At the ripe age of 23, Viktor made the decision to get married and bond with his partner, an omega named Dmitri Ivanov. He was tired of feeling lonely, and Dmitri made life at least a little exciting at the time. Being bonded gave him a connection to someone else, helped him feel less lonely and more alive. 

Over the next couple of years though, they grew apart. At 25, Dmitri brought him divorce papers, saying he thinks he’s found who his soulmate might be. So Viktor signed the papers, resigning himself to a life with just Makkachin in it. He got the bond mark surgically removed, but there were some complications and the doctors told him he might not be able to mate again. 

He moved away after that. He was tired of seeing Dmitri everywhere, tired of being reminded of the life he once had. Now, he works as a dog groomer in America, living about as happy of a life as he’d give himself. He’s got a good rapport, and he’s slotted to take over the shop when the owner decides to retire. Because he’s in charge a majority of the time, Makkachin gets to come to work with him on most days, and even if she stays in the back to support other dogs that are scared of the nail clippers, it’s nice to have her around constantly.

Viktor’s working the front desk today, because Alex called in sick and they needed someone on short notice. He doesn’t mind the front desk, but he definitely prefers being back with the dogs. The front door’s bell rings, and Viktor perks up, welcoming the new customer, “Hello! Welcome to Sketra’s Dog Groomers! How can I help you today?”
