Honestly, if the Descur line wasn't cursed, Ruvlin and Hannah would be so miserable. Gamora would have absolutely kept an eye on the caverns waiting for the next generation to be hatched. Hannah probably would have been spared/flown under the radar bc Gamora wouldn't expect to have a second descendant, but Ruvlin?

She would have raised him herself to be the "perfect" fleet soldier. He would have it drilled into him how much weight their bloodline carries and be expected to rise through the ranks just like her. He definitely would not have been allowed to have any quads below blue (so no Hibané or Forsic), and he would have no say in his career path. He will be an officer of exceptional rank to rival her own, and that's final.

If she did learn about Hannah, she would have a little more leeway with them since she already has Ruvlin to fill her shoes. Gamora wouldn't put quite as much pressure on them as she would Ruvlin bc she would see them as less important. She would pressure allow them to pursue a career as a fleet doctor after noticing they have a knack for it, and their drive to help others in addition to Gamora's constant demands encouragement and support would push them exceptionally far. They absolutely would not be allowed to be anonymous, though. Anonymity is for mutants, rebels, and cowards. NOT IN HER BLOODLINE! Also, no dating below blue.

Ruvlin unfortunately would have a lot of resentment towards them bc Why Do You Get A Break And I Don't? Why Doesn't She Micromanage Every Facet Of Your Life Too? Why Were You Allowed To Choose Your Own Career Path Doing Something You Like But I Wasn't? Meanwhile Hannah is actually a walking anxiety ball bc Gamora puts a tremendous amount of pressure on them to be Perfect And Never Make Mistakes. They're not allowed to get anything wrong or otherwise potentially make her look bad. They love their career field, but BY GOD they are starving for emotional support. The siblings would have a terrible relationship, which Gamora wouldn't care about as long as they're doing what she wants.

i’ve heard a lot of people say “don’t reach out to your friends first and see how many people will remain in your life. those are your true friends” and i get it. it sucks and it’s tiring constantly being the one to message first, to initiate hang outs but don’t take this so literally. some friendships require initiation. i have lost touch with so many people who genuinely cared about me and wanted me in their life because i stopped reaching out. it’s a hard pill to swallow but honestly some people just suck at it and it doesn’t mean they don’t love and value you. i’ve reconnected with some people over the past few months and it’s crazy how genuinely happy they are to see me and how engaged they are in the conversation. i just think sometimes we’re too harsh on each other & too quick to emphasize other peoples flaws and remove them from our lives but then we’ll all be alone and what’s the point of life then!!!!

The manga industry, especially JUMP, needs to hurry up and do away with weekly scheduling for mangaka. There needs to better regulations put into place for their health and safety because this is pitiful. Two weeks - monthly updates should’ve already been the standard for the manga industry at this point. These money grabbers will only continue to put the lives of these artists at stake for the sake of capitalism unless some serious changes are implemented.

My favourite thing about tumblr, that in my opinion makes it far superior to other social media sites, is that new posts live side by side with old posts. These days, there’s a prioritization of new content. It not only shortens the lifespan of people’s work, memes and such, but it also devalues the work that goes into making certain things.

Sure, a lot of posts are just random thoughts spewed into the ether, but some posts are carefully crafted videos, photos, artwork, prose, that take the creator a considerable amount of time and effort to craft. So, as a content creator, it’s nice to see that you can put work into a piece of content on here and it can have a life of its own. Unlike other platforms where posts live and die in a matter of day, sometimes, hours

you know what boils my blood.

over the last 2 weeks, i've seen countless patients walk into my urgent care center, symptomatic for so many things, refusing to get tested for covid and flu, citing that they don't want to knowingly bring it to their holiday tables. i had a patient tell me, verbatim, "i don't want to test for covid, because i don't want to be the asshole who brings it on a plane."

i understand that - i understand that holidays are times where people look forward to meeting loved ones that they might only see once a year, or where they get a break from the hectic back and forth of their lives.

but here's the thing - whether they get tested or not, they will bring whatever they have to their holiday tables. it's pure recklessness to know that you're sick, and walk into someone else's house spreading the disease.

today, january 2, i saw 91 patients, many of them who have tested positive for covid and flu. many of these patients are the same ones who didn't want testing 3 days ago, until their events were over, and now, they will have to reach out to everyone they know to let them know that they were positive because they were showing symptoms well before their event.

the next week or two? we're going to see many, many more, all people with symptoms that started around christmas. these are the only two viruses we test for rapidly in our office, but they are potent and can be fatal in many people.

so here's why i wrote this post, and maybe it's a little late, but - if you care about your loved ones, please get tested if you know you're sick. it doesn't have to be at a clinic if you don't want it to, because the over-the-counter tests work just fine too (if you test within 5-7 days of symptom onset). just...please don't try to run from the knowledge that you might have covid, because immunocompromised people, elderly people, people with co-morbidities like asthma, pregnancy, diabetes, etc...many of them may not recover. and they may not be sitting at your holiday table in the future because of it.

I love the “Mumbo’s some kind of supernatural creature” headcanons, and I love the “Mumbo’s just a guy” headcanons, but may I propose: “everyone thinks Mumbo is some sort of creature thing but he’s actually just a bit strange”

Mumbo gets nervous anytime someone tries to interrogate him, making the hermits even more suspicious, but in actuality he’s just worried they’ll be disappointed and he’s starting to realise they probably won’t believe him no matter what answer he gives.

There’s a server-wide bet going for who can figure out what he actually is. Grian, who’s known him for years and knows full well that’s he’s 100% mortal and human, shows up and starts egging the hermits on by “dropping hints” as to what he may be, much to Mumbo’s dismay. Grian thinks the bet is utterly hilarious.
