I absolutely love the watercolour art you’ve done recently! I’m just wondering what the process is on how you create the art? Like do you sketch, ink then paint or ink last? Im curious because I would love to try and do something like this myself!

This is a bit of a long post since I added a few tips to help you out on your process (tl;dr: sketch>paint>lineart)

I actually took a few picture when I was painting this so I can show you a glimpse of how my painting process looks like. I usually start with a sketch and erase it lightly with gummy eraser (I erase it until its barely visible like the one at Chloe's legs). You can use a normal eraser but gummy eraser is easier and it doesnt damage paper and doesnt make those annoying eraser clumps so get those if you're on a grocery run one day hhh

After I erase it, I put down the bases here and there. I intentionally leave some white spots cuz those are highlights and where the light hits. If you're painting, I suggest you figure out where the light source would be and leave the part where you think the lights will hit the folds of the clothes and skin unpainted.

When painting the base, dont forget to dilute it, the color of the bases shouldn't be darker or more vibrant than the shadow you will paint soon. The bases will look pale but I assure you it will look nice when you add the shadow soon :3

I also mixed a few colors at the areas i think it would look darker. For example, notice how Chloe's red legging isn't a solid red but a mix of purple at the bottom part.

White clothing can be tricky to paint since it's light and highlights are white so what I usually do is I always paint it to be off white. For the base of white clothes, instead of using black and dilute it with water to make it grey, I like to mix jaune brilliant (or any pale skin color)+ tiny bit of ultramarine because it creates such a nice neutral gray. From that grey you can add either add a bit of cadmium orange (to make the grey warmer) or a bit of purple or pink to make the tone cooler. For this drawing, I also add a bit of shell pink and horizon blue (a baby sky blue shade) on Utonium's clothes. Mixing those colors makes white clothes looks prettier to me.

I dont have a clear picture for this part so sorry about that aahh 😭😭😭 but anyway this is the neat part. Since we already use diluted colors for the base, you can use more vibrant color and add more paint as shadow.

I also dont usually use black to make the shadow darker since it will make your color look muddy. For that, I usually add other shade right next to them on the color wheel. For example, for red shade clothes I mix purple to the shadow just like at Utonium's shorts. This works for others too, if your clothes' yellow, use orange for shadow. Blue? Purple can be use as shadows. It helps if you memorize the color wheel so you can pick the shadow color quickly in your head hhh

You still can use black though if you intended the shade to look brown, there's nothing wrong using black but be careful on adding because its a strong color a just a tiny tiny bit is enough to darken your color. (If you paint with black all the time I suggest you buy a tube of neutral tint black because this shade can be use to make your color darker without making it look muddy since it is created for this purpose :3)

This is how it looks in the end after I'm done with the shadows and the bg (I havent add the lineart at this point). I actually dk how to draw background so I usually just draw patterns or just paint a solid color bg. I also think keeping the background plain is better since I want people to focus on Utonium and Chloe instead of the background and it would look cluttered af if I draw a complicated bg hhh

This is how it looks like after I finish with the lineart. For the lineart, I never use pen or ink, I use watercolor and colored pencils for it. I use a tiny 01 detail brush for the lines and also use a white gel pen for some highlights. Lineart is actually my least favourite part and I still struggle with it til this day ;w;

This is the one I posted the other day. I edited this one clearly since my camera actually didn't do justice to the color (it looks prettier irl i swearrr, my camera just fuckin sucks _(:3」∠)_) and also everyone lies on the internet hhh dont feel guilty about editing it since its hard making watercolor looks good on camera fr 🤧🤧🤧

In the end, watercolor is a fun medium for me to work with because it's an unpredictable medium and sometimes it doesn't look like how I intended it to be so don't worry if it doesn't look like how you planned it to be. I hope this is helpful enough for you and its easy to understand 🙏

I'm slightly above average height for a girl (about 5'9) with brown wavy hair, but I'm always dying it bright colours/changing my haircut (much to mother's dismay lol). Style-wise, I tend to alternate between super preppy, if not a little too formal, to just completely grunge. Depends on my mood and who I'm hanging around with that day I guess. I am quite impartial to my combat boots though. And high-heels. Ideally both at once.

I'm an INTJ Slytherin Leo--fairly introverted and aloof by nature but after years of practice and forcing myself out there, I can be quite bubbly and chatty when necessary (super draining though and it still sometimes weirds out some of my oldest friends how quickly I can switch). I will not shut up about random nerdy/sciencey nonesense if I feel comfortable. Not too great with emotions though--it's a work in progress heh.

Currently a physics and maths double major with a minor in philosophy because that somehow seemed like a good idea at the time and no one told me I couldn't do it. Quite active around campus--super involved in leadership for some clubs and the student union, and compete in debate. I love it because it's all super interesting af but I'm not too great at math for someone doing a degree in it and I'm at a point where I'm surviving on irresponsible caffeine consumption and spite alone. I switch between hobbies and interests really often because i suppose i just get bored a little too easily, so I'm a bit of a jack of all trades--only things I've really stuck with for a long time are writing (that will never see the light of day) and just tinkering around with stuff to figure out how it works and seeing what I can do with it. Technically a classically trained pianist because parents expected it but uh I haven't practiced in a while so I'm a 'lil rusty--more into rock music these days anyway.

I'm trilingual--French, English, and Arabic (needs a lot of work though). Trying to learn Latin for the hell of it (also helps with Philosophy a bit). Fortunately got to travel a lot as a kid because of my parents' work so it's helped with getting some practice I suppose. I just love travelling and getting to know other cultures honestly, especially having lived in big cities and had friends from all over my whole life. And getting to visit all the museums and art galleries is a huge plus.

and i have actually read the manga! or at least part of it. i just have the first volume but really wanna get the rest. i just got so caught up in dorohedoro that i ended up splurging on all the books for that instead.

i have sorta been in and out of rp for years now. i remember, i used to write on tumblr when i was like 12 / 13 which is ..... really kinda scary thinking about it. when i was 17, i got back into roleplay and ended up joining a group with the nicest of people ( some of who i still speak to now ). i worked my way up to becoming a moderator and then an admin, then poured my heart and soul into a revamp but i think the longer i spent there, i just got a bit bummed out by strict rules and having to set an example as head admin when i could hardly follow them myself with university and working a full time job. i did leave eventually and came over to indie where i took my lil fire cracker as oc. just recently made her a blog because i found my long lost love @asynjja​ / @indizien​ and got hit right in the feels with this rollercoaster plot we had going. i then started adding game of thrones muses to that multi, switched it out for solely a game of thrones multi, then made daenerys & margaery their own separate blogs but marg moo is hibernating

i have a soft spot in my heart for cripples, bastards & broken things. nah, i’m kidding but most of my characters have legit always been BROKEN  !!!  i’ve always had this thing for powerful woman who are inspiring, a lil wild and just stand out characters. so aside from dany, i’ve also written sansa, arya, cersei and margaery but i just never really resonated with them in the way that i did with daenerys. i feel like because i started watching game of thrones when there were only 3 seasons out, that i really watched her grow and just came to love her even more. she stands for freedom, justice, equality and tbh .... that’s the stuff i stand for too. she’s a passionate fiery lil thing and i think i can relate to that on quite a few levels, which is why i’ve opted for the characters that i have in the past. i could really do with reviving marg ( @rosebeavty​ ) but my muse here is far too strong. once i become hooked on a certain character, i find it difficult to place my muse and interest elsewhere so sorry guys but ur stuck with me for a lil while

- CJ's I think it'd be a hare. A quick hare that's smart as a whip, sassy af and always having ideas that scream "are you just trying to get yourself into trouble?". It's the part of herself that CJ almost never lets out, and it's the part of her that's a little like Josh and that gets him. A hare, with big ears that listen to everything, who pays attention to everyone around them, and is always trying to get the last word in.

- I think Josh would have something big and imposing for a daemon. But something so strangely elegant, for those who don't know him too well... A feline for sure. A Lynx, perhaps. All that stealth and patience and that... I don't know, regal thing that Josh keeps hidden underneath the brash-and-bold of the early seasons, and that later comes out because brash and bold is not really all he is, is it? He's definetly fierce and a bit wild (wild thing), and he can be ruthless, but he's also constantly looking for a safe place to just cuddle up to someone who's gonna scratch his ears.

- once I was complaining on ao3 about not being able to write Sam and a reader told me "I think of him as a golden retriever" and yep. Sam's daemon is a golden retriever, I can't unsee this anymore. They're both sweet and loyal and can be a little bit of an asshole (when they make a mess by doing things you thought they'd never do, and you took their eyes from them for like a second but now-- yep, yeah look at the mess they made).

- because Josh Lyman is a wildcard but he Knows His Shit. He's the mastermind behind a thousand great hits. He treats heist like both an art and a sport and he likes the challenge of the grandiose, elaborate, stings. Not that he feels the need to slap his name on every famous painting he ever planned the theft of, but he loves knowing he was the one who did it under everyone's nose. He's learned everything he knows from Leopold McGarry, who's a true legend, but he's still lacking Leo's finesse. He has a tendency to miscalculate just how pissed off people will be, which means if he's in, then they bring around--

- CJ Cregg, grifter extraordinaire better know as The Jackal. She can ruin your life, take your money, and make you thank her for it. The most fun person you'll ever meet, and a great friend of Josh's, who can, more often than not, anticipate when his plans have fails that might make everything to awry. She's a little bit like Sophie from Leverage, I guess? If you haven't watched that show omg GO WATCH IT it's so fun, I miss it a lot hehe.

- never accept Toby Zeigler's invitation to play poker. Or anything involving a deck-- because he's a man who knows his cards. He always has a deck in his pocket, and when in conversation he's always flipping it into different cuts and tricks. A cardistry master, slight of hand like you wouldn't believe. There's some history between him and CJ, maybe, but no one ever asks.

- I love the idea of Donna being the CZJ of this au, I'm not gonna lie, but... She's got that clever as the devil and twice as pretty vibe going, and I can totally see her striking a friendship with Josh after she swipes his wallet and he's like WOW OK WHAT? And then they become inseparable because Donna manages to talk Josh down from sheer stupidity in a way that even CJ can't. And and and and JUST IMAGINE THE OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE 'FAKE RELATIONSHIP' TROPES, MAN. They have to pretend to be together for a job and-- Josh doing big things just to impress her.

- Leo and Jed being Old Friends who quit the game ages ago but now came back for some reason? Idk. The only reason I haven't written this au yet is bc it needs plot and I can't find one (SEND ME IDEAS!!!!). Anyway, they got that Danny and Rusty thing where they're both such good friends and they trust each other and they're FAMILY and God this is actually a mix of Leverage and O11, isn't it.

Six years. Six years of education – four for his B.A., andthen another two for the MLS – and he’s cleaningfingerprints off his circ desk. Enjolras is not amused, to say the veryleast. And the real kicker is that this isn’t the first time. The same scruffyguy has been showing up for weeks now, never checking anything out and leavingbehind nothing but vibrant fingerprints of acrylic paint on the circulationdesk.

Enjolras used to think that maybe the guy wasn’t doing it onpurpose. Maybe it was an honest mistake – his university does have a large artsprogram, and this guy wasn’t the first art student in the building by a longshot. He certainly looked the part from a moderate distance, with scruffy blackhair, paint-splattered jeans, and an oversized jacket that smelled faintly ofstale smoke. Courf would say that this guy was just Enjolras’s type.

Courf also doesn’t know that Enjolras has been spending thebetter part of four weeks not only going through Lysol wipes at a brisk pace(for the fingerprints), he’s also been reshelving books like a maniac becausestudents keep telling him that there’s a Twilightnovel in the existentialist theory section or a copy of Lolita in children’s lit. Notamused.

So when the fingerprint comedian (“it’s a fitting name,Combeferre, and what else should I call him?” “His name might be a start,Enjolras.” “You’re hilarious.”) returns after a brief hiatus of a few days,Enjolras is waiting at the desk. He definitely does not have a tube of wipes hidden out of sight and ready to go. Hisgame plan is this: approach this criminal. Confront him about the fingerprintsand the books and the general aura of disorder that follows him like a cloud.Ask him politely to cease and desist, or at least check a book out and use thelibrary as intended. Congratulate self on a job well done when he agrees to theabove condition. Enjolras has this list written down on a piece of scrap paperfor easy reference. He can do this.

“Excuse me? Hi,” Enjolras says in what he thinks is anApproachable Tone. The fingerprint comedian stops on his way to the stacks andgestures at himself, eyebrows raised. “Me?”

“Yes,” Enjolras continues. “Can I speak with you briefly?”He gestures at the catalog chair. “Pull up a seat, Mr.-?”

“Grantaire,” the guy replies. He forgoes the chair and leansagainst the desk instead. His cuticles are yellow and green and his eyes are anincredible blue. Enjolras reminds himself that noticing how hot the culprithappens to be is not the purpose of this conversation. “What can I do for you,Hot Librarian?”

Enjolras kicks himself in the back of the leg in surprise.He tries not to visibly wince. “You-you keep leaving paint on my desk,” hesays abruptly, and then does wince. “I mean, you have a habit of leavingfingerprints on the library circulation desk,” he amends, “and I’m pretty sureyou’re also doing some, ah, renegade reshelving.” He crosses his arms, tryingto look imposing. He probably should have done something better with his hairtoday.

The guy – Grantaire – laughs. “So you found them! Did youfind the Rousseau in the Dystopian YA section?” Even his eyebrows are amused.Enjolras is not. “I have to admit,” Grantaire continues, “the paint wasunintentional. Hazards of the artistic lifestyle – sorry.”

“I did not find the Rousseau, but you’ll have an opportunityto reshelve it properly. In exchange for not telling the University Librarianabout you and getting your borrowing privileges revoked, you can reshelve bookswith me tonight,” Enjolras says, right eyebrow raised dangerously close to hishairline. “I suggest you take me up on my exceedingly generous offer.” He feelsgood about this. Not just because it means he’ll get to spend more time withthis annoyingly hot artist. That’s only 85% of it. Maybe 90%.

“What if instead I took you out to dinner and we call iteven?” Grantaire’s still smiling, though it’s turned into something more suggestive.Enjolras tries to keep his left eyebrow in check, since the right one is ahopeless cause. He also tries not to blush.

“Reshelve the books you moved,” Enjolras replies, “and Ilike pub food. The desk closes at 7 and I can’t stand lateness.” This was noton his list. He worked hard on that list and now he’s disrespecting it.Enjolras quietly crumples the list into a ball and tosses it in the directionof the recycling bin. Grantaire has not stopped smiling yet and it’s not makingit easier for Enjolras to look him in his beautiful, annoying eyes.

“Deal. I’ll pick you up at seven sharp.” He gives Enjolrasan exaggerated wink. “What you’re wearing is great – don’t do anything withyour hair.” Enjolras splutters and knocks a pencil off the desk with his elbow.“My – what? Get out of my library. Goodbye. You are the worst.” He hides hisface, which is on fire, by duckingunder the desk to retrieve the pencil he dropped.

Grantaire laughs and starts heading towards the stacks. “Don’tyou want me to fix my hilarious book-shelving-based social commentary?” Enjolraspops up from behind the desk to reply, but Grantaire disappears behindPsychological Reference before Enjolras can come up with something witty to say.

Bad decision city,he texts Courfeyrac and Combeferre, Iwanted to get mad but instead we’re going on a date. Is this the appropriatetime to use #yolo?

Courfeyrac’s answer (“YAAASSSSget it get it get it #soproud #mamabird’) is swift, Combeferre’s (“Congrats, Enjolras”) following shortlybehind.

Enjolras pulls out another piece of scrap paper for anotherlist. Item one: don’t tell Grantaire it’s been six years of getting a B.A. andthen an MLS since he’s been on a real date. He thinks for a moment, and thenunderlines “don’t” five times. He can do this.

God i feel like a jerk! i’m soooo sorry this is probably so late! i haven’t logged in in forever!!!! I just happened to log in today cause i just needed to get a little fic idea out of my chest (is a new fandom tho, not oso san or SS, sorry :C), so i’m really sorry for taking so long! and you have nooo idea how happy you just made me! ugh i had so many asks and they’re all making me so happy!! i had actually forgotten how it felt to be logged in again!!! 

And HELL YEAH Kara is my fave!! have you seen him?!?!?! ugh. i love him. And i have so many ideaaaaas for him!!! but still it will all come once the year is over, so if you send an ask (you or anyone who is reading this) i wont be ignoring you, it’s just that i won’t be logging in for a long time, i WILL answer, ALLWAYS, but it might take me months until i do so.

Oh no sweetie don’t worry! I wouldn’t have been able to tell at all! besides my mother lenguage is Spanish and i haven’t written anything in ages so my english is kind of rusty!

Hmm, let’s se, I learnt about Oso san through a friend, se watched anime like i did and she introduced me to the fandom. It was hilarious cause i’m really picky about drawing quality when it comes to anime. Like, the plot can be freaking amazing, but if i don’t like the drawing style it’s reaaaally hard it to get my vote hahaha. So she showed it to me and another friend, and seeing as it hardly has any continuous plot, she made sure to show us the funniest episodes first. I could be wrong, but i think it was the one when the hearter goes out, and maybeeee we saw the saw parodies as well (could be wrong tho) (also whoa this will get real long real fast, hope you don’t mind!) Now, up till that point i had heard and seen stuff about them, and i was one more person who was like “the hell are people suddenly fanart-ing several Nobitas all of a sudden?” and i never liked nobita (because of the drawing most of all actually).

And the FIRST thing that happened when i watched it was (besides having no fucking idea who was talking at any given time, like they are all the fucking same drawing! and they were together all the time so i couldn’t even get time enough to relate one color (cause that was the only way my mind could at least try to separate them) to one specific voice) was Karamatsu. He was SO FUCKING CRINGEY (PAINFUUUUUULLLLL) (and see, my brother and i actually have always been embarrased very easily by stuff, like since we were kids whenever something really, REALLY cringey was happening we actually turned to another channel while we waited for the embarrassing bit to pass, so it was freaking TORTURE to me), BUT!!! HE WAS SO FREAKING SWEET!!!! (i think we also watched the letters for the fish bit too but i’m not sure) AND EVERYONE TREATED HIM SO BADDLY!!! And i could see he was a big brother type from the start, which is always my favourite trait (i’m an older sister, guess it just gets to me, dont know).

So, anyway, i was hooked. I got home and started watching them even tho i hated the drawing style on principle, and this was on the weekend (he had had a sleepover at my friend’s place), but it was so fucking HILARIOUS! just so freaking clever, i couldn’t stop laughing, i just couldn’t! And Kara actually made me more resilient to cringeyness, like now we’re watching movies with my brother i can actually watch the embarrassing parts while he leaves the room XD; and by monday i was already practising drawing them in class with my friend watching with a smug look hahahaha . I think the first i started to draw was Jyushi actually. I just loved him! But it was Kara the one that stuck. 

Ahh... this actually made me really happy, good times and good memories *wipes tear*

And sander sides... actually i found it through vine videos on youtube. I would watch compilations to laugh on my free time and then through recomendations i found the video with Virgil and Roman talking Disney movies and i was hooked. I mean, Thomas is just a wonderful being, cute, sweet, and hilarious af, and this was DISNEY MOVIES CONSPIRACIES, and i have anxiety, so it caught me right away and went to look for other videos with Anxiety there and well. It made my like happier. Seriously. 

Just like the rest of fandoms i havent seen any of it in a long time! I know there’s a new video, it’s been out fora while, but i never got around to watch it, and to be honest, i’m actually avoiding all these things, cause i want to truly enjoy them and be able to draw and write and just be around everything and i know i won’t be until i’m done with this year, so i’d rather get up to date with everything once i feel at ease enough to do so.

Anyway, sorry for the long reply hahaha, and thank you sooo much for your ask, it actually just made my day!

below some closure for myself

It’s been like, what two years since i’ve logged on tumblr? It feels weird even writing on here after so much time, i have to spellcheck everything since apparently i even forgot how to fucking write in English D: But bear with me. Or don’t, it’s not that important anyway, im typing this more as closure to myself.

Anyway, i have a main art and shitposting blog and side blogs i use mostly for roleplay. I had a few friends around who i couldn’t keep as close as i would’ve liked because of very poor time and energy management and, as a conclusion, might not really be so eager to chat me up again. But i wanted to just say that i had nothing against anyone and i’m really sorry i ignored everybody, it just kinda got out of my control and, before i realized it, interacting with people here wasn’t a priority anymore.

What happened? Well, a couple of years ago, right around when i started to ignore my online activity i went through a break up. IT’s cheesy and stupid af, i know, but at the moment it felt pretty bad. It happened after a solid five years of relationship when i was away at a friend in a different city. Things were already tense for the past few months but i kinda got used to the bad parts so i stayed. My SO was the one who ended it, through the phone, after we had a fight about me going on the trip to see my friend.

I really did feel like shit for the longest time and, while i try to avoid sounding too pitiful of myself, i wasn’t in the mood to write nice things about ships, or dramatic interactions or rp plots, or draw my characters, my rp muses or fanart, i wasn’t in the mood for anything. The sky basically fell on my head and left me numb for a while. Yea, i could’ve used my online friends to talk about it, and i tried it on a few occasions, but i felt like i was bringing everybody down. My real life friends were also hard to access, as i was going through the “social divorce” you know, the “his friends were my friends” stuff) and the ones i made at uni were in different cities.

So i quit it without really realizing it. In my head felt like a matter of a month or two at max before i’d go back to posting, but i never found the energy to do it.

Time passed and i kinda got better and better, got a job in my field, i was trying to do commissions in art area i hadn’t tapped in until then, changed my look, you know, things you do a few months after a break up, and it got me back to my feet. I did have to go into therapy a bit, but then again, that’s an on and off thing for me for the last ten years, so it only felt normal.

The next big step for me, and this is gonna sound super stupid, was Tinder.

BUT BEFORE YOU DO THAT, seriously now, what other way there is to meet new people? Just go to them while in line for grocery shopping and ASK THEM?! Hell no, i was too awkward for that. And i was also super shy and rusty because my last relationship flattened me out (for context, my ex an arab guy and fairly traditionalist, but i didn’t notice how toxic it was until the whole deal crawled under my skin and made its lair there). 

Thus, when i tried to start dating all my energy was funneled in that direction. More time to make myself feel comfy in my skin, more time to appeal to potential companions, acquaintances, friends or even romantic partners. And, even if i was awkward and anxious af, it was still fun and hella distracting.

Then i actually got into another relationship. Then i got a job. Then i started to earn money and i felt responsible for my money. Then i kinda got super romantically involved aaaaaaand to spare you of all the other sappy details, i generally got my shit together.

So, fast forward to the present moment, when i can say i’m pretty happy but also organized enough to get back to my hobbies. Or at least attempt to. So i made this huge post to try and start somewhere.

If there is anyone who’s still interested to chat with me or interact with me or anything for that matter, i guess this is kind of my super informal and detailed “Hey there, i’m sorry i’ve been an ignorant asshole, but i kinda missed this community and the interactions here and now that i’m well rested i guess i’ll try to hang around for a bit again.”
