“Are you ever angry?” You ask quietly, head resting in Bakugou’s lap. His thumb pauses where it strokes your cheeks, the far away gaze in his eyes suddenly snapping into focus as he looks down at you. He looks…different than you remembered, before you both were cast out of the pearly gates.

His hair doesn’t shine as bright as it used to, and it falls a little flatter without the halo pulling it up, soft. His eyes still hold that hardened gaze as a battle angel, but they’re deeper now. More sunken in and hollow, the flickering ichor now a stained crimson. His face is scarred and his hands are rough after the fall but he’s just—different.

“About what?” He asks, his lips pursed in confusion. You reach a hand up, stroking over his bottom lip, smooth a hand through his hair. You can almost feel the throbbing light radiating from him, can almost see how broad and ivory his wings would spread and hold you tight to him.

“It all. Everything. The fall.” You whisper, try not to shrink into yourself with the way Bakugou’s lip curls back in disgust. He pulls away from you and you sit up, resting on your knees, looking at him in such a way that his heart pangs in his chest.

His heart, something he’s never had a reason for when he still had his fists bathed in heavenly fire and no ounce of rebellion hidden under sinless skin. It aches in his chest at the mention of life after being kicked out with the only thing he could hold onto—you.

“Why would I miss my thoughtlessness? My inability to make a decision for myself? Why would I miss being a pawn?” Bakugou is all snarls, all snapping teeth and jowls, but it doesn’t scare you. He’s never scared you, even when his gait was limp from the impact of hard soil, and his hands grew rough, and his back grew jagged from ripped feathers.

“I miss it.” You whisper so carefully into the humid night, hands reaching for his own trembling ones. “I want to be holy again, Katsuki.”

He hisses at you, snatching away like you’ve burned him, like you’ve seized his halo and ripped it into two until it split into horns. Looks at you with such heavenly fire burning in his gaze that you want to shrink beneath him.

“Well—well I don’t. Find someone else who will, cause it sure as hell ain’t me.” You wonder who he’s trying to convince here, with his shaky voice and fluttering eyes and trembling mouth. You stare at him for a long while, lips wobbling at the gravity of it all. Your head hangs low, gathering yourself in your arms, head bowed to him—it’s the only thing you’ve ever known.

“Just hold me for now.” You murmur, eyes low as you settle yourself in his arms, forcing your way into his hold. “Please?” You tack on, unafraid of his bite, his snarl, his growl. Bakugou sits there stiffly for what feels like a century, but you’re used to waiting.

He gathers you in his arms slowly, pulling you into his chest, his body covering yours completely. And if you let yourself relax enough, you can almost feel the warmth of his wings surrounding you again.

my thoughts: this is a one-shot book (no cohesive storyline unless chosen) but its so good. so good. i thought shigaraki, dabi and all might in one book was interesting but never the less, super good! i never was interested in the mute concept but its written good? (but thinking about it all the other mute!reader fics are good but they wont nsfw so it didnt interest me-) furthermore, its so good. so pure. so hot. 11/10 would recommend.

Spoilers for Part 5 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure (Vento Aureo and Eyes of Heaven)

“Goodnight Fugo. Are you sure you don’t want me to tuck you in? Hey! Flipping people off is rude, you dick.”

 Giorno rolled his eyes, biting back a smile at the exchange between Mista and Fugo.

 “Can you believe that guy? So rude.” Mista grumbled before he grinned, stretching his arms above his head. “After the day we had, as glad as I am that everyone is safe and sound again, I’m fucking exhausted. You going to bed too?”

 Giorno knew he should but he had too much on his mind and wanted some fresh air before having to deal with the insomnia that was sure to plague him that evening. “No, not yet. Have a good night though.” He murmured, turning to head towards one of the back gardens, surprised when he heard footsteps coming up beside him. “What are you doing?”

 “It’s so weird. I suddenly got a burst of energy. So I thought I’d join you on the walk you’re taking.”

 “As a bodyguard or a friend?” Giorno asked, wanting to be annoyed, but unable to because of Mista’s smile.

 “Why not both? And I know what you’re going to say. “I can take care of myself Mista.” Or, “No one has ever breached these grounds” etc. etc.” He mumbled, doing his best impersonation of Giorno’s voice.

 “If you know, then why?”

 “I told you. Energy. A walk sounds good before bed.”

 Giorno didn’t have an argument for that so he said nothing as the two of them moved further into the vibrant garden Giorno had spent months cultivating, often with Mista’s help, who surprisingly had a green thumb, well fourteen green thumbs if you included the times the Pistols helped.

 After a few moments of silence, Mista spoke, his tone a bit more serious. “It’s weird isn’t it? To have mourned our friends, and knowing they’re back now, having only lost three years of time. Although I wanted to laugh every time Abbacchio kept looking at you confused.”

 “He couldn’t get over the fact that I had grown.” Giorno murmured, as he stared up at the night sky bursting with stars.

 “Yeah, well, you were fifteen the last time he saw you and now you’re about to be nineteen and added what? A few pounds and some inches?”

 Giorno lifted an elegant brow, facing Mista again. “Have you been looking at me?”

 Mista cleared his throat, looking away, face flushing. “’Course not. But it’s obvious to anyone how you’ve grown over the years. That’s all.”

 “Ah.” The disappointment was evident even to Mista in Giorno’s voice. “You know what? I believe I am more exhausted than I thought. Good night Mista.”

 “Wait, hold on a second.” Mista reached out, hand landing on Giorno’s shoulder, surprised when Giorno jerked away, the pain on his face unlike anything Mista had ever seen.

 “No. I’m tired of waiting and I’m tired of games. Do you know what I saw today? I saw a love that transcended time. I witnessed two people who reached for each other even in death. And I envied them because of that love.” Giorno confessed before cursing himself, his face becoming a mask of impassiveness again. “Just forget it. Claim my words as a moment of temporary insanity and let’s leave it at that.” He finished, feeling like an idiot. “I would except I think it’s important we talk about your so-called insanity.” Mista murmured, afraid Giorno was going to bolt for it, so he kept talking. “When I met you, you were fifteen, even though you didn’t look it. And you were bold and reckless but smart too. You spun my world around and before I knew it, I was feeling things I had no business feeling. But again, you were fifteen and even though the age difference isn’t that much in hindsight, it still felt like I shouldn’t. Then you became Don and everything happened so fast. So I took a step back, became your third in command. Don’t argue with me. I already told you two squared is four and we’re not doing that. Anyway. Third in command, bodyguard, underboss, and I forgot about everything else. Okay, I let myself forget everything else. So yeah, there you go. If you want to claim temporary insanity, so do I then.” “What are you saying now?” Mista blinked, then laughed. “Seriously? I’m spilling my heart out here and you’re asking me what I’m saying?”

“No.” Giorno stepped closer, hesitating before placing a hand on Mista’s chest. “Everything you mentioned was in the past. I’m asking you how you feel right now.” “Oh. Oh duh.” Mista smiled now, lifting Giorno’s hand to kiss the back of it. “Alright, prepare yourself. Because I’m about to drop some words. You listening? Yeah, you are.” Mista cleared his throat dramatically, before speaking again, staring into Giorno’s eyes. “You are fucking fearless, powerful, caring, gorgeous; seriously, I often wonder if you’re a fallen angel but refuse to confess that to anyone.” “Mista—“ “Ah uh. Not done yet. You don’t take shit from anyone. You rule over Passione with an iron fist yet you don’t get self-centered. You’ve completely changed how the mob runs in Italy in the best way possible. Do you know how many people whisper your name in the streets? How many you’ve helped?” “No.” Giorno replied sincerely, never curious enough to find out, afraid of what he would hear. “A shit ton of people. You earned respect Giorno, and it’s well deserved. But more than anything else.” Now Mista pulled Giorno closer, their chests pressing together. “I can tell you that I lied. No one can really forget their feelings, not when they matter. And I’ve seen who you’ve become through out these years Giorno GioGio Giovanna and I can say with absolute certainty, that I love the hell out of you.”

It’s done! *Cackles like crazy* It took me 3 months to finish but I’ve done it! I needed to write some happy after the kind of day I’ve had so here we go! The drabble challenge I began in July (Which you can find the entire list of drabbles over here!) is now concluded with today’s word (Day 31): Again. Once again, this is more of a fic than a drabble since it’s 1k plus words but I couldn’t help myself. It’s technically a sequel of the Day 30 Drabble: Love (Which is way longer than a drabble lol), but with a different ship because yes, I love this ship as well. The reason I mentioned part 5 spoilers is because, well, it technically spoils the ending lol. I’ll say this again too. If you haven’t played the Eyes of Heaven game, I highly recommend. Well how about I ask you about your OC/VTMB and OC/VTMNR? What guestures your OC makes that has the canon charcters all a flutter and when did they first realise that they were in love? :D

I was gonna answer this earlier, but then I saw that you showed me where to get Eternal Hearts and ended up on that wild fucking ride.

Anyway, now for something light, fluffy, and much less ridiculous: cuddly vampires!

VTMB: Maximillian Strauss and Madeline Jones

So like they’re not romantically involved but they love each other so I’m answering this anyway ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

(Sorry I’m drunk time for a TL;DR before I get to the actual question)

I think their feelings for each other are very complex. Not in an “It’s Complicated^TM” kind of way, in an “it’s indescribable” kind of way.

It feels like they’re not quite romantic, but there’s also shades of romantic love in there? -- not in the sense of budding romantic feelings, of romantic feelings that will grow into stronger romantic feelings. The romance element is minor, and does not feel like it’ll grow stronger. But just in the sense that while they’re not in love with each other, their love for each other isn’t completely platonic.

It’s... really hard to explain. It’s romantic, but not. It’s platonic, but not. It’s something else entirely separate to both of those things. It’s not platonic, it’s not romantic, it’s not familial -- it’s something completely different that I don’t have a word for, and don’t know how to describe.

The easiest way to describe it is that outside of Strauss’s dedication to the Pyramid and the Tremere, outside of Madeline’s dedication to her own morals -- the other person is the most important thing in their life. Their relationship goes beyond all description in the English language.

They love each other. They’re the most important people in each other’s lives. That’s the only way I know how to put it.

And when Madeline was exiled from Los Angeles, despite being over seven hundred years old and having seen many Kindred come and go from his own life who’d been part of his for longer than the ten years she’d been -- Strauss could barely cope with it, and missed her terribly.

What Madeline does -- Strauss is absolutely endeared by the fact she calls him “Wizard King.” At first he was indifferent to it, but after a while he started finding it absolutely adorable.

After a stressful night, coming back to the Chantry and hearing an unexpected and delighted “Wizard King! :D” always lifts his mood and makes him smile.

Always.

When he realised he loved her -- I’m just using this to mean love in general, not romantic love, because again ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  what is their relationship exactly???? I DON’T KNOW

I think it was after the Vienna Chantry bombing. When Strauss knew something was horribly, horribly wrong, but not what yet, and couldn’t focus on his duties as Prince, and had to focus purely on the Chantry. It meant a lot of waiting for word from other Tremere and reassuring the apprentices and magisters, but he couldn’t focus at Elysium and had to be with his clan.

So as he lacked a Seneschal, that meant he had to leave LA in charge of his Sheriff while he paced the Chantry’s corridors in anxiety.

In other words, a four-year-old Madeline Jones who couldn’t string a coherent sentence together.

It was a desperate move.

It was a desperate time.

After a week he finally realised that leaving a domain in the hands of a Malkavian Fledgling was a terrible idea, and came back to Elysium, fully expecting to have to deal with power grabs and put out fires.

He realised he loved her when he came back and found everything was fine. Well. Mostly fine. The Primogen were pissed BUT compliant, so that was PRACTICALLY “fine” considering what he’d expected.

The Primogen Council and other enemies had tried to take advantage of his absence and distraction and Madeline had smacked every single one of them down.

Sure, she couldn’t exactly tell them off in coherent terms -- but she was more than capable of dragging out their secrets, putting them on display, and reminding them exactly what she was capable of if they kept annoying her. She was more than capable of Dementating people stubborn enough to keep on going. She did not let them cow her, she did not let their stubborn refusal to understand her odd get in the way -- funny, they always understood her perfectly when the seer part of her dragged their secrets into the light -- and she did not let any of them try to boss her around. He’d left her in charge, and in charge she was determined to stay. The worst offenders had been utterly humiliated and made an example of with Dementate, which kept the rest in line. She’d made the Ventrue Primogen take off his pants and do a dance when he’d pushed her and tried to Dominate her in Elysium.

Harsh? Definitely. Necessary? Also yes. She’d warned them, and she only had so many tools at her disposal, and so she followed through on every single threat she’d made.

That was when Strauss realised he loved his adopted childe, and that he was damn proud of her.

And highkey wished he could make her part of the Pyramid -- Malkavian or not. Because if there was anyone outside the clan worthy of it, it was her.

VTMNR: Lettow Kaminsky and Elisa Mulgrew

What Elisa does -- Lettow loves her forehead kisses. Loves them. She kisses him right on his hairline, while cupping his cheeks or running her fingers up the back of his neck into his hair, and it always makes him melt.

She’s also very stubborn. When it’s not against him (for obvious reasons, lol), he loves that, too -- how in their last conversation before he left for the Middle East, she’d refused to leave the hangar until he’d promised he’d come back alive. After having a partner who’d fallen to depression and essentially committed suicide -- he loved having one that was absolutely fucking determined to stay alive, he loved being in love with a fighter.

When he realised he loved her -- maybe not quite “loved”, but definitely “had feelings for.” It was the night they were reunited after he came back from the Middle East, when Dove sent them both on a job that Elisa needed a bodyguard for and he was sitting in the front passenger seat as she drove and tried to entice him to talk about his experiences in the Middle East, so that they wouldn’t be buried, wouldn’t haunt him.

He was somewhat scarred by the Gehenna War and all the nasty shit happening out there because of the overpopulation of Elder kindred, and she’d tried (and failed) to relate to him, only making him feel patronised and belittled instead because she’d compared relatively petty experiences to his traumatic and scarring ones.

He realised he was falling in love with her when she apologised for it, and said “I just wanted to make you feel related to because I don’t want you to be alone right now. You deserve to feel supported. You deserve not to feel alone. You don’t have to be alone. I want to be there for you in any way I can be so that you don’t feel alone.”

After having essentially been abandoned by his previous bondmate, after having battled (and still battling) his complex feelings of abandonment and not-good-enough in regards to Aila -- hearing that?

Yeah.

He might not have fallen like a ton of bricks on the spot, but he knew at that moment that it was going to happen, that it was bound to happen, and its inevitability was something he couldn’t have fought if he wanted to.

As for the moment he realised he actually loved her? I couldn’t tell you; he sort of knew from that moment on it was coming, and he couldn’t pinpoint the exact moment. It happened so gently and so softly that even though he was looking for it, he never saw it. It just was what it was, and one day it felt like it had always been there, and he couldn’t even remember when it snuck in.

MMX #6 (SPOILERS)

Mr. and Mrs. X Issue #6 - The bottle issue we have all been waiting for! I managed to sleep through past the midnight hour this time around but not without waking up at 5:30 a.m. and realizing I should use the small amount of valuable time before the workday began to read this issue! I had wanted to wait until I bought the floppy from my LCS so I can read it from the pages of the book to try to avoid my usual knee-jerk reaction from my groggy sleep deprived reads during the wee hours of the morning. But, yeah right. Like that happened! What? Like I suddenly grew self control? out of NOWHERE? No sir, not I.

Before we begin I want to explain that I am ridiculously emotionally invested in our heroes story. Since I was a child and long since before I could really comprehend what romantic love actually is I had fallen in love with the idea of the kind of love that exists between Gambit and the untouchable Rogue. After the many years of heartache and heartbreak we are witnessing the best times Romy has ever seen as a couple. Their story is being written by a person who truly loves the pair and what that does is makes the expectations incredibly high from the diehard fans. We are the ones who held out hope and turned to fanfic when Romy was barely a memory in the Marvel universe. The hopefuls who kept the torch lit throughout the darkest and most desolate of times and we are a thirsty bunch who won’t let even a drop go to waste.

So away we go! The book opens up at GAMBIT AND ROGUE’S APARTMENT in Manhattan. Bobby arrives to the party on time and is the first guest to Rogue’s dismay.

We can clearly see trouble is lurking ahead from the loft windows. 

CAT SPOTTING: I spy with my little eye a Fiagaro and an Oliver and Figaro again!

Rogue takes advantage of Bobby’s on time arrival and terrifies him into helping cut the cheese and refrain from making fart jokes. Our hostess is clearly flustered and behind on schedule when the doorbell rings again... (Loving Gambit’s third party dialogue)

CAT SPOTTING: Remy picks up Figaro and bravely holds him again his shirt (if you have cats you know what I mean) RING SPOTTING: Gambit’s ring, ahh!

Remy’s father, Jean Luc, makes his appearance however Tante does not.  Jean Luc drops some foreshadowing of things to come with this comment about Tante demanding a visit from Gambit and Rogue in New Orleans. 

Naturally Rogue is utterly sweet to JL (if you have ever read a fanfic by the name of “Treading Water” you will understand why this embrace between Rogue and JL caused me to shudder) and Remy gets all of the blame about the spontaneous wedding not allowing any of his family to be there. 

CAT SPOTTING: Figaro Jean states he can’t stay but needed to warn Remy of the pending attack.

aaaand in comes the party crasher.

Love this little moment between husband and wife... “Wild Horses couldn't stop me” - Rogue

And the uninvited guests quickly goes back out.

Rooftop fighting ensues where the unknown t’ieves point out that their King doesn’t even recognize his soldiers. This is certainly going to lead us into the Guild issues Kelly has planned after the Mojoverse arc.

Rogue is a complete bad ass who joins the fight up on the roof with no regard to not having her powers but she quickly finds herself in a bind of which Remy helps get her out of.  RING SPOTTING: Rogue!

It’s important to note that this scene draws out how well they know one another and why Gambit and Rogue have always made a great team and just how much trust they have in each other. 

Love that the card he throws is none other than the QUEEN OF HEARTS (The card he gives to Rogue)

Quite the flashback to X-Treme X-Men days!

Though it doesn’t stop Rogue from becoming infuriated and ready to nip this fight in the bud because they have guests arriving and a party to host!

Rogue is going to have to pull out the big guns and take a much needed break from that collar. 

This is now probably my new favorite phrase: HOO BOY! Remy leaps off of the building in his bad-assery ragin’ cajun kind of way.

The comical moment where Laura and Bobby are a witness to his jump while Rogue knocks all of the thieves out with her new powerset. I can already hear the Gambit-only fans being peeved over this but simmer down, they need to get back to their party and this is the quickest way!

Then we have the amazing loft view/party scene.

CAT SPOTTING: Lucifer at the top of the loft, Oliver and Figaro down below watching the party goers. 

One of my favorite moments of the party scene was certainly when Bishop retells the pie story and Rogue corrects him on the type of pie it was (she baked Boysenberry!). I also loved when Remy threatens to push Kitty out the window while standing directly behind her as Lorna, Jean and Angel were discussing how impressive Remy’s amazing rooftop jump was.

Sidenote: TIL Bobby is cheap.  I truly wish we had focused more on the party in this issue but alas we move along to the party winding down (Remy threatening Bobby not to freeze anything - I wonder what exactly?) when suddenly Belle pops in as an invited guest. I can’t say unexpected because because we all saw the preview and knew it was coming but Remy certainly did not see it coming. She’s there to warn him that the Guilds are after his crown after he married the “Princess o' all tings good an’ honorable”. Remy defends his new bride against his ex wife however Belle won’t be deterred and has the balls to let him know exactly how she feels. I noticed Remy didn’t close the door in spite of her presence. 

I wasn’t a fan of the scene where Remy looks like a little kid who just got scolded but this last shot was lovely... and it transcends into the next scene where we find an upside down Rogue in the fetal position taking a much needed break from that collar. 

Speaking of unexpected... Magneto pays Rogue a visit. Though it makes no sense why Rogue summoned him at all it is incredibly unclear as to when she contacted him. 

This panel got a lot of people talking... some were mad (raises hand), some didn’t mind or care at all (mainly due to the fact that there was no real sense that these two have romantic feelings for one another) and others are claiming this is proving Rogue still loves Mags and trusts him more than Remy. (Bullsh*t)

Listen, aside from the obvious parallel Kelly was going for with the “Exes” the main problem with this scene is that she makes it seem as if Rogue doesn’t trust Remy. It makes her look as if she will confide in a person like Magneto over her husband, her best friend and partner in life. After mulling over this GD scene for about 48 hours I finally did some real soul searching to make sense of this panel. Kelly knows that continuity should not be ignored so I think she felt compelled to make an attempt to shut that R and Fapneto ship door as best as she could. 

Did this moment belong in this particular issue? I think not... I feel as if this panel was removed and more party panels were shown people would have loved the hell out of this issue. I think Kelly really didn’t want to leave the ex situation one-sided and she felt as if she needed to prove that the only thing left between the two of them is friendship. 

Like it or not, Rogue is the kind of person who wants to stay friends with people that matter/mattered to her. DO most of us feel the need to stay friends with our exes? NOPE. Do some? SURE. The point is that we as humans are complex creatures who do stupid things from time to time. People are pissed because Rogue is naive enough to call on her ex around a time she ought to be embracing her new marriage/husband instead of confiding in her old friend (and boy do I mean “old”). Rogue is the kind of idiot who would feel the need to apologize to the man she shot down that she didn’t tell him about her wedding in person but there is also probably some need for her to confirm that he has drifted back to the darkside because as a friend she would care about that too.

The upside? There was no hint of romantic love between the two of them. Magneto for once isn’t bad mouthing Gambit and is in fact saying good things about him. Rogue SAYS IT ON PANEL that she does not want to scare off Gambit with her warped powers. She even gushes to Mags about Remy’s approach of their relationship... smells like nothing but friendship to me. There was no hint of jealous ex talk in anyway but some folks will never be convinced. Anyway, with Mags out of the way I can only hope he won’t make any further appearances in this book because he’s the reason I quit reading comics in the first place and I don’t want him anywhere near our newlyweds. Ever again.

Rogue’s comment above about not being sure how many more surprises she can take is what makes the moment when Mags shows up seem like she hadn’t called on him right then and there. (~B’s 2 cents) Then of course she runs (literally) into Beast who provides her with another surprise. A pleasant one. (lol, love Gambit’s playing cards in the closet... I sure hope he buys in bulk from Amazon).  RING SPOTTING: Rogue (yeah I just  love seeing the rings)

Beast comes through for Rogue and makes her a new and improved power inhibitor tennis bracelet. You know she was totally kidding about the design but good ol’ Beast doesn’t know any better. Whatever, it works and is a much needed upgrade from that collar that made Rogue look like a poor puppy. The concerned expression on Beast’s face as he embraces her does make me worry a bit. Or maybe it’s just sympathy that Rogue has to be confined to a power inhibitor at all.

The look on their faces. Yeah, hosting is a shit ton of work especially when exes show up. How exhausting! 

I loved the moment between Remy and Rogue here that they both acknowledge that they need to talk (Hoo Boy, don’t they!?) but that it can wait... you know, for science reasons. 

Unfortunately they spot a gift they had missed...  (speaking of spotting - CAT SPOTTING: Lucifer!)

... and they’re immediately warped into Mojoverse. I thought it was funny that Kelly took a stab at herself with the last page. Ahhhh, those uniforms...  In my perfect version of this book we would not have addressed the Magneto thing so soon (but I am glad it’s out of the way) so we could have had a little more party and an indication that the newlyweds get a moment to test out that new bracelet *wink* before jumping right into the next crazy arc with Mojo.  All in all the bottle issue of MMX was a fun one that had a lot of fun callbacks to the past (some not so fun) and the change of art was a breath of fresh air! (even if Rogue wasn’t the most flattering - at least Belle looked gorgeous). THINGS I LOVED:  Cats and Rings! Gambit and Rogue’s fancy loft Seeing the X-Men party  Silly humor Rogue got her new power inhibitor bracelet THINGS I DIDN’T LOVE: Magneto

I think Kelly has a game plan that is not entirely visible at the moment but I’m ready to dive into whatever it is she has in store for all of us next.
