Back in April I got to take Cygnus to Tenshi no Sato in Kyoto! I’ve been wanting to do this for ages and it was a really nice experience. So here’s a recap!
It was actually the second time I’d been to Sato, the first time was back in 2017 which I wrote about on my old doll blog. I was new to SD then but now 6 years later I not only was able to better appreciate the museum and the significance of a lot of the dolls in there, but I also got to experience it with a doll I really, really treasure (that’s not to say Finn (Renee at the time) isn’t important, I had just literally only just got that doll at the time).
Anyway, just like last time there are limited areas where photos are allowed, which unfortunately means no photos of the museum floor again. This is a shame because there were a lot more dolls this time - including boyhood Cecile, so it would have been cute to have a pic of Cygnus in front of his original form. It was cool to see all the Oath of Silver Coin dolls together though - it was also the first time I’d seen SD17 Captain Cecile in person, and I still want him really bad ;-;
Anyway here’s the requisite pics of Cygnus in the main meeting area at the big table. Sato changes out the flowers seasonally, and the ones during my visit were gerbera.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But the main reason I took him to Sato was to do the Omukae ceremony with him. In the 2017 post about Sato I did on my old blog, I misunderstood the Omukae Ceremony as something you could only do for Full Choice System dolls when you go to pick them up. But it’s actually something you can do for any Volks dolls regardless of when or how you got it. So what is it? It’s kind of the culmination of a lot of the fan culture surrounding Volks dolls as being alive or extensions of yourself - it’s essentially a ceremony to celebrate the bond you have with a doll. Like you’re being soul-bonded to them on the astral plane or…something. It’s incredibly extra, but I always found it fascinating and kind of charming so after a friend did it a few years back I decided that I would too at some point, because I like being able to experience the many things Volks offers. At first though I didn’t know if I’d ever have a doll important enough for me to be fitting for the sheer level of pomp and circumstance, but Cygnus definitely fits the bill.
The Ceremony is actually available at any Volks store - I witnessed one in the Fukuoka showroom several years back. It’s just a lot more special at either Sato, or Tenshi no Mado in Harajuku first due to the alters being more decorated but also due to having more space. Plus Sato has the veiled statue of Mother SD behind the alter so it is absolutely the most extra of all location options.
When the ceremony begins, they actually close the doors to the main hall to prevent people randomly coming in and potentially ruining it (especially because this part of Sato is right at the entrance). This also means that anyone currently in that area is stuck there and forced to watch the ceremony happen (although they are given warning). The doll is put on the alter by the owner, who then sits on a chair in front of it. Here is Cygnus politely wondering what is going on when he was placed on the alter.
Tumblr media
The lights are dimmed and the Doll Advisor (abbreviated to DAD on the certificate which tickles me) enters wearing a robe. The lights are dimmed in the room, they draw the hanging curtains around the doll to hide it from view and light candles on either side of the alter, and recite a very flowery speech about your beautiful amazing bond with your beautiful amazing doll. The speech is the same for everyone other than the names of you and your doll (which can also be your nickname or handlename, so my friend got to do theirs being constantly referred to as ‘Beby-sama’), and you receive a copy of it as a souvenir card with your names written in the spaces. I had my back to the table here because of being in the seat, but when the lights were dimmed I realised I could see the table in the reflection of the glass by the alter and there were more people than I expected, and I really hope they knew the ceremony was a thing beforehand because I can’t imagine how it would feel to suddenly be witnessing this if you had no idea what was going on.
The DAD then instructs the owner to blow out the candles, which symbolises blowing life into the doll. Then the owner opens the curtains up and picks up their soul bonded doll and turns to face whatever audience has gathered. But the thing is. While they are doing the speech and all, the music is just some gentle Ave Maria type thing, but specifically at the moment the ceremony is complete - when you pick up your doll, the song changes to a different one. The Shigetas (the couple who run Volks) have very particular music tastes and have songs and playlists they use for things - the playlist at Dolpa events is stuff like Dancing Queen and other oldies on repeat and it never changes. The song they have chosen for the omukae ceremony that has apparently been unchanged since its inception is, I shit you not, ‘Tonight I Celebrate My Love’ by Peabo Bryson and Roberta Flack. And -specifically!!!!!- the part that says ‘when I make love to you tonight’. This is a legendary injoke with English speaking volks fans so I did already know about this but I still wasn’t prepared for the exact cocktail of emotions you get when you’re having an extremely weird, almost cult-like ceremony and it’s weird but also touching because your OC means that much to you and then right at the end that song kicks in. I had a mask on which concealed my expression but I still couldn’t help but double over slightly when I picked Cygnus up, which I hope the staff interpreted as a sign of me being touched by the proceeding and not just me losing it at the stunningly inappropriate song. Here is Cygnus after the ceremony with the lights still dimmed politely wondering what just happened.
Tumblr media
After that, my friend and I went to the cafe. The Sato cafe only has cakes and drinks, but the cakes are always cute and change seasonably. This time I was able to get a cute sakura roll cake. Cygnus watches on from the basket the staff give you to carry your dolls around the facility like baby kittens.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway! That’s the omukae ceremony, amazing experience, unintentionally hilarious, I really enjoyed it, potentially confusing as all hell for any newcomer in my audience who saw it unprepared.
If you also want to get soul bonded to your super dollfie to questionable music choices, email Volks to inquire and make a reservation. If you want to do it at Sato, check the opening dates on the Sato calendar (it’s only open on weekends and a few other days each month) and send Volks an email, well in advance as they can only do a certain number of ceremonies per day.

my own oc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TO SHARE MY OCS FINALLY and here's some profile of it although I change the colors a bit so the upper one is like a small upgrade to it. Let me introduce you to Pwyll, Xian, and Anacaona. They are redesigns from ocs that I use have to back then their character design and names change all except Xian. Xian design did change but not his name. Uhh background information:
Pwyll a young scrappy adventure wanting to prove himself in the world. A chaotic nature boy who would jump at the heat of danger instead of looking at the signs. He has learn the art of escaping and is a bookworm but won't admit and says reading is for nerds. He's smart but he just doesn't show it, he's the type to lead with the heart than the mind. His favorite things are mysteries libraries full of secrets, adventure, treasure and in his old design he use to be a pirate so the treasure hunting is still in his nature and I'm not giving that up.
Anacaona the oldest of the bunch with more responsibilities than a God. She keeps her two brothers in check especially Pwyll, but she's the worry of the bunch and the protector. She loves cakes btw huge fan on them and is like the only one with common sense. In her oldest oldest design she was a bnha oc but later revamp her into a queen then to a hunter and basically she had a lot of things going on. Her name use to be Tenshi but I changed into Anacaona since it's Aztec for golden flower. She's not a fan of adventure and prefers to live a more comfortable life than one where danger is in the way. Other than that she's chill...until she's not. She's very intelligent in weapon making, camping, basically a survivalist in the wild.
Xian, I didn't change his name I was going to make him blasian but I scrapped the idea and now's he's a mixed between Hispanic and Asian. Xian in my oldest design was not going to be Pwyll and Anacaona's brother he was going to be a villain with many issues going on his head. Later on I made Xian, Pwyll and Anacaona siblings and scrapped James who use to be their sibling but not anymore. Now Aisling/James is a God. Personality wise well he's sleezy he has his way with people and can talk his way out of a box unlike his other two siblings, he's the middle child and he also has common sense but his common sense isn't the avoid of danger at all cause but more in let's think about how we're going in instead of busting down it all. He and Pwyll have rivalry going on and he also likes to mess with people if given the chance.
Oh and one more thing Tenshi is the oldest oc I have, so it's only natural for her to be the oldest sibling, Xian use to be a reference of another oc but I actually scrapped the idea and decided to separate them and then there's Pwyll his name used to be Sato but I decided to change the name. Both except Xian are bnha oc but not anymore.

hello and welcome to tumblr! the names of your characters are so cool! may i ask how you decide on them?
Hello!! When I name a character, I put together words or alphabets that come to mind unconsciously. LapidSeaDom and Ruxabluce are examples. They are named randomly, but MurtcepS is a reverse version of the word 'spectrum.'
Taiyan Tensei's 'Taiyan' takes on the name of Taiyan, King of the Sun, one of Osamu Sato's other games 'Chuteng'! Tensei is a slight variation of the angel's Japanese pronunciation, tenshi.

Report: Tenshi no Sato visit
Last Saturday I visited Tenshi no Sato in Arashiyama, Kyoto for the first time. For those who don't know, this is the ‘mecca’ for Super Dollfie – Akihabara Doll Point is more the mecca for Dollfie Dream, although Tenshi no Sato is a great deal more impressive. Tenshi no Sato roughly something like ‘angel’s homeland’, and is partly a store, museum and an overall beautiful facility specifically for Super Dollfie fans. Photos weren’t allowed in all parts of TnS, but I did take as many as I could in the places where they were allowed. This is just a recap of my stay there and what it was like.
Tumblr media
Tenshi no Sato is very easy to get to from Saga-Arashiyama station – and there’s actually a sign pointing the way near the station exit.
Tumblr media
The walk takes you around a massive wall – the area was way bigger than I expected! Eventually we get to the front entrance.
Tumblr media
You can see the entrance to the garden. The garden is absolutely huge and surrounds the building.
Tumblr media
Visitors are free to walk around in it – however, they have to be Super Dollfie fans. I noticed on the website that it’s actually against the rules to come here if you only want to see the garden and have no interest in the dolls. I am willing to be that this has happened numerous times in the past – I mean the huge walled garden right near the station does kind of stand out and SD isn’t exactly mainstream. (Not to mention that this garden is absolutely beautiful) Whatever happened in the past, there’s now the explicit rule that normies aren’t allowed: if you aren’t here for dolls, then you aren’t here at all bucko.
Tumblr media
This building you can see is the main building, which is four storeys high plus a basement floor!
The first floor is a general meeting/photography area that has themed displays throughout the year, and many glass cases with the limited edition tenshi SDs within. There were also numerous props around to take souvenir-type photos, so I got a bunch of Renee, who I bought with me as she’s my first and currently only SD. (Even though Dollfie Dream are also made by Volks, they’re recently made them no longer allowed at Tenshi no Sato – except in the bookable private photo studios. Those are pretty cool, and I did consider booking so I could take pics of Rin there, but they were kinda pricey - the idea is to book the rooms with a bunch of people who all share the cost.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There’s also a huge glass window that gives a nice view of the garden.’
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the far end of the hall is the…alter? I guess you would call it. People who get Full Choice orders here will get to welcome their dolls there in the Omukae (Greeting) Ceremony. Every Volks doll store in Japan (the Tenshi no Sumikas, plus Tenshi no Mado in Harajuku) have a special area for this, but the Sato one is incredibly extra. I was kinda hoping that I’d get to see one of the ceremonies happen, but unfortunately if any happened that day they were after we left. We were there as soon as it opened, so there weren’t that many people around the place (a lot more had shown up when we were leaving though.) I really should have taken a photo of it... I did put a short vid of the room here on instagram where you can see the alter in the back. You can borrow a basket to carry your doll around the facility with you, which is cute.
Tumblr media
The basement floor is the store, and its laid out absolutely beautifully. Photos weren’t allowed, but there were 3 parts to the store. One part is the same part that’s at other Volks stores in Japan, Tenshi no Sumika (Angel’s Nest), where they sell all the licensed Volks outfits and accessories, as well as a small spot for non-official outfits sold by dealers. The second part, near the register, featured a bunch of special Kyoto-themed products that could only be bought at Tenshi no Sato, such as tea and snacks and some other merchandise featuring the creepy black cat mascot. The third part is the most exciting, the beautiful room full of coordinate models ready for purchase, some of which (like the yoSDs) can only be bought there. (Tenshi no Sato and Tenshi no Mado in Harajuku are the only Volks stores where they sell these coordinate models). For the second time I managed to resist buying a SDM40 boy. 8’)
I also just wanna mention that the shop staff were incredibly nice, helpful and also pretty adorable themselves. They all were really happy to see Renee and thought she looked adorable sitting in the basket, and when I said SDM40 was my favourite sculpt one of the staff made the SDM40 girl wave at me. Stop making this more difficult ;-; If I hadn’t just gotten Renee I would have almost certainly left that room with one of the 40s. It’s a hall of temptation.
Also on this floor was the huge room dedicated to the Full Choice system, where people can place their orders for customized dolls and consult with the staff about their head sculpts, eyes and what the makeup should look like. After the payment is done, the dolls will take about 2 months to be completed, after which the owners can either have them shipped to their (Japanese) address or come back to the store for the incredibly extra yet somewhat adorable ceremony. Full Choice is available at other Volks stores in Japan, but TnS has a few special options only available there – such as fantasy ear parts, tan skin and genderless bodies. I’m used to the relatively small Full Choice counter in the Fukuoka Volks showroom so seeing such a giant room was really cool. And extremely tempting. I resisted the urge because I just got Renee, but I’m still here for one year so who knows…anyway.
On the third and fourth floors is the Super Dollfie museum, where past models are displayed. Since I only joined this hobby proper about 2 years ago, it was really cool to see the older ones and how different they looked back then. It was also really cool seeing so many of the ones I’d only seen in photos in ‘person’. There was also a space for displaying the current One-off models for sale – dolls with previous limited edition sculpts with new makeup and clothing made especially for them by certain dealers. They’re always incredibly expensive but they’re fun to look at. (They also have these in most Volks stores)
Nearby there were some more chair props so I took a few more pics of Renee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The top floor was another nice spot to relax, with a few more photo props.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It also had a really cool view of the town and mountains,  plus the beautiful garden.
Tumblr media
By chance, there was another Renee there as well!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We then went back down to the café. I’ve seen people complain that the café is too expensive, but it doesn’t seem that drastically different to a lot of other Japanese cafes to me. (or Australian cafes, for that matter). The cakes were cute and the tea was nice, so I’m not complaining. It seems like they change up the cakes on offer every now and then cos the selection was different to what I saw in an online report from a year or so ago. I got the green apple mousse cake and some tea.
Tumblr media
Next we went outside to explore the garden, which was a lot bigger than I expected.
If you follow the path through you eventually get to the Beauty Salon, which is where they can fix up broken, dirty, yellowed etc dolls, redo damaged faceups, etc. I saw a troupe of guys head in there with a huge suitcase.
Tumblr media
As for what these more traditional looking buildings are…I’m not sure. They didn’t seem to be open. I –think- they might have special events here sometimes, faceup classes, etc? If anyone knows enlighten me, I was really curious about them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No one else was in the garden, and it made me wonder if you were even allowed to take photos of dolls here. But the gardener saw me taking Renee back out and didn’t complain. He actually did come up to offer to take a picture of me and deadybones though. I guess no one wanted to be outside because it was so damn hot…although there weren’t that many people inside either, and those that were seemed to have Full Choice appointments or were otherwise busy.
Some more pics of the garden:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway, it was a beautiful building in a beautiful area and I was glad I got to visit and do Renee’s first proper photo shoot there. It was nice to have the place so empty as it felt like I had it to myself a lot of the time, but I’d like to go again when more people are around just to see everyone’s dolls.
I’m a VIP member since I currently live in Japan, but it’s still possible for overseas SD fans to visit Tenshi no Sato – you just need to apply for a one-day visitors pass which acts like a temporary VIP card. (The instructions are all on the website in English.) Note that it doesn’t allow you to do Full Choice – you need to live in Japan for that due to the 2 month wait – but you can buy any of the coordinate models.

"Fan Art Friday"!
Can you believe it is already August? This year is flying by way too quickly. I cannot keep up with time anymore. I am happy it is Friday;I am so ready for the weekend and to continue working on cosplay. (I am currently working on Konan's wings.)
Here is the third pair of my Akatsuki duo series, the founders of the Akatsuki itself. (As noted in my previous Akatsuki duo posts, I'm drawing the members without the robes/jackets, to make the fan art little different from one another. Plus, it is more interesting to show what they wear underneath.) It is never shown what Pain wears underneath his robes...in the manga, a little bit of the bottom of hiss shirt/top shows, and in the battle against Naruto...when his robe gets torn, it also shows a bit of a torn top. So I just made a simple shinobi top for him. I also did not feel like drawing him shirtless. *Laughs* As for Konan, Kishimoto stated that she turns into paper when she takes off her robe, and I didn't really feel like drawing her bare arms with a lot of paper. *Small laugh*
The Nihongo/Japanese: It says "Kami" (God) next to Pain; then "Tendou Pein", with the the Deva Path Pain. Konan's name is written, and then "Amegakure no Sato no Tenshi" (bascially, "The Angel of the Village Hidden By Rain").
Please check out my other Naruto fan art in my gallery. Thanks in advance to all of you who like and share my artwork here on Tumblr. (Please do NOT repost or share this off of Tumblr. It’s always good to ask the artist’s permission!)
Drawn with Sakura Pigma Micron pens. Red ballpoint pen for the Amegakure building and the rain. Copic Marker for all the other red.

As some might know, in Japan (in all Asian countries in general, but the picture is from Japan, a Shinto monk {not to be confused with Buddhism} sitting near dolls "soon to be departed"), it's something normal for people to make actual funerals for their "unwanted dolls", or, any figure that has "human shape" (the kanji for "doll" in japanese literally means "human shape").
Tumblr media
The popular belief comes mainly from mouth to mouth as generations passes (even Volks had its own version of it)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...for them, the spiritual world is as natural as the daily life, and the belief that the soul of a departed person (or a spirit) will "look for something human-like that resembles him/her and possess it", it's not seen as something "bad".
Now, as a western person you might be asking yourself "how is it that having a haunted doll at home it's cool?", but they see it with a different perspective. The spirits are not all bad as most western countries portrait them, and, accepting a spirit in your doll, it's often considered as accepting them as part of the family.
Spiritually speaking, the doll offers protection from other evil or "not so well intentioned spirits", they take care of children, and form happy memories with the people of their houses. The only catch is that humans don't live forever, so preparations must be made for the time in which "no one can take care of the doll", just as much as you would think it's disrespectful to just "toss your aunt to the garbage" when you decide to.
After all, passing the years, dolls DO become a part of the family.
As for the reasons why people depart from their dolls, the reason is different for each. Some say that a doll that has passed too much time watching you grow, will or might have an issue watching you get to the adulthood and getting married or form your own family. The doll might scare your love interest because it doesn't only fear you'll forget about it once you're with another person, or might think your boyfriend/girlfriend ""does not belong to their family""; so it might become a bit "possessive" over their "favorite human/s in the house"... and for asian countries (where getting married and forming a family is such a big deal), this might be "inconvenient".
Most times an owner leaving a doll on a shrine will say that it's "for lack of space" or other issues related to more mundane topics to avoid being tagged, but truth is that the dolls are being (depending upon the nature of the shrine, if Shintoist or Buddhist), left on temples or getting a full funeral service for them (cremation included).
The ultimate belief is that by doing so, the spirit will live at the temple, or, in full ceremonies, will be able to move on (to what ever place they choose to) after the humans give thanks to it for the years together, and burned out the doll, setting the spirit free again (to pass onto the spiritual realm, or, find a new family).
OP: I just wanted to share this, since I think it's a good way to feel about our dolls, we share fun memories with them (even bad ones), my oldest dolls have been with me for more than a decade, they're part of our family and as we take care of them, they might take care of us, who knows! 🎎
Tumblr media
If you think about it, even christian people believe in "spirits", the good old "guardian angel" that protects kids as they grow up, it's just a different version of the same story.
Most (if not all) religions and beliefs have in common that there's always a presence looking over our shoulders, watching out on us, and it's good... nevertheless, if you present the idea from one culture to another, each side might say "it's ridiculous", even if they're just the same concept with another name.
(pictures of a booklet showing "winged angels" at the "Thenshi No Sato" Volks central quarter's in Japan, as the Volks "mythology" sees their BJD as "guardian angels")
Tumblr media
The Rei-Tenshi, from Volks, can even be so small that can have angel wings but no articulation (mostly given on events), so they look more like a newborn baby angel charm to look after a (human) child than anything else... despite their collectable value, of course.

A few days ago I finally received my custom Oberon, who my friend proxy-ordered me from Tenshi no Sato when they were visiting Kyoto. He’s a SDGr 75, which is a sculpt I have wanted since before I had any ‘big’ resins and had been planning to make my first (although I had no plans for exactly what at the time, and then Cygnus came along and became the first ‘big’ one instead). He is order-make (the fully custom option) and I asked them to recreate a oneoff from 2021 that I really like. His wig is from mandarake (himekazura) and his eyes are from Swandoll.
Tumblr media
Right now, I don’t have his ‘actual’ outfit/s (i would like to comm them eventually though), nor his crown (still wondering how to go about making this, 3D print? 4 point star charms on a wire, if I can even find those?) but right now I just want to put pretty Obecore clothes on him. There’s a lot of really nice doll clothes of this aesthetic that I’ve never gotten into solely because it didn’t suit any of my other dolls. This outfit is from Relic (tomorry_no11 on twitter) and I think it suits his vibe a lot. His temporary crown is actually a star ribbon I found in a costume shop. He doesn’t have shoes yet, and sadly most of the Obecore shoes are too small for his manly feet since the fancier shoes are typically for girl dolls, who tend to have smaller feet.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The little Blanca is a felt silk moth made by bugs factory (muimui_s212 on twitter). She’s very cute and soft and her legs are poseable too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oberon managed to unseat even Waver as my favourite character, and since I first saw him I thought he resembled a doll so I’m glad to see this custom coming together.

REAL⇔FAKE Special Event Blu-Ray & DVD
☆★Blu-Ray and DVD of the special event “Cheers, Big ears!” held on the 12th and 13th of February will be released on June 24★☆
※For more info about pre-ordering this, refer to this tumblr post ( * ॑꒳ ॑* ) ノ
Tumblr media
Also, more pics under the cut! ★ ⸜(* ॑꒳ ॑* )⸝⋆*
Note: The pictures are not mine. Descriptions are based on the event details in the article. Full article linked at the bottom of this post ☆
Tumblr media
Team Kakeru x Rin (Sato Ryuji x Ozawa Ren) during the cake decoration contest in the event, in which Akane (Aoi Shouta) chooses the winning pair. Unfortunately, they lost to team Nagisa x Sena (Aramaki Yoshihiko x Wada Masanari) ^^;;
For the solo songs, the performance order was decided using draw lots, and the dreaded ‘lucky’ draw (first performer) was…
Tumblr media
Sawase Rin (Ozawa Ren), performing “Paradox”.
Next performer was his childhood friend (in the drama),
Tumblr media
Umehara Reijiro (Wada Masanari), who performed “Why Why Why”. It had some easy-to-follow moves so the audience enjoyed dancing along with him.
Tumblr media
Masayuki Sena (Wada Masanari) was next, serenading the audience with the mellow song “Someday”.
Tumblr media
Following the soothing peformance was Ikuta Yusuke (Ueda Keisuke) breaking the tranquil mood with the energetic rap opening from the song “From Now On”.
Tumblr media
Riding the crowd’s excitement, Nagisa (Aramaki Yoshihiko) went up next with his idol mode switched on, performing “P–F–Up!” with cute dance moves accompanying the upbeat tempo. (Yeah I wish the image showed the “cutesy” moves…)
Tumblr media
Next was Kakeru (Sato Ryuji), who excited the crowd in a different way with the rock song “Toxic Liar”.
And for the finale (though he wanted to be second),
Tumblr media
Akane (Aoi Shouta) filled the hall with melodious high notes from the song “Tenshi no Kokoro” (Angel’s Heart). While singing the chorus, white feathers fell down from above, completing the theme of the performance.
Of course, the event wouldn’t be complete without them performing the main theme, “REAL⇔FAKE”. But! Unlike in the PV, Akane dances with them~
Tumblr media
Once again, full article linked at the bottom of this post! But honestly even after reading it, watching it with my own two eyes would be infinitely better!! Thankfully, they’re releasing it as Blu-Ray and DVD ;o;

My top 10 favorite openings
Yeah I know nobody asked for it, but welcome to discover new music and hopefully new animes/mangas if they catch your eye. I won't include openings of romcoms or a few slice of life stories since I should make a different list for them. I'll add the name of the band if I find it. There's a couple of songs here from animes I didn't watch. If you think there's another amazing opening that should be listened to, share!
BTW I tend to listen to music on Youtube music, if you can support the work of these artists with this app, or Spotify, iTunes, or CDs, please do it!
DURARARA!! [Uragiri no Yuuyake - Theatre Brook]
Wonderful music, I don't have much to add since I haven't watched the anime but it looks interesting. This only time I'll only share the link to the video (couldn't find an official one) since I reach the limit of linked multimedia.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5-4eQuExgE
MOB PSYCHO 100 I [99 - Mob Choir]
I always thought this was some uninteresting anime, and well I was totally wrong. The animation is AWESOME, the story is really cool and explores some interesting perspectives about life that other shonen (or seinen?) ignore. It has a different style, it's kinda plain at times (and this might be good because it avoids unnecessary complexity) but in my opinion, much better than some popular animes of the moment. I feel it's very original, and stays as part of my top 10 manga/animes too.

FULL METAL ALCHEMIST BROTHERHOOD [Again - YUI]
This might be my favorite song. If I ever fall in a coma, try to wake me up with it, I'm sure it will work. I might be biased because this is the first anime I watched (when I didn't care about these kind of series) and I love it, and it's definitely my favorite (I was lucky to be gifted the first volume in japanese). The melody is calm and the lyrics are heart touching. FMA is a manga and anime you should add to your watch/read list without a doubt. Sharing short version of the song to find the channel of the artist.

BOKU NO HERO ACADEMIA [The day - Porno Grafitti]
I will never regret being on the bus playing this song on my phone (with headphones) being seen by people who would think something about the name of the band (like listening to anime openings almost every day wasn't already a weird thing). None of the other songs of BNHA surpassed the greatness of this song IMO.
About it, even though it gets criticism I think it's a good story, and I feel it can be incredibly creative at times - there's a reason why it's so popular after all. I should also remark that it pays attention to a lot of characters, secondary or villains have good development (something that I haven't seen in other shonen or they fail to do it, and remember BNHA has A LOT of characters).
This story is definitely going to be long, I think it's close to reach its first half, expect probably 70 volumes or so.

NARUTO [Kanashimi Wo Yasashisa Ni - Little by Little]
Wait? WHAT? Did you really pick this opening over Silhouette? I mean, no offense to Silhouette and the fantastic band KANA-BOON, but I've listened to it so many times (best memes lol), and I already didn't have it as my favorite. There are other openings that I love (Naruto Shippuden this time): 2, 3, 5, 9, 10, 14, 15 (Guren is the best one IMO), 16, 17, 20.
You didn't watch Naruto? Then what are you doing here? It's a must watch! It's a shonen with beautiful messages, inspiring characters, and this song probably embodies one positive vibe of the story - best part "the most important things are those without any shape".

PSYCHO PASS [Abnormalize - ling tosite sigure]
This anime is definitely in my favorite list, I feel it's the best seinen I've watched. Its manga is an adaptation, but the original story is the one that's animated. Some people say that season 2 and 3 aren't as good as the first and honestly it's hard to do something more brilliant than the incredible season 1, nonetheless you would miss the progress of the story and interesting characters if you only leave at the first one.
It reaches some philosophical thoughts that not all sci-fi can explore on the same way. Don't expect it to be an easy watch though - you better click pause to understand every dialogue.

SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN [Shinzou wo sasageyo - Linked Horizon]
Yeah, the first opening is AMAZING, but I might have a thing for 2nd openings. I must say that the synchronization of the scenes don't make justice for the melody of this song, though. Attack on Titan might reach the top 5 best shonen (is it shonen anyways?) anime/manga of all time.
I saw everyone talking about it and praising it, so I decided to watch the first episode and I couldn't get through it because of its disturbing art LMAO. My eye is accustomed to other kind of art, but I have to say I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. Good thing the second time I watched it I felt comfortable and discovered not only a mind-blowing story, but yeah, its animation is fantastic (take a peek at a few YT videos showing the process on the making of Levi's scenes). I only follow the manga to be updated, and I'm bad at recognizing characters, but you won't waste time or money by giving this one a chance.

THE PERFECT INSIDER [Talking - KANA BOON]
I tell you, this is a list of favorite openings, it doesn't mean I've watched all the anime, but I'm going to do it thanks to these fantastic songs, and KANA BOON deserved a mention. Also known as "Subete ga F ni Naru" this seinen anime is based on a novel.

youtube
MOB PSYCHO 100 II [99.9 - Mob Choir]
Wasn't this anime already on the list? No, no it's not (?) I mean, HOW CAN'T I INCLUDE THIS ONE. Fantastic. I thought I wouldn't be able to fall in love with the new opening but after listening to it twice I couldn't get it off my mind. There's a reason, well deserved reason, why it got chosen for the Crunchyroll awards...
undefined
youtube
NEON GENESIS EVANGELION [Zankoku na Tenshi no Te-ze - Yoko Takahashi/Hidetoshi Sato]
Starts with an angelic voice to a disco-like rhythm, and it's without a doubt a fantastic song. This might be the most famous opening of anime. Pay attention or watch twice if you want to understand the story, though.

🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹🎹
There is a song that's missing, don't you think so? This one can't be part of a top 10 because it's honestly so amazing that leaving it there would make it shine less, and it deserves the BEST recognition.
Special mention
TOKYO GHOUL [Unravel - TK from ling tosite sigure]
If I'm in a coma and the song Again didn't work, then this one will wake me up FOR SURE. I love how it embodies the angst of the story, the tragedy, the bad luck of the protagonist. I recommend to read the manga instead of keeping too loyal to the anime - it's no surprise that SP messed up with the storytelling of another manga... Did I say how hard it must be to play it on the piano? Or even sing it?

Tokyo police have arrested a man suspected of tracking down a female pop star, whom he later allegedly assaulted, by scrutinising reflections in her eyes from social media posts.
Hibiki Sato, a 26-year-old unemployed man from Saitama, north of Tokyo, has been arrested on charges of causing injury by forcible indecency after allegedly attacking Ena Matsuoka, 21, a singer with the group Tenshi Tsukinukeni Yomi, on September 1.
Police suspect Sato was able to narrow down the area in Tokyo where Ms Matsuoka lived by going through her social media photographs and enlarging the images, the Sankei Shimbun reported.
The enhanced photos revealed scenery and landmarks reflected in her eyes.  Sato then allegedly narrowed down the area using Google Street View, identifying the station closest to her home, before stalking Ms Matsuoka.
Police suspect Sato followed Ms Matsuoka from the station after she had finished a concert and attacked her as she entered her apartment building. Sato allegedly placed a towel over her head, threw her to the ground and molested her.
“People should be fully aware that posting pictures and video on social media runs the risk of divulging personal data”, a police investigator said.
The incident is just the latest involving obsessed fans of young female performers in Japan.
Mayu Tomita was 20 years old when she was attacked as she walked towards a concert venue in Tokyo where she was due to perform as part of the Sold Girls Night in May 2016. She was stabbed 60 times in the chest and neck by 27-year-old Tomohiro Iwazaki.
Iwazaki had sent Ms Tomita books and a wristwatch earlier in the year, but she returned them. He responded by sending her around 400 increasingly angry and threatening Twitter messages, which she reported to police.
After the attack, Tomita was treated in hospital for four months, is now partially blind in her left eye, has problems eating and singing, has not regained the full use of the fingers of one hand and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. She still needs to undergo regular reconstructive surgery. In February 2017, he was sentenced to 14 years and 6 months in prison.
In 2014, two members of the hugely popular all-girl band AKB48 were assaulted at a “handshake event” for fans in Iwate Prefecture. Rina Kawaei, 19, and 18-year-old Anna Iriyama sustained broken bones and lacerations in the incident, as did a member of staff, before the assailant was subdued.
