"Day 5: Cyberpunk AU"
My piece for the au roulette day of @narutorarepairweek
They are just made for that kind of AU so I immediately went for it.
Bonus Konan with wings
[Image ID: A digital drawing of Nagato and Konan in a Cyberpunk setting with purple as the main color used. Nagato is sitting on a wheelchair with a laptop on a slab attached to it. He has his right arm replaced with a bionic arm with the fingers ending in claws. He has a bunch of piercings: snake bites, one on the eyebrow, one on the ear and his navel is pierced too. He wears bandages on his legs up to his knee over dark blue pants. On his back, purple tubes are plugged with black connectors. He wears a transparent crop top. On his knees is Tendo, shirtless, who has mechanical parts showing on his arm and has an empty gaze, showing that he is currently deactivated. A bunch of cables are plugged to his back. Nagato is gently caressing his cheek while holding his waist. Behind them is Konan, she has the left side of her head shaved, wears orange lipstick and has a few piercings too: snake bites, labret, nose bridge and a few on the ears. She is wearing a dark short sleeve turtleneck and a purple flowers on her head. She's holding one of Tendo's hands, her other hand caressing his hair. Behind them is a bunch of computer setups, with two screens displaying purple rinnegan symbols. On the background is a bunch of servers with purple wiring on the left. On the center is a balcony with a view of cyberpunk amegakure. Over it cables are suspended to the ceiling as well as a little angel origami. On the left is a banner with the symbol of amegakure which is torn and ripped at the bottom, with a red horizontal paint strike over the symbol. On it is a picture of Hanzo being skewered by several black spikes. Between that and the balcony are two other pain paths, the human and asura paths, being stored in alcoves. They are wrapped standing up, respirator masks on the bottom of their face with a tube coming out of it, several plugs on the back of their heads and a blindfold over their eyes. /.End ID]

Jaegers of Pacific Rim: What do we know about them?
There's actually a fair amount of lore about Pacific Rim's jaegers, though most of it isn't actually in the movie itself. A lot of it has been scattered in places like Pacific Rim: Man, Machines, & Monsters, Tales From Year Zero, Travis Beacham's blog, and the Pacific Rim novelization.
Note that I will not be including information from either Pacific Rim: Uprising or Pacific Rim: The Black. Uprising didn't really add anything, and The Black's take on jaegers can easily be summed up as "simplified the concept to make a cartoon for children."
So what is there to know about jaegers, besides the fact that they're piloted by two people with their brains connected via computer?
Here's a fun fact: underneath the hull (which may or may not be pure iron), jaegers have "muscle strands" and liquid data transfer technology. Tendo Choi refers to them in the film when describing Lady Danger's repairs and upgrades:
Solid iron hull, no alloys. Forty engine blocks per muscle strand. Hyper-torque driver for every limb and a new fluid synapse system.
The novelization by Alex Irvine makes frequent references to this liquid data transfer tech. For example:
The Jaeger’s joints squealed and began to freeze up from loss of lubricant through the holes Knifehead had torn in it. Its liquid-circuit neural architecture was misfiring like crazy. (Page 29.)
He had enough fiber-optic and fluid-core cabling to get the bandwidth he needed. (Page 94.)
Newt soldered together a series of leads using the copper contact pins and short fluid-core cables. (Page 96.)
Unfortunately I haven't found anything more about the "muscle strands" and what they might be made of, but I do find it interesting that jaegers apparently have some sort of artificial muscle system going on, especially considering Newt's personnel dossier in the novel mentioned him pioneering research in artificial tissue replication at MIT.
The novelization also mentions that the pilots' drivesuits have a kind of recording device for their experiences while drifting:
This armored outer layer included a Drift recorder that automatically preserved sensory impressions. (Page 16.)
It was connected through a silver half-torus that looked like a travel pillow but was in fact a four-dimensional quantum recorder that would provide a full record of the Drift. (Page 96.)
This is certainly... quite the concept. Perhaps the PPDC has legitimate reasons for looking through the memories and feelings of their pilots, but let's not pretend this doesn't enable horrific levels of privacy invasion.
I must note, though, I haven't seen mention of a recording system anywhere outside of the novel. Travis Beacham doesn't mention it on his blog, and it never comes up in either Tales From Year Zero or Tales From The Drift, both written by him. Whether there just wasn't any occasion to mention it or whether this piece of worldbuilding fell by the wayside in Beacham's mind is currently impossible to determine.
Speaking of the drivesuits, let's talk about those more. The novelization includes a few paragraphs outlining how the pilots' drivesuits work. It's a two-layer deal:
The first layer, the circuity suit, was like a wetsuit threaded with a mesh of synaptic processors. The pattern of processor relays looked like circuitry on the outside of the suit, gleaming gold against its smooth black polymer material. These artificial synapses transmitted commands to the Jaeger’s motor systems as fast as the pilot’s brain could generate them, with lag times close to zero. The synaptic processor array also transmitted pain signals to the pilots when their Jaeger was damaged.
...
The second layer was a sealed polycarbonate shell with full life support and magnetic interfaces at spine, feet, and all major limb joints. It relayed neural signals both incoming and outgoing. This armored outer layer included a Drift recorder that automatically preserved sensory impressions.
...
The outer armored layer of the drivesuit also kept pilots locked into the Conn-Pod’s Pilot Motion Rig, a command platform with geared locks for the Rangers’ boots, cabled extensors that attached to each suit gauntlet, and a full-spectrum neural transference plate, called the feedback cradle, that locked from the Motion Rig to the spine of each Ranger’s suit. At the front of the motion rig stood a command console, but most of a Ranger’s commands were issued either by voice or through interaction with the holographic heads-up display projected into the space in front of the pilots’ faces. (Page 16.)
Now let's talk about the pons system. According to the novelization:
The basics of the Pons were simple. You needed an interface on each end, so neuro signals from the two brains could reach the central bridge. You needed a processor capable of organizing and merging the two sets of signals. You needed an output so the data generated by the Drift could be recorded, monitored, and analyzed. That was it. (Page 96.)
This is pretty consistent with other depictions of the drift, recording device aside. (Again, the 4D quantum recorder never comes up anywhere outside of the novel.)
The development of the pons system as we know it is depicted in Tales From Year Zero, which goes into further detail on what happened after Trespasser's attack on San Francisco. In this comic, a jaeger can be difficult to move if improbably calibrated. Stacker Pentecost testing out a single arm describes the experience as feeling like his hand is stuck in wet concrete; Doctor Caitlin Lightcap explains that it's resistance from the datastream because the interface isn't calibrated to Pentecost's neural profile. (I'm guessing that this is the kind of calibration the film refers to when Tendo Choi calls out Lady Danger's left and right hemispheres being calibrated.)
According to Travis Beacham's blog, solo piloting a jaeger for a short time is possible, though highly risky. While it won't cause lasting damage if the pilot survives the encounter, the neural overload that accumulates the longer a pilot goes on can be deadly. In this post he says:
It won't kill you right away. May take five minutes. May take twenty. No telling. But it gets more difficult the longer you try. And at some point it catches up with you. You won't last a whole fight start-to-finish. Stacker and Raleigh managed to get it done and unplug before hitting that wall.
In this post he says:
It starts off fine, but it's a steep curve from fine to dead. Most people can last five minutes. Far fewer can last thirty. Nobody can last a whole fight.
Next, let's talk about the size and weight of jaegers. Pacific Rim: Man, Machines, & Monsters lists off the sizes and weights of various jaegers. The heights of the jaegers it lists (which, to be clear, are not all of them) range from 224 feet to 280 feet. Their weights range from 1850 tons to 7890 tons. Worth noting, the heaviest jaegers (Romeo Blue and Horizon Brave) were among the Mark-1s, and it seems that these heavy builds didn't last long given that another Mark-1, Coyote Tango, weighed 2312 tons.
And on the topic of jaeger specs, each jaeger in Pacific Rim: Man, Machines, & Monsters is listed with a (fictional) power core and operating system. For example, Crimson Typhoon is powered by the Midnight Orb 9 power core, and runs on the Tri-Sun Plasma Gate OS.
Where the novelization's combat asset dossiers covers the same jaegers, this information lines up - with the exception of Lady Danger. PR:MMM says that Lady Danger's OS is Blue Spark 4.1; the novelization's dossier says it's BLPK 4.1.
PR:MMM also seems to have an incomplete list of the jaegers' armaments; for example, it lists the I-22 Plasmacaster under Weaponry, and "jet kick" under Power Moves. Meanwhile, the novelization presents its armaments thus:
I-22 Plasmacaster Twin Fist gripping claws, left arm only Enhanced balance systems and leg-integral Thrust Kickers Enhanced combat-strike armature on all limbs
The novel's dossiers list between 2-4 features in the jaegers' armaments sections.
Now let's move on to jaeger power cores. As many of you probably already know, Mark-1-3 jaegers were outfitted with nuclear power cores. However, this posed a risk of cancer for pilots, especially during the early days. To combat this, pilots were given the (fictional) anti-radiation drug, Metharocin. (We see Stacker Pentecost take Metharocin in the film.)
The Mark-4s and beyond were fitted with alternative fuel sources, although their exact nature isn't always clear. Striker Eureka's XIG supercell chamber implies some sort of giant cell batteries, but it's a little harder to guess what Crimson Typhoon's Midnight Orb 9 might be, aside from round.
Back on the topic of nuclear cores, though, the novelization contains a little paragraph about the inventor of Lady Danger's power core, which I found entertaining:
The old nuclear vortex turbine lifted away from the reactor housing. The reactor itself was a proprietary design, brainchild of an engineer who left Westinghouse when they wouldn’t let him use his lab to explore portable nuclear miniaturization tech. He’d landed with one of the contractors the PPDC brought in at its founding, and his small reactors powered many of the first three generations of Jaegers. (Page 182.)
Like... I have literally just met this character, and I love him. I want him to meet Newt Geiszler, you know? >:3
Apparently, escape pods were a new feature to Mark-3 jaegers. Text in the novelization says, "New to the Mark III is an automated escape-pod system capable of ejecting each Ranger individually." (Page 240.)
Finally, jaegers were always meant to be more than just machines. Their designs and movements were meant to convey personality and character. Pacific Rim: Man, Machines, & Monsters says:
Del Toro insisted the Jaegers be characters in and of themselves, not simply giant versions of their pilots. Del Toro told his designers, "It should be as painful for you to see a Jaeger get injured as it is for you to see the pilot [get hurt.]" (Page 56.)
Their weathered skins are inspired by combat-worn vehicles from the Iraq War and World War II battleships and bombers. They look believable and their design echoes human anatomy, but only to a point. "At the end of the day, what you want is for them to look cool," says Francisco Ruiz Velasco. "It's a summer movie, so you want to see some eye candy." Del Toro replies, "I, however, believe in 'eye protein,' which is high-end design with a high narrative content." (Page 57.)
THE JAEGER FROM DOWN UNDER is the only Mark 5, the most modern and best all-around athlete of the Jaegers. He's also the most brutal of the Jaeger force. Del Toro calls him "sort of brawler, like a bar fighter." (Page 64.)
And that is about all the info I could scrounge up and summarize in a post. I think there's a lot of interesting stuff here - like, I feel that the liquid circuit and muscle tissue stuff gives jaegers an eerily organic quality that could be played for some pretty interesting angles. And I also find it interesting that jaegers were meant to embody their own sort of character and personality, rather than just being simple combat machines or extensions of their pilots - it's a great example of a piece of media choosing thematic correctness over technical correctness, which when you get right down to it, is sort of what Pacific Rim is really all about.

Okay, here is a translation for everyone (including me) who don't speak Portuguese:
After seeing your last post from ra's, I had to come make this request. Reader being Dick's age and being Bruce's biological son, Ra's and he have a relationship and are about to get married. (on the wedding day we have the justice league and the bad guys present, it's up to you how to proceed, please have a cute moment between father and son)
Summary: (Y/N) is getting married to Ra's. Bruce is not sure how to proceed.
Warnings: everyone put their own differences aside for our couple, Bruce is proud and emotional, fluff, wedding fluff, (Y/N)'s mom is not Talia, emotional family, mentions of the Light.
Tumblr media
Bruce was still in shock. Even days later after being told the biggest news in his life right now. It has been a normal dinner with Ra's and (Y/N). The two have been together for about 3 years now and even though everyone was skeptic of the relationship at first, later they saw how (Y/N) was being treated.
Somehow, Bruce has felt at ease, but there is always that underlaying feeling of fear for his son being manipulated, but he didn't let his son or anyone else see it. (Y/N) is happy, Ra's is happy with is son and treats him like he is royalty.
When (Y/N) moved out of the manor to live with Ra's, Bruce had to admit, it was difficult. (Y/N) has moved to a whole another side of the world and Bruce was sad, but it was (Y/N)'s life and he is an adult. And Bruce has made sure that the manor is always a place where (Y/N) can come back.
There would be no judgement if something is to happen with (Y/N)'s and Ra's relationship. Bruce has threatened Ra's that if he hurt (Y/N) in any way, shape or form, Bruce would go after Ra's big time and would destroy everything that Ra's has built.
Ra's has promised Bruce that he genuinely loves (Y/N) and would never do something to hurt him intentionally or unintentionally.
Bruce knows that Ra's doesn't lie and that he is a man of his word, but there is always that fear in back of Bruce's mind. He knows Ra's very well and is aware of everything he has done.
(Y/N) and Bruce have been talking about the changes on the phone during their talks on the phones whenever they managed, but it was at least once a day. (Y/N), as much as he loved his suit and his vigilante identity, he has decided to retire it for now.
And as much as it pained Bruce to hear it, again, this is (Y/N)'s life and he can do what he wants. At first, Bruce thought that Ra's forced him to retire it, but (Y/N) and Ra's quickly shut down the idea of being forced.
Bruce could only sigh quietly in relief.
But one thing that he didn't expect to hear from his son was 'Ra's proposed to me.' That made Bruce head spin and he swore that everything went blank for a moment.
Then he passed out cold after standing up. There were shouts of his name and he was promptly hauled onto the couch, Alfred putting a cold towel in his head. He suspected that his blood pressure that just went down.
Bruce came to after 5 minutes and he gave his son a hug. He will swear and claim until the day he dies that it was from shock and not from anything else. Pure shock. And it takes a lot to get Bruce to pass out from shock and just to shock him in general.
Ra's, as much as he was concerned for Bruce as his father in law, he wanted to laugh. But then he realized that the others would go after him big time and (Y/N) would be mad at him.
Bruce and Ra's don't talk about it at all. Even when Bruce was with his son in (Y/N)'s room. It was nerve wracking for (Y/N), who never thought that he would ever get married. Especially in front of the League of Light too, but everyone came as civilians.
They have agreed to keep things civil for Ra's and (Y/N).
And once the wedding is over, they are going to go back to fighting once more. Bruce watched as (Y/N) paced, nervous in his white tuxedo.
" Bruce, I'm so nervous. " (Y/N) said, rubbing his face.
" What is there to be nervous about? I know you love him and that he loves you. " Bruce said and (Y/N) chuckled, shaking his head.
" I love him Bruce. There is no doubt about it. I wouldn't have said yes if I didn't love him. " (Y/N) said and sat on the bed next to Bruce.
" You know what you didn't tell me? " Bruce prompted as he put an arm around (Y/N)'s shoulders.
" What would that be? "
" It would be how he proposed to you. I passed out when you told me and then we didn't talk about the proposal, we talked about the wedding preparations here. I still can't believe that the Light is in my garden. " Bruce grumbled and (Y/N) chuckled quietly.
" All right, I will tell you the story now. " (Y/N) said, adjusting himself in his old room. It felt very weird to be back here after moving to live with Ra's.
" He came to Gotham and we went to my favorite restaurant. " (Y/N) started, sighing quietly and dream like. He leaned on Bruce and Bruce happily allowed it.
" Then he took me to Paris, you always know I wanted to visit. And in a VIP booth of the restaurant we were in, he started telling him I'm the best thing that has ever happened to him and then he got down on one knee and popped the question. I cried for 10 minutes. " (Y/N) said and Bruce snorted.
" I didn't think you were such a sappy person. " Bruce joked and (Y/N) tried to get away from him in mock hurt, but Bruce hugged him tightly. " I'm just kidding son. "
" You better. " (Y/N) said and Bruce smiled.
" You know, I never thought that you would be getting married. " Bruce said, giving (Y/N) a soft kiss to the head. " Especially not to Ra's. "
" Way to ruin the moment B. " (Y/N) said, patting his dad on the arm to let him go.
" Are you ready to go? " Bruce said and (Y/N) nodded. Was he really ready? He had enough anxiety for at least 3 people so that would probably not be a yes, but a no.
" Just relax. Once you exchange vows and you have your first dance, you will want to get out of here. "
(Y/N) just raised his brow in question. " And you know that how? " (Y/N) asked as Bruce lead him through the familiar halls.
" A good friend told me. Now, put a ring on him and go to your honey moon. Where are you going? Bahamas, Maldives... " Bruce started, trying to coax an answer.
" Actually, we are going to Switzerland. He has a cabin there and it has just snowed. "
" So you, Ra's and the woods? " Bruce asked, crinkling his noes together. (Y/N) smacked Bruce's arm at the implication.
" Stop it. " (Y/N) warned with a warm smile, no anger in his voice or face. Just pure amusement.
" You know I'm kidding. Now, lets get this show on the road. " Bruce said, adjusting his grip on (Y/N). Bruce still didn't believe that he would give him away, as if he was a bride, to Ra's.
(Y/N) took a deep breath when the music started. Bruce didn't show any type of anxiety, but he was... He does not really feel like he can do this calmly.
The ceremony went without a single hitch. A single one. Bruce and the rest of the guests have shed some tears when the vows were being exchanged. These two really love one another. Bruce wiped his eyes quickly and hugged Damian from the side. Damian was quietly crying from the emotions he felt.
Damian has never felt those emotions. Ever in his life. Jason, Dick and Tim weren't doing any better. Dick was on the verge of wailing and Jason was just trying not to cry. Tim was crying quietly in his seat. He was huffing quietly and everyone clapped when the two shared a kiss.
They had their first dance outside on the stage outside in the garden. The two were surrounded by gentle light, dancing to their song. Bruce had to hide inside after the dance to compose himself. After he got some composure back, he went outside to the garden.
He watched the villains as they mingled through the crowd. Bruce knows for a fact that they all want to hurt one another, but it is nice to see that they can all be civil for once.
Especially when they all knew each others identities. The reason why they don't even try to kill one another is because there is the factor of revenge. You do something to the kids, you can expect the world to be burned to the ground.
And if you go after the parents too, the kids are going to burn the world for them. Same would go for the villains and their kids too.
In conclusion, the world would burn.
Bruce had to admit it was all nice to see. There are no plans to destroy something, nothing to send a message or just hurt anyone. Just people having fun and celebrating love.
" Hey dad. " (Y/N) greeted as he sat down next to his father outside in the garden. Everyone moved inside to continue celebrating, but Bruce needed some air. And evidently so did (Y/N).
" You left Ra's already? " Bruce teased and (Y/N) snorted at the statement.
" No. I left him to deal with everyone talking. I have hit my social limit. Ra's is thankfully an extrovert who can do it for hours on end. " (Y/N) said and Bruce had to nod at that.
" I still can't believe you got married. " Bruce said, looking at his son in his white tuxedo. He appeared relaxed and happy, despite being surrounded by a lot of people, both heroes and villains.
" I know. I'm more shocked by the fact that everyone is civil tonight. " (Y/N) noted and Bruce had to admit, it is shocking. But as long there is no trouble, it will all go smooth.
" I want to thank you. For allowing us to have the ceremony and reception here. " (Y/N) said and Bruce hugged him tightly.
" No need to thank me. I will do it for every one of you. Expect for maybe Damian. I love him, but I don't think that he will open his mind to love. " Bruce said, resting his head on top of (Y/N)'s.
" Never say never B. Give him time. " (Y/N) mumbled and Bruce nodded. He looked over to the entrance where Ra's was standing, watching the scene. (Y/N) turned in Bruce's arms, smiling at Ra's, his husband.
Still a weird thing to say.
" I don't mean to intrude, but we have to go to our honeymoon. " Ra's said and Bruce let go.
" I will walk you both out. " Bruce said and led the duo through the house to the front entrance. The other boys followed too and Alfred also decided to see his grandson off.
" Now, I want weekly phone calls and dinners at least every 3 months. Ra's is invited too. " Bruce said as he hugged his son and shook hands with Ra's.
" You know the drill, something happens to (Y/N), Alfred is going after you. " Bruce said and Ra's nodded. (Y/N) said goodbye to his brothers and Alfred with hugs and promises of communication often. After the goodbyes, Ra's and (Y/N) got into the car and left.
Bruce brought his sons and Alfred into a hug when the left. Everyone teared up to a certain degree.
" I can't believe he grew up. " Dick said, tears flowing.
" I can't believe I don't have my partner in crime anymore. " Jason said, wiping his eyes every second.
" I can't believe he is... No. He is not grown up. " Tim declared.
" I can't believe that he is marrying my grandfather. " Damian declared with some amusement in his voice and everyone laughed.
" And I can't believe that (Y/N) grew up in front of my eyes. " Alfred concluded the circle and now everyone officially teared up at this thought.
" Now, get some composure and then we are going to escort the guests and then we are going to break down. " Alfred said, wiping his eyes.
There was a chorus of yups and yesses. Damian yawned and couldn't even stand at this point.
" Dick, I need you to carry me to my room. " Damian said and Dick nodded.
" I don't know if I can sleep when (Y/N) isn't officially here anymore. " Jason has admitted and an unspoken sleepover arranged.
" My room, 10 minutes? " Dick said, putting Damian over his shoulder as if he was a sack of potatoes.
" Yup." Was the unanimous answer.
" Master Bruce, I will need some assistance. I need someone who can take those villains on. I feel like I'm going to get my ass kicked. " Alfred said as he turned to walk back to the house.
The others followed too and Bruce stayed for a few moments. It will be difficult to adjust to (Y/N)'s absence, but they will manage. If (Y/N) doesn't call weekly, he will have to resort to kidnapping him back home.

ranma/akane
this one is about a drunk ranma lmao but i've also had this one dusting so here i am letting it see the light of day (just simple moments between the two)
She knew it wouldn’t be a good idea for Ranma to go drinking with Mr. Saotome and her father – especially when Grandfather Happosai was a part of the tag-along package deal – but there wasn’t much she could insist when it came to proving just how much of a “man” he could be by outdrinking all his elders. Her reckless fiancé was a stubborn mind, and although he usually managed to pull through, that night it was proven that some battles he was just meant to lose.
All the women of the Tendo household drowsily dragged their feet down the flight of stairs to unwillingly welcome the men back home, noting it was well past midnight, and all but one appearing as though they were to be sick. Grandfather Happosai had been the man to survive whatever drinking-game that had come about, and easily waltz in full glory as a prideful grin stamped his cheek, continuously making a mockery of the situation.
Akane felt her pulsing temples, slightly upset at the whole ordeal pitifully displaying two grown men with the newly high school graduate clearly drunk.
The young teen watched as her oldest sister gasped in disbelief when seeing her father in such an unwell state, just before she and Nabiki latched onto him and took him to bed. Auntie Saotome giggled lightly, breathing what seemed to express a breath of relief as she reached for her husband and glancing over at Akane, “Oh, men.” Without another word she made her way up the stairs, Mr. Saotome’s arm hooked behind her neck for support, willingly following every step she took.
In a matter of minutes, Akane found herself alone with what seemed to be boastful Ranma Saotome grinning towards her, his body trying to keep itself composed, and very obviously failing. His body slightly wobbled left and right, and his cheeks blushed variations of red up and down his neck, a clear indication that he was heated up due to the alcohol.
What he was smiling about, she didn’t know, but couldn't deny that she was curious.
She crossed her arms across her chest, prodding an eyebrow upwards in such an expected way, he found himself chuckling dryly.
“You’re such a dork,” she found herself thinking out loud, a smirk of her own tugging the corner of her mouth, just before she came to the realization that she was left to mend after him.
“I beat them,” he grinned, his bragging tone high and mighty. Was he so drunk he didn’t think he was intoxicated at all?
“Oh, yeah? Walk to me,” Akane demanded as she stood no more than four feet away from him. The challenge gleamed across her eyes, and who was he to turn down such an opportunity to prove her wrong.
Without missing a beat, Ranma lifted his foot with the simple intention of walking but just a couple of steps towards her when the young martial artist went tumbling down.
The loud thud only made her want to laugh at him, but instead, the dark-haired girl reached down and did her best to take him into the family room. He was still conscious, which helped settle him on the floor, using some cushions to prompt his head up.
“Seriously,” Akane groaned as she fluffed the round cushion, “you just had to go along with their antics.”
“I needed to prove myself!”
She simply rolled her eyes, because when it came to Ranma, everything was a challenge. “You certainly did not,” she sighed, amused at every outrageous (and sometimes grotesque) situations he always seemed to place himself in. Although, this one was definitely one of the more normal ones.
“Why is it so hot?” His words slurred, but she managed to understand him well. He scrunched his eyes together, the palm of his hand suddenly slapping his cheek before dragging itself up to push the oversized fringe of bangs draping over his view. He didn’t seem to be in pain, rather the very opposite comportment to just moments ago.
She reached her own hand to feel his cheek, and then his forehead, feeling his sweat against her skin. “Just how much did you and dad drink?” She asked no one in particular.
She pushed herself up and walked into the kitchen to find Nabiki getting a glass of water. “How’s dad?”
“Father started puking,” Nabiki responded very nonchalantly, rolling her eyes at the way Akane’s eyes widen before she explained further, “he just had too much to drink, dummy. Nothing to worry about. Although, technically, he could have choked on his own vomit were we not there to help him settle into bed.” Kasumi had done the best she could to clean their father and his bed, and Nabiki was just getting him some water. He was in great hands, but she couldn't not be worried.  “Just keep an eye on that fiancé of yours. I don’t know how much he drank compared to daddy.”
Akane winced at the way the word fiancé smoothly slid through Nabiki’s teeth; she pushed past it to find what her sister was saying to be true. She didn’t want Ranma to sleep on a puddle of his own throw up, and definitely didn’t want to risk him choking on it.
She returned with a small kitchen towel that she had run under the cool water, and a glass of water, just in case he needed it. She quickly pressed the fresh cloth against his skin and gently dragged it up to press and rest on his forehead, a thin smile spreading as his body flinched at the unexpected gesture.
Akane found herself comfortable as she watched him drift off into a slumber, wondering whether she was going to try and carry him up the stairs or wake him. He was breathing deeply, she noted, as his wide chest rose steadily up and down. He seemed so serene, finding him quite cute when he wasn’t talking out his ass. She scoffed a light laughter, her hand twitching at wanting to bonk his head silly.
Her hand reached over to push chunks of his fringe away from his face, noting he needed a trim as the tips seem to be reaching the bridge of nose.
"You’re so dumb,” she found herself muttering, shaking her head in disbelief, although not completely surprised to be the one tending after him.
“God, ‘Kane,” he grunted lowly, quickly and easily startling her as she believed him to be unconscious, “can’t you ever be nice to me.”
She scoffed, nervously pushing strands of her own hair behind her ear frantically hoping she wasn’t caught watching him sleep in the way she was admiring him. “I’ll gladly start when you start,” she found herself challenging the drunk teen, not really thinking anything would come out of the interaction, but desperately wanting to rile him into some sort of distraction.
“I’m always nice to you!”
She scoffed again, aware that he truly did believe he was nice to her; there were times he might have unintentionally expressed generous comments about her, but they were never to be nice, they were simply happy accidents on her account.
“Like when?”
She was looking down at him, still lying on the floor with the damp towel on the upper half of his face hoping it covered his sight completely. She could see him thinking, trying to muster something – anything – up just to prove his point. And she found it amusing, letting the seconds slide as she watched him groan with irritation.
“I’ve saved you multiple times, ya’ know!”
Akane dry laughter must have caused some sort of reaction because Ranma was now trying to sit up, holding the damped towel in a soft grip.
“Ranma, that wasn’t you being nice, that was you being a decent human being. Also,” she said as she watched him successfully slouch forward, his eyes still half-lidded with a light overlay of blush at the apples of his cheeks, “go ahead and drink some water. It should help sober you up.”
He glanced at her for a few seconds, silent before looking over at the almost full glass of water she held in her hand, reaching over to him. He took it and gulped all of it down, without hesitation and gently placed the cup down on the floor with them.
“Thank you,” he found himself saying quietly, keeping the ambience steady, not realizing just how thirsty he actually had been, and just how incredible the water felt when it flushed down his throat and splashed the inside of his chest.
Akane found herself smiling at the way he thanked her. “Are you ready to go to bed?”
Ranma’s eyes widen abnormally large, his mouth opening slightly before shutting it tight with the intention of swallowing the knot choking him. “I’m sure Auntie Saotome’s waiting for you,” she continued, her following statement calming him immensely before coming to the realization at where his mind had gone to in mere seconds.
“C’mon,” she offered, getting up from her knees and stretching both her arms towards him offering him a boost up, thinking he was probably too weak to try and stand up. Although, this was ranma, after all. He was never too weak for anything, “I’m dying for you to wake up with such a massive headache in the morning and blame anyone but yourself.”
She grinned mischievously down at him, expecting him to minimum stick his tongue out at her as a defense, but all he did was remind her, “I am nice to ya’, I just can’t remember.”
“Yeah, well maybe you could be nicer.”
“Like how?”
Was he genuinely asking?
“I don’t know Ranma, just be sweet, I guess.”
“Sweet, huh?”
Akane crouched down, sitting on her bottom on the floor but keeping her knees bent, knitting her eyebrows together as she watched him intensely. “Ranma,” she said to him in a calm voice, half-taunting, half-curious what he was babbling about, “you’re drunk. Go to bed.”
“You look beautiful, ya’ know.”
She wasn’t expecting that. “Uh.” Was he messing with her? Was he taunting her? Poking fun? Still, she needed to do something about the absurd reddening of her face to his comment. “It shouldn't be forced,” she found herself replying to him. She knew he was probably expecting some sort of thank you, but she didn’t know if she wanted to give him one.
“It’s not.” He fought back, his eyebrows indenting together, bothered that she didn’t believe him.
“Well,” Akane sighed, “kinda’ feels like you said it to prove a point, rather than because it came from the heart.”
“Well,” Ranma said, leaning slightly forward towards her, and although he wasn’t that close, she could still smell the alcohol in his breath that reminded her he was indeed intoxicated as he reminded her, “I don’t lie.”
She pursed her lips pondering to herself, wondering what this was all about. “Okay,” she found herself saying something out loud.
“Now you say something nice about me.”
Akane laughed again, “This isn’t how it works.”
“So,” he retorted, “we don’t always have to follow the rules.”
“Yeah, but just because you said something nice doesn’t mean I owe you something in return.”
“Aw, c’mon, I said you were cute.”
“No,” she grinned, “you said I look beautiful.”
“That was nice of me, huh?”
“God, you’re such a dork.” She wanted to frown at him, but the corners of her mouth were not willingly pushing down, and instead she pushed him away; not harshly, just a gentle nudge that nonetheless forced him to lean back down as she said, “I’m going to bed.”
“Wait,” he called after her, but she didn’t stop for him, not caring if he couldn’t get himself up the stairs. “’Kane, be nice!”
“Goodnight, Ranma.”

“You’re always leaving me.”
He turned around to see you, standing in your doorway, with a wry smile plastered on your face. He’s not quite sure how to respond to that. He wanted to stay. He really does. But both of you knew that’s not how this works.
Seeing how he’s at a loss for what to say, you simply hugged him. You’re not sure how many hugs it had been at this point, but it didn’t matter. You made sure that this last hug is tighter than the ones before.
“Sorry, that was a stupid thing for me to say. Have a safe flight.”
You chuckled lightly before letting go of him. It was a dry chuckle, and it pained him to hear that coming out of you.
It’s not like this was the first time he had to say a temporary goodbye to you. You two had been through this several times and more already. Although it never got any easier as you’d initially hoped. You were lonely on days when he’s not with you. And so was he. So instead of walking towards the cab waiting outside, he walked back inside the house, dragging you alongside him. You tried to frantically stop him, reminding him of his schedule. He simply grinned cheekily at you before pulling you closer to him.
“That can wait,” he started to sway back and forth with you still in his arms, “Or I can just cancel this one and call for another.” Your tense shoulder relaxed a bit upon hearing his laidback exclamation. You let him lead you through your living room, slow dancing to a silent song only audible to the both of you.
“You should pay the driver as compensation for wasting his time, you know?”
“Mhm. And you should pack your bags and come with me.”
You looked at him, amused. “We BOTH know that’s not how this works.”
He raised a brow, a smirk making its way onto his face. “That coming from the person who complained about me always leaving them?” He twirled you around, looking more at ease now.
“Stop bringing up the past,” you huffed, resting your head on his chest and listening to his steady heartbeat, savouring the moment. You’d trade everything you have for this moment to last even a minute more.
Looking up at him, you then cupped his cheeks, which seemed to perfectly fit in your hands, bringing it closer to your face. “I’m lonely whenever I’m without you," you admitted, a slight pink hue making its way onto your cheeks. It’s a bit embarrassing to admit such a thing aloud, but you figured that it’s now or never.
He hummed once again, before breathing out a "Me too," and placing his lips on top of yours. You both melted into the kiss, but you suddenly gently pulled away from him, giggling.
"I seriously think you need to get going now before you miss your flight."
His pout was visible and you couldn't help but to adore his cuteness. "Just a little while longer," he said, pulling you closer once again to his face and with your foreheads touching. "Just a little bit more…"
You closed your eyes and let out a soft chuckle this time, all the while letting him caress your cheeks. “Alright, just a little while longer then.”

The Different Components of a Drivesuit & The Drift
Pons Machine: The machine created and developed by Caitlin Lightcap, that allows two brains to join together into a single consciousness. Early designs of this machine looked something like skeletal clamps (or those scalp massagers, if that’s more your style), but the design was altered slightly to rest within a pilot’s helmet, allowing them to Drift with each and the Jaeger when it’s on.
Circuitry Suit: A suit that is skin tight, somewhat like a wetsuit that a surfer may use. It uses a synaptic processor mesh (synaptic is in reference to the word synapse, which is the juncture between neurons) to interface and connect with the central nervous system. The interior is designed to resemble a circuitry board woven into the black polymer material with which the suit is designed. The suit itself uses technology to read the electronic potential of muscular cells and evaluate the movement made by skeletal muscles and relay these movements and impulses to the Jaeger with a time lag close to zero, keeping the reaction speed of the machine almost equal to the speed with which the human skeletal muscles can generate impulses; however, this suit works both ways. In an effort to keep the pilots’ responses as quick and accurate as possible, pain is also transmitted by this connection, meaning the pilots can feel whatever hits a Jaeger takes.
Battle Armor: The armor that we, as the viewers, see pilots wearing when in a Jaeger. It is created of a polycarbonate substance and helps a pilot overcome the intensive physical strain placed on a human body when piloting a Jaeger. Additionally, it can protect the pilots from outside danger such as debris.
Spinal Clamps: A complex series of moving parts that is always active, as shown in the movie. When it comes into contact with a pilot’s battle armor, the spinal clamp will secure itself to the pilot’s vertebrae (or, more likely, the circuitry suit right above the vertebrae), linking the pilot’s circuitry suit to different parts of the Jaeger’s spine. The spinal clamp also connects and secures the back of the body armor.
Helmet: This is the final piece of the body armor, designed to protect the pilot’s head; however, it has many other purposes. At the point above the jaw (marked by circles on several of the designs in the movie), the helmets contain communicators that allow pilots to easily communicate verbally with each other and LOCCENT. Helmets can also provide emergency oxygen to pilots if they are trapped in a wrecked Conn-Pod or submerged in the ocean. Finally, and most importantly, the helmets of a pilot’s battle armor contain the Pons Machine necessary to Drift.
Data Relay Gel: A substance within the helmet that sends the electronic impulses of one pilot to another. While the pilot’s minds are one, they also need to have synchronized movements, so relay gel allows the detected movements from one pilot’s circuitry suits to be relayed to the other.
Mind Meld: To begin the Drifting process, the Pons Machine must be activated and the pilots must engage in the Mind Meld. This is when pilots share memories with each other, as well as emotions and instincts. During this process, pilots go silent and let the memories flow by while attempting to clear their minds of all thoughts.
R.A.B.I.T.: A Random Access Brain Impulse Trigger. “Chasing the R.A.B.I.T.” or latching onto the memory is highly discouraged, as it may cause a pilot to become trapped within a memory. While this isn’t necessarily dangerous, it has been known to translate into a Jaeger’s actions (Mako accidentally activating the Plasmacaster) and at a certain point, it becomes highly difficult to tear a pilot from the memory without forcefully disengaging the Drift.
Neural Handshake: The final step. The neural handshake allows the pilots to connect to the Jaeger and control its movements. In all situations, this process is overseen by a PPDC J-Chief LOCCENT Officer (Tendo Choi, in the movie) to ensure the connection remains stable. This step is only possible if the pilots are in an active Drift and are connected to the motion rig within the Conn-Pod.
Headspace: The space created by the melded minds of pilots in the Drift. This headspace allows pilots to communicate at extremely quick speeds.
Drivesuit Room: A room that pilots enter before boarding the Conn-Pod. Within this room, technicians help pilots into their Circuitry Suit, Body Armor, and Helmet. Because of time restrains, technicians and pilots must be prepared to deploy in seven minutes or less.
Conn-Pod: The central control system of every Jaeger. Pre-launch, Conn-Pods are detached from the Jaegers. While detached, pilots board the Conn-Pod and are secured to a motion rig, as well as a hydraulic platform. After the Drop, the Conn-Pod connects to the rest of Jaeger and opens various interfaces. Once this process is complete, pilots can view a layout of the environment around them, access a physical control panel to power the weapons, and engage in the neural handshake.
Motion Rig: The system that secures a pilot to their Jaeger. It is a mechanical cradle that connects to the spinal clamps and arms of both pilots and must be sealed in place by technicians.
Hydraulic Platform: The complex mechanical structure beneath the feet of the pilots which allows them to move the Jaeger. Additionally, this system locks the pilots’ boots into place.

Hinata Before war arc
A bit of scaling for hinata despite little screen time.
Just a little recap:
a member of the Hyuuga clan Hinata is capable of performing the gentle fist. This taijutsu is blatantly broken because it basically allows the user to ignore your defense/durability and attack your internal organs directly. According to Lee and Guy a single scratch from the gentle fist is capable of ending a fight with no problems ch79
Tumblr media
Kakashi says if the gentle fist were to land you’re done because there is no way that you can train your internal organs to sustain damage.
Tumblr media
*
Hinata in Sasuke Retrieval Mission Team (Before pain arc); Hinata being an asset to the team in mission of finding Sasuke during encounter with Tobi/Obito.
Team 8 really just there to track and locate mostly this arc was mostly info gathering. Almost catching Sasuke in the process
maxium of her sight is 10 kilometers
Tumblr media
As for genjutsu, Hinata should have good awareness if genjutsu is casted. We also see Hinata can see the genjutsu caster even while in genjutsu and seems pretty confident about it.(This is most likely a result of Kurenai's training.) Another, thing is she can expand the range of her sight as well.
Tumblr media
Pain Arc
In the animated version Pain is toying with her(kinda OCC) whilst nonchalantly dodging all her attacks until Hinata gets a freebee hit when Nagato was dying. The animated fight showed that pain was faster than her and she never landed anything.
much shorter her feat’s (manga) are more impressive to the point that you can classify it as an outlier for her character. For starters, in the manga Hinata did push Pain back, (look at Pain's feet) Pain had to block/tank every hit until he got an opening to use shinrai tensei.
the Klak-klak-klak sfx is usually used for sword clashes, the clashes here being Hinata’s Gentle fists vs Tendo’s chakra
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The feat is even more crazy when you take into account that Hinata was pushing him back without even activating her Twin lion fist which according to the Databook increases the range and destructive power of the gentle fist exponentially.
Tumblr media
And yes Hinata did push pain back, we have seen this use in the story. same “klak”“klak” “klak” panel multiple times, most notably in the Sasuke vs Killer bee fight where Bee was absolutely destroying sasuke in CQC
Tumblr media
he didn’t have access to an instant basically an undodgeable technique called shinra tensei. If Tendo was much faster than Hinata it would’ve been nonsensical for Nagato to waste chakra on someone he could’ve easily killed or paralyzed with a chakra rod, like he did to fukasaku who is a SAGE toad.
Ok so she pushed Pain back and outdid him in Taijutsu so what does that mean? Well a lot but before we go into that let’s remember on how Tendo/deva path works
Tumblr media
Hinata faced Tendo when all of the other paths were DEAD then we can state that Hinata was fighting Pain at his absolute strongest, his feats reflect that too. When all the paths are alive Nagato divides his chakra evenly meaning that Tendo is at his weakest when this happens. So what did Tendo at his weakest accomplish taijutsu wise? He was easily capable of hitting Kakashi and dodge his attacks which means that at his absolute weakest Tendo was already relative to Kakashi in speed.
Hinata faced Tendo when all of the other paths were dead then we can objectively state that Hinata was fighting Pain at his absolute strongest, his feats reflect that too.
Tumblr media
Not only was Nagato focusing all his chakra on all the paths when Kakashi fought Tendo but 4 of the 6 paths where also busy somewhere else wasting even more chakra. Ever noticed that the second the Asura path was pretty much out of commission Tendo proceeded to oneshot Kakashi, Choza and Choji? Summarizing, this fight wasn’t Kakashi vs Pain, it was Kakashi and whole hidden leaf(in the background) vs Pain. Despite all of that Tendo was still relative to Kakashi in speed and taijutsu.
On to Jiraiya, this fight we saw multiple paths block punches of Sage Jiraiya. The human path was capable of blocking Sage punches without even trying, he didn’t get pushed back or anything he just absorbed all that energy like nothing. Later on we see the deva path do the same thing.
Tumblr media
Tendo during his fight with Naruto was capable of pushing Base Naruto back whilst he was at his absolute weakest and despite that he was still capable of reacting and defending himself against a Sage mode kick which should be at the bare minimum 10 times stronger if we use natural energy multipliers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Already know that base Naruto is faster than other memebers of T7 giving Naruto showed against omoi and Karui where Naruto pretty much carried the fight despite being on the defensive. Hinata's feats are faster and better in Taijutsu than base Naruto, Kakashi and even Sage Mode Jiraiya without even using her Twin lion fist jutsu. She fought the strongest version of (Pain) Tendo and was actually capable of pushing him back unlike these characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point you might start understanding why it’s an outlier for her character but I'M NOT DONE YET.
Now, Hinata’s durability which might as well be a bigger feat than her speed and Taijutsu. I already explained how much stronger the Tendo that fought Hinata was, this can clearly be shown with his feats. When Tendo was in one of his weakest stages Kakashi was tanking point blank shinrai tenseis left and right. When Nagato had to focus on only 1 or 2 paths Tendo became this strong
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
30 seconds Tendo singlehandedly oneshotted 3 boss toads, one of them capable of going blow for blow with Shukaku (one tail) and wrestle a little bit with Kurama and he oneshotted 2 sage toads one of them with a single paralyzing rod. Fugasaku being capable of trading blows and keeping up with SM naruto.
Tumblr media
Hinata was capable of not only tanking Pain's shinrai tensei that was capable of oneshotting boss toads but she was also capable of tanking Pain's direct hit with his paralyzing rod that oneshotted Fukasaku.
But she would’ve died! Nope, she was somehow fine! It would be way too OCC for Pain to spare her by holding back so don’t even bother using that argument.
Tumblr media
There you have it, by feats Hinata has better speed and taijutsu feats than base Naruto, Kakashi and SM Jiraiya and she has superior durability to Gamabunta and fukasaku.
outlier for her, if you want my opinion I’d say that she was faster and stronger than base Naruto when she confronted Pain.
Being faster and stronger than base Naruto at this point in the story is still pretty good giving that he was able to react and defend himself against the same weakened Tendo that Kakashi fought and a weaker version of Naruto could also tag mid-tier akatsuki members such as Kakuzu.
Problem Hinata goes against OP or God-level characters. Like alot of Naruto characters they really don't get their shine and solo fights and arcs. Just focused on Naruto and Sasuke rivarly and the Uchiha clan.
I'll add more if I reread her parts again.
