🌟 🌟 Book Review 🌟 🌟 Few can create or rather recreate a world and characters and blur the gap between reality and fiction like Taylor Jenkins Reid. Let’s be honest, most of us who have read Evelyn Hugo or Daisy Jones have googled whether any of it was real- such is the narrative skill of TJR. However The author is famous for her curveballs- The Seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo was never about the husbands- Daisy Jones was never about the rock ‘n roll group-this one is not about stars and glitters of Malibu- at it’s core, it’s a simple story of siblings united by the hate for their father, values imbibed in them by their mother and surfing. So, inspite of the tremendous effort by the author to give each of the characters a backstory, it’s the sibling story I was interested in- from step brothers falling for the same girl to coming out and realisation of sexual preferences- a lot does happen in their lives during this journey- but it was a fun ride.
