“Admits Stealing Twenty Dresses,” Kingston Whig-Standard. October 25, 1932. Page 5. ---- Claude Griffin of Gananoque Sentenced to Ontario Reformatory ----- Gananoque, Oct. 24 —Claude Griffin, a local man who surrendered himself to Chief Constable William Chevis on Saturday evening and admitted the theft of twenty dresses valued at $142, which were consigned to Pattenick's store, from A. Nuttall’s transport truck on February 4th, was tried before Magistrate James H. Sampson yesterday afternoon and sentenced to twelve months determinate and twelve months indeterminate in the Ontario Reformatory.
The accused elected to be tried by the magistrate and Crown Attorney Atkinson of Brockvllle, who conducted the prosecution, called A. A. Nuttall, owner of the transport truck from which the foods were taken, as the first witness. Mr. Nultall testified that the accused was with him on the date In question and that a number of parcels had been picked up at Pattenick's Cobourg store for delivery at the Gananoque branch. Arriving in Gananoque at about 1 a.m., witness had placed the truck in his garage and Griffin had come next day to deliver the parcels around town. He had taken the truck out for about an hour and a half and returned with the parcels apparently all delivered. However,on the following Saturday, Nuttall had been advised that one of the four parcels consigned to Pattenick's was missing. He had questioned Griffith about the shortage, but the accused had claimed he knew nothing about it. Witness had then notified the insurance company of the loan and they had settled the claim for the amount at which the parcel was valued $142.
The next witness was Robert Leavis, manager of Pattenick's local store, who recalled that the shipment was short the dresses on the date in question but did not remember the number of packages received at the time or the value of the dresses.
W. A. Peck, local insurance agent, testified as to the policy covering the loss of the goods and the payment of the claim.
The last witness was Chief Chavis, who told how Griffin had given himself up on the comer of Stone and King streets on Saturday evening.
“Are you still looking for the parcel of goods taken from Nuttall's truck last February?" accused had asked.
"Yes," replied the Chief. '‘Well," said Griffin, 'I'm the man that took it.”
The Chief and Griffin had then gone to the former's office where a voluntary statement had been taken. Accused had been warned that he did not have to make the statement and that it might be used against him. The statement was to the effect that he had stolen the parcel of clothing from Nuttall's truck and disposed of the articles to various people.
“Did you question him as to the disposition of the goods?" asked the Crown.   "Yes,” replied the Chief "and he said he had sold them but to whom he did not remember now.”
In summing up the case, the Crown pointed out that the amount involved was considerable. On the other hand, the accused had given himself up and that must be taken into consideration. In passing sentence, the magistrate pointed out to Griffith that if he behaved himself in the reformatory during his stay there, he would not be required to serve the second twelve months of his sentence but would be allowed out on probation.
Griffin, who is an expert driver, drove the car containing himself and Chief Chevis to the county jail at Brockville. He also drove the car to Gananoque from Brockville earlier in the afternoon for his trial.

Mafia AU with the batfamily, but it starts when Jason comes back as the Red Hood.
In this AU, Dick is the first one to find out about Jason being a crime lord. He finds out that his little brother is alive and running a gang and says "fuck it."
Is Dick currently a police officer and vigilante? Yes. Does he also immediately quit his day job to join Red Hood's gang as soon as finds out? Also yes.
Dick has a second chance with his brother. Is this brother a little murderous? Sure. Dick's tried to kill people too, though. Also, Dick is 83% sure Tim's got a kill count. It's fine.
So Jason is confused why Dick is willing to join a gang. The oldest brother says some cringe worthy stuff about family and Jason takes the action as the proof of love and loyalty it is (also, somehow Dick is just as terrifying to their enemies as Red Hood, but Dick doesn't kill them).
Tim, upon seeing Dick join a gang, instantly researches the hell out of this group. He finds out it's Jason, runs the stats for how crime has dropped in Crime Alley, and instantly starts working behind the scenes to create a smoother path for them. Without meaning to, Tim becomes the shadow boss for Jason's gang. The brothers are not aware that the other gangs, mobs, and rogues are wary of whomever it is that's smoothly guiding Red Hood's gang to success.
Red Hood is the face, Nightwing (though maybe a different moniker) is his right-hand man, and there's someone steering them to victory.
The startling efficiency of the gang and quick ascent drives Bruce into a paranoid bender. The man also has no clue where Dick wandered off to and why he's ignorning Bruce. Tim, as Robin, pretends to try to help Batman take down this group. This causes mass amounts of confusion because no one is aware that Tim is helping Hood besides Tim himself.
When Damian first appears in Gotham, he doesn't immediately go to Wayne Manor. He stalks it first. And what does he find? Tim is apparently shadow controlling a major mafia in Gotham.
As some convulted plan to dethrone Tim from Robin (and also because Damian is not aware that shadow controlling a gang is against Bruce's rules [like how he doesn't know murder is a big no no]), Damian decides to infiltrate Jason's gang. At first it's rocky cause Jason doesn't want kids in that line of work, but Damian being Talia's kid (and the chance to provide Damian a better childhood) has Jason and Dick adopting the child. They try to keep the runt out of the work as much as possible.
They all (minus Tim) grow closer until one night Damian overhears Jason lamenting to Dick about how the Joker is still alive. Jason hates that his father never avenged him.
Damian decides to fix that by killing the Joker.
When Dick and Jason confront Damian about this, he reveals Tim is controlling their entire mafia from the shadows.

I feel like it's just me who thinks that Stolas looking up the Asmodean crystals for Blitz isn't necessarily for a break up (mainly cause that part already happened,) but more as a peace offering to help start a friendship, so they can hopefully start to have one that isn't built on dependency or deception
Stolas is gonna give it to Blitz to show Blitz that he wants him to have his own independence, and not rely on him for the book just to do his job. I think he just wants to ultimately know if there was anything genuine that came from Blitz in all of this, and the best way for Stolas to do that is to give Blitz a gift in good faith that allows him to do his job, without needing Stolas to do it.

If I had a nickel for every time a character named Ethan died in a piece of media I read/watched I'd have two nickels; which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

working retail is making me remember how much i hate stupid customers btw
#so i work in a tiny nonprofit thrift store. right.#its one room w concrete floors and very compact shelving because there is just No Room for anything.#and our office/employee backroom/breakroom is a little corner with wood+canvas dividers separating it from the rest of the store#with LOTS of signs saying employees only nothing is for sale here etc etc etc#and there was a customer today who went through the divider to ''shop'' in the ''other section of the store''#and we didnt even KNOW someone was back there until she brought up one of my coworker's purses to ask how much it was </3#im so baffled. there are so many signs saying its employees only.#not to mention that the office is full of notes and paperwork and my boss's computer and filing cabinets and the fridge and microwave#its CLEARLY an office/break room. even if you ignore all the signs. and YET.#there's also people who will literally just steal. anything and everything#which like. i will always support shoplifting from walmart or another big retail company. in fact i encourage it.#but a tiny locally owned NONPROFIT thrift store that supports local arts ???? HELLO ????????????????#gah. i should be allowed to throttle one customer per day. i should get paid to do so#most of them are so so sweet. we have regulars who are in almost every day and they are the NICEST people ever#but its just those few who are absolutely the worst most selfish stupid people to ever live#woes from work#winter speaks#all complaining aside i do enjoy my job quite a bit more than i thought i would#i like my coworkers and i feel like im actually connecting with most of them#and i love my supervisor. i have so much respect for her she's an amazing person#you win some you lose some i guess. cool job i actually like but with stupid fucking customers who make me want to MURDER

Izuku- I can't bring myself to kill a baby, so I'm going to dump him on my brother
Mirio- I'm going to name him Toshinori!
AfO- Screaming internally
Naming the baby Toshinori is a great idea because:
If AfO kept his memories and is indeed very evil in a baby body, he'll hate being called Toshinori so much he'll be obvious about it
If AfO indeed lost his memory and is just a little baby now, naming him Toshinori gives him an excellent model to try to be like
It gives Mirio the ability to get some revenge on AfO without mistreating a child
It's AfO's fault because they were willing to use his real name but no one knew it due to all the lying. He could have prevented so much of this by but being a bastard but oh well
Literally no one will think this kid is AfO when he grows up again, even with his quirk and appearance, because he's going by Toshinori.

Ello, it’s me again with an important question~ Since Boss wears glasses, how bad is his eyesight?? Or does he only wear it for aesthetic reasons??
…….And would he allow Friend! Darling to take his glasses and try them on, or would he grip their wrist before they can remove it?? :3
(First scenario may or may not include Friend! Darling staring at his face and saying he looks more handsome with glasses)
how bad is his eyesight?? Or does he only wear it for aesthetic reason??
For the sake of possibly getting 🍀 going through a crisis, he wears it for the sake of being able to see. He struggles a lot because (correct me if I'm wrong cause its been a WHILE) he's actually far-sighted! However, when he doesn't have his glasses, he just wears contacts instead.
…….And would he allow Friend! Darling to take his glasses and try them on, or would he grip their wrist before they can remove it?? :3
Jessamine. Jessamine. Friend! Darling would have somewhat of those rights but heaven forbid you pull that away for an hour, he will hold you on a death grip. This man wouldn't mind if they do it though, because he doesnt really need it and has his contacts, but... Well.
Let's just say he likes them better.
(First scenario may or may not include Friend! Darling staring at his face and saying he looks more handsome with glasses)
THE FIRST SCENARIO LMAOOO PLEASE TELL HIM, PLEASE FEED INTO HIS EGO. I will laugh because he'd be probably "oh, so you're into glasses, are you? :)" while internally going "hm... interesting..."

One thing that's funny to me about Diavolo is that the way he founded Passione and works as the Boss makes no sense and no attempt to even try and explain it is made at all
He supposedly created Passione himself and became Boss, but not a single person even knows who he is, let alone have talked to him or worked with him. He doesn't even have a consigliere and his underboss is Doppio, who we are left to assume isn't known by and doesn't work with other gangsters either. Who decided Diavolo was the Boss? How did he even get people to join his organization? How does he send orders out and have people know that he's the one sending them...
