“Geralt, darling…”

“Hmmm”

“I noticed your communication skills have greatly improved over the last few months. You use your words instead of just grunting far more these days. I’m very proud of you.”

“Thank you, Jaskier.”

“As such, I was thinking that perhaps it is time for another lesson in verbal communication.”

“Is that so.”

“Yes! It is so! Now, I realize this is a lesson usually given to performers, such as myself, but I think it is one you could greatly benefit from.”

Geralt sighs. Knowing that Jaskier will simply continue to pester him if he doesn’t agree, Geralt says, “If you think I would benefit from the lesson, I’ll to do my best to learn.”

Before, he would have told the bard to fuck off, but ever since the mountain, Geralt had been trying to put in an effort to do better. Doing better meant communicating better. The need for that had only increased when, a year ago, Geralt had finally gotten up the courage to kiss Jaskier and their relationship had been forever changed. In a good way. The kind of good way Geralt didn’t want to lose ever again.

“Excellent! In that case I see no reason not to start that lesson now.”

Geralt did. They were walking the path and Geralt was walking beside Jaskier; guiding Roach by her reigns. Ciri was away, somewhere safe with Yennifer and learning to control her magic, but that didn’t mean there weren’t still threats. He had to remain vigilant in case of an attack or a monster, and trying to focus on what Jaskier was saying would be distracting.

But, on the other hand, they were on a section of road surrounded by fields. For miles, there would be very few places for bandits or any monster too deadly to hide. Geralt would almost certainly see them long before they became a threat. So, he agreed.

“Alright. I’m listening.”

“Ok. So there are 5 organs of communication.” Geralt watched from the corner of his eye as Jaskier counted them off on his fingers.

The head

The heart

The gut

The groin

The arms

“You’re very good with the 1st and the 5th organs. The head refers to things you state. They are a matter of fact. No ifs ands or buts about them. You’ve proven to excel at this in the past several months. And the arms refer to non-verbal communication that is instead conveyed through action. Again. You excel at this.”

To prove his point, and to be an ass, Geralt raises an eyebrow at him and smirks while spreading the arm that is currently not busy guiding Roach.

Jaskier laughs and gently smacks the arm now extended towards him. “Yes. Exactly. However, you are lacking in the other three departments.”

Lowering his arm, Geralt asks, “so how do I go about fixing that? I’m not even sure I completely understand how the first 4 work. I’m communicating with my mouth and voice. Is that what you mean by head? And if that’s the case, I would have thought I was doing just fine with groin.”

Jaskier swats his arm again.

“Yes and no. In that regard, what you’re doing with your groin falls under arms.”

“Hmm.”

“Let me give you examples.”

Jaskier seems to take a moment to think.

“If I was going to tell you ‘I want you to come here’ there are 5 different ways I could go about that.”

“The 5th being arms. I could simply make eye contact with you. Point at you and then the ground. You would understand what that meant, yes?”

“Yes, Geralt exactly. The 1st one being head where I simply say to you ‘I want you to come here.’ And you would understand it to be a simple request.”

“Hmm.”

“But, if I were to make the same statement using my heart,” Jaskier’s eyes got bigger and his posture less ridged. When he continued, his voice was soft and breathy like when they’re lying together at night and just talking, “I want you to come here.”

Oh. Geralt had always been aware of how Jaskier would talk when it was just the two of them. How it would feel different, like now.

He’s tried to do that before, but it had never quite had the same effect. Like it was just… incorrect “I’ve tried that”, he tells Jaskier, “but it just doesn’t work right.”

“You mean when you look at me very intensely and get quieter?”

“Yes.”

“Well… that is part of it. But this isn’t about volume, or what your eyes are doing. It’s about what feeling you’re letting yourself have as you say it.”

Hmmm. That made sense. Even now, when letting his thoughts be known, Geralt struggled with the emotions part.

“So what’s gut?”

“But you haven’t tried heart yet!”

Geralt leveled a look at Jaskier that made it clear he needed to move on for now.

“Oh, all right. The 3rd is statements made in reaction. There isn’t much thought to them, like a gut reaction or when you have to make a decision in the moment.” Jaskier’s voice got louder and more rushed, “I want you to come here!”

Geralt moved closer to Jaskier on instinct. The almost fear in his voice had him going before he could remember this was an example.

“Ah. I think I understand this one. It’s fear.”

“Well,” Jaskier drawled, “it can be. It can also be excitement, or anger, or any other number of emotions. Much like heart can be hurt or longing and not just love. It’s just reactionary. Truth to the heads fact.”

This was getting confusing. How could it be fear but also other things? Geralt decided he’d need time to think about this and it was probably better to keep going. “So what is groin?”

“Ah,” Jaskier’s demeanor changed once again. It was one Geralt was very familiar with, he’d watched Jaskier adapt it with men and women all over the continent for decades. He’s been on the receiving end of it as of late and had grown fond of the change in Jaskier’s stance, the sway of his hips, the light in his eyes. He’d even seen Jaskier adopt it with a particularly good meal when they’d been getting by on what Geralt could hunt for too long.

When Jaskier spoke, it was low and gravely, and sent a shiver down Geralt’s spine. “I want you to come here.”

“Desire. And not just lust.”

Jaskier’s stance and voice changed once again, the change almost jarring, “Yes! Exactly. The wanting something so badly you can feel it.”

“Hmm. That one makes more sense.”

“Yes, you aren’t terrible at groin, but you tend to only use it when you’re horny and I insist you use your words. You could be using it for so many other things. And don’t give me the you want nothing speech again. I know that’s bullshit.”

“I wasn’t going to.”

“Good!”

“I’m going to need some time to think on all of this, but in the meantime,” Geralt wrapped his free arm around Jaskier’s waist and gently pulled him into his side. Then, putting as much groin into his voice as he could, “telling me you want me got me hard. There’s no one around for miles.”

Geralt enjoyed watching a blush creep up Jaskier’s neck and hearing his heart speed up.

“Not going to say ‘no’ to that, dear witcher.”

12. What's the funniest or craziest AU idea you've ever come up with?

Ooooo I'm torn on this one honestly? I have a lot of AUs in my head not down on paper, some that are just. So far from the original source material that they're practically their own media just with borrowed faces oops XD

But I guess right now it's probably the fate AU where magic is a thing but Most of the characters are just Normal, with the Main fic being a teachers/teaching AU because -slaps head- you can fit so much salt about academia in this bad boy. I started it like...yesterday with the usual brainrot focused on Salieri and my brain has already veered completely into making a oneshot in the same universe focusing on another character's encounter with a supernatural cult leader SO IT'S REALLY GOING. I do also enjoy my Alter Ego Salieri AU.

21. Go onto your AO3. Which ship have you written for the most? The least? Does this correspond to who you consider your "favourite?"

Well, by virtue of works on AO3 it's a bit of a tossup. I have a multi-chapter fic in one fandom but a lot of the entries in it are platonic or can be read both ways so I don't really count it? So then it goes to next most written which is Morwen/Telemain from The Enchanted Forest Chronicles and Padme/Anakin from Star Wars, both with a grand total of two fics each. x'D

Padme/Anakin is a ship I'm neutral about, but since it was basically just a fix-it series that...is a lil abandoned right now, they're together because I haven't decided if they stay together or break it off to just be friends and coparents. Since rn they're both still in a lot of trauma and danger they're just clinging to each other. But I also don't know if I'll ever work on it again because there is SO MUCH LORE I have to remember and Star Wars fans are scary if you get lore wrong. XD But also for them to still be a ship in canon/fix-it they would need. SO MANY TALKS AND THERAPY.

Morwen/Telemain meanwhile is a ship I do hold fairly close to my heart; Telemain is a character I just love, he annoys the hell out of everyone with all his technical magical talk and I feel so seen by it because same, friend, same. I'd like to write more with them eventually, and I did start a multichapter back in 2020 that I'd like to get back to if my brain cooperates. I'd really like to explore Morwen and Telemain both diving into technical magical talk because I feel like she enjoys it too, just tends to remind him to speak a little more plainly when others who aren't as steeped in magical theory are around. And I also have a really feelsy WIP on the effects of the war on Morwen somewhere deep in my docs that also has some shippy vibes, but I've not worked on it for ages because it feels very self indulgent.

And if you look at my WIPs it's all Salieri/Mozart from Fate Grand Order, I have like. Nine in my docs right now, save me x'D and only one up on my AO3.

Love the idea of Outsider being higher but not the highest deity. And who is the highest one, you may ask me? The Void! Just the eldritch god, as old as the time itself, lonely and eager to communicate. But along with that Its only touch is deadly for mere mortals, as It's a pure havoc that will absorb the very soul of the one It's communicating with.

Corvo describes the Void as an “endless cold”, Daud says that the Void feels like “if you cried for help but no one answered”. And for them it's true but for the eldritch one it's the form of communication. A love language. It lets you roam inside freely and It expects you to let It do the same, let It roam inside of you. Cup your soul in Its improvised hands to hold just for a moment, to study, to feel your emotion, to live through your memory. To show you some love in Its term, to do the softest thing It can do!

And who knows maybe this communication was the main goal of whoever created Outsider. But as time went by, this goal was lost and forgotten. So here It is and here is Outsider, both so old and not even sure how much of them was inherently theirs and how much they have absorbed from each other.

So today I spent some time with my boyfriend on V/RCh/at...

We hang out over there fairly often, but he'd recently gotten a V/R headset so he's able to express himself a lot more and it's a delight to watch!

But of course with having the kink, there's a little thought that would pop up in the back of my mind wondering... what would happen if that cute nose of his started acting up while he was on his headset?

Today I got my answer. His nose started feeling itchy while we were chilling and talking, and I got to enjoy seeing him point at it to inform me — and eventually rub at it through the avatar! It was so cute!! I even got distracted in the middle of talking because he had to rub his nose, and he sure enjoyed that~!

Soon enough, his headset battery started running low, so we had to sign off for the moment. No sneezes this time, but in his own words: "It almost happened a few times. But, uh.. It didn't happen."

We texted a little bit about it, and he confirmed that he would in fact let me hear if it happened (what a sweetheart 💕), and left it at that... for a while, anyway.

Later, he invited me back to chat and listen to music with him and I happily obliged. A couple of hours in, that tickle decided to rear its head again and he was back to rubbing at his nose ever so often — sometimes pretty roughly. He mentioned it might be a mix of his allergies and seemingly his bangs brushing against his nose under the headset bugging him.

As time passed, the itch got so bad that he could barely speak, resorting to a mix of rubbing at his nose, trying to distract himself by reaching for the virtual motes floating around us, leaning onto my avatar's shoulder, and pointing at his nose whenever I asked if he was alright. The poor guy really was struggling, and all I could really do was reassure him while keeping him company.

It got to the point where he'd keep his hand raised to his nose to rub at it frequently, explaining that "having to sneeze and it not coming out is exhausting, hence the slow arm lowering."

He'd lower his arm a few times, but his hand always found its way back to his nose before long. This kept up for several agonizing minutes until finally... it happened.

He raised his head a little, then again ever so slightly, and then jolted it down into his hand as the sound came through — a tiny gasp into one of his adorable stifles that never fail to make my heart flutter. I don't know how else to describe it other than saying it was a perfect moment~

With that sneeze finally out, he was afforded enough relief to relax somewhat, and even though it was around that time that his headset started to run low on battery again, I think it's safe to say we were both pretty satisfied with that experience.

by gosh I’m gonna try— this is gonna be an ASSORTMENT

Seven characters: Bones, Scotty, Uhura, the 3rd Doctor, Tom Bombadil (that’s tree guy’s name right?), Poirot, and…….. Eusine from pokemon.

Just a note that for Star Trek, I am going off the original TOS run, not the later movies or the new movies.

Grocery shopping: Honestly? Bones, picked third. This isn't really because I think he'd be great at shopping, really I think it would be overwhelming since that isn't super needed in Star Trek time anymore what with replicators, and Bones himself rarely leaves the ship.

HOWEVER [ew tumblr why did you format weird], for an entirely self-serving reason, I think he would be great for me specifically bcus he would get on my butt about buying unhealthy food.

I buy waaaay too much junk food but also I am so easy to guilt so if I had a literal doctor looking over my shoulder the entire time? Easily would leave without candy or soda or salty fatty snacks.

2. Have lunch with: Uhura, picked sixth bcus she was really hard to place since what I would love to do is just talk to her for five thousand years. But lunch is the next closest time. She is just really fascinating as a character and I wish she was given more screen time or more of a role than she was?

Like she is so fucking smart. She speaks 37 languages. THIRTY SEVEN. Do you know how much I love languages???? SO MUCH. Like god the amount of skill needed to run communications for the Enterprise? Incredible, she is an incredible person and I would literally just ask her to speak languages so I could hear how they sound and flow and how the phonetics change and the way that alien languages with alien phonetics and linguistics sound on a human tongue-

3. Have "coffee" with: "Coffee" bcus I don't like coffee or. Most drinks lol. ANYWAY. Poirot, picked fourth. This is because I feel like he would be absolutely fascinating to talk with. He is an incredible detective and it would be amazing to watch him analyze things. Plus he has an ego so I could probably get him to boast and show off his skills more than once.

As for why coffee, though: typically it is shorter than lunch and he would eventually get on my nerves. Genius detectives are all well and good in fiction, but while Poirot can be wonderful and sympathetic he can also absolutely be a jerk. Eventually I would need to be able to step away. XD

4. Go thrift shopping with: The Third Doctor, hands down, picked fifth. I love a lot about Three but especially his since of style; he would be wonderful to go shopping with because you know he would be able to find so many cool places. If we're operating outside of canon he's have his TARDIS too but inside of it, we're stuck in one place, but the good news is it's England in the 70s and Jo Grant will be there.

His whole introduction is him stealing someone else's clothes like. Who else lol.

5. Explore a Museum with: Eusine, second decision made. So Eusine, for those not familiar, is a fairly important character throughout the gen 2 Johto games. He knows a great deal about myth and legend, and you cannot tell me he wouldn't be a blast in a museum, telling you about his special interests and it's all stuff that none of the exhibits mention.

He is also SO driven and when I go to museums i GO to museums I am not leaving until I cover every INCH and he will absolutely be able to match my enthusiasm of running all over the place to look at everything. I think it would prob be either a natural history museum or a museum of nature and science. While history is more Eusine's forte, I imagine he would be chill with either.

We would def spend over an hour in the gift shop finding a gift for Morty.

6. Go to the library: SCOTTY I'M SO SORRY THAT YOU'RE SEVENTH but it's because he was a toss up between here and lunch. But honestly the kind of books I love are like. I call them reference but they are books all about Things. One book I have is a replica of an 1800s catalog of wood furnishings like staircases and arches because I find them fascinating.

Scotty's love of the Enterprise and engineering would just vibe well with that I think? I feel like he could show me tons of cool books and give me pointers about what is and is not a good reference for education and for drawing honestly. You cannot tell me I couldn't hold up schematics and ask "could this help me understand the Enterprise to draw it" and he WOULDN'T try and help. He'd be thrilled someone wants to draw his ship lbr

7. Wedding Plus-One: EASIEST one by far: Tom Bombadil, picked first. See it's like this. Old Tom Bombadil is a merry fellow; bright blue his jacket is and his boots are yellow. QUOTING TOLKIEN ASIDE this guy is overflowing with what I'm gonna call a cryptid variant of rustic hospitality.

This guy is so weird. He is a complete unknown and he follows NO social norms but he is so genuine and kind and helpful that people cannot help but love him. If it's a wedding of someone I like, he will be an excellent guest for merry-making and well wish offering. And if it's a marriage of someone I don't, I have a great friend there who will sing and dance with me regardless of anyone else. Get yourself a cryptid bestie living outside of all society and time fr [who is also The most powerful being on the planet]
