Oooh how about a Rebecca x reader fic where they have a sugar mommy/sugar baby arrangement, like maybe Rebecca agrees to help Reader out financially in exchange for their companionship (like going to dinners and richmond games since rebecca doesn't get to see keeley much anymore and she wants a buddy) but they fall for each other somewhere along the way?? Your fics are a godsend btw 😇
I love this!!!! This is actually the first of many sugar mommy requests I've gotten and I'm here for them😂 Thank you for the request!! 💕
And thank you SO much 🥺 I keep saying this but I really mean it, I neverrrr expected people to read, no less really enjoy my fics and it makes me so happy that everyone has been enjoying them so much! 💕

You walk into the café you spend most of your mornings in and order your usual drink from the barista. While your drink is being made you set up your laptop in your usual spot and start working on your school work. You hear your name called and you grab your drink and head back towards your seat. As you're walking across the café you notice a beautiful and very tall blond woman walk in, you make eye contact with her, you exchange smiles and you sit back down. You pop in your headphones and continue on your paper. The café is usually pretty crowded in the mornings, but its still one of your favorite places to come and get some work done. You hear someone say something and you take out one of your headphones and look over, you see the pretty blond woman standing next to you.
"Is this seat taken?" She politely asks.
"Oh, no, go ahead." You say with a smile.
She smiles back at you and you put your headphone back in and keep working. You see her scrolling on her phone out of the corner of your eye as she waits for her drink. You're distracted from your paper when you get a call on your computer from one of your classmates you're doing a project with.
"Hey, what's up?"
"Hey, I'm sorry but I'm not gonna be able to make our project meeting tonight."
"Come on dude you're killing me."
"I know I'm sorry, I'll send you my half by tomorrow morning, I promise."
"Please don't fuck me on this I need to do well on this project, I need a good grade in this class so I can keep my scholarship."
"I won't! I promise!"
They hang up and you pull your headphones out and rub your face with your palms.
"For fucks sake." You grumble to yourself.
You notice the woman looking over at you and you look at her.
"Sorry," you say, a little embarrassed. "Group projects are the worst."
"No apologies necessary." She says with a smile and returns her attention back to her phone.
You put your headphones back in and continue your paper. The woman gets up and gets her drink and leaves. You keep working on your paper for another hour and then head off to class.
The next morning you're back in your usual spot in the café, you're sipping on your drink when you see the same blond woman walk in again. You accidentally make eye contact with her again and you both exchange smiles once more. She orders her drink and you get a call from your classmate.
"Please for the love of all things holy tell me you're calling me because you're sending me your half this very second."
"I am I am I'm sorry."
"It's due in an hour!"
"I know check your email you should have it."
You check your email and see the woman walk up next to you again, you make eye contact with her and she points to the seat, you nod letting her know it's not taken and she sits down next to you as she waits for her order.
"You are so lucky I don't hate you." You say to your classmate.
"I know I owe you big time, it shouldn't be too much to put together, I sectioned it all out so it's easier for you."
"Oh thank god, thank you. Okay I'll finish this, see you in class, bye."
You breathe a sigh of relief and you take your headphones out. The woman looks over at you and you look over at her and smile.
"I'm guessing your group project worked out?" She asks.
"Yes, barely, but it worked out." You say with a smile.
"Well good, I'm glad."
"Me too."
You hear the barista call an order for Rebecca and the woman gets up and turns to you.
"Well good luck with it."
"Thank you."
For the next few weeks most of your mornings in the café go the same way, you order your drink, set up in your usual spot, the blond woman, Rebecca, sits next to you, you both exchange a few words, she gets her drink and leaves. Slowly you two start chatting more and more, mostly just small talk, what your usual morning orders are, you tell her you're a student at the local university, she tells you she works at a football club. Eventually you begin to talk more about your personal lives, you tell her you're paying your way through school, you work nights and go to school during the day. She eventually tells you that she's the owner of AFC Richmond, you try to keep your cool, but not only has your family been diehard Richmond fans your whole life, you've been talking to the owner of a football club for over a month every morning?!
One morning she comes into the café and seems sad, you can tell something is going on and you ask her if everything is okay, she sighs and tells you that she found out her ex-husband is having a baby with his new wife, she doesn't go into detail, but you can tell by the way she's talking about it that she wanted a family, you're not sure if she wasn't able to have kids, or if they just never did, but you feel bad. The more you two talk, the longer you both stay at the café and chat. You begin to really look forward to seeing her each morning, you even began leaving your bag or jacket on the seat next to you so you can save the seat from being taken until she shows up.
You walk into the café one morning feeling totally defeated, you got laid off from your job last night and your world seems to be crumbling around you. You order your drink and claim your usual spot, you don't have the energy to even take out your laptop, no less do any school work right now. You get your drink and sit back down, staring into space, consumed by your thoughts. Rent is due soon, you have to pay your loans, a new semester is starting in a few weeks and you need to figure out how you're going to pay for your books, you feel like you're drowning, you didn't even notice Rebecca came in and claimed her usual seat next to you.
"Good morning." Rebecca says.
You don't hear her, the thoughts in your head are so loud they almost drown out the entire café. You're pulled out of your spiral when you feel a hand on your arm.
"Hey, are you okay?"
You look over and see Rebecca, a concerned look drawn across her face.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't even realize you were here. I'm fine, I'm just-" you feel your voice crack, a few tears roll down your cheeks and you quickly try to wipe them away.
"Oh honey what's wrong?" She asks, putting her hands over yours.
"I got laid off last night, and I have all of these bills due and I have to pay for school and for books for the next semester and-" you shake your head and wipe your eyes again.
"Oh honey." Rebecca says, you're surprised when she pulls you in for a hug, but it's definitely something you needed. You wrap your arms around her and lay your head on her shoulder. You feel a calm wash over you as she gently rubs your back, her other hand cradling your head.
"It's gonna be okay." She says softly.
You try and hold back your tears, you don't want to cry all over her designer jacket, it probably costs more than your rent.
"Is there anything I can do? Do you need a job?" She asks.
"Oh god I couldn't let you do that," you say pulling away. "Thank you though. Plus, I go to school during the day, the job I had was perfect because I was able to work nights."
She nods her head. "I get it, there has to be something I can do to help. How much is your rent?"
"Everything for the month is about £2,300." You say defeatedly.
Rebecca goes into her bag and opens her wallet, she pulls out £2,500 and hands it to you.
"Here, this should take care of it."
"Oh my god Rebecca I can't take this," you say, shocked that she not only just had that much in cash on her, but just offered it to you like it was nothing.
"Yes you can, take it." She puts the cash in your hand.
"I can't- I can't pay you back for this, thank you, really, but that's way too much." You say, handing it back to her.
She puts her wallet away and pushes your hand back towards you.
"You don't have to, really. It's my money and I want you to have it." She says with a smile.
You stare at the cash in your hand for a moment and look back up at her.
"Are you sure? I have to do something to try and repay you, I can't just take it."
She smiles and looks at you.
"You know what you can do? Come to the game with me this weekend. My friend Keeley isn't able to make it and they're terribly boring when I have to be there alone. It'll be nice to have company."
"Uh, are you sure? I mean I'd love to go but are you sure that's enough? How much are the tickets?"
Rebecca lets out a little laugh.
"Tickets? You don't need tickets, you'll be up in the owners box with me."
You sit there in shock for a second.
"Rebecca, I can't let you give me all of this money for rent and let you take me to a football game, that's insane."
"Trust me, you'll be doing me a huge favor by coming with me. I can't stand being at the games alone." She says with a smile.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, absolutely."
The barista calls Rebecca's order and she turns and looks back at you.
"I have to run, are you okay?" She asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine, thank you, seriously. I really owe you."
"Please, don't worry about it. Meet me at Richmond Saturday afternoon before the match, okay?"
"Okay, thank you."
She gives you a hug and heads to get her drink.
"See you on Saturday!" She says as she leaves.
You put the money in your wallet and zone out again for a moment, you can't believe that any of that actually happened. You open your laptop and try to get some work done but you still can't really focus. After about an hour you head out and go to class.
Saturday morning rolls around and you get out of bed and get ready for the day. You do some more homework as you eat breakfast, after a few hours you decide to give yourself a break and go get ready for the match. You leave your flat and head over to AFC Richmond, excitement and nerves flood through your veins as you walk up to the building. You head in through the doors and ask someone to point you in the direction of Rebecca's office. You head up the stairs and walk up to the half-open door. You gently knock and hear a voice on the other side.
"Come in."
You open the door the rest of the way and see Rebecca sitting at her desk.
"Oh, y/n, how are you? Welcome!" She says as she gets up and walks towards you.
"Hi, I'm good, I hope I'm not too early."
"Oh not at all." She says and gives you a hug. "Please, take a seat," she gestures towards her couch and walks over to the table across the room. "Would you like anything? Tea? Water?"
"Uh, sure, tea is fine, thank you."
Rebecca walks over with two cups of tea and sits down next to you.
"So, are you excited for the game?" She asks.
"Yes, very. Thank you so much, again. It really meant a lot-"
"Oh don't mention it, it was the least I could do." She says with a smile.
You two chat for a little bit, you tell her more about your major, she talks about running the club, you enjoying talking to Rebecca. You would think that given the age difference and the differences between the two of you in general the two of you wouldn't have much in common, but to your surprise, and to hers, you actually do.
"So are you a big football fan?" She asks.
"I mean, I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan, but I grew up watching the games. My dad is actually a huge Richmond fan."
"Well, we'll have to get him here for a match one day."
"He would love that, he actually doesn't know I'm here today. He would freak the hell out if he found out I was going to be in the owners box for today's match."
She smiles at you and starts to stand up.
"Come on, let me show you around."
"Oh, okay sure!"
She leads you out of the office and down the stairs. She brings you down to the locker room and knocks on the door as she walks in.
"I pray you're all decent." She says walking into the room.
A little in shock, you follow in behind her, you're trying to keep your mouth from hitting the ground, you can't believe that she just waltzed into the locker room, you know she's the owner, but you can't believe that you're here right now, this close to all of the players you've been watching for years.
"Team, this is y/n, y/n, this is the team!"
"Hi y/n!" The team says in unison.
You feel your cheeks get warm as you wave at everyone.
"Hi." You quietly say.
You follow Rebecca to the back office where coach Lasso, coach Beard, and Roy Kent are gathered.
You freeze when you see Roy, you grew up watching him, your dad wore his jersey for every match he's watched since Roy joined the team. Even after his retirement your dad wore his jersey every match for good luck.
"Coaches, this is my friend y/n, y/n, this is coach Lasso, coach Beard, and Roy Kent." She says with a smile.
"Holy shit." You quietly say, staring at Roy. "You're Roy fucking Kent."
"So I've been told." He says.
You snap out of being star struck and reach out your hand.
"Hi, I'm so sorry, I'm y/n, I just can't believe I'm here right now, this is insane. I've been watching you since I was a little girl. My dad loves you, he wears your jersey every match, even still." You ramble as you shake his hand.
Roy grunts and nods his head and you turn to coach Lasso and coach Beard.
"This is crazy, hi, it's so amazing to meet you guys." You say, shaking their hands.
"Great to meet ya y/n, so how'd you end up meetin' the boss over here?" Ted asks.
"Uh," you look over at Rebecca. "We go to the same café every morning and we started talking and kind of became friends."
Rebecca smiles at you and turns her head to the coaches.
"So, how are we looking for tonight's match?" She asks.
"So far so good!" Ted says.
There's a knock on the door behind you, you turn around to see Sam and Jamie standing there. You feel yourself frozen in place, you can't believe you're really here right now. They ask coach Lasso a question and Rebecca introduces you to them. You do your best to keep your cool but you can't quite hide all of your excitement. They head back into the locker room and Rebecca turns to you.
"Alright, we should start heading out to the box." She looks over at the coaches. "Good luck!"
"Thanks boss! It was great meeting you y/n." Ted says.
"It was great meeting you too coach Lasso."
You follow Rebecca back out of the locker room and back into her office.
"That was insane holy shit." You say as you grab your jacket. "Sorry if I freaked out a little, I've never met a football player before."
Rebecca smiles at you. "Oh no, don't worry at all, it was sweet."
The two of you head to the owners box the excitement in the crowd begins to build along with your own. You feel like a kid watching the game, cheering and groaning with the rest of the crowd, you're having the time of your life. Halftime comes and Rebecca looks over at you.
"Are you having a good time?"
"Yes! This is amazing! I still can't believe I'm here. I never would have thought that I would be experiencing my first football match in the owners box."
Rebecca looks at you with a look of surprise on her face.
"You've never been to a football match before?"
"No, not a professional one. My parents were never able to afford tickets for all of us to go, my dad has gone to a few, but I never got the chance before."
Rebecca smiles at you.
"Well, I'm glad you're having a good time!"
The second half starts and the excitement builds up again. Before you know it, the match is over. Richmond lost, but you still had the best time of your life. You follow Rebecca back to her office and she pours two glasses of wine, you both sit on her couch and hang out for a bit.
"I'm sorry your first game was a losing one." Rebecca says.
"Oh it's fine, even though we lost I still had an amazing time."
"Well I'm very glad to hear that. I can't believe I didn't know you've never been to a game before, I would have had you come weeks ago if I knew that!"
"That's okay, I'm glad I was able to come tonight, I mean it was the least I can do. Are you sure there's no other way I can repay you?"
"Please, don't worry about it. Have you been able to find a new job yet?"
"I was offered a waitressing job, but the pay is shit, I'd have to work almost double the hours I did at my old job to come close to what I made there. I'll probably take it, but I'm worried it's going to be too much. I'm on scholarship so if I let my grades slip I won't be able to afford to go at all."
"Oh god you can't work a waitressing job, those jobs are horrendous. I would know, I was a waitress once a long time ago." She says with a comforting smile.
"I know, I really don't want to, but I don't think I have any other options."
Rebecca looks down into her glass and back up at you.
"May I make a proposal?" She asks.
You look over at her, a little confused, you have no idea where she's going with this.
"Sure?"
"Well, what if I were to give you the money you needed for school, books, rent, all of that, and you accompany me to games, boring dinner events, things I would normally have to suffer through alone, and we'll call it even?"
"What?" You ask, surprised at what she just proposed to you.
"You don't have to give me an answer right away, just, think about it."
"Wait, so you would pay me to keep going to games with you, to go out to dinner and stuff like that?"
"Yeah, think of it more as a trade." She says with a smile.
"That doesn't sound very fair to you, I mean, it sounds like I'm getting the better end of this deal."
"Trust me, it's more than fair. Plus, I like having you around, I think it could be fun."
"Are you sure? Rebecca, that's a lot of money, I don't think I could-"
"Listen," she says, putting her hand over yours. "I know it sounds like a lot of money, and to most people, it is. I am in a very fortunate position where that isn't much to me, at all, so it really is not a problem. Plus, I'd hate to see you waiting tables at a shitty diner at 3am, you deserve better than that. So yes, I am sure."
You pause and think for a second, it almost sounds too good to be true, but then again, with the position you're in right now, you'd be stupid to pass up an opportunity like this.
"Okay, I'm in."
"Wonderful." She says with a smile.
You both finish your wine and head out. You say your goodbyes and walk towards your flat with hundreds of thoughts spinning in your head. You can't believe everything that happened tonight, Rebecca inviting you to the game, you got to meet the whole team, the coaches, Roy fucking Kent. To top it all off, Rebecca offered to pay your bills to hang out with her? You feel like you're living in some weird dream. You get back to your flat and start getting ready for bed. Your phone dings and you check the notification, you see a text from Rebecca.
I had a wonderful time tonight, I hope you had fun too. Looking forward to seeing you again.
You catch yourself smiling at her text, you reply back
I had a great time, thank you so much, for everything. Let me know the time & place for next time, I'm looking forward to it too.
You wake up the next morning to another text from Rebecca
Dinner Friday night at 7?
You reply
I'll be there.
The week passes rather quickly, you spend most of your time studying for finals since the semester is almost over. Hoping to finish your degree as quickly as possible, you've been taking courses during every break, your new classes start in a few weeks and you're looking forward to them. You get a text from Rebecca on Friday telling you where to meet her, you look up the restaurant and realize it's a very fancy restaurant, you dig through your closet hoping to find something appropriate to wear. You find an old dress that should work and you try it on, by some miracle it still fits and looks decent so you decide to stick with that for the night. You finish getting ready and go to the restaurant, you see Rebecca pulling up as you arrive and you wave when you see her.
"Y/n, you look beautiful!" She says, giving you a hug.
"Aw thank you, you look amazing too."
"Are you hungry?" She asks.
"Yes, starving."
"Me too, lets eat."
You both walk into the restaurant and are seated at a table. The waiter brings over waters and the menus.
"So we were supposed to be meeting some share owners, but they called and canceled right as I was leaving so it's just the two of us tonight." She says with a smile.
"Oh, okay,"
"But don't worry, a promise is a promise."
"Oh, I wasn't-"
"I know, but I wanted it to be known anyway, even if someone cancels on us, I will still hold up my end of the deal."
"Okay, thank you." You say with a smile.
"By the way, are you able to come to the match tomorrow night?"
"Oh, yeah, absolutely!"
"Good, it should be better than the first one. I hope it is anyway." She says with a laugh.
You both order dinner and drinks, you both laugh and chat as the waiter brings your drinks over.
"To our arrangement." Rebecca says, lifting her glass.
You lift your glass and they clink together and you both take a sip. As the night goes on the conversation seems to flow effortlessly, you don't feel like you're being paid to keep Rebecca company, you feel like you're out to a very nice dinner with your friend. It only becomes quiet while you both eat, even then you're still chatting between bites. After a few rounds of drinks, a wonderful dinner, and delicious dessert, you both are stuffed and happy. Rebecca pays the bill and you both leave the restaurant.
"That was amazing." You say as you rub your full belly.
"I love coming here, everything is so delicious." Rebecca says. "Thank you so much for coming. I mean, I know we have this whole arrangement, but I had a great time with you."
"I had a great time with you too." You say with a smile.
"I'll see you tomorrow for the match?"
"Yes, absolutely, same time as last time?"
"That would be perfect."
Rebecca's driver pulls up and you hug her goodbye. She waves as her car pulls away and you head back to your flat, very full and very happy. The following day you meet Rebecca in her office again, the two of you hang out and chat before the match.
"Oh, before I forget." She says, getting up and grabbing her purse.
She pulls out a check and hands it to you, you look at it, it's enough to not only cover your books for the semester, but practically covers the entire semester.
"Oh my god." You say, shocked at the number on the check, you look up at her, your eyes wide.
"Well I figured that might be easier than giving you piece by piece every time I see you. I think that should cover dinner, tonight, and one or two more," she pauses to think of the right word. "events." She says with a smile.
"One or two? Rebecca this is like ten!"
"Oh don't be silly."
"Are you sure you're okay with this?" You ask, you feel a little guilty, you don't want her to give you all of this money out of pity.
"Absolutely, stop asking me that." She says with a laugh. "If I ever think it's become too much or something I promise I will let you know, okay?"
"Okay."
You put the check away and the two of you head off to your seats. The game is just as exhilarating as the last, even more so because in the final minute, Richmond scores and they win the match. Both you and Rebecca jump and cheer, you're having the time of your life with her.
The weeks go on and you both continue to go to games, you accompany her to some business dinners, and some non-business dinners. You begin to get the feeling that she just wants someone to hang out with, you're not sure if she's just doing this because she's paying you, or because she genuinely enjoys spending time with you, but you think it's the latter. You genuinely enjoy spending time with her, you two become very close quickly, talking almost every day, you meet her friends, Keeley and Sassy, she meets yours, although neither of you speak of your arrangement to anyone. You've grown to really care for Rebecca, she's grown to really care for you too. You almost feel bad that she's still paying you, although every time you bring it up she waves you off and tells you she doesn't mind.
One Saturday night you go out to dinner with Rebecca, Keeley and Sassy. The four of you dressed for the occasion, another fancy restaurant. You've gotten to know Keeley pretty well, but this is only the second time you've met Sassy, you even got to meet her daughter, Rebecca's goddaughter, Nora briefly. The four of you order drinks and entrees, laughing and talking all night. The conversation flows as easily as the drinks do, by the end of the night everyone has a good amount of alcohol in their system. As you leave, Keeley and Sassy hold onto each other for stabilization and Rebecca holds onto you, you hold onto her, neither of you able to balance on your own. Roy picks up Keeley and Sassy gets a ride home, Rebecca looks at you
"How are you getting home?"
"Uh" you realize you walked from your flat, something you are not able to do in your current condition. "I don't know" you say and laugh.
Rebecca laughs as she holds onto you.
"Come on, you're coming home with me." She says, guiding you to her car.
Usually you would protest in fear of being an inconvenience, but tonight you just go with the flow. You both get into her car and her driver takes you to her house. As you're on your way to her house a realization hits you, the beautiful blond woman you met in the café was sitting right next to you, she became a friend of yours, she's been paying you to hang out with her. It's a strange feeling for a moment, but you look at her and for the first time, maybe ever, you realize just how beautiful she is, how her eyes sparkle when she laughs, how kind and caring she is. You realize that you've fallen for her, you're not sure if it happened so slowly you didn't realize it, or if it just hit you all at once, but you feel a warmth in your chest you didn't notice before.
You get into the house and she gives you a tour, even in your drunken state you're taken back at how beautiful her home is. She shows you the kitchen and your jaw feels like it's on the floor.
"Rebecca, your house is stunning."
"Aw thank you, I do love it." She says, admiring her home. "Come on, let me show you upstairs."
She leads you up the stairs and shows you the second floor, she brings you into her bedroom, you see a fireplace on the wall opposite the bed with a big flat screen tv sitting above it.
"Holy shit you have a fireplace in your bedroom?!"
Rebecca laughs and you look and see the pathway to her closet leading to a gorgeous master bathroom.
"Holy shit Rebecca, this is gorgeous."
You walk back into the bedroom and sit next to Rebecca on the side of her bed.
"I'm glad you like it." She says with a smile.
"Dude, this is crazy. Your bedroom is like the size of my entire flat." You laugh.
Rebecca laughs and looks at you, you smile back at her.
"Thank you." She says.
"For what?"
"For being such a good friend."
"Of course, I really like spending time with you. Even if you didn't pay me, I'd still really enjoy it." You laugh.
Rebecca laughs and puts her hand on your leg, you put your hand over hers. She looks into your eyes, without even realizing what was happening your lips meet hers, you have no idea who made the move, or if you both did, but you feel sparks igniting as you kiss. You feel electricity running through you as your tongues meet, you feel her gently hold onto the back of your hair as your hand moves up to her face.
Her hand travels down your neck to your zipper on your back, you move your hair out of the way and she pulls the zipper down. You pull your arms out of your dress and it falls around your waist, exposing your lacey bra. She guides you to stand and she pulls your dress to the ground, you pull her in and passionately kiss her again, her hands firmly grasping your hips. You fumble with the zipper on her dress and she breaks the kiss and stands up, turning her back towards you so you can unzip her.
You pull down her zipper and she lets her dress fall to the floor, she crawls onto the bed and motions for you to follow her. She pulls you on top of her and pulls you into her, your lips meeting once again. You put your hands underneath her and unclip her bra and pull it off, you grab each one of her breasts and massage them as you continue to kiss her. She lets out a small moan into your mouth and you smile, you feel her reach around your back and unclip your bra, you pull it off and she holds you tight against her. Her leg slides between yours and you grind against her, small moans escaping into her mouth, she grinds against your leg, you feel her wet thong against your skin.
She rolls on top of you and kisses down your jaw to your neck, you grab a fistful of hair at the back of her head as she sucks and kisses your neck. She moves to the other side and does the same, she sucks on your pulse point and you let out a small moan, you feel her smile as she kisses back up your jaw, her lips finding yours again. The kiss slows as she slides her hands up your waist and grabs hold of your breasts, your fingers still tangled in the back of her hair.
A tiredness begins to wash over the both of you as you slowly kiss. Rebecca slides off of you and you both lay facing each other, your legs tangled together, your hand holding the back of her head, her hand resting on your cheek. She looks at you with tired eyes and a smile on her face, she kisses you once more and pulls you into her. You nuzzle into her, never feeling more safe in your life, and you both doze off.
You wake up the next morning, still in Rebecca's arms. Last night seems foggy, as you come to consciousness you remember what happened and you realize you're in Rebecca's bed, the both of you topless in your underwear. Your shifting wakes Rebecca up, she seems to go through the same process of remembering what happened last night.
"Oh shit." You say as you sit up.
"Oh my god." Rebecca sits up and looks over at you in shock. "I am so sorry, I- I don't- I didn't-"
You can tell she's starting to panic a little, she starts to get up and you hold onto her hand, she turns back and looks at you.
"Rebecca, it's okay." You motion for her to sit back next to you.
She slides her legs back under the duvet and sits next to you, holding the covers up over her chest.
You adjust in bed to face her more and you look into her eyes, you can tell she's afraid, worried that she ruined your friendship. You place your hand on her face and gently stoke her cheek with your thumb. She closes her eyes and relaxes a little into your hand, when her eyes open again they meet yours and you smile at her.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what I was thinking last night." She says.
"You don't have to apologize, I honestly don't know which one of us started it, but I'm glad it happened."
Rebecca looks at you with a little confusion and surprise on her face.
"Rebecca, I like you, I really like you. And I know this could complicate what we already have going, but, I realized last night that I-" you pause and look away for a moment, you look back into her eyes, she's anxious to hear what you're going to say next. "I really started falling for you, I don't know when it started happening, but it hit me like a ton of bricks last night. And I'm happy about what happened last night, even if we didn't have sex. I don't regret it."
She looks at you for a moment with wonder in her eyes.
"Really?"
"Yes."
She leans in and kisses you, you feel the same sparks from last night when your lips meet. She pulls away and gently bites her lip, looking into your eyes.
"Is this insane?" She asks.
"Probably," you say with a smile. "But I'm willing to give it a shot. You're worth it."
"You're worth it too."
You pull her into you and kiss her again, your hand slides to the back of her neck and she wraps her arms around your waist and pulls you onto her. Your tongues swirl around each other as she holds onto you. The kiss slows and your lips gently meet, both of you smiling into the kisses. You bury your face into her neck as you hold each other.
"This is definitely going to complicate things." She says with a laugh.
You laugh and pick your head up and look into her eyes.
"But we'll figure it out." She says and kisses your nose.
You gently kiss her again and you both hold each other close.
"Wanna jump in the shower?" She asks.
"Yes, definitely." You giggle.
You both get out of bed and walk into the bathroom, Rebecca turns on the shower and she wraps her arms around you from behind. You both look into the mirror as steam fills the room. You look up at her and she looks down at you, you close the distance between your lips and kiss her again.
You never would have imagined that you would be here, kissing the beautiful blond woman from the café in her bathroom, but here you are.
"Maybe getting laid off wasn't such a bad thing after all." You say with a giggle.
Rebecca laughs and kisses you again.
"Maybe it wasn't, I think it worked out pretty well."

any super random ryan headcanons?
You asked me this and suddenly every thought I've ever had about my boy disappeared (by which I mean I had to sit on this for a minute lmao)
Ryan loves babies. He's 8 years older than Sarah (I hc them as 20 and 12 as of the game) and remembers taking care of her pretty clearly. Also babies are just easier to understand than, y'know, people who can talk. (Autistic Ryan is near and dear to my heart but I don't think that qualifies as a "super random" hc at this point, lol.)
This is not super random but I want to include it; his paternal grandparents took custody of him & Sarah around his 9th birthday. His dad died in a car accident a month before Sarah was born and his mom ended up in a really self-destructive depressive spiral, and his grandparents finally sued for custody after she was arrested for drunk driving. She's allowed to visit him & Sarah, but she has to be sober for it (family rule, not a court rule).
He & Caleb shared a bunk bed every year as campers.
I think Ryan's secretly kind of a troll- like how he listens to paranormal podcasts and shares ghost stories but doesn't actually believe in many of them. (Maybe it's the Shane Madej vibes of "believes in Bigfoot but thinks 99% of other supernatural stories are ridiculous.")
Piggybacking off of #4, his favorite genre of movie is "so bad it's good." The first time Dylan goes over to his house Ryan puts on "The Happening" for them to watch and Dylan's like "uh wtf" while Ryan just sits there like :)
Ryan's never had a pet. Pre-canon, if he'd had a chance to pick one, he would've gotten a mid-sized dog. Post-canon he prefers cats.
Ryan plays Animal Crossing. His favorite villager is Roald.
His duffel has a collection of pins on it. One of them is a "you tried" star pin gifted to him by Sarah.
Sneaking in one more Rylan one- Dylan's both the one to propose and the one to change his surname. They would have hyphenated, but six syllables?? No thanks.
At least in the "No Soul Left Alive" ending, I think the "mystery fan" who sends the evidence in to Bizarre Yet Bonafide is Sarah. :)))

Hey. Could you do an hc or fic where instead of mc coming to devildom as an exchange student but was summoneded from an other world by accident. And in the world they were taught to fight and survive in any situation and is really strong. For example they were able to fight belphi off long enough for the demon bros to come. Thanks
Ohohohohoooo shietttt
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you!
I've actually thought about this before, mainly that MC's power is comparable to that of Sebas Tian from Overlord, so I'll use him as a reference. This is a really cool idea tho
Lemme see what I have in my bag, my dear~
Click here if you wanna request!
Tumblr media
Warnings: Cursing, Near-Death/Traumatic Experiences, MC is fuckin goated, Very suggestive (Asmo's part)
Tumblr media
Lucifer
Would it suck if I said that bro would be slightly relieved to hear you had inhuman strength?
Just one less thing he has to worry about while you're down here
He actually saw your display of ability when you were in a fight at school
He'd gotten there a little too late, however, and witnessed you take a hard punch from a demon
Once he saw you dust yourself off before landing a side kick to the demon's torso, causing them to fly back into the wall, and cause a huge crack to form, he was probably more impressed than anything
Really, bro is more like a proud father that would ask "How did the other guy look?" After a fight involving you
Of course, he dragged the both of you away to scold you
After the other demon was gone, he began asking questions like "Have you always had this ability?", "Where did you come from again?", and "Could I possibly use you to threaten Mammon?"
Mammon
Speaking of the greedy baby boy, he actually walked in on you while you were on an enraging phone call
Baby boy just sat down on your bed, waiting for you to get off of your phone so he could have your full attention
He didn't want to bug you while you were irritated, you're scary and he doesn't want you to be angry with him!
His face pales when he sees you crush your D.D.D. with your bare hand
The device crumpled like a damn paper ball!
He yelped at the sight, sunglasses falling off of his face
You sighed and looked over at him, a smile forming on your face
"What's up, Mammoney?" You asked sweetly
"Uh-uh, nope, we ain't just gonna sit here and pretend like that shit didn't just happen, since when could you, a human, do shit like that! I thought all humans were weak!"
You just kind shrugged. "I'm a different kind of human, mind you, I was summoned here from a different dimension all together. I'm probably not like the humans you're used to interacting with."
Well, the only humans he interacts with are witches
"W-Whatever, I wanted to ask ya if ya had any money I could borrow to pay back the witches, but I might just consider taking ya with me to scare'em off."
Leviathan
The two of you were playing video games one night
You happened to be quite the gamer yourself, only you played more arguably rage-inducing games
You explained to him how you managed to punch a whole through your PC once and he totally doesn't believe you at first
"Yeah, right. A normie like you couldn't possibl-"
You showed him a photo that you'd taken a long time ago when the events transpired
His jaw drops at the damage
"N-No way!"
Is actually pretty amazed by it but lowkey still doesn't believe you until he sees you break Belphegor's wrist and sending him flying with a punch when the Avatar of Sloth attacked you
Asmodeus
Bro immediately gets horny
Especially if he finds out via you getting into a fight with someone over him
Like this lower demon will not get the hint and he puts his hand on Asmo
Homeboy is about to go fucking feral, but before he can, he sees you grab the demon by the throat and slam his body to the concrete, earning a loud crack
"Oh my, MC, I didn't realize how strong you were~"
Looks at you like how we look at the brothers
Horny bastard wants to be manhandled and carried like a bride and he'll get his way soon
Satan
Homie is sooo intrigued when he finds out
He probably saw you mid-meltdown
You thought you were home alone, that's why your door was open
So when you punched a large ass hole in the wall, homie saw it and immediately was like "IntErEstInG"
He'll definitely be the most curious about it
"What are the magical factors behind your powers?", "Do your abilities have limitations?", "Can we test to see if they rival that of a demon's?"
Will definitely try to use you for pranks on Lucifer
Beelzebub
The hungy boi saw you lift one of the weights he uses without too much struggle
He was definitely impressed
Continues eating his burger while walking up to you
"MC, you're really strong. You wanna be my workout partner?"
He believes that if you workout really hard and are really strong, you need more food
So he actually shares his food with you every now and then 🥲
Sometimes though, you'll have to explain to him that you're full and you don't need the extra protein
Belphegor
He finds out the night it happened
It's convenient, really, he was talking about how weak humans were compared to demons while holding you up by your throat, squeezing tighter
"It's pathetic, honestly. You damn humans are no more than insects that deserve to be crushed underfoot. You're better off dead."
He scoffed in amusement as he watched your hands come up to gently grip his wrist
"Humans really are weak. You think pawing at my hand is gonna-"
You break his wrist
He freezes
Processing...
Buffering...
Error 404 not found
Of course, he'd released you
While he was in his state of shock, you managed to catch your breath and land a hard roundhouse kick to his torso, making him fly a few feet, shoes skidding across the floor
"Tch, I spoke too soon..."
Tumblr media
Hope you enjoyed, anon!

6, 7, and 18 for the firstprince couples therapy au!
Ohhhh you asked the one that takes the most work (18)! But also a fun one that I'm glad someone asked. First, though:
6. Does this chapter/fic have any twists that you’re proud of?
You know, I don't think there are any real "twists" in this fic! I do love a twist, as you are probably aware, but in this case it's pretty straightforward. We don't get Henry's POV, so his feelings during this are a little obscure... although probably only to Alex. 😅
#7 I answered here.
18. Share the scene you just wrote, written from another character’s POV.
All right, so the obvious play here is a scene from Henry's POV since the fic is all in Alex's. HOWEVER. I can't do that, it'd be just too spoilery, especially since the most recent scenes I've written are very late in the fic. So instead you get a POV from someone who's not even an actual character in the fic. 😂
Kyle sees a lot of couples at the Hot Shots basketball game, mostly because a lot of dudes are sure they can win a stuffed animal for their date. And they're often right; whenever he works this game, he gives out a lot more plush bears and dogs than at nearly any other game at Luna Park. Most of the couples are your standard sporty dude with a plastic-looking girl who's more interested in her phone than his shooting—in other words, pretty boring. Because he has nothing better to do than watch them interact, he's gotten good at telling which ones are early in their relationship, which ones are a good match, and which ones look really in love. At first he assumes the two guys that approach the game are there to compete against each other, because that's the usually case. He realizes pretty quickly, though, that these aren't your typical jocks there to have a dick measuring contest. For one, they're both dressed way nicer than anyone dresses at an amusement park. For two, they don't compete; the tall blond one demurs—maybe because he's British, by the accent—as the shorter brunet steps up to play. That's when Kyle realizes that this is a date. It has to be, by the way the blond watches raptly even though Kyle will eat his hat if he gives shit about basketball. It has to be, by the way the brunet, bouncing with nervous energy, keeps on looking over after every shot as if to check if the blond has just watched him make the basket. It has to be, by the way the blond blushes when the brunet hands over his prize. Couples like these, who are so clearly gone on each other, are his favorites. They're adorable, and though he doesn't say anything because that would be fucking creepy, he thinks it. Good luck, you two, he wants to say, I hope I can find someone who looks at me like that one day.
WHEW, ok! That's a little preview of something that's gonna happen in the fic from the POV from an outside observer. Thanks so much for sending these in!
Ask me about a current WIP!

oh thank god no one’s sent you kuki yet. kuki for the ask game :3
yeaayyyyyyy thank u for the ask :D no one sent him bc they were waiting for u to send obviously
favorite thing about them: misunderstood asshole. all my faves are misunderstood assholes to some extent but he honestly does it so well. as you said, he's allergic to his own heart GOD thats such a good way to put it. i love him.
least favorite thing about them: i genuinely have always loved him sm no one gets him like me this is so hard uhhhhhhh i could always say i'd want to see more urie but that feels boring...i think it would have been nice if he appreciated shirazu before like. right as he died. but i like to watch him suffer
favorite line: "we'll just become terrorists" like i think that was the first time he was so forthright about how he was feeling.
brOTP: definitely him & saiko. see answer to last point.
OTP: i love mutsurie, but i also love him and shirazu (*cough cough* angsty fic dropping soon)
nOTP: i've never seen anyone genuinely ship him with matsuri but that would be a no from me. i actually don't think it's hot when someone's boss holds a promotion over their head to get more attention from them 👍
random headcanon: coming back to my urie dance headcanons. he's good at ballet, but, as is common for ballerinas, he can't do hip-hop AT ALL. i think saiko begs him to do trending dances with her (particularly if they involve shaking ass in any way) and then saves them as blackmail material "yonebayashi can you pls clean up your dishes i-" "don't make me post the water challenge" "...never mind"
unpopular opinion: i agree with what you said that he should have gotten to kill reaperneki bc wtf was that. i do think it was nice to see him sort of half forgive kaneki towards the end. i'm a grudge holder personally but it's honestly not very healthy, so i think it was nice to see him move on, at least a bit. (but also there's this scene in jjk where megumi & nobara throw yuuji over a bridge while he's all tied up to get back at him for something, i think urie should get to do that to kaneki)
song i associate with them: recently talk by hozier because it's the song that inspired my angsty shiraurie shirurie whatever yk what im saying fic
favorite picture of them: this pic almost made me not a lesbian (if i saw him irl i would run away)

Hi there!
I just wanted to let you know that I'd never heard of Saya no Uta until I saw you talking about it on my dash and I was like hey I'll look into that!! I had no idea what I was getting myself into, and it was definitely an experience. I've only played the route of choosing Saya and choosing to call Ryoko, so I still have to make the other choices to view all of the game's content, but I just wanted to come say thank you for giving me the second controversial piece of media I've been able to consume without my ocd throwing a bitchfit, because the whole story is fascinating from a psychological standpoint and that definitely drew me in.
I just wish the story was a little more 3D, I guess? Like the writing is overly descriptive of things it doesn't need to be descriptive of and underwhelming with the actual voiced dialogue. It's an extremely bizarre contrast. And from what little Japanese I've learn over the years out of SpInterest there are some translation points that aren't entirely accurate.
A big one is the fact that Saya speaks in third person which is a common cutesy mannerism for small children in Japanese media. In fact, she speaks super similarly to Maria Ushiromiya from Umineko ( complete with using 'uu!' for emphasis too ) which caused me to attach quickly to her for it. While it's true that this doesn't translate well into English, it does lose in translation just how young Saya really sounds while speaking. Because in Japanese she's saying things like 'Saya did this for Fuminori because Saya wants to be with Fuminori forever!' and it's getting translated as like 'I did this to make you happy. So you'll stay with me forever, right, Fuminori?' and those are two completely different tones. In fact, it's so overlooked from the English translation that this trope of hers isn't even mentioned on the The Song of Saya tvtropes page and that's wild to me.
Sorry, I didn't meant to turn this into a rant in your inbox asjklhd. Thank you for bringing this intriguing piece of media to my attention. 💖
Hiii, I'm so sorry for taking so long to reply to this ask but it was lovely getting it, so please don't apologize! We love getting long asks, and talking about our interests <3 And I'm really happy me basically screaming into the void about it, got you into it! That's great, that's exactly why I post about the things I like.
This was very interesting to read so thank you for sending it.
Side Thought: TV Troupes actually really really sucks for this kinda thing, it is widely innacurate with big media, and incredibly lacking for small media. So personally, I would not chuck TV Tropes lacking this as much to the (very bad, like super bad) official translation, as much as I would to the site just kinda sucking.
I'm sorry if I sound harsh, the website is fun, like any other wiki is, I just have personal beef against it, do not mind me, old man yells at cloud.
The first route I finished was also the one with Ryouko, and tbh, in my opinion that's the best one, but obviously seeing the other endings gives a lot of extra information, and character depth, so I hope you play through them and enjoy them too.
And yeah, I feel you, I wish it was more 3D and that I could have cared more about the characters, the writing definetly feels too much like purple prose, and way too descriptive about meaningless things sometimes, while also compeltley glazing over others.
Also big big same about the translation, I already posted my long rant about it, but it's really such a shame, because Nitro+ is actually so good at conveying character through dialogue, like actually reading some of the VNs in Japanese is a whole new experience on its own
And exactly as you said, it would have been far easier to understand Saya is a literally preubecent child if the translation had shown how childishly she actually speaks, or another big one, we would have gotten to see more of just how badly Fuminori wants to show off in front of Saya and Yoh, if the translation had actually shown him avoiding being fully honest with Saya.
Like there's so so many moments in Japanese of him just going, Well, about that, you know... to Saya when she's asking him about their plans together, and he's very reluctant to ask her for help, even when he really needs it, until she blatantly offers it, and he takes it.
In the Official English version he literally just goes "Well, the thing, Saya is that I failed to kill Koji, any ideas about that?"
So much character missed there, I feel like also missing the honorifics isn't helpful or good, like Yoh calling Oumi, Oumi-chan makes them feel way way closer, than just college friends who hang out between classes. And it gives you a better sense that they care for each other.
My hot take about translations is that they shouldn't just accomodate to what's most familiar to the target audience, in this case USA people, it should just make the media more accesible. It isn't a failure of art if it is a bit of a struggle to engage with it, it's good to make an effort to try to understand foreign art, even when the way the text is presented, isn't super familiar or relatable to you.
This is basically what everybody who isn't from an English speaking country already does lol

I was going back through some of APHO and parts of Joey and Void Archives' conversation in Joey's A Rating stuck out to me, and since I know that the APHO translation in particular is really rough I asked one of my friends who knows Chinese to retranslate any parts that seemed off to them in the official ENG translation a couple of these retranslations (and even in the OG translation) are interesting to me in terms of their implications, and I was curious what you may think of them, as you are kinda the de facto Void Archives person; I've got my own interpretations, and if you'd like we could discuss them in DMs or something (these are taken out of context so going back through the convo itself might be a good idea) original: "The voice fell silent. Joyce felt a familiar attachment. It reminded him of his father."
Tumblr media
original: "There was a sorrow in its voice as though it was lamenting for a distant past."
Tumblr media
original: "'You' and I used to be something else. 'You" are now hiding in a child's body, just like how I hid in another."
Tumblr media
(this one could definitely be about the general Otto thing but some of the other lines make me wonder if it could be something else) original: "I wanted to see you one last time before I see you off. I started this story 50000 years ago."
Tumblr media
there are a couple more, but they're mostly just better wording; I can send them too if you'd like
if by any chance these things are explained elsewhere in the story, and/or you have discussed them previously, I'd appreciate if you could tell me where and also my bad lol
First of all, I really appreciate you showing these to me!!! The “sense of closeness only felt from a father’ rather than “reminded him of his father” is so… I’ve always thought Void Archives to be bad with kids, but this makes me think otherwise. All of these lines manage to give a slightly different meaning when translated properly (so I want to say thank you to your friend too!)
Tumblr media
THIS ONE GOT ME THOUGH. MOUTH WIDE OPEN, JAW DROPPED TO THE FLOOR, EYES WIDE, LIKE ACTUALLY, I WISH YOU COULDVE SEEN MY FACE
“You are the story I started 50.000 years ago” is entirely different from “I started this story 50.000 years ago” as it was translated in the game. I don’t know what to think of it, because we know too little about Void Archives’ past- it’s given to us in fragments, vaguely stitched together pieces of a puzzle someone’s abandoned, so no, these are not explored in the story, not at all! There’s clearly bigger things going on with Void Archives that we haven’t gotten to know because of a bunch of (redundant) Hoyoverse writing choices,
I’d appreciate seeing the other ones too! It doesn’t matter if it’s just slightly better wording- I like seeing how things differ from the translation to the original since I speak two languages but unfortunately neither of them are Chinese.
For anyone else reading this I have the bit of this story easily accessible here

🛒 🛠️ for the ask game please!
thank you so much kelsey! sorry this got so long oh my gosh
(send me writer emoji asks? 🥰)
🛠 What tools/programs/apps do you use to write?
i'm answering this first because the other one got long so i'm putting it under the cut, but — i use the usual: notes/pages app, word, but ALSO HERE MOSTLY. i write there a lot because i don't get distracted with formatting as much, and it's literally just a screen with text, and THE TYPEWRITER SOUNDS kind of help me get in the mood. it's a gem.
🛒 What are some common things you incorporate in your fics? Themes, feels, scenes, imagery, etc.
ooohh hmm, i love this question and i'm sorry in advance for going off, but it really made me think! as a basic pinterest/instagram girl, i tend to make my fics picturesque? which a few readers have pointed out. for more specific things: i grew up beside the sea, so in a lot of my modern AUs i have a place called 'the cove' (it's in seven things, wilted flowers, and rising sun), which is based on an actual cove my family and friends (and an ex) used to go to when i was young. yellow roses are also a recurring thing, as they're my favorite, as well as, more recently, a pick-up truck (this one being a bts — the kpop group — thing). i've also written an abandoned fair in the forest into multiple stories, just because i feel the visual of it (rusty rides, faint garbled calliope, overgrown but lush grounds, phantom smells and sounds, torn posters and faded colors and whatnot) like, i feel it matches the marauders era as a concept/narrative? in that you can clearly imagine what it once was, but this is what it is now? anyway. you can see how whimsical i can get lol.
i like angst as much as the next jily writer/reader, and i used to do so much of that in my early years (as an oldie 🥲). i've written like, james getting tortured (like that's it, that's just the whole plot of it) and james surviving halloween '81 alone and james having to kill lily in a zombie apocalypse and heavy breakup fics and stuff like that (most of which i can't read anymore because my writing style has shifted and it's hard for me to read them now), but over time i think i've leaned more toward cozier, everyday stories, where there's still angst and looming big evil and closer everyday evils, but i try to make all that almost just a background to more-focused friend group dynamics and seeing people in new light and developing crushes and such. like the conversations and scenes are quieter and calmer now, somehow. or i hope they are, at least. i still occasionally write heavy stuff (like rising sun and time lapse), but they've definitely gotten significantly less over time (and only when i'm going through something personally and need an outlet). oh oh there's this video of jungkook (i'm sorry for making everything about bts but um) in the run music video shooting reels, where he compares the hyyh part 1 and part 2 tracks and he's like, "part 1 explores the little moments of happiness nestled in this omnipresent, blanket of sad; while part 2 explores the sads still present in a predominantly happy, colorful time of your life." and he's like, "it's almost similar but they're not." i think i'm in my part 2 era of writing. as in it's still writing the sads but within something overall happy. i think that's what i want to explore now and that sums it up nicely.
for character nuances, top of my head: james's interest in physics and a habit of scratching the skin under his wristwatch (something i do); sirius and agatha christie and owning a coffee shop or a building/property of some sort; lily and doctor who. i've also written multiple modern AU fics with them having the same superpowers because i think it matches their personalities: james shifts energy, sirius is telekinetic, lily has a healing/killing touch (depending on what she wants to happen), and peter can tell/sense when someone is lying or not. remus is still a werewolf and a coder/hacker lol.
my OCs are named terrence hunter and jeanne marchbanks (who is sometimes jeanne jung), and they are everywhere. and these made-up place names i always use: mango moon street, rosepine hollow, chuckskates diner/cafe.
for scenes: i always try to insert a lily x sirius moment because i love them being bffs and they're just such a fun dynamic to write.
THERE. i'm sure there are more i actually asked mary for this but this is already so long omg i'm so sorry. thank you so much for sending, kelsey!!! and for reading all the way up to here!!! 💜

💥 for the ask game ^^
Thank you for the ask! :)
💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?
Ooh, that's a big question, isn't it? Well, the first thing that comes to mind, and something I've gotten into a bit in the comment section on ao3 but I don't think I've talked about on here yet, is the demons. Especially Meliodas and Zeldris. They're... too human.
I mean, we do have non-human demons and demons who very much look like demons. Like most demons in Cursed by Light, and even some of the Commandments. But not a lot of our main demons (like Mel and Zel). And honestly, I expected more after Galand's talk about Meliodas still being in "that form". So, yeah, I wish Meliodas and the other demons had gotten more demonic forms. (Hence why a lot of my fics include more demonic features for Mel).
Actually, this kinda goes for all the races. I wish there was more differences between the races. Like Gowther said, none of them are from the same species. It's a perfect opportunity to really play to the strengths and weaknesses of the different races, including their physical attributes.
Anyway. Here's the list for the ask game, if anyone else wanna send me something :)

6/30/22 Update!
Well, hellooooooo beautiful people.
A year. More than a year even, since I last updated! I definitely owe everybody an explanation!!!
Shortly after the last update, I planned a mini hiatus of about a month and planned to be back in July 2021. However, at the end of last June, my family suffered a devastating fire, which caused the death of a relative and injuries to another. I had to take some time away from my job and wasn't thinking about my game either! Luckily, my relative that was injured is better now.
Then, I got COVID!!! I'm not immunocompromised, but very rarely get sick, so when I do, it comes down on me hard. I had to be hospitalized for around a month or so and I had to take it easy that next month. It honestly wasn't until February of this year that I felt like myself again, but luckily now I feel way better than I did back then.
I'm sure plenty of people will wonder why I didn't make a post like this in the moment, but I honestly didn't want to give out false hope when I had no idea what life would throw at me next LOL. But now that I am back, I'm confident that I can give 100% of myself to this project again, which WOW, I did not think people would miss it so much! All the posts here and on the forum made me so happy! Thanks for checking in on me!
Again, I apologize about my long absence and trust, the next time one comes around, I will definitely warn y'all beforehand.
Now, let's get to the fun stuff.
The number one question I'm sure is if the game is being canceled. DEFINITELY NOT. In fact, as soon as I started feeling about 90-95% again, I got back to work. I'm nearing the end of chapter 3 and the beginnings of chapter 4, which will be featuring a certain queen...
Of course, this means new timelines as well. The game's projected completion date is June 2024. Now, I'm actually shooting for June 2023 for the true completion date. So, about a year from now. However, if the game is ready before then, it will come out then. But the hard completion date is June 2024.
As for more recent timelines, my goal is to have a new update every month. My life/job has stabilized enough that I should be able to have content out every month. Some months might be more substantial than others, but content will come at least every month from now until the game is out (barring June of course, haha). So, the next update will be sometime next month...likely towards the end of it. Come with the first update will be the creation of a Discord. I've gotten many messages about if I'll ever make one, so here's your answer: YES.
Following July's update, in August I'll be opening up beta testing applications. Not too sure how many I'll take the first round, but don't fret if you're not chosen. I'll be taking many throughout the process until the game is out!
By December, I'd like to move the game into closed alpha, meaning I'll close the public demo (aka no password ) and start working in earnest. I'll probably take more testing applicants at this point. The public demo will probably go to chapter 5 or 6 (don't forget the game will have at least 10-12 chapters, so that's nearly half the game!)
These are the dates/times I'm shooting for, but of course, if things happen quicker, great!
Finally, this is probably the longest post I've ever made, so if you make it all the way to the end, cheers to you! I'm very excited to get this game into your hands as soon as I can. Please, if you have any other questions, send them my way in an ask, or post them in the forum topic.
Godspeed!

I think one of the things that makes it so hard to find new creators (that are free) is how insular paywall/early access cc creators are. I literally can't remember the last time any of them used their massive platforms to support newer creators and they only seem to reblog content that features their own stuff or other creators they're close with. They are literally only concerned about their "brand" instead of actually participating in the community that provides them with their livelihoods. If you're looking for content, you're going directly to these creators first and maybe you'll look through finds blogs if you're more invested. To a point, I understand that's how popularity works, but they could be doing so much more.
Plus, since the early access model is so popular, I do think there's a push for new creators to switch to that. You get an initial burst of engagement when you first post and then another when your content is free, instead of just posting once and getting what you get. Also, I do think there's an unspoken rule that "early access creator" = "professional". So, if you want to be taken seriously, you'll imitate what the "professionals" are doing.
I'm sorry you're discouraged trying to find new creators. It's actually insane how much damage the popularity of paywalling has done to this community.
Hey nonny, thanks for sending this and also for your sympathy! I agree with everything you said, and I'm just gonna ramble a bit in a semi related way.
I think the point you made about professionalism is especially poignant. Creating cc is less a hobby now and more a setup for your own "business". But in this marketplace, there are no standards or regulation whatsoever- and many people here are just bad at what they do in various ways. It seems as if they either have the aesthetic & business model down, but are terrible to their customers and/or make terrible product, or they make a good product but can't quite grasp how to play the "game" to work the system to its full advantage. Sometimes you get people bad at all of it, yet they still charge. Because the only consistent thing about this community at the moment is that everything absolutely has to have a price, no matter how shitty it is. And there's absolutely zero consequence for being a gigantic douche nozzle.
This is a mostly disconnected side note, but when I think about these creators, it's just unbelievably depressing. I have thought about what it would be like to try early access a few times over the years, and honestly even the thought gave me such a burst of anxiety I immediately dismissed it. Just releasing cc for free is sometimes an anxious feeling for me, I just can't imagine having to base a business around it. The thought of possibly disappointing people and not consistently providing a quality product that is worth their money is a shameful thought for me. I have gotten a few $1 donations to my patreon over the years and even then i feel bad for not being able to create cc for a while because of my mental health, and not being better at cc making in general. And yet there's people that provide the most lazy, shit items I've ever seen without blinking. Stuff they never tested that doesn't work in game, two second conversions, no hat chops, no lods, gigantic poly, etc. They don't even know how to make cc and admit to that but still charge. I think I would die of shame. I'm sitting here thinking about, do they feel guilt over it, in the back of their mind? Does the stress and the anxiety gnaw at them like it does me? Even just uploading to curseforge for me, causes a bit of anxiety, even though no one pays for it directly. But CF is just another tool to be used to most- now people use patreon, but once its unlocked, the download link leads to CF so they can double dip. So it must not be bothersome to them at all. It's difficult for me to wrap my head around.
...I've gotten so far off track, again. Here's the part where I re-read your ask and try to get back on topic lol. Sorry, my mind runs a lot these days.
I'm glad you mentioned the part about how insular paywallers are. But I think there's even more to this than just popularity. They do not break from their circle, except in the very rare case someone new becomes very popular and they want to do a boring collab with them, and even then it seems limited. I'm pretty sure they have a server (or multiple) where they share people's urls for the purposes of chain blocking them. They also, without a doubt, share people's personal info to one another in order to ban their accounts from their patreons (at the very least). I have witnessed this multiple times. There are several doxxing rings besides the ones that were exposed, at least one exclusive to early access creators. They don't allow new people in/trust others easily because of this. This is why I don't trust paywallers as a rule; not because I think custom content should never be monetized under any circumstances, but because the lack of standardization and consequences for privacy violations makes it unsafe.
I've read through your ask again, and it made me think of something else, so bear with me haha. But the point about how you find newer creators, and how some will go to finds blogs. The fact of the matter is that popular finds blogs have the potential to be compromised as well. I have been blocked by mmccworld ever since EA temporarily banned paywalling and I reblogged a post that had a list of people intending to continue paywalling after that, and they happened to be on that list. They were one of the more popular finds blogs in the community, but I obviously won't be reblogged by them like I was in the past. Now, this isn't that relevant anymore since they're definitely not as highly regarded as they once were, but think about tumblr's lack of algorithm & what you said about how people find newer creators. If you aren't reblogged, you aren't found. And it makes me wonder how many other creators are blocked at a finds blog's discretion. I mean, this isn't necessarily a bad thing; you can filter people how you like, for example I don't reblog from paywallers on mine, or known bigots etc. But it's something to think about, and I think is a smaller example of how simblr works. If you don't play the game and fall in line, if you question the wrong person, you won't get exposure. And to most, in our current system, exposure equals money. Of course you're going to toe the line- no one wants to be publicly shamed, or worse, have a drop in potential income.
This has gone on far, far too long, so let me stop lol. But thanks again for sending this and allowing me to ramble in response, nonny... not that you had a choice 🤣

re: people being upset by reader in window (and nothing to do with the ask game in which we all need to go to church)
i think the downfall of reader inserts is that everyone wants to see themselves in the character. but we're all different people, so that's not possible. and people tend to get really upset when reader makes choices that are different than the ones they would make because it ruins their immersion. (i also think that there's a lot of projecting going on when folks get that upset by a choice or action but that's not the point here).
to me, reader's feelings and behaviors are in line with the background we have of them throughout the whole series. yoongi too. healing isn't linear. reader is still going to have insecurities and their own past heartbreak is still going to get in the way. that's true for ALL of us. and yoongi's own past in regards to relationships (or the willful lack thereof) is also not going to disappear. it's been made clear throughout the entire series that whatever yoongi and reader have is new to both of them. yoongi's past has fueled reader's insecurities due to her own past (fuck off jungkook and all partners following him) many times up until window, and that's very reasonable. and then, on this trip, there's also the fact that reader and their brother have their own family stuff regarding the holidays which puts them both in a bad mood. AND THEN on top of that yoongi and reader's entire relationship is a secret. they have to hide, and that's not easy either. it can be really easy to forget what reader knows about how yoongi feels when their reality does not line up with what happens between the two of them behind closed doors.
i'm saying all of this because i don't want you to keep thinking that you weren't thinking things through enough or that you posted too quickly. i want to make sure you know that what you wrote DID make sense for the storyline and that it WAS in line with everything else that has happened throughout the series. people are entitled to not like how things played out, but from the little you've said about the feedback you got, they did not approach you kindly about it. the anonymity of the internet can make some people act with so much less respect than they would if they were talking to you face to face.
and i want to reiterate this again: i've ALWAYS found that when i really dislike something about another person, it's because i see that exact trait/behavior/etc. in myself. and i do think that's true for all of us. reader inserts are the ultimate tool for projection, and when being faced with something they don't like or don't resonate with, people react strongly. you're not the first author i've seen this EXACT thing happen to. at the end of the day, i wholeheartedly believe that it's not personal and that it doesn't actually reflect on your writing or your choices. reader inserts are a double edged sword in that they are as inclusive as possible but for that very reason it's just not possible for every single person who reads to be represented.
take as long as you need to feel comfortable with posting. i understand why it got to you, it definitely would have gotten to me too. thank you for showing up for us anyway 🫂 i hope you had a wonderful time in korea!!!! and that you have so much fun with yoongi AGAIN. thank you for being you 💕
WHOA Nicki when the hell did you send this?? Holy shit I didn’t see it until I actually clicked my inbox!
But damn.. thank you for saying all of this. I don’t really have anything else to add other than that because I’m extremely grateful. If it did make sense then I feel LOADS better because the things people were saying made me feel like I genuinely messed up my own characters. Ngl it hurt for days (but yeah, this was a long time ago and I’m better now!)
And thank you for the commentary on these characters, too🫂 I love that they are human and complex and don’t always make the best choices. While it’s frustrating to readers, trust me when it’s frustrating to me too and I’m writing it LOLLL but I want it to be realistic and/or not ideal.
We have a long way to go with their journey. I’m in no rush🤍

Both Hollywood Celebrities AU for hc game?
Ooh, I had to have a good think about this one, and I've written so much here that I may actually have to write this story because it sort of took over my brain for a spell there:
Chrissy gets her start in a teen drama show where she played a stereotype--popular girl with a heart of gold, probably a cheerleader--and has struggled against it somewhat for typecasting in her career; she's been able to move on successfully from TV to film, but it's been mostly to romantic comedies. Romcoms are a ton of fun, and Chrissy honestly really enjoys making them (she's actually really great with the physical comedy bit as well), and does well with them as a leading lady in that space, very America's Sweetheart; the media reports that getting cast opposite her is like a rite of passage for actors. She really doesn't feel like the industry takes her seriously, and wants a role that she can sink her teeth into; an opportunity to shake things up, and show the world exactly what she's capable of.
Eddie's career kicked off with him playing an iconic serial killer in a teen slasher that ended up with a massive cult-following, and he reprised the role in a couple of sequels. He ends up carving out a bit of a niche in the horror world, plus becomes a staple in comic book/video game movies, almost an inevitability like, "Oh yeah, that guy is in everything, and he always dies in like, the first 30 minutes." Eddie loves the gore and the themes and the costumes and the horror and what not, but like Chrissy he keeps putting out feelers for something more challenging, and a real leading role, where he gets real-time in the spotlight.
After delivering stellar auditions, they end up getting cast opposite one another in a Blondie biopic playing Debbie Harry and Chris Stein. There are OPINIONS about the casting, because most people don't think they're up for it, think that they don't have the chops, and think that they're gonna botch it. The widespread belief is that the movie's gonna be garbage. The director is a relatively unknown woman, and the screenplay was also written by unknown women, adapted from Harry's biography Face It; Harry herself has a writing credit and ends consulting on set. When asked about how things are going she says that she thinks 'these kids are gonna blow you all outta the water.'
Eddie and Chrissy both insist on recording their own performances for the film/soundtrack. Eddie lays the guitar tracks; Chrissy takes voice lessons to help her get the sound right.
The end result is that they both kill it. The movie is a huge commercial and critical success. It sweeps every award ceremony; takes home Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Picture nearly across the board. Eddie and Chrissy become media darlings, especially with their flirty, physical interviews. Everyone loves them, raves, etc.
And everyone asks if they're dating. There's tons of speculation, and the questions are constant. And the paps catch them out for lunch and out and about, but there's never PDA or anything physical that couldn't be attributed to them having 'developed a close friendship' on set. And neither of them ever give a straight answer about anything.
And no one really gets one until Eddie and Chrissy show up on the red carpet for the Oscars together, wearing wedding rings, and with Chrissy in a super form-fitting gown that shows off her sweet little baby bump. In their Oscar acceptance speeches they express how thankful they both are to have gotten this opportunity, not only the wonderful recognition for their roles and the film, but also for having met one another and fallen in love. Chrissy proclaims: "No more rites of passage, sorry!" and Eddie says, "Maybe they'll stop killing me in everything now, heh."
Thanks for the ask, anon! Request comes from this post: Send Me an AU & I'll Give You 5+ Headcanons About It.

Tickletober 2022 - Day 22: Monster
A/N: This one's from my lovely friend @goblinden for sending a prompt with Steve, Eddie, and Dustin in to me! No one has sent me any requests to see a Steddie pairing so I am very happy to have received this. I hope I've done it justice! Also a disclaimer, I know NOTHING about the world of Dungeons & Dragons, so anything I've written is from my friend's help or just purely nonsense out of my brain. Any mistakes aren't my fault lol. Enjoy!
Fandom: Stranger Things
Characters: Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson, Dustin Henderson
Steve was stuck babysitting once again, but this time it wasn't him and 6 freshmen. It was him, Dustin Henderson (so one freshman) and Eddie Munson. For now, at least. Dustin invited Steve to come to one of Eddie's Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, not even asking Eddie for permission first because he figured the guy would say yes to anything he wanted. The perks of being as lovable as Dustin Henderson... And Steve's been reluctant for the few years since actually being close with the group to sit in on any 'nerd' stuff. But now that they had Eddie and his awesome campaigns, Dustin figured the ante was upped and it wasn't a child's game anymore. Steve could handle this.
But the thing was, they were early. Way too early, apparently. So Dustin and Eddie got to talking as they set up their game table together. And Steve plopped himself on the nearby sofa, literally tapping fingers on his knee or picking at his cuticles. Fun times. Right.
Steve tuned in to the end of a conversation Dustin and Eddie were holding as those two sat at their respective seats at the gaming table.
"... but the gelatinous cube could be better than any of the ones we're naming here," came from Dustin's mouth.
Gelatinous cube... disgusting way to say Jell-O, Steve thought.
"How so?" Eddie asked, leaning back in his chair and hiking one leg up to rest over the other.
"So we know the Froghemoth, Roper, Cyclops, even. The first two have the tentacles, which we've mentioned before," Dustin smiled knowingly towards Eddie and continued, "And the other has the brawn we're looking for. But!" he pointed a finger in the air, "Gelatinous cube can't take damage as easily and once you're stuck in that thing, you probably ain't getting out," he said like he just won an argument.
Eddie leaned forward in his seat now, fully intrigued, "You may have something there, Henderson..."
The two curly haired party members turned their heads simultaneously when they heard a scoffing sort of laugh from Steve Harrington, sitting on his lonely little couch.
"Something funny, Steve?" Dustin asked, taking the reigns from something Eddie probably would've said.
"Noho, nothing's funny. Well yeah, a little-- Don't worry about me, just keep talking about your snot cubes and sasquatches."
Eddie rolled his eyes, "Why did you bring the nonbeliever here again?" he flicked his eyes back towards Dustin.
"I told him it'd be fun. He needs a little fun in his life," Dustin argued, "I'm the only fun he's got left--"
"Not true," Steve immediately cut right in, "I have a life, dipshit, thank you very much."
"Yeah, but is it fun without me?"
Steve took a pause too long and Eddie started to laugh.
"Whatever," Steve huffed, folding his arms over his chest and choosing not to look their way, "Enjoy all your dumb nerd games and forget I'm even here, alright?"
Dustin shook his head, never understanding how Steve could say things so hurtful and then still act like he was the victim who was sorely affected. Eddie, however, took this sullen turn as a window of opportunity.
"Fine. Henderson and I haven't even gotten to the good one," Eddie looked right at Dustin again and he smirked, "Nightgaunt."
Dustin tilted his head to the side in confusion at first, "I mean, I get it from the tail angle? Similar to the tentacles on the Roper, but I don't really get another--" Eddie's remaining smirk finally tipped him off. A huge smile sprung to Dustin's face.
"The nightgaunt," Eddie pulled out a little hint of his DM voice, "Similar in build to the bats from hell," he meant the Upside Down, "Mixed with the size of the dogs from hell," again, Upside Down.
Steve would never admit it got to him, but Eddie using his DM voice immediately sparked intrigue in him. He wanted to turn and lean in closer, just like Dustin was doing. But he said what he said and wasn't turning back now, still avoiding any kind of eye contact with those two. That didn't mean he still couldn't eavesdrop.
"And their tail?" Dustin asked, continuing to fabricate the story with Eddie, wanting him to get into details.
"Ah yes, their extra long tails with the spearheaded tip," Eddie held his arms up and mimed aiming a spear, really getting into the spirit of it, "Pliable, strong... perfect for grappling with!" Eddie lunged and laced an arm around Dustin's neck, dragging the kid over towards Steve.
"Hey!" Dustin uttered his surprise but knew it was all part of the act... or maybe it was under the guise of the act, but Eddie took his chance to physically annoy him.
"Imagine it, the tail wrapping around your neck so you're scarce for breath; your arms come up to try and pry the tail off of you, but now the tail wraps around each of your arms and pins them, too," Eddie kept narrating and Dustin was helping him by acting it out.
Steve was watching them, failing at his attempts to ignore the two of them. And god dammit, he was almost feeling anxious from all of their intricacy.
"You're gasping, you're not strong enough to break free," Eddie flicked his dark brown eyes Steve's way and grinned to see him enveloped in his tale, "And all the while, that lengthy tail is wrapping itself around your arms, your waist, your legs, even. Oh yeah. It's long, Stevie boy," he finally directly made eye contact with the ex-jock, now crouching by Dustin's legs, "And when you think that it can't get worse, that your end is in sight...!" Eddie paused for dramatic effect.
He launched himself right for Steve on the couch, the suddenness making the guy jump back and brace himself, gripping one hand into the back of the couch and the other on the armrest. His eyes were wide and Eddie's face was inches from his. And Eddie had a wild look in his eye, matching his wild hair and demeanor.
"Go ahead and ask me what happens next, big boy," Eddie encouraged Steve.
Steve swallowed before asking, "Wh-What happens next?"
"The nightgaunt, with all its claws and horns and horror..." Eddie righted his head and positioned his body over the couch, flexing his fingers so unnoticeably to Steve since the man was staring right at his face. Perfect, "... it fucking tickles you, man!" Eddie practically screamed and his face shifted entirely to pure joy as he hopped himself up on Steve on the couch and dug his fingers into the man's ribs.
Steve looked shocked at almost the sheer volume of Eddie's words and didn't even absorb what he said so much before he let out a scream of his own and coughed out a laugh, flailing to cover up.
"Wahait! Wait--Wait wait ack! F-Fuhucking-- EDDIE!" Steve tried growling but he was on his back on the couch with the damn freak straddling him from above and spidering his fingers in any spot of torso he could reach.
Dustin was now laughing, too, ecstatic their little show had this kind of payoff, "Ha! Still gonna call us nerds?"
"Or our games dumb?" Eddie threw in with a grin, pinching right into Steve's hips while he had the opening. Steve bucked and the most genuine laugh they'd heard yet flew from his lips.
"OHOho shhhh---" Steve was ready to curse some more but he was laughing too much, "Y-Youhu guys suck!"
Eddie smirked, "So it's a no, then," he vibrated fingers into Steve's belly while his other hand kept Steve's fighting arms at bay. Steve jumped up again on the couch and his laughter jumped in pitch.
"Just picture the nightgaunt focusing all its energy riiiiight here," Eddie taunted more as he kept the tickly pressure on Steve's belly. He did it so precisely that he got Steve to snort after a few extra seconds of tickling there. Hearing that got Dustin laughing again. Eddie could safely say he was happy, too.
Dustin ran up to the side of the couch now, exclaiming, "I roll! I cast hideous laughter!" he pointed his finger in Steve's face and laughed as evilly as he could before poking more into Steve's ribs and he occasionally got a good poke in his armpit. Steve squeaked when that happened and now Dustin was using all his energy to try and pin one of his arms but it wasn't working.
"Hang on, hang on, allow me," Eddie saw Dustin struggling and he reached down and fluttered a few fingers against Steve's neck.
This tried and true hack caused Steve's shoulders to hunch, his arms to raise, and now Eddie snatched one up and pinned it above him against the couch. A bonus was Steve's bright giggle that came forth from the neck tickles.
"Hideous laughter commencing, bard," Eddie grinned at Dustin and put all his effort in keeping Steve's hand right where it was.
Dustin scratched at Steve's now exposed armpit. And Steve practically exploded in laughter. It was loud and at times squeaky. He was trying to squirm, but Eddie's weight kept him down. His next effort was to use his free arm to block access to his sensitive underarm. But then Eddie got his stomach again and confused his senses so he couldn't decide which to fend off.
"OHO FUHUCK OHOhohofff!" Steve cackled.
"Sorry, Harrington. Hideous laughter practically immobilizes you. Makes you unable to do anything because you're laughing to ha-hahard--- hey!" he giggled himself when Steve's new use with his free arm was to try and tickle back.
Steve pulled his other arm out of Eddie's grip and pushed Dustin away, "Seeheems like your spell's got a flaw in it. Not immobilized," he poked and squeezed at Eddie's belly and sides to get him back and off of him now. It only lasted briefly until Eddie was giggling and no longer straddling him.
Steve pulled himself to the opposite end of the couch and caught his breath, running a hand through his hair to try and fix it. It had gone wild from the attack.
Dustin smiled at Steve like he meant the world to him... and then Steve looked at Eddie at the guy shared the same stupid smile. Now Steve was smiling, Jesus Christ what has become of him.
"Enough monsters, okay? Save them for your game-- campaign."
"He can be taught!" Eddie cheered triumphantly and he patted Steve's leg as he stood up off the couch, "There's an extra seat for you at the table, you know. So you won't have to be relegated to banishment on the sad stoner couch," he grinned.
Steve chuckled and shook his head fondly. Within minutes, the rest of the party was here and they began their campaign. Steve sat at the corner next closest to Eddie and watched as the story unfolded. Hey, it was pretty fun. Even if he didn't understand more than half of the terminology being used. But the kids were having fun, Eddie was a riot, and so he could learn to have a little bit of fun, too.

Thanks for the ask!
do you ever worry about public reaction to what you’re writing? how do you get past that?
Sometimes.
Short answer: the best way to get past those concerns is to find other fandom people who are weird about the shit you're weird about, preferably in the same ways you're weird about it.
Long answer:
I worried enough about it a decade ago to create this account to host all of the weird shit, which took a lot of the pressure off, and I worry about it again now that I'm using this account for everything (because I don't know what people are reading my work for these days, but I post a lot of much tamer stuff here than I used to, and I worry that people are going to be, uh, impolite when I eventually post gross stuff again). That's why you'll periodically see me post reminders that I talk about porn and dark stuff, since I don't trust that everyone is actually reading the pinned post and I don't want anyone getting a nasty surprise (even though most of what I talk about here is still pretty tame compared to what's actually hosted on my ao3 profile). It's also part of why I periodically toggle the "don't perceive me" button to hide this blog from tumblr search.
I was kind of nervous about when there's fire on the ground, since I was new to the fandom. It's not that dark in tone and I made every effort to write as sensitively as possible, but it concerns very serious subject matter (and about a kid, at that), and this fandom, uh, has not struck me as particularly chill. But no one gave me any shit about it. I took that as a pretty good sign. There are a few stories that I probably won't post because I just don't want to deal with people potentially being weird about them, and a couple that I've changed my mind about and may post anyway if I ever finish them (because people have expressed interest). But it's not always because of dark or disturbing subject matter. I've gotten a little nervous about all kinds of things.
But this is why I don't ever have anon asks turned on, always archive-lock sensitive fics immediately (and everything else after a week maybe), and always enable comment moderation. (Though, really, I don't get that many messages in the first place, so it can't really be deterring people from sending me asks. I doubt anyone has anything they're itching to say to me if only I'd just turn on anon asks.) It's a boundary I set, at least in part, because people can get very weird about the kinds of things I write (which, even when they're not dark or sad, are usually about niche or weird or unpopular things).
I really enjoy and value the engagement that can come from posting, but I don't really care whether my work gets much attention. I certainly don't expect it. So I don't necessarily worry that people won't be interested in reading it or even that they won't like it; I just don't want people being assholes over it. I'm fortunate in that I generally fly under the radar and always have. I just write stuff because I feel like writing it, so if I think people are gonna give me a headache over it, I'm more than happy to write it and leave it on my hard drive.
how do you recharge when you’re not feeling creative?
Ideally, I read a lot/watch movies, preferably things I haven't read/watched before, listen to music. Maybe do some research just for fun, explore new topics that I wouldn't normally be curious about. But I've got a fickle attention span that's very difficult to wrangle, so I also focus on more tactile creative hobbies or physically grounding activities. Knitting/crochet/baking are nice. I play with my cats more. Cleaning (and sometimes rearranging furniture) is hands-down the best way to fix a creative slump for me, but nothing is fool-proof, you know? There's a lot of physical stuff that I used to do, to get my head on straight, that I no longer can. Mostly, I just don't force it and don't stress over it.
are you able to write with other people around?
Not really. Sometimes I get lucky (last summer, I wrote a lot while I was spending time with other people), but it's unusual for me to be able to write with others around--either they talk to me/need me for something or I just can't focus with others present. I don't read well around other people either (that combination hypervigilance/poor concentration, you know).
your least favorite part of the writing process
Picking up a story where I left off and trying to figure out where I was going with it. I'm much better at it than I used to be, but I really dislike having to do it. I like to get in the zone and go. Unfortunately, if a story has any length or substance to it, then that's something that I probably have to do because, obviously, I can only write when I have the free time to do so. (See also: all the sobbing and whining I've very publicly done over memorized your smile lines. If anyone ever feels like holding my hand while I wrangle that one, I would love it.)

The answer to every single question would interest me, but i've picked some out if you are ready to answer them :)): question 2, 11, 17, 29, 49, 51, 52, 55, 62, 69, 70, 71, 73, 91
Still a lot but at least not 100!
Hi! Thank you for this ❤️ I’ve combined 2 & 29 at the end since the answer to 2 contains a spoiler.
I reblogged the linked post if anyone else wants to send in a number.
11. what’s something neat you’ve learned while doing research for something you were writing? also, how much do you worry about doing research in general?
I watched a few videos on how to ride a horse for research so I could (hopefully) describe it accurately in the fic, so that was pretty cool! In the process of doing that, I learned about the necessary equipment and their names (bridle, bit, tack, etc.). I wouldn’t say I worry about doing research, but I do like to include things from the universe to give it a more realistic feel, if that makes sense.
The rest under the cut 😊
17. what is your favorite line you’ve ever written?
This is more than one line, sorry. But they go together.
It was horrible. It was wonderful. It made her feel wicked. It made her feel alive.
49. do you want to be published some day?
Maybe one day! I think that would be really cool.
51. share the synopsis of a story you work on that you haven’t published yet
This is a rough synopsis based on an anon request I got that I’m slowly but surely making progress on (anon, I promise I’ll finish it one day!)
At ten, Aegon develops a small crush on the daughter of one of the castle maids. As they grow older, the crush morphs into a friendship. But maybe it could be something more.
52. how many unfinished ideas/stories are you working on at the same time?
I tend to bounce around 2-3, but mentally I work on every single one of them every day
55. do you have any abandoned WIP’s? What made you abandon them?
I don’t (at least not yet)
62. what’s the weirdest reason you’ve ever shipped something?
This isn't weird, but I am not immune to being persuaded based on content I see on the dash
69. how do you write emotional scenes? do you ever feel what the characters feel?
I try my best to put myself in the place of that character – what would they think in this moment, how would they feel, what would they do? Things like that. I haven’t felt it like it was happening to me, but I do carry the emotion with me while I’m writing.
70. are you very critical of your own writing? how much do you find yourself editing (either during the writing or after the fact)?
Yes. I edit a little bit while I’m writing, but I primarily do that after the chapter is drafted. My main goal when writing is to just get everything on the page and then go back and fix it.
71. how do you balance writing and life? do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of writing you have to do?
I don’t push myself too hard to write on weeknights if I’ve had a long day and just want to lay on the couch, but sometimes I use writing to unwind. I also tend to write more on the weekends since I have more time. Sometimes I feel overwhelmed, but I remind myself to just take it one word at a time.
73. how do you visualize scenes? do you see it like a movie in your head, or do the words just flow?
I do see it like a movie! Which is great, but then in editing I have to go back and add more detail because sometimes when I’m writing I’ll put something like “x does this, then this.”
91. how has your writing style changed over the years?
I’m still a pretty new writer, but I would say that in the course of the past year I have gotten more confident in my own style
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.” AND 29. give us a spoiler for one of your stories.
When Aly and Aegon got together! The ballooning word count is what made me first begin to rethink it, but I also think that it just seemed to make sense for it to happen when it did. Originally they didn’t get together until after Helaena was pregnant with Maelor (who will exist in this story).
