Ad 🥩 @barandblock is a steakhouse chain serving up 30-day aged British & Irish prime beef and I visited its newly opened Paddington restaurant to see what’s changed in the last 3 years since my last visit to another branch. I’ve seen a massive step up in the quality and choice, and a new streamlined approach to the menu makes it even easier to select your favourite cut. You’ve got specialty cuts, such as spiral-cut ribeye, beef rib, and the steak sampler, or go classic and get rump, ribeye, sirloin or fillet in any weight you want and all hand-cut to order! We went for a 6oz ribeye and the steak sampler. The steaks were cooked perfectly with a nice smoky char on the outside from the grill. But to make these steaks even better you HAVE to get their new Block steak sauce, it’s incredible! It’s a sweet, fruity and smoky tamarind flavour that’s kind of like an A1 steak sauce. They sell it by the bottle too and I wish I bought one 🥲. Pricing is great, especially when you get sides included with the steak price, plus cocktails are 2 for 1 every day, 5-7pm, and you can enjoy the Save+Crave lunchtime set menu with 2 courses for £12.95 or 3 courses for £14.95, 11.30am-5pm Monday-Friday! Dalam perkulineran duniawi, marbling adalah istilah yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan kandungan lemak yang simpang-siur di bagian merahnya, yang seperti jaring laba-laba, umm gimana ya? Nonton gambar aja ya Marbling juga disebut intramuscular fat (lagi-lagi aku tidak menemukan padanan yang pas). Pada umumnya more marbling = better meat! Ingat, bukan lemak yang putih-putih gemoy ya, tapi putih-putih bergaris! Nah, marbling ini adalah pemrakarsa utama rasa sepotong steik. Kemudian, setiap bagian daging punya tingkat ke-marbling-an beda-beda. Misalnya has dalam (tenderloin) adalah bagian paling empuk pada sapi, biasanya malah punya marbling yang sedikit, sirloin (has luar), dan rib-eye (daging rusuk) malah lebih banyak. Terakhir, apa? Anyone else prefer their Picanha rare? I usually keep my Picanha simple with just SPG. I thought I’d go a little more flavor forward on this one and went hard with SPG, but also added a healthy amount of @hardcorecarnivore Red to it. I’ll say right away that I was not disappointed! I always like to keep it simple with this cut to not lose the flavor of the beef to seasonings. The Red seasoning just brought out the natural flavor of the meet and I couldn’t get to the next bite soon enough. Goes without saying I ended up overeating. Today I noticed that my "Steak and Asparagus" food was very imperfect. It was one of my first food so I decided to remake it with salad instead of asparagus.

🥩 Don’t be grabbing your wallet and keys too quickly, you’ll have to go all the way to NYC for this one. I went to New York recently and went to a load of great restaurants; michelin, fine dining, and legendary. This is @keenssteakhouse, considered one of the best steak restaurants in NYC, famous for their mutton chop (which I did also get). This is their porterhouse for 2, and you don’t need me to tell you that American portions are bigger, but each cut piece was near enough a steak on its own. Anyway, if you’re over that side of the world then I do recommend Keens.
