***TBB SPOILERS**
Realized I never wrote up my thoughts on "Into the Breach," which was the first episode I've liked since "Extraction"!!! Probably because all I could think about was Echo for 72 hours afterward.
This episode gave me such Rebels vibes, and that's truly the highest compliment I could pay any Star Wars media. I present my case:
There's an objective laid out from the start that is a small but crucial piece of the larger plot. The beginning of the episode presents this problem, and by the end of the episode, that specific problem solved.
Everyone is competent, and every character gets to do something vital to the mission. Whether it's a small thing doesn't matter; it's the fact that if that character wasn't there to do that small thing, the mission might be screwed that matters.
The action is meaningful—it conveys something about the characters while also driving the plot forward—and there's suspense that ratchets up the tension. And then to diffuse it, there's humor, and each joke is funny, but it's not overdone.
Infiltration episodes are such a Star Wars staple, and it's a real shame that TBB hasn't had more of them. They tried to make up for it by putting THREE infiltrations into this episode lmao. The fact that they show one long-term infiltration, one short-term infiltration, and one super short-term infiltration is very clever and makes the writing feel cohesive and dynamic, something this show hasn't always been able to achieve.
Also important, they do both a space/flight mission and a ground mission (two of each, technically), which is something that always helps make an episode feel like it's set in the GFFA and not just, you know *cough* Space!Louisiana. Or Tatooine scene #700.
There's also some nice storytelling going on with the environment—they go from being outside on the cloud city (free) to inside a space station (trapped with enemies), and for Omega, inside a cell (in which she actually enters another cell, visually—her bunk). The wide outdoor shots make the close, indoor shots feel much more claustrophobic, which is exactly the atmosphere these particular indoor settings should be giving off.
Other thoughts and meta:
Daytime Tantiss is a good sign! Forecast: Not death?
Prison Break Omega is just such a good vibe, and this would just be so fucking cool...except we've literally already seen her escape once this season??? And it was already really well done??? This is like the flip side of my complaint that Omega was too helpless in the first season, and it was annoying how she constantly needed to be rescued. Now she's too competent and is always escaping lol. It just really, really cheapens the dramatic effect either escape could've had.
Needless to say, the Batch's driving purpose once again being that they're struggling to rescue Omega is just. I'm tired. If there are going to be two major captures and two major escapes this season, at least one of them needs to be a narrative flip!!! The Batch rescuing her at the front end of the season and Omega escaping herself at the end, or vice versa, would've made it much less repetitive (and stopped cutting the Batch off at the knees in order to show Omega's competency). Omega even gets captured in the same fucking way—she gives herself up in "Plan 99" and "Point of No Return"! Ughhhhh
Okay I swear I actually like this episode lmao, I just. Editor instincts.
Thinking about how Omega left Lula on Pabu and has essentially left Straw!Lula to Eva, and how it shows that she's shed her need for comfort and is now ready to provide that comfort to other children, which is very lovely. But I'm also worried about Lula and Tech's goggles being on Pabu, because there are only three thematic options here: Everyone returns to them (sanctuary), everyone leaves them behind (leaving the past behind), or Omega returns to leave more items, say a bandana or a Firepuncher (memorial). The link between Lula and the goggles is actually not that natural (unless you're a Techwrecker shipper like me :D), so I've been pondering this choice a lot.
The symbolism of everything inside Tantiss being in the shape of the Empire cog and every character within its walls being a cog of the Empire is so heavy handed...and I am here for every moment of it!!!
Truly did not expect Rampart to stick around for so long. He's going to be a main character in the finale at this point?? I like how he's like a Kallus foil here—despite being scapegoated by the literal emperor he's still loyal to the regime and takes such pride in it. A very Jennifer Corbett & Brad Rau–esque character.
The way that when Echo came down the ramp I literally said, "Oh, thank god."
Hunter and Echo doing the clone hand clasp (and not wrist clasp, you'll note) isn't as emotional given that we already know how strong their bond is at this point, but it's still nice to see this visual callback to the Batch respecting Cody so much despite him being a reg that Hunter would use this hand clasp to greet him. It's a great shorthand (ha) for Hunter's feelings, since he is particularly suspicious of outsiders, and Echo is now fully "one of his."
I really love the mirror of the scene when the Batch is in the cell on Kamino and they escape by breaking into the wall—Omega effectively does the same thing here. These are the satisfying kinds of repetition, rather than entire arcs!
Every time I think about the Tech-is-the-mustachioed-doctor theory I giggle. It would just be. So anticlimactic?? But absolutely hilarious.
The costume change is so unnecessary, buuut I'll be first in line to buy the variant figures! Also it's nice to see some canon clone armor painting after writing and reading so many fics about it!!
I really like Hunter sensing Rampart plotting and how it brings his powers even closer to Jedi precognition.
Not too much Crosshunt in this ep, but I like how in both shuttle scenes, Crosshair stands in a position that blocks Rampart from getting to Hunter in the cockpit (while Wrecker blocks Rampart from getting to the exit).
Not particularly significant, but I like the visual detail of Hunter, Echo, and Crosshair bracketing Rampart in a triangle and it looking like they're his bodyguards but them actually forming that position because he's their prisoner.
The way I screamed when Rampart tries to get Echo to say "sir" and he just says, "I don't think so." Echo did not go through everything he's gone through up to this point to take anyone's shit!!! And the way Rampart just takes it and looks down all ashamed is peak comedy to me. Even he sensed that he was treading on dangerous ground there. (Just for a second think about Fives on Umbara and how he refused to take Krell's shit from the very start...)
The commandos being on this space station (that's orbiting Coruscant??) makes me very sad because it kind of foreshadows a dark ending for the Tantiss arc by showing that the commandos are spread all over the galaxy. So even if they rescue all the commandos from Tantiss, it still wouldn't save all the others. In which case, writing wise, it feels way more unlikely for them to save the commandos on Tantiss at all.
Wrecker tapping his foot while scrolling through the comments on his AO3 account is very cute. Also in the last episode the mining foreman was on his datapad like a phone and I thought it was supposed to convey that he was lazy lol but maybe this sort of thing is just going to show up in SW a lot more now haha
The lieutenant demanding to know where the captain is is kind of silly because wasn't he the one to let him go inside?? Why would he be back at his ship? But I love me the Rebels-esque gag of knocking him out on the ship.
Everyone is screaming about Crosshair having faith in Echo getting them through, but I would also like to contribute the fact that Crosshair says, "You can't go alone." A very poetic line of dialogue because being alone in the Techno Union is what the Batch saved Echo from being, and it's what Crosshair chose to be for two and a half seasons of this show. Not wanting to be alone again was also what made him turn against the Empire! We also see this anxiety in the previous episode, where he (in that very ridiculous reveal) admits he doesn't want to go back to Tantiss (and be alone again).
ECHOOOOOO!!!! About fucking time they gave him another action feature!!! I rewatch that opening sequence in "Tipping Point" constantly. And not only that, it's a very character-driven action feature for once!!! We see him showcase what it means to be an ARC trooper and also what it means that he's "part-droid." A test I like to consider when I gauge the quality of action-ensemble media is, Could any other character have done that? In this case, the text is very loudly telling us absolutely not! Also the way he exudes confidence about it ("But I can") is also just. Super hot, 10/10
Tbh the Echo feature felt so out of place for this show that at this point I was suddenly filled with terror that he was about to die. Thank god he did not, but he's still separated from the others by the end, so it's not out of the question for something terrible to happen in hyperspace, and I do not want it!!! But altogether that was a badass third act and a very good episode!

ive been a halfhearted dnd defender for a minute, bc i was really involved in indie ttrpg twitter for a while and I Am Not Anymore because frankly. it just got too hostile and crab bucket-y. a lot of people acting like critical role or dimension 20 were opposing them by playing a game that had widespread brand recognition (and also getting mad whenever critrole played something OTHER than dnd. i haven't forgotten how hostile everyone i knew in that scene was when critrole played monster hearts. like what do you want??) or like people who play dnd are popular jocks and people who play indie games are bullied nerds. when actually we're all nerds. nobody is cool here.
and i would especially get frustrated when people would recommend games to play instead of dnd that are not at all a comparable experience, or didnt have the same things people liked in dnd. sure, you could play Masks if you want to play a superhero game instead of just reskinning DnD, but Masks is about teens, and the fact that you're playing as teens is core to the mechanics, so it's not a good suggestion for someone who wants to play as adult superheroes. sure you can suggest someone play Blades in the Dark if they want to play a heist team, but BitD is incredibly punishing! every time ive played it, it felt almost impossible to get a full success at anything. that can be fun, if that's the kind of game you want, but if i want to play a game where i feel cool and like im good at things, then BitD is not a good replacement! I cant tell you how many times I've seen people say that you don't need to just reskin dnd when there are games that are more specifically tailored to the experience you want, and then in the same breath act like the games they're suggesting ARENT specific actually and can be used to craft any kind of experience you want. Is the genre baked into the mechanics, or isnt it? because it cant be both!
and thats not even getting into when people would suggest replacements that aren't even close. a lot of "dnd sucks nobody should ever play dnd. instead of dnd, why don't you play MY game, where youre a couple thats getting married in 2 months and you're still planning your wedding?" like... why would i play that instead of dnd, if i want to play dnd? those have nothing in common, beyond the fact that theyre both tabletop games. it's like saying "Instead of watching Star Wars, you should watch Get Out!" sure, they're both MOVIES, and Get Out is GOOD, but i think to suggest that someone who wants to watch Star Wars would have an equal if not better experience watching Get Out instead devalues both. They're not interchangeable because they're trying to do entirely different things
So I would get incredibly frustrated when people acted like people who were choosing to play DnD were just making a mistake, and that they couldn't possibly be getting anything out of playing that game specifically
ALL THAT BEING SAID wizards of the coast sucks ass and they can clean my balls. they should get put in the stocks and i should get to pelt them with tomatoes. i like playing in the sword and sorcery fantasy setting, and dnd was always my go-to game for that because Dungeon World is the worst game I've ever played (i can think of one or two other games in the same sort of setting, but i haven't tried them or met anyone willing to run them) but ah well. WotC can eat shit for this copyright bullshit

Chapter 1 in All is Well series written with @buckybarnesisdaddy and @theinheriteddutchess.
Early November
Waking to soft puffs of air on the back of your neck, you’re aware of the bear hug hold that Jake has on you. He’s worn his favorite Stars Wars t-shirt and boxer briefs to bed. But they do little against the fall morning. The temperatures had just started changing and even though outside was no autumn landscape, the cooler air of last night had caught you by surprise. Jake pulled you tight to the curve of his body, greedily soaking up any body heat that radiates off you. He was a covers hog as much as he was a cuddler. And while most times he preferred being the big spoon, there were nights that he curled into you. Your arms did little to reach across his broad chest and left you circling his trim waist. He liked those nights, your hands always seemed to wander down in your sleep. In the morning, he would wake to your hand tucked just under his waistband. His dick somehow knew it was you and reached out for the tips of your fingers. Like it knew it belonged there.
As Jake continues to snore into the crook of your neck, you blink away the sleep to see your other companion. Ransom Drysdale was a new addition. Where Jake was nothing but ready to please, his golden retriever energy taking over most of his personality, Ransom was like one of those temperamental Bengal cats. It’s leopard coat just flashy enough to catch anyone’s attention. But those paws always ready to swat away at anyone who had the gall to get too close. He did things on his terms, living to be contrary to everything and everyone. He had fought you, ready to prove that he didn’t need anyone, especially not you. The others had tried to get to know him and all had quickly been caught on the wrong side of his harsh tongue and haughty expression. It was Jake, his complete opposite, that had brought him around. More specifically, the way that Jake was with you. Jake didn’t care how he looked tagging along behind you. He didn’t care how small he looked letting you be the big spoon. And the way you called him Jakey. Were you trying to infantilize him?  Even now, Jake had so wholly wrapped himself around you, you would think that he thought you would vanish from his bare hands.
Ransom had woken up before either of you. The cold nipped at his body. He always preferred sleeping in the nude. However, you made him promise to at least wear underwear when all three of you were together. Most nights he would come to bed with your required attire, only to slip them off and kick them to the bottom of the bed. He wouldn’t admit it, but he loved the squeak of surprise you would give if you rolled into him during the night. He wasn’t ashamed of what he had to offer, never had any complaints. But there was something extra special about you finding him and his little friend in the night. The fact that he disobeyed made it all the better.
But now he lay there, the cool of the room getting to him and you across the bed snuggled into Jake. He frowned as he watched the two of you peacefully laying together. He wasn’t jealous in the slightest. Never could be. It was cold, just cold. Jake’s snoring wasn’t helping either. He stared at you, daring you to wake up. You couldn’t be that comfortable. Reaching up, he drew a line down the side of your face. His fingers tingled from the warmth of your cheek. You had to feel that. You twitched slightly, letting a little moan slip out. That got his attention and he twitched himself, all be it a little lower. He reached out again, this time going down and then up your cheek. That did it.
You caught Ransom quickly lowering his hand beneath the blankets. The outline of his profile in your direct eyeline. You watched as he pretended to sleep.
“Ran?” You whisper his name, careful not to wake the IT expert behind you. You reach out to lay a hand on his bare chest. Ransom always liked to complain about the cold. Except for sleeping, he was always wrapped in some kind of sweater. Wooly, cable knight, it didn’t matter. Feeling his skin, you feel the coolness of his chest. That cool touch you felt is starting to make more and more sense.
“Ransom?” Hearing his full name causes the corner of him mouth to twitch. Smug bastard was going to be difficult this morning.
Rolling towards Jake, you ignore the small huff leave Ransom.
“Jakey?” Reaching out to put a hand against Jake’s cheek, you feel him pull you closer, his legs locking with yours.
The small moan he lets out as you start to follow the lines of his sideburns, let’s you know that at least one of them would listen to you this morning.
“Jakey, wake up.” Your second call to him has his eyes fluttering open. You see as he tries to focus in on your face without his glasses. Once he zeroes in on your soft smile, he sighs softly, leaning in to give you a small peck.
“Morning precious,” you smile at the nickname. After making the mistake of letting him know how you never really got The Lord of Rings, he set out to show you the entire trilogy over the span of a holiday weekend. By the second movie, he had taken to quietly mouthing Gollum’s lines. When calling him out on it, he turned to you and whispered “My precious.” The nickname had stuck ever since.
“Can you go see if Bucky’s made breakfast?” You watch as his forehead creases. The three of you are usually the last to the breakfast table each morning. The sun was barely breaking its way through the curtains. It couldn’t be time to go down just yet.
Staring down at you, he goes to question your request until he sees Ransom shift behind you. The way he subtly inches towards you, feigning sleep while his mouth inches into a slight smirk. Jake looks back to you, seeing your eyes silently pleading that he understand.
Jake understood. He always did. Your arrangement maybe different from societal norms, but when had he ever worried about that. When you found him bent down picking up small baggies of orange slices outside of his niece’s soccer game, you hadn’t judge him. Just smiled down at him and helped get the remaining bags into his backpack. Even after months of dating when he let you know about his real job, not the fake corporate IT one that he told everyone, you had just smiled. He moved into the house shortly after and readily took on the role of your person. There were others in the house, but he was yours.
When Ransom entered the picture, he saw how hard he fought everyone. It was going to take time for him to trust and be trusted. Jake pitied him. He just needed someone to not judge him. You, who hadn’t judged all his dorky attributes, laughed at his awkward jokes, and didn’t run after learning about his elite task force, you could help Ransom. Lying in bed a few months into Ransom being here, he suggested that he move to your room. And as before, you just smiled up at him.
“Okay,” Jake nodded leaving you with a longer morning kiss this time.
Watching Jake grab his hoodie off the back of his desk chair and hustle out the room, you turn back to Ransom. This time you find him facing you, eyes staring down at you, the smirk full blown.
“It’s cold,” at his remark, you give him your own smirk and scoot over to snuggle into his chest. Ransom would never ask specifically to be held. He didn’t need that. Two people embracing without it leading to fucking. What was the point of that? He just needed you to get close enough and his little friend should be able to take over.
Moving closer to him, you quickly gasp as you figure out just why he’s so cold. Little bastard broke the rules again. Looking up at him, you see his tongue quickly jut out to lick his bottom lip, “What’s wrong, princess?”
You shake your head at him, bowing it to fit beneath his chin. You’re not sure where the nickname came from. Knowing Ransom, it was to either get under Jake’s skin with a term of endearment too close to his for you. Or he probably thought he was being smart by playing off the fact that when it came to this room, you were in charge.
Feeling you breathe against his collarbone, Ransom runs his hand down your thigh, grabbing just under your knee. Hiking it over his hip, he leans into you. Fuck this cuddling.
“Ran,” you chastised him as he griped your hip and began palming your ass cheek.
“It’s. Cold,” he punctuated each word, moving your hips closer and causing your breath to hitch. The heat from you radiating through your underwear, giving him just a taste of what your warmth felt like. If only he could maneuver the both of you just right, he knew he could slip in. He was confident you would be ready for him.
“What do you need, Ran?” His eyes snapped down towards you. So concentrated in pressing you against him, he hadn’t noticed you staring at him. He hated this question. What could he possibly need? You always did this. Tried to reduce him to some needy little thing. You had Jake the puppy to be that for you. He was Ransom Drysdale for fuck’s sake. If anything, you should be needing him. You did need him, he could tell you that you needed him in your pebbled nipples he could feel through your nightshirt and your thigh tightening around him.
“I need you to stop being a bitch so we can fuck,” he growled down at you.
Your answer was instant, as you quickly untangled yourself from his grasp and started to roll towards the other end of the bed. You don’t get to roll away. Not from him. His hand shot to your wrist pulling you back. You looked at him incredulously, body tight, as the corners of your mouth pinched in. He could tell he fucked up. But what’s it to him. If anything, he could go find one of the others and have them bounce on his cock for him. He didn’t need you. He didn’t need anyone.
He stared back at you, willing you to break first from this Mexican standoff. A smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. That should do the trick. You hated his smirk, knowing he only did it because he’s an asshole. You would throw him out of the room, send him downstairs to think about what he said. Any second now, you would yell at him to get out.
Looking at Ransom, purposely wearing that smirk, you see his eyes flicker down in almost regret. It’s a split second, if anything, and he quickly recovers his smug mask. You sigh, knowing that he was a spoiled brat. But only because he had learned that was only way to get attention. Ransom needed attention, constant attention. For him, your attention meant you cared, and if you cared, maybe you could like him. If you liked him, maybe you could comfort him. If you comforted him, maybe he could feel loved.
The tension leaves your body and you relax back down next to him. With your wrist still in his hand, he doesn’t notice your other hand reach under the covers. Sure that he has won, his smirk falls into a true smile until he feels you grab onto him. It’s not your first time handling him, you know how to tight to squeeze and where to rub. You slide up and down, giving him a few languid strokes before using the type of your fingernail to gently scratch along the head. His body’s response is immediate. A low groan leaving his throat, as he dribbles onto your fingers.
“Is this what you need, Ran?” Exhaling harshly through his nose, he bites down on his tongue to stop from answering. Gazing up at him, you stroke him a bit more, running her fingernail along the vein on the underside of him. You notice the tick in his jaw as he bares down, refusing to admit to needing this. Your shirt having ridden up, you trap him between his pelvis and your tummy. Rubbing him along your soft belly, he slides easily as he continues to drip onto you.
Jolting at the sensation of your skin against him, he tightens his grasp on your wrist still trapped between your torsos. Peeking up at him, you catch his blown pupils gazing down at you. You let a quick smile go just to push his buttons that bit more. He answers by grabbing onto your leg, hiking it back over his hip. His hand inches over your ass before disappearing under the edge of your underwear.
The slick his fingers encounter quickly coats them and he runs his index and middle over your lips. He could feel them getting puffy, imagining how they looked cushioning his two fingers. He slid them back and forth, just nudging at your little hood that was just starting to pull back. One more pass and he shoves them into you. You audibly gasp into his neck and he just watches you, dazed at you crumbling under him. Your own hand continues to press him against your tummy, encouraging him to rut onto you.
“Stop,” your response is strong given your labored breathing. He stops the glide of his fingers but gives one final tap to that spongey spot that always leaves you humming. You glare at him as you untangle your wrist from his hold to push him onto his back.
Swinging your leg over his hips, you straddle him as his hands on your thighs steady you. Pushing you your underwear to the side, you hold him in place as you lower onto him. His fingers dig into your hips as you drop. There’s that warmth he needed.
Fully seated, you lean forward placing your forehead against his. He was sure you were going in for a kiss. If you needed a kiss, he figured he could give you that. He mouth parts, waiting for your move, only for you to whisper against his lips, “Fuck your princess.”
Well, fuck him if that didn’t make something in his head switch on. He brought up his legs, using the purchase the bed gave his feet and started pumping into you. You bounced atop him, your arms wrapping around his neck. The needy little moans spilling out of you and onto his lips, as your fingers tangled into his hair. He could feel you clenching around him and he knew he had you. Reaching a hand over, he rubbed at that little pearl, tapping at it on every downstroke. You finally broke with a choked yelp and he felt your vice grip surround him.
“Take it. Take it,” he babbles as your walls flutter around him, urging his balls to pull up, and let go. He heard your little squeak as he held you to him, shooting what had to be a week’s worth of cum. He feels you kiss him as he pumps into you. He knew you needed that. As he came down, you milked him a couple of times, squeezing gently as you laid on his chest.
Rolling off of him, you turn to him, his eyes closed and his breathing quieting.
“Still cold?” He chuckles at your question, licking his lips and turning towards you.
“It wouldn’t be such a problem, if your other one didn’t insist on hogging the covers.” Sighing, you read his comment for what it is. Ransom would never ask to be held. Ransom doesn’t need you.
“It’s not that you’re cold. You’re actually hot. You’re a furnace. You don’t retain heat, you radiate it.” He smirks at your analysis, readying a smart comeback, you cut him off, “Go take a shower.”
He snickers before sitting up and searching for his underwear that’s bunched at the bottom of the bed. Purposely bending in front of you to bring his boxer briefs up, he makes sure you get a show of it. He knew you needed that.
Opening the bedroom door, you hear him remark, “You can go in now, puppy.”
“Ran,” you scolded him, to which he holds his hands up and walks out.
Grabbing the duvet from the edge of the bed, you see Jake come in with a mug of what hopefully is Bucky’s freshly brewed coffee.
“Okay to come back in?” You nod at his question as he nudges the door close with his foot, before approaching you with a Yoda mug.
“Bucky is still working on breakfast. It’s French toast day. He was still dipping the toast in egg when I went down, so the coffee wasn’t ready yet. But he walked me through the whole process.” You smiled at Jake as he rambles. More than likely he’s already had his morning cup waiting to return to bed. Accepting the mug, you take a few snips before putting it down on the nightstand.
“Come back to bed,” Lifting the duvet, you reach for Jake. He doesn’t need to be told twice. Hurrying to his side of the bed, he whips his hoodie off and throws it towards his desk. Climbing in behind you, he’s quick to pull you against him. Griping your waist, he slips his hand into the front of your underwear. Hooking his hand around you, he feels your swollen lips and the stickiness of Ransom slowly leaking out of you.
“He left her here like this. She’s all puffy, but still needs something to fill her. Don’t worry, I’ll take care of her,” you whimper as he gathers the little spend that has leaked out and pushes it back into you with his fingers.
Relaxing behind you, he leaves smalls kisses onto the nape of your neck. His fingers still inside you, sporadically tapping at your sweet spot.
“I love you, Jakey,” you whisper, as you begin to nod off to sleep.
Jake smiles behind you, tugging you closer, “My precious.”

Modern!Tommy headcanons
(this could just be my thoughts splat onto a page but have fun! also no beta read we die like tommy's sexuality the moment he saw alfie solomons)
If that man could take his computer to bed with him, he would
He runs on cigarettes and coffee
I feel like he would totally have those machines that are super intricate about making coffee
Usually an apple loyalist but buys add-ons from others (think headphones, charging cables, other Bluetooth items)
Listens to The Neighborhood, Drake, Hozier, Eminem, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Kendrick Lamar, Bastille
Exclusively buys from Boss, started as a joke with his brothers but then he realized he really likes the suits he bought
Owns a bunch of clubs and knows about the best clubs to go to if you want a good time
Likes to eat expensive food but will never turn down Italian take out at horrible hours of the night
Absolutely owns a pair of those Bluetooth Raybans that play music discreetly
Favorite movies are the Tobey Maguire Spidermans, Star Wars (only the New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, and Rise of Skywalker)
Has better figured out his own mental health and sexuality
this👏man👏is👏bisexual👏 (it radiates off him, takes one to know one)
since it is more widely accepted, he feels a little better about it
he absolutely had his first bi panic when he would banter with Freddie
that and EVERY interaction with Alfie
alfie bought him a tiny pride flag which he keeps in his desk, right next to his incredibly expensive alcohol ~x fem!Reader headcanons (m! in part 2)~ warnings: kinda unethical office workplace relationship?
its become a joke of sorts about being tommy's secretary around his family
this all stemmed from him taking an interest in you when you applied
you really were gorgeous to him
you're the only person he is slightly comfortable around besides the Blinders or his own family
the longer you work with him, the more comfortable he gets
after awhile, he (politely, our boy is respectful) asks you to call him Tommy instead of 'Mr. Shelby'
he is one of the most sought after men in the city which makes him very alluring to most
you don't super see it, he's always been very "normal" around, not the silver tongued devil most people knew him as
it wasn't that you didn't like him, you really did, his gorgeous frame, his perfect eyes, his slender fingers, his dark hair, everything was amazing except for the fact that he never really showed any interest in you, to him (you thought), you were his secretary, nothing more
oh how wrong you were
this all changes one late night, him still tirelessly working and you still there making sure that he doesn't stay there all night
it doesn't take much for him to just keep running on fumes so it usually falls upon you to remind him what god awful hour it is
you gently crack open the door and poke your head in
"Hey, Tommy, it's almost 1, pack it up and get some actual sleep."
He rolled his neck and closed his computer, just before packing everything up, he stops
"Cmon 'ere"
It was simple and you knew what could happen if something were to go down but you could find a new job if you had to
The Shelby building was quiet and the only office with any lights on was his
You leaned on the side of his desk and he opens the big drawer at the bottom
He procures the bottle of probably very expensive alcohol and starts pouring you one
"Why do you stay so late? Making sure I go home isn't in your contract."
You thought about it, it had become such a part of your daily cycle
"I guess I've just gotten used to it. Seemed like the right things to do after awhile."
He thanks you quietly and hands your glass of the whiskey he had poured
This was the softest you had ever seen him, you decided to capitalize off of it
"I've never understood it, why are you so comfortable with me Tommy?"
He nods slowly, knowing he would have to explain himself soon
"Polly says I don't 'ave my head straight yet, so my answer won't do you much good."
You, of course, weren't satisfied with that answer so you decided to play a hunch
By this hour of the night, his hair was rather disheveled so you tentatively ran your finger through it, fixing it for him
a small smirk bloomed on your lips when his expression seemed to soften more
This sort of tension was now a pattern for the two of you
The tension got to such a height that after awhile, late at night, he would just pull you into his lap and have his hand wrapped around your waist
You like to run your hands through his hair or trace his jaw with your fingertip
this is just how it is for the two of you and both of you like that <3

I've recently been watching these very interesting Star Wars video essays on YouTube (yeah I know, a rare breed) and it brings up these comments Lucas has made about how he views Star Wars as almost like a silent film in terms of how important the visuals are to him in comparison to the dialogue. But this essay also points out how important Lucas finds all of the "rhyming" moments in his trilogies and the way he utilizes them to remind you of something else for emotional or thematic reasons. And there's so many of them, both in visuals and in dialogue, and it's interesting to consider how important this is to him, the repetition for a purpose as well as the storytelling through visuals above everything else and then to look at Star Wars since the Prequels came out and realize how little has really been able to match up to those ideals since then.
The ONLY thing that's come out since the Prequels that I think really hits these two things the same way is, in fact, Andor. One of the things I noticed about the way people discussed Andor as it was airing in a way I haven't really seen for any of the other shows or films was the visual SYMBOLOGY. So many times I saw people noticing the Imperial cog everywhere, from the aerial shot of Narkina 5 as the prisoners escape to the architecture of Mon Mothma's house. There were people picking up on the use of items in Luthen's shop that are familiar from other things to give this idea that Luthen is from another time, he's attempting to preserve this world he lost, that if you're not looking closely enough you won't notice what he's really saying or doing with this shop. The color choices for the different locations and people got analyzed because the people involved spoke about how they intentionally utilized color to SEND A MESSAGE about the characters and the world. We know that the people who made the costumes and sets really worked hard to treat Star Wars almost like a period drama and study the history of the franchise as if it were a real place so that the things they came up with felt like they belonged in this world everyone knows so well even if it's completely new. And of course there were all of the myriad references to things from Rogue One, the constant repetition of "climb", the sunset on the beach, etc.
Nearly EVERY SHOT in this show was created with so much intention behind it in order to say something meaningful about the characters, the world, this specific story they're in, and the overall saga of Star Wars itself. It's insane how much greater impact this show was able to achieve through the incredibly careful usage of visual symbols and thematic repetitions, much like Lucas did before them. It feels like they didn't just study the history of the galaxy far far away, but they studied the history of STAR WARS and what Lucas was trying to do and say with this story. They peeled back his onion a bit more and were able to create something that really has that same visual feel even when it's not created for a child audience. It also is experimenting with its narrative style through its structure and through Cassian's character being allowed to be somewhat more reactive than proactive, and while that didn't work for everyone, it does feel like it's following in Lucas's footsteps of experimentation through Star Wars. Push the boundaries of what Star Wars is and can be and what you can say with it.
But this only works because they peeled the onion back enough to TRULY understand all of the messages Lucas was sending with it. They got the heart of Star Wars and despite its lack of space wizards, despite the lack of most major characters in the Saga, this was a show that honestly got the message more than just about anything else Star Wars has put out since the Prequels. The choices between selflessness and selfishness, the themes about how you always HAVE to make a choice even when it feels like you don't have any (sometimes ESPECIALLY when it feels like you don't have any), and how important it is to make sure to choose the path of compassion above everything else. The themes of connection to others, the symbiotic circle and the impact even the smallest person can have on world around them, it's RIGHT THERE and it's CENTRAL to Andor's storyline.
So yes, it experiments a little with narrative structure, but it's possibly the most Star Wars thing to exist Revenge of the Sith because it honestly truly GETS what Star Wars was about, both in its themes and in its filmmaking. A lot of people said that Andor didn't feel like Star Wars to them, usually because of the lack of space wizards and the fact that it's not a story aimed at children. But to me, Andor is EXACTLY what Star Wars is and has always been. They're stretching the boundaries of what Star Wars can be, but it's saying the exact same things Star Wars has always said, it's just saying it slightly differently. This doesn't feel like fanfiction to me, not really. Unlike things like the Mandoverse or the books, Andor isn't just taking some of the toys out of the sandbox and going to play with them somewhere else. Andor is IN that sandbox. It's building a slightly different sandcastle, but it's still within the sandbox, using the same sand that Lucas did.

Hi. I love your fanfic's, especially Star Wars. ♥️ Can you write something with Tech with the prompt: "Forgive my unkindness, but you are very pleasant to look at." Where Tech sees the reader who just got out of the bath in her room in just her panties, singing a dance song. She sees him and maybe this could end in a make out session? xoxo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Author's Note: Aww thank you, I'm glad you enjoy my stuff! It's been awhile since I've written for Tech, so let's give this a shot, I hope this is close enough to your prompt :3
Summary: Tech accidentally walks in on you putting on a show for one in the refresher, and decides to stay for a minute.
Relationships: Tech/Fem!Reader
Warnings: Lewd but not full NSFW, Making out, Tech is a suave nerd,
Word Count: 1261
Tumblr media
It's a miracle in the first place that Tech managed to get the hot water working for the Marauder's refresher again, considering circumstances. He has so many repairs to work on at any one time and with hot water not being necessary for life, the lot of you have been used to bathing in frigid water for a decent bit now.
Getting another mechanic in GAR to fix it would be completely fruitless; For the previous reason, as well as that GAR's rare amount of mechanics are always either off base or trying to solving any myriad of other technical issues. Many of them wouldn't even look at a submitted request like that unless they were bored and just off lunch break.
Needless to say you're eager to get use out of it, having dipped into the refresher once the Batch all left for some mandatory training drills. They don't need them, but it's entertainment you guess, as well as the fact that GAR considers them mandatory for every clone.
It's not as if you don't trust them to be in the ship while you shower, it's more so that bathing is your one time to really relax and unwind; So you're eager to do so without various clanking and shouting in the background.
Your datapad on the tiny counter plays some random music you've collected over the years, the words just barely audible above the noise of the water spraying onto your body and the metal walls of the shower stall. You'd love to use your much larger shower at home, but you're stuck with this for the time being. It could be worse, all things considered. With no one around there's no concerns about anyone hearing your enthusiastic singing, belting along to lyrics and mumbling the words you can't remember fast enough. It's fun; You really needed this after all of the high-wire stress that's been going on.
With your hair finally clean however there isn't much reason to remain in the shower any longer lest you waste water, so you turn it off and step out. You had set out some fresh clothes to change into before getting in, grabbing a towel and drying off before slipping on your top and underwear. Your hair is still slopping wet even after giving it a quick tussle with the towel, and you elect to let it air dry while you work on drying off your legs.
The entire time you sing along to the next song that pops on, distracted by the much more easily heard music now that the water is turned off. You shuffle along with the music the best you can while trying not to slip,
It's at this point you realize you hadn't locked the door, as it slides open while you're half bent over. The music is still playing as Tech looks up from the datapad in his hands, realizing you're barely clothed; Hair still dripping water. Judging by the quiet he's the only one back from drills. He doesn't say anything for a moment, lips closed but eyebrows raised in the slightest hint of surprise.
Standing back upright you lean your hip into the small counter, looking up at Tech standing in the doorway.
"Need something?"
Tech is tall enough to the point that his head is almost brushing against the top of the door at his full height, though it's not as if the Marauder's core shell was designed with premium comfort and stretching room in mind. He pushes up the left side of his goggles with his hand before finally speaking up. Your foot is still tapping to the beat as he does.
"Forgive my leering, but you are very pleasant to look at. I, hadn't expected to find you here."
You'd perhaps be a bit more miffed about him walking in, if he wasn't so fucking cute.
Taking a step to fully enter the refresher he still holds his datapad in his right hand, while the left reaches up and cups gently around your jaw. You can feel the rough fabric of his glove against your skin, thumb gently brushing against your cheek. Your eyes gently close in anticipation of what's to come. Tilting your head upward he quickly leans in to press his lips against yours, googles pressing awkwardly into your skin. You don't mind, but Tech uses his other hand to push them onto his forehead anyways; Just to make things easier.
It allows you to kiss him even more deeply, arms wrapping around his shoulders- fingers tangling in the short hair at the nape of his neck. His free hand lays in the dip of the middle of your back, fingers brushing against the top of your ass. It pushes your hips against his own, as his tongue brushes against your bottom lip.
You moan into his mouth as he takes the tiniest step closer to you, feeling his breath against your face as he only parts to take the shortest, quickest breath.
To think only a short while ago he'd confessed to not really knowing how to kiss- How quick a learner he is.
Pulling away from your lips with a soft pop you can feel the heat on his skin, hand still just above your ass.
"I do have to return to the others."
You pull back and glare at him, kiss swollen lips the main focus of his eyes as you scold him.
"You come in here and kiss me like that only to tell me you're leaving again?" Tech's face is his normal neutral expression, though from so long of being near him you can see the smug satisfaction in his eyes and coating his voice.
This isn't the first time he's left you high and not dry, so to speak. He seems to find the idea of you pining for him while he's unattainable to be enjoyable. The both of you haven't even been in a relationship for that long, and you can already count multiple times he's grasped your thigh or waist, leaning over your shoulder to help you, knowing that those sorts of things turn you on- only to walk off.
Infuriating bastard.
You're suddenly well aware of your half dressed state again, as Tech pulls his goggles back into place and covering the marks they always leave. He leans down to press a bit more chaste kiss to the corner of your mouth, your eyes fluttering closed; But when you attempt to deepen it, he pulls away and you whine.
"I am assuming since you've finished with your shower, you're going to join us?" You cross your arms.
"I don't know. Maybe." It's hard not to smile, while being a bit of a brat that he won't shrug off his brothers just for a moment after riling you up like that. He can see right through it either way.
"That's not going to get me to stay, if that is your plan." You roll your eyes, and pick your pants up off the counter.
"I'll be there in a minute. Right behind you." Gently removing his hand from you back, it brushes along your side in a way you don't know if intentional or not. He then walks off with little fanfare, leaving you to start slipping on your pants with the door still open. With one hand you to turn off the music that had been playing the entire time. You don't know if he's still in the ship when you mumble while tugging on your pants:
"Fucking tease..."

Twenty Questions for Fic Writers
Thank you @yoellglia, @kingfisherprince and @shambolicchaos for tagging me even though I haven't done one of these in months, I appreciate it <3 And look at this, I am actually doing a tag game.
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 57. How did that happen.
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
418,066. Some of those 57 are pretty long ;-)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Well I won't list them all, we'll be here tomorrow. The published ones are mainly: Tatort, Good Omens, Potter, Tennis RPF, Skating RPF and a few Music RPFs. There's an awful lot of WiPs from Sherlock Holmes to Poirot to Star Trek to Oasis to Austen to various Panel Shows to Les Miz to The Hobbit and back again though. Plus WiPs for all the published fandoms. Sigh.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Alright this is going to be a trip down memory lane, seeing as I'm mostly active in very niche fandoms these days. Also, this statistic is perhaps skewed by the fact that lots of my fics are in German (a few nearly made it onto the list though!) and my RPF is locked (for registered users only).
Days in the Sun: Tops the list by a very long way. Harry Potter. A Snape/Hermione post war fic published in 2018. I'm a different writer these days but I still like lots of things about it.
To Trust in One Another: Good Omens. Aziraphale/Crowley post Season 1. I remember the response to this overwhelming me at the time, I had never gotten so many comments so quickly after posting and haven't since. This fandom is so lovely (and filled with writers!).
To those who wait, eventually: Harry Potter. Snape/McGonagall. I love this pairing and this story. And while I am very surprised that both the Potter Fics I actually published are het, I am not surprised they both feature Severus Snape.
Almost Too Kind, or: Prometo: Figure Skating RPF. Yuzu/Javi. I still like the Yuzu POV, although I think I've perhaps written more interesting skating stories, but this was obviously the most popular parinig at the time. Hence the amount of kudos I guess.
Language Barrier Sidestepped: Figure Skating RPF. Yuzu/Javi. This one surprised me because it's just a silly fluffy oneshot. But with some language nerdship in the title and the story (that part is less surprising, if you know me)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Always, and sometimes too verbosely :D I like a good comment discussion and I have made friends that way.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Angsty endings? Me? I would if I could. Maybe some day. I guess the angstiest one is this unrequited love drabble in the Tatort Münster Fandom.
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Well, most of them have pretty happy endings, I think.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not so far. Most of the comments I get are really nice. I can remember only a handful slightly weird ones over the years.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
No one is more surprised than me, but yes. In my case, it's usually part of a story and has a function in the story. But it can be pretty graphic because it's weird to me to treat sex as something to gloss over. That being said, sometimes a story decides on a fade to black. On the other end of the spectrum, I've also come pretty close to writing PwP, depending on your definition of it.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
Never written one, very rarely read them.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not that I'm aware of.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
People have asked for permission several times and I always grant it (of course I do) but I don't think I've ever gotten a link to a finished translation (which I always ask for). I get it though, some of my stories are pretty long and I know all about the difficulties of translation :-)
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
It's not finished but I hope we can get back to it @kingfisherprince! I might not always be the easiest person to work with, but I thoroughly enjoyed it so far.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I don't have one, I write whatever pairing is interesting to me. And would love to write more gen fic if inspiration strikes. The concept of an OTP used to make no senses to me either, though I guess I've come close with Novandy in the Tennis fandom. I still write lots of other stuff in that fandom though.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have trouble going back to the Potter stuff for various reasons. Would love to finish a Snarry which is already at almost 30k but doubt I will. I also have a Poirot/Hastings case fic I really want to finish but (see writing weaknesses)
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm not sure. I hope Í write realistic relationships that make sense in the story. I try to write clear prose that's not too cluttered (I don't always succeed). Sometimes with my longer fics I've managed to slightly miraculously tie things together, which is amazing to me when it happens but I can't control that at all.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
I sometimes overexplain. I tend to forget about 'setting the scene' descriptions now and then. And the big one: I can't plot for the life of me, I write as I go along, which isn't always a problem but definitely is when you try to write a murder mystery (I've got an unfinished Poirot one and an unfinished Tatort Münster one which I would love to continue).
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I like it, though I tend to use it relatively sparingly and either add translations or try to make it clear in other ways in the text what was being said (a translation degree comes in handy for this).
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Well the first time I tried writing fic it was Kirk/Spock but the first thing I finished and published was Tatort Münster.
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
Don't do this to me. The answer will be different every day, I think, and for lots of reasons. This is not me being pretentious (I hope), because I would have just as much trouble choosing my favourite song or book etc. Let's pick Two and Two Together for today because I never would have thought I'd write a 42k poly fic, but here we are. I think we've established I sometimes surprise myself.
Tagging: I think most of the writers on my dash have been tagged... but maybe @bonos-grindcore-sideproject and @advantage-sinner and @savageandwise and @all-my-worlds-a-stage if you want to do it?

I have some completely unsolicited opinions to share that have nothing to do with Star Wars, but everything to do with art.
As some of you know, I started making digital art on an iPad, in Procreate, in January. I'm a semi-competent traditional artist and I've always scoffed just the tiniest bit at digital art because, I dunno, it kind of felt like cheating, in a way. You can make something that looks like an oil painting in Photoshop or Procreate or whatever, but it didn't take the same level of skill that actual oil painting requires. You do have to understand the principles, but you don't actually have to manipulate the paint. (Trust me on this, I'm a miserable oil painter.)
So, a month and a half in, now that I feel like I'm over the learning curve, has that opinion changed?
No. 😂
Learning a new program definitely takes work. I knew that it would, so I'm not discounting the fact that purely digital artists have a lot of skill, BUT there's one BIG way in which digital art is so much easier than everything I've tried traditionally- the ability to edit.
What do you MEAN I can make a terrible, project-ruining mistake and then just hit the magical undo button? Witchcraft! The perspective of this element is off? I don't have to try to erase it, or paint over it, or throw this piece of paper away because you can only erase so many times before it's ruined, no, I can select the wonky thing and manipulate it in any way I want! The entire piece is done but the colors don't feel like they mesh right? Just adjust the separate layers until they do!
Don't get me wrong, I feel like I'm in heaven every single day with all this magic at my fingertips (hundreds of brushes and paint colors somehow crammed into the mystical rectangle? I don't have to SCAN my art anymore? Will wonders never cease??) but I still maintain my snobbish opinion that digital art is just plain easier, at least for me. No more do I wonder how teenagers are practically professional artists. If you'd put this thing in my hand when I was 15...honestly I don't want to think of what could have been. It's depressing. 😅 I still have so far to go to get anywhere close to what my favorite digital artists can do. (But I'd bet a million dollars that they're all also better traditional artists than I am. Like I said, semi-competent.)
I'd love to hear what other artists have to say about this. Especially if you had a background in traditional art before you learned digital but, honestly I'm curious about the opposite perspective too!

last year i wrote a list of media that touched me. bcs i have shit for memory i was noting down things i watched, played etc. this year. so here's the list.
the city and the city by china miéville - loved it...
the longing - idle game that felt quite promising in the beginning. you play as a lonely shade that has to wait 400 days for his king to wake up. it can get kinda weird and idk how i feel about this anymore.
rain dogs - extremely bleak life circumstances, intense toxic friendship. 'fast food isn't good for you. but i fucking love it'
deadwood - very intriguing way of plotting a story of a settlement but some things abt were fucking stupid and i'm still frustrated when i think abt it. haven't finished the final season and i don't really feel like it.
vanished birds <- read this or else
dungeon meshi - most beautiful art with dynamically drawn creatures and beasts that then get shown being cooked into delicious (and nutricious!) meals in great detail. setting is a spoof of a stereotypical party adventure world but it tries to make sense of its rules and creates in turn something quite unique. great characters too.
wuthering heights - extremely good narrative device. never knew that we learn this story through a tale being told by a servant to some cringey guy. surprisingly well depicted psychology of the characters. reading abt child abuse upset me so bad. society will fuck you up. some ways to better your lot are closed to you based on your gender and race. fucking up people over generations. also moors. they're important.
ghost in the shell
barry - the fact that the show never lets him forget. the satire on show biz, loving the veterans. it's like a more clownish version of breaking bad in a way (both being concerned with morality). characters are caritaturish but everything they do is taken extremely seriously. also it's quite inventive with filmography. solid. loved it.
sangfielle - weird fiction arc of FaTT podcast.. extremely good setting
andor - they didn't lie when they said star wars can be good. abt opression and imperialism.. and droids done well.
repo man - plotted in a very fun way... unforgettable ending.
hellraiser - it was so promising. shouldn't have turned into tense rubic cube solving under most dire circumstances ever imo.
bg3 - the themes have made me insane. it managed to be cohesive. it's the. carousel of violence. cycle of abuse. relationship with power. trusting the other not to use violence against (even though they could). male manipulators. the dark urge. it's not without its faults and it should have been tighter (durge should be the main protag and no tav, chop down act 1, erase halsin)
the terror - such a mixed bag. a very good and tense thriller about imperialistic hubris but. they put a beast there. and the villain was??? idk man.
iasip (well technically i've been trying to watch it for years, but this year alone i watched like 4 seasons or maybe more) - i simply love iasip. its style of comedy that is irreverent. the mad schemes. awful dynamics. touching real darkness.
blowback (podcast) - about american imperialism. first season abt iraq war tone-wise feels like if behind the bastards and citations needed had a baby. recommended.
roadwarden - loved it. loved the setting!
anyway... i kinda stopped reading books after i quit my job (no longer commuting somewhere regularly so i stopped using my kindle). had plans to watch more movies but it's always a struggle to sit down and start watching. went to more than 0 galleries but not that many tbh. i sometimes don't know what to say and most of my comments are still pretty general and feel trite.

I've lived countless 28th of March through my life, but before you, they were always dull and boring days. but when you came along, two years ago, God has given me this date became something else. the mission to make this day as special as you are, and I've accepted it without a second thought.
you're more than my best friend - you're something else that i can't even find a word to describe. our souls know each other, like we were linked somehow before we were born because honestly. how were the odds of us meeting and becoming so close? it was written in the stars, I'm sure.
you've showed me what a true friendship is, what a best friend should be like, that I don't need to be useful to be loved. and i can't be more grateful for your life and the fact that you're yourself: you're one of the most beautiful souls God has ever created and I'm so glad he heard all my prayers and put you in my way.
on this birthday, I hope your heart is filled with happiness and love. i hope you understand you're not hard to love and that, in fact, not loving you is a person's biggest mistake. i hope all your dreams you talk about become true, and that this new cycle in your life is filled with everything good, because if one person deserves to be happy, it's us.
you're never ever escaping me. you're my best friend and ill fight for us everyday and i can't wait to be finally able to hug you and say all those things looking in your eyes.
happy birthday to my best friend, the Cordelia to my Lucie, the Ran to my Rindou, my favourite furry and shawarma lover.

There's also this reply about falling and parallels which yep I'm very much feeling today:
knowwww you're so right with him having fallen: I've been thinking about this a lot recently, how there are 2 parts to every fall we see in star wars. Part of it is the force side of things, where a person opens themselves up to this corrupting power and welcomes it in, but the other half doesn't really have anything to do with the force at all. It's about them betraying themselves. betraying their values and doing something so bad that they feel they can not come back from it. In this way, I think that anyone can fall, force or not, just like in irl.
There are so many parallels between various characters stories in star wars and Anakin's own. Tragic backstory is certainly a common one, you get the idea that even before the empire the galaxy is a cruel place. It chews up and spits out so many people. Being changed by unimaginable cruelty (slavery, poverty, the way people are living in Hutt space, the lower levels of Coruscant) is not a uncommon occurance. I always get this idea when I watch the prequels, that what we see of Anakin's life only scrapes the surface when it comes to the cruelty of the galaxy they live in. Anakin was one of the lucky ones! He was 'saved' from a life of slavery as a child. What about everyone else? Those who didn't get out?
In a lot of ways I think the empire got a foothold because there were so many people suffering in spite of the republic Palpatine had a wealth of choice when looking for people to manipulate! Because so many people were living cruel erel lives, lives, and likely didn't feel like they had a lot to lose! I definitely see a parallel between anakins fall, and Jango's own non force related 'fall. They lost themselves and really forgot who theyd once been, and the galaxy paid for that hugely. Jango was responsible for the life and therefore the death of every clone, he's maybe one of the few people that can get close to Vaders own death count.
There's also the fact that they both did it for love. Anakin lost himself trying to save his family. Jango lost himself because he'd already lost his. They both have this disproportionate approach to revenge. They both love their kids, that love was enough to save the galaxy from the consequences of Vaders actions in the end, Jango died before he could ever let his love for Boba save anyone from his own.

I’m sorry but there’s something I might be missing: why do all these anons who swear Jimin and Jungkook aren’t a couple there’s no way they are they’re just bandmates yada yada, keep coming all the way up here time and time again? (and most likely it’s always the same ppl lmao) This is a real question btw. Maybe some ppl just like to argue? I love debating though but they’re not even here to have an exchange. This is beyond me sorry. I’m not talking about ppl asking questions, sharing different perspectives. But to come here lose some time over something you’re oh so sure do not exist and basically tell us we’re so silly to believe Jikook could eventually be lovers and how we’re so biased and they’re not.. seems hella weird to me…
Lmao, I'm gonna theorize about people debating theories. How deep in the delulu bubble- deluluception.
Anyways, the reason these people do it is-
1. They might simply be tkkrs who lurk in jkk spaces. I've never ever explored the taekook tag on tumblr because I've never felt the need to. I get all my TK content from army twt itself. It's an old habit of tkkrs and old habits die hard.
2. Maybe they are jkkers who once believed/supported jikook dating and were 100% sure and then their delusions were shattered due to some shipper drama. And now they are in post delulu phase, coping hard by trying to make others experience the same shattering. (That's why I don't choose to believe in any ship being real. It's just too intrusive to assume about their personal lives)
< or maybe they are like that angry 🤡 in these spaces who is coping hard after finding out that 2 korean men who live thousands of miles away, in fact have parts of their lives that are private. >
3. They are probably trying to debunk the the jikook mysteries that can't be refuted and still remain top tier- above any other duo dynamics. Gcf tokyo is still the most romantic thing anyone has ever done in 875. Companion enlistment was very much by choice and not due to limited choices. JM tattoo still stares at you in your face. And jikook dynamics still baffle koreans themselves because of how much jk babies jimin. Doesn't change the fact that jikook just prefer to share their free time together and jungkook dedicatedly promoted Face more than Hybe could. (In his own way). Doesn't change the fact that jikook are close enough to bite necks and suck ears.
These anons are just trying to be like the rest of the OT7 army who OT7ify all duos. They are trying to discredit the biggest events between jikook so they can move on maybe.
That's why there is no point getting too much into a ship and scrutinizing how they live their lives. Ships are seriously one of the most fun and cute things about a fandom-giving us so many great pieces of art. Shipping has in fact existed since the Star Wars era. And it doesn't need to have any real life consequences. 875 already show us a lot of themselves on camera and there's no need to expect more. And Jikook are very much a comfort ship. Even though they might not be a real couple, the way they treat each other are relationship goals for me. Yes, the standards are very high!! And they have taught me a lot about love and friendship.
And if people come with ridiculous asks, they are just asking to be trolled, and we shall give them what they desire. 👍

five comfort characters!
tagged by @figthefruitfaeth @kkpwnall & @cheatghost <333 love you all!
Steve Harrington - Stranger Things
*the crowd goes mild bc of course he fucking is* What can I say? I'm just a girl, intricately planning for a nailbat tattoo, and hopelessly devoted to Steve Harrington. Blorbo of all time.
Poe Dameron - Star Wars
Despite the fact that my SW tattoo is not of Poe, he has been and will continue to be a comfort character! There was something so special about seeing a Latine lead in a Star Wars movie, as someone who has loved SW (for better and for worse) my entire life. As soon as I started hc'ing him as bisexual, it was over for me.
Martino Rametta - Skam Italia
Most of y'all weren't here for my SKAM days. I've seen most of the remakes and every time I need some comfort, I rewatch OG, España, and Italia. Martino <3 I was struggling with my sexual identity around the time that his season was airing so I always find comfort in it <3 (was very close to choosing Cris from Skam España and will include her as an honorable mention)
Sally Albright - When Harry Met Sally
I was going to say she is the least like me, but as someone who relates too hard to the scene where she's crying and says "I'm too structured! I'm completely closed off!" I realize that we are the same brand of neurotic and I love that for us.
Snoopy
Not much to say. Love snoop. Love Peanuts. Will be sending all my friends Peanuts postcards very soon <33

Hi, i hope doing good. Can i have a Romantic Star Wars matchup please. I'm genderfluid, bisexual with male preference. A Libra, Infp, 5w4 if you interested. I have long black wavy hair. I have thick black eyebrows, brown eyes. I always have rosy cheeks. My body is curvy with very big chest and little tummy. Also i'm 172 cm. I always have poker face. Those who know me for the first time describe me as cold, quiet, scary and distant. I'm only close to two or three people. They describe me as cold, soft inside, calm, resourceful and knowledgeable. They say I make clever jokes and I'm the mom-friend. And i hate phsyical touch. My love language is words of affirmation. And I'm a switch in a relationship. If I talk about myself, I've always been on my own. I have family problems, I was never close with my father. Even though we are side by side with my mother, we are distant. I'm just my own mom and dad. That's why I've always focused on academic achievement for salvation. And I think I'm very good at it. My hobbies are drawing, sewing, writing and researching, especially about mythology, cultures, history, fashion. I always wear my headphones and listen to music. I like silence, soft colors, being alone, flowers (especially honeysuckle), spring and breeze. I don't like crowds, noise, children, loud talkers and shiny things. I always wear colorful clothes with floral prints. I also wear interesting earrings and different printed socks. And finally, I don't really have an ideal type. I love every person. I like the fact that there are different people.

I'm doing well, rinkutakime! Thank you for your request, and congrats on being my first matchup for this account. It was a tough battle deciding who to pair you up with considering how vast the world is, but I think Obi-Wan suits you quite well.
Hope you like it, bare with me, and may the force be with you.
Tumblr media
Whether you're a force user or not, it's safe to say you and Obi-Wan would be quite the infamous couple. (Granted, if he's still a part of the order when you get together your relationship status might not be public, but your reputation in helping him execute strategy certainly would be.)
He's a fairly balanced individual, and while his dedication to the order might not always be the most pleasant, causing him to likely butt heads with you from time to time? There isn't going to be any issue that goes unresolved with him as your partner.
One of the things he admires most about you would be your knack for research and overall knowledge. It comes in handy in the least likely circumstances, and it's safe to say he'd be fairly interested in whatever you had to say even if it weren't related to work.
Believe it or not, knowledge of history, culture, and mythology is quite handy in their line of work, especially with how many planets they venture to on official business. If you were to apply this knowledge to learning languages or battle tactics? You'd become practically invaluable. He's perfectly aware of this.
Besides- someone who's capable of competing with him verbally? Oh, he's treasuring every conversation, debate, and meeting with you he can possibly get in.
Another thing he'd certainly love about you is your wit. Anyone who's watched the Clone Wars knows that this man is the absolute king of one-liners, and having someone capable of making clever jokes and retorts- even if he is the butt of them- would make him the happiest Jedi around.
He's most definitely fantasized about what life with you outside of the war would be like. Attachment is forbidden in the order, so the fact that he's committed to going as far with you as he has means he's ready to go the whole nine yards if he has to. If he has to leave, he has to leave. This is something he's come to terms with.
Another pro of being with Obi-Wan is that he isn't afraid to compliment you. I feel like words of affirmation is something he'd lean into regardless of whether or not it's your love language, but the second he becomes aware of how much you appreciate it he's doubling down when he can.
Not engaging in physical touch isn't much of a problem for him either. On the off-chance that you were okay with contact at any point in time, he'd be delighted, but he isn't exactly needy in that department. He'll treasure what he can get all the more- after all, it is from you. The rarer it is, the more valuable.
I feel like he's certainly poked at that colder exterior of yours a few times, teasingly. He knows you're not all fire and brimstone (your love for bright colors and floral patterns, for one, help to make that more obvious), but the way people tend to perceive you as spooky has amused him on more than one occasion.
You've startled more than one shiny on several occasions.
It's gotten to the point where bets may or may not have been made with Cody and his men regarding the very issue. Will they scare the new recruits this time? Or will the newbies pass this rite of courage?
I only jest, though this is certainly something about you that Kenobi doesn't dislike.
He's a fairly busy man, so you'll get plenty of free time where he's involved.
He looks forward to coming back and seeing you if you don't end up on missions with him, but perfectly understands if you're not recharged enough to hang out.
Furthermore, if you happen to run out of your social battery while you're out with him, he's going to be looking for an opportunity to get you out of there as soon as possible.
An odd thing to note, but your habit of wearing patterned socks and earrings entertains him.
He looks forward to the next time he sees you because he's curious as to which pair you'll end up wearing next.
Has snagged you a pair of earrings or socks at least once while he was out because they reminded him of you and he thought you'd enjoy them. It's one of his ways of showing you he was thinking about you while he was out.
He likely leaves you notes to update you on things going on, like where he was headed or what he'd done that day. This is both a for when you're not in the mood to hang with people thing and a you were asleep and he wanted to keep you posted thing.
Quite frankly, I don't think he minds you being a switch either. He's totally cool with it.
He's probably let you sew up his uniform a few times when it gets damaged, assuming you showed interest in doing so.
Overall, it's a pretty solid, healthy relationship built on communicated boundaries and mutual respect. He's in it for whatever the force may bring, so treat him well and he'll give you the world. Or perhaps the universe, if you're into that.
Tumblr media
Dear me, this was rather fun to write. With all the groundwork and deliberation that went into deciding just who would be selected for the official matchup (there were more than five candidates at one point, dear lord) it's really satisfying seeing it all come together in a coherent manner. I certainly hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. May the force be with you, and your day be as pleasant as the ocean's abyss is deep.
For those of you who are new here, I take requests. You can find the rules here.

ANDOR is great, but not like that
Ok, here we go. I need to talk about Andor - I love this show so much, and so I've been watching lots of content about it, especially analysis videos. And while I would technically immediately join in on praising this show into absolute oblivion, I often find myself disagreeing with one specific idea - that Andor is "The Best of Star Wars".
When I first heard someone say that, I didn't know why I hesitated to agree. After all, technically, I'd say they're right - Andor is brilliantly written, has great dialogue, beautiful practical and CGI effects, incredible characters, acting, themes, etc. But I realised, there's a few reasons why I do not think that Andor is or can be called the epitome of Star Wars. First of all - I don't think there can be such a thing as "The Best of Star Wars". The franchise is far too massive and varied to pick something out as the best thing. You simply can't compare Andor, a live-action show with a very dark story and incredibly tragic characters, to The Clone Wars for example - an animated childrens' show that will simply have different restrictions (and benefits!). But secondly...while I adore Andor, I think that it does lack something important to even be considered the best of Star Wars specifically for me. Quite simply, Andor is just too different from the rest of the franchise. It isn't Star Wars enough. Does that make it bad? Oh hell no. They shouldn't be trying to make it more Star Wars! It's perfectly fine as it is! But I think that while it is better on a technical level than most other Star Wars media, putting it on a pedestal over the rest of the franchise is doing a complete disservice to what made SW so popular in the first place. Because no, the OT and especially the PT are not better stories, or movies, than something like Andor. They're kind of cheesy, sometimes a bit muddled, and campy as hell. But I also wouldn't change them one bit (ok, I do have some bones to pick with the PT but shh)! Luthen's speech is amazing, it's beautiful dialogue, nothing in those movies comes close to it on a technical level! But Star Wars didn't get popular through dramatic speeches. In fact, the sometimes stilted dialogue is part of it's charm as a series. The campy sci-fi elements, the humour, it's all part of what makes Star Wars what it is. Andor is excellent at highlighting the more gritty part of the story, and executes the political themes wonderfully. But in Star Wars, for me, it will always just be showing one side of what the franchise has to offer. This isn't a bad thing. I'm glad Andor does its own thing. But it simply isn't close enough to the heart of this franchise to be the best part of it. And now, here we can argue all day, but for me, the core of Star Wars is and always will be the OT and the PT combined. While I might enjoy the OT more, the PT is undeniably incredibly important to what the franchise is today and so so much to the table. I don't think I need to mention the sequels (but jar-jar binks had more goddamn plot relevance than several sequel characters. just saying.) But, what I will say, it is the best of what Disney+ Era Star Wars has to offer. Because shedding the classic Star Wars feel for Andor was a decision that makes it a little less Star Wars to me - but it also makes the show work better in its own merit. And at the end of the day, no lightsaber battle, no cute reference, no beautiful scenery will EVER make up for how much these shows are simply empty husks lacking any real passion or fresh ideas for the franchise. And it's a real damn shame, because they could all have been beautiful. But Andor works - not even because of how damn good it is, but honestly because there has to be someone who truly makes us want to love these characters, because they cannot rely on us simply knowing them already. And that's when Star Wars is best! When someone makes something new, and you can just feel the passion and love for the world and the story and characters through the screen. And wether that be through how much George Lucas filling the PT with bad CGI just because he CAN, or through how beautifully tragic Cassian Andor's story is, I truly do not give a fuck.
I went a bit off-topic there lmao, but TL;DR: Andor is brilliant, and better on a technical standpoint than most other SW media. But not only is the franchise too vast to have a "best" part, Andor only shows a very specfic facet of what the franchise can be, and that's completely fine. It's definitely better than all other live action Disney+ SW shows though.
