawn to that awful swamp. Sometimes both at the same time. Most times actually.
Mortesha would know.
The current head of the Addams family is just as outgoing as her husband but a lot quieter and harder to read. She never really seems to get mad about much and always has a genteel smile for everyone whether they deserve it or not. A seven foot tall human shaped “Oh, bless your heart”. A perfectly composed Lady even when she’s, oh I dunno, burning down a Piggly Wiggly. You know. A regular southern mom. Chat her up at the hair salon for 50% off a jar of wasp honey with your next purchase of a mysterious but foreboding packet of herbs.
Designing her was pretty easy because I just drew a lankier Grace Jones and called it a day. I had some problems with her outfit simply because if we were going HARD southern gothic then she’d probably be wearing a white/cream dress with a fuller skirt but I thought keeping the silhouette and the black was more important. She’s supposed to be an anti southern gothic southern gothic character anyway. A woman who looks like she has a million secrets who is actually the most open person you could meet. For better or worse. The red hair came from a coloring error that I really ended up liking (my mom had red hair her whole childhood that only darkened up in high school so I can buy that an Addams can be naturally fire engine red) and the veil was to get more of that classic Morticia silhouette in there.
The Children
Sunday and Blanche are the twin children of Carlisle and Mortesha Addams. Some say the Addams clan got their cursed homestead when a wealthy local businessman made a deal with the devil and lost, leaving his grand mansion to his least favorite maid and cutting his losses once he realized that the swamp would do everything it could to drag the house into the water and take what was owed with its horrible curse. Others say that the family has just always squatted there and no one really cares because man, fuck that particular swamp. Have you been in there? Absolute horror show.
Anyway.
Blanche is the more outgoing sibling and quite the engineer/mad scientist in the making. He started going grey at 2 weeks old but considering he was also rocking some extra fingers, toes, and a tiny tail (he takes after his dad), his parents just put it on the 'not life threatening' pile and decided not to worry about it. He's the kind of smart that teachers find utterly infuriating, less a dog eagerly learning and obeying commands and more a hyena who keeps teaching itself how to pick locks. He has a few friends in his school's robotics club (which they honestly allowed him to make so the school could contain his... creations) but mostly hangs out with his sister exploring the swamp. They find all sorts of neat things in there! wedding rings, suspiciously lumpy garbage bags, cloaked cultists who can't read private property signs, it's an adventure every day!
Blanche is all about experimentation with his creations, his look, and his tether to this mortal coil. Is lipstick a cool thing to try? Let's find out. Can he get out of a strait jacket fast enough after being pushed into the depths of the swamp by his sister? let's find out. He's not dead yet and confused local doctors can attest to the fact that he's rarely attained more than a bad bruise so he's pretty set on continuing to kiss rattlesnakes on their cute little heads and have his sister practice her knife throwing at him until that fact changes.
Blanche is very much a country goth. Cowboy boots (customized by his mom), knife, and lighter are daily accessories. He likes to wear the crusty swamp jewelry they find (the rust adds a splash of color!) and despite appearances he does try to keep himself neat. He's just got  natural Grunge Colors and a tendency to wear clothes he likes until they fall apart. Pugsley always seemed the most modernly styled to me (which might just be because little boys clothes have been the same for a long time) so I wanted Blanche to be the most purposely fashionable Addams. Everyone else is goth by nature, but he's the only one truly familiar with goth as an alternative fashion.
I got really into designing Blanche because honestly, I find Pugsley to be the most boring member of the family. And he was hard to design! I had to mess with his vibe a lot to get him looking how I wanted. I know he's supposed to evoke an " 'evil' little boy next door who's parents never reign him in", but that's just goth Dennis The Menace.  I's 2020. We can at least go queer goth Calvin.
Sunday was much easier to design. Wednesday was my favorite as a child (of course) and I really wanted to keep the spirit of her look while adding things like billowy sleeves (it gets HOT down here), big poofy twists instead of braids, and a nice tie. She's a professional after all, been running the local pet cemetery since she was 6 and the previous groundskeeper met with an unfortunate accident after telling her that tarantulas don't have souls. Her specialty is creating beautiful naturalistic animal funerals similar to those that Maquenda (https://linktr.ee/artofmaquenda) makes, and she takes pride in creating miniature dioramas of her subjects after each burial which she uses as a kind of 3D catalog for future clients.
She really wants to try out her skills on humans one day. Well. Publicly try out her skills. Lotta random bodies float into the swamp. None of them have turned down her requests for diorama models so far. Most seem downright flattered. Plus, she usually figures out which graveyard/crime scene they floated over from and gets her parents to give them a lift back. She'll even help enact terrifying revenge from beyond the grave on whoever put them there if she's not, y'know, busy.
Besides arts, crafts, and pet based funerary arrangements, Sunday is an avid lover of archery (any ranged weapon really), books where little fantasy adventure animals die dramatic deaths, and history. She is That Kid who eagerly raises her hand when asked who Christopher Columbus was and ends up being sent out of class after 15 minutes for making 'a scene'. Her favorite party trick is just picking an item in the room and talking about how it relates to either some obscure historical figure with a buck wild life or a horrible disaster. At least one charity pancake breakfast ended with children in tears after her vivid description of the Great Molasses Flood of 1919.
Social-wise, while Wednesday is the girl that people ask to smile because they think she'd, "look so pretty", Sunday is rarely asked anything at all. People just kind of assume from her quiet nature (in between horrible history facts) that she's angry all the time and that she hates everyone. This is untrue. She hates some people but she's ambivalent to most everyone else and even downright friendly if you bother to talk to her like a person instead of a terrifying cryptid. Like, she IS a terrifying cryptid but she's also a little girl.
That’s about it for now. One day I might do the other family members but for now I’m happy with the four I’ve redesigned. Making an au! Lurch in a family that doesn’t do butlers could be interesting. Over on patreon I put forth that he could just be Motesha’s mute little brother (similar bone structure) but Amy Crook had the nice idea of quote: “ a mysterious "cousin" that "helps around the house" whose origins are both long in the past and faintly unsettling. He's good for lifting heavy things, like that tank of propane you're about to throw into the burning Piggly Wiggly... “ which i now consider canon. Who's kid is he? How old is he? Not important. Anyone willing to commit arson with you is family.
Annnnyway.  This challenge was a lot of fun! I love indulging in AU’s.

On Kong Kenan/Super-Man
It should've been him. He should've been the Superman of 5G/Future State/right now not Jon, and he should be the one getting an HBO Max series not Val. Hell he should be getting a movie!
Tumblr media
God this dude is literally the best legacy character Superman has ever gotten, wholly his own person with his own lore and status quo while still building on the idea of "Superman". I am so pissed at DC for essentially just dropping him after his ongoing ended, what the hell Lee? You keep trying to make the Wildstorm characters happen, I need you to get my man Yang another Kenan book.
Have to admit I was a bit nervous at first about whether or not Kenan would be a worthwhile character. Yang's New 52 Superman run had been a disappointment to me overall, with only the the arc where Superman has underground wrestling matches against forgotten gods really sticking with me. Now he was introducing a brand new Superman? Didn't feel like he had "earned" that yet. But from the first issue I was hooked on this new character.
Tumblr media
Kenan was unlike any other member of the Superfamily. He wasn't kind or sweet, he was an asshole! He was a bully! He was fantastic! Right from the start Kenan was set up to undergo a very different kind of character journey than the other members of the Superfamily. Empathy, humility, respect for people weaker than himself, these are all traits most heroes wearing the S-shield already posses by the time they first don the crest, but not Kenan.
Like all bullies he was even a bit of a coward himself at first, trying to bail on the experiment meant to give him Superman's powers right as it begins. After "saving" Lixin (the kid he bullies and steals lunch from every day) from Blue Condor he demands all the money Lixin has on him as payment. He's not courageous or selfless either at the start, Kenan is as much of an opposite of Superman as you can get short of being Bizarro. Learning the appeal of these traits formed the basis for his growth over the course of his series.
Seeing Yang bring in a lot of recognizable "Superman" elements in the series, but with a twist, was also great. Kenan is the one who bullies "Luo Lixin" rather than the traditional Clark/Lex friendship of Pre-Crisis and Birthright. Initially Kenan develops a crush on intrepid reporter for Primetime Shanghai, Laney Lan, but she dismisses him as too young and Kenan eventually ends up pursuing Avery Ho (Flash) instead. Baxi the Bat-Man of China has a similar relationship with Kenan as the traditional Superman/Batman in terms of being vitriolic best buds, however Baxi is the one who has the most respect for authority while Kenan is the rebel. Kenan is a part of the "Justice League of China" which does not meet with the approval of the already established Chinese superheroes, the Great Ten. That contrasts nicely with the good relationship the Justice Society and Justice League have, as well as seeing Yang lampshade the "Chinese copy" trope and incorporate that into his storytelling.
One of the funniest differences is how Kenan chooses to immediately reveal his identity as Super-Man to the world by taking off the compliance visor he was forced to wear, contrasting with Clark's choice to hide his identity. He was so eager to impress people that he never gave any thought to the danger he could put himself or his family in by revealing his identity until it was too late, something Clark is well aware of and has taken great pains to keep his identity secret. Was a missed opportunity for DC to have Kenan comment on Clark copying him for once when he outed himself under Bendis.
But one of the most poignant differences between Clark and Kenan is the gulf in separation between their relationship with their parents. Clark has a loving relationship with Ma and Pa Kent, trying to live up to their lessons as best he can. In contrast Kenan's mom was believed to have died in an airplane crash when he was just a child, and he never really knew her. His father was distant from him after that and the two weren't really close despite Kenan's attempts to impress him. So Kenan lacks that strong connection while still clearly loving both of them.
Pa Kent's death is one of the most tragic examples of Clark's love for his parents, and I've always been a fan of takes where Clark promises his father to fight for the powerless on Pa's deathbed. Kenan gets a similar scene at the start of his career, his dad "dies" (after being exposed as Flying General Dragon, a pro-democracy "supervillain" from the Chinese authorities perspective) and wants Kenan to promise he'll fight for Truth, Justice, and Democracy. But because Kenan's dad never really bonded with him, Kenan doesn't know what those mean, and can only promise that he never wants to see people die, something his father takes comfort in at least. In classic comic book fashion it's revealed that Dr. Omen, Kenan's "boss" and the one who gave him his powers, saved Kenan's father, because she is Kenan's mother! Kenan's relationship with his parents forms a lot of the crux of his character arc, and seeing how Yang utilizes the classic Superman concept of family kept the storytelling exciting.
Yang's brilliant exploration of the concept of "Superman" through the prism of Chinese culture was a great way to differentiate Kenan as well.
Tumblr media
I absolutely freaking love how he tied to the concept of Qi to the S-shield in particular. Connecting the shape of the shield with the way Kenan has acquired his powers along the path of the Bagua (eight trigrams used in Taoism that represent the fundamental principles of reality), with his octagon S-shield outline representing all eight principles together, was mindblowing! So was the idea of restricting Kenan's access to his powers unless he was actually acting in a Superman manner, that tied his character growth to his power growth in an entertaining manner. There were so many characters and concepts that meshed Chinese and DC lore together, like how Emperor Super-Man was Kenan's "Doomsday", they even recreated that iconic dual kill shot! The Chinese Wonder Woman Peng Deilan, being based on the Chinese Legend of the White Snake! There was even some Korean mythology referenced with the Aqua-Man member of the JLC "Dragonson".
Yang also managed to do a Superman Blue/Superman Red story with Super-Man Yin/Super-Man Yang!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Shameful that it took me a while to realize what Gene Yang was doing but once I caught on I was touched. You can tell how much Yang loved Superman and his mythology, and how he was excited to incorporate as much from Clark as he could, while still using it in a way that was solidly Kenan's. And not just Superman's mythology, but the history and lore of the entire DC Universe. I-Ching got to be brought in, fleshed out, and used as Kenan's mentor! The "Yellow Peril" villain from Detective Comics #1, the comic DC gets its name from was brought in and revamped as I-Ching's twin brother All-Yang! Hats off to Yang for taking a racist caricature and attempting to make him into something more.
This series was a beautiful attempt by Gene Yang to build a space for Asian heroes and villains where they could be more than stereotypes, Kenan himself being a defiant mold-breaker in every regard as the complete opposite of most Asian characters in Western media (a jock, a bully, loves his dad but not on great terms with him, a powerhouse as a hero, etc). So much thought and hard work was poured into this by Yang and his team of artist collaborators.
Especially the costumes, man Kenan had so many great looks. From his starting outfit (which is my favorite Superman variant not worn by Clark himself), to the one with the Yin/Yang shield he acquired later on, to his Super-Man Yin & Super-Man Yang outfits, Kenan looked damn cool. Part of me is bummed they didn't go with the Chinese character shield they toyed around with, but I loved how Yang used the "s-shield" as a plot point, so I'm not too broken up over it.
Tumblr media
All that great work Yang did to build that space up has been more or less forgotten sadly. It was nice to see Kenan in the DC Asian Month Celebration issue. Avery is going to be in Justice Incarnate at least (unsurprising considering she was created by Williamson). So fucking bummed that Superman Family Adventures cartoon didn't happen, they were going to have Kenan and John Henry Irons in it! Would've been a dream come true for me to see Irons in animation again, and Kenan making the jump to outside media! Maybe that would've encouraged DC to let Yang keep writing New Super-Man, or at least encouraged them to use him elsewhere instead of allowing him fall into Limbo.
Unfortunately I'm not sure what the future holds for Kenan. Jon is being pushed as Clark's replacement in the comics, with DC keeping all the other contenders such as Kon benched. Calvin is leading the Justice Incarnate team likely due to the upcoming Coates reboot that will make Clark black. Val will probably get something once Taylor leaves Jon's book or once they officially announce the HBO Max show is happening. So where does that leave Kenan, my new favorite PoC legacy hero? Currently my only hope is that Yang is working on something for DC involving him. Yang left Batman/Superman, where I was hoping to see a Baxi/Kenan team up, to go work on "exciting other opportunities" per his Twitter. So fingers crossed that there's something in the works for Kenan!
Tumblr media
One day I hope he gets his day in the sun again.
