What I Want
I keep seeing people in the Loki tags saying they don't understand what the show is about, or what it's trying to say. It seems to me the show is about the conflict between free will and determinism.
Tumblr media
[Above: Our hero (right)]
Up until episode 1 of Loki, the title character has been a sterling example of free will. Loki is, to a fault, Mister "I do what I want, Thor!" Then the TVA arrest him and say "no, you do this, and only this, because history says so." He can't defy the TVA's power, so he starts looking for ways to seize that power. Because to Loki, free will depends on sitting on a bigger throne than everybody else.
Loki meets Sylvie and is confused/fascinated whenever her anti-authoritarian agenda doesn't align with his Machiavellian agenda. He's committed to protecting his own free will, and controlling the TVA can accomplish that. But she prefers to abolish the TVA, which would effectively ensure free will for everyone. So Loki's agenda begins to change: He wants what's best for Sylvie, but he doesn't entirely trust her to choose what's in her own best interests (much as his family couldn't entirely trust his free will).
Meanwhile, He Who Remains is the embodiment of determinism and authority, refusing to trust anyone's choices that don't conform to his grand design. Loki can't usurp that design without conforming to it, which defeats the purpose. Sylvie can't burn it all down without activating a contingency plan that empowers HWR's past self...and she can't kill Victor Timely without tacitly endorsing determinism. The central conflict, then, is literally the problem of free will. Loki and Sylvie can't make any meaningful choices because He Who Remains has rigged every possible outcome.
As of episode 9, Loki needs to bring Victor Timely to the TVA, which is almost certainly what He Who Remains wanted to happen. Loki doesn't want to dance to his enemy's tune, but he hasn't found a way to change the music yet. Sylvie represents an alternative, but Loki thinks it's too extreme and impractical. So he keeps talking about protecting all of existence from a potential threat, and he hasn't noticed he sounds more and more like the guy he's afraid of.
In short: Loki, of all people, is turning into a cop. Worse, he's being tricked into turning into a cop, by the Chief of the Don't Let Loki Do What He Wants Police. If Loki can't figure that out in time, he's going to lose. Is Loki destined to always be a loser, or can he find a new angle to do what he wants, Thor? That's the question at the heart of this series.

By order of the fookin’ PEAKY BLINDERS, it is done. It has been announced that the currently filming sixth season will be the series’ last.
Yep. No more staring into the tormented crystal blue eyes of Tommy Shelby.
Tumblr media
With the announcement of PEAKY BLINDERS’ cancellation comes the realisation that it is the second job Finn Cole has lost in a week.
The only worthwhile thing Michael Gray has done is the French inhale.
Tumblr media
On Thursday, TNT announced that the upcoming sixth season of ANIMAL KINGDOM will be its final season.
Tumblr media
Finn can be currently seen in the film DREAMLAND with Margot Robbie, and will next be seen in HERE ARE THE YOUNG MEN, directed by actor Eoin Macken (The Night Shift, Merlin).
Tumblr media
The film also stars Dean Charles Chapman (1917), Ferdia Walsh-Peelo (Vikings, Sing Street) and Finn’s PEAKY BLINDERS wife Anya Taylor Joy.
Tumblr media
Speaking of Anya Taylor Joy, she is amongst the actors nominated for a Critics Choice Award.   Anya was nominated in the category of Lead Actress in a Limited Series/Made for TV Movie for Netflix’s THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT.
Tumblr media
Her competition in that category is: Shira Haas (Unorthodox), Cate Blanchett (Mrs. America), Michaela Coel ( I May Destroy You), Daisy Edgar Jones (Normal People, Tessa Thompson (Sylvie’s Love).
The surprises to me are Nicholas Hoult being nominated in Lead Actor for a Comedy Series
Tumblr media
amongst Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso),
S2 currently filming
Tumblr media
Matt Berry (What We Do in the Shadow), Eugene Levy (Schitt’s Creek), Hank Azaria (Brockmire) and Ramy Youseff (Ramy);  surprised by no nomination for Elle Fanning in THE GREAT, no nomination for Ben Whishaw, Timothy Olyphant, Jack Huston or any of the female actors who gave extraordinary performances this season of FARGO (congrats to Chris Rock and Glynn Turman for their nods); no Ethan Hawke nomination for his performance in THE GOOD LORD BIRD (though his two costars received nods); Quibi dominated the short form category but no nomination for THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME which garnered Christoph Waltz an Emmy nomination or #FreeRayshawn whose two leads Laurence Fishburne and Jasmine Cephas-Jones won Emmys; the nomination for Betsy Brandt in the superb finale of SOULMATES. I did not see that coming.
The other Critics Choice nominees.

Ok, I have 5 replies and 2 inbox starters to work on BUT... My brain is just vibrating because I’m going to see Black Widow in 2 1/2 hours so like this for a plot call. Plot call being that I message you and we chat about what we wanna do. This is for people I have NEVER rped with before. Or characters I’ve never played with before because I know I’ve following new muses of muns I’m familiar with.
But I know there’s a ton of Loki and Mobius muses on here now and some other fun new people added to my followers so come at me!
And also people who have been following me a while but have never rped with me, come on! Let’s figure this out! No matter who you play, I’m sure we can come up with something.
Fair warning to the Lokis... Sterling is still  very hostile toward him. Sylvie would probably be fine since he won’t recognize her. But Loki? He will probably draw a weapon on sight. lol Please do not let that discourage you. We can figure something out. I promise.
