From Live Performances to Conferences: A Shift in Entertainment and Engagement
What was the last live performance you saw? In our fast-paced world, our choices for entertainment and engagement have evolved. For many, live performances were once a cherished pastime, offering a unique blend of excitement and artistry. However, as life progresses and priorities shift, the landscape of leisure activities can change. Reflecting on personal experiences, I realized that my…

hey I know it can be disappointing when a character doesn't look how you expect, but please remember that real people with real features like big chins see what you say about characters' appearances and internalize it

hot take but I think that those youtubers who 'expose' alleged mental illness or medical condition fakers are doing more harm for the rhetoric surrounding mental illness-and the people who really have it-than the people supposedly faking it to begin with.
#i mean neither are good but like#what they do is set a precedent of doubt whenever someone makes (mental) illness claims#it sets a precedent of finding and uncovering people who fake it and is just very bad imo.#inevitably i think this makes life ahrder for people who experience these conditions#especially for those who myabe have it but don't check off every symptom#and have to worry about maybe being seen as a faker since they don't have the msot extreme or visible case#idk. just rambling#worth noting this usually goes for things i do not have so i cannot in detail give opinions on specific diagnoses that this trend applies t#to*#however i do stand by this opinion as of right now#at worst. fakers spread misinformation and monetize/benefit from mental illness they do not have#at worst the people who expose this set a societal and online culture revolving around finding out who's REALLY got things#and who REALLY experiences it#which just. is icky. you aren't entitled to knowing anything about anyone's medical history.#plus imo if someone goes out of their way to fake something for attention then. there's probably a mentally ill brain doing it#like ok you don't have whatever you're claiming but like. mentally well people don't fake things like that usually#is this a cold take?????? like if i'm wrong then i AM open to other opinions and i'll change mine#but my initial opinion on this is it icks me out#inabber this is a pointed message. iirc he also made amber heard jokes#which like. i think no matter what side you're on with that#maybe. don't joke about domestic abuse. or alleged abuse if that's your stance on it.#like either way that's just shitty#ANYWAYS.

The one I call inevitable is like, chest dysphoria and voice dysphoria (which HRT and surgery have helped alleviate!) while the societal one is the idea that I must be lean and muscular to be masculine, that my soft, round tummy makes me less of a man. Gender affirming care can 100% help with the first one! The second one is maybe the one I need to work on myself. But yeah, the guilt is definitely there. I feel like I should be happy, and I feel ungrateful.
I totally get where you're coming from... like, it sucks living in a world that values solely your ability to conform properly, and I don't think you're ungrateful at all for feeling that pressure. It absolutely can help to work through those feelings, but I think part of it is a broader function of society, one that simultaneously forces you to conform effortlessly, and yet shames those who strive to achieve the standard or who cannot reach that standard easily. I think trans people are especially sensitive to that because of the added layer of our gender and livelihood being up for debate. I don't think it helps us to ignore that, and it's so important that you've recognized your feelings and how it is impacted by those factors. I know this is hard to internalize, but you are not ungrateful - you're a person. You are doing your best even if it doesn't "feel like it." And you are certainly not alone in your insecurities, or dysphoria, or whatever you are feeling

Having been in the Vo/tron fandom from very shortly after S1 first aired and having stayed at least adjacent to it for the whole long slog up to present day is a curse for many reasons but also because it means most every time I see people try to explain the origin of the anti movement I have to cringe at all the things they are confidently getting wrong
And I’m not going to say anything, I did not save receipts or document this whole stupid phenomenon because it gave me a headache then and it gives me a headache now and I am simply not interested in being your discourse historian
But I am just standing in a corner like

I will never forgive the gross mischaracterization of Daenerys as a heartless girlboss when all Dany has ever really wanted for herself is a home and a family of her own. She is driven by love, not power, and she wants to be queen because she wants to be able to protect people the way she herself was never protected.
And she wants to be queen of the seven kingdoms *specifically* because she has been told all her life that the smallfolk were waiting for the Targaryens to return and "save" them, and even if she doesn't wholly believe the grandiosity of those claims, all she's heard of Westeros in the past few years is how it's been riddled with war and famine and other horrible things, and it's her duty as someone with the power to potentially put a stop to all of that to do so.
She doesn't care about power, but she recognizes the power she does have, and she thinks it's wrong for people with that power to sit by and do nothing while there are innocents dying. Her "entitlement" to the throne does not come from any sort of Targaryen pride, it stems from her belief that she MUST take the throne in order to do more good, that if she does, she can fix her "home".
#♛ ooc. ⊱ ❝ 𝘖𝘩 𝘯𝘰 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘔𝘢𝘳𝘪. ❞#dany is not an ice queen!! she is not a 'girlboss' !!#hate that d&d made that idea prevelant#they had a horrible habit over the course of the show of stripping the women of 'femininity' and portraying that as weakness#they made arya think other girls were all stupid simply for being girly but book arya was a fierce protector of other girls#and demanded that other people treat them like they mattered too#show brienne completely shunned any idea of domesticity and saw traditional femininity as a weakness#but book brienne found it admirable in others. she deeply admired catelyn and remarked that women have a different kind of strength#book brienne wanted that for herself too but felt she could never have it bc she did not conform wholly to societal expectations#I can go on and on about this stupid trend of the erasure of anything traditionally associated with 'femininity'#because these traits are deemed as 'weak'#but the idea that women cannot want to be in love or to have families or else they are 'weak' and 'powerless' is SO FUCKING DUMB#so is the idea that masc-leaning & gnc women aren't allowed to want these things either bc it somehow 'invalidates' them?????#tying all of these *extremely human* wants desires and emotions to gender at all#is just another form of toxic masculinity and misogyny wrapped up in a bundle that gets marketed as empowering#everyone should be allowed to want what they want and *not* want what they don't and it doesn't make anyone more or less of ANYTHING for it
