I really want to write the side story, conspicuously missing from canon, about Urabrask speaking with Elspeth.

Gala Greeters is a promotional card obtained through purchase of the Streets of New Capenna booster box.
For this series, Magic the Gathering commissioned artists to develop unique region-specific pieces that celebrated a unique festival, season or style.
From the Berlin cabaret to Carnaval, the results are nothing but stunning.

Commanders of New Capenna
Another weekend, another brand-new release from me. This time it’s back to the schedule as normal, with the results of last month’s Monster Popularity Contest (a monthly patreon poll where supporters vote to see their favorite monsters, NPCs, and other enemies come to life.) These five friendly mugs are the face commanders from the commander decks released alongside Streets of New Cappena. Each one serves a different family, and plays a different role in the glamorous politics of this 30′s-themed fantasy setting.
If you’d like early access to more content like this, the ability to vote in polls like the one mentioned above, and other patron-exclusive releases like monthly subclasses and more, you can sign up to support me for as little as $2/month!

Nothing ticks me off more than Elspeth being able to read the letter that Xander left her at the end of the New Capenna stories. Like, have you SEEN their writing system? That's some chicken scratch shit! There's no way in hell that Elspeth or Vivien would be able to understand what any of the letters were!

You know, Streets of New Capenna was the first set that I started collecting cards for when I got back into magic after a decade long hiatus and I was absolutely ravenous for the aesthetic. I was a freak for these Three Piece Suited Paladins and Catgirl Jewel Thieves. But then I actually read the stories and promotional material and I was thoroughly not impressed.
So what's a girl to do? Find something else to hyperfixate on? I could do that ORRRRR I could imagine an edgy grittier version of New Capenna that revolves around themes I find fascinating and imagery I find evocative in relation to old school Americana.
Yeah, I think I'm gonna do that second thing, and also I'll be making this a thread.
