I'm not new to Tumblr, but this is a new blog! I needed a fresh start.

I'm a queer writer trying to publish my first novel. I love fandom, but I haven't been active in it for a while and I miss it. Fandoms I've been a part of are Orphan Black (mostly soccercop and propunk), Ghostbusters 2016 (Holtzbert all the way), and Haunting of Bly Manor (Damie is the cutest). When I want something to just play in the background, it's Bob's Burgers for me.

I'm not caught up yet, but I love Critical Role. Imodna is my jam this campaign, but I'm excited to see where Candela Obscura takes us!

Real life stuff, I love cats. I'm a bit of a crazy cat lady. I'm your average neurodivergent, depressed millennial who was diagnosed with ADHD after 30. 😂 Working through therapy and unpacking all the family traumas. It's the funnest.

relatively new-ish supercorp fan here, and since i am kind of new it's hard to find older info, but i was wondering why the fandom went with the name supercorp for the ship? and not karlena or any other ship name that actually has the girls' names in them?

i’m not actually sure! i stumbled blindly in here between seasons 4 and 5, so i wasn’t around in the early days of ship evolution. i actually never even bothered to consider how strange it is to not include lena’s name until i saw a tweet this week commenting on how weird it is to include “corporation” in a ship name and like—- it really fucking is lmao.

the only other time i’ve seen epithets used in ship names is for the clonecest ships in orphan black where we ended up with the likes of punkymonkey, soccercop, propunk, etc. not a single name to be found!

#fwiw i think there are still some things tagged ‘karlena’ from the early days #so it was obviously in play at some point but i really can’t imagine what pushed us into supercorp #maybe a focus on supergirl over kara or something? because you can’t well use ‘super’ or ‘girl’ on either side of a portmanteau #superlena. lenagirl #lmao #but yeah not sure how we committed to the supergirl bit instead of sticking with kara #answered #anonymous #supercorp

Alison pulled up into the deserted parking lot. She sat there for a few moments, thinking about everything that was going on, everything that she knew. It still hadn’t quite sunk in, the fact that she was someone’s experiment, the fact that her entire life was a lie.

It was time for her to learn how to protect herself.

She stepped out of the car and saw Beth on the other side of the lot waving to her, so she took a deep breath and walked on over.

Beth was wearing her work uniform, gun in hand, her jacket slung over a nearby post.

"Alison, im glad you came" Beth has a warm smile on her face, handing Alison a small but effective lady grip.

Alison takes the gun with a certain reluctance, unsure of what she was doing or how to even hold it. She noticed cans and bottles lined up on the wall opposite them and she realised, this was target practice.

"Are you sure this is a good idea? what if someone hears the shots?" Alison’s tone is distressed, the woman was so far out of her comfort zone.

Beth runs a hand down Alison’s arm to comfort her, that warm smile still lingering on her lips.

"We are miles away from anyone or anything, calm down, let me help you" Beth lifted her own gun and pointed it at the wall, shooting 3 times in a row and hitting 3 separate tin cans.

Alison watched, her mouth slightly ajar, but then she remembered that after all Beth was a cop, what did she expect.

Alison attempted to copy, lifting the gun with shaky hands and taking a shot, the bullet hit the wall itself and ricocheted, near missing her head.

Beth tried not to laugh, and made her way to stand behind her, placing her hands over Alison’s and lifting the gun.

"Okay, were going to go for that green bottle in the middle okay?"

Alison closed her eyes as Beth got closer to her, it actually making her more nervous. She could feel the cops breath on the side of her neck and it made her hands even more shaky.

"O-okay..." She stuttered, sighing in annoyance with herself and how silly she was being.

Beth let go of Alison’s hands and spun her around, the two still close together.

"What’s wrong Alison?" Beth had concern etched across her face, unsure of why the woman was being so odd.

Alison immediately threw her arms around Beth’s neck, kissing her roughly, letting out what she had been holding in for so long. After a few moments she pulled away, looking at the shocked look on Beth’s face and realising that she may have just made a huge mistake.

But even though Beth was in shock, she brought her hand up to Alison’s face and pulled her in for a second kiss, months of built up tension coming out in that one beautiful moment.

Alright! The official announcement for the Clone Relationships Appreciation Week is here! You can tell it’s official because I’m using proper capitalization and punctuation! Amazing!   

Anyway, so here’s the official details. It will be held in the first week of September, which is from September 3rd to September 9th. The themes for each day will be as follows: 

Day ONE: Favourite Moment. Any moment! Between any clone pairing! You can even pick a 2+ clone scene for this one if you wish. Or a cloneswap. The possibilities just like the clones are endless!

Day TWO: Favourite Physical Interaction. This prompt is it’s own separate day simply because it deserves to be. The technology to make Two Actual Tatiana’s touch each other is seriously so mindboggling that I had to focus a day for it. Whether it’s something as “small” as a clone passing another clone an object or as big as stabbing each other in the leg, tell us your favourite!

Day THREE:  Lyrics and Quotes. Are there any song lyrics or quotes from literature that remind you of a certain clone/clone dynamic? Or of a specific clone-centric scene? Or maybe an Entire Song that just inspires you to the ballpit and back that you want to make an entire vid out of. Go for it!

Day FOUR: Fan Works Appreciation. Got a favourite clone/clone-centric fic? A piece of fan art that just blows you away? A fan vid? This is your day to gush! Make your own post and link us to the original post, or find the original post and reblog it with your own comments underneath or in the tags!

This is a week that celebrates Leda clone/clone ships across the OB ‘verse, whether alive or dead, screentime or not (aka, most of the Euroclones). Because it spans such a broad range of content, we will be using a general tag, #clone relationships week so that everyone who’s participating can find each other!

Clone Relationships Week Day 5: Favorite AU

Personally I love when all the clones are forced to live in the same house.

Beth dragging Alison outside for running at 5 in the morning and Alison coming up with increasingly unbelievable excuses to get out of it.

"I can't run- I just took a shower!"

"Ali why did you take a shower at 4:30 in the morning?"

Rachel avoiding literally everyone. Like the others begin to wonder if she's even there.

The sole reason they don't launch an investigation is that the supplies to make martinis are always decreasing and no one else likes their martinis THAT dry. Helena eats everything in the fridge. This means that two clones are designated to go shopping each week. Cosima always finds a way out of going because of The Science. Besides she'd only want to go with Sarah and Alison doesn't trust either of them to follow the grocery list. MK also holes up in her room, mostly playing video games, but she always comes down for the family dinners. Cosima and Sarah supposedly have separate rooms but one of them always ends up in the other’s bed. Sometimes Alison will open the door in the morning to find Helena has joined into the mix sometime in the night. Krystal doesn't stay with them because she has certain personal needs that conflict with the living arrangement. Needless to say Alison was not happy to have to throw a half naked man out of the house one Saturday morning. She drops by almost daily though to give manicures to everyone whether they want them or not, or to just hang with the kids. Speaking of the kids… Charlotte, Kira, Gemma, and Oscar get along well and while they groan about some of the rather slow moments of the household, they are just happy to have some sense of normalcy again. Well as much normalcy as you can have with 5 members of an illegal cloning experiment as your family. The kids all ADORE their auntie Cosima and have taken a keen interest in the sciences, though Oscar usually prefers to paint with uncle Felix. Felix is there as usual, to strengthen the bond of the sestras by trying to stop their impulsivity and then cleaning up the mess once they've ignored him. Adele joins once and awhile and she takes Felix out for a well-deserved drinking night.

I’ve seen a lot of shows in my time, but never have I felt more represented than with the show Orphan Black. There are spoilers in this so, beware :)

On the surface, I guess, the simplest way to go first would be Cosima. A nerdy lesbian who falls for a french beauty who is suspicious as hell but Cos doesn’t care because damn she fell hard. That’s relatable. Cosima, and her ambition and her need to do good and to learn. Cosima. Her whole character doesn’t surround her lesbianism. As she tells Rachel, it’s not nearly the most interesting thing about her. She’s not in this show to queer bait or sexualize the content. She’s brilliant and complicated and sassy and unique and a fighter.

The same is the case with Felix. His #1 character trait isn’t “gay” he’s so much more than that. He’s badass and thoughtful and selfless. He’s an artist. And a caregiver. And the sense to Sarah’s senselessness. He’s forgiving and soulful. He’s just like all of us. He wants to understand his place in the world.

Alcoholism runs deep in my family, Alison shows how someone seemingly ‘fine’ or ‘normal’ has inner turmoil. She’s a soccer mom, but that’s not all she is. She’s an alcoholic, but that’s not all she is. She’s a manslaughterer, but that’s not all she is. She’s a drug dealer, and boy, that’s not it. She goes to rehab, she gets better, she relapses, she finds herself. Alison is the product of overbearing families and trying to find normalcy to be happy when she’s forced into a situation to not be normal. She’s buried in stress. She’s a mom and a wife, but god, she’s so much more.

Beth protected her sestras. Beth had problems with her mental health. Beth was an addict. Beth was with a man who didn’t love her. Beth committed suicide. Beth made Sarah choose to find strength. Beth made a sacrifice.

Art loved a woman who was stuck in her own mind. Art was divorced and has a child he loves. The woman Art loved commits suicide and her clone takes over her identity. He sees the good in the clone and helps her. He’s loyal to Sarah and her family.

Helena. Beaten, caged, bruised, abused, traumatized. Taught to kill, taught to seek salvation in murder, taught to harm herself and others. Order sent her to kill the clones. But Helena’s abuser lost. Helena won. Helena chooses good. Maybe it’s because of Sarah. Maybe it’s because of her good heart. The villain wasn’t a villain after all and now the hungry woman has become a mom.

Sarah, the love of my life. The troubled lone wolf forced to work with others. A mother afraid to be a mother. A mother afraid she sucks at being a mother. A mother who wants to run because she thinks everyone would be better off. Angry, sad, mournful. She was given a shit life until S. But that didn’t take away the pain. She thought she had to deal with it alone.

And when the fight was over, it wasn’t a fairytale ending. Sarah wasn’t happy. I’ve never related to a character more when she confessed she didn’t know how to be happy. But she had support. Support who allowed her break and helped her mend. She stayed.

Sarah stays with me. And Cosima. And Felix. And all of them. I think they bring me strength. And when I want to jump off a bridge, maybe Beth can stand with me too and remind me I’m stronger than this.
