No seriously looking back on this year there was no middle ground. It was either the Best most Amazing things or the absolute Kill-Yourself worst. Need a year of even keel normalcy with some everyday types of joy and sorrow in 2024 pls.

#Bad: mom got diagnosed with cancer. violently SA'd in an alleyway. couldnt find a job and ended up workking minimum wage retail #had to go on food stamps. OD'd on a mystery drug. #Good: mom had surgery and is now in remission from cancer. i finished my MA with a perfect score. travelled in Europe for 3 months. #found some cats in the backyard and took them in. got a job at one of the most elite firms in my field completely out of the blue #like... no middle ground #its insane #and like these were all happening concurrently #one after the other #heard my mom was in remission and went out to celebrate and was SA'd on the way home #that kind of concurrent

My phone and laptop are both playing music rn and both playlists are alphabetical and very roughly the same length, but with different songs on for most optimal ‘contrasting simultaneous audio inputs’ settings for my stupid brain times, and I really gotta say, I don’t think there’s anything quite like “Fear” by Disturbed playing in front of you while “Fergalicious” plays behind you.  Something something reach in and physically jangle the neurons.

#anon #come with me and play my games. we'll have cowboy times in space. #ALSO i was an ffxiv person going into gw2 so i'll just say a lot of the story in gw2 is not directly in quests but #in overworld exploration and map events and that kind of thing. there are like giant meta event chains #that can last ~1 hour in certain maps that sweep from one end of the map to the other and alter #the map as they go and culminate in some grand finale and some of those actually take place narratively #concurrent to some of the story quests #so i would definitely recommend not just beelining msq if you get far enough for that to be relevant its mostly #an expacs thing <- (guy that screwed this up personally) #i hope you have / had fun with the games though. o7

#>:) #tales from diana #college has made me realize i like science after my middle school teacher (ONE OF THE WORST IVE EVER HAD) high key discouraged me out of it #it used to be my favorite subject when i was a kid. i wanted to be a DOCTOR. #and in high school i was just very depressed and not giving a shit about anything. i was discovering my love of poetry but i wouldnt say #it was very encouraged by my schooling it was just kind of concurrent. like i would do my writing in my math & science c #lasses.... i pressed enter by mistake. #eventually i took a lower-level science on purpose so it would be less work. i kept getting ds on my report card #when the problem was just that i had no motivation to do my homework ever. i understood tests and quizzes perfectly. #but my eighth grade teacher was just so bad. he straight up should not have been teaching children. uhg #i could say more about him and his level of pretentiousness elitism and unprofessionalis #he gave me amnesia over the fact that this was ever a subject i really liked. #my college professors have brought it out in me that oh right. this is my shit. this used to be what i was independently motivated to read #about and ponder. when i was a kid. yeah. #WOW that's different #it's actually kind of nostalgic to me. i feel like im a kid again/
