hello... 😅 uhm, first of all, i truly am sorry in advance for being awkward 😭 but for once i decided not to let my awkwardness keep me from sharing (what i think/hope are) positive thoughts with a stranger on the internet, so here i am.

i'm not around much and legit only made this acc bc like you i'm a late bloomer here and needed as many outlets for my yizhan/wangxian obsession as i could get my greedy hands on, in the big year of 2023... sigh. anyway, as an avid lover of meta/analysis posts since my early fandom days began around 15 (oof 🥲) years ago, finding your acc was such a lovely surprise. i agree with your views a LOT, and really appreciate how eloquent and well-written your posts are! even more so bc there's a lot i still don't know and most of the time the source material is very hard to reach and/or understand due to the language barrier, so having other turtles to rely on to access those, even if filtered by their own biases/opinions, is wonderful. besides, such input coming from a new fan is also comforting and imo refreshing, juxtaposed with that of older fans... it keeps the fandom alive and all that jazz. it's also very brave given how ruthless some folks can be on the internet, and on this corner in particular 😮‍💨 it just felt like reading my own thoughts written by someone else sometimes. i gasped and nodded at your posts soooo many times djskdjdj thank you for that!

Thank you for dropping into my inbox! I love hearing from other turtles, especially relative newbies, like myself! One of my fav parts of coming out of lurking mode is getting to talk to other people. I kinda follow back anybody who follows me, cause it seems polite? I don't know tumblr etiquette. I just follow the tags when I get the chance.

I appreciate the encouragement! I try to avoid dramatics, so I'm sorry for the upset last week. The situation is largely resolved, and I am feeling more okay. I kinda backed off because I wasn't sure of my footing here in fandom as compared to others, especially as I do think I have some takes that fall outside fandom consensus. Again, I don't mean to rock any boats and I'm not invested in convincing anybody that they should have the same opinions as I do. Hearing from turtles who do want me to continue posting gave me some more confidence there.

So, yeah, I expect I'll post some more as I have time. I'd like to post more on dd (cause he's my fav). I'd also like to try to figure out gg cause that dude is so confusing to me. I do have RL stuff going on, and I don't have the time to be super-active outside of occasional posts. But I'd like keep posting stuff. At least until I get all my Yizhan thoughts out.

T_T omg you are too kind. i'm just a wee little niku.

i feel like my writing process is kind of. chaotic. i very rarely do outlines or anything like that. so it's honestly a miracle that my fics come out even slightly coherent. generally speaking, though, my fics usually are centered around a particular scene or character interaction and i build off that- how to get to that scene and what happens after.

that being said, my process may not work for you, and that's okay. i know some writers who are very meticulous about doing outlines and stuff like that. i think it certainly does help to write things down because you can really organize your thoughts. i just end up daydreaming the same scene over and over LMAOOO. it's all about finding out what works for you personally.

i guess that counts as a tip LOL.

i think also, and this is my personal belief, it is always best to write for yourself, write what makes you happy, and what you want to read. and the reason is that the only person who will 100% guaranteed read every single thing you write is you. i don't mean this in a pessimistic sort of way but like... you are your main audience!! cater to yourself and the things you like! the things that make you happy!! just have fun with it! and surely, surely other people who like what you have to write will follow! and on that note!! it is so much fun talking about fic to your friends. like sometimes i'll pop into my friends' dms and traumatize them with some fic idea i have (sorry moda).

i think ultimately, the most important thing is to have fun with it and enjoy yourself.

How do you think modern Aeons see Ada? I feel like they don't really know her. They're not paying attention to what she's saying or doing. They base their opinion of her on how she acts towards Leon and they will always justify her actions instead of wondering WHY she's acting that way.

She's 'nice' to Leon: omg yes true love uwu she saved his life see she's not a villain!!!

She's 'mean' to Leon: lmaooo you go girlboss point a gun at him yes end his life!!!

BUT if someone suggests Leon doesn't want her because of the latter, they act like crybabies.

She's like a doll to them, a vessel for them to pour their projections on. They don't wonder about her aspirations or fears. It's all so superficial to them. I don't see this happening to any other character (well a lot of ppl baby Leon but most acknowledge his rights and wrongs, and ppl call the other characters out on their bullshit, but with Ada it's just... you can't say a bad thing abt her or you will be crucified, but they cant even form a proper argument against someone who dislikes her, its always stfu hater r#acist and jealous). Like I like Ada but sometimes she pisses me off lol. All of the characters do. Why is it such a taboo for Aeons to admit Ada fucks up too?

I think most, if not all, Ada Wong 'fans' are Aeon shippers first and foremost. That's why they're refusing to acknowledge that Campom is getting rid of the romantic aspect of Aeon in the remake: if Ada isn't with Leon or Leon isnt chasing after her, she loses her charm and they have to acknowledge the 'ugly' parts of her character, bc they NEVER hold her accountable for anything. She's done some questionable stuff but they're always like "omg yes mother slay queen go be a criminal babygirl do your thing". Like they never stop to analyze her. It's so dehumanizing that her own 'fans' do not care to analyze her outside of her being the sexy aloof spy who is the Love Interest and acts mysterious and looks sexy. They are the ones perpetuating the stereotype about her. Bc they don't care to know her. They know everything they want to know: that Leon wants her, and thats enough for them.

Sorry for the long message, you're one of the few ppl on here who actually offers a different, realistic, HUMAN analysis on Ada.

i don't know about the modern aeons a lot. i only know one decent enough, and they seem to respect ada but of course aeon is their main thing. the ones that i do know less of but their reputation is very high and mighty. yeah. unfortunately, they don't really seem the... biggest fans of her. i can respect the motivation for her. especially with those who baby leon.

i mean, imagining shipping aeon and suddenly you get people shitting on ada because she manipulate him. blah, blah, that sort of thing.

those are the one who definitely just defend her for the #girlpower which once again. can't argue against that. ada is allowed to use leon, but they definitely rank up her mean heart. i think it's double down the comments against ada or they just really like that specific dynamic.

but that's when you mention the other thing, the ada needs leon to 'really' manner to the story.

that's another sad yeah to some fans and i feel like it's accidentally. like, i certainly hope none of these fans actually do it on purpose. or disliking characters. like, i have seen people who hate leon and people who hate ada (y'know disliking her character not disliking her for race or jealousy), and i follow both to get an understanding on why people hate them. i dislike and like living in an echo chamber, but how will you get the understanding of the characters?

i feel i am rambling now so, i'll try to hurry up. aeons want a validation of the past self of the ship. imagine wasting years of your life, begging for ship to become canon and re6 comes along and destroys it again. like, i follow an aeon shipper and a couple aeons get angry at the idea of shipping a different person with leon or even an oc.

like, i don't hundred percent think that they project themselves in ada. they want to understand her as well, but they are bias of believing ada needs leon. when... she never did. in re6, helena is telling leon to go with ada and leon rejects it. even he never needed her.

helena is like an aggressive aeon shipper, she thinks she understands their story, but who knows it better than them two. and that's where the flaw of the writing comes to place and the fans have to write it in to fill in the holes. making theories that leon is an alcoholic for missing ada or that he is happier in death island because he got the 'pussy'. (comments in aeon videos)

like this is messy, it's unfortunate that ada doesn't get many thoughts of fans. like jacksepticeye said, "they'll make cute babies." or the pieces of writing of ada repeat that ada protects leon with the bias of the OG games while speaking about the remakes.

i try in this blog to avoid leon (sometimes i fail and that's fine.) so ada can shine as a bad and good character. i don't worship the ground that ada walks over. i think she is hot. i think she is good but the writing/fans think that kindness is only meant for leon. i just hope fans adore their female characters as much they claim. the ugly and the pretty.

i hope aeon shippers think the same. i hope they aren't always horrible and try to understand half the ship they love

i know blood quantum like isn't a Real Thing but how do you go about feeling hm... feeling valid in your native identity? i'm sure being accepted into the nancy ward descendants (sorry if i misremembered that name!) group was an amazing boost but before that was there certain ways you like encouraged yourself to keep exploring this part of your identity? i've got the whole 9 yards of white person (blonde hair, blue eyes, paper white skin) and even though i do have native ancestry i feel guilty just Thinking about going to a powwow or calling myself two-spirit... but also it's an important part of who i am and i want to honor and acknowledge it i'm hoping this doesn't come across as like 'boohoo i have white guilt pls absolve me' ! i'm just nervous about my standing in the world and thought i might ask a fellow reconnecting person :> thank you!

Hey! So yea I mean, I'm still not super confident in it haha and even though I've known about my documented tsalagi ancestry for nearly a year now I talked myself out of engaging with it until like a month ago

To be honest? The thing that got me thinking of looking into it again was reddit. I had done a lot of 'how native do I have to be to reconnect' type Google searching a year ago and then a month ago I had the idea of doing the same Google search + 'reddit' at the end lmaooo and seeing people actually just talk about it helped, especially specifically cherokee people.

So that's what got me to look into indigenous discord servers [that accepted non-native allies, just in case] and then the cherokee genealogy Facebook. Like I said, once I had my genealogy double checked, I joined the nancy ward group and also the main 'cherokee culture and language' group that's only open to cherokees, documented cherokee descendents, and their spouses.

Really the saying of 'it's not about who you claim, it's about who claims you' is so true. Being accepted into those communities is what gave me the confidence to do things like put tsalagi in my bio and start openly saying that I'm reconnecting. And seeing that the cherokee are really open to mixed people and thinbloods and all. And ofc I'm still working on citizenship

So the biggest thing imo is engaging with actual communities, especially including people that are connected [cuz a bunch of reconnecting people talking to each other kinda aren't gunna go anywhere haha, so ofc don't fully take my word for it]

And obviously I've only been looking into it seriously for like a month so I'm super early in it. Just try to find some communities online, follow some people on here, etc. Facebook is good for this in my experience, idk your tribe tho, just watch out for bullshit open groups.

Also powwows are 100% open to anyone, so definitely go! Idk abt 2s much cuz I don't really feel like I can claim it myself [partially cuz I'd prefer smth specific to my culture but that stuff didn't really survive assimilation] But yea definitely engage in things that are openly shared. Get books, watch YouTube videos, go to events, learn the language.

i graduated college last weekend and i dont know if id consider it a Full Cry because all i did was tear up but when i gave my favorite professor a hug after i went onstage i was screaming and crying and throwing up on the inside

Hey um I know there's a large chance that you most likely won't see this, but I just have to say this. When you had first spoken up about leaving the fandom I was confused as to why because I didn't really realize how dry it was becoming. I just wanna say how utterly correct you were. It has declined even moreee since your leave (not saying you caused it or anything). I sometimes find myself comparing the notes/reblogs from Tom!peter fanfics to the tasm!peter ones and the difference is astounding ( it has me wondering if anyone even knows that Tom!peter exists). It's really sad, the fandom honestly can't be revived, like where is everyone??? I have so many questions about the decline of content in the fandom ( I know the interactions from the readers played a huge part, but I also feel like there may have been other factor that lead to this.) Did everyone in the fandom just grow up or something?? Anyways, I miss you lots and hope you are doing well and your new fandoms are treating you right.

wow this was a doozy to read but in a good way 😭 the delusional main character side of me wants to think my absence had an impact of any kind lmaooo but to be honest, the fandom was already in really bad shape.

lack of reader interaction personally wasn’t that big of a factor for me, i was incredibly lucky and am still grateful for the consistent feedback and love y’all gave me and i still sometimes look through reblogs on my fave fics for writing inspo :”) it meant so much to me and i look back with so much fondness on all the fun times we had with more interactive series, especially break my heart.

not to sound like i’m giving a ted talk, but what drove me away more than anything was the toxicity of the fandom. granted all fandoms have a certain level of it, but this one was really, truly bad in 2021-2022. there’s only so much consistent harassment and suicide bait a girl can overlook while still feeling welcome and excited abt this space 😭 when i look back at that stuff now i’m honestly shocked so many people stayed as long as we did.

rabid shipping culture aside, i personally feel like the mcu spiderman franchise took a big hit in no way home that drove a lot of ppl away. obviously they couldn’t keep going forever with a 30 year old guy playing a 19 year old, but their creative decisions in nwh are questionable at best to me. the end of mcu peter’s story was so final and abrupt that, combined with how flip-floppy the writers were abt a follow-up trilogy with new characters and a time jump, didn’t leave much room for fanfic to carry on. they quite literally erased mcu peter as a character and individual from the mcu itself lmao it would be pretty hard for people to write copious fanfics about a guy who has no one bc no one knows who he is and his family is dead as hell.

that being said, i really am sorry you feel like it’s difficult to enjoy and share your passion in this space. that feeling sucks and i hope that, if you write fanfic, the lack of engagement and content doesn’t stop you from being creative and sharing what you wanna share. trends and fandoms come and go in waves, you never know when a piece of media or an actor has a revival in the general public. i don’t know what roles tom has going on but if you feel inspired to engage in them when the time comes, i’m sure there will be ppl there to interact. you’re never too ‘grown up’ to enjoy fandom, especially not one as iconic and timeless as spider-man in all variations. if there’s a character, there’s ppl out there creating art for them.

sorry I just saw your response to my ask, it got buried underneath all the new ones but I agree it wasn’t just “a let's hook up but no, wait we can't do this anymore” thing, I think yes they prob had something going on before she and Joe broke up and were into each other so they really did try properly dating/giving it a go, but the fact that it ended exactly when he couldn’t follow her around on tour anymore because he had his own lengthy tour to go back to on on a separate continent is just no way a coincidence and tells me that they likely realized it wasn’t going to work so better to call it off now. Again just speculation but also since they both started seeing other people not long after also while they may have had crushes on each other, they maybe realized they weren't fully into each other as like proper partners. I also don't think Matty is or was as obsessed with Taylor as you think, I know things can come across a certain way because of how he talks and the word vomit but he just sort of talks like that and often repeats the same talking points over and over. He had a very longterm girlfriend named Gabby who he lived with for years after the first hookup with Taylor and then he fell super, super in love with Twigs. They were rumored to be engaged before she broke it off, she was the love of his life per his own words and by all accounts he was extremely devastated by the breakup.

Look, I don’t think theirs is a love story for the ages but as I said I think they had an affair in part because of unfinished business from 2014 when it didn’t really go anywhere and they both built up ideas around each other in their heads about one another and they both had longterm relationships ending and I think they just went all in and stuff. But there is a big difference between the shit we build up in our heads and reality and I think that’s why it didn’t work.

out of all of your favorite character, who would you say is the least popular or most obscure?

cw: straight people i was thonking hard for this one... my most obscure fave would be Kurumi Sahana from an ecchi manga that i was obsessed with in 2017. its named sundome and i will.. explain in the following paragraphs why i like this one a bit too much

it starts as a regular ecchi (with nasty vibes) its about two highschoolers, straight guy gets interested in the girl and the girl is sort of flirty etc etc etc . the comedy revolves around dick jokes which gets me laughing real hard because i have the mental capacity of a 14 year old

but then after some point these two start... a real actual.. semi healthy... kinky dom sub relationship..?? i mean they explore their wants and needs.... in a.......... normal human way????

they are able to communicate with each other??? communication? in my romance manga? never done before. show stopping... also they still act like highschoolers... but not dumb highschoolers... u get me...

oh and. it gets. real fucking profound. REAL PROFOUND. the only manga other than trimax i needed to take breaks while reading because it made me feel too many stuff LMAOOO

its about love and how loving someone can improve you as a person... its about trust... (and orgasm denial and golden showers)... i think it really changed my brain chemistry back then. i reread it a few months ago and well its still as good as i remember, i just have a few more microaggressions with some of the jokes. (this one is awesome though)

and kurumi s awesome because. she s a really complex character..................she s......... very compelling to think about...

she's so mysterious and dominant but soooo vulnerable at the same time... and its so easy to love her because the straight guy loves her so much and ....... he keeps sharing how he loves her.... and his love is real huge that you cant help but share it... its our wife now..... sorry.....

oh and the ending. i will not be spoiling anything. but it explodes my balls like holy shit. damn. makes an impression kinda... hits home with a wrecking ball kinda ending. i ended up writing a whole essay............................ its ok if you didnt reply to this at all im sure it takes 10 minutes to read damn..... it would be funny if you knew the manga tho ....... You were getting ready to leave work when your phone vibrated on your desk. You paused, looking down at the number. It wasn’t in your contacts, but you picked it up anyway, having a very singular hope for who it was.

“Hello?”

“Hey, it’s Juan,” he paused for a beat, “From T-M?”

You chuckled, “I remember. I was hoping to hear from you,” you spun slightly from side to side in your desk chair, “Was starting to worry you took off with my car.”

He laughed, “No, no, nothing like that. It’s, uh, it’s good to go, though.”

“Really?” they’d had your car for a couple days, and you were on the brink of losing hope that they’d be able to fix it.

“Yea. So, uh, if you wanna come and pick it up, you can.”

“Holy shit,” you laughed in disbelief, “Alright, yea. I’m just getting ready to leave work. I’ll be there in thirty? Is that alright?”

“I’ll be here,” there was a softness to his tone and you could almost picture the smile on his face.

“Perfect. See you soon.”

You hung up the phone and finished packing up your things as quickly as you could. Tucking your bag onto your shoulder, you made your way towards the front doors of the building. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect—right before your phone call you’d gotten the notification that your ride was ready for you. Hopping into the car, you gave them the new address, relieved that they didn’t seem bothered by the last-minute changes.

When they parked outside the compound, you thanked them once more and gave them an extra tip before hopping out of the car. You walked onto the lot, and it all felt much quieter and emptier than when you’d been there a few days before. It was technically after business hours, sure, but not by much. You spotted all the bikes lined up and you assumed that that was the reason for it being so quiet, not the fact that it was after five o’clock.

You made your way towards the garage bays, one of them housing your car. You looked around but there were no mechanics in sight. You gnawed at the inside of your bottom lip as you scanned for Juice, or really anyone who could help you out. When you saw that the garage was truly empty, you made your way over to the office. Rapping your knuckles lightly on the door, you waited for a response.

“Come in,” you recognized the woman’s voice from your last visit.

You peeked your head inside, a sheepish smile on your face, “Hey. Sorry, I know it’s after hours but—”

“You dropped your car off the other day, right?” she gestured vaguely at you with the glasses in her hand, “Juice took care of you?���

“Um,” you fought the urge to stammer, “yea. He called me a little bit ago, said my car was good to go?”

She nodded, “It is. Let me go grab him—the boys yanked him aside for some other business,” she gestured to the chair, “Take a seat. I’ll be right back.”

You did as she said, holding your purse in your lap as you looked around the office. You knew that there must’ve been a method to the madness, but you were truly surprised by how many forms and business cards covered what seemed like every inch of wall space. There were a few stray papers still on the desk, and you wondered if any of them were for you. Just as you were about to try and take a look, you heard the clicking of the woman’s boots as she walked back into the office.

“Juice will finished getting you squared up,” she tucked a few papers away, and handed the rest to Juice, who had walked in a couple steps behind her with a sheepish smile on his face.

“Thanks, Gem,” he said, his voice a little soft as she grabbed her bag to leave.

“Don’t mention it. Just make sure the guys don’t yank you away next time you’re supposed to be doing shit,” she turned to you and smiled, “Have a good night, sweetheart.”

You nodded, intrigued by the entire interaction, “You too, thank you.”

There was a nervous smile on Juice’s face as he sat down across from you, “Sorry.”

“For what?”

“I was planning on being out here when you got here. But the guys needed help with some stuff.”

You chuckled, shaking your head, “It’s really not a problem,” you paused, “Am I gonna cry at how much this is gonna cost me?”

He laughed, shaking his head, “No, no. I got you a good deal on parts and shit. And, uh, I didn’t get you for labor.”

“What?” you shook your head, “Juan, no, come on. You, you can’t do that.”

“Sure I can,” he smiled, “Really, it’s fine.”

You hated the feeling of accepting charity from someone, especially someone you didn’t really know all that well. It was one thing if he was just getting you a good deal on a couple parts, but this was different. Accepting help with anything had never been easy, let alone when it came to money.

He saw the hesitation on your face and waited for you to meet his eyes, “Hey, think of it this way,” he chuckled as he slid the paperwork over to you, “It’s about what you saved me in bail charges when you found me on the street.”

It got you to laugh, and the playful spark in his eyes was difficult to turn away from or say no to. Finally, you gave a slight nod as you handed over your card and started to sign the papers. His eyes didn’t stray from you as he ran your card. He knew that he should reel it in, but he also didn’t know if this was going to be the last time he ever saw you. The fact that he ever ran into you again after that day on the street was nothing short of a miracle. He wondered when his luck was going to run out.

“Alright,” he forced himself to think about the situation at hand, “I think that means you’re all set.”

You slipped your card back into your purse, “I really can’t thank you enough.”

“No need to thank me,” he smiled as he stood up from his chair, “It’s what we do here.”

The two of you walked out of the office to see that someone had already moved your car out of the garage bay that it had been parked in. You didn’t think much of it until you saw the confusion etched into the features of Juice’s face. His eyes immediately went to the other building on the lot, and your gaze followed. You saw a few men sitting out on the picnic table—you recognized two of them from your previous visit, but one of the faces as new to you. Juice shook his head slightly as he continued to walk with you to the car.

“So you should be all good to go,” he smiled as he leaned back against your car, “but if something else goes wrong just, y’know, give us a call.”

“Do I need to use the T-M number? Or do I get to use your personal hotline for that?”

He couldn’t meet your gaze as he let out a nervous chuckle, “Either one will work,” he cleared his throat, “Lemme get your keys.”

He opened the driver’s door, expecting to find the keys under the visor where they always put them if they had to leave the keys with a car. When he didn’t find them there or in the console, he let out a sigh. Knowing exactly where they were, he cast a glance over at the men sitting on the table.

Jax had the most satisfied grin on his face as he twirled your keys around his finger, whistling and gesturing for Juice to come over, “I got ‘em.”

Juice rolled his eyes, knowing that he was getting set up to get you roped into something with them. He didn’t know what, exactly, but he had no desire to find out. He offered you an apologetic look, “Gimme a sec, I’ll go grab your keys.”

You laughed, nodding, “Whatever you gotta do.”

You watched as he jogged over to the men at the table. You couldn’t see the look on his face, but the satisfied grins and smirks of the men facing him were enough to tell you that they were definitely giving him a bit of a hard time about something. More likely than not it had to do with the puppy-dog look in his eyes whenever he was looking at you.

“Y/N,” Jax called over to you with a slick smile, “c’mere!”

You could only imagine the look on Juice’s face. But still, you obliged to see where exactly this was all going. You tossed your purse into your car before walking over. Juice was shaking his head apologetically at you as you approached, which provided a stark contrast to the looks of glee on Jax and Opie’s faces.

Tucking your hands into your back pockets, you offered them all a smile, “Hey. Something I can do for you?”

“Nah,” Jax rested his elbows on his knees, “just wanted to say hi, make sure your car is alright.”

“Hard to tell that if I can’t put the keys in the ignition,” you quipped with a smile, “But I’m sure it’s fine. I did leave it in the hands of Charming’s Intelligence Officer, after all.”

Juice looked over at you, and you could tell that he was caught between laughing, and melting into the floor. Jax still held your keys securely in the palm of his hand, and you wondered what exactly he was waiting for to relinquish them. Part of you wondered if they simply wanted to watch Juice squirm a little bit more under the microscope before letting you go on your way.

“Juice mentioned that there was something he wanted to ask you,” Opie spoke up with a smirk as he lit a cigarette.

You raised your eyebrows, clearly knowing that they were throwing him under the bus for something, “Oh, really?”

Juice shook his head, “No, no. It’s not—it’s nothing.”

You weren’t going to push it, knowing that there were enough people doing that already, “Right. Well, if no one has anything to ask me,” you glanced back at Jax and put your hand out, “I’d really love to have my keys back.”

“You got plans tonight, dalrin’?” Jax asked as he tossed your keys over to you.

You caught them, shaking your head, “No, I don’t think so. Why?”

“Want some?” Opie asked.

You chuckled, not missing the expression on Juice’s face, “Depends on the offer.”

Jax smiled, “We’re havin’ a party here tonight. Nothin’ crazy, just the guys and some friends.”

“Oh,” you tossed the keys back and forth between your hands, “I’m some friends now?”

“Well,” he chuckled, “I figured you were, especially based on the way Juice ta—”

“You don’t have to,” Juice cut him off, trying to come to his own defense, “It can be a lot, so, you know, don’t feel like you have to.”

You smiled, finding his nerves endearing, “Right. Well, I’ll think about it.”

Jax nodded, a smirk still tugging at his lips, “You know where to find us.”

“I sure do,” you looked to Juice with a soft smile, “Walk me to my car, Juan?”

He nodded, eager to get both of you out of the current conversation, “Yea, sure thing.”

As the two of you walked away, you could hear the murmurs and laughs between Jax and Opie, and you didn’t miss the fact that Juice shot them a look over his shoulder as you made your way towards the car. You lightly bumped your shoulder against his own in a playful attempt to get him to loosen up a little bit.

“You really, uh,” he nervously scratched the back of his head, “don’t feel like you have to show up or anything because of Jax. He’s just, you know…” his voice trailed off.

You smiled, leaning back against the door of your car. You waited for him to meet your eyes, “Do you want me to stop in tonight?”

His eyes grew a little wider at the question, “What?”

You folded your arms over your chest as you watched the shifts in his expression, “I’d be more than happy to stop by later. But only if you’d actually like that. Because, and correct me if I’m wrong,” you chuckled, “I have the feeling that Jax’s invite has nothing to do with him actually wanting me to be there tonight.”

Juice’s heart sped up inside his chest as he tried to formulate a response to what you were saying. He swallowed hard, slowly nodding his head, “Y-yea. I’d…I’d really like that.”

You smiled, nodding, “Then I’ll see you later.”

You went to open the door and he reached out, gently grabbing your hand to get your attention. You could see the nerves in his eyes still, “They’re probably, uh, they’re probably not going to let up,” he nodded towards the men at the table, “You know that, right?”

You laughed, “That doesn’t surprise me,” you gave his hand a light squeeze, “I’ll see you later, Juan. Okay?”

He nodded, his shoulders relaxing slightly, “Okay.”
