Photonic sneezer for sure

Beyond that I think his nose is much more sensitive now than it was when he was alive so being out in the wilds I think made him an absolute sniffly mess for the first few days

After the initial shock of being in the wide open world I think the sensitivity to strong florals sticks with him.

Usually sneezes in doubles but sometimes threes when he’s really irritated

Covers with steepled hands or tries desperately to stifle

Is REALLY bad at stifling

I feel very strongly about this - his voice gets deeper when he sneezes/is congested

Like we know when he’s quiet and genuine his voice gets a bit deeper and less performative

And I imagine he’s shit at changing how his sneezes sound so they’ve gotta be deep in his chest

Typically follows up with a dazed, ‘excuse me’

Expects to be blessed and will be pouty about it if he’s ignored

Once he’s cured of the orb the first time he catches a cold it’s the sneeziest cold he’s ever had and he lowkey forgets that he can sneeze freely until his partner or a well meaning friend gently points it out (or points it out like an asshole if you’re like that or Astarion lol)

Ok, so, I showed this off a big in my fic Viral Paradox but I'll hash it out here too!

Tony:

EH FUCK IT. Unrestrained. "Idgaf who sees me sneeze" mindset (except maybe under certain circumstances?)

He might hold back when he's hiding illness, but honestly he probably doesn't do that much, as we see him going back and forth on screen hiding and being openly fucked up on screen. He's got issues and I think it's very situational how he'd handle sneeze or illness.

Definitely a wet sneezer tho 🤭And he'd 100% indulge our kink.

Bruce:

Kittenish. Ironic. And it makes everyone snort with restrained laughter. He gets embarrassed but has a (witty?) remark for anyone who has a snipe about it (usually Tony).

"You don't want to see me when I hulk sneeze."

Tony: "That's super gross, dude."

Bruce: *glare*

Natasha:

*sneezes*

Everyone stares in shock.

Nat: *glowers*

Suddenly everyone's phones all become so interesting.

Nat absolutely stifles. I'll talk about other stiflers, but there are two Main Stiflers on the list, and it's Natasha and Loki (I'll cover him later). These two are the ones who have that 'get it on lockdown dammit!' mindset where they can't bee seen as weak (very similar trauma and backgrounds of people who make them feel weak unless certain criteria are met). Viewing illness or sneezing in general weakness is TRACK for Nat.

Also she basically RUNS the Avenger household and while Tony thinks he could do it fine, Nat knows (and Bruce knows it to lol) that things would hit shit very quickly if Nat left it in his hands, so she just Needs to take a bunch of Dayquil and muscle through ok? It'll be fiiiiine.

(Bonus, she does have a backup plan just in case and it involves putting Pepper briefly in charge of Big Brain stuff --with everyone except Tony making superhero decisions 🤣)

Side Note: Y'all, I give Tony a lot of shit, but just know he's a top tier character for me. I know he's smart and capable. His character development is fucking PEAK. I absolutely would die for him. I just love picking on early Tony.

Cap:

Used to be very sickly; asthma, allergies, the works. He's constantly expecting things to set him off. Probably still has an inhaler (just in case!) But super serum means not much makes with the sniffles. The Avenger fam, however, doesn't know anything other than "Cap is super resilient haha!"

So, when he actually does sneeze, they all freak out OMG OMG IT'S A SUPERBUG™ !! All except Bucky, who i just...reading the paper all chill.

"Relax, yall. Steve's just..." and then he shares a look with Cap and a silent convo... 'are you alright?'

Bruce does bloodwork anyway.

I also like this hc where Cap has been under the ice for so long Steve is photic?? Even though it's not canon I Desire it. Maybe to keep it 'consistent' (i mean, do I really NEED a reason but hufhufhu~) it could be early days only.

Lots of teary eyed squinting and hitching in bright lights, especially while he's being evaluated during the early days of ice recovery. Doctors were annoyed, having to pause their work for random sneezing.

As for snz sound, I image there's a P in there somewhere. Y'all know I like my Z's, but for Cap I think more of a "psh!" or something in that vein.

Thor:

Uhhh God of Thunder. Need I say more? SURE? A pic is worth a thousand words. And this commission says it all, really.

Loud. Booming really. A THUNDER GOD SNZ ECHOS and he's...proud of it. Ahahaha...oh he'll apologize. But yeah. He's fucking proud.

Here's where I'm open to interpretation with Thor. I lean more torward him being a WHINLY LIL SHIT when he's sick, because (I read a few of the Loki/Thor Marvel canon novels because I'm a huge gd nerd) and as younguns it just REFLECTS the whole 'golden child' treatment and 'Thor ate that spaghetti so welll! Good job Thor!!' So I want to say...(and we do see this in the movies, especially early on) he expects special treatment. So, getting sick? *nods sagely*

Our Dapper Asshole stifles because sneezing is weak and how !dare! a sneeze think about making him look weak--and if he has to he will discard it as quickly as possible.

So, as with Nat above, there's the trauma of being seen as weak from younger years in Asgard. I really wish we'd had a Loki prequel or something in the Marvel movies (there's still time Marvel!! *cough!!*) But in the official Loki novels, you can see it.

I would go into detail about this but when I tried to explain it I LITERALLY TYPED FIVE PARAGRAPHS MORE OF SHIT yall 🫣If you ever think I'm making up backstory for Thor or Loki, nahhh I farm my info organically, grass fed. I had a paintball partner once whose nose got itchy when he got stressed. I hc that for Maria. She's in a situation where she needs her gun out, and it never fails--her nose flares up.

Scrunching it, she dips into a grated, sometimes growled, half-stifle. Something quick. Eyes closed for the least amount of time possible. Efficiency is important.

Clint:

inspired by the bless you bangtan video that @btsnz made a while back (jungkookie at the very end is my fave hehe)

namjoon irl: on occasion will say bless you, but only during an interview or if someone else says it first my namjoon hc: very rarely, but sometimes catches himself saying it more often if hoseok is saying it a lot around him recently

seokjin irl: no my seokjin hc: very rarely, and usually only if he’s alone with the sneezer. doesn’t bless anyone in a group setting

yoongi irl: no my yoongi hc: says “bless” instead of “bless you”, but only very quietly and pretty much only to his hoba or his jungkookie. and on rare occasions to namjoon and taehyung. and on even rarer occasions to seokjin and jimin

hoseok irl: says bless you to most sneezes my hoseok hc: says bless you to every single sneeze for every single person, even if he has to whisper it or mouth the words. he WILL bless you. and everyone will know it.

jimin irl: no my jimin hc: sometimes, but it really depends on the day and the person. says it more often to taehyung and jungkook and less often to his hyungs

taehyung irl: no. he does not hear sneezes that are not louder than 200 dB my taehyung hc: no. see above.

jungkook irl: blesses one sneeze, one time, because he randomly remembered that his hobi-hyung and namjoon-hyung say bless you, and then smiles and is very pleased with himself  my jungkook hc: every few months he’ll go on a bless you kick and bless every single sneeze that happens in his vicinity. when this happens, he’s very aware of the sneezer’s needs and tries to make sure he has a tissue to offer with each blessing. then he forgets about bless yous for a half a year

Chaewon:

Her sneezes almost always catch her by surprise and she has barely any time to cover and usually ends up sneezing in the open. This leads to her getting her members sick loads of times. Her sneezes are among the loudest of the grp and they're usually wet. When she gets sick, she sneezes in multiples and her sneezes get quieter and more wet. She usually goes to Sakura for comfort when she's sick as she's the oldest. But it's usually Yunjin who notices Chaewon's sick before the others.

Sakura:

Sakura's sneezes are fairly quiet. She doesn't really sneeze often unless she's sick so it's easy for the members to tell if she's sick or not. She usually prefers to be left alone while sick, choosing to deal with it alone. But her members would have to remind her to take more care of herself while she's sick. So in short, she prefers to be alone but has to be reminded to actually take care of herself.

Yunjin:

Yunjin has the loudest sneeze of the group. Being American, she usually blesses the other members and so the members have picked up the habit and bless her when she's sick too. This leads to her feeling less nostalgic when she's sick and she really appreciates it. She has a forceful sneeze which usually causes her upper body to bend over forwards. This leads to her getting dizzy often when she's sick and is already weak. She gets emotional when she's sick and usually sticks to Chaewon for comfort.

Kazuha:

Kazuha has a pretty quite sneeze. Her sneeze is so quite that sometimes the members can't even tell if she sneezed which leads to her being better at hiding when she's sick. But she usually approaches the members when she's sick, craving the comfort. Her sneezes definitely get more wet when she's sick contrary to her drier normal sneezes. She likes going to Sakura when she's sick because they can speak in Japanese to each other but she also loves going to Yunjin.

Eunchae:

Eunchae has a quiet but wet sneeze. She usually sneezes in doubles. As she's the baby of Le Sserafim, her unnies get worried if she sneezes even once which leads to Eunchae wanting to hide her sickness from her members so as to not worry them. But that never works though as she gets super emotional while sick and craves the warmth and love of her members.

will do his best to cover them in public, but doesn't really care if he's at home/by himself

very obvious pre-sneeze expression, his eyelashes flutter and he does that thing where he fans his face and everything

despite what people think, he isn't playing it up intentionally, he's just Like That

can stifle but doesn't do it often because it hurts

fits of 3-4, the last one usually catches him off guard

prone to stuck sneezes

blesses himself (can't explain why, he just has that energy), not out of arrogance, but because he feels awkward when other people do it

dust allergy to the point where if he doesn't know why he's sneezing, his first instinct is to check if the house has been cleaned yet (side note it's so funny how pretty much every hc post I see about him said this too, ig he just has the ✨vibes✨)

gets colds often from overworking and stress, though he won't admit it (though it's more of a "won't admit he overworked himself that hard" thing than a "won't admit he's sick in general" thing)

either works though it until he passes out or complains in bed the whole time, there is no in between (it's entirely dependent on how much work he has and how high his fever is)

is definitely the "will you stay with me?" sickfic cliche

✦ I don't think he's really the type to stifle unless he needs to be quiet. He's more of the type to let bodily functions like that happen (and lecture about the harmful effects of stifling)

✦ No allergies, but a huge sensitivity to spices. Even just being near them is enough to make him sneeze

✦ Usually wears a mask when working with spices to keep himself together

✦ The sneezes themselves are wet and itchy. Sneezes either into his elbow or the back of his wrist

✦ Scrunches up his nose when it's itchy. You can also tell because his ears will get twitchy

✦ He'll make sure to work a bit while he's unwell, but also makes sure he rests. Not opposed to caretaking but definitely leans more towards solitude as to not be a bother

Alhaitham

✧ Singles or doubles

✧ Around medium volume, tends not to stifle but they're very harsh when he does.

✧ Mild dust allergy. Unless he's bothered by something else, he'll usually get away with a runny nose and a couple odd sneezes.

✧ Usually into his elbow, but he'll sneeze openly or into his lap at home

✧ Definitely tries to work through any illness. The feeble scholar has little time for rest (Or so he thinks)

✧ Prone to slight fevers and migraines, especially when stressed

✧ Gets a bit whiny and clingy if he's feeling extra bad

✧ Very little buildup, sneezes tend to come out of nowhere and startle those around him a bit (especially Kaveh, who tends to start a fight over it)

- no sneezing pattern. ranges from singles to triples, but it's really just unpredictable. triples are rare, but happen often enough that it's not exactly surprising when they happen

- has the most DRAMATIC buildups ever. this fuckin' guy

- absolutely has dad sneezes. i'm sorry b/c i do make the rules but like... i'm unlikely to write snz content for steve so it doesn't matter.

- gets sensitive? like, if he's being triggered by an allergen or is sick, it's usually not too hard to make him sneeze

- is fine with being sick. honestly, steve's the only one who genuinely doesn't mind being sick, mostly because his partners dote on him and they're generally very sweet :)

- runs warm. very warm. not enough to be considered feverish, but he's like. a full degree above the average person and is pretty much a space heater. can be very nice or very bad to sleep with

- gets sick once or twice a year, nothing more or less than normal

- illness for him is usually nothing or mildly Bad

- allergic to mold, but it's rarely, RARELY an issue for him

- embarrassed about his sneezes just because they're loud

Alastor Headcanons

So here are a few of my hc for our deer man. Aside from the more popular ones, like dust allergy/static snz, hides when sick, etc:

When he gets really sick, his powers malfunction and causes his shadows to drip and stick to things. His features also start to get a little more demonic, and his eyes get darker the sicker he gets.

I've been really vibing this headcanon that Al was disabled when he was alive. I'm thinking Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. The hypermobility, popping/cracking joints fit with his body movements as a demon so well. And having chronic pain/fatigue to the point of needing a cane occasionally. Keeping that kinda 'just in case' comfort in the afterlife. It'd also fit with his touch aversion, because EDS can make the skin hyper sensitive and easily bruised. 🥺

When he was alive, he did NOT handle cold temperatures well. He actually LIKES hell being hot because that boy could catch a cold from a brisk wind. He also gets very dry sinuses easily, since he's from a humid environment. (we don't handle dry air well AT ALL)

He's a good cook and knows great recipes for when people are sick. He has a comfort soup for different illnesses ("I eat this for flu" "This one's for strep")

Being chronically ill when alive has made him a pretty knowledgeable caretaker. But he's not great at the emotional part of it. He knows what people need physically, but he's very blunt about it. So, he'll give you a blanket but won't tuck you in. He'll take your temperature, but won't tell you whether you're fine or not. He'll just do what needs to be done after that.

right im too tired to write tonight (very sorry 😔) but i will tide you over with some k/az thoughts and headcanons and rambles because im in a very k/azzy mood 🫶🏻 hope this will suffice

- REALLY bad pollen/spring allergies. from like april to july he's totally suffering, eyes watery and red-rimmed, nose chapped and angrily scarlet

- a flower i think he'd be especially sensitive to is may night salvia (ill put a picture of it right at the bottom of this post) which just happens to probably be one of i/nej's favourites (she'd also possibly (probably) use it to tease him because it's so slender and long and AH)

- he also definitely sometimes forgets to close the window before he goes to bed, so then he wakes up feeling like his head is stuffed with cotton wool and it's only a matter of moments before he's sneezing in fits

- pollen sneezes are usually messy and harsh, practically unstifleable (definitely not a real word) so he has to muffle them as best as he can into his elbow (or freely into the air if he's alone and desperate enough)

- dust allergy too!! anything from dusty books to closets to vents will set him off. and he's VERY embarrassed of it

- his dust sneezes are very itchy-sounding, usually pretty pitchy (some would describe them as rather cute.), and they're easier to stifle than his pollen sneezes. often, he ends up in rapid dust fits during which the sneezes just sort of burst out of him in quick succession and he just absolutely can't get a hold of himself

- he definitely frequently has the two sneezes in one breath thing, a kinda "haAHH'ISSHHh-ISCHHhiew!" each time

- ugh the RAIN makes him sneeze too. or just generally being soaking wet. so getting out of the shower into the cold definitely teases a few sneezes out of him until he's dried off

- he can definitely be counted on to get at least one cold every winter. it started with a mildly sore and sensitive throat, then progresses to mild congestion, sniffles, and light headaches, and then it'll be pure exhaustion, wracking fits of sneezing and coughing, and the occasional fever and/or migraine. poor guy.

- cold sneezes are wet wet wet !! they're loud too, which he hates but he really can't help the volume :( he tries to stifle them but it makes his head hurt so he usually has to avoid it. so much for dark and mysterious if you can't even stifle a sneeze amirite

- i saw a post (might have reblogged it?) that had a dialogue prompt thing that was like "you can't get three feet from a box of kleenex without sneezing" and i just think that is SO i/nej to k/az when he's got a particularly sneezy cold. he probably has to either shove a load of tissues in his pockets or just carry the box around with him because he can't seem to stop sneezing

- i also love the image of him trying to focus on picking a lock and getting gradually more and more frustrated because he keeps having to duck to the side to sneeze heavily (itchy for no reason type beat)

She is!! I’m really touched by this ask!! I’m also a trans snz furry, so solidarity there!

I’ll admit I don’t have a full backstory panned out, but in terms of her modern upbringing, she moved out into the city right after she graduated highschool, and got a bachelor degree in business. Now she works at her own freelance business from home (graphic design), and is really living out an ideal life!

In terms of surgery, while it does exist in my world, swamp dregs actually don’t necessarily need it! They can biologically and physically change their sex at will, though it is usually dependent on mentality and how one views themselves. Dysphoria can mess with that visual, so she has a therapist to assist in mental exercises. It can take weeks, months, years, even decades to naturally change, so some settle for surgery if they’re able to. Boyzen did get top surgery, that being said!!
