“What’s your name?” He asks.

“Y/N,” you respond, still looking at him confused.

“Why do you look so confused?” He giggles, and it’s such a sweet sound.

You shrug, “Cute boys don’t usually talk to me.”

You wait for him to recoil at the fact that you called him cute because why would any guy want you to show interest in them?

“You’re a pretty girl. Why wouldn’t I wanna talk to you?”

That’s the first time a guy has ever called you pretty.

From that point forward, it was like Jake was stuck to you.

You couldn’t shake him off no matter what you did.

He even got offers to hang with the popular crowd, but he chose you.

When he confessed to you, you couldn’t believe it.

“Is this a joke?”

His brows are furrowed as he looks at you.

“Why would this be a joke?”

You look down, scuffing your feet across the pavement.

“Because I’m always the butt of somebody’s joke, and I’m tired of it.”

His eyes soften, and he comes to wrap his arms around you, pulling you into a hug.

And you believe him.
