People need to train their dogs and I’m not asking nicely anymore
#it’s kind of a sad situation actually and i don’t blame the owners so much in this situation#but there’s this lab in my neighbourhood. he’s always been kind of a bit much but in a friendly way#and when the woman who owns him used to walk him she had him super under control. he would walk close to her even if he was off leash#and he was kind of barky but i never knew him to be aggressive#well now the woman is in a home receiving care for alzheimers which is horrible; not least because she’s only about 50#so her husband is now the only person who walks this dog. also he is a cop so he works long hours and doesn’t exactly have a ton of time#to devote to giving this dog the level of exercise he needs. i really only see them walking at lunchtime and in the evening and it is short#walks; which is nowhere near enough for a young (i think he’s 4-5) labrador#hell; mabel (a 15.5 year old patterdale terrier) walks a little more often than he does and probably about as far#so it’s obviously unacceptable. like. we had a flatcoated retriever some years back and he probably got 3 hours of exercise a day#this lab probably gets half an hour if he’s lucky#so it’s a big problem. he’s pulling his owner’s arm off; he’s jumping up at people; he’s barking… he’s full on#and i still don’t think he’s aggressive but he’s certainly underexercised and badly socialised (was puppy/young dog during lockdown)#i always keep mabel away from him because she has a tendency to psych out dogs by staring into their souls & he is kind of unpredictable#my stepdad doesn’t know this though. and my stepdad was walking mabel today because i am still plagued by a hamstring injury#long story short the lab mouthed mabel. i don’t think he bit her but he certainly lunged and got his mouth on her neck#i managed to examine her after bribing her with an ice cube and her skin wasn’t red anywhere and there was no blood#but her shoulder was damp with saliva and she keeps wincing away and trying to snap at your hand if you touch her neck or shoulder#on that side; which to me indicates tenderness and probably a bruise forming (probably more from being butted with his huge snout#rather than the actual mouthing itself)#either that or me touching her reminds her of the incident and she now has a trauma and is upset#which is heartbreaking tbh because my girl loooooves dogs. that’s why she stares at them and pulls you towards them#she just doesn’t seem to understand that not all doggies or people are nice. i tried to explain to my stepdad like.. i don’t believe#this dog is dangerous but you need to give him space because he does not like mabel and he probably nipped her because she freaked him out#my stepdad doesn’t understand dogs. i’m not sure if he’s from planet earth honestly#anyway the moral of the story is TRAIN YOUR FUCKING DOGS#i feel sorry for the owner of the lab for a variety of reasons but the fact of the matter is that he would’ve been 100% responsible#if his idiot dog had injured mabel. and also i would’ve come to his house and beaten him with a baseball bat if that was the case#like i’m not afraid to get sent down for assaulting an officer. i think that is a great crime to commit#like. hire a dog walker. go to obedience training. do SOMETHING

Tumblr media
Three weeks ago there had been an anonymous complaint raised about your presence in the paddock when you were nothing more than a spectator. Apparently an emotional support animal wasn’t an acceptable reason to travel with Charles and it didn’t take a genius to figure out who laid the complaint.
“Are you sure you’re okay with this?” Charles asked as you placed a plate of food in front of him.
“I’m getting paid to do what I would normally do anyway,” you pointed out once again. “And dad said I needed to get a job.”
You had been hired by Ferrari to work in the hospitality building; running food orders, making drinks, tidying the driver’s rooms. Okay, maybe the job was more than you would normally do, but not by much. At least you were kept busy and boredom no longer plagued you.
“I didn’t realise you needed the money,” he murmured as he stabbed a seasoned chicken breast with his fork. His credit card in your handbag was yours to use however you wanted, he had assured you of that time and time again, and it was the only reason his apartment was furnished so brightly. You could never have done that on the measly savings in your bank account.
“I don’t, but I’m not going back to Monaco on my own.” That was the consequence if you didn’t become an employee, at least while the Covid restrictions were in place.
“Hmm, god knows what trouble you would get up to there on your own,” he chuckled, but the smile didn’t reach his eyes. Something had been off about him all morning, but you knew he would talk about it when he was ready so you let it drop.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” you said with a wink as you leaned closer and laid a napkin on his lap. “I believe you called me a good girl just last night.”
You left the dining area before he could respond and met Sebastian at the beverage station. He was another of the drivers you had befriended, though much like he was to Charles, it was more in a father-figure role. The German was a gentle soul and you always had time for him, even when he called you out for the feelings you thought you were able to conceal in public.
“You wear your heart on your sleeve,” he commented as you made his coffee - double shot espresso with a dollop of froth, no sugar.
“You obviously need this coffee to wake you up, Bassy, you are clearly dreaming,” you said as you placed it in front of him and showed your bare arms. “I have no sleeves.”
Sebastian smiled as he lifted the cup to his lips, the words entertaining him but not fooling him. “There is a little get together tonight with some of the other drivers. I think everyone is feeling a little isolated from society right now and could do with socialising. You should come.”
You gave a noncommittal shrug because you weren’t sure if Charles would be one of those other drivers, he hadn’t mentioned anything to you. “Maybe, it depends how busy I am picking up your dirty laundry.”
“My wife trained me well, maybe you are thinking of the wrong room.” He placed the empty mug down and departed with a wink.
The rest of the day passed quickly and you made yourself comfortable in Charles’ room while you waited for him to finish his media duties. It wasn’t unexpected that he took longer since it was the first of the two Italian GPs, he had given you warning that the team’s homerace would be more hectic. Pierre was the first to invite himself in, lounging on the other seat wanting to know the gossip around the paddock.
“Don’t lie, I know the best gossip comes from the kitchens,” he begged when you said there was nothing of interest.
“What can I say? Everyone is tight lipped after Nora and Damien caught covid.”
That had been the hottest gossip of the week because Nora was from Renault and Damien from Racing Point. Both teams were still arguing over who gave it to who and there were talks of suspension because they were sneaking into each other’s rooms instead of isolating.
“Ah bon,” he huffed. “Are you coming tonight?”
“I don’t know, I haven’t had a chance to ask Charles what the plan is,” you answered as you checked your phone again to see no messages and the afternoon was dragging. “What is taking him so long?”
“You’re waiting here for him?” Pierre frowned as he sat up a little straighter. “He was heading back to the hotel after he finished, he had to go pick up Charlotte from the airport.”
You tried to police your face but from the pity on Pierre’s it was clear you failed to hide the disappointment, shock and betrayal. Charles had been quieter in the last few days but everything you asked what was wrong he said nothing and then distracted you.
“Sorry, I thought you knew and that’s why you were still hiding out here.” He stood up and reached into the pocket of his Toro Rosso jacket to grab his car keys. “Wanna catch a ride with me?”
You didn’t really want to go back to the hotel room you had been sharing with Charles but had no idea where else you could go. You definitely needed to change out of the Ferrari uniform you wore but you didn’t want to see Charlotte if you could help it. Why was she even here?
“I don’t know, but from his mood I’m guessing Charles didn’t invite her.”
You didn’t realise you had asked that aloud and you concentrated on your shoes as you stood up and followed him out to the carpark. You almost asked him to turn around and take you back to the paddock but there would probably be more gossip spread if you slept in Charles’ driver’s room instead of the hotel.
“Thanks for the ride,” you said as you stepped out of Pierre’s car.
“No problem. Text me if you want a ride to the party.”
You weren’t exactly in the mood to party but the idea of liquor was growing on you so you said maybe and departed. Walking into the hotel, you passed the designer stores that lined the first two floors and felt the black credit card calling, but it was probably the devil whispering in your ear. And not for the first time you listened.
Charles checked his phone as he received another notification from his bank. One part of him was pleased to know you were at least near the hotel since the charges were to the shops below, but a larger part was sick knowing you were lashing out because of the message he had left in your room down the hall.
The shower turned off as his phone vibrated again and a bitter laugh bubbled at the $50k debit he saw for Prada before Charlotte appeared from the bathroom. There was a time before you showed up back in his life where he found her beautiful but now he could only imagine your face when he held her. He really had to do something about this because no matter how disinterested or rude he was, she ignored it to remain in his life. Looking away as she reached the bed, he returned his focus to his phone and sent a message to the person he actually wanted to be with.
The hotel room was silent when you finally built up the courage to leave the shops and take the elevator to the higher floors. The housekeepers had swept through and placed everything back where it belonged except for one square sheet of hotel-embossed paper.
Charlotte is here so I will be staying with her for the week. I’m sorry, I couldn’t bring myself to tell you in person. Love, Charles x
You sneered at the paper as your phone vibrated. “Love, my ass.”
Charles: Ma biche, if you are trying to bankrupt me you are going to have to do better than that.
You: I just want to look good for the party tonight. Never know who I might take back to my room.
You slammed the stack of receipts down beside the note and went to see that his bags were gone from the bedroom. Your lip curled back in disgust and you tore the protective sheath off the little black dress you had purchased with his money. If he was going to be a coward then he would suffer the consequences of it. You were sick of waiting for them to break up, maybe their delusions for a perfect image actually made them perfect for each other.
Charles slammed his phone onto the bedside drawer and pushed Charlotte’s advancing hands away. “I’m not in the mood.”
Rolling her eyes, she settled amongst the pillows and crossed her arms. “You’re never in the mood anymore.”
“Whatever, just get dressed,” Charles ordered as he kicked his suitcase over before unzipping it and grabbing a clean set of clothes. “We’re going out.”
“I just got here.”
“So? It’s a party.” He didn’t even glance her way as he pulled his Ferrari shirt over his head and replaced it with a plain white t-shirt before moving onto his jeans.
“Will Y/N be there?”
Charles’ foot caught in the legging and he nearly tipped over. “I don’t know,” he lied.
Charlotte knew him well enough to know when he was lying, or telling half truths - those were almost as common as breathing to him lately.
Since social gatherings were frowned upon, the group had met in a large field that the motorhomes parked in near the Monza track. A roughly cut metal oil drum glowed with a fire and golden embers floated off into the evening light as you navigated your way in new heels to the circle of couches around it.
“I think I overdressed,” you joked to Pierre as a dozen pairs of eyes flickered your way. There was no denying that you looked amazing, but you were more suited for the red carpet than a backyard bonfire. You should have gone with jeans and a shirt like Pierre wore when he picked you up.
“I think you look beautiful,” Max said with a smile as he shifted on his seat to make space for you. “You can sit here.”
You returned the smile and carefully stepped over the legs outstretched to warm by the fire. One pair of eyes burned into you but you pointedly ignored him as he sat opposite the flames with Charlotte on his lap. You stood in front of Max and put your hands on your hips as you cocked an eyebrow at the narrow space between him and the armrest.
“I have caught you checking out my ass enough times, Verstappen, you know it’s not going to fit there,” you said with a smirk.
An annoyed humph came from beyond the flames and Charles started to push Charlotte to her feet. “I’ll get you a seat.”
“She can sit here,” Max reiterated as he spread his legs back to get comfortable in his chair and patted his thigh.
“Mate…”
“Such a gentleman.” You turned on your heel, meeting the furious Monegasque whose eyes reflected the fire that was burning within him too. You held his steely gaze as you lowered yourself down onto Max’s lap, feeling the form fitting dress that barely covered your thighs ride even higher.
“I didn’t think so many of you guys would actually be here,” you said as you draped an arm over Max’s shoulder to help balance on your perch. His arm curled around your back so his hand rested lazily on your hip and his eyes darted to Charles, the blue hue almost screaming at him, ‘what a fool’.
“I only came for you,” Max admitted as he tore his eyes away to look at you. Those eyes narrowed and he brushed he cupped your face, brushing his thumb across your cheek. “You’re wearing makeup. Why?”
You frowned, wondering if maybe the makeup artist had done a terrible job and Max shook his head. “You look beautiful,” he assured you as he saw the worry-lines crease your forehead. “You always look beautiful, but you don’t need makeup, schat.”
You didn’t correct him on the endearment and he seemed to take it as a victory as his smile grew wider. Maybe you would have reminded him of the rules on friendship before the interruption, or maybe you would have just tucked the wayward strand of dirty blonde hair back where it had fallen over his face.
“I’m glad you made it,” Seb said, breaking the tension as he leaned over a cooler and offered a bottle of Jagermeister. “You look like you could use this.”
“Thanks,” you chuckled as you cracked the cap off. “You could have given me a little more information about this ‘party’.”
“Where is the fun in that?” Kimi muttered to himself as he sipped vodka from a teacup. The white china and blue glaze depicted an ancient scene and you stared at it as you took a swig straight from the bottle. Disgust screwed up your face at the taste before shivering, making both of the older men laugh.
“Ugh, I’ll take the rocket fuel please.” You didn’t give Kimi a chance to pull away as you stole the teacup and handed him the dark green bottle instead, though you were sure with those driver reflexes he could have moved if he wanted to. “That’s better,” you sighed as you tasted the drink to find it was a vodka lemonade mix. “I thought you would drink this stuff straight.”
“I’m not Russian,” he said as he jutted his chin across to Daniil who was in fact drinking pure vodka with Daniel, though the latter was coughing thanks to it. Reaching into the cooler, glass and ceramic clattered before he settled back into his foldout lawn chair with another china teacup that you didn’t bother to question.
Conversations between the drivers flowed, voices cresting and receding with the topics they were passionate about. Your stomach sloshed with alcohol and your body relaxed against Max’s, his smile growing when you rested your cheek on his head as you listened to him talk about the first thing he would do when the restrictions were lifted. It was to go to his friend’s concert, Martin Garrix to be specific.
“No fucking way,” Pierre laughed. “Not this again!”
You lifted your head and peered across the circle to where George and Alex were arguing over the suggested game of Truth or Dare.
“What are you? Prepubescent teenagers?” you teased as Alex took a pro-stance on playing.
“No, Lando only looks it,” George joked.
“Hey!” The young McLaren driver spluttered with an indignant laugh. “Rude.”
“Leave little Lando alone. He got his first pube just last week,” Daniel chimed in before adding, “I’ll play. Max?”
Max shrugged with a quiet, “Sure.”
Alex grinned wider and elbowed George. “See, it’s fun.”
The younger half of the drivers around the circle started the game, daring each other to do silly little things that their PR teams would frown at or confiding the secrets they answered for a truth. Your ribs hurt from laughing until Daniel called your name.
“Truth or dare?”
“Truth,” you replied just so you didn’t have to get up from your cosy spot on Max’s lap.
“Have you kissed a driver here?”
Charlotte’s eyes narrowed on you through the flames and you grinned at Daniel as you combed your fingers into the short hair at Max’s nape. “Yes.”
“Who?” Daniel looked at Max, Pierre and Charles before returning to Max.
Your head tipped back with a laugh. “That’s not how the game works, Danny. It’s not your turn anymore. It’s mine. Max?”
“Hmm, yes?” he hummed as he looked into your eyes.
“Truth or dare?”
He debated the option for a moment before exhaling. “Dare.”
“I dare you to take me out.”
“You didn’t need a game for that,” he chuckled. “When?”
“Breakfast, tomorrow.” You leaned in and brushed your lips over his cheeks that flushed pink an instant after you whispered in his ear. “We could even make it breakfast in bed.”
You hadn’t noticed Charles had left his seat until you heard his voice beside you, plonking himself down on the cooler while he sparked up a pointless conversation with Seb.
“Charles, truth or dare?” Max asked, noticing how still your body went and the stiffening of your spine.
Charles turned slowly, his eyes drifting over the space where your body met Max’s and a sneer tugged at his lips. “I don’t play childish games.”
“Just the adult kind, right?”
“I don’t know what you mean,” he said with that innocent smile that had fooled you.
“Of course you don’t.” Max turned his attention to the fire pit and the woman sitting on her own, attempting to hold an air of carefree relaxation despite her gaze always returning to you with a scowl. “Charlotte, truth or dare?”
“Max.” You jumped at the sharp bite to Charles’ reprimand but Max didn’t even glance his way as he waited for the woman to choose.
“Dare.”
“I dare you to finish Kyvat’s drink.”
Pierre’s teammate grinned as he offered the tumbler that was half full of vodka. To give her credit, she only winced with the first swallow but she downed the spirit and cocked an eyebrow that challenged Max, is that all you have for me?
A cruel smile tipped up and she licked the drop of alcohol that clung to her lips, the burn of the vodka quickly hitting her veins and travelling to her head. “My turn.”
Charles abandoned his conversation when Charlotte called your name and the slight shake of his head warned you not to answer.
But he had pissed you off.
“Truth.”
The choice echoed around the circle as everyone fell silent. Pressure brewed like a lightning storm approaching and everyone felt the charged atmosphere.
Charlotte closed her eyes and took a deep breath before opening them, staring you dead in the eye as she found the courage she had been missing for months. “How long have you been fucking my boyfriend?”
Max’s fingers stopped drawing abstract circles on your hip and Charles burst to his feet. “Charlotte!”
“What? It’s just a game, Cha,” she replied with a bland look of boredom.
“It’s not appropria-”
“3 years,” you cut him off, your eyes never leaving hers. If she wanted the truth then she could have it. “The 8th of August 2017, if you want to count the precise days.”
“What?” Confused murmurs broke around the fire.
“Oh, shit,” Pierre laughed as he looked closer at you then to his friend who had frozen still. “She’s that chick you hooked up with at Jimmyz?”
Charles dragged a hand down his face but ended it with a nod before turning to his girlfriend. “It was before us, mon amour.”
The way he said it made it appear it was only before they got together, ever the liar, and even you rolled your eyes.
“So you two…and your parents…” Kimi whistled before keeping his mouth busy with a drink. He was quietly enjoying the brimming heat too much for someone nicknamed the Iceman.
“My father was out getting a haircut-“
“-at my mother’s salon-“
“-when we met. I guess they kept in contact after we left.”
Charles turned his attention to Charlotte but she was already storming her way across the field. With a sigh, he made his way after her and you wondered if it was finally the day that you had been holding out for, the one where she would dump him.
“She should have asked when you last fucked him.” The words were a whisper in your ear as everyone else returned to their own conversations, the game clearly over, but you knew those conversations were about you. Max sensed your discomfort, though even a blind man would have been able to see it. “Want to get out of here?”
“You still want to go somewhere with me?” It seemed unbelievable that he hadn’t thrown you off his lap.
“Everyone has a history,” Max said with a shrug. “I don’t care about your past…just your future.”
You left without a goodbye under the watchful eye of Seb but you didn’t miss the elbow George gave Alex, muttering sarcastically, “Oh yeah, let’s play truth or dare, he said, it will be fun, he said.”
“I didn’t know that was going to happen.” The angry whisper of a reply followed your departure and it seemed Alex was the only one too innocent to see what had been in front of them all along.
Charles' car was already missing from the makeshift parking lot and you slipped into the passenger seat of Max’s Aston Martin before he closed the door for you.
“Where do you want to go?”
“I don’t know, can we just drive? I feel like a fucking idiot,” you laughed bitterly. All the memories made with Charles seemed to crumble like sandcastles with the tide as you remembered how he had chased after her. He always did, and it seemed he always would. Actions screamed louder than words. “He’s really not who I thought he was.”
“I’ve known Charles most of his life and I don’t think he even knows who he is,” Max said as he laced his fingers with yours and headed to the city. “Are you hungry?”
“No, but I have a full mini bar that is getting billed to Charles. Want to help me empty it?”
Max shared a conspiratorial grin as he headed to the hotel and when you walked past Charles’ room down the hall, it didn’t hurt as much as you thought it would.
“What are you doing?” Max asked with a laugh as you hung the ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on the front door. You closed the door and leant against it, Max’s eyes following the curve of the Chanel dress, down the length of your legs to the Prada shoes and back up to the Bvlgari diamond necklace that accentuated the valley of your breasts.
“Making sure this party doesn’t get crashed.”
It was a miracle there had been no complaint made as you turned the stereo up and pretended you knew how to mix drinks.
“Max!” You fell into a fit of laughter as he poured four of the miniature gin bottles into the cocktail shaker, adding it to the three bottles of vodka you had put in. “That is pure alcohol.”
He shook the container and poured the clear liquid into two glasses, spilling some as he reached the same level of drunkenness as you. “No, it’s just water. Here, taste it.” He tipped his glass back, his face pinching before he blew out a burst of burning air from his throat and spluttered a cough. “Mhmm, good water that.”
“You’re trying to get me drunk,” you shouted over the pounding in your head, but you knocked the drink back anyway.
“You’re already drunk,” he countered, dropping into the couch and pulling you down with him. Empty bottles littered the coffee table and the dining table, the expensive mini bar almost empty. “I’m just keeping you that way.”
You settled on his lap and fingered the dirty blonde hair that was longest at the top of his head. “Is that so you can have your way with me?”
His eyes danced over your body, lingering on your thighs as your dress barely covered them. “No, schat,” he said with a small shake of his head as he cupped your face. “When I have you I want you to know that you chose me, clear headed and completely sober. Even if I really just want to fucking kiss you right now.”
You drew your lip between your teeth at the thought and his blue eyes darkened with envy. “We could just kiss?” you suggested as you shifted to straddle his hips.
“I don’t think it would be that easy to just stop there.”
“Fine.” Your hands stroked the column of his neck, feeling the cords of muscle that tensed under your touch before you traced his collarbones with your thumbs. “Truth or dare?”
He inhaled sharply and tipped his head back, watching intently as you popped the first button on his shirt and opened the collar wider. He didn't appear to breathe as you kissed the hollow at the base of his throat. He exhaled, knowing what you wanted to hear, “Dare.”
Your teeth grazed his racing pulse and he shuddered beneath you before you pulled back. “I dare you to kiss me.”
Perhaps it took having the flame of Charles extinguished for you to feel the spark of Max because this time when he pulled you close and captured you with a kiss you felt that spark ignite.
You looked around the parking lot seeing all the other mothers dropping their children off for the first day of school. They all kissed their kids on the cheeks after a tight hug and said their goodbyes, complete with teary I love you’s. Confused, you frowned at the large hand that gripped your school bag and followed the arm up to your father.
“Daddy, why isn’t my mummy here?”
He had known the question was coming, he just didn’t think it would be from his five year old. He thought he had more time to prepare as he dropped to one knee and held your hands. “Your mother was sick and she needed to leave so she could get better.”
“But she never came back.”
“Sometimes, that’s what’s for the best.” He kissed your forehead and draped your backpack over your shoulders, the weight more than just the lunchbox and books it carried. “But you know what?”
“What?”
“I will always be here for you, pumpkin.”
You woke in a cold sweat and felt the haunting thought the dream had inspired linger in your brain as you slipped out of the sheets. Beside you, Max slept soundly with one hand buried under a pillow and the other stretched across the bed as if he was searching for you.
You didn’t regret sleeping with Max, though part of you felt he surely would, and you watched his back rise and fall a few times as you dressed. You were busy trying to write a note, tearing off each piece that failed to convey what you wanted to say and balling it up, that you didn’t hear Max’s footsteps. You jumped in surprise as his hands came to rest on your hips and his lips teased the same sweet spot beneath your ear that he had found last night.
“Going somewhere?” he asked as he saw your bags by the door and he saw the latest attempt of a note. Max, thank you for last night. How about a raincheck on our-
“I think it's time to go home,” you admitted as you turned in his arms and draped yours around his neck. “Because the next time we do this, I want you to know that I chose you, clear headed and completely sober.”
He chuckled, surprised you could remember what he said. Then his own hungover haze lifted and he realised what else you said. “Next time?”
“I still want you to take me to breakfast,” you assured him with a smile. “How about you call me when you’re back in Monaco?”
“It’s a date.” He tipped your head back and kissed you with the same passion that left your toes curling and your body warmed with the memory of how that kiss had led to much more last night. But Max was sober and more in control of himself as he reluctantly broke away first.  “Do you want me to take you to the airport?”
“No, thank you, I’m going to drive back. Take a bit of time to myself and figure my shit out.”
Max frowned. “You don’t have a car.”
“Yet,” you said with a wink. “But if the offer for a ride is still on the table…there is somewhere you can drop me off.”
Charles woke to a call from his bank and he swallowed deeply as he listened to the request to release $250k to a dealership. There was only one reason you would buy a car and the thought left him feeling empty as the bed he woke up alone in. It was a surprise there was no noise complaint after the argument he had with Charlotte, the one where he snapped and broke things off. She had left in a rage and he didn’t have the decency to ask where she went.
He had gone to your room, his feet carrying him light on a breeze as he finally had what he wanted. But then he had seen the Do Not Disturb sign on the door, and heard your laughter sneak through the panel of wood that separated him from where he should have been.
Sitting up in bed, he wiped away the tears that had dried on his cheeks overnight.
“Yes, allow the payment to proceed,” he muttered, though the sound of his voice was no longer one he recognised.
Charles: Drive safe, ma biche x You: I’m sorry I couldn’t tell you in person.  Charles: I guess I deserved that.

For The Last Time | One
“It had been months since you’d seen each other, five and three days to be exact (not that he was counting or anything), months since you had broken up with him. You said it was for the best, that your careers were more important but Noah didn’t think so.”
What I thought was going to be a lil angsty one shot has become a multiple part cry fest ahhh. Here’s part one <3
I'm posting this because it's in my drafts x
My ao3 is HERE
Also let me know if you want to be tagged in any upcoming posts :)
CW: post break up, angst, Noah has lots of feelings, “talking” about feelings, loads of swearing
(Dropping this because it was burning a hole in my drafts and I just wanted to get it out there)
18+ MDNI | Noah Sebastian x Reader
Tumblr media
“Thought I’d find you here.” Your voice reached Noah’s ears like a siren song and it was infuriating.
He turned slightly, watching you approach him in that dress, that fucking dress that hugged every single curve on your body so perfectly it made him feel crazy, feral. He had been trying his damned hardest to avoid you all night and of course you found him, cigarette between his tattooed fingers, on the balcony, moping.
“The party is wild in there.” You gestured to the balcony doors that were muffling the sound of chatter and loud music inside.
“Yeah, I just needed some quiet.” His voice was gruff when he spoke and it only made you roll your eyes.
It had been months since you’d seen each other, five and three days to be exact (not that he was counting or anything), months since you had broken up with him. You said it was for the best, that your careers were more important but Noah didn’t think so.
You see, Noah would have walked through fire, jumped in front of a bullet, he would have stolen the moon from the fucking sky if you asked him to but you didn’t feel the same and as much as it hurt to watch you walk away, he did because he loved you. Issue is, he just couldn’t get over you.
He had avoided you like the plague for months but it was getting progressively harder because you shared friends. Usually it was easy, he left when you showed up, he asked around to see if you were going to events so he could make excuses not to go. It was fine, he hated socialising at the best of times so it was no skin off his nose.
Then you showed up to the album release in that fucking dress and his heart just about dropped out of his ass. And the worst part? You had some six foot four Doberman energy gym rat on your arm. That’s when he found himself storming out to the balcony with a half drank bottle of Hennessy and a pack of cigarettes he had stolen off the kitchen island.
He didn’t dare look at you again, instead his eyes stayed trained on the twinkling lights of the city when you joined him at the railing, your warmth burning his skin like acid.
”How have you been?”
Well that was a loaded question. What was he meant to say? ‘Oh yeah, I’m fantastic, nice to see you, Y/N. Who’s the hunk?’ Nah. He would rather put his hand in a blender.
“Fine.” He wasn’t in the mood to talk to you. Instead he stubbed the cigarette out and took a long swig of the cognac, letting it burn down his throat in an attempt to quell the anger boiling in his blood.
He could feel you shift uncomfortably next to him and he had to stop himself from rolling his eyes. What did you have to feel uncomfortable about? You practically tore his heart out and curb stomped it. And to add a cherry on top of the shit icing, you decided his fucking album release party would be the best time to hard launch your new man.
Noah really, really wasn’t in the mood and he was practically begging the gods to make you just go inside and forget about it, enjoy your night and have fun but instead you reached out, took the bottle from his hands and took a huge swig.
Fuck.
“Shouldn’t you be with your date, Mick is it?” He finally grits through a clenched jaw.
You chuckle lightly. “It’s Mike, and he’s talking to Folio about fishing.”
Betrayer, of course he would be. Trust Folio to be rubbing shoulders with the enemy over fucking fishing poles.
Noah hums, running a hand through his recently cut short hair.
”It suits you, you know, short hair.” He turned to you fully with furrowed eyebrows. What was your game?
God you looked fucking beautiful, your hair was pulled back into a bun at the back of your neck, curled strands framing your face. Sharp wings of eyeliner made your eye colour stand out beautifully in the low light, along with those dark lashes and your lips were painted a shade of red that could only be described as unholy and fuck, he just wanted to feel them on his again.
”You think?” His voice was weak and he internally kicked himself for even looking at you because his knees felt weak and his stomach felt like it might explode.
You smiled that smile that he fell for all those years ago, reaching your hand out to brush a stray piece of hair from his eyes.
Yeah, he was well and truly fucked, done for, so fucking completely in love with you. He was never getting over you.
“Hey, we’re about to play the album.” Nicholas’ voice from the balcony door made you jump back away from Noah.
”See you inside, yeah?” He nodded at your words, watching you walk back inside to Mike, planting a soft kiss on the guy's cheek and Noah wanted to vomit.
Nicholas was staring at him with a smirk.
”Shut the fuck up.” Noah pointed at his best friend, grabbing the bottle of Hennessy before pushing his way inside.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Noah had been shifting uncomfortable in his seat, your narrowed eyes burning into him for almost an hour. You were clinging on to every fucking lyric he wrote and he knew he was in for it the moment you could get him alone again.
So as soon as the album had played through and chatter started up again, he was up on his feet, moving across the room before you could get to him.
”Hey, Noah isn’t it?” Oh for fuck’s sake. Mike held a hand out to him,
Noah hesitantly shook it with a smile that he was faking hard, gritting his teeth. “Yeah, nice to meet you…Mike?”
The taller man grinned. “Yeah, I’m Y/N’s boyfriend but I’m guessing you already know.”
Yeah, he fucking does know.
“It’s so sick that she knows you guys, I’ve listened to your last two albums and they go hard, man.”
Noah nodded, smiling, looking behind the guy to see you storming towards them with clenched fists.
“Look, Mike, I’m sorry to cut this short bu-“
“Hi babe, what are we talking about?” Fuck, you were now standing next to Mike, staring up at Noah with a false grin that screamed ‘I’m going to fucking kill you’.
”Oh, I was just telling Noah how much I fuck with the music babe.” Mike was completely unaware of the frustration bubbling in your bones, wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
”That’s lovely.” You cooed, planting a kiss on his cheek. “Could you give Noah and I a second to talk, Folio is looking for you I think.”
Shit, shit, shit. There was no way he was getting out of it now. Mike leaned down to pull you into a kiss before strutting towards Folio and Noah just about wanted the ground to swallow him up right there and then.
”Downstairs, now.”
He had no choice but to follow you down the stairs like a lost dog, shuffling his feet as you stomped down the steps. As soon as you reached the outside, you turned to him with flailing arms.
”What the fuck is all that, Noah? You think that’s okay, airing our dirty laundry out like that?” You were seething, face turning beet red.
”It’s music, Y/N, not everything is about you.”
“Oh so ‘someone else’, ‘the death of peace of mind’ and what was the other one? ‘Bad decisions’? They’re not about me? Right…so the pretty much direct fucking quotes from our break up aren’t there? Sure.” You huffed, crossing your arms over your chest.
”First of all, it’s ‘somebody else’. Second of all, why does it matter? You’ve clearly moved on. I mean fuck me right?” He laughed incredulously, running a hand through his hair. “You said that you didn’t want to be with me anymore because your career was taking up all of your time and energy and then you show up here with a new guy, smushing face with him in front of me and my brothers like nothing happened. We were together for six fucking years, Y/N!”
He took a deep breath, chest heaving. You stared up at him with glassy eyes full of fire but he was past caring by that point.
”So forgive me, darling, for pouring my heart into my music. Our break up is still a fresh wound. I genuinely thought that we were gonna be end game and yeah, I’m not fucking over it. Did you even listen to ‘Just Pretend’, huh?”
A tear fell from your lashes onto your cheekbone, your face softening and Noah couldn’t watch. He hated the bullshit, the anger, the sadness. He just wanted to wrap you up in his arms and go back to when everything was okay, back when you were still his. Fuck, it was too much.
”Look, I’m sorry for shouting. I just find it really hypocritical of you to be going off at me like that when you completely blindsided me tonight.”
You nodded your head quickly, wiping the tears away with the back of your hand. He was right, you had no place to be upset when you had hurt him, really fucking hurt him.
Noah could hear Jolly calling his name from inside and he sighed. “Maybe we can talk about all of this over coffee sometime next week. It’s a conversation we really need to have, cut the loose ends so both of us can move on, yeah?”
“Yeah.” Your voice was quiet as a mouse, eyes trained on your shoes.
He wanted to reach out, pull you into his chest and comfort you but it wasn’t the right time, he didn’t think it would ever be. You had someone else to hold you and he was upstairs waiting.
“Text me, my number is still the same.”
With a sad smile, he turned, making his way back inside.

hello tumblr, i plague you with fem sniperspy <3
Tumblr media Tumblr media
spy uses the balaclava like she normally does in canon, but she wears the scarf and sunglasses with people she's a liiittle more comfortable with (and by people i mean sniper and sniper only LMAO). her sunglasses use a one-sided lens! so to every1 else, her glasses are pitch black but for the sake of the drawing, u can still see her eyes hehehe
Tumblr media Tumblr media
HONESTLY not sure which ver of bloody suit i like best? cuz i'm down for both same team or cross faction sniperspy since either dynamic works rlly well (also i noticed how blu sniper is almost never included in the ship and i rlly wonder why :0 only thing i'm assuming is that sniper js looks better in red HAHA jk but i'm p sure it's cuz red is js the default)
Tumblr media
[HEADCANONSSS & close ups below cut!]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
red sniper is better at socialising than mundy (isn't afraid to say what's on her mind) but is still very much a recluse who has a poorer relationship w/ her parents. she's similar to the sniper from that fanmade 'meet the fem sniper' sfm! i imagine she had to go thru more shit from others than canon sniper to become a mercenary, so she takes her job even more seriously than mundy does. definitely uses her skills to be a dickhead towards others, esp blu spy lmao.
blu sniper is like regular sniper: socially awkward, still a professional (tho not as intense as red), and very empathetic towards animals (red is too but not to the degree of blu). relationship w/ parents is same as well, definitely not as broken as red's, but struggled js as much as red when it came to being taken seriously in her work (y'know how life be towards women 🥲). reason why she isn't as extreme as red is cuz she's more 'go with the flow' with things, more relaxed and isn't super intent on proving others wrong since she sees no point in caring that much abt being underestimated.
red spy has the same personality as comic spy. her team has a harder time liking or trusting her as she is very standoffish and uses every opportunity to (not so) subtly shove her ego in people's faces. the distrust is reciprocated though, and she doesn't care about how pretentious she comes off as the irritation she has towards her colleagues is mutual. however, when she does have her rare moments of kindess, it's a genuinely comforting experience
blu spy is essentially on the same level of asshole but rather than directing it to her colleagues, she only does it towards her enemies (unless her teammates are being excrutiatingly stupid). her team likes her more as she is slightly friendlier, and by that i mean she's a bit more talkative compared to her red counterpart who prefers to speak in quips instead of conversation, but she struggles to trust them (ironic seeing as she's trusts the enemy sniper enough not to wear her balaclava 💀).

“I thought you weren't one for socialising.” Winston commented, observing John’s eyes before they met his gaze again.
“I am not.” John stated simply.
Winston hummed dismissively and sipped his drink, keeping his gaze locked with John’s.
“You seem intrigued.”
John looked away and frowned. “It’s not every day that I get to meet someone who has not even heard of the Boogeyman.”
“Fascinated?”
John looked up “Amused.That’s it.”
With that, he chugged away the bourbon on the glass and bid Winston a goodnight before leaving.
—---
As the bus moved past streets and signs, the world around her remained blurred. She sat on the window seat, gazing at her mother’s ring. The tears she fought finally won– a thick drop lined her cheek, followed by another, but she bit her trembling lips and held tight, wiping away her tears quickly.
Calm down, calm down, calmdown calmdown calmdowncalmdown…
She would not break down like that. She would not allow anyone to witness her break. She was in the  midst of keeping herself together when a handkerchief came into view. She looked up, only to see a man she has never seen offering her the piece of cloth.
“Please,” He offered politely.
She blinked but mindlessly accepted it “Thank you.”
That was all she could come up with while wiping her tears. He sat on the seat in the front turned to face her with a smile “You’re welcome. Rough day?”
She mustered up a faint smile and nod, reflecting on the events a few hours ago.
“I haven’t seen you around here before? Are you new here?”
His question made her look up to him in surprise.
He noticed it and added– “I take this bus regularly, the next stop is mine– I know the regulars. So, just curious.”
“Yes, I just…moved to New York.”
“Tough day at work?”
"Would have been better to have a tough day at work. personal stuff."
He offered an understanding silence for a few moments until the bus came to a halt. “Well, here’s my stop. Guess we will run into each other often. I’m Alex by the way.” He rose and offered his hand.
“It was nice to meet you Alex, I’m (Y/N).” She shook his hand with a faint smile before he waved and got off the bus.
What an unexpected, kind surprise.
—-----
Moving into New York was a completely new experience– but she was settling in. A month after her visit to the mysterious Continental, she had not been contacted by Winston— not directly, at least. A parcel was sent to the apartment she had rented. A parcel containing a card under his name and a note saying ‘In case you need it.'
Winston was a strange man. Even though she wanted to ask him how he got her address, she had no other way but to either visit the Continental again, or ring up the number provided in the card. She could not bring herself to do that.
Every other evening, she would take the same bus home from her workplace and run into Alex. Alex Norton was a Pharmacologist who happened to be exceptionally bad at driving cars or balancing motorcycles. So, public transport was all he was left with. Not that he minded, as he told her– he liked to observe, and liked the steady cycle of public transportation–
“It's one of the few stable things I have in life.”
He told her once, standing over her seat after he had kindly given up his for an elderly man. She did not poke further in favour of keeping the conversation on a lighter tone (he had an amazing sense of humour), but she was almost certain that he meant something deeper.
Almost.
In the last month, she had realised that there was nothing too ‘obvious’, or ‘too certain’-- there were always gaps and cracks, what ifs and buts. It was not that she did not think of her mother. She did, every night before falling asleep, questions would plague her mind and every morning, she would be filled with a sense of hopelessness and dread thinking of all the possibilities– one worse than the other, and all the ‘what ifs’-- what if her mother never left? What if her mother told her where to find her? What if she got the letter on time, what if—what if.
She was in one of those ‘what if’ phases in her mind, walking with her  eyes downcast, but unfocused as she navigated her office street with muscle memory when her vision shook—
No, she shook, after she had stumbled– perhaps walked right into a man and bumped into him hard enough to leave her nose with a dull ache.
She hissed, rubbing her nose. “I am sorry.” She stepped back, apologising.
“No, it was my fault.”
She looked up. It was the same man who was there with Winston the other night. His eyes remained on her, as if waiting.
“Oh, hello again Mr…”
“Wick—John Wick. Are you alright?” There was a faint frown that settled between his eyebrows.
“Yes, yes, I am. Just a little distracted.” She smiled awkwardly, the man only nodded.
“You’ll settle in.”
“I hope so.” There was no conviction in her tone. If he noticed, he did not comment, just stood there, looking at her. “Okay so, I need to get to work. Good to see you.”
He simply nodded again.
With a tight-lipped smile, she walked past him, turning into another head among the thousands on the street.
John smoothened his shirt, feeling the bulletproof vest underneath– eyes still on her moving form before he finally looked ahead and walked on. He was working after all.
—---
John Wick was not the one to linger around past business. His work was done, he should be heading home. But he found himself staying. Staring at an unassuming office building, he turned around to buy a pack of doughnuts– just in time (Y/N) walked out of it. He turned slightly, watching from the other side of the road as she navigated the streets. His stoic gaze remained on her.
John was conflicted.
He had nothing to do with that woman. She belonged to the other side– the clean, untainted side he could never even dare taste, for he knew that a cursed demon like him would taint it, wither the garden, bring dark, stormy clouds over the perfectly sunny world. The world which she came from was his childhood fairytale and now a distant, wistful fantasy— perhaps some other dimension, universe? He did not know, he was doomed after all. The world he came from…was a nightmare to her– to people like her.
So, what was he doing there?
John had no reasonable answer to that. He had seen her walking on the street with her eyes downcast, and stopped, allowing her to bump into him. Even through the bulletproof vest he could sense her warmth– a tenderness that made chills run down his spine. Something he had never experienced before. It felt forbidden, but so… so good. It took him some effort to not reach out to the warmth, instead, his fingers folded into a tight fist in his pocket.
She was the forbidden fruit that walked into the place where angels feared to tread— but so oblivious, so sweet so…
John shook his head and stopped. With one last glance at her form at a distance, he turned around and walked away, dropping the pack of doughnuts on the lap of an old, homeless man on the footpath.
-----
“Isn’t this my favourite commuter?”
She turned around to face Alex with a smile. It was crowded and neither of them had a seat. But standing with Alex was much better than being cramped up with strangers.
“Hi.” She smiled “You look tired?” She commented, assessing him. His usual pristine coat seemed crinkled and dirtied and despite the cool weather, he had beads of sweat. “You okay?”
“Yes, yes I am, just a project going haywire, don’t worry. How was your day?”
“As usual. You were right, once you get a hang of it, I guess things do become bearable.”
Alex smiled “So, tomorrow’s weekend. Wanna grab a beer?”
Now, that was a tempting offer. She glanced at her watch– she had plenty of time.
“Okay, let's go. Your stop or mine?”
“Neither, the next to next stop is a street filled with good pubs. You’ll love it.”
—-
Alex was not wrong. The pub he took her to had just begun to fill in– so they managed to get their desired spot to sit, the ambience, and the environment was lively.
“It's a lovely place, thank you for bringing me here.”
Alex raised his glass and smiled “You're welcome.”
Getting along with Alex was easy. It was smooth-sailing to have a conversation with him, to jump from one topic to another.
“I do not think that it's necessary that the street should be under constant surveillance. You see, it's the people we need to mend.”
“Until then, constant surveillance might help. My colleagues, I mean most of them are so nonchalant about the reports of crime and all.” (Y/N) added.
They had somehow landed on the topic of crime and surveillance in the city and she was surprised by the degree of nonchalance in the locals.
“You’re new here.” Alex commented, sipping his beer as his eyes casually moved around the place.
She shrugged, focusing on her drink “There are a few things I might never get used to.”
“True.” His eyes found hers again and he smiled.
It was then she noticed– truly noticed how attractive he was. Tall, dark, well-built with a gentle smile. Alex Norton was a treat for sore eyes. But what truly made him attractive was his approach to people, the way he spoke, the way he listened more.
She took a swig of her beer, an attempt to divert her eyes.
****
So, what do you guys think? I have decided to turn it into a short series.

Simon 'Ghost' Riley x fem!reader render by: @661ave
part THREE
[ Previous 〡 Next ]
You start to think that you’re going mad, losing your mind bit by bit. You are constantly looking over your shoulder because you feel like someone’s gaze is glued to your back. Your eyes wander all the time, seeking to spot anyone who looks suspicious, who might stare at you for too long or linger nearby a lot, not letting you out of their sight.
The messages haven’t stopped and anytime you talk with someone for longer than five minutes, you receive another one. As a result, you begin to avoid everyone. You leave the conversation before it even starts. When someone approaches you, you excuse yourself, and if you can’t find a reason to disappear, you nervously grip your phone in your hand, waiting for it to buzz and alert you to yet another harassing text, telling you what you should and shouldn’t do.
However, after a full week of being alone, avoiding everyone and everything, your phone becomes silent. The anonymous texter ceases to send threats, luring you into a false sense of security.
Perhaps it’s all over. Maybe the stranger grew bored because they didn’t expect you to follow their rules, and since you do, they realised it’s no longer amusing to screw with you.
When another week goes by without the video being leaked, you convince yourself that it’s all really over. You even deleted the cursed conversation hoping it would also erase the entire incident from your mind and make you forget about it all.
Everything was getting back to normal. So when Vanessa, one of your friends, invited you to a small get-together before everyone leaves the base for the holidays, you gladly accepted the invite, eager to socialise with some people instead of spending yet another evening on your couch with a bowl of popcorn with eyes glued to the screen.
The small gathering turned out to be more of a small party. You all met up in the abandoned wing, where all the empty offices that nobody used anymore were, and where, across the hallway, in the other room, you and Ghost fucked. Though you tried not to think about it, refusing to let that video, and the memory of that night, consume your thoughts and stress you out when you came here tonight to unwind and have fun.
At first, you felt a little uncomfortable because you knew only a few people.
Vanessa kept bringing you drinks, which you never turned down, even if they were a touch too strong for your taste since you preferred sweet, colourful cocktails over some cheap booze. But you weren’t the one paying for the alcohol, so you didn’t complain.
Charles was also present, but you did everything possible to evade him, treating him as if he were a plague. Ever since your last conversation with him, you felt awful for running off and leaving him, and although he said nothing about it then, the following day, or even now, you’ve decided it’s best to stay out of his way.
When your phone buzzed, paranoia washed over you for a brief moment. Your heart dropped. And you had to take a deep breath before unlocking it, but when you saw that it was just a battery warning, you exhaled, scolding yourself for scaring yourself over some silly notification.
“Here’s another one.” Vanessa blocked your path as you attempted to shuffle to the corner of the room without being seen. “I noticed your cup is empty. Again.”
The corner of your lips lazily tugged upwards, and you offered her a smile, which continued to linger on your face.
You didn’t think it was a great idea to drink more because you were already dizzy. Your vision was blurry and your surroundings swayed. However, you savoured the carefree feeling that wrapped around your body, not wanting it to fade away, as you accepted the drink from her.
“Thanks.” You nodded and took a sip. Well, more like a big gulp. The drink was sweet, you could taste the pineapple juice, but it was also very strong, and whatever alcohol was mixed in, it burned the back of your throat, causing you to cough a little.
“Easy there.” Vanessa laughed, curling her fingers around your shoulder. Her hand then softly rubbed your back, dropping when you stopped coughing. “There’s no need to rush.”
“True.” You nodded, taking another sip. “But this one… is my last drink tonight.” You raised the cup a little. “I’m cutting myself off. I don't want my tomorrow's hangover to become even more unbearable than it already promises to be.”
You continued to chat with Vanessa. A few more people joined it, and you didn’t even realise how quickly the time started passing.
When your cup emptied again, you excused yourself and left the crowd behind to head to the bathroom.
You wandered down the empty hallway. The absence of noise was a balm for your pounding head, providing a much-needed moment of tranquillity.
As you rounded the corner, the sound of heavy footsteps reached your ears. You came to a halt far too quickly and had to steady yourself by placing your hand against the cold wall. After you looked over your shoulder, you noticed a figure approaching you.
Ghost.
He was walking fast. You instinctively stepped to the side, pressing your back to a closed door. You expected him to acknowledge you, to stop, and perhaps say something. But he strolled by you without sparing you a glance; his eyes didn’t settle on you once.
For some reason, you felt a little disappointed. You had no reason to be expecting anything. Just because you slept together quite a while ago, it didn’t mean he was required to talk to you. Even if you secretly wanted him to.
You couldn’t get Ghost, and him ignoring you, out of your mind. No matter how hard you tried to shift your thoughts, clear your head and think of something else, it didn’t work. So when you were making your way back, after deciding that another hour at the party wouldn’t hurt, you weren’t paying attention and bumped into someone.
“Shit. Sorry. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.” The words spilled out of you and you dropped to your knees when you realised the person had dropped a folder on the floor.
“It’s okay. I wasn’t paying attention either.”
You picked up a few pieces of paper and raised your head. Your eyes widened a little, and a heat rushed to your cheeks when you realised you had walked straight into Price.
You knew who he was, and that Ghost was in his squad, but you were very certain that Captain did not know who he was talking with. But that didn’t matter, and it didn’t change the fact that you had a silly crush on him. Almost every female soldier at the base did: he was a handsome, slightly older man with a British accent, who didn’t go out of his way to chastise soldiers in a harsh manner just because he could, and because no one would ever dare to say anything to him.
“Thank you, love.” He said when you handed him the folder. The colour of your cheeks deepened, becoming a brighter shade of red, and you had to sink your teeth into your bottom lip to keep yourself from grinning like an idiot.
You were drunk, blushing and desperately wanting to drag out the conversation, to make it last longer, and maybe hear him call you love again because the way the nickname rolled off his tongue made you melt and feel giddy.
Thankfully, Price didn’t appear to be in a hurry, either. You fiddled with your fingers anxiously, your tongue sliding across your bottom lip as you attempted to think of something to say. But it was difficult to put words into sentences and then actually utter them out loud, so silence crept in and you remained mute.
He observed your bright red cheeks as his eyes wandered over your face. His lips formed a smile. You were very sure he could smell the booze on your breath, so you were surprised when he didn’t say anything about it.
You exhaled disappointedly when he told you he had to go. You were still at a loss for words. And you kept your mouth shut to avoid embarrassment by saying something dumb.
“Have a nice evening, love. And watch where you’re going; you don’t want to run into anything else and end up hurt.”
He laughed, and you chuckled, nodding your head and stepping to the side, allowing him to pass and walk away.
You watched as he vanished out of your sight.
As you began to drag your feet down the hallway, silently humming to yourself and replaying your interaction with Price, wishing that alcohol would have turned you bolder and more confident instead of making you lose your ability to speak, your phone buzzed.
You groaned, thinking that it was another notification, alerting you about your low battery; you didn’t have a charger to remedy the annoying problem, so it probably would have been quite wise to turn off the sound.
However, when you unlocked your phone, you lost your balance and almost fell. Instantly, a wave of nausea surged through your stomach, causing it to churn uncomfortably. The familiar sensation of anxiety crept up, manifesting as a tightness in your chest that made it hard to breathe. Paranoia gripped your mind, while an overwhelming sense of being watched loomed over you. It felt as if invisible eyes were boring into your back. You felt paralyzed, your body was immobile, but your hands still trembled as your eyes scanned the words on your screen.

Wonyoung x Reader: Tonight
Tumblr media
A/N: Thanks to @opertabry for test reading this for me(ly bestie), I couldn't change much😵‍💫 but hope it turned out good
Permanent Taglist: @cwpiqwon@justme-idle
Part 2~Part 3a~Part 3b
After a quick glance behind your back, you ran through the bushes, a thermal bag in hand as you climbed the tree that had granted you access way back when.
"Who's there?" Wonyoung's shaky voice travelled from the room, little quavers in her voice conveying just how long she had been crying.
"It's me Wony." You whispered, as Wonyoung's eyes opened in shock, quickly running to open the window, allowing you access to the IVE dorm.
"Why are you here?" Wonyoung asked, not bearing to look you in the eye.
"I heard about what happened." You slid the mint chocolate ice cream tumbler to her, and a smile that was long vacant from Wonyoung's face appeared again, her troubles disappearing, albeit momentarily, as she scarfed down the frozen delight
Despite the situation the two of you were in, you couldn't help but smile at the sight, Wonyoung ravaging the pint of ice cream as if it was going to disappear, the unparalleled smile that formed on her face as she did. It was not an unfamiliar sight by any means, but it was still one that you hadn't seen in a long time, and missed. Watching as she gulped down the last scoops of the ice cream, the frown that had plagued Wonyoung returned.
"Are you okay Wony?" You whispered, lightly resting your hand on her shoulder as you attempted to smile reassuringly at the girl.
"I'd be better if you were here with me." A bittersweet smile rested on Wonyoung's face as she looked into your eyes, reminiscing about the warmth she would feel in your gaze.
"You know we can't do that." You clenched your fist, turning away from Wonyoung, her eyes were magnetic, and you feared what you would do if you got caught in her gaze. The same way you were caught all those years ago.
"It's not fair. Why can't I be in love, just like any other person." Wonyoung muttered out, tears threatening to spill from her eyes, though she tried her best to keep them in. Looking away, she recoiled in shock, then leaned into your gentle touch, your thumb wiping the rogue tears on her face
"I'm sorry Wony, but your career takes precedence over anything. Over us." You cursed yourself as you said those words. This was what was the best for her, isn't it?
"Isn't that for me to decide?" Wonyoung choked back tears, her mind flickering to the day you left her, the result of the agency finding out about your relationship with Wonyoung.
Tumblr media
Wonyoung had grown bitter. Though she appreciated the life of luxury and fame afforded to her by her career as a Kpop idol, grateful for her experiences in Iz*One and now IVE, she found it hard not to look back and wonder if it was all worth it. Childhood years, where most would spend messing around with friends, socialising and having fun, Wonyoung was working herself to the bone, dancing, singing, her life subject to the whims of her trainers. Even after she debuted, the problems didn't stop, the media caring more about narratives than the people the narratives concerned. For all they cared, they would build up a celebrity, just to tear them down, if that guaranteed them a more enticing article. That was the cause of this incident too, the media trying to tear Wonyoung down for exaggerated acting in a commercial, as if that wasn't how most commercials are. She scoffed at the hypocrisy, but she couldn't help but feel small, feel affected by all the backlash, all the hate from people she just wished would go on about their day, instead of dedicating parts of their days to slandering an 18 year old.
Through it all though, Wonyoung endured it, gritted her teeth, bunkered down, and soldiered on. This was life, and she had to work hard for what she wanted. Trolls and Hard Work were not too much to ask for a life of luxury and fame. Wonyoung could accept that. But losing you was too much. Because through it all, you were there. You were there to massage her shoulders after a tough practice. You were there as the last part of a normal life she could hold on to. You were there to wipe her tears and block out the hate when the pundits decided to go on a rampage. You were there to remind her that no matter what anyone said, she meant something to someone, that she meant everything to you. You were there to remind her that she was loved, that she was worthy of all that she had worked for. So Wonyoung's light left together with you. A little part of Wonyoung hated you, hated how you could just leave her, even if it was for her sake.
You didn't want to see Wonyoung. Not because you didn't love Wonyoung anymore, but because you still did, loved her too much even. The only reason you left her was to protect her from the company, but you still cared for her, greatly. That's why it hurt to watch IVE on variety or talkshows, Wonyoung smiled, but the shimmer and sparkle in her eyes were gone. Her smile looked natural, but you could see right through it. Wonyoung was operating in a fog, heading forward for the sake of it. What hurt worse were your conversations with Yujin. As a long time friend of Wonyoung, Yujin had also gotten somewhat close to you, close enough to help keep you in the loop on Wonyoung's condition. Hearing about Wonyoung hiding in her room, barely eating, having to be fed by Gaeul, it all hurt you. Because you knew that you were the cause of it. You wondered if it would have all gone better if she never met you, if you had never chosen to sign up for that Dance Competition. Wonyoung's heart would still be intact.
Tumblr media
"I'm sorry Wony, but I can't let you throw away all your hard work just for me." You whispered, gently holding her hand
"Remember to take care of yourself alright? If you need anything, ask Yujin or Gaeul. Please take care of yourself, stay healthy, alright?" You tried to put up a strong facade, but seeing her again hurt more than you thought it would. Having to go was like losing her all again. But you endured it. You couldn't be the anchor around her neck. Leaving a kiss on her forehead, you turned to the window
"Please. Don't go." Wonyoung's voice stopped you in your tracks. Her eyes were swollen, her stutter getting worse as her throat felt swollen, the heartbreak in her voice, it broke you.
"Don't do this to me Wony, please. You know we can't do this. I can't let you do this." You whispered back, trying to hide the tears that hampered your speech, not daring to turn around, because you knew you weren't going to be able to leave if you saw her looking at you, if you saw her in the state you left her in.
"Please, Y/N. Just for Tonight. Please." Wonyoung whispered, afraid of being too loud and scaring you away, a whisper that carried the weight of her world.
You clenched your fist, fighting against your very instinct.
You turned to her, whispering something that you knew very well to be a lie.
"Just for tonight."

a/n: we get a bit of backstory about our dear little reader. let's see how she handles parents weekend, shall we?
Word Count: 2.3k Warnings: light swearing Pairing: Wednesday Addams x Reader Taglist: @extinctspino @basichextechml @cfvgbhndun-new-blog @jinxscatbomb @awolfcsworld @n0p35 @suzhiman @gengen64 (Masterlist)
Tumblr media
Parents Weekend. Most of the students at Nevermore loved it; it gave them an opportunity to show their family how they were doing, who their friends were, what they were doing with their young lives. And truthfully, it was a joyous weekend. There was more laughter and joy than any other point of the year, even the Rave’N.
Even in the past, you had enjoyed Parents Weekend. The few days Momma and Pop could come up and visit and talk and give you the family you never truly had. Filling that void and giving you the space and opportunity to just be a child. You and Nicky had never been more grateful for something you hadn’t realised was so important.
You understood why they hadn’t been able to come the past few years, truly you did. The others had plays, concerts, events, exams. They were all a little more important than a weekend away, especially when it was a full day’s train ride. They had offered to come, but you told them to stay; being one of the oldest definitely had it’s downsides.
But you enjoyed seeing everyone else’s families rolling in, all the excited chattering and hugs. Even Enid’s family had arrived. You gave them a quick wave and polite smile before running off to hide. If Mrs. Sinclair made one more comment about no one coming to visit you, you were going to scream. The concern was sweet, but there was no point in dredging that fact back up.
“Will you be heading out soon?”
Even though your heart rate accelerated at the sudden appearance of a voice, you shouldn’t have been surprised. Principle Weems knew of your plans for the day and had already given explicit permission to be out all weekend. So why you flinched at her voice, you had no idea.
Must have been nerves.
“A lot sooner now that Mrs. Sinclair saw me,” you said, sending a smile to Mr. Sinclair when they all turned to look at you. “I’m trying to avoid the attention this year.”
“I know you were planning on staying away for the weekend,” Principle Weems started, “but maybe tomorrow you and I could socialise with the other families.”
The tone in her voice, now that was a reason to be surprised. An uncertainty accentuated by the slightest shake behind her words. Without drawing any attention to you both, you looked at her out of the corner of your eye to see that yes, that forced smile of hers was real.
It would mean cutting your trip in half. These trips only happened every other Sunday and this was your one shot at a full weekend. Would it be worth it? Is it what he would want you to do? Probably, you thought with a silent sigh. As much as it felt like throwing your heart into a juicer, you knew what the best thing to do would be.
“I would love to,” you said far too softly. Hopefully Principle Weems had heard you because you weren’t sure you could say it again around the tightness in your throat.
But Principle Weems smiled. “Then we will see you tomorrow.”
She left you standing there with nothing but a dry mouth and an uneasiness in your stomach. It continued to plague you on the flight to Hanover, and reached a crescendo as you greeted Nurse Jackie at the desk and walked into the room. Only when you sat down in your chair by the bed did you feel that anxiety and fear metamorphosise into a comfort you couldn’t put into words.
“Hey bubba” you said as you started digging in your bag for the book. “You look like shit, when was the last time you shaved?”
The high pitched, headache inducing beeping of the heart monitor answered.
“We’ll clean you up before I leave,” you huffed, “I’m not kissing your scruffy cheek.”
The ventilator hissed.
“I told you about that girl I like, right?” You asked. The chair creaked underneath you as you pulled your legs up and crossed them. “The goth girl that looks like she wants to murder everyone, except it’s kinda hot?”
One spike of the heart monitor.
“I was thinking of asking her out again.”
An increase in the beeping of the heart monitor.
“No, it’s not a date." You rolled your eyes. "She doesn’t use that word.”
Another rapid increase.
“I know that’s what it is, she just doesn’t like the word.”
The heart monitor returned back to normal.
“Anyway, I need your thoughts. Would it be stupid to ask her to the Rave’N? It’s not either of our style but it’s still tradition so I just… need some brotherly advice.”
Three breaths from the ventilator before the heart monitor spiked twice.
“You were supposed to say yes,” you said with a huff. “Fine, I’ll ask. But if she turns me down, I’m blaming you.” You pointed your finger at the bed. With a smirk to yourself, you flipped the pages of the book open. “Okay, let’s see, we stopped after Gandalf and the Balrog, right?”
The heart monitor spiked once.
Your smirk turned into a smile before you started reading. Line after line, page after page. At the end of each chapter, you would look up to check on your captive audience, listening for any indication of his thoughts from the heart monitor. With each new chapter your stomach dropped all over again, some sad desperation for a response that was never going to come.
A groan escaped your lips as you shifted in the chair, stretching your legs out until they rested on the bed and you could lean back a little further. You made the mistake of looking up in the middle of the chapter. Your throat constricted, the words becoming harder to force out.
“Sorry,” you said as you cleared your throat. You picked up where you had left off.
Nicky laid there and listened as you read through the rest of the book, the uneasiness in your voice disappearing as quickly as it had appeared.
—---
There was nothing in heaven or hell that was quite like love. It came in all shapes and sizes, from romantic to familial to platonic. That unbearable queasiness that settles in your stomach like a body settles at the bottom of a lake and gives a certain sort of intrigue and comfort. To know that someone would kill for you, to die for you. That was what made love so exciting.
Morticia could see it in everyone present at the Parents Weekend events. Although the day was rather dreadful - far too bright and sunny - everyone was filled with love for whoever they were with. She could see it in Enid Sinclair’s family, whom she had introduced herself to. It was present in Wednesday, although a much different expression (she knew Wednesday still loved them).
And she saw it in Larissa and the young woman accompanying her.
She had noticed Larissa immediately, as she so often did, but the young woman caught her eye. The way she would look up at Larissa as if she hung the moon in the night sky. Morticia knew Larissa had no children, and yet she looked at the young lady the same way Morticia looked at her own children.
“I’ll be right back,” Morticia told Gomez before making her way to where Larissa was standing.
“Morticia,” Larissa called out once she was near. She sounded far more joyful than usual. “Always a pleasure.”
“I see you’re enjoying the festivities for the day,” Morticia said even though her gaze fell to the young woman who was actually quite tall, now that she was up close.
“We are,” Larissa said, her smile softening as she looked at her companion. “Allow me to introduce you both, this is Morticia Addams.”
“Oh, you’re Wednesday’s mom,” the young lady exclaimed with a grin and enthusiastically reaching her hand out, “I’m Y/N.”
Ah. So that’s who you were. Morticia knew exactly who you were. Numerous times she had heard Wednesday or Enid talk about you, even just in passing, with an admiration that she rarely saw from her own daughter. Her features would soften and she would threaten you bodily harm far less often than usual.
It had been so unusual at first to hear Wednesday talk about anyone, let alone someone that brought out a completely different side of her. They were only occasional mentions of you, but they were enough for Morticia to catch on to it. One mention of your name and Wednesday’s eyes would go wide before trailing off to the side, her train of thought completely derailed for a fraction of a second too long.
While Morticia would never proclaim to know for a fact that her daughter had feelings for you, it was easy enough to tell. And when Enid had let it slip all those weeks ago that you had taken Wednesday to perform an autopsy? Then the immediate darkening of her daughter’s cheeks and nose before changing the subject? It was all Morticia needed to know.
And now she could put a face to the name.
Across the field, Wednesday stared in abject horror as her mother shook your hand. The same horror that she assumed one would feel when witnessing something traumatic, such as a car accident. A feeling that settled deep in her stomach, clawed it’s way up her throat because as horrifying as the scene was, she just couldn’t look away.
That feeling of horror slowly morphed into one that she couldn’t explain when you smiled at her mother and your feather’s twitched at something she had said. That single twitch, the ruffle, put a weight on her heart and forced it to beat harder, so hard that she could feel the physical pain within her chest. Why were you smiling at her mother like that? What had she said to make your wings twitch in that childishly giddy way?
Oh no.
Her heart’s struggle to beat came to a full stop like a car hitting a brick wall. Her mother was leading you over to where Wednesday and her family were situated. The way you followed her, with your hands swinging at your sides, reminded Wednesday of an avenging angel; dark and foreboding and your eyes on every little thing that passed.
She wanted you to follow her around like that. Would you keep her safe from those who wished her and her family harm? Her heart told her you would, you always would, you had already done so time and time again. But as you got closer and closer to seeing her family, her entire being, her mind told her no. No, you wouldn’t keep her safe, you wouldn’t keep her family safe. You were far too innocent, far too sweet, so adverse to trouble.
But she wanted you to stay. She needed you to stay the way a gaping wound needed stitches. Craved your touch the way a an infection craved moisture. It was humiliating to think such thoughts, Wednesday knew that, but if it was the truth then it was the truth. She needed you to stay and be near even if it was as nothing more than an acquaintance.
Though she refused to ever admit it. It was a weakness she would never act upon.
Her mother finally brought you to the family and introduced you to Wednesday’s father and brother. You shook their hands, a polite smile on your face, and Wednesday felt that budding feeling in her stomach again. Your smile should have been reserved for someone more deserving than her father and brother.
You were invited to sit with them for a time, and you agreed quickly. Most would have tucked tail and ran, no one quite understanding how her family could be the way they were. But you sat down beside Pugsly - why would you not sit beside her? - and engaged in conversation far easier than most.
All Wednesday could do as you talked was stare at you. At the way you gestured your hands wildly as you talked, or how you held eye contact with everyone when they talked. You got along with Pugsly; why could you not get along with her the same way? Your conversations with him flowed as effortlessly as a river flowed into the ocean. Wednesday certainly couldn’t hold the same amount of engagement.
She noted the way your eyes flicked over to her every now and then as you talked or listened. Whenever someone would ask you a question, you would look at Wednesday first, almost as if asking permission to answer. She would give you a singular nod, and you would continue. What would cause you to look to her in such a way? Surely you knew how to answer questions on your own, did you not? And yet, she almost found herself enjoying the attention, no matter how discreet.
“I should probably get back,” you finally said once the conversation had lulled. “It was a genuine pleasure to meet all of you.”
You gave a polite wave, shook her father’s and Pugsly’s hands, kissed her mother’s knuckles, and walked back to where Weems was standing. Wednesday already felt feelings about you leaving; feelings that she didn’t know what to call since she admittedly hadn’t felt them before. She didn’t know why, but she desperately hoped her family had liked you, had seen you in the same light that she oh so often did. She-
-were you wearing her sweater?

I don't know why, but every time I listen to Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey, I always think about Itachi. Thinking about how much he loved his alpha and how they may have been the best person he's ever been with, that it brings him so much sadness, especially if they're not with him anymore. They could've broken up or something (because the odds are terribly against him when it comes to picking his own alpha as the future clan head). These thoughts can also apply to Neji because his situation is similar in a way.
There's a part she sings. "I think I'll miss you forever like the stars miss the sun in the morning skies," and it never fails to break my poor heart. Just instant K.O. It's past midnight, and my melancholy thoughts are plaguing me, and I just thought I'd share this with you. Summertime Sadness is good for angst fuel if you ever need it. Actually, just Lana Del Rey in general 😂
I'm not personally a fan of Lana Del Rey's music, but I can understand why you'd relate it to Itachi, I get those vibes.
Itachi is for sure the type to break out weirdly poetic statements when he's feeling melancholic, and they kind of sound like they should be deep, but Itachi didn't really go to school and he has no idea what normal socialisation is, so they just make everyone around him go 🤨😬
Genuinely, he could probably get his clan to agree to his marriage to his alpha of choice by just constantly speaking like that. It would drive everyone mad, and they'd give in as long as he stopped.
...
"Itachi, what are you doing? You've been staring at the pond for ten minutes."
Itachi: "Sometimes... I feel like a koi... trapped... in a pond... made for koi."
"..."
Itachi: "The only freedom... is not knowing that you're trapped... and thus koi are blessed... to never understand."
"Is this about that non-clan alpha again?"
Itachi: 😞

JULY NIGHTS |
It always felt like this.
Like she was alone. But the difference this time was that the room was full of people.
People who came to congratulate her, her and her district partner.
‘Hey have you seen Peeta?’
‘Excuse me? I’m sorry but have you seen the other victor?’
You couldn’t find him, asking every person that was here tonight if they have seen him.
But nothing
She looked up. There were the starts, she wishes
you could see them better.
She climbed the stairs to the roof, it was silent here.
She put her Champagner flute on the ground and sat down, If Effie could see what she’s doing in this dress she’d be dead.
Like all the other tributes, she won. Not fair or square but she did.
‘Hey’ she turned around seeing Peeta
‘Hey, where were you? I’ve searched all over the place’ she said looking at him
‘Oh I met some of the other victors, they quite .. interesting’ he laughed
‘You and the socialising’
‘Someone needs to ’ he sat down next to her also looking at the starts
‘I always wanted to see the start closer.’ She admitted to him
‘They always remind me of home, when picked up things from the field early at day before the sun even rose’
He listens to her voice like it’s a melody, he loved to hear her voice. His dreams have been plagued by her voice since early teenager years
‘When I look at them they remind me of your eyes, they shine so bright with willpower that people just need to believe you’ he said moving a hair that fell in her face behind her ear
She raised her eyebrows and looked at him ‘really?’
He nodded and looked behind her in the horizon, both of them were sure that the other could hear their pulse.
‘Happy July begin my love’ Peeta said in a smooth calm soothing voice
‘Happy July begin to you* she smiled at him. July didn’t have any meaning to the capitol. But at 12 in the first summer night, was special.
It was tradition. The children helped the parents cook, clean or hunt.
After this the whole town met and they ate, danced and sung together like they had no problems in the world.
‘You were always a good dancer’ Y/N joked
‘And you were always stepping on my foot’ he replied
‘Shut up’ she rolled her eyes playfully
‘I miss home’ she looked at him
‘I don’t. Wanna know why?’ She nodded ‘because I’m home where ever you are’ he said in a calm serious tone
‘Charmer.’ She again rolled her eyes, he laughed
‘I’m honest I promise’ he turned his head towards her
‘If I’m not with you I fell homesick, and abandoned. But if I’m with you, the games didn’t even have a meaning for me. They just happend and we killed people’ she looked back at him
‘I love you. Y/N. And I have since we were children, since we run together in the river and making our mothers scared and angry’ she laughed when she remembers the moment
‘I would bring you every star in this universe just so I could call you mine’ he confessed. She teared up
‘I love you too mellark’ she kissed him. She kissed him deeply and passionate.
He kissed back.
If you’d ask them which July night was the best in their lives, it would be easy both would say that, it was the nights in July they spend in district 12
before both of them were picked and thrown into the arena. Before the bombing on 12 or the rebellion. Even before of them being together.

You were shivering on the top of the mountains as you made your way down. You didn't expect rain to suddenly pour down. You were completely drenched and quivering. All the slayers around you were particularly males. You had nobody to depend on as you didn't like to socialise and you had basically almost no friends at all.
( Forgive me for that part. I know you have friends right..? 🫠 )
Your hands were frozen cold as you sneezed and sneezed. The other slayers looked at you and decided to ignore it and put it off as something light. Not only that, the demon you were fighting used a blood demon art that was related to ice.
You got even colder as your hands felt like freezing at that point. Your nose was red already and your legs hurt. It felt like stopping, but you didn't. You slashed the head off the demon as the other slayers were injured. You felt like fainting but then you couldn't just abandon all these people here by being unconscious, right ?
You internally cursed at the person who made your uniform. You wished that he made one that was like muichiro or shinobu's uniform. Atleadt you wouldn't get cold easily. Your precious kimono was torn apart by the demon as you clenched at the torn parts.
It was then that someone embraced you, it was warm, you felt as if you've been saved. You were comforted by the embrace, it was then when you turned around, you saw muichiro behind you. You were shocked, honestly. Muichiro just put a hand over your eyes and said " Sleep. "
You woke up in a warm and comfortable place. The bed was super fluffy while the blanket kept you warm, you were super cold as you wrapped the blanket around you like as if you were a sushi !
But as time passed, you had been feeling terrible for the past few days, unable to shake off the persistent flu-like symptoms that had been plaguing you. nagi had been checking in on you regularly, bringing you soup and medicine, and even offering to stay with you until you felt better.
Muichiro was clearly at a loss when it came to taking care of you, but he was determined to try his best. he kept checking your temperature and offering to bring you anything you needed, even if he didn't always know what that was.
but as much as you appreciated his care and attention, you couldn't help feeling frustrated at his lack of knowledge when it came to taking care of a sick person. he kept asking if you were hungry or thirsty, without realizing that you had lost your appetite and didn't want to eat anything.
"Muichiro, I'm really not hungry," you said for what felt like the tenth time that day, as he held out a plate of food.
"oh, right," he says, looking sheepish. "I keep forgetting that you're sick."
you tried to hide your irritation, knowing that he was just trying to help. but it was hard to be patient when you were feeling so miserable.
"I'm sorry I'm not very good at this," he says, looking apologetic.
"it's okay," you replied, feeling a little guilty for being so frustrated with him. "I appreciate everything you're doing for me."
Muichiro gave you a small smile, looking relieved. "I just want you to feel better," he replied.
and even though he might not have been the most skilled caregiver, you knew that his heart was in the right place. and that was enough to make you feel a little better, even if you were still sick.
He made sure to send a letter to shinobu to ask how to take care of a sick person. When shinobu replied back, he drilled all the instructions into his mind so as not to forget. He even wrote it somewhere in a book so that next time when you get sick, you don't have to worry about him not being a good caretaker anymore.
When he returned to your side, you realised he was suddenly an expert. He damped the towel and put it on your forehead. He even made you medicinal tea. You were in disbelief at his sudden skills. But you couldn't help but enjoy this kind of rare treatments from him anyway. You smiled at yourself as you watched him take care of you.
He turned around to face you before saying with a blushing face
" I have decided , I'll give you my heart, and you can have it all for yourself. No matter what , you'll always have my heart, and I'll never have someone else's. You'll always be my lover , my soulmate, and my partner for life, my love. I've never loved someone this much before, and I don't think I could ever love anyone else . "
– 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 𝅓 𝅒 –
This draft took me foooorever. I was actually planning on just writing about the reader being sick 😞.
BUT THINGS WORKED OUT RIGHTT !!?

Obligatory insecurities Pt. I
This is a little angsty but mostly fluff, wasn't planning on separating it into parts at first but it just ended up being too long.
Whoops.
Lucifer
Behind pride, sits doubt. It lingers behind the day to day problems he has to chase after and solve, behind the piles upon piles of work he has to sift through each and every day, waiting for the straw to break the camel's back.
Only then does it come forth, bouncing in the space behind his eyes, demanding he think on his failures. Is he truly doing what's best for his brothers? Or is he really the tyrant they call him.
Would they be better without him? Back in the Celestial realm? All of this is his fault, he is the eldest, he can't make it okay.
That's when they come to him, the human who to him seems to suffer no such doubts. MC's gone and barrelled through the Devildom guns blazing like no human ever has, or ever will again.
They sit beside him, and merely hold him, cradling his head to their chest so he can hear the assured beat of their heart.
'You are perfect, you have done enough, we're okay. You're okay.'
Affirmations tumble from their lips, and as if by magic they overpower the bastard doubt echoing in his head, replaced with the warmth and assurance of them.
But the affirmations keep coming, doused with affection given without reservation or pride, until he can think of nothing but the peace they bring.
Mammon
It should be obvious what makes him break. One insult too many, misplaced blame too often, lack of trust from the demons he loves most.
He knows he's greedy, he can't help it. He wants to best, for himself, for his family, for the ones he loves to have everything they could ever want.
They don't see that, and one day, the witches get a little too close to violating parts of him which were never on the table.
Nobody cares though, because he got himself into this mess, he should suffer the consequences.
Nobody cares, but MC.
They've laughed at him being hung from the ceiling for something menial before, rolled their eyes at his pick pocketing gambling tendencies, but when they arrived to pick him up, their eyes were no joke.
For a second, he's sure they're going to snap at him, instead, they pull him in, and hug him like he can't ever remember being hugged before.
'Are you alright? Did she hurt you?'
'I...'m sorry, I just- I thought-'
He broke, and MC caught him, guiding him back to his room without speaking a word. If the witch had tried to stop them, he doubts she would've survived the attempt.
MC sat him on his sofa, brought him hot chocolate, put on music, and cuddled up next to him, all without a word.
He stares at the homemade hot drink in awe, he's not used to being taken care of like this, but when he looks up, there's that smile that's worth all the grimm in the Devildom.
'Don't be scared of calling me when you're in trouble, kay? I'll always come get you, no matter how you got yourself into it.'
Leviathan
Oh boy, where do we start here?
Envy is inherently insecure, he's always wanting things he doesn't have. The next season, a new merch line, all of it. Wanting, wanting, wanting.
It's endless, and exhausting. Being an Otaku is by far the most harmless of outlets he's had in his lifetime, but what's remained common, is his hatred of people.
People and their ability to socialise and make friends so easily. People who take those friends for granted and go forever without acknowledging them.
Between the want, and the hunt for more, his head is a mess of insecurity and desire, except in the presence of that one human.
MC just has to sit in his room with him, and suddenly, he envies no one, wants for nothing.
They bought themselves a bean bag and set it in his room, it's their space, a little piece of MC which stays in his room all the time. It even smells like them.
Even when they're not with him, he just glances at that purple bean bag, and smiles. He still wants, and chases, but the yawning chasm that once plagued him to get a better one, a bigger one, a faster one, was a little quieter, because he knows there's no improving on his best friend, on that little slice of peace that smiles at him from that bean bag and makes him lose when they look so dang cute.
Satan
His insecurities are...dangerous. He's learned that the hard way.
His wrath hurts people when he lets it out, hurts him when he bottles it up, and though he's had time to control it, sometimes, one's nature is unavoidable.
Wrath is not synonymous with control, he feels like all Hell has broken loose in his chest and throws everyone away.
Especially MC, if he hurt them, he'd never forgive himself.
He locked himself in his room, fighting not to rip the place to shreds, until something slid under his door.
A note, scented with chamomile, with three simple words in MC's handwriting.
I love you
At that moment, those words felt like the be all and end all, allowing him to slowly, carefully, bring himself out of his own head.
I love you, they wrote. They love him, despite his terrifying nature.
It must have been hours before he finally opened the door, and found MC, curled up in the hallway, resting on a pillow off their bed, sound asleep.
They'd been there all along, and would be every time he had an episode. They know they can't be near him, for both their sakes, if this is as close as they can get, they'll take it.
From then on, Satan knows he's not alone with his wrath.
Asmodeus
Pretty, pretty, pretty, has to be pretty. That's what they see, pretty Asmo, perfect, sexy, horny, lustful, and he is all of those things.
Is that all he is, though? Just...pretty. There's more to him than that...right?
He looks in the mirror, muttering affirmations to himself as he puts on his makeup, until he stops, and the tears start to fall. The mascara starts to run, and when next he looks up, it's with blurry eyes that he sees something so very ugly, but it's not his face.
There's nothing else to him, he fears, behind a pretty face, there's nothing else there.
Beside himself, he reaches out for someone, anyone, and MC answers the call in seconds.
They're at his side and cradling him like the most precious thing in the world, right there on the bathroom floor, as he blubbers his insecurities like a fool.
'Oh love, you've got so much more than beauty. You're so beautiful inside I wouldn't care if I could never see you again, I would still love you.'
'Re-really?'
'Abso-fucking-lutely. You bring me so much joy without even trying, you never judge and find beauty in so many things, the world is wonderful seen through your eyes.'
Sniffles replace his sobs and he melts into their embrace, laying affectionate kisses to their neck. 'Tell me more...please?'

Only You (Xavier Thorpe x Fem!Reader)
A/N: I drafted this whole thing in English class. In my notebook. On the spot. I was like: Oh this is cool and I started writing the basic details so this is a more defined version of what I wrote in that notebook. I think this was a super cool idea and definitely one of my better ones.
Summary: The Addams twins are the newest addition to Nevermore Academy, a school for outcast. Y/N Addams soon learns that nothing is as it seems.
Inspiration: I didn’t have one this time.
Request: Not requested, unless I count my brain.
Parts: Part 2 /…
Warnings: Near-death, music-loving reader, thoughts of torture, mentions of pain, magic, mystical creatures.

~*~*~*~*~
As Wednesday’s twin sister you were supposed to keep her out of trouble. Despite that, you had to admit that you were almost as bad at Wednesday. You were different where you preferred archery to fencing and you preferred music to writing. Socialising was also something that you could do if need be while Wednesday liked to do things with you or on her own.
This time, however, it was definitely your idea to put piranhas in the pool. It wouldn’t be your first time getting expelled but the disappointment in your Mother’s eyes were palpable. You focused your gaze on the principal as she began to speak.
“Well, we don’t usually accept students mid-term, but given that they both have perfect grades, I managed to convince the school board to give you both a shot,” She smiled but it slowly faded as you and Wednesday stared at her with no reaction. She soon led us to the dormitories where me and Wednesday would be sharing a room with someone else. Usually, it was two girls to a room, however, it was requested that the two off you share a room with someone else, just to keep an eye on both of you at the same time.
The girl was Enid, and she was interesting, to say the least. Trying to hug the both of you, and rainbow every where. You scoffed at the thought as you stepped out from the bathroom after changing into your black school uniform, another thing that had been specially requested.
“Eek you look so cute,” She said as she looked up and down, she leaned forward for a hug but you stepped out of her reach. “I’m sorry, Wednesday and I aren’t that used to touching others,” you apologised and she nodded with understanding. Once Wednesday stepped out, Enid begun to show the both of you around.
It was all quite pleasant, until an ignorant boy named Ajax came your way.
“Enid, you’d never guess what I heard about your roommates, they said that she eats the people that she kills,” Enid tried to smile awkwardly before side-stepping to show you and Wednesday behind her. You frowned as Wednesday gave a clipped answer about how she fed the body parts to your pet spiders. The boy paled and quickly walked away, coward.
~*~*~*~*~
You and Wednesday finally finished the tour and began to walk together to the front of the school to bid your family goodbye. Without turning your head, you spoke to your sister, “What do you think?” Her scowl deepened, clearly unhappy with the question. That’s when you heard it.
I think I better start plotting our escape. You stopped, as you gaped at your sisters unopened mouth. “Did you say anything?” You asked, convinced that you were going insane. “No, did it happen again?” She asked, as she paused and turned to you. You nodded before readjusting your posture and continuing down the hall with your sister.
You had been plagued by these voices, other peoples thoughts, you realised. You didn’t know how, but you could hear certain thoughts of people. It came randomly and you couldn’t control it. When you told your sister she had confessed that she too, had been confronted with visions. Different, yet they both started to occur a few months ago.
Soon, you were in front of your mother as she smiled sweetly at you and Wednesday. “I hope you will find to love Nevermore, as I did,” She sighed as she looked at teh school with so much nostalgia it made you sick. “I will never be like you, mother,” Wednesday said, “I will never grow up, find love, or have a family,” Mother sighed at Wednesday’s harsh words. Though I agreed with Wednesday, she could have been gentler with her words.
“I was told that girls your age say harsh things and that I shouldn’t take it to heart,” Mother swallowed. You shot her an apologetic look. That’s when she bent down and whispered, “If you try running away, I have already told all family members to call me the second you show up on their doorstep, don’t test me, the both of you,” You blinked once without any indication of a reaction, “You are cruel mother,” You said. And she smiled, turning to leave.
It soon began to rain and your lips twitched a little. What wonderful weather to go with your less then pleasant day. Wednesday nodded to you as she left for fencing and you nodded back as you turned to leave for the music room.
While Wednesday played the cello, you played violin from a young age. You dreamed to be as good and make music as well known in the future as Niccolò Paganini’s caprice 24, or his La Campanella.  You grabbed your violin which you had left on the floor before tuning and playing your favourite pieces.
When you had finished Beethoven’s Spring Sonata, movement 4, you heard slow clapping from the door. You turned to see the school’s artist, Xavier. You remembered him from his grandmother’s funeral a few years back when he had somehow gotten himself stuck in her casket and was nearly burnt alive. Wednesday thought it would have been funny, however, you slammed the button at hot prevented the casket from being any nearer to the incinerator.
Last you recalled, Xavier had been in your debt ever since.
“You’ve grown a lot taller since we last met,” You pointed out as you bent to keep your violin. He chuckled and the sound made your heart flutter. Strange. Maybe you should go visit the nurse later to see if something was perhaps wrong. He began to talk but you tuned him out as you walked towards Wednesday’s fencing class.
It was only when you saw your sister swiftly exiting her class did you finally pay attention to you surroundings. You walked towards her before you heard crumbling above you and saw a stone gargoyle tumbling towards you, broken off from the roof.
At least you’d have an imaginative death, you thought before you closed your eyes, the last thing you remember was being pushed and you name being called as you gave into the darkness.
~*~*~*~*~
Your eyes flung open and you sat up instantaneously, scanning your surroundings. You’re sister sat on your left as she placed a hand on yours, showing that she was here for you. You looked to your right and saw Xavier, gaping at the small amount of physical contact given by my sister.
You glared at him and he quickly shut his mouth. You looked back at my sister as I asked her what happened.
“I was exiting the fencing class feeling self-pity when I saw you walking towards me and noticed that a gorgon was going to fall onto you, that’s when Xavier pushed you out of the way,” You looked at Xavier and back at my sister. “Please tell him that if he’s looking for some kind of damsel to fall for his heroic acts, then he’s saved the wrong person,” You deadpanned. Wednesday nodded and stared at Xavier, awaiting for his response. He just rolled his eyes as he mumbled about how someone usually just said ‘thank you’.
You ignored him as you were helped up by your sister, you shifted you head slightly, showing your thanks, she blinked back her answer. You both exited but you paused a few steps from the door, poking back, you could have sworn that you heard that familiar tapping of fingers.
You turned to your sister and saw her doing the same as she eyed the same spot you were just looking at. She glanced at you and you shrugged before following your sister back to Ophelia hall where you would be making some adjustments to your room.
~*~*~*~*~
The rest of your day was interesting, to summarise, Enid and Wednesday argued like dogs and cats, Ms Thornhill interrupted and gifted you and Wednesday flowers, the you found Xavier again, spoke to each other — though it seemed that something was on his mind — before he rushed off and you returned to your room.
Your sister was typing away at her type writer when you entered, the sound of ruffling sheets caught you attention, and Wednesday instantly stopped typing. You lifted the sheets of your own bed to see thing. You glared the hand and grabbed it while it seemed to shriek and try and grab the mattress.
“You have two options,” You threatened, passing the hand to your sister while she opened a drawer. She calmly, slowly began to lower the hand as she continued your sentence, “We can lock you in this drawer for the rest of the year, you will try and crawl your way out as you are driven crazy, your nails slowly becoming bloody and battered at your failed attempts,” She blinked once at you and you smiled, thee smile was small like and adders as you approached like a wolf surveying it’s prey. “Or, you can pledge your undying loyalty to us and help us escape,” Thing frantically nodded. Wednesday closed the drawer and set thing down on the table, and so he began to pledge his loyalty.
“Now,” You started again as you let your smile drop, “How an we escape this hell?” And for a second, you could have sworn that your sister’s lips twitched up in answer.
~*~*~*~*~
You decided to go for a walk around the school campus, that was when you spotted a rundown shed. You entered slowly before you realised that Xavier was inside, painting…
“What is that,” You asked as he jumped slightly at the sound of your voice. You approached the canvas gingerly. He looked back at you and to the canvas as he sighed. “I don’t know,” He admitted, “I get these visions, every night of his monster, and it’s s overwhelming, so I just…paint,” He gestured to the large canvas where the monster was staring menacingly, it’s large mouth was open, showing it’s menacing fangs.
That’s when disaster struck.
The second he waved his hand, the monster came alive as it reached out and scratched Xavier’s neck. You stepped back, shocked that Xavier would let the monster come to life. “I thought you had control of your power,” You said as you rushed to get a clean cloth near-by. He pointed to a medical kit he kept by a bed. You grabbed some bandages and cleaning solutions to clean the fresh wounds. You stood in front of him and peered up at his neck, that was when you realised he was too tall.
“Sit down,” You ordered. He chuckled as you grabbed a stool for him to sit down. “You’re short,” “No you’re just tall, who the hell is 6 feet these days,” You snapped back. Since you were feeling annoyed, you didn’t warn him before pressing the alcohol covered cloth to the cut. He hissed and bit his cheek as he clutched the edge of the stool. A snort slipped out as you continued to clean the cut.
“Was that a laugh, Ms Addams?” He tried to look back but you slapped the back of his head, making him laugh, again. “Tell anyone and they wouldn’t believe you, and I will bury you alive,” You threatened.
And that’s how you spent the rest of the night, laughing and making jokes with Xavier. Well, he made jokes and you laughed, but only a little.

A/N: They are SO CUTE!!!! What do you think? I think I’m in love. This is only the first part, but I plan to recreate the whole series with YN Addams inside. I think it would be a fun way to practice my writing and get a better understanding of every character before season 2.
