This. Is my pride and joy. A gift for my dad, who played Zork with me when I was a kid, and with his dad when he was a kid. I designed this pattern myself and had a great time puzzling out how to hide the glow in the dark letters!
Buy the pattern here!
Pattern: “West of House” by me Fabric: 2x1 on 18ct Blue-Grey Aida Started: 11/27/2021 Finished: 12/25/2021

Ta dah! Not only did I finish the stitching on this cute bookmark, I actually fully finished it with some red felt on the back and now it lives happily in the embroidery murder mystery book I'm reading with my friend!

I'm making a giant map of Middle Earth with Cross Stitch! It's 14 count and should be 32x24 inches when completed. I drafted it using Pic2Pat, and there are 25 colors, 24 pages, and I'm 23% complete.
If you have any question/stuff to say/whatever, say hi! I miss the r/crossstitch community.

Happy late pride 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
I unfortunately did not finish in time for pride month, I spent 3 weeks working on this
It's probably my biggest cross stitch project so far, and my first time working on black aida, and I really like it 🫶
Although... I made some mistakes and my first attempt at framing something in the hoop didn't go too well
Pattern is my own =]

okay question bc google isnt helping me: cross stitch ppl, is there anywhere to get stuff like. not full patterns, but design elements to make your own patterns? are there any websites or books i can buy that are just like. okay heres a bunch of lil florishes to add to your pattern, heres a bunch of itty bitty flower designs, heres some nice ways to make a teensy lil cat that actually looks like a cat, different borders, stuff like that. or do the programs everyone uses sometimes come with some of this stuff built in? im mostly finding full patterns.
I'm able to find FONTS and stuff pretty easily of course, but. idk if everyone just makes up their own design elements on the fly or if theres somewhere i can go lol
alternatively is there just a Magic Google Word im missing thatll make these things come up
EDIT: check the notes for a lotta good suggestions!

My next project on my sewing list. Two-tone corduroy slacks in black and fuchsia. Still haven't decided if that's how the waistband is going to go, but otherwise, this is close to what I want.

Shout out to the Japanese website that has dozens of 'traditional' sewing patterns completely free of charge for enabling this. First haori I've made, completely stitched by hand.
The collar was difficult but I think I know how to better handle it next time. This will be an exellent summer garment, though. I just need to make a good 'belt' for this.

One of my favorite patterns I've ever done, but working on this fabric was a nightmare 😅 It was my first linen and I think it was just slightly too loose of a weave. But I'm so glad I pushed through and it's so amazing finished! I made the shiny gyarados and magikarp in etoile so they're actually shiny!
Pattern: “Pokémon Great Wave” from XStitchCollective on Etsy, based on art by Missypena Fabric: 2x2 on 36ct PTP Dapple Linen Started: 2/16/2020 Finished: 4/7/2023

This is the Rainbow Love Biscornu by FireplaceHobby on Etsy, I stitched this up within one month early on this year. It's my first biscornu so of course as a raging queer I had to do something with rainbows on! I rummaged through my buttons to find the perfect one and came across this lone square button and thought it was perfect for a cross stitch project, don't you think? This little baby gets a lot of use, always full of needles and pins, I plan on making some more biscornus and pin cushions at some point, there's so many wonderful patterns out there! I think I'd like to make a blackwork one next.

I am proud of myself because I have completed another page from this Middle Earth Map project! According to Pattern Keeper, I am 26.4% complete. I've also have been working on this for over 900 days (so like 8 more years to go?), but I also have taken breaks for other projects. At some point I need to post what I made for Christmas presents and get back to making clothing for the Legolas doll.
Close ups, progress gif, and more below!

Here is the full back of the piece. I still think that it's turning out pretty neat!
Tumblr media
Here's the front of the latest page. I can never read any of the 3-4 stitch tall words during the close up or while I'm working on it, but I can from the zoomed out photo. It's crazy.
Tumblr media
You need to see a close up of the back too, right? I can tell that I've gotten a little messier since the first page (top left corner), but it's still pretty neat overall!
Tumblr media
And of course, a cool progress gif to finish us off! I definitely forgot to take a few progress pics this time around, but I still think it's pretty cool!

I didn't have quite the right colours for the lesbian flag, maybe I'll remake this someday with DMC threads, but I'm still really happy with this =] Pattern by @cinimuffin!
