The writing is so satisfying and characterization of AL is scrumptious and hilarious. There is a scene where Al decides to partecipate in a conversation with Angel Dust about ‘Who makes the better sex toys’ to Husk horror lol, just to get a reaction out of the king of hell, who wasn’t being so subtle about looking at his slutty waist eheh

The way she portray Alastor relationship with sex in general, Lucifer being soft but also skillful and nervous, and Alastor being confident and snarky. His breakdown was perfectly done too and really showed a vulnerable side. I'm just sort of rambling because I just really enjoyed all this and wanted you to know… This series got me good lol

One of my fav dialogue here:

"That was attractive," Alastor told him, arching his eyebrows with a smirk as the king recovered.

"Yeah, fuck you," Lucifer mumbled through a yawn, his eyes already closing as a small smile played around his mouth.

Just to state it here before I start yapping my ever living soul out, Shiver is an eastern tall-man, Frye is a beast-man (like Izutsumi) and Big Man is a kobold. I can get a bit more into their designs and headcanons in another post, but today I want to focus on the lore.

It allllllll roots back to Shiver and Frye's fathers, who were friends since lord knows when. They were a team of burglars, looters, thieves, whatever you may call them, but in the end of the day just let it be clear that they were BAD. And they engaged in BAD shit, like looting corpses in dungeons and stealing from people's houses.

One day, they hit a huge one, they got into the house of this really rich dude that turned out to traffic beast men and other illegal creatures. And the rich being rich and caring about their richness, the security was top notch, and let's just say they struggled to get out of the place alive. BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They left in NO WAY empty handed.

While looting the place, Frye's father found a kobold cub, chained up inside a cage in the corner beside other creatures likely being sold illegally. He brought the cub with him, and after almost getting their asses turned into kebabs by traps everywhere, the two companions were like "holy FUCK i ain't ever ever ever doing this shit again man.,.,. Wgart the ehll,,,,,, I'm getting too old for this, hell naw!!!!!!!" and decided to settle down as (this time legal) and functioning members of society. Shiver's father opened a dojo, while Frye's father opened a restaurant.

However, the rich guy who owned the house was PISSED (and also happened to be a black magic user......... woah how unlucky of them) and as revenge for stealing his wealth and freeing their beast men, cursed Frye's expecting father, mending the soul of his firstborn with the soul of a monster. And alas, that's how the critter was born😋🙏🔥💯😭

So yeah!!!!!!! Frye is a beast man just like Izutsumi is a beast man. They're the same typa monster, pretty much, except that Frye is a leopard instead of a housecat.

Anyway, back to the kobold pup; you guessed it, BIG MAN (or Big Dog?), being raised in the Onaga's restaurant, was always raised around the kitchen, both because he was genuinely interested in watching people cook and because he hoped to get food that fell from the floor lmfao-- as years went by, he started working as a server, apprentice, and eventually assistant chef of the family-ran restaurant. (So yeah, Biggie is the party's chef!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He also has an incredible sense of smell when it comes to cooking btw, both because of genuine talent and because of his race).

Ironic to his early years as a burglar, Shiver's dad grew to become quite the overprotective father once his daughter started growing up, wanting her to do anything but follow his steps and become a criminal before the age of 20. That backfired though, because she started running off to hang out with Frye causing all sorts of trouble (and eventually dragged Big Dog into it all too). The three were raised almost like siblings, and later on joined together as a party and continued to cause all sorts of troubles inside dungeons, where they eventually bumped into the other idols and started this whoooole story years later.

(They weren't all like their fathers though, instead of keeping the money they got from dungeons to themselves they gave it to the poor, much like their canon bandit dynamics.)

Anyway, that's the end of the yapping session, I hope y'all enjoyed (and if you did, please enjoy this page I doodled while blasting ToyBox in my headphones 🦄🙏 perhaps I'll outline and color this one day, but not now because it's 1:30 in the morning while I'm typing this out.)

When everyone was back home, they all acted like nothing happened.

The next chapter is “just damen losing his mind completely and making bad decision after bad decision”? 👀 Bring it on. Interesting wrinkles in the power dynamic. Damen is the one with the fully developed prefrontal cortex and has more to lose bc he’s the real adult and can more clearly see the potential consequences of their interactions—but/and he also cares about Laurent. As a young adult, Laurent is more impulsive and vulnerable to his brain’s reward system, which lights up like a casino when Damen (unconsciously?) anticipates and meets Laurent’s wants and needs.

DGHDHD ACTUALLY TY FOR ASKING ME THIS

So, one of the main reasons I'm in the WTC fandom rn is actually Eua! Basically, I was going through my old pinterest boards in like 2021 or smtn, and I noticed the higurashi board I made wayyy back. So, I clicked on it, and under the 'find more ideas' I saw a character that looked like Hanyuu, but not completely. I thought they changed her design, blah blah blah, went to google and found out that gousotsu is a thing. But me being my neurodivergent self, I realised that I have to **read all of the higurashi and umineko VNs before I can watch it**. And so I did.

Now, let's talk about Eua's design for a bit. The grand theatre color palette usually consists of reds, yellows, and purples; and there are plenty of them in Eua's as well.

Secondly, her design, while still managing to look(a lot) like Featherine, puts a slightly different spin on the hair.

Now, I don't think that r07 planned this(cough, man looks for design inspo in magazines) BUT Hanyuu and Featherine have a very similar hairstyle, not just color and name.

Shape language bby. Yeas.

The triangular shapes of Eua's hair make her look much more dangerous than Hanyuu, but they also make her look far less reliable than Featherine.

Also! The way her hair frames her face makes Eua look like Thalia(the muse of comedy), or 'the smiling theatre mask'

In Eua's introduction, gousotsu version, she doesn't appear until Satoko is alone(in a dark shed too hdhdh), and in meguri she strikes while Satoko is basically 'reaching out for her old life'. She appears, and forces the story onto Satokky.

Basically, while Satoko is thinking 'woah I wanna go back to when I was closer to Rikuh and my friends', she asks 'hey you wanna do exactly that', but she doesn't really mention the part where, idduno, Satoko's mental health will decline if she does it?

She reveals the loops, but only the parts she wants Satoko to see. Also??? The ohoho girl literally has no idea what she's supposed to do! Without even saying so, Eua's convinced her that she can only rely on the power she bestowed. She doesn't lie, but she does deceive, spoon feeding Satoko hand picked half-truths.

I've talked about this take before, but Eua is absolutely affection bombing/using the push and pull method on Satoko but I honestly think that it needs to be said more often! Satoko is a kid going through a really tough part of her life, and if Eua didn't decide to make herself some entertainment out of it, she would have probably solved it.

Now... Eua had the potential to be a much more interesting character, and I am honest to god praying that meguri does smtn cool with her. Pls.

No, but actually. Her role of the 'corruptor'(person who gives Satokky the looping powers) could have been fulfilled by Une or Tamurahime, as they both have a certain dislike of Hanyuu and by extension Rika as well.

But they didn't use Tamura or Une! And that means.... There's probably a reason as to why not.

It really goes to show how absolutely manipulative Eua is, because only she could play that part, and how the only thing important to her is her own entertainment and-

Wait, doesn't this sound familiar? Eua is allegory of us, the viewers.

She calls Hanyuu her double, because really, they are two sides of the same coin. We as the onlookers want to see Rika Furude escape the endless June, but we also want to be entertained by their suffering at the same time.

And that means that I can proudly say: 'shes just like me frrr' . She's the type of blorbie that I don't know if I love to hate or hate to love, but uhhhh.. Hot. Yeas.

I like it when a character is like an underdeveloped fetus so I can make shit up about them😋🥰

ocs aging is my favorite thing to read about, so i wanna ask you a question - how do you see matthias and theo (and their relationship) in their fourties?

and generally for how long you have their story planned? you think only about times when they young or you have “planned” their 50s, 60s etc

Oh I really love where Theo and Matthias find themselves as they age into their forties.

For Theo, he’s fully out from under his parents’ thumb by the time he reaches forty and he’s also been clean for a good handful of years. The first twenty-something years of Theo’s life were… well, they were really hard on him. He thought of himself less as a person and more as an extension of his parents’ will. He did what they said when they said it no matter how little he wanted to, but once he let go of all that appeasement and supplication… he finally got to relax. Theo’s had pretty bad identity issues his whole life, but in his thirties and beyond it’s like he’s finally found himself again. He was lost before, you know? And in his forties he’s comfortable. I’m not saying he’s magically healed and well adjusted or anything, like he has C-PTSD and he still begs off therapy appointments and taking meds but… he knows who he is and he can see the world in the same colors he saw when he was five and still playing in the garden, unafraid of all the things a child shouldn’t know about.

For Matthias, he’s settled into his forties with grace. I think he’s more grounded after having Theo in his life for two decades. I think I’ve said this before, but he was numb to pretty much everything in his twenties and totally disillusioned and nihilistic. Let me be real… Matthias’s personality hardly changes as he ages, but I think his outlook on life is a little less bleak with Theo in it. Hm… I think in his late thirties he’s finally processed a lot of the trauma he experienced in his teen years, but… I don’t think his insomnia ever goes away. I do think he can sleep a little longer, but he still has auditory hallucinations for sure. Nevertheless, Matthias is fulfilled in his forties. He has his best friend and the love of his life… it’s all he needs. I think Matthias is really just someone who desperately wanted to be loved and he didn’t know what that hunger was for until he was so full of it it got stuck in his teeth.

As for their relationship when they’re older… they’d actually defined it, first off. I think they feel like they’re too old to be calling each other ‘boyfriend’ so instead Theo calls Matthias his partner and Matthias calls Theo his lover. They’re definitely living together but they’re still not married. I think Matthias might’ve proposed sometime in their early thirties but been rejected. Not that it was a serious proposal, mind you—like, the chance that he asked during sex is pretty high I won’t lie lmao—but I think he was probably just trying to get a feel for what Theo wants and that was a good enough answer for him. Day-to-day… hm… Theo’s a working man so he’s often late to meals and Matthias has to find him in his art studio to get him to eat something. Matthias is still a layabout but he does busy himself with writing—just journaling and letters and stories he reads for Theo. Matthias is also sponsoring a few organizations that’re trying to shut down the troubled teen industry. They visit Imani and her husband often and Matthias babysits when asked—Theo is very hands-off when Matthias is babysitting since he still has a pretty emotional response to seeing happy kids... ugh. The friends of Theo’s who stuck around from his party days will have lunch with him every few weeks, but they still don’t like or want to be around Matthias, which, like… fair. Theo doesn’t really hang out with anyone on a regular basis other than Matthias, if I’m honest. Theo just… isn’t actually a people person, it turns out. Theo also does a lot of volunteer work with animals since it’s another kind of therapy for him. They’re just happy, y'know?

As for the actual extent of the planning I’ve done with the characters... well, there’s no end to their lives in my head since I can just picture them at any age. I know Theo and Matthias very well… I don't even really need to think about it (which is also why I hardly ever write anything down… they’re just living in my head). That said, the actual story they come from (which doesn’t actually have a title—echthroi is just a temporary name) only lasts for about two—maybe three—years. It’s not fully plotted out because I would first need to actually make the Big Decisions I’ve been putting off with relation to the plot for foreverrr, but I know where it starts and where it ends. So they’re both forever in their 20s in that way, but to me they’re every age they’ll ever be.
