What is your favorite Chaos card in the Tarot?
That would be the Tower——
In the Rider-Waite deck the building resembles the Tower of Babel, with lightening striking a structure built too high, as it crumbles back to the ground. It is a card about sudden change, cleansing fires, old-school revelations. Two figures are seen twisting in the air; whether they jumped to save themselves or were thrown as their world crumbled around them is immaterial. They will not survive the fall. After 9/11 I couldn’t use this card for a long while, the images of people falling from the Twin Towers was too much of a trigger. Yet, one does not need a literal structure to represent Chaos; for me, the Hurricane will do just as well.
The Taino, an ancient indigenous people of the Caribbean, named their supreme goddess, associated with all natural destructive forces, Guabancex. She remains the embodiment of the Hurricane, that unescapable, divine power that can level villages and whole islands with ease. Petroglyphs depict her with mouth agape, her arms curved in the same swirling pattern that the storm itself takes.
Tumblr media
When the Tower card appears in your Tarot reading, expect the unexpected: violent change, catastrophe and anarchy. Change, as they say, is painful; but it is a necessary pain in order to grow. Guabancex represents the elements in your life that you cannot control: illnesses, accidents, financial failure, the ending of relationships. In her book of poems about Hurricane Maria’s 2017 destruction of the island of Dominicia, Celia A. Sorhaindo writes about the relief that her family felt in surviving the storm and then the horror of realizing that everything that they had, everything the island had, was gone. In the poem, “In The Air,” she writes:
After the hurricane, my grandmother, who in her basement storeroom, had hunkered down and knelt her knees raw with prayer the whole long long lashing tail of night, ascended slippery stairs hoping by holy intervention her home had been saved. She stared from ruined room to room, swaying like a punched drunk spirit, mouth and eyes wide black holes of disbelief …
This is the lesson the Tower reminds us about: we like to imagine we have control over our fate but that is an illusion. The real question is what will be your response when the gods decide to knock you to the ground?

We have in our ship the most luxurious places where you can get a relax while having a travel.
TOP THREE DESTINATIONS OF ODIE'S CRUISE SHIP:
1. BAHAMAS Soak up island views and aquatic adventures in the Bahamas.
Tumblr media
A respite for sun and sand seekers, the Bahamas is home to light blue beaches, translucent underwater caves, a rich royal heritage and exclusive private isles. These can all be found throughout a beautifully scattered string of 700 islands (most of which are uninhabited). Cruise to the Bahamas to take a dive and witness a majestic coral garden at Orange Bowl reef, hang out at ultra-luxurious resorts like Atlantis and shop for resort fashion in Paradise Island or Nassau. The Bahamas has an island for every taste and style, and it's easy to enjoy its subtropical charm during an overnight stint or a week-long cruise.
FOR THE FOODIES
ISLAND TWIST AND TANG There's a lot of similarity between the soul food of the southern US, and Bahamian cuisine, that blends the Caribbean tang with its very own spice, creating a trademark flavour unique to the region.
1. Conch fritters in the Bahamas FRUITS OF THE SEA
Tumblr media
Little-known as a culinary ingredient in the continental US, conch is a large mollusk (akin to clams) with a meaty texture. Locals use it to prepare conch salad, conch fritters, conch chowder and more.
2. PUERTO RICO Take in the tropical flavour and lively energy of Puerto Rico, where island discoveries and delicious delicacies are just around the corner.
Tumblr media
Puerto Rico is a diverse and geographically stunning island with aquamarine mangrove waters, baby-blue beaches and emerald-green jungles – and that's just the coast. Go inland for the Alps-lookalike peaks of Cerro de Punta, the lime green Lajas Valley, acres of plantain and banana groves and some of the best roasted pork (pernil) in the world. Cruise to Puerto Rico and take to the roads that lead to remote Spanish colonial towns like San German that house elegant plazas and churches evoking hundreds of years of history. Head to the main old town, the always-vivid Old San Juan, and walk the cobblestoned streets where Conquistadors once marched.
FOR THE FOODIES DIVERSE DELICACIES Puerto Rico's cuisine is a blend of Taino, African and Spanish influences, with a dose of contemporary inventions, too. Add to this diverse combination of flavours, a strong and fragrant cup of coffee and a shot of island rum, and you have the essence of what Puerto Rican food is all about. 1. RICE IS NICE
Tumblr media
One staple of Puerto Rican cuisine is rice and beans, made separately or together depending on preference. Many like the beans cooked on their own as a thick, savoury sauce to pour over steaming white rice.
3. Bermuda
Discover a history-filled paradise full of pink sand beaches in Bermuda.
Tumblr media
Set sail from the East Coast of the United States and travel through the Atlantic seas to an island oasis in Bermuda. Explore British colonial landmarks like the Royal Navy Dockyard. Take a dip in the blue waves at Horseshoe Bay Beach. Cruise to Bermuda and wander through the vibrantly painted streets of St George's and Hamilton, and see the Gothic-style towers of the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity. Need to scratch your itch for outdoor adventure? Hike the Railway Trail and take in views of the clear-water coast, or snorkel among shipwrecks and coral reefs at Tobacco Bay.
FOR THE FOODIES BERMUDAN BOUNTY Bermuda's cuisine reflects its diverse cultural history. From traditional fish stews to island takes on the classic English fish and chips, the bounty of the ocean is what brings together this culinary tapestry.
1. Traditional Fish Croquettes in Bermuda I'LL TAKE IT FRIED
Tumblr media
The tastes of that signature fish chowder take on new life in the form of a fish croquette, a fried, ball-shaped fritter that incorporates white fish and spices. Head to the restaurant Marcus' for a fish chowder bite made with snapper, scallops, chorizo and spices fried to crispy golden-brown fritter that has the perfect amount of bite to it.
COME AND ENJOY MY CRUISE SHIP!!! IT FEELS LIKE HOME

Inktober 31st Robbie and Mera! Mera (short for Chimera) was our three legged fox mascot character. A good friend from earth. Robbie was a plant monster in the castle gardens on Lintina that Erica befriended. Best plant boy.
Did this without any of my tools using a friends copics (shit this is why people use copics) fairly last minute but I did it! Third full inktober in a row! I think I learned some stuff and if nothing else, I made.
Characters from Waewardens who did not make the Inktober cut: Commander Vandalla Syn, mother of the twins and weapon mom to all. Taino Apollan, head of security for Lintina (did we ever speak with him?). Saint Farrow, priest of... whatever religion system is on Lintina that we sortof totally skimmed over. Lord Kel, because I already have some digital art of them and the other big guys were lacking.  Also there was that one old lady in a tower. A parrot. Shop keepers. Misc. npcs. But yeah most of the cast is here.

Getting To Know The Rainforests Of Puerto Rico
Tumblr media
From beautiful Atlantic sea creatures to culturally diverse cities, Puerto Rico has more than its fair share of landscapes. Whether you’re staying at hotels here for a Villa Montana Puerto Rico wedding or for business, it’s always worth taking a day out to soak in the unique surroundings of this beautiful Caribbean island. One such landmark that sees Puerto Rico rise above other US tourist attractions is its magical rainforest.
Puerto Rico is home to the only rainforest in the United States National Forest System and as such, it’s well worth a visit. Whilst many aspects of Puerto Rico offer a tropical, exciting antidote to mainland USA, the rainforest is the most prominent. Guests at hotels such as the Montana Resort can book tours for the El Yunque National Rainforest from the comfort of their hotel room, and as it's situated to the east of the island, it’s easy to travel to one of its many hiking trails and landmarks by car and by bus.
This blog will outline some of the standout features of El Yunque National Rainforest, and how guests at the Villa Montana Beach Resort and other hotels can capitalise on the beautiful scenery there.
What Is The El Yunque National Rainforest?
Spanning nearly 44 square miles, the El Yunque Rainforest is situated on the rolling slopes of the Sierra de Luquillo mountains, visible from the eastern shores of Puerto Rico. With its high peaks reaching 1065 metres, it’s unsurprising that the ancient Taino indigenous people of Puerto Rico believed that the forest was the throne of the chief god Yucahu.
Animals Of El Yunque
Thanks to luscious forests and fertile land, the forest of El Yunque has amassed an amazing ecosystem. Animals you may encounter during a visit to the El Yunque Forest include the Puerto Rican parrot, the native coqui frog, of which there are 16 species. Other animals include a variety of hawks and the Puerto Rican boa snake.
Hiking Trails Of El Yunque
Alongside climbing its largest peak of El Toro via the 4.9 mile El Toro wilderness trail, visitors can book tours or hike through and around a great range of waterfalls and natural pools. These include La Cocoa, a waterfall close to Road 191, which runs for 1.8 miles through the Tabonuco forest. Other trails include the El Angelito Trail, which takes about 20 minutes from Road 988 and ends at a pool formed from the Mameyes River, perfect for families with kids visiting from nearby Puerto Rico beach resorts.
Landmarks Of El Yunque
Alongside the wilderness trails, there are a great many landmarks to enjoy in the El Yunque Forest.
Yokahú Observation Tower
Towering high at 1575 feet, the Yokahu Observation Tower is one of two towers that were built during the early 60s’, giving hikers and travellers the chance to see breathtaking views over the forest and coasts of Puerto Rico’s eastern areas.
Catarata La Coca
Situated just off of Road 191, La Coca Falls is an 85 foot waterfall alongside rock formations and pools, making it a great landmark for photos and hiking.
El Portal Visitors Center
The visitors center in El Yunque Forest is situated on Road 191 and has been open since 1996, providing information and exhibitions surrounding the forest’s inhabitants and ecosystems. Unfortunately, Hurrican Irma and Maria led to repairs having to be undertaken on the center, which should hopefully be reopening in 2022.

Taino (Lombardy). Santo Stefano (1874) and aedicule of Sant'Eurosia (XVIII sec, tpq). Let's go back to Santo Stefano di Taino, of which we saw the bell tower in the margin of the post of last August 26th. The nineteenth-century temple is built on demolition of the eleventh century. In addition to the bell tower, the pointed portal with a mosaic of the proto-martyr and the neo-Gothic-style stained glass windows in the apse remain interesting. In the small town I also point out the hexagonal aedicule of Sant'Eurosia (a young Spanish girl from Yebra de Basa, Pyrenees, who lived in the 9th century, martyred by the moors), from before eighteenth century with frescoes inside. #inside #style #august #young #letsgo #post #taino #lombardia #edicola #temple #demolition #portal #mosaic #stainedglass #interesting #spanish #pyrenees #before #travel #traveling #visiting #instatravel #travelling #tourism #instatraveling #travelgram #travelingram #massimopistis #sovVERSIvi #estremisti Information for the purchase of my new book "Estremisti!": the book at a cost of 12.00 euros (120 pages), can be ordered in bookstores (ISBN 978-88-591-5719-9 - Publisher Aletti) or online on the page http://www.alettieditore.it/emersi/2019/pistis.html from the link below. https://www.instagram.com/p/CTvBBftIfHv/?utm_medium=tumblr
