A/N: This is such a sweet idea!!!! I love big bro Peter & there's gonna be a lot more of him coming in the future I think 💕 Also nobody yell at me but I haven't actually watched Hawkeye & I don't know anything about Kate imsosorry enjoy!! 💕
Joining the Rogers-Barnes family as their precious and littlest baby was the greatest thing that happened to everyone involved, but nobody took on a greater pride than your big bubba Peter. Steve and Bucky had been worried at first that he wouldn’t take it well, no longer being an only child and the absolute center of their attention. To their surprised delight, however, Peter took on his new older sibling responsibilities with a soldier’s pride.
Any time you were out on an errand or playing in the park, Peter took it upon himself to keep a watchful eye on you, even though your daddies were more than capable. Whenever you weren’t in your daddies’ arms, you were holding Peter’s hand. At the playground, he’d go down the slide first to make sure it wasn’t too fast, and then wait at the bottom to catch you as you followed. When you ordered food in a restaurant, Peter always took the first bite to make sure it was safe. Well, maybe that one wasn’t as much about protection as it was getting an extra bite, but still. At parties and playdates it was a little easier for him to get distracted, but he always made sure you were within earshot.
That’s how you found yourself now, in one of the common rooms of the sprawling Avengers compound, stacking blocks into a castle while Peter half paid attention to Wanda’s game of pretend on the other side of the room, his focus divided between her and you. Steve was standing around the snack table talking to Bruce and Tony, while Bucky and Sam cracked open a couple of beers on the balcony. It wasn’t a party so much as a lively get-together, team members and family only.
It also happened to be Kate’s first party with the gang. Kate had been kind to you the few times you had met her, engaged with you in your pretend games and played hide and seek around the compound with you and your friends, but you didn’t trust her all the way yet. She was new here, she didn’t know that the only ones you allowed to carry you were your daddies. When Tony announced that dinner was ready, she was the closest to you, so she picked you up to carry you into the dining room with everyone. She meant well, she handled you gently, but that meant nothing to you at this moment.
Peter’s spidey senses noticed it first, the sharp intake of your breath as you started to wail. Poor Kate didn’t realize what was happening as everything unfolded. A sticky web splatted into the back of her shirt as Peter ran over to the two of you.
“No! You put baby down!!” He shouted, smacking the side of Kate’s arm like a cat batting a toy; not enough to hurt her.
Kate let go of you as you flung yourself into Peter’s arms, now sobbing from both the fright of being picked up by a new person and the commotion that had followed it. Peter barely had time to comfort you when a strong voice rang out over the noise.
“Hey!” Steve shouted, not needing to say anything else to get everyone in the room silent and staring at him. Even you had stopped crying when you saw your daddy enter the room. Peter immediately spoke out in your defense.
“She was scaring baby!” He cried out, pointing an accusatory finger at Kate.
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t! I was just bringing her to dinner!” Kate defended herself, desperately hoping the super soldier would understand. It wasn’t Steve she was worried about, though; Bucky was glaring at her with ice cold eyes.
Steve placed a calming hand on his husband’s shoulder, calming him instantly.
“Alright, everybody calm down,” Steve said, his face softening as he turned to meet your eyes. “Are you hurt, babydoll?”
You shook your head, reaching out for your daddy’s arms.
“I promise,” Kate said, “all I did was pick her up!” “I believe you.” Steve nodded. “She just doesn’t like getting picked up by anybody but her family. It's okay, you didn’t know yet.” Kate smiled, grateful for the forgiveness. Your tears had dried, your breathing had calmed, and your tummy had started to rumble. Steve gave you a kiss on the head, and with the chaos settled, everyone began to shuffle off to the dining room. Peter mingled in amongst them until he felt a cold hand on the back of his shirt.
“Uh uh, not so fast kiddo,” Bucky warned, pulling the youngster aside. “I saw you hit Kate. That’s not nice and you know it.”
Peter looked down at his sneakers. “I’m sorry Baba,” he said dejectedly.
“Don’t apologize to me, apologize to Kate. Bucky let Peter go, following him into the kitchen before adding: “and no dessert tonight!”

clingy Baba

wc: ~600 words
warnings: lots of touch! Baba may have a little 🤏 problem but he’s not going to do anything about it🤭
a/n: this is inspired by the piece Attached at the Hip by @angelbaby-fics ! please go read it and support the incredible writer, Chloe! (love you Chloe☺️ mwah mwah)
pairing: stucky x gn!little!reader(mostly bucky hehe) Dada = Steve, Baba = Bucky
summary: a couple times where your baba’s clinginess got the best of him
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆
Both of your daddies loved cuddling and kissing you at every chance. Steve exercised some restraint. He wouldn’t disturb you if you were totally focused on something and often looked for you to initiate some sort of touch. Bucky, on the other hand, did not hold back. Ever.
~
Baba often interrupted you while you were coloring. Sometimes it’d be okay and you would return his kiss or be so distracted that you didn’t even notice. Other times..
*kiss*
“Baba! I was colorin’ dat”
“Oh, sorry baby!” He kissed you a few more times on the cheek as an apology. “Baba’s sorry I messed up your coloring.”
“Hmph. Da lines are all messed up.” You crossed your arms and frowned at him.
Bucky wouldn’t crack under the pressure of the best interrogators in shield, but he melted at one scornful look from you.
“What can Baba do, huh?” He sat on the floor and enveloped you in his arms. Another kiss to your head. “How can we make this little baby happy again?”
As much as Bucky was soothed from your touch, you were soothed from his too.
“It’s okay, Baba. Know it was a accident.” You pressed a kiss to his jaw.
Bucky whooped and jumped up with you still in his arms. “I’m forgiven!” He continued cheering and tossing you in the air and catching you.
You laughed gleefully. Steve, who was watching you before Bucky came in, smiled and shook his head at his two silly loves.
Bucky saw the movement from the corner of his eye. He caught you in his arms one more time.
“Uh oh, looks like Dada’s missin’ out.” He whispered. “Are you thinkin’ what I’m thinkin’?”
You nodded before shouting, “Kiss attaaack!”
~
Steve had just put you down for a nap. He cuddled you to your heart’s content and carefully snuck out of bed when you were fully asleep. As much as he’d love to nap with you, he had some chores to do and he knew it’d be good for you to become an independent sleeper.
About twenty minutes later, he went to check on you and started to worry when he saw your door cracked open. Steve always shut the door for your naps to keep out the noise. He set down the broom and ran to your door only to find Bucky removing you from your blanket cocoon. It took your Dada at least five minutes to perfect that cocoon.
Bucky hummed while he situated you in his arms.
“Hmm, hmm someday I’ll wish upon a star, and wake up where the clouds are far behind me.”
“Buck. They’re sleeping.”
Baba had the nerve to look offended at Steve’s presence. He covered one of your ears with his free hand.
“I know that, keep your voice down.”
“Why are you singing a lullaby?”
“They love Over the Rainbow, it helps them sleep.”
“Okay but they didn’t need help sleeping if they were already asleep, right?”
Bucky narrowed his eyes and turned around, continuing to sing softly and sway with you in his arms.
While he wanted to stay true to his caregiver instincts, Steve had to admit that it looked pretty cozy getting to hold you like that. He joined Bucky’s humming and wrapped his arms around his lover’s waist as they both rocked side to side with you.
Still fully asleep, a small smile appeared on your face. Even while unconscious, you knew that you were safe and so loved.

Thunderstorms
Summary: thunderstorms in the middle of the night are scary.
Warnings: fluff, reader cries, very very brief mention of punishment, reader being scared, bucky being the most comforting daddy ever
Word count: 1232
Notes: Bucky=daddy Steve=dada
written on my phone
********************
"Why can't I sleep with you and daddy?" You stare up at Steve as he tucks you in. "Because daddy and I don't want to wake you up early when we get up." Steve kissed your forehead. "Do you want a story?" You nodded. "Wan daddy to read." You point to where Steve isn't sitting. "I'll go get him then." Steve chucked before getting up to go find Bucky. Bucky had just gotten out of the shower when she found him. "The princess wants you to read her a story before she goes to bed." Bucky smiled as he grabs his boxers. "Tell her I'll be there in a minute." Steve nodded and went back to you.
When he got to your room, you weren't in bed. Steve sighed and went to your usual hiding spot in your closet to find it empty. "Sweetheart, it's bedtime. Not play time." Steve heard a rustle from your play tent and smirked. "I guess my baby left and now I have no one to cuddle." You instantly got out and ran to Steve. "No! No! I right here!" You didn't want your dada cuddling anybody else but you or daddy. Steve picked you up and took you back to your bed. "Dada?" You spoke quietly. "Yes, angel?" Steve looked down at you. "Will you lay with me." Steve smiled and laid beside you, pulling you close. "Cuddling without me?" Bucky came in with a bottle and sat beside you on the bed.
You quickly curled into his arms so he could feed you the bottle. "There ya go, sweet girl. Just needed daddy." You look up into his eyes to find him staring down at you. "You still want that story, pretty baby?" You nodded as best as you could with the bottle in your mouth. "Alright, what are we doing tonight?" He sat the empty bottle on your nightstand. "Wuv you to moon n back!" Bucky chuckled and grabbed the book while Steve snuggled into your other side.
He sat your between the two of them with your stuffed dinosaur, Franklin, as Bucky started to read. "I love our time together as we start each happy day. I love our bath time silliness, the way we splash and play," You felt your eyes grow heavy as you cuddle into Bucky's side. Steve noticed you started to suck the tip of your thumb so he reached over and grabbed your paci, slipping it between your lips. "We'll climb the highest mountaintops, hold tight and you won't fall." You didn't hear much after that.
"I love you to the moon and stars, my precious little one." Bucky smiled down at you. He gently pulled the duvet over you before kissing your forehead. "Good night, doll. I love you." Bucky stepped back so Steve could say good night as well. "Good night, babygirl. I love you. Sleep tight." Steve kissed your cheek. They turned on your nightlight and gently closed your door. They stayed up for a little while, mostly cleaning up before they went to bed themselves. "Night, punk." "Night, jerk." They shared a small kiss before falling asleep.
********************
You jolted awake after hearing a loud bang come from outside. You ran over to your window to see what it was. You couldn't see much from how hard it was raining but you did see a bright flash before hearing another bang.
You yelp and run back to your bed and hide under the covers. You have always hated thunderstorms. They are too loud. You peek out to look at the clock.
2:56 AM in big red letters
The red means you can't leave your room because it's to early. You clutch Franklin to your chest and try to calm down. You glance at the clock again, still seeing the red numbers. Should you risk punishment to go get your daddies? A loud clap of thunder made you sum up your decision. You got out of bed, grabbed Franklin and your paci, and carefully opened your door. The hallway was dark, which only scared you more. You hurry to your daddies bedroom, quietly twisting the door knob. You saw them both fast asleep. You tiptoe to the edge of their bed, only to be stopped by Bucky's voice. "What are you doing up, princess?"
"Got scared daddy." You walk around to his side of the bed. "C'mon, back to bed." He picks you up and starts walking you back to your room. He lays you down in your bed and kissed your forehead. "Get some sleep, sweets." He whispers. "But daddy I-" He shushes you. "Go back to sleep, honey. It's to early." He tucks you in and leaves. You close your eyes and try to sleep but the thunder just gets louder. You start to cry. You get up again and go to get Bucky. "Honey, I told you to go back to bed."
"But daddy-" he cuts you off again. "No, baby, it's to early. Go back to bed, now." You were about to argue more when the thunder started again, making you cry more. Bucky stood up and walked over to you. He gently picked you up and walked out of his room. "Shhh, it's okay. It's just thunder, princess. It's okay." He started walk you around the hall, trying to let Steve sleep. "How about a bottle?" You nodded.
He walked downstairs and started to fix your bottle. The thunder sounded closer this time, making you start to shake. "You're okay, honey. Daddy's right here." Bucky started to rock you while your milk was heating up. "'S scary, daddy." You whimper. "I know it is, doll, but its just thunder. It can't hurt you." Bucky placed the lid on your bottle and went to sit on the couch. "Like Thor?" Bucky nodded. "Exactly like Thor. He's just making sure you know he's watch over you from Asgard." You gasped.
You had never thought of that before. Thor was one of your favorite of your daddies' friends. He was the most fun. One time he took you to the water park and you got to skip all the lines!
"'S just Thor?" Bucky nodded while slipping the tip of the bottle between your lips. "It's just Thor. There's nothing to be scared of." Your eyes started to feel heavy again. The sounds of thunder now somewhat comforting. The rain against the roof singing a pleasant lullaby, lulling you into a peaceful sleep. Bucky took the bottle away and replaced it with a paci that they kept on the side table, just in case. He stood up and carried you upstairs. He was going to put you in your bed, but you looked so comfortable against his chest that he just took you back to his room. He laid you in the center of the bed and got in beside you.
He got settle by your side and reached over to hold onto Steve's hand. "Everything okay?" Steve whispered. Bucky looked at the two of you with a bright smile. "Everything is perfect." Steve nodded and went back to sleep.
"Perfect."

Vroom, vroom!
dni: k!nk, anti-agere, agepl4y, or ddlg-esque blogs 🍄 this blog is a safe space for age regressors and age dreamers 🍄
Tumblr media
Word Count: 635
Summary: Steve drives you around to help you sleep
Pairing: Dada!Steve x Daddy!Bucky x Regressor!Reader
Characters: Bucky Barnes, Steve Rogers, Reader
Content Warnings: Usage of daddy and dada, riding in a car, getting carried/picked up, that's it :)
Authors Note: Look at me actually writing stuff!! More on the way 🐈 You can find more of my stuff in my pinned post and request more stories through the ask box.
Despite all your insomniac nights, taking a cat nap in the backseat of Stevie's car was surprisingly peaceful.
bump! bump!
The crevices and rocky ground of Dada's favorite road warmed you and cooed the pangs and aches in your body. The dips were like being rocked by mother nature.
'thank you mama tree'
crunch! crunch!
Ah, that's the sound of your anxieties melting away. Really it's the gravel getting all crunched up but you know... same difference.
Your Dada was in love with these backroads. Tomorrow while you down some fruity pebbles, you'll tell him again that they really should get married. They see each other all the time! It made trips take longer but that just meant more time with Stevie.
bop! bop!
The tapping of your head against the window was actually quite gentle. Sometimes it hurts and that's when you whine to Stevie that "ow it hurt dada whyyy!!?" and to get you to stop, he'd get your favorite fast food (it was the plan all along and Stevie most definitely knew-). This time, Dada was driving super, duper slow so the bumps didn't hurt. They soothed you instead and made you very, very sleepy.
Your legs were tucked close to yourself. You laid curled up like a cat in the cold winter. In better days, you'd find your position annoyingly uncomfortable but you were so eepies- I mean sleepy.
It was kind of like leaves falling from the really tall trees in the rainforest. Sleep didn't come fast but crept up on you.
You enjoyed watching the view go by the window and the mental image of a little superhero doing parkour, racing with Dada's pickup truck. The trees had all sorts of colors and some animals hop, hopped, and peeked out from the bushes.
Everything eventually becomes grey, then black. But you don't mind. It's so calming, this rest your eyelids have found.
'Oh, they closed? Ooooh that's why the superguy disappeared.'

"Welcome back, Steve-O." Bucky stood at the door frame, hands resting in his jacket pockets.
Steve placed his pointer finger on his lips and tilted his head, indicating that you were asleep.
Bucky firmly nodded and held a gentle smile. 'You're finally asleep! Aww, you deserve it, little dear.'
Your dada traded places with Bucky, leaving to go get himself ready for bed.
Daddy peeked through the windows, and then he found you, with your little head against the car door. He walked around to the door opposite of you, and moved very carefully as to not wake you.
Snores filled the air and Bucky had to hold back a giggle. He thought it was so freaking cute, don't worry!
"Come here, little one." He whispered and securely held you up against his chest. Warm and snug.
Your daddy walked into your bedroom, where Steve had been waiting and prepared your bed for you.
"Here you are, darling." Daddy laid you down.
Buck and Stevie kissed the top of your head and tucked you in.
"Goodnight, our sunflower."

"Papa, I don't wanna watch football," you pouted as Steve pulled a Giants jersey over your head.
He cupped your chin, "Can I tell you a secret?" You gave a solemn nod and he cracked a half smile, brushing his thumb over the line of your jaw, "I don't really care about football either. But it makes Daddy happy and helps him get along with Uncle Tony. Do you think you can help me?"
"Can I take my game with me?"
Steve pressed his mouth into a thin line; he should have expected that. "Yes." Your face split into a grin, but Steve held up a finger, "But we're staying until the end of the game. And if I hear any complaining-"
You shook your head, "I won't."
He tapped your nose, "Good girl. Now let's get going." He hoisted you up on his hip, grabbing your backpack with his other hand.
You leaned out to watch him scoop it up, a curious look on your face. Steve chuckled, "What is it, sweetheart?"
Your cheeks warmed, "Daddy is strong." You never got tired of how easily he carried you around.
He squeezed your leg, "You like it when I carry you around?" You buried your face in his shoulder in lieu of answering. He pressed a kiss into the top of your head, "Good thing I like carrying my baby around too."
You smiled, still feeling shy as Bucky came into view, leaning against the couch. "Look at my girl," he grinned, pushing off and striding toward you.
As Bucky reached for you, Steve spun you away, clearing his throat and puffing out his chest. Bucky grinned, changing course to cup the back of Steve's neck, "And my guy, of course."
Steve rolled his eyes, "Sure thing, Buck."
Bucky pulled him in for a kiss anyway. "Now c'mere, you," Bucky held his arms out and Steve handed you over. "Are you ready, doll?"
"Did you get my game, Papa?"
"Got it," Steve held it up before he zipped it up inside the backpack.
The three of you headed to the rec room, which Steve had promised would have fun things to do.
You could smell the rec room before Bucky even opened the door; the scent of pizza and chicken wings wafted out. The sound of chatter followed, growing exponentially louder as Bucky opened the door.
Inside, Peter and Wanda were making a racket at the foosball table. Tony, Thor, Loki, Nat and Bruce were seated at the ring of sofas that centered around the enormous television. To your surprise, there was another adult present, seated on the opposite end of Tony's sofa. It was your new friend from the office, Stephen Strange. You offered a shy wave, your comfort around him having dwindled since your last meeting.
"Thought you guys were gonna miss kickoff," Tony noted.
"It took a little bit of convincing to get everybody here," Bucky grimaced, setting you down.
Bruce held out an arm for a hug and you climbed onto the sofa next to him, tucking underneath and into his side, "Hi Bruce."
"Hey kiddo, how's it going?" You shrugged. "That bad, huh?"
"I don't like football."
"Why not?"
"Too much yelling."
He grimaced, "People get excited, huh?" You nodded. "What if you got excited too? Would it be okay then?"
You shrugged again, "Maybe."
"Why not give it a try? You might like it."
You stayed quiet; you didn't know if you wanted to like it.
Loki caught your eye from the sofa across from you, drawing a chuckle from Bruce, "Go on."
You hopped across the aisle to climb up next to Loki, "Do you like football?"
He shrugged, "Would be better with weapons."
You glanced at the TV again; you didn't think weapons were the problem, but you weren't going to argue with Loki. As one team kicked the ball all the way down the field to start the game and the crowd went crazy, you couldn't help but think that your daddies could have done a better job. But they were both watching the screen, even Steve, who had said he wasn't interested.
"Did you bring your game?" Loki's gaze flicked from the screen to the group of adults, back to you.
You nodded, "In my backpack."
The corner of his mouth lifted, "Do you want to play?"
Glancing at Steve, you nibbled at your lower lip; it might be a bit early to ask. But you slipped off the couch and trotted over to Steve, hands clasped behind your back, "Papa, can I play my game with Loki please?"
He gave a soft chuckle, his gaze flicking to Loki on the other sofa, "It hasn't even been ten minutes, sweetheart."
You glanced over your shoulder at the TV, "But it's screen time, right?" You let your lip jut out a tiny bit, shuffling between Steve's legs.
A little crease appeared between Steve's brows as Tony snorted a laugh, "She's not bad."
"You two can play, but not the whole time, alright angel?" Steve offered, ignoring Tony. He tipped his chin at the backpack by the sofa, "Go ahead."
You beamed, "Thank you!" Scuttling over, you rifled through the bag, pulling out your game and clamoring back onto the sofa beside Loki.
"Wait, I wanna play!" Wanda's voice piped up from the foosball table, a note of resentment at not being invited in her voice.
"Me too!" Peter echoed, scrambling to follow as Wanda grabbed her own game and climbed up next to you.
Shuffling over to make room for her, you bumped shoulders with Loki, making him glance sharply away.
"Sorry," you murmured, pulling in to try giving him more space as Peter squeezed in between you and Wanda, crowding the sofa further.
"It's fine."
"Babydoll, do you want to sit with me?" Bucky patted his lap.
Nodding, you disentangled yourself from the others and scurried over to Bucky, who pulled you into his lap, wrapping his arm around you and pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
You looked to Loki, "Are you ready?"
He nodded, though he looked a bit displeased, his mouth pressed into a thin line as Peter and Wanda chattered beside him.
You played, but Loki no longer seemed in the mood for it. He kept glancing at Thor as though he wanted to go home, but Thor, whose face was painted and had a plate piled with food, didn't seem to be going anywhere soon.
When the Giants made a big play, the room exploded with noise, even Bucky, who was usually so soft-spoken. He threw his free hand in the air in a fist,  "YES, WHAT A THROW!"
You tensed, squeezing your eyes closed as though it would muffle the sound. For once, Bucky didn't notice- he was focused on the game. Stifling the threat of a pout, you set your game down and wriggled out of Bucky's grasp, expecting him to protest. But he let you go, his fingers grazing your arm absently.
Since you'd already gotten up, you had to find something to do. You slunk over to the food table, appraising the snacks, but you weren't really hungry. Glancing over at your daddies, you wanted them to notice you. Usually, they were so attentive that you couldn't hide anything from them, but today you couldn't seem to compete.
"Too loud?"
You'd been so busy watching Steve and Bucky that you hadn't noticed Peter trotting up to you; it looked like game time had been abandoned. Wanda was snuggling in with Natasha and Loki was speaking urgently in Thor's ear.
You hesitated before nodding; Steve had said no complaining. But Peter gave a knowing nod, "Me too." He held out a hand, "C'mon."
You followed him over to the closet. Inside, board games, blankets, and spare snacks filled the shelves. Eyeing a thick comforter at the very top, Peter climbed the shelves with ease, never wavering as he pulled the blanket out with one hand and tossed it down, following with two others before leaping from the top to land on the newly cushioned floor.
You watched him wide-eyed, breathing a soft, "Wow," as Peter grinned up at you from his dismount.
He began spreading the blankets out in a dense pile on the floor, carefully closing the closet door to muffle the noise as another cheer went up from the sofa area.
Once he was satisfied with his nest, he fixed a serious gaze on you, "I'm gonna go get our stuff. I'll be right back."
He grabbed the door knob, but you touched his hand, "Wait, um," your cheeks flushed with warmth, "Could you get my paci from my backpack?"
Peter smiled and nodded before disappearing, closing the door behind him. You decided it was kind of nice in here; the door muffled the sound nicely and the blankets didn't even smell like a closet. You took another from the shelf, wrapping yourself up as Peter returned, slyly slipping back in and closing the door without a peep.
"Here, pretty girl," he said with earnest enthusiasm as he gave you your things: your game, your paci, and your sippy cup, also from your backpack. He also gave you a cookie from the snack table and a pair of blue headphones.
"I don't like loud noises sometimes either," he said nonchalantly, as though that explained everything.
"Thank you," you murmured, suddenly feeling shy at his attention. Peter was always nice to you, but this was different. He was looking at you the way small children often looked at babies, or children smaller than them; like he was honor-bound to make sure you were cared for.
Part of you wanted to reject his help; you didn't want to be the baby of the group, but you supposed Peter knew what that was like too. So you slid the headphones over your ears, muffling the sounds of the game even further, before you put your paci in and played your game.
Never being allowed to play your game for this long at home, you lost yourself in it. It wasn't until the closet door opened, Tony on the other side, that you remembered where you were.
"Found them. What are we doing, playing Seven Minutes in Heaven?" He smirked, "I get next round."
Feeling extra small, you just stared up at him, eyelashes fanning your cheeks as you blinked in the bright light.
"It was too loud, Daddy," Peter explained, placing himself resolutely between you and Tony.
"Pete, you can't-"
"Tony found them, Steve, in the closet," Bucky was calling back over his shoulder. Peering over Tony's shoulder, his expression melted into a smile, "What are you doing in there, babydoll?" Registering the doe-eyed look on your face, he gave you an easier question, "You comfy?"
Nodding, a contented smile peeked out from behind the pacifier.
Peter didn't budge from his place, "See? She's comfy. We're having fun!" His fists were balled up, even though no grown ups had demanded the closet be vacated.
Steve appeared over Bucky's shoulder, "What is she doing in-" Much like Bucky, Steve instantly softened his tone at the sight of you swaddled up and dewy eyed, "What are you doing in there, angel?" Bucky murmured something in Steve's ear before turning his attention back to you, "It's halftime, princess, do you want to come out for some pizza?" He paused to placate Peter, "You two can come back when the game starts again, if you want."
Peter nodded adamantly, but it was your nod Bucky was waiting for. You were feeling slow, like Bucky's string of words needed to be untangled before you understood what he'd asked you.
With a soft whisper in Peter's ear, Tony guided him back to the party, leaving Steve and Bucky with you. Steve knelt in the doorway, offering a hand, "You hungry, sweetness?"
You blinked at him once before messily untangling the nest of blankets you'd buried yourself in and clamoring over to his hand. But instead of accepting his help standing, you raised both arms, "Up?"
Steve grinned, hoisting you up under the arms and taking you out of the closet to sit on his hip. He removed the headphones Peter had loaned you, setting them back in the closet with your other things.
You babbled softly to yourself, suddenly entranced with the way Steve's blonde hair caught the light, your fingers drawn to the glistening gold. Steve and Bucky talked, though you didn't have enough capacity to truly listen.
"You don't think something is wrong, do you?"
"She seems happy."
"She doesn't usually get so small, Buck-"
"I know, Stevie," Bucky said soothingly. "We'll talk to her when she lets us." He kissed Steve on the cheek and you on the forehead before he veered toward the snack table, "I'll get her something to eat."
Steve fixed you with a puzzled look, "Is everything okay, sweetheart?"
He brushed hair away from your face and you leaned into his touch, "Papa." The word was slurred and barely audible, but Steve heard.
Fingers still buried in the hair behind his ear, you smushed your face into his neck, granting him a sloppy kiss, accented by a muffled, "Mwah." You giggled to yourself as Steve took his seat back on the couch, cradling you carefully in his lap.
You returned your attention to Steve's hair, fingers quickly undoing any attempt he'd made at styling it. He allowed it without complaint; it wasn't a secret that Steve liked having your attention, especially with an audience.
"Papa pretty," you declared, both hands shrouded in Steve's golden crown, now tousled and messy. Natasha laughed, drawing a derisive look from Wanda. Loki, who had been unsuccessful in convincing Thor to leave, looked miserly and disinterested, tucked into the corner of the sofa with his game, though he wasn't playing.
"Oh no, I don't think so," Steve suddenly tutted, capturing both of your hands in his, "My baby is the pretty one." And he buried his face in your neck, kissing and nibbling and tickling, your giggles devolving into gasping breaths by the time Bucky returned with food.
Steve relented, gathering you back into his arms to make room for Bucky, but before he could settle, you were straining against his grasp, trying to get to Bucky, "Dadadadada."
"Hold on," Steve chuckled, wrapping an arm around your waist to keep you in place. "Wait just a minute, sweet pea-"
"Dadada," you insisted, undeterred by Steve's interference. Reaching insistently for Bucky, you were no match for Steve's strength, eyes welling with frustrated tears.
Once Bucky was settled, he moved the plate safely out of the way, pulling you into his lap from Steve's grasp.
He cupped your chin, wiping a stray tear away, "No need for that, Daddy's right here, princess." You sniffled, urgency forgotten now that you had Bucky. He leaned in closer, cooing, "We know you're extra little, but try to tell us what you need with your big girl words, okay doll?"
To his surprise, you shook your head, "Uh-uh."
"You don't want to use big girl words?"
But you only babbled back at him, the sounds not quite forming all the way.
Steve caught Bucky's eye, but Bucky didn't push further, keeping a close eye on you as you grabbed a fistful of goldfish crackers from the plate he'd brought, sloppily spreading a trail of them from the end table to your seat on the sofa.
Steve captured your fist in his hand, trying to work the crackers loose before crumbs ended up scattered all over the rec room, "Here sweetness, we'll feed you instead, hm?"
But you let out a squeal of protest, fist instinctively jerking away and scattering crackers across the floor.
Before you could process, there was a sting to the top of your fist; Steve had given you a sharp tap, "Hey!"
As the realization set in, you stared at Steve with a wobbly lip, sucking in a breath, but before you could cry, Peter exclaimed, "That's not nice!"
"Pete-" Tony began, trying to shush Peter from the snack table, but Peter ducked his arm and charged over to the sofa, crossing his arms expectantly at Steve.
"Hitting is mean."
Now that the attention was on someone else, you buried your face in Bucky's shoulder with a soft whimper, watching Peter and Steve.
"Peter, honey," Steve tried to explain, "I didn't hit-"
"Yes you did, I saw," Peter insisted, though he glanced at your face, verifying your watery eyes and sniffles before he challenged Steve for the second time.
"I would-"
"I saw too," Loki chimed in. Wanda was quiet under Natasha's guidance, but she nodded her agreement.
Steve looked pained, "That wasn't to hurt-"
"Steve just needed to get her attention," Bucky tried to help.
But Peter wasn't having it, "Pretty girl is little, she doesn't know." Catching the note of ferocity in his own tone, Peter dialed it back, stealing a glance back at Tony to make sure he wasn't in trouble yet, "You're strong Uncle Steve, what if you did hurt her hand on accident?"
Steve took a deep, calming breath, "I would never hurt her on purpose. I'll be more careful, okay Pete?"
Peter didn't appear convinced, but he nodded. Steve urged him over closer, speaking low, "You're doing a good job looking out for her, okay buddy? I appreciate it."
Peter nodded again, stealing another glance at you to make sure you were really okay. But before he could return to Tony, who was still at the snack table chatting with Stephen, you held out your hand, offering the last goldfish cracker clutched there.
Politely accepting a cracker, Peter scuttled back to Tony, his courage depleted after standing up to a grown up.
Steve turned his guilty gaze back to you. You stared at him, tucked into the safety of Bucky's chest. He captured your now empty hand, pressing kisses into the back of it, "I'm sorry if I surprised you, sweetheart. Will you let me feed you, please?"
You nodded slowly, making no move to lift your head from Bucky; he was rubbing your back and it was making you sleepy.
"Buck, she won't sleep tonight if she naps now," Steve warned, taking the plate from Bucky's free hand and offering you a bite of pizza.
Bucky chuckled at your groan of protest as he removed his hand, propping you up in his lap so you could eat, "C'mon doll, eat something for us?"
You nibbled the pizza half-heartedly, but it was enough for them, both men raining praises on you for being so good. You only ate a little, but Steve and Bucky were more focused on keeping you calm and happy.
Suddenly remembering the party, you peeked at the others. Wanda was laying with her head in Nat's lap, playing her game solo. Peter was with Tony and Stephen at the snack table still, looking a bit shy. Thor was engrossed in the halftime report on the TV, bringing a large flagon to his lips for a deep drink, oblivious to the thunderstorm of atmosphere surrounding Loki beside him.
Loki looked miserable. His game was turned off, resting on the arm of the sofa. He had his knees pulled up, arms wrapped around them so his chin rested in the gap in between.
Tugging Bucky's sleeve, you pointed, "Dada?"
Bucky spoke gently in your ear, "What is it, princess?"
You struggled for the words, "He sad."
"He does look a little sad, huh?" he murmured, stealing a glance at Steve to see if he was listening, but he was chatting with Nat and Bruce. "You wanna help?"
You nodded and Bucky dutifully carried you over, patiently waiting for you to speak, "Loki?" It didn't sound like it usually did- the syllables were disjointed, but Loki was already paying attention.
"Yes," he replied plainly.
"I sit?"
"Sure."
Bucky settled you in between Loki and Thor, "Shout if you need me, okay baby?" He kissed your forehead before he returned to Steve, who urgently spoke in his ear, his gaze on you.
Loki didn't strike up a conversation. Words weren't your strong suit at the moment, so you just leaned against him, resting your head on his shoulder, "Okay?" Loki gave a short hum that sounded like approval, so you closed your eyes.
After a minute or two, Loki shifted, lowering his legs. You sat up as he readjusted, and he glanced at you, "You can stay- if you want."
Smiling, you leaned on him again as he grabbed his game. Lighting up further, you pointed, "I watch?"
He gave a tight nod, "Sure."
So you watched him play for a few minutes, disturbed only slightly when Thor finally stood to refill his mug and get more food. When Thor came back, plopping into his seat and shifting the sofa, you were pushed further into Loki, sliding down into his cushion with him.
You let out a soft, surprised squeal, fingers curling around Loki's arm for support. You saw the way Bucky's head snapped to you, instantly seeking you out to make sure you were okay. Steve, who had never stopped watching, narrowed his eyes.
"My apologies, little one, are you alright?" Thor patted your head.
Giggling, you nodded, allowing Bucky to relax as the game started again. As the ball was kicked again, everyone settled back into their seats to watch, although the noise quickly picked back up.
Before long, there was a collective inhale across the room and then all of the adults started shouting.
"Come on!"
"That was pass interference! Are the refs blind?"
Thor thumped his fist on the arm of the sofa, "Foul play!"
Peter caught your eye from his place next to Tony before he stood. Moments later, he was in front of you, the pair of blue headphones and your pacifier brought from the closet.
Rather than hand them to you, Peter carefully put the headphones on your head, though they weren't plugged in, and held the paci up to your lips.
"Fank you," you slurred around it, grateful to Peter but suddenly shy at the attention.
Peter grinned proudly before climbing back up next to Tony, who ruffled his hair.
Loki grabbed the end of the headphone cable, plugging it into his game so the sound would cover the noise.
Resting your head back on Loki's shoulder, you could hear the faint murmur of chatter and the occasional exclamation following a big play, but the sound wasn't so overwhelming.
And despite the dull uptick in the volume after each play, your eyelids grew heavy, your cheek smushed against Loki's shoulder.
You woke as your seat suddenly shifted again, the collective shout loud enough to pierce the protection of the headphones.
Jolting up to see Thor jump off the sofa, his fists raised in the air, "YES! YES!" The other adults cheered with him, but the sudden change in atmosphere was a shock. With a single sniffle, you burst into tears, the sound muffled underneath the din.
Before you could inhale for a wail, a pair of arms hoisted you up, Steve's scent soothing you before you'd even caught a glimpse of blonde hair.
"I've got you, sweetness," he cooed in your ear, whisking you back to his place next to Bucky.
You sniffled weakly, lip trembling, but no one other than Loki seemed to have noticed anything was wrong. By the time Bucky finished cheering and Thor sat back down, Steve had you cradled in his lap, Peter's headphones playing soft music in your ears.
Bucky smiled at you, brushing his thumb idly over your ankle. You blinked at him and Bucky instantly noticed the glitter of tears on your lashes, giving your ankle a soft squeeze and lifting a headphone to talk to you, "You okay, babydoll? You need to go home?"
Sloppily rubbing an eye, you shook your head, "Daddy havin' fun."
But Bucky shook his head, leaning in closer, "You tell me if you need to go, okay?" He cupped your chin, "My baby is more important, alright?"
Cheeks warming under the intensity of his gaze, you nodded. Looking satisfied, Bucky sat back, though he rested his palm on your ankle, his thumb resuming its path.
You curled your fingers into Steve's jersey, watching the people run around on the screen for lack of anything else to focus on. With Bucky's thumb tracing over your ankle and Steve's warm palm tracing your back, watching the game wasn't so bad.
As a man in blue ran down the field, another cheer went up, growing louder as his long strides carried him down into the very end of the field. Thor launched from his seat shouting again, oblivious to the sharp look he got from Steve. But you were ready for it this time, clapping along with everyone else.
The room quickly got quiet as all the players lined up by the goalposts, the tension obvious.
Bucky's fingers slowed on your ankle, squeezing softly as the play started. You struggled to keep track of the ball, but the room exploded in cheers again and Bucky hoisted you off Steve's lap as he jumped up to match Thor's enthusiasm.
Giggling, you clapped again, "Did we win, Daddy?"
Bucky grinned, looking as excited as you'd ever seen him, "We sure did, babydoll."
"Yay!"
Bucky looked so happy to see you excited about something he liked, blue eyes lit up with little crinkles around the corners of his eyes. Maybe you could like football too.

Need You Now
Pairing: Daddy!Stucky x little f!reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Summary: Captain America and the Winter Soldier have been in high demand recently, and have barely been home. Or....have you become just too much for them?
Warnings: Agere (SSC), f! reader, angst, reader is named but used sparingly, reader gets sad, temper tantrum, scolding, timeouts, threat of spanking, tears, fluff because I’m soft and this world is not.
You could hear them bustling around in the apartment, trying to be quiet so as not to wake you. Little did they know you’d been awake for a while, snuggling Jellybean the Bunny under your soft purple blankets. You rubbed your cheek against her gentle silky fur, trying to soothe yourself from all the bad feelings threatening to creep up again.
Steve and Bucky had been ridiculously busy lately. They had taken an important mission over in Wakanda, leaving you in the care of Tony and Pepper for three days. You and Peter had had a blast together, but all the same you were eager for your daddies to return home. Until the very next day, when they got called to appear before the SHIELD board with T’Challa to give a briefing in person. This time, Sam came to stay with you in the apartment for the two days they were gone. It was fun staying up late and eating junk food with him (all in the name of being declared ‘the most fun uncle’), but you were really starting to miss your daddies. And they didn’t call as much as they normally did when they were away.
It was about then that a faint fear started creeping up on you. They...they weren’t avoiding you, were they? They were the bravest, most bestest superheroes in the whole world, and their job was very important. They had to go away sometimes to save the world. You knew this well, but as you regressed littler and littler from missing them, it was harder to stop from wondering if they were trying to stay away.
Two days ago, Steve and Bucky had been back all of four hours when they got called away again. They had held you in their arms the entire time they’d been home, right up until they had to board the Quinjet, and it had almost been enough to convince you they weren’t leaving on purpose.
But you’d been a brave, big girl, watching as they waved goodbye until they couldn’t see you anymore. You’d been well behaved for Sam, so he didn’t question the fact that you were quieter than normal, although he did bring it up to Steve in a text message. Steve and Bucky had gotten home in time to give you your bath and tuck you into bed, but the very next day they were gone again, this time until well past bedtime. They’d read you a story over FaceTime, with Sam holding up the phone for you, and you’d fallen asleep in your own bed before they’d finished.
That had been last night. And you didn’t need super soldier hearing to tell that they were getting ready to leave again this morning.
The door to your room quietly opened, but your back was to it so you couldn’t tell who it was. You didn’t hear anything until there were soft fingers combing through your hair. It was Bucky, then. He had been trained to move silently in his previous life. Who would have thought he’d end up using that training to not wake his sleeping little?
“Good morning, Princess,” Bucky said softly. You turned abruptly to face him, still clutching Jellybean. Bucky seemed a little surprised. “How long have you been awake, Baby?” he asked, brushing the hair out of your face. You didn’t answer, but nuzzled your nose into Jellybean again. “Are we feeling littler than normal today?” he said, a slight chuckle in his voice. When you didn’t answer again, his brow furrowed.
“You feeling alright, kiddo?” Bucky asked, confused by your lack of action and exuberance. You held your arms out to him instead, just wanting to be held.
Daddy immediately scooped you up and cuddled you into his massive and warm chest. You clung to the teeshirt that he wore- it smelled of leather, vanilla, sandalwood and cinnamon, him and Papa both. You wanted them here, needed them here, but you just couldn’t find the words to tell him that. Bucky gently put his hand on your forehead to make sure you weren’t running a fever or something, still puzzling out why you were acting this way. He rubbed your back with his vibranium hand; the coolness of the metal usually soothed you.
“How ‘bout some breakfast?” Daddy asked, wondering if you were just hangry. You turned into a right little monster when you were hangry. Still keeping you snuggled in to his chest, he stood up and walked towards the kitchen, taking Jellybean from your hands and leaving her on your bed. You whined unhappily- this meant the day was moving on and you were going to be left again. Bucky misinterpreted your fussing. “Jellybean needs to stay here, we don’t want her trying to steal your food. C’mon, let’s go see Papa, he’s got something yummy for you I bet.” You just buried your face in his neck, grumbling softly, wishing you could find the right words.
The smell of scrambled eggs and toast wafted deliciously, but you were too upset to eat, so you tightened your hold on Bucky’s neck. “Hey Stevie, we got us a little grumpy bunny this morning,” he said in a teasing tone. You growled at that- you weren’t grumpy- but that only made Bucky laugh. “See what I mean? We need some breakfast, stat.” He turned to put you down in your chair, but you whined loudly, keeping as tight a hold on him as you could.
Bucky easily broke your grip on him, but placed a long, gentle kiss on your forehead. “It’s okay Grumpy Bunny, Papa’s gonna fix you up with food and then you’ll be much happier, okay? I gotta get ready to go. Be good and eat up.” You yowled loudly in protest as he walked away, but he didn’t even turn around. You huffed and crossed your arms, trying to be angry instead of sad.
Right at that moment, Steve approached you with your favorite baby animals plate. He laughed softly at the pout on your face, it was so adorable. “I see Daddy was right- we got us a grumpy bunny this morning,” he said as well. You were really annoyed now.
“Nodda gwumpy bunny,” you grumbled, immediately disproving your statement. Instead of teasing like Daddy had though, Papa smiled softly, placing the plate down in front of you.
“Okay, angel, you’re not a grumpy bunny,” he said soothingly, reaching out to stroke your cheek. His touch made you want to cry- you needed so much more of it. “Can you be a good bunny then and eat your breakfast? We’ve got to get you packed up to go spend the day with Uncle Tony and Peter.”
This was too much. You only got dumped off with Uncle Tony when they were going to be gone for a while. You didn’t know how to express yourself or your sadness, so you just sat there. “Do you want me to feed you, angel?” Steve asked, a bit thrown off by your lack of action. He pulled his chair over next to yours, then reached over to pick up the fork. But you surprised him by clambering onto his lap instead, pressing your front to his and wrapping your arms around his neck as tight as you could.
Papa immediately responded by rubbing your back, tucking your head into the crook of his neck. “What’s wrong with my baby girl, huh?” he murmured softly into your ear. “Can you tell me what’s going on?” You whined miserably, not even wanting to talk now- just wanting to be held and not left behind.
Steve, while loving your clinginess, was getting a bit worried. This was so out of character for you, but you weren’t talking to him, so how was he supposed to fix this? He was even more eager now to get going on this last briefing and just get it over with so he could come home to you. “C’mon, let’s eat so you can go play and have fun with Peter, okay?”
“No!”
“Hey, I know you’re upset, but you don’t speak to me like that sweetheart,” Steve gently reprimanded. “You know better.”
That made you even more upset. You’d finally found a word and you were immediately scolded for it? Didn’t he want you to talk to him? You pushed your face harder into his neck, losing all words in your feelings and only able to whine. Trying not to feel frustrated at his own shortcomings for not being able to help you, Steve reached over to pick up a piece of toast.
“C’mon angel, you need to eat. Do you want some jelly on your toast?” he asked, trying to tempt you with sweets. You gave a loud, angry growl, turning your mouth into his shoulder. “Katie,” Steve said firmly. “You need to eat, right now. Please stop this.” He tried jostling you a bit to get to you turn your face back to him, but you weren’t budging. “Baby, listen to me. You need to eat. We have to get going. Now.”
Before you were even fully aware of it, you turned and angrily smacked the toast out of his hand. You both froze for a second, surprised at your actions. You hadn’t meant to do that, but you were out of options and the idea of eating was just way too much for you to handle.
Steve recovered before you could. He grabbed you by your little shoulders, holding you away a bit so you could see his angry eyes. “That was very naughty, little girl,” he scolded, making you feel even worse. “You know better than to act like that. I know you’re upset but that does not give you permission to misbehave.” He stood up, taking you with him and marched straight to your timeout mat. “You think about your behavior, little miss.” He plopped you down, perhaps a bit more harshly than he’d meant to, but you didn’t make a sound. You were still recovering from the shock of your actions, and now you found yourself facing a cold, lonely corner while your daddies ignored you and got ready to leave you yet again. They must be done with you- you couldn’t even eat like their good girl anymore. Who would want to stay with such a bad girl? Tears started running down your face.
Bucky angrily made his way back to the kitchen the moment he’d heard the altercation from the other room. He’d been very clear from day one that you were not to hit either of them EVER, and he knew that Steve was too much of a softy to discipline you properly (in his mind) for hitting. He wasn’t about to let you get away with this with only a timeout.
Steve saw the fire in Bucky’s eyes the second he appeared at the threshold to the room, and then he saw Bucky glare at your tiny form in the corner. He knew exactly what was in his husband’s head. “Buck,” Steve warned before he could take a step towards you. Bucky’s head snapped to him.
“She hit you,” he responded, steely unforgiveness in his tone. That only made the tears run faster down your face and you sniffed a bit, but you didn’t dare turn your head to look. His super soldier hearing picked up on your sniffles immediately, but he ignored the little flare of protectiveness that ignited at your crying.
“She didn’t hit ME, she knocked her breakfast out of my hand,” Steve corrected. Bucky spread his hands out to Steve as if to say what’s the difference? Steve responded with his own look of come on, man. “She’s having a rough morning. After her timeout, we’ll see if we can get her to talk to us and tell us what’s going on.” Bucky’s glare didn’t change one bit. “Buck,” Steve said softly, as only he knew how to.
The fire dulled slightly in Bucky’s eyes, and instead of storming over to you and putting you over his knee to paint your little butt red, he stiffly made his way over to Steve. “You know I’m not going to tolerate hitting, Steve,” he said firmly. Steve reached out and rubbed his husband’s arms soothingly, trying not to smile at the notion that both of his loves were being grumpy bunnies this morning. He dropped his voice so you wouldn’t hear.
“I know, sweetheart, I know. And I’m not saying you should...but just...grant her a little grace this morning, okay? She’s clearly upset about something. And you and I are both too stressed out. We all need a little timeout.”
Bucky suddenly heaved a huge sigh, running his hand down his face and trying to swallow the lump in his throat. “After today, we’re getting family leave for a week, I don’t care what the board says,” he snarled quietly, more to himself than at Steve. “We’ve spent more time away from her than we have with her in so long. And that’s not right. Fury can shove it if he tries to send us out again. We are not spending enough time with her and it’s killing me.”
Steve nodded in agreement, thinking, the puzzle pieces coming together. “Do you...Buck, do you think that’s what’s causing her to act out? Do you think she’s missing us too?” Bucky’s blue eyes shot to Steve’s, and Steve could see the cogs turning.
“Only one way to find out,” Bucky said grimly, turning his gaze back to your tiny, hunched over figure in the corner. His heart twisted at the sight of you sitting there, all alone. “She didn’t want to talk to me this morning. Did you have any luck?”
Steve shook his head. “No, but we have to try again.” His eyes drifted to his watch. You still had thirty seconds left, but screw it. He needed to hold you now. “Katie-Cat, come here please,” he called to you in a soft tone.
At the special nickname that only your daddies got to call you, you crumbled. You folded in half in the corner, putting your head down and sobbing uncontrollably. Before you knew it, you felt yourself being lifted off the floor, cradled in a pair of warm arms.
Papa carried you back to the couch, Daddy suddenly and anxiously right at his side. They were shushing you and petting you, trying as hard as they could to soothe you while you sobbed. Papa pressed his cheek to the top of your head, murmuring that it was all okay. You opened one teary eye to see Daddy looking at you directly, his face lined with worry. You twisted into Papa’s chest at that, knowing that you’d been really bad and that Daddy wouldn’t tolerate your behavior. This was it. They were going to let you go, you just knew it.
“Baby, please talk to us,” Steve pleaded, unable to keep the heartbreak from his voice. “Please. We’re not going anywhere. We’re right here and we need you to talk to us. Please, honey, please.”
“I...”
“Yes, Baby? What is it?”
“I sowwy I bad,” you finally hiccuped out. Papa’s arms squeezed tighter around you.
“Oh angel,” he said sorrowfully, wishing he could soothe the angst in your heart. “You’re having a bad day and you made a bad choice. You’re not bad. You’re our good little girl.”
“Bu-but,” you said, hiccuping again through your tears. You couldn’t find the words again, so you pointed back to the table where you’d knocked the toast out of Papa’s hand. You looked fearfully up at Bucky. “Sowwy Daddy, sowwy,” you cried, hoping they understood.
Bucky’s face contorted. He leaned back, suddenly afraid of how angry he’d been. He was scaring you, and that cut deeply. He’d spent so many years being the scary bad guy through no choice of his own, and now here he was again, doing it of his own free will. And with one of the people in this world who actually loved him. “I’m so sorry, baby girl,” he whispered, desperately wanting to reach for you but terrified that you would flinch away. “Daddy is so sorry, he didn’t mean to scare you.”
“I bad,” you said miserably, wiping your hand under your runny nose. On instinct, Bucky plucked a tissue from the box on the end table and wiped your nose, then used his thumb to dry the tears from your cheeks. He was almost done before he fully realized he was touching you. Just as he was about to withdraw, afraid of making you even more scared, you desperately latched onto his hand, putting it flat on the side of your face and nuzzling into it. “I m-miss y-you and P-papa,” you finally managed to stutter out.
There it was. Steve’s heart shattered at your admission. You were missing them just as much as they were missing you. He felt like the worst caregiver in the world. He had been so focused on getting the job done so he could get back to you that he hadn’t realized that doing the job was taking its toll on all of you. “My sweet, perfect little girl,” he said, trying to pour all the love he had into those words. His heart mended just a bit when you turned your gaze to his in wonder. “Papa and Daddy are so sorry that we’ve been gone so much. We have missed our baby so much, and we’re so sorry.”
“Sorry, angel,” Bucky echoed, his voice laced with emotion. “We’ve been wanting to be home with you so badly. We didn’t realize that you felt the same way.”
“Miss you both!!” you said, popping up suddenly, batting the tears from your cheeks, relieved that you found words again. “Don’t wanna go!! Please, I be good!!”
“Go?” Steve asked, confused. “You’re not going anywhere, angel.”
“I not?”
“No, baby, why would you think that?”
“Cause I was bad and you not home.”
“Fuck,” Bucky cursed softly, the full implications of what you’d been thinking hitting him square in the face. You fell back against Steve chest, pointing a little at Bucky.
“Dat’s a no-no word, Daddy,” you said, ever so softly. Then you giggled.
That little laugh suddenly made their world a whole lot brighter. Steve couldn’t help the relieved laughter that came bubbling out of his own mouth. “You’re right, munchkin,” he said, a tear rolling down his cheek. “Guess Daddy’s going to get his mouth washed out with soap, huh?” That made you giggle even more. Bucky couldn’t help himself. He reached for you, and when you went willingly to him, he felt his heart piece itself back together.
“Listen, baby girl,” he said, much more confident now that he knew you felt safe in his arms again. “Papa and I will never make you go away. If you choose to go, that’s your choice, but please hear me. You’re our family. And we love you so much.”
“Even when I bad?”
“Even when you make bad choices.”
“I don’t gotta go?”
“Nope.”
“And you gonna stay today?”
Bucky looked up at Steve to find him already on the phone, his face set determinedly. He gave him a crooked smile before turning his loving gaze on you. “Try and keep us away from you today, Trouble,” he said, nuzzling your nose.
After politely but firmly telling Fury of the change of plans, Steve and Bucky didn’t set you down the whole day. You finally gobbled down your breakfast, followed by a round of your favorite cartoons while you were passed in between your daddies, cuddling the whole time. The rest of the day was just the three of you, against the world, as it would always be.

Petey smiled as he quickly started to clean up “Is there any books chu might wants?” You helped him clean up as he thought about it “Mm i

He walked with you into the living room as he grabbed yours and his shoes, putting his on as your papa and dada walked out. “Are you guys almost ready?” Steve asked as bucky grabbed the keys and went to start the car. “Yeps just gotta get m shoes on” you said as you slipped them on. As you were about to run out to the car Steve stopped you “Not so fast sweetheart, your shoes are untied” he said as you looked down “ Dont worry i got it!” petey said as he went over to you helping you tie your shoe. “tank you bubba” you said giving him a hug. He smiled hugging you back, then the three of you made you way to the car.
About 30 minutes later the four of you arrived, Buckey helped you out of your seat while Steve got petey out. All of you held hands as you walked through the parking lot and into the front of the book store “Ok kiddos you know the rules, no leaving the kid section and if anybody is mean to you, you come and get up immediately, ok?” Buckey said as you and petey nodded your heads.  “Ok kiddos, me and papa will be at the desk, if you need anything let us know and make sure the two of you stay together at all times” he said.
Once he got done giving his speech petey grabbed your hand and walked over to the kid's section starting to look around the books with you. You spotted a book with a puppy on it and went on your tip toes to get it, slightly struggling. Petey looked over at you to see that you needed help and walked over getting the book down for you. “tank yous” you said as you held the book in your hands, walking over to the little reading corner that had bean bags and tables to sit at. You went and sat in the bean bag chair, opening your book and looking through the pages and gently moving your fingers on the pictures. You looked at petey who was looking at a book about sharks and got up  and walked over to him “Hey bubba, tan u pease read to mes” you asked carefully holding up the book.
“Of course, buggy” he said as he put down the book and then walked back with you in the corner, sitting down in the bean bag chair beside you, putting your head on his shoulder and then he finally started to read. As petey started to read you felt your eyes feel slightly heavy, but not wanting to take a nap you tried to force yourself to stay awake. Petey noticed u starting to fall asleep, so he tried his best to grab a book from the shelf beside him without waking you up.  Once he had the other book in his lap, he continued to read the book you gave him as your eyes soon fell shut, he put your book off to the side carefully.
About 10 minutes later Steve and bucky go in to check on the two of you, soon being met with a sight that filled adoration. The two of them walked over to y'all “How ya doin there kiddo?” Steve asked with a soft voice. Petey gave him a thumbs-up as he didnt want to take any chances of waking you up. “Thats good bud, but i think its time to head home now” Steve said as bucky walked over to you carefully picking you up trying not to wake up and quietly walked to the car while steve helped peter put the books away and then headed out the door.
The rest of the night went smoothly, with you taking a nap and having pizza for dinner and even papa and dada letting you stay up a little later due to petey staying the night. You spent that time watching walle and being curled up on peteys lap as he play with your hair and holding a stuffie close to you, happy to be with your caregivers and the best sibby you could ever ask for.

Warnings: DDLG, bath time, washing your hair, cute nicknames, idk 🤷‍♀️
Pairings: Daddies!Stucky ; Daddy!Bucky x Papa!Steve x Little!Reader
Summary: Bath time with your favorite bath toys, and your Daddies!
Word Count: 1,842
*・༓☾:*:・゚★,。・:
“Lovebug,” Bucky spoke as he entered the playroom. "It's bath time, bubs." Catching your attention from your coloring book on the carpeted floor and glance up at him.
“But Daddy,” drawing the word out for more exaggeration. “I haven’t finished my blue unicorn yet…” you sigh with a slight frown.
Bucky kneels down next to you, resting his large hand against the back of your head reassuringly, and gives you a slight smile. “I know, bubs, but you can continue working on it in the morning, okay?” he says as he rubs his hand over your hair.
Still with a slight frown but hope now gleaming in your eyes, you reply, “Promise Daddy?” While staring into Bucky's big eyes. You study his face to make sure his next reply is truthful.
Bucky stares down at you, a loving smile overtaking his face because of how precious his little baby is. “Of course, I promise, Angel. Now, how about we get cleaned up and ready for bedtime?” You nod as he picks you up and sets you down on his hip, walking out of your playroom and towards the bathroom.
Leaning your head down on his relatively comfortable shoulder, you ask, “Could I have a snack after my bath Daddy?”
This question receiving a humorous laugh from Bucky. “Sure, Doll.”
♡༓☾ 。:・゚☆*
Bucky lifts you into the now full bathtub, steam seeping into the room nicely. Sitting down in hot water, your body immediately relaxes as you let out a sigh.
Bucky slowly sits down beside the tub, reaching over to grab something. “You want toys, baby?” He says, holding up a basket of all your toys explicitly designed for the tub.
Your eyes lit up, gaze catching on the rubber ducks and the bath crayons. “Duckies ‘and crayons, Daddy!” Excitement laces every word.
Bucky knew how much you loved your bath toys. Your cute reaction never failed to make him laugh. As much as Bucky loves your adorable little reactions, he still wants you to remember your manners. Pulling the basket away momentarily, he asks, “What do we say, Doll?”
You grin up at Bucky. “Please, Daddy?” Your hands softly splash around in the water as you squirm.
Bucky’s eyes squint at you, pleased at your answer. He hands over the basket. Left hand grabbing onto the side, you peer into the basket full of toys and spot all your favorites. You grab all the duckies and start placing them into the water. Then you spot the bath crayons you love to draw with and hurriedly grab every color and set them on the edge of the tub with the biggest smile imaginable on your face.
“Got yourself a whole collection, don't you, Doll?” Bucky says with a chuckle, putting the basket back down on the floor. With his legs spread out before him, he leans back on his hands to watch you play for a while.
You stare at all the toys now in the bathtub and try to decide what to start with first. Do I play with the duckies first? Or the markers first? You wonder to yourself. You choose to start with the markers and draw them a home! You grab the blue marker and get to work on drawing a house for your duckies as Bucky sits quietly to watch you work with a smile on his face.
♡༓☾ 。:・゚☆*
“Is that your drawing, LoveBug?” Steve asks as he walks into the large bathroom. Bucky gazed up at his husband. Steve walks forward and sits on the bathtub's edge to see your work closer.
Peering up at him, you smile and reply, “Yeah, Dada! For my duckies!” Steve gently places his hand on your back, slowly moving in up and down. You continue to look up at him, waiting for a reply. As Steve began to open his mouth to say something, your impatience got the better of you as you interrupted him before he could speak. “It's a house, Dada. For my duckies.” You remark, as though you have to state the obvious.
This causes laughter to erupt from both Bucky and Steve. Both men can hardly contain their laughter at how you stated your sentence. You weren't quite sure why they were laughing. Steve knows what a house is, right? You think to yourself as confusion flows through your little-space mind. You ignore the quiet laughter and continue drawing, adding little flowers to the windowsill.
Steve, still quietly laughing and failing at his attempts to stop, says, “I know it’s a house, LoveBug. It looks very good too. You did such a good job, Baby!” He gives you a small pat on the head.
“Thank you, Dada.” You smile at the rewarding words, feeling pleased with yourself.
“Okay, I’m gonna go prepare Doll a snack for after her bath.” Bucky stood up, brushing the wrinkles out of his shirt. “Could you wash her hair?” Bucky asked, directing his question toward Steve.
“Yeah. Yeah, I’ve got it.” Steve replied, moving over to grab the shampoo bottle. “It shouldn't take long.” Turning his head around to face his husband, he gave Bucky a quick, intimate smile.
Bucky nodded, smiling back at his husband and exiting the bathroom.
Turning back to you, Steve grabbed a cup and filled it with water. “You ready to wash your hair, Doll?”
Facing away from Steve, you squeal your approval and cover your eyes. The water swooshes down your long hair. Steve repeats the action, fully drenching your hair to prepare for the shampoo. He sets the cup down and grabs the shampoo, squeezing out just enough to massage your roots.
As Steve starts rubbing the shampoo into your hair, all you can think about is how lovely the feeling of his big, warm hands massaging your head is. You cherish every moment, the way you can feel his fingertips gliding through your hair, and the perfect hot bath water warming you up. You could stay here in this moment forever.
Steve pulls his hands from your hair and grabs the cup, filling it up with water once more. “You ready, Doll?”
You give him a little thumbs up with your right hand. “Yes, Dada.” You say as quietly as a whisper, knowing Steve would hear you no matter how quiet you were. You quickly, but carefully as to not hurt yourself, slap your hands over your eyes, causing a calm giggle from Steve.
Steve pours the water down your long hair, using his left hand to guide his fingertips through the strands and help the water remove all the shampoo. He repeats this action a few times until he’s satisfied. “Now we’ve just gotta do the conditioner and you'll be ready to go, Baby.” Steve remarks, attempting to convey a bit of enthusiasm in his voice to help encourage you.
“Can I play with my duckies while you put in the conditioner?” You ask him, rotating around to face him better.
“Of course, you can, Doll.” He says and begins to condition your hair.
You grab your yellow duckie, deciding his name is Albert, while Steve strokes your hair gently. You determine that your duckies will live together in the house you drew, not including Donald because he’s in time out. You set Donald on the edge of the tub farthest away from you, causing Steve's hands to falter as you move.
“What are you doing, Doll? Why is that duckie going all the way over there?” Steve asks, resuming his massage on your hair.
“That’s Donald, Dada. He’s in time out.” You say nonchalantly.
Your reply has Steve raising his eyebrows and halting his hands. “Donald the duck is in time out?” He questioned, beginning to laugh.
You simply hum in the affirmative to his question, too focused on playing with your duckies to notice his laughter.
Trying to contain himself, he ask’s, “What’s he in timeout for, baby?”
You turn around to face Steve, slightly amused by his laughter but keeping your pure look of seriousness etched on your face. “Because Donald stole Puddle's car keys, then burned down all of Daisy’s daffodils! It was so mean of him, Dada!” You exclaim.
Steve bursts out in laughter, unable to contain himself any longer. He doubled down, causing you to quietly giggle at his bizarre reaction.
“Dada, it’s not funny!” You declare even as giggles are escaping your mouth while you speak.
“I'm sorry, Doll.” Steve says, his laughter slowly starting to fade as he calms down.
You and Steve make eye contact, and Steve can't help the chuckles that leave his mouth while he covers it with his hand.
Once Steve finally settles after his fit of laughter, he says, “Okay, Doll. Let’s wash this conditioner out of your hair.”
You turn back around, facing away from Steve, and get into your position to cover your eye’s with your hands.
Steve takes his time rinsing out your hair, careful as to not pour any of the water down your face. Once he’s content with your hair, he tells you, “You can move your hands now, Doll. I just need to clean your body then you'll be good to go, Okay?”
You nod and proceed to play with your duckies again as Steve grabs a washcloth. Steve carefully clean’s you, thoroughly washing every bit of you possible. Once he feels that he has cleaned all up, he stands and grabs a towel. Steve grasp’s your favorite towel, a fluffy small towel in your favorite color, long enough to keep your entire body warm and cozy. The best part? It has a small hood with bunny ears!
“Stand up, Baby.” Steve says as he holds the towel up for you.
Your ear’s perk up at your Dada’s words, and you quickly stand up and face him. Steve gives you a small smile and wraps you up in the fluffy towel, picking you up from the tub and setting your feet on the floor. He starts rubbing his hands over your towel-wrapped body to help you dry off, doing so quickly causing a few giggles to escape you.
Steve, smiling ear to ear due to your giggles, kneel’s down a bit closer to you. “You ready to go get jammies on, Baby?” He says with excitement lacing his voice.
“Yeah!” You exclaim.
Steve gleams at you, picking you up and setting you on his hip as he exits the bathroom. You cuddle your head into his chest, feeling more content and sleepy than ever in your Dada’s arms. Right as you begin to close your eyes, you feel Steve handing you over to Bucky, causing you to peek your eyes open and squeak in excitement over seeing your Daddy. Both your Daddies chuckle, smiling at their little baby. You cuddle into Bucky’s chest, closing your eyes while Bucky gently sways you side to side.
All you feel is content happiness knowing that you're safe in your Daddy’s arms, and will soon be cuddled between the two super soldiers in bed.

Tumblr media
You didn’t know what caused it.
It could have been you left your AirPods in on accident while you were asleep, you could of caught something while you were out the day prior but all you knew was you were possibly the most uncomfortable you had ever been.
You could feel a sore throat coming last night but you never though it would be this bad.
You had vertigo and the entire room was spinning no matter what you did.
You had already been sick twice and you’d only been awake for an hour, your throat hurt and you couldn’t put your head on your pillows properly or else you would vomit again.
Nothing was stopping it.
Bucky and Steve had tried everything.
Making you soothing tea for your throat, giving you pain medication, putting a cool face washer on your forehead, you never understood the cool face washer trick but it’s what they do in the films.
You were currently sat up in bed looking at the clock 3:14 in the morning.
You wanted to go back to sleep but the dizzy spells wouldn’t let you.
Bucky was beside you stroking stray tears from underneath your eyes “it’s okay baby, I know how bad it can be” he whispered beside you knowing you don’t like being touched when your sick.
“Daddy don’t like it” you whined taking deep breaths trying to calm down the nausea.
“I know sweetheart, it’ll be over soon” he sighed grabbing the remote off of the bedside table.
Turning on the telly he turned on good luck Charlie knowing you liked to watch that when you were ill.
A few minutes later steve came in with some chicken noodle soup that he heated up on the stove for you “Steve it’s 4am” Bucky chuckled adjusting himself on the mattress so Steve could sit beside you.
“I’m perfectly aware of that buck but she has to eat something because she vomited so much” he explained quietly not wanting you to hear, you hated the word vomit.
“Dada don’t say it please” you whined throwing your head back against your pillow instantly regretting the action when you felt a wave of vertigo wash over you.
“Wow hey little baby it’s okay we won’t say it again” Bucky eased helping you back up, once your nausea left you steve eased the first spoonful into your mouth.
You loved chicken noodle soup, it was always one of the things that made you feel better.
Halfway through the bowl you started to come out in a cold sweat “buck can you wipe her off please?” “Yeah” bucky said reaching for the face washer beside him.
“Can I touch you angel?” He asked you gently “mhm” you agreed through a mouthful of the soup.
Once you finished it bucky went to ran a warm bath to sooth your aching bones, “daddy why is this happening” you whispered quietly staring at one spot on the wall as to not feel dizzy.
“I don’t know angel, I think we’re just gonna have to wait it out” he smiled sympathetically placing a kiss to your hairline.
“Baths ready” Bucky called out from the bathroom a few minutes later, Steve helped you get up on shaky legs and carried you for the short journey.
After undressing you bucky helped you into the bathtub and found a spot on the wall for you to focus on “just look the the conditioner bottle angel” he whispered.
Once you got out of the shower bucky dressed you in a pair of clean cotton pyjamas “I love you daddy, thank you for helping me” you whispered against his chest as he carried you out into the bedroom.
“Oh sweetheart I love you too, and you don’t have to thank me it’s what we do, right steve?” He said passing you onto Steve “absolutely angel” “I love you dada” you sighed nuzzling into his neck “I love you too little one”
A few minutes later steve sat up on the bed with you against his chest while Bucky went to warm you up a bottle to settle your stomach.
Once he came back he passed the bottle onto Steve and picked up your soft panda toy you’d had since you were a child and passed it to you.
Steve kissed the back of your head and placed the bottle into your mouth chuckling when you stared to drink it down almost immediately.
You knew that you wouldn’t be able to sleep again tonight, but at least you had two incredible people that were always prepared to stay up with you.

Daddy stucky x little reader x little Peter where the reader is in babyspace and want to give them paci kisses and everytime she does she start to giggle 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
Paci Kisses
Tumblr media
Word Count: 640
A/N: Eeeep this idea is so so cute, thank you for requesting it!!! I don't know what else to say about this one other than I had a sweet time writing it & I hope you enjoy! 💕
Steve and Bucky were so very in love, and they weren’t afraid to show it. Every morning when Steve put breakfast down on the table, he’d kiss Bucky on the lips before they each began eating, their own little way of saying grace. Peter would always giggle, usually regressed around that silly age when kisses meant cooties, but you were too little to understand. Every time one of them left the house, they’d share a kiss; sometimes even just when one of them left the room. You were so tiny, you didn’t fully comprehend what it meant, your brain only really working in concepts. All you knew was that daddies meant love, and daddies kissed a lot, so kisses must mean love too. You wanted to return the favor.
That morning, you were woken up by Steve’s strong arms lifting you out of your crib. You blinked sleepily and smiled at him from behind your paci, your cheeks rounding out and your eyes squinting as you did so.
“Good morning angel, I love you,” Steve greeted, always wanting the first thing you heard every morning to be words of love. He kissed you on the forehead and shifted you into the crook of his arm so he could carry you out into the living room with one hand. As he did so, you leaned forward, tapping the plastic of your pacifier against his cheek.
“Woah, what was that, baby?” Steve asked with a slight chuckle. He didn’t think you’d really be violent with him, but he wasn’t sure what you could be doing when you clumsily headbutted his cheek.
You were too small to explain it, your little brain couldn’t find the words. All you could think to do was kiss him, over and over and over.
“Mwah, mwah, mwah!” You mumbled softly from behind the paci, softening your taps in the hopes he’d get the memo. And boy did he. “Is that a kiss? Are you kissing daddy?” Steve asked with wide, excited eyes and laughter in his voice.
You nodded, giggling as you kissed him again, again, again. Steve kissed you back, planting his lips on the plastic, which made you giggle even more. Then, he carried you into the living room where Bucky and Peter were, with a huge grin on his face.
“Buck! Look what our baby can do!” He said with glee, and then tapped on his cheek, motioning for you to kiss him once more, which you did joyously.
Bucky cheered and clapped for you, getting up from the couch to give a standing ovation, which made you beam even harder from behind the paci.
“Can I have one, babydoll?” He asked eagerly, and you nodded, reaching out from Steve’s arms towards Bucky’s.
You happily kissed your Baba all over his face, giggling after each one until eventually the kisses devolved into you just nuzzling your paci across his cheeks like a puppydog. Steve joined the cuddlefest on the couch, pinching your little round cheeks. Peter had been distracted from his toys since the moment you entered the room, watching your interactions with captivated awe, but he finally couldn’t stand it anymore. He stood up, letting a toy car fall from his hand with a clatter.
“‘S not fair! I want kisses too!” He whined with a pout.
You didn’t want your Petie to feel left out, you loved him just as much as you loved your daddies of course. You reached out to him now, kicking your little feet with delight as he ran over to the three of you. Now your whole family was together on the couch, and you took turns kissing each of them, and each of them took turns kissing you. You’d already mastered your newest skill, and you couldn’t wait to keep practicing every single day.

summary: sam gets a stuffed animal for reader that frowns like bucky! things get out of hand when the other avengers join in and buy reader way too many grumpy stuffies
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚
It all started when Sam came back from a mission in late June. The Avengers would sometimes bring back presents when they went overseas. They didn’t always have the time to stop by a gift shop but when they did, the gifts were always cherished and held a little closer when the Avenger eventually had to travel again.
Two weeks before his mission, you had gotten very close with Sam. Your daddies asked him to watch over you one day and he gave you a whole adventure. He took you to a pottery painting studio, then the park, and ended the day with the best ice cream you’ve ever had. From then on, you were inseparable.
During group meal times, you’d make jokes with him across the table. If you were allowed in the room for a meeting, you’d pass notes back and forth. Sam would also play with you during Tony’s summer parties; he was going to let you fly with redwing before Bucky marched outside and confined you to his hip for the rest of the night. You didn’t mind too much though, the sky probably wasn’t as comfortable as being held by Baba.
Your attachment to Sam made this mission all the more difficult for everyone involved. You, because you missed your friend. Sam, because he missed your happy giggles and felt bad for leaving you right when he finally gained your trust. And your daddies because they had to witness you get sad every time something reminded you of Sam.
Fortunately, the mission was going well and he was expected to return right on time. On his last day, Sam was looking both ways to cross the street when a stuffed animal in a display window caught his eye. He looked at his watch to see if he had enough time to make his flight, then quickly entered the store and bought the plushie because he knew you’d love it.
On the plane, Sam sat with the plushie in his lap to keep it safe. It was still in the bag from the store, looking like an oddly shaped lump in a now wrinkly paper bag. When Sam returned to the tower, Steve was the first to greet him before you nudged your Dada out of the way to give Sam a bone-crushing hug.
“I missed you, Sammy!”
“I missed you too, peanut.” He kneeled down and handed you the paper bag. “I gotcha something.”
You beamed at him. “Thank you! I love it!”
Sam laughed. “You haven’t even opened it yet!”
“I already know I’m gonna like it because it’s from you,” you said, matter of factly. “But okay.”
You opened the bag and gasped when you saw the plush.
It was a soft turtle with a slightly slouched posture, but that wasn’t the part you were focused on. Your favorite part was the plushie’s grumpy expression. It looked just like Bucky.
“HE HAS BABA FACE! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!” You screamed your gratitude while running circles around the trio of Sam and your daddies. Sam and Steve were barely holding in their laughter, meanwhile Bucky stood confused, but happy that you were happy. Despite his super hearing, he wasn’t sure if he heard you correctly. Did you say baba face? Or maybe you said bubble face?
Bucky figured that this wasn’t something he needed the answers to immediately, so he didn’t ask any questions and resolved to watching you tire yourself out.
The grumpy turtle became your new shadow. Everywhere you went, so did the plush. You’d have it tucked under your arm while running through the compound. During mealtimes in your home, the turtle would get his own chair and toy food. Outside, you kept your turtle in a drawstring backpack with the head poking out so he could see the world too. When your daddies carried you around, you’d make a silly game out of making the turtle mess up your Dada’s hair or bite your Baba’s ears.
Even before giving you the turtle, Sam loved to boast about how he was your favorite Avenger(you didn’t have a favorite, but you didn’t have the heart to correct him on that when he kept giving you all of his attention). When you all played hide and seek, he bragged for three days straight about how you chose him to be your partner. Your attachment to the turtle only heightened his pride.
He always asked you where the turtle was, knowing it couldn’t be more than three feet away from you. Sam made a big fuss about the turtle having his own seat at the dinner table and fell victim to your strength and contagious giggles when you pushed him out of his seat to make room for your turtle. Sam learned his lesson that day and didn’t fight for the turtle to have his own chair in the debriefing room. However, he did bring in an extra stool for the plush. Sam even bought you the very drawstring backpack that allowed you to take your new friend on your outdoor adventures. In private, he’d ask you about how the turtle was settling into his new home and gave him the gentlest kiss when you said the turtle needed more lovin’.
The others all thought your friendship with Sam was adorable, but there was one person who saw this as an opportunity for some friendly competition. Natasha knew that there was room in your heart for more than one avenger bestie, so she devised a plan to take her spot. She had two missions in August–the first: survey a crime group that’s suspected to have ties with Zemo. The second: give you a gift worthy of four days of bragging.
After successful recon, Natasha’s plane landed in the Avenger’s HQ. She turned in her paperwork that she completed on the flight home, then went to freshen up so she could give you your gift. Natasha found you cuddled up with Steve in the movie room watching some old cartoon. She knocked on the door.
“Got any room for a couple more friends on that couch?”
“Natty, you’re back!” You untangled yourself from Steve and ran to give her a hug. You looked behind her expecting to see more of the group. “Where’s the other friends?”
She held up a bag with the arm that wasn’t hugging you. “Your new friend traveled a long way to get here.”
You squealed and hugged Natasha again before accepting the bag from her hand and kneeling on the floor to pull out the tissue paper and free your gift.
“You guys are spoiling them, you know that?” Steve asked, lightheartedly from the couch.
“Oh hush, how many hours of screen time have you given them today?”
Steve opened and closed his mouth a couple times, not expecting the question.
“Doesn’t count if the movies came from your time, right?”
Any response from Steve was cut off by your cheering.
“BABA OCTOPUS!! BABATOPUS!!” you held up the plush proudly like it was Simba. “Dada, look!”
“Oh he’s beautiful, baby.” Steve chuckled at the round, bright red octopus plush with a deep frown on its face. “What do you say to Nat?”
“THANK YOU NAAAT!” you yelled. Excitement flickered across your face once more, then you ran out of the movie room with the octopus securely tucked under your arm.
“Where are you going, baby? And no running indoors!” Steve shouted as he chased after you.
You slowed for a bit, but kept moving at a swift pace. “I hav’ta show Baba my new friend!”
Natasha watched your little race from the movie room with an amused grin on her face. During dinner that night, she enjoyed the shocked look on Sam’s face when you pulled up with two grumpy plushies and pretended to feed the octopus before the turtle.
Sam turned to Natasha. “You have no idea what you’ve just started.”
She smirked. “And you have no idea what you’re getting into.”
Steve leaned over to whisper to Bucky. “We’re gonna need more space in the playroom.”
𓏲 ࣪₊♡
The competition expanded beyond Natasha and Sam. All of the Avengers were determined to find the next grumpy plush to win your heart. There was a penguin from Peter, a frog from Thor, a cat from Tony, and a panda from Wanda. Your collection was starting to get out of control. You desperately wanted to carry all of your plushies everywhere with you to keep things fair, but your daddies put an end to that when you tripped on the sidewalk while trying to push a stroller full of scowling stuffed animals.
Bucky decided to help you create a system so you could fairly pick one plushie from the collection to carry around for the day. He made small slips of paper so you could write down their names and pull one out of a cup each morning. He brought his supplies to you while you were having an afternoon snack at the dining table. His heart broke seeing you with your knees bandaged up and the streaks of dried tears from the fall earlier today still on your face.
“Hi, Baba,” you sniffled.
“Hey, sweetie. What’s going on? You eatin’ your snack?”
“Mhm.”
“Why aren’t you eating at the kitchen island, baby? You always eat your snack there.”
You pouted and gestured to the plushies sitting around you. “I can’t fit all my friends there.”
“Oh I know, bubs. It must be so hard carrying all these guys around, huh?” He mentally scolded himself for leaving you alone during your snack. He should’ve known better than to expect you to stay put when your little friends were trapped inside the stroller. It must’ve taken so long to arrange the plushies around the table with your injury.
You perked up at his next words.
“Baba has something for you.” Bucky spread out the slips of paper on the table and placed a cup next to them. “You can write down the names of all your little friends on these papers and pick one name out of the cup to decide which one you’re walking around with for the day. Does that sound fair?”
You shrugged, “I guess I can do that.” You really would’ve liked a solution that allowed you to bring all of the grumpy plushies with you everywhere, but deep down you knew that it just wasn’t practical. You took the pencil that Bucky held out for you and started writing down your plushies’ names.
Your Baba lovingly kissed the top of your head and rubbed your back while you wrote. He loved watching you focus on a task. He almost didn’t notice what you were writing down.
Bucky squinted then blinked a couple of times, not believing what he saw. “Baby, why are you writing ‘Baba’ on everything?”
You paused and tilted your head back to look at him. “That’s their names. Baba Turtle and Baba Cat and Baba Bear and Baba-”
“Why do you call them that?”
“‘Cause look!” You picked up the grumpy frog sitting next to you and held it out for Bucky to see. “They look like Baba!” You hugged the plushie before setting it back down to continue writing.
Bucky’s heart melted. His sweet, wonderful baby was so attached to these plushies that reminded them of him. His signature scowl that often got him into trouble brought them comfort. His friends even noticed and spoiled his baby rotten with even more of these toys.
Bucky continued watching you work. He looked at the plushies differently now.

Steve and Bucky were cleaning your playroom. Normally this would be your responsibility, but you had gone to bed a little earlier, and they didn’t want you walking too much with your injury. Steve was putting your plushies into their designated bins. He wasn’t harsh with them, but his efficient method of gathering an armful and plopping them down certainly would have raised an eyebrow from you.
“Hey, go easy with turtle me,” Bucky teased.
“Turtle you?” Steve asked.
Bucky nodded proudly, then held the plush up to his face. “Don’t you see the resemblance?”
“Whatever, punk. At least my face isn’t the reason we have a 50 gallon bin of stuffed animals.” Steve turned around and kept cleaning, completely missing the look of excitement on Bucky’s face.
The next day, your Baba volunteered to pick up breakfast while Steve helped you get ready. Bucky stopped by a toy store on his way to the bakery. He’d seen this particular plushie before and knew that this was the perfect moment to get it for you. Not too long later, he was entering your home with bagels in one hand and your new friend in the other.
Bucky hid the plush behind his back when he heard you and Steve walking towards him.
“Hi, Baba!”
“Good morning, baby.” Bucky leaned down to kiss your forehead, then kissed Steve’s cheek as a thanks when he handed off the box of bagels.
You hugged Bucky and couldn’t help but notice that one of his hands wasn’t hugging you back.
“Baba, hug me better,” you whined.
Bucky laughed. “Hang on, I’ve got somethin’ for ya.”
You gasped in excitement and took a step back so you could see. Bucky revealed the plush with a dramatic flourish, then somewhat nervously waited for your reaction. The stuffed animal had you in shock. It was a stuffed giraffe that stood with the most perfect posture. It had spiky hair, blue eyes, and a charming smile. You knew exactly who it was supposed to resemble.
“IT'S DADA!” You squealed and graciously took the plush while running to the kitchen where Steve was. He was already making his way to you when he heard your scream.
“Dada’s right here, bubba. What’s going on?”
You held up the plush while doing a little dance. “Look! It’s a Dada giraffe!”
Steve laughed then ran a hand over his face when he made the connection. You ran off to your playroom, saying something about “finding a Baba for this Dada” while your daddies shared a look.
Bucky brought in Steve for a hug, patting his dumbfounded lover on the back. He playfully whispered in his ear, “We’re gonna need more space in the playroom.”

"Wake up pretty girl, it's time for breakfast" Steve rubs your back as he coaxes you out of slumber. You open your eyes only to shut them right away when the thumping of your head was all you could feel or hear.
"Cmon, let me see those pretty eyes" you slowly open your eyes. "Hi princess" he smiles. You whine as feel the scratchy ache in your throat but he takes it as you not wanting to get up. "Oh baby I know, but I let you sleep late. It's time to get up now." He picks you up and carries you downstairs where Bucky is cooking.
"Good morning doll." Bucky kissed your cheek before continuing cooking. "Someone didn't wanna get out of bed this morning." Steve sat you down at the table and got you some milk. "Still sleepy baby?" Bucky placed a plate of pancakes in front of you. You push the plate away, not wanting to hurt your throat more.
"No ma'am, eat your breakfast." Steve pushes the plate back in front of you. You whine and push it away again. "Do we need to have a little talk about manners?" he raises his eyes expectingly. "Steve calm down, she's sleepy." Bucky pulls your chair closer to his. "I need to try and eat your breakfast baby. It's pancakes, you love pancakes." He reasons. You shake your head. "Why not baby?" You pint to your throat. "What?" You whine again.
"Does your throat hurt angel?" Steve asks and you nod. "Can you stick out your tongue baby?" You do as Bucky asks and stick out your tongue for him to see the strawberry color. Bucky sighs  and looks at Steve. "We should call Bruce." Steve nods and goes to make the call. "And you get go back to bed sweet girl." He picks you up and takes you to his and Steve's room. He lays you down in the bed and covers you up. "You wanna watch a movie?" You nod and he turns on The Lorax.
A few minutes later Bruce comes up and confirms that you have strep. Steve and Bucky do everything in their power to make you comfortable. Steve even makes you homemade chicken noodle soup. They spend the rest of the day cuddling with you and making you feel better.
"Get some rest love. We'll be right here." Steve kisses your forehead.
"We love you doll." Bucky kisses your cheek before you fall asleep in their arms.

A Day With Daddy
dni: k!nk, anti-agere, agepl4y, or ddlg-esque blogs 🍄 this blog is a safe space for age regressors and age dreamers 🍄
Tumblr media
Summary: Little!Reader and CG!Daddy!Bucky have a day of play when Stevie's away 🥰
Request from @juiceboxgothbaby: hey I would really love a CG!stucky Little!reader fix where Steve goes out for a while and reader and Bucky get silly and make a mess and then steve comes home
Relationship: Caregiver Bucky Barnes x Caregiver Steve Rogers x AgeRe Little Reader
Word Count: 1,092
Content Warnings: usage of "daddy" and "dada" (but in a nonsexual context), playing messily and chaotically
Author's Note: hi! thank you for the request! i'm very proud of myself for writing a completed fic. i haven't been able to do so for a long time. reader is completely neutral from what i can tell. there are parts that may seem not body size friendly but i promise my intention was to make it to where you can really feel little as you read! i hope y'all enjoy!
(if there is anything else you believe i should put as a warning or to change to make reader more neutral please let me know! /gen /srs)
"Bye-bye, dada!" you shouted from the front door, waving your hand so fast your wrist ached. It wasn't painful though, and you really wanted to show your dada a whole lotta love as he got into his car. He wanted to spend the day with you, he told you himself. However, Tony Stank called your dada away. But that was okay because you knew he needed to do "saving the world" stuff.
Steve opened the door to his black pickup truck, placing one foot on the step and turning to face you. "I'll be back in no time, kiddo." He smiled. "Be good for daddy."
"I will!" Your eyes squinted from how wide you grinned.
Your dada sat in the driver's seat, waving once more before pulling out the driveway. You watched as he drove away, and continued to watch even more despite him already being out of your sight. Being away from your dada left a pain in your heart. You still had Bucky though, your daddy, to watch over you and keep you company.
Bucky walked closer to the front door, observing you still standing at the door frame, looking out where your dada once was.
"He'll be back, pumpkin. Dada always comes back."
You whined, jutting out your bottom lip in a pout.
Bucky never took that to heart. He knew you loved hanging out with him just as much as you loved being with your Stevie. But that didn't mean you still wouldn't feel a sting in your adorable, loving heart.
Luckily, your Daddy knew just what to do.
"Little one," You turned to face Bucky. "I got these new paints, and I've been dying to try them out. Do you want to join Daddy?"
You gasped and smiled brightly. "Yes, yes, yes!"
Your daddy adoringly laughed at your joy. He knew it would work.
"Let's go, let's go, let's go, Daddy, c'mon!" you dragged him to the living room.
"Alrighty, cutie patootie, I'm coming."
Your caregivers shared a bunch of similarities. It made sense considering how long they've known each other and how well they bonded closely. The only difference between your dada and daddy you've ever been able to notice is their strictness. Daddy does things before thinking. His worry is focused on you having fun and having a good time. At the end of it, he'll concern himself with the mess and make sure little and big you didn't feel bad in the slightest. He always makes sure you knew it was absolutely okay because you had fun and that was his most important rule.
Your dada is a different story. Of course, he wants you to have fun and enjoy being little, but he also believed rules and structure were something that you needed and could highly benefit from. No punishments are given, but he makes sure little you is disciplined in a way that'll help you grow. He sets your bedtimes, ensures you eat healthily, makes sure your activities are safe, amongst other things.
So, when caregiving you together, Bucky and Steve are able to balance each other. But, when they're seperate (especially when Bucky is alone with little you) things become...well, interesting.
Your favorite kid safe song played on loop in the living room, blasting so loud your next door neighbors could probably hear it word for word. You and your daddy had jumped on the couch, on the beds, and danced on the floors. The only thing he didn't let you do was jump off the dining table. But your pout was quickly gone when he explained that he didn't want his precious little one to get hurt. He compromised by picking you up, spinning you around, and having you "fly" around the house in his arms like a superhero.
"Look at you go, my little avenger! We're recruiting you know... you'd be the cutest, adorablest, most powerful avenger there ever was!"
Silly string was sprayed all over the wall, the couches, the floor, and especially in one corner of your playroom, where you tried to make a spider web. Unfortunately, it crumbled and held barely any weight at all. You decided you'd have to FaceTime Peter Parker at some point to assist you in perfecting the art of web building.
Your utmost favorite part of the day was the humongous painting you did on the fence of your backyard.
Daddy had cheered you on and complimented you the entire time.
"Good job, my little Vincent Van Gogh!"
"Wow! How did I get so lucky to have the most talented baby in the whole wide world? No, universe. The best baby in the whole universe!"
"I'm gonna have to call Tony. I got the smartest little doll on my hands."
By the time it was seven o clock, you started getting worn down and a bit hungry.
"Daddy, can I has some nuggies?" you asked while yawning, leaning your head on the dining table.
Bucky patted your head. "Of course, bubba."
You ate about half the nuggies when your eyes started drooping and feeling very, very heavy.
Your daddy noticed this and set down the fork he held that still had a small piece of chicken nugget on it.
He picked you up, letting your head rest on his shoulder and your arms wrap around his neck. Your daddy carried you to your room and set you down on the bed. He grabbed clean pairs of comfy clothes to help you change into before tucking you into bed and kissing your forehead.
"Sweet dreams, my little one." He handed you your best friend stuffie that you quickly grabbed and hugged close to your chest. Not even a second later, you drifted off into dreamland.
Bucky cleaned up every single piece of silly string, organized your toys and art utensils, and wiped down all of the surfaces in record time.
He felt like he was in the clear. I mean, there was no piece of chaoticness left from their adventurous day.
That was, until Steve walked into the living room holding up a single leftover strand of silly string, placing his other hand on his hip.
"Do I even want to know what you guys did today?"
"No." Bucky smiled. "It would stress you out just to hear it."
"New rule for the house... Silly String is outside play only." Steve let out a breathy laugh as he threw away the stranded piece of silly string. You had fun, and that's all that mattered.

It is so damn cute watching the other littlest look after the little baby reader.
Like the one with the football game. How little Peter looks after her. That was adorable!!! I couldn’t stop smiling.
I do like how they regress to a younger age.
Would love to see more little baby reader with more cute scenes with her daddies but also the other littles and caretakers.
Headphones put on her when it gets loud. Maybe at a gala and telling a loud douche to be quiet. (Badarse scary protective mom Nat).
Please please would you write more protective badarse stucky.
How would all the avengers especially stucky and maybe even the other littlest react if the baby reader was taken? After all the others are littles but still heroes while baby doesn’t have any powers (or does she) ;) 😂. Seriously though imagine the littles all finding out baby has been taken and then the door where the others are opens and the littles are no long littles but pissed off Loki. Scarlett witch , Spider-Man etc.
So sorry for writing so much. Just really love your fics. Can’t wait for any more you write. I hope you have a lovely day 🌸
Ohmygosh, this is so sweet, please don't apologize! I love hearing what people like about Their Girl 🥰🥰
I don't usually do requests, but your ideas are great and I got a little inspired ❤️

Warnings: brief swearing, crybaby reader (as always), sfw age regression
In the early days, you never left the compound; your daddies were protective. They didn't want anything bad to happen to you- or for you to run into someone who might recognize you; that could be just as damaging to all the work they'd done to make you happy.
But eventually, as trust built, they started taking you out in public. First the zoo, like they'd promised, and then other places. Soon, you were allowed to tag along when they went grocery shopping and trips to the park become normal. You even had a special day at the mall with Steve.
You trusted all of the adults to keep you safe while out and about; you remembered one of Tony's fancy parties where a man had drank so much that he was shouting, despite the soft music and low hum of chatter in the room. Bucky had only agreed to bring you to that party because Tony promised it would be quiet. But the man was determined to be heard by the pretty girl he was talking to, though she didn't seem to want to talk to him.
You knew your daddies were close by, so you tried to be brave, politely tugging on his jacket and asking him to use his inside voice. But the girl saw her opportunity to leave, disappearing while his back was turned and then he got annoyed.
"Who brought a fuckin' kid to this party?" he called out to the room, making you shrivel beneath all the attention he was drawing. "Honestly, can't a guy even get laid-"
It wasn't Bucky, or even Steve, who marched over and put themselves between the two of you, it was Natasha. "You need to tone it down."
The man had smirked, giving her an obvious look up and down, "That's not the only thing that could stand to go down." He clearly thought himself quite smooth.
When she didn't fall down at his feet, he added, "Why? This yours?" He tipped his chin derisively at you, scorn plain in his tone. You winced; you didn't understand why he was being so mean, but you knew he was.
"She's not the problem here." You knew Natasha's warning voice well enough to recognize it, but this man was either too drunk, too stupid, or too distracted by her pretty face to notice.
"She's a problem for me." He reached in your direction, like he was going to push you away, drawing a resigned sigh from Nat.
Natasha caught his arm, twisting it to a funny angle and making the man cry out, "Then I guess I'm your problem too."
By then, Steve had noticed, steering you away and shielding you from the ruckus, but you peeked out just in time to see Nat take the man down, not even mussing her hair. Steve stayed close for the rest of the night, thinking you were traumatized, but you were really in awe of Natasha. Looking at your daddies, it was obvious they could protect you. But Natasha was much tougher than she looked and she hadn't hesitated to step in to keep you safe.
You had murmured a shy thank you to her later in the evening, to which she smiled, "Of course, dovey. We take care of our kids, don't we?" She'd kissed your forehead and you realized that you were part of their family; they would all take care of you, just like they did their own babies.
The adults had collectively decided that taking more than one baby out at a time warranted at least two caregivers. They weren't taking risks with such precious cargo after all.
Generally, things went smoothly. Surprisingly, Loki was the one who tended to get into trouble when out and about, but you were still very grateful to be allowed; you weren't about to rock the boat now. Not that good intentions would keep you out of trouble.
You hadn't meant to wander off in the store, but it wasn't like you went out often- you'd forgotten how easy it was to get swept up in the crowd. Especially with Thor and Tony as chaperones; Thor's supervision wasn't quite as comprehensive as many of the others and Tony tended to get distracted by Peter. It wasn't until you were shuffled away from the group, distracted by the pretty backpacks on display, that you realized they were gone.
Looking up from a sequined one you'd been admiring, you realized you were all alone. You'd always heard that you should stay put when you were lost, but that seemed kind of silly. After all, you knew you'd been with the group back by the clothing, so you shouldered the backpack you wanted and made your way back there.
But there was no sign of any of them. And now you were a little scared; when was the last time you were alone outside the compound? Just asking yourself the question unearthed the faint memory of your nightmares, which hadn't plagued you for quite a while now.
With a whimper, you climbed inside the clothing rack; it was stuffed full and provided excellent cover for someone who didn't want to get grabbed by a stranger. You camped out among the clothes for a few minutes- only long enough to realize that if someone had come back to look for you, they wouldn't know you were here. So you cautiously climbed out, keeping an eye out for any kidnappers.
You waited again, but what if they'd come to check for you while you were hiding? You might have missed them. Or what if they hadn't even noticed you were gone? What if they left without you?
You knew you shouldn't go out in the parking lot alone; you were supposed to hold someone's hand. You weren't even sure you remembered where the van was parked. But the little voice in your head insisted that if you weren't by the car when they came out, they would leave you behind.
Looking carefully both ways, you took a step into the lot, but you were quickly pulled back, an unfamiliar voice barking, "Where do you think you're going?"
Wheeling around, you were gazing at a grumpy-looking security guard whose badge read "Bennett." Locating your voice, however muted, you answered, "I got lost."
"Mm. And I take it you were going to pay for that bag too?" He didn't sound particularly accommodating.
"I don't have any money, but-"
"I thought so," he grunted. "Come with me."
Far be it from you to argue with a security guard; your daddies had told you to be wary of strangers, but there were no other grown ups around. So you tearfully followed Officer Bennett back inside and through a set of double doors. Behind those, everything was gray and dirty- it wasn't pretty like the rest of the store. But he kept walking, towing you firmly by the arm until you were in a tiny security office.
Entranced by the wall of TVs, you forgot you were in trouble until he snapped his fingers, "Sit down." You dropped into the chair against the wall.
He stood while you sat, hands planted on his hips, looking down his nose at you; he thought you were a thief. But nothing you said made a difference; he had an answer to everything, a way you could have been lying. He started asking for your information: your name, your birthday, where you lived. But you knew you weren't supposed to tell him those. So you told him that.
"I'm not supposed to talk to strangers."
His face twisted into a mocking sneer, "You've got to be kidding me."
Missing the sarcasm, you shook your head earnestly, "I promise I wasn't tryin' to steal-"
"I don't want to hear it. Unless you're going to tell me your name, I don't want to hear a peep out of you."
Intimidated by his bad attitude and his badge, you went quiet. You sat in the uncomfy, wooden chair, kicking your feet and watching the security cameras. You were compliantly quiet, at least until you saw a familiar face on one of the many screens. "Wanda!"
"That your name?"
"No, but-"
"Don't care then."
"But-"
"Shut up."
Surprised, you replied again, voice thick, "That's mean."
"Don't care." He turned back to his computer, making a pointed effort to ignore your sniffles and hiccups as they became more and more pronounced.
You debated about running away, but you weren't super like everyone else; you couldn't do anything. The small amount of relief granted by the knowledge that they hadn't left you behind- at least, not yet- didn't comfort you in the face of utter helplessness.
You tried to stay quiet while you cried, finding Wanda on the cameras again. You could at least keep an eye on her. Wanda looked right into the camera and you wanted to believe that she saw you, but you knew that wasn't how cameras worked. You watched her lean over and mutter something to Peter, who, in turn, whispered something in Loki's ear. You couldn't see Tony or Thor on the screen anywhere.
You did a quick scan of the other monitors for the grown ups and when you returned to Wanda's, she was gone and so were the others. You'd lost them.
You tried to swallow the lump in your throat before speaking, "What's gonna happen to me?"
"Don't know."
"Am I goin' to jail?" Would Steve and Bucky be able to find you if you got arrested?
"Maybe." He sounded like he was entertaining the idea.
That prompted you to cry in earnest- you didn't want to go to jail. You could usually admit when you'd done something wrong, but everything that had happened today was an accident. You were a good girl.
Your internal monologue cut short at a knock on the door. With a heavy grunt, Officer Bennett heaved himself out of his chair and opened it, positioning himself between you and the other side, so you couldn't see past him. Whatever he saw on the other side gave him pause, then he slipped through the gap in the door and closed it behind him.
You were alone in the security office. And Officer Bennett had left his cell phone on the desk.
You scrambled over and were amazed that he didn't have a passcode on it. You remembered Steve complaining about how tedious it was to change that setting. Figuring it was an old man thing, you thanked your lucky stars and managed to open a text chat.
It had been a long time since you used a cell phone for anything other than games or taking pictures and even those typically had Steve or Bucky over your shoulder, telling you what to do. The last time you'd owned a cell phone, holo-screen tech didn't even exist.
You did, however, know your daddies' phone numbers by heart. They were now well versed in positive reinforcement. So you'd gotten a canopy for your bed in return for reeling off their phone numbers without any mistakes after weeks of practice and positive encouragement.
You dialed those numbers with shaky fingers, glancing over your shoulder to make sure the door was still closed. You weren't good at texting, though you dimly remembered being good at it once.
You typed out, "Help." "Scared." You wanted to type "officer," but you couldn't spell it, so you backpedaled, breaths coming faster as fear of being caught settled over your shoulders. You typed the name of the store instead and sent it, even though you knew you'd spelled it wrong.
And then you remembered to send your name as the doorknob rattled, so you only typed half and hit send before tossing the phone back down on the desk and getting back in your chair. You were barely seated when the door opened and an irritated-looking Officer Bennett shuffled back in, still carefully blocking your view. Once the door was closed, he clicked the lock.
He turned around to sit back down and noticed his phone- not even close to where he left it. Slowly turning his head to face you, he asked low, "Did you-"
You were trembling in your seat, but he cut off sharply, head turning to stare at the doorknob, which had started glowing with odd, red light. You were close enough that you could hear the faint clicking of metal on metal.
He looked at you, "What are you doing?" His face paled further as an eerie green glow seemed to seep in through the cracks around the door, "S-stop!"
He shrieked and you ducked your head as the door burst open and hit the wall with a crash. You suspected it had cracked the cement wall behind it.
Tentatively peeking out from under your hands, you squinted at the dust that had come loose at the impact floating through the air. Then Loki stumbled inside, closely followed by Peter and Wanda.
Loki ignored the terrified Officer Bennett, straightening indignantly, "Don't push."
Wanda rolled her eyes, "You were the one who had to be first." She smirked at him, "Feels good to save the day, doesn't it?"
"Why don't you-"
"Guys?" You finally found your voice, though it was still thin and trembling.
"We came to save you," Peter piped up.
"By the gods, what you have you three done?" Thor's voice echoed over Wanda's shoulder, just out of your sight.
Then Tony's voice, "It's bad enough I have to pay these insurance premiums when there's a crisis, now I can't even do my shopping without something getting broken?" You couldn't tell if he was serious or joking.
Tony ushered the others out, extending an arm to you, still in your seat, "C'mon kid, let me sort this out." You hesitantly stood, waiting for the guard to stop you, but it seemed like Officer Bennett was in shock because only Tony spoke, "That's it, come on. Let's get you out of there."
He steered you out of the office and back into the main store with Thor, who hoisted you off the ground and onto his hip, "Trouble always seems to find you, doesn't it, little one?"
You stared at him, suddenly nervous, "Am I in trouble?"
"No, you aren't in trouble. Don't worry, the grown ups are handling it."
Ten minutes later, you were all back in the car. Your backpack had been paid for and was in the trunk with the other bags. Your carseat was in the back row, as Peter's occupied the middle. Loki was in the backseat with you and Wanda in the middle with Peter.
You kept your voice low, hoping Tony and Thor wouldn't hear over the classic rock playing on the radio, "Thanks for saving me." You left a pause before admitting, "I was really scared."
Wanda surprised you by rolling her eyes, "Of course we would never let anyone take you away. You're our friend."
"We love you, pretty girl," Peter added, the only one who was very free with that particular word.
You glanced at Loki, who looked almost guilty, giving you a reluctant nod, his cheeks flushed silver.
You smiled and nodded, settling back into your seat and contemplating a nap. But Tony pulled off the highway early, stopping at a little diner. You were allowed to unbuckle yourself, so you climbed out of the van with the others, staying close by while Tony got Peter out too.
"Uncle Tony, are we having dinner?" Wanda chirped.
"I was thinking about it, but if you guys aren't hungry-"
Wanda took the bait, "I am! But what about Mommy?"
"You can bring something back for her, sound fair?"
You tugged on Tony's sleeve, "Me too?"
"You want to bring something back to Natasha?"
"Uh-uh, for my daddies."
"No need, squirt." He pointed behind you and you saw Steve and Bucky coming up the sidewalk from Steve's car parked a few spaces down.
"Papa!" You took care to get on the sidewalk before running over to them and jumping into Steve; you weren’t taking any chances on getting in trouble for running in a parking lot. But you hadn't realized how badly you needed to see them after something like that until they were there to make it better. You were safe with your friends, but things were better with your daddies around.
Steve held you like he'd had a scary afternoon too, pressing a frantic kiss to your forehead and holding your head tightly into the crook of his neck while he hugged you, "My sweet girl, are you alright?"
You nodded, "It was scary, but Wanda and Peter and Loki saved me."
Steve buried another kiss in your cheek, "Lucky for that security guard they did, or he would've had to deal with me-"
"Steve, it's done. Tony handled it," Bucky reminded him.
Steve grunted his understanding, a sure sign he disagreed but couldn't be bothered to argue; he had his baby back now.
Bucky leaned in to kiss your forehead too, "Let's get you something to eat, hm? Being a felon is hungry work- I'd know."
Steve rolled his eyes and Bucky grinned. Peter chimed in, reminding the three of you that everyone else was waiting, "We can get lots of food, my daddy is paying."
Thor cheered, which prompted Wanda and Peter to copy him, drawing a laugh from Steve.
"You know Pete, I'm starting to think you're only here for my money."
Peter's indignant reply was the beginning of another tangent, leading to more teasing and more laughter. And as you sat in a too-small booth, sitting on Steve's lap and blowing straw wrappers at Wanda and Loki, you realized that your bad day, as with all the bad days that had come before it, wasn't worth remembering because you were the happiest you could ever remember being.

You wiggled your little butt in your chair, sighing happily. The delicious taste of Papa’s mac and cheese lingered on your tongue, washing away the icky broccoli he’d made you eat too. You had eaten all your veggies, your eyes flicking to both your daddies to see if they’d noticed. All veggies gone meant cookies!
“Atta girl,” Bucky said, reaching over to gather your plate and giving you a kiss on the cheek. “You ate all your broccoli without complaining. I’m proud of you.”
“Tank you! Cookies pwease!”
They both chuckled at that. “You’ll get your cookies later, princess, I promise,” Papa said, leaning back as Daddy took his plate too. They exchanged a brief glance that you missed in your delighted wiggling before Bucky took the dirty dishes to the kitchen sink.
Steve leaned forward, his elbows on the table and his hands folded. “Okay, princess, we’re going to change up the routine a bit tonight,” he said to you, watching you carefully for your reaction. You stopped your wiggling and tilted your head to him, curious as to what he meant by that. “We’re going to go take a bath now, okay?”
“Is bedtime?” you asked, suddenly nervous. Baths always came right before bedtime and bedtime was terrible (in your little mind, anyway). Steve shook his head, then looked quickly over at Bucky, who was hustling to load the dishwasher, before focusing back on you.
“No, not bedtime yet, it’s too early,” Steve reassured you, smiling when you sagged in relief. “But Daddy and I are going to give you your bath now, then afterwards you can pick out a movie to watch and we can have cookies. Does that sound good?”
“Yeah! Is good!” you cheered, not clueing in to the look they exchanged again. “I wove cookies,” you said smugly, very happy with how this evening was panning out.
“Yeah, we know you do, Trouble,” Bucky teased over his shoulder, before drying his hands and coming back to the table. “So be a good girl during bath time tonight and you can have all the cookies you want, okay?”
“Well, now, I don’t know about ALL the-” Steve began, but you interrupted him with a loud scream of delight.
“I WILL BE SO GOOD! YAAAAAAY!!!”
“Hey, hey, inside voice please,” Steve gently reprimanded, reaching out towards you across the table. You stopped the joyful yelling but kept the butt wiggles, eager for bath time to get going. Steve chuckled and came to get you. You squealed in delight as he lifted you onto his hip. You were halfway to the bathroom before you realized Bucky was right behind the two of you.
“Daddy, you gonna take a baf too?” you asked.
“I’m gonna help Papa give you a bath, Little Bit,” he said, reaching out to boop you on the nose. You giggled a bit, but something was off. Usually one or the other of them gave you a bath- they were both big super soldiers and took up a lot of space, so having all three of you in the bathroom at once was usually not a thing. Unless...
Your gaze suddenly swung to Steve, who noticeably picked up his pace. “Papa, we gonna take baf?” you asked anxiously, worried that something was afoot. He didn’t answer you until all three of you were in the bathroom, and Bucky closed the door, standing in front of it. Your eyes widened in horror. No...it wasn’t time....it couldn’t be time to do it again....
“We also need to trim your nails, baby,” Steve said softly.
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
You began wiggling with all your might, but you were held fast in the arms of Captain America. You might as well have been trying to move a tanker by leaning against it. You flailed, trying to escape, but it was useless. “I don’t wike it!! I don’t wike it!!” you yowled, twisting madly as Steve tried to lean his face away to escape getting clocked like last time.
You HATED getting your nails trimmed. Didn’t matter that neither Steve nor Bucky had ever hurt you doing it, didn’t matter that your nails were accidentally scratching you on the daily now. Every time it happened, it made you feel as if your teeth were being peeled. You hated the sensation and would do anything to avoid it.
Bucky stepped forward, gently wrapping his arms around both you and Steve, creating another barrier between you and your freedom by pressing you in between them. When you couldn’t even wiggle anymore, you resorted to your overly theatrical wailing, slamming your head into Steve’s shoulder in despair.
“It’s okay baby girl, it’s okay,” Bucky whispered in your ear. “We’re gonna try something new that will help, okay?”
“Don’t wanna!”
“I know you don’t, precious, but we have to,” Steve murmured, pressing his cheek to the top of your head. “We can’t have you getting hurt with your scratchy nails, can we? You’ve got claws like a kitty cat and you’re getting all scratched up.”
“I like kitty cats! Am Katie Cat!”
“We know you are- you’re our special little Katie Cat,” Bucky said, stroking your cheek. “But you’re not a kitty. You’re our little girl and we can’t let our little girl keep getting hurt.”
“Not hurt!”
“Yes you are, that scratch on your arm hurts, doesn’t it?” You growled something unintelligible, unwilling to lie and say that it didn’t hurt. You knew how they felt about lying and after all, it did sting. “And Papa and I want to try something new for you that we think can help. Will you let us do that? Please?”
You turned your teary face just enough to peek at Bucky with one eye. “Wha you do?” you asked, before sniffing mightily. Bucky reached under the sink as you tensed up in Steve’s grip- quite an accomplishment seeing as you were already tense. Bucky came back up with a soft, yellow, fuzzy blanket. Despite your nerves, you perked up a bit. It was pretty and anything that was pretty immediately had your interest.
Daddy held out a corner of the blanket to you, and Papa released his grip just enough to let your little hand reach out. It was so fuzzy and soft...and heavy. “It’s a weighted blanket,” Daddy explained, taking another small handful and rubbing it along your hand so you could feel the smooth texture. “How about we wrap you in the blanket, all nice and cozy, and Papa snuggles you real good? Huh? I’ll go real fast and it’ll be over before you know it. What do you think, baby bear?”
You looked back at Bucky, then at Steve. You let out an exhausted whimper and pressed your face into Steve’s shoulder again. He immediately began rubbing your back. “it’ll be over so soon, princess, then we can watch movies and eat cookies. And you can snuggle in your new blanket. Okay?”
“Don’ wike it, Papa.”
“I know, baby, I know. Your new blanket will help and I will hold on to you the whole time. Are you ready?”
Knowing that there was no way you were getting out of it, you sighed heavily and over-dramatically, hoping it would at least get you a few more cookies after having to endure this torture. “Fast, pwease,” you whispered to Bucky, before turning your face back into Steve’s neck.
Steve rubbed your back consolingly as he sat down on the closed lid of the toilet. He quickly stood you in front of him and Bucky wasted no time draping the warm, sunshiney, weighted blanket around you. Before you could even whimper at what was happening, you were cocooned in the deliciously soft yellow blanket and back on Steve’s lap.
But your eyes never left Bucky. He was getting out the little trimmers, moving quickly but gently so as not to scare you even more. He knelt in front of you and Steve, holding out his vibranium hand to you. It was almost too much, having to give your hand over so he could...you didn’t even want to think about it. “It’s okay, baby bear,” Bucky said soothingly. “Daddy’s not gonna hurt you. Let me have your hand, please.”
It took everything you had in you to extract your hand from the safety of the blanket and peep it out just enough for Bucky to see. He smiled warmly. “That’s my girl, being so brave,” he said encouragingly. He took your hand in his vibranium one. They had learned that even if you were trying your hardest to be good, you would sometimes twitch and jerk away when you felt the clippers. So Bucky used his vibranium hand to hold yours, in a non-painful but still vicelike grip. You squeezed your eyes shut and turned your head into Steve’s chest when you saw him bring the clippers up to your hand.
“Doing so good, bunny,” Steve whispered, keeping his warm, safe arms around you. You were trying as hard as you could, but everything inside of you was telling you to wiggle out of his arms and run away. A tear escaped your eye and you sniffed as you felt the clippers do their work. It didn’t hurt- Bucky never ever hurt you- but you still just absolutely hated it. “See? One hand down. I’m so proud of you, baby,” Steve said, kissing the side of your head as Bucky let your hand go.
“All done,” you tried to declare, yanking your now trimmed nails back into the safety of the blanket. “All done, Daddy. All done. We done.” Maybe if you said it enough, they’d believe you?
“Not quite done, angel,” Bucky said, trying to smother his smile at your attempts to get out of this. “But you’re doing really good. What kind of bath bomb do you want after this?” he asked nonchalantely, as his hand slipped into the blanket to find your other one.
“Um...” you said, distracted when you felt him find your untrimmed fingers. He kept talking, trying to get you to focus on him.
“We got a pink unicorn one, and we have a purple one that smells like grapes, and we have the blue one...”
“Um...blue and pink one?”
“Stevie, we have a blue and pink one, don’t we?”
“We sure do.”
“Would you like the blue and pink one, baby?”
“Yes, pwease.”
“Okay, blue and pink it is. And guess what? Hands are all done,” Bucky said proudly, letting your other hand go. You looked at your now trimmed nails in wonder as Bucky smiled smugly at Steve, proud of himself that you had barely noticed his ministrations while you’d been thinking about bath bombs. Steve winked at him. “We’re almost done, kiddo, you’re doing so good,” Bucky said. He chuckled as he reached for your feet. “You look so cute wrapped up in your fuzzy blanket. Do you like it?”
“Um...yeah,” you said hesitantly, rubbing your cheek on the soft material.
“You look like a fuzzy little duck,” Bucky teased, trying to work fast so you wouldn’t notice. You giggled a bit, but then Steve came up with the real winner.
“With you all wrapped up in this blanket, you look like a Baby Burrito,” Steve said, hugging you a bit tighter and nuzzling your cheek. That made you explode into laughter- something neither of them had ever heard from you while going through the hell of trimming your nails.
“Baby Burrito!! I a Baby Burrito!!” you squealed before laughing again. It sounded so funny! You kept repeating it over and over. Papa joined in your laughter, and Daddy took the opportunity to race through your last couple trimmings while you were so thoroughly distracted. “Daddy?”
“Hm?”
“Can I be a burrito in your army?”
“Of course you can.”
“I Private Baby Burrito!”
That made all three of you laugh uproariously. Before you knew it, Papa was starting to unwind you from your new burrito wrappings. Alarmed and suddenly anxious again, you snatched it back and flung it around yourself. “No! I a burrito!” you said, trembling when you remembered what was happening.
Papa smiled indulgently at you. “You can be a Baby Burrito again after your bath. Don’t you want your pink and blue bath bomb now?” Your head whipped around to find Bucky sitting crisscross applesauce in front of you, grinning to beat the band. He held up his empty hands- the clippers had disappeared.
“You’re all done, Private,” Bucky said, enjoying the moment. “Time for bath and then movie and cookies.” You looked back at Steve in astonishment for confirmation. He smiled at you too. You couldn’t believe it. You were done? And you....had laughed during it? It was over? You sagged in relief against Steve’s chest.
“I WOVE being a burrito,” you mumbled in your bliss. Steve and Bucky laughed again and quickly got to work on bath time. A little while later you were in the living room, having drug your new favorite burrito-blanket out with you and wrapping yourself in it so snuggly that Bucky had to pick you up and put you on the couch between them as you couldn’t move. You managed to pull your hands free when the cookies came out, though. Ah, this was the life.
