i'm watching superhorrorbro's new video and while i disagree with some things he's saying, one comment got me thinking again about what happened to Otto and his sister, anyway? We don't know much, but I think we know just enough to throw some loose speculations? It seems like only children who were somehow traumatized/badly treated are able to reach the Nowhere (something superhorrorbro states, but it seemed pretty clear considering everything), that's the first thing. Also, if Otto is still not capable of moving on from Sisi's disappearance YEARS later, having lived the majority of his life without her at this point, then that means that she must have been incredibly important to him, and everything could have possibly gone downhill for him after she disappeared. Another thing to note is that Sisi was the older one of them two.
My personal guess was that Sisi and Otto had a somehow bad living situation when they were kids - maybe their parents were abusive, maybe they were entirely left to fend for themselves, I don't know. I don't think we have enough information to speculate on what exactly it was. What matters here is that this would have possibly lead to Sisi, as the older one, to be Otto's main caretaker - someone who carried most of the weight of their situation on her shoulders, trying to make most of what they had for her little brother. At the same time, Otto wasn't offering the same kind of support to her, although I don't think it was because of malice, but because of him being too young to realize how much she struggled and/or lacking a way to help her. (I'm especially basing it off him saying he was just a boy after Noone claimed that Sisi could have felt relieved to be free from him. I'm guessing he would have realized over the years that Sisi was struggling more than he could have known back when she was still with him.)
Still, this DID lead to Sisi being incredibly important for Otto. She would have been the main person who cared for him, and I doubt that his situation would have gotten better after she vanished. I think this would be able to explain why he gets so obsessed with finding a way to reunite with her as soon as an ocassion shows up. After so many years, he could even have a somewhat twisted, biased view of her as a person, thinking of the time she was with him as the "better times", having some kind of weird nostalgia(?) for it.
TL;DR: I think Sisi and Otto were stuck in some kind of bad living situation (eg. abusive parents, but we don't have enough info to speculate about what it could have been.) This led to Sisi, as the older one of the two, caring for Otto most of the time without having much support from anywhere herself. Because of this, she was hurt enough to eventually vanish to the Nowhere, leaving Otto - who she was incredibly important to as his main caretaker - to fend for himself in whatever situation they were dealing with. This would explain why her disappearance had such an effect on him that even now, as an adult, he is not capable of moving on from it, and grows progressively more obsessed over trying to reunite with her.

honestly the funniest thing about the NHS @ JC takes are that I have seen things varying from "Ofc NHS would not want to trust JC or even like him if he believed that he hated WWX and aided him in shixiong-murder when NHS was trying to avenge his own da-ge" to "Ofc NHS would not want to trust JC or even like him if he believed that JC was too weak to actually take a proper stand against the person who murdered his jiejie and properly hate him and plan a horrific fate for him" to "okay have you considered that Sangcheng should bond over losing most of their family" to "Ofc NHS understands that JC is the only sane sect leader left didn't you see how he sent Bicao and Sisi to Lotus Pier!" and I think it's funny

something i find a bit sad about most sisi shows and movies, like the empress, is that they often times get her wedding dress wrong. we have evidence and illustrations of what it looked like, so i don’t even know why… is it that hard to create a historically accurate representation?

𐑺 ˖ ࣪࿐ྂ SHE'S THE ONE — JACK HARLOW
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
new comment from; @comehomeimissyou. can you do jack realizing he has met his soulmate?
summary. jack notices just how much he needs you in his life.
warnings. fem!reader + fluff. wc, 618.
a note from sisi. im happy to finally put out something, it is short but it still something. im also working on other requests so can't wait to get those out. — masterlist / previous fic / taglist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was another late night at the studio where Jack was listening to tracks wanting them to sound perfect for his upcoming album.
You have been accompanying him to show him support, giving your opinion when it was needed, and you always did it with a smile on your face, reassuring him when he was way too in his head.
“But I remember when you used to be fanned out. I guess that when the whole world loves you. People only got one way to stand out. All that time in the kitchen finally panned out. I put some flavor in a pot and took the bland out,” Jack rapped while his fingers played with a toothpick, waiting for your input but silence met him.
“Babe?” His eyebrows furrowed together, confused on why you were so silent as you were just talking to him a minute ago but when he swiveled his chair to face you, he noticed you fell asleep on the couch.
A smile wore on Jack’s face as he got up from his chair, quietly walked over to you, putting his jacket over you to keep you warm before sitting back down in his chair.
Jack needed to finish this up so he can bring you home but he couldn’t help but to continue to look at your sleeping figure.
There was one thing Jack was sure of; if his career didn’t work out, he would have still had you by his side as you have always been there through everything.
You were his ride or die, Jack could not imagine a life without you. He was so into his thoughts that he didn’t notice the door to the studio open. “You good?” Urban questions as he notices how deep in thought Jack is as he sits in the chair right next to him.
“Yeah I was just thinking about something…” Jack trails off as something new pops into his mind, and before he goes to reveal what it was, he makes sure that you’re in a deep sleep so you wouldn’t hear the conversation.
Once he's in the clear, he takes a deep breath as Urban makes a blunt. "I'm thinking of finally proposing to [Name]."
"She has been there with me from the start,' Jack spoke as Urban listen quietly. "She always supported me even when there were times I doubted myself."
"About time," Urban blurt out, making Jack laugh. "I thought of doing it a long time ago but I didn't think I was ready and the thing with [Name], I didn't feel the need to rush into things which made me feel relax whenever I was around her."
"I don't think I can find another girl like her, nor do I think I can let her walk out of my life," he ramble as his eyes stay on you. "I want to give her my last name and then when it's time, start a family with her."
“I just need to get the ring and the perfect place to propose at.”
“Well you can scratch off at a football game, she thinks it cheesy and overdone,” Urban replies as he raises the spliff to his mouth.
Jack lets out a laugh at that. “Nah man it got to be special.” The sound of his laugh echoes through the room making your eyes flutter open, confused on what was happening and as soon as the sleep escapes you, you tune into their conversation.
“She’s definitely the one for me and nothing can change that.” A huge smile forms across your cheeks as you close your eyes back to make it seem like you were still sleeping and didn’t hear what he said.

Wei Wuxian: Critical Thought and Genuine Kindness
Wei Wuxian is so genuinely nice, kind and tactile. He's not a rambling, messy, loudmouth. He's never let secrets slip from his own mouth. He will never accidentally offer important information, or his weaknesses upto his enemies. Wei Wuxian isn't Jingyi. Even when he was a child, he wasn't that innocent, having lived on the streets and with Madam Yu.
And he doesn't wish to cause "trouble." If something will only cause pain and harm, he won't look into it. He won't uncover those secrets - such as those of Madam Lan.
To highlight his genuine kindness and tact, I'll break down this tiny snippet from the novel:
Tumblr media
Here, Wei Wuxian calculates that if such a devastating fact hadn't been unleashed on Qin Su, she wouldn't have taken her life. He deduces it was better for her to live as she was living than face this knowledge. Thus, he values life more than the truth, as the truth doesn't serve anyone - it only seeks to destroy. It doesn't protect.
On the other hand, now that the person who was most harmed by this is already gone, and the person who can be blamed for it is already being hated upon, the rest of the cultivation society deems it a great time to uncover truths. Yet, if the person who was harmed was their own blood, or friend, or sworn brother, they wouldn't dare uncover any truth! And if the person being blamed for it was someone who backed them up, they'd mindlessly defend him, say a person with no status like Bicao was lying!
Tumblr media
Now, all those who were jealous of the Madam Jin and her happy marriage, her beauty, her status and her authority pass comments that "oh, she actually had a shit life, haha, even though she was more beautiful than me, I'm the winner!" People are blaming her for being too weak.
Wei Wuxian is sympathetic towards Qin Su, already showing higher emotional intelligence than most of the people here.
Tumblr media
NOW.
Here, while all the sect leaders are busy with their drama, Wei Wuxian, who is naturally keen and notices small things, sees the gold bracelet, and understands that someone must have gifted and guided Bicao and Sisi. Thus, a rich man's agenda is to have Jin Guangyao humiliated.
Nie Huaisang is also smart. He notices Wei Wuxian's insistence on figuring out why Sisi and Bicao came here, thus asks the question Wei Wuxian is thinking deeply, thus momentarily slipping under his radar of suspects.
Once again, the sect leaders have no critical thoughts ^^

PLEASE tell me more about Death/La Mort in the Brussels production I'm begging you
Okay :D
This is going under a cut because it's going to be LONG. What the Festival Bruxellons did with La Mort is completely unique and special, and honestly, just thinking about the production makes me vibrate with joy. It's a bit ironic in this case, but the characterisation really breathed life into the show in a way that's never been seen before.
Forgive me if this is rambly or if I miss some details; I'll be happy to clarify if any questions (about specific songs, blocking choices) arise.
In general
Death, or La Mort, is a seductive figure. There's no doubt of that - when the first promo photos surfaced, a lot of people made jokes about the fact that he's literally wearing a mesh shirt and has his chest out for the entire show. However, it's a completely different kind of seduction from Tods like Máté or Mark. His vocals are silk-smooth; there's zero growling; and the choreography in numbers like WITW or Schatten doesn't have any of the rough bodily manipulation that we're accustomed to seeing.
But this is not a 1992 UweTod rehash (detached, inhuman) either! La Mort can experience deep emotion, and whenever he sings about how he feels, he's genuine. Of course, some of this comes down to song changes - you couldn't really do another 1992 UweTod and have Kein Kommen Ohne Gehen, which every production is probably obligated to have nowadays - but in my opinion, Brussels utilised the current song list well to tell a coherent, emotionally resonant story.
Physically
Generally, La Mort is like you would expect an eternal force to be; calm, confident, charismatic, smooth in the way he moves. He looks and feels like a prettier rockstar version of Heinrich Heine - a very magnetic presence on the stage. He has awesome makeup. In the prologue he sings "All meet their end in my arms, girls and boys" while lifting up two members of the ensemble (a woman and a man) by their arms. The smoothness kind of goes for almost all of the Deaths across different Elisabeth productions, but in the case of La Mort, there are also some key differences.
La Mort seems to be able to control people without touching them physically (he does a bit of this to Sisi during Letzte Tanz), but he doesn't use that power to hurt them - in this case, he mostly flings her around a bit. Notably, he uses his powers to "throw" Sisi BACK into FJ's arms at the end of the song. He doesn't touch her directly nearly as much as Tod does Elisabeth in the Vienna productions: to put it bluntly, zero groping or hip thrusting here, even though he grabs her hand. Sometimes he also delegates physical touch to his Anges de la Mort (in this prod, a group of four young dancers, who seem to act as kind of like his children or some "little cousins" he's taken along to work - in any case, family): notably, he directs them to touch Rudolf in Schatten (and Mayerling, but we'll talk about that later). He does also touch humans directly on occasion - after Bellaria, he kisses Sophie's hand before he and the angels lead her off the stage, and during WITW and Schatten he hugs Sisi and Rudolf from behind. But there's very little WITW airplane choreography, no Schatten puppet/doll choreography, and no Mayerling or DSF kiss. Again, I'll talk about this later.
He's also not above being bodily influenced by humans: during WITW, Sisi pushes him multiple times and he falls on his rear, kinda echoing what happens in Vienna Letzte Tanz to Sisi. (Also, to get up off the floor, he does a one arm side flip like it's no big deal.) He's also not above letting go of his effortless grace in moments where it's important: yet again, more on that later.
Emotionally: Elisabeth (1)
The most important thing about La Mort is that he doesn't care that he's getting rejected. Sure, he's invested enough to keep turning up to bother Elisabeth: but he knows he's going to win eventually. Their first meeting in KKOG has them both smile and seem to genuinely reach an understanding, acknowledging that Elisabeth still has a journey to go through before she can go with him. (Lyrics: "En attendant ce jour où tu posera ta main / J'ai un chemin que je veux suivre").
In Letzte Tanz, Elisabeth goes in for a kiss and La Mort evades it. He's trying to get her to come with him, sure, but there's no hurry, and he seems to think the moment isn't right yet. In Mach auf, he tempts her again, and then smiles for the entire time that Elisabeth is screaming at him to leave her alone - he doesn't mind. This also repeats after Maladie. In WITW, he tries to caress her face and she pridefully turns her head away - this seems to sting a bit, but he still doesn't try to coerce her violently.
Emotionally: Rudolf
For Mama wo bist du, Rudolf's bed is pushed onstage by the angels. Rudolf is tossing and turning, in the midst of a vivid nightmare, and gasps awake. During the first verse, La Mort hears him singing to himself about how there's nobody to comfort him and approaches, his eyebrows furrowed, frowning a little. He's quite gentle in telling Rudolf that it's useless to call for his mother, and after Rudolf begs him not to leave, he sits on his bed opposite him, leaning back against the frame, seemingly a bit perplexed by the child but also feeling pity for him. There's a cute bit when Rudolf says he can be strong and flexes his arm: the angels and La Mort mimic it. At the end of the song, La Mort makes a hand gesture to direct the angels to tuck Rudolf in, which they do.
When they meet again in Schatten, Rudolf is in sore need of reassurance, and La Mort sees this. They seem to have had an ongoing, long-lasting friendship (link: my lyrics meta about it). La Mort encourages his ambitions - he seems genuinely concerned about his despairing state and the state of the world, and there's no ">:DDD" (or anything resembling the expressions that MátéTod, for example, makes). He hugs Rudolf in reassurance for almost an entire verse (the 'nichts ist schlimmer' one); later, during the "what's holding you back" verse he directs the angels to surround him, and as he sings "Take the power!" he puts his hand on Rudolf's heart, almost as if he's "putting his power into him"? And at the end, he and the angels bow to Rudolf ("l'empereur Rodolphe"), and Rudolf seems to gain courage to act from this. When Rudolf sang "you are always there in my heart / my friend of terrible days / you alone reassure me when i'm afraid" and when La Mort sang "call for me, and i'm there", they meant it.
And then we get to the most interesting choice of them all.
HOLYSHITBRUSSELSMAYERLING
Rudolf, standing on the center of the stage alone, having been denied any help by his mother. Enter MARY VETSERA from the back. She goes up to him, they talk, seem to reach a conclusion, and hug. Enter LA MORT and the ANGELS. La Mort stands to the side of the stage looking at the pair, perplexed, and the angels go up to them, trying to pull them apart and embrace them. Rudolf and Mary are angry at this and push/shrug them away. As Rudolf and Mary embrace each other again, La Mort steps forward and hugs himself, prompting the angels to try to pull Rudolf and Mary apart once more. They again shrug them off. The angels helplessly turn to look at La Mort; Rudolf and Mary kiss, and then, Rudolf pulls out a gun. Immediately, La Mort makes a quick, sweeping gesture; the angels rush in to take away the gun. They pass it to each other, drawn into a sort of dance with Rudolf chasing them; but eventually Mary, standing in the middle of it all, manages to catch the gun and passes it to Rudolf. She calmly turns to face the audience, and Rudolf shoots her in the head.
As Rudolf lifts the gun to his own temple, La Mort SPRINTS. He takes off running towards him in full speed, hair and coattails flapping, perhaps in a last-ditch effort to intervene; but he's too late, and can only catch Rudolf in his arms as he falls, dead. He hugs Rudolf tightly against his chest, looking at him in disbelief; as the angels move in to clothe Rudolf and Mary in the veils of the dead (seen in the prologue), La Mort reaches forward to caress Rudolf's face, but Rudolf turns away from him and walks offstage, followed by Mary. La Mort is left standing there, his hand still outstretched, before he slowly lowers it and follows them (and the angels follow him).
Motives & The Extent of La Mort's Powers?
It feels like La Mort doesn't control when a person dies. He can only take them when worldly circumstances cause their life to end, whether it be an act of violence or something like old age. He actively tries to stop Mayerling from taking place, but because Rudolf's desperation is so deep, he fails - and seems genuinely mournful about it. He tried to encourage Rudolf to take action and make the world a better place, for Rudolf's sake as well as the sake of others, and in the end, that encouragement unintentionally was what led to Rudolf's premature death.
Emotionally: Elisabeth (2)
In Totenklage, La Mort is quite cold and even angry with Elisabeth. Still no violence or aggression: he's just quite unsympathetic to her lamenting. With the choices made in this production, I would be drawn to interpret this as it being because of what happened to Rudolf, though I could be wrong.
After she's stabbed, there's no more ill will between them: like is his duty, La Mort comforts her as she dies, and at the end, she jumps up into his arms and he carries her off towards the back of the stage: then, as he turns and sort of presents her to the audience, she goes limp. This is an interesting contrast considering that Rudolf and Mary walked off the stage on their own feet, wearing the Veils of the Dead (visible in the prologue). Elisabeth gets no veil.
In Conclusion
OH MY GOD LA MORT SPRINTS TO CATCH RUDOLF BEFOR EHE FALLS OH MY GOD OH MY FUCKGIN G
also the director confirmed la mort is panromantic and asexual
also did you know the makeup artist in charge of la mort's makeup was LITERALLY THIS PRODUCTION'S LUCHENI and his eye makeup looks amazing i want to wear it every day

minos and sisyphus cuddling...? (looks at you with my wet eyes)
this is likely a drawing req but i really want to just Talk aboht these two fat old men SO
I think when they cuddle, under the assumption sisyphus feels safe aswell, they are CLOOOSE. minos insists they be completely intertwined and its not like sisyphus minds.
minos laying on sisyphus:) ( the more common option ): He absolutely looves sisyphus' scent and smell and how he doesnt quite Stink but he smells of sweat and hard work. Not something minos is very familiar w so he Adores it. buries his nose into sisys neck an collarbones(Think itd tickle a lil bit aswell so he can get a chuckle out of his sunbeam.) Mimos loooves loves to be handsy and feel up through sisyphus hairy hairy scarred body and shower him in kisses. Occasionally a makeout but sisyphus isnt quite as into them. sisyphus holds him as warm as he can and likes to run his fingers thru minos hair.
sisypus on Mimos(the rarer option as sisyphus on minos feels like hes layinf on a remote): Lots of nuzzling w his face i think..likes to tease minos and ramble bc he knows mimos Loves the rumble of his quiet voice.. rare as well, i think sisyphus is a man of few words. mildly handsy, likes to squeeze minos'love handles bc it always gets an AH! out of him. Plants kisses eeeveveveverywhere. everywhere. if hes not sleepy yet hes gonna be giving kissies.. returns the neck favor by leaving sloppy kisses around there and it makes minos Melt. Minos would play with sisyphjs locs and fondle his shoulderblades as hes busy with his neck

I'm personally not a fan of when people say or act like 'OMG this reboot/new adaptation reuined (insert piece of media here). Like I will never say, the Netflix live action last Airbender ruined the cartoon as they're too separate shows and people can still easily watch the cartoon as is whenever they want. It's literally on Netflix or available through other means.
I hated Fate the Winx Saga as an adaptation, but you will NEVER catch me saying it ruined or tarnished Winx Club for me or anyone. I'll just choose to continue watching the original cartoon and reading the comics (and consuming the plethora of wonderful written FANFICTION of course lol).
A bad adaptation is not the end of the world.

I have so many thoughts! Part 1 because I’ll have to get back to this later. More under the cut because spoilers~
Okay time for another rambling thought on this series!
I feel like this may be an unpopular opinion, but honestly Rose ‘growing up’ and realizing how fucked the system is, and wanting to not be part of it anymore? I actually really like that. In the books she’s opposed to the younger kids becoming guardians and would fight for that, but making a choice as strong as actually walking away from it? She doesn’t do that until in the books something else happens that is slightly more extreme and closer to home. I’m just going like hell yeah Rose, leave those fuckers, build your own life.
That being said, Mason in the books did sort of rub me wrong, you know sometimes just a bit too “I am a nice guy why won’t Rose sleep with meeee”
Mason in the series? Slightly those vibes but what a sweetheart, taking care of Rose, being worried for her. Bless him, can we keep him please.
Okay watching and typing now. Kieron Moore, the acting your face does, my oh my. He looks miserable in that church, exhausted, bone tired, grasping at straws as not only the rug, but his entire belief system has been yanked from underneath him. And somehow Tatiana says the one right thing for him in this case. He wants to keep believing, even though Rose’s existence has basically disproven everything he stands for, built his life on. That’s really fucking difficult. I wouldn’t sleep well either Dimka.
That being said, hooking up with Miss Vogel? Stupid. Just really fucking stupid. Also though, the symbolism? Committing himself to the very embodiment of the current system? Yeah, almost subtle storytelling ;). He’s trying to make himself want this, to forget about Rose-erm I mean freedom, the possibility of a better life.
Speaking of acting, Sisi Stringer, the things you do with YOUR face. The HEARTBREAK. UGH. I feel Rose’s anger, desperation, pain. It was so well done. And then the fight. Listen, I am all for the angst in my ships. Bring it on, make them suffer before it gets better. But the fight? The FIGHT?! I mean obviously there were the really uncomfortable hunger games vibes, with the clowns, really emphasizing that this is a glorified gladiator match. Real people being made to suffer for the entertainment of the higher class.
So already wildly uncomfortable with the setting, but then they start fighting and yeah, I’m cheering on Rose. Tell him how you feel darling, make him listen! Only… only then, Dimitri’s not fighting back. He doesn’t want to hurt her, it’s the last thing he ever wanted. And in the one moment he does react, he stands there, frozen, horrified, because- because he’s just like him after all, he’s no better than his father, using the system they are a part of as an excuse to hurt those around him. He opens himself up to the kick, he saw her coming from miles away, but couldn’t convince himself to defend or block it. Couldn’t convince himself that he didn’t deserve everything Rose was giving him.
And Rose, Rose is just begging for a reaction. Anything, to show that the man she fell in love with is there, strong, determined, capable Dimitri. Not this shell of a man who hides behind cowardly words like duty and expectation and refuses to even talk to her. If he was going to give up what they had together for his life as a Guardian, he better show he's convinced, ges committed. If he's choosing this other life, this existence of oppression over her, he better actually want it, and prove that he does. Because Rose is used to people not choosing her, not even her mother chose her after all, but to not be chosen, in favour of something as harmful and reductive as the life of a dhampirs only committed to this apparent duty that is turning out to be nothing more than a historic marketing trick to normalise systemic oppression? That's insult to injury.
And the whole set-up was uncomfortable at the start, but when Rose kept going, kept hitting Dimitri, begging for any kind of reaction, and him just staying down and taking it? That really hit home for me, because it was just terrible, agonizing, hurt. Here we see what happens when oppressive systems are at their full effect, playing out disadvantaged parties against each other. It shows us how, if we’re not careful, rather than destroy the system that is causing us pain, we may end up destroying one another instead.

More rambling thoughts are a one shot idea for tomorrow.
Music conservatory stuff -
Rudolf and Tod aren’t actually sleeping together but their relationship is so close that many people assume they are. But to be clear - their relationship is absolutely extremely inappropriate and very much along those incredibly personal lines - the sex just hasn’t happened. All the other problematic behavior is there.
I could see the potential for a suspicious death on someone who was looking into the relationship where everyone assumes Rudolf somehow arranged it because of his dad and start avoiding him more, which just pushes him farther into Tod’s arms (the actual perpetrator lol).
Tod takes Rudolf on a ‘field trip’ to play a very particular organ - the one Tod has in his realm.
Maybe ending with a pomegranate situation - Tod doesn’t want Rudolf to leave after he graduates? Or maybe with an attempted pomegranate that Rudolf sees through and runs away from - with Death then patiently waiting until Rudolf dies either by his own hand or of old age.
Tod still has all his paperwork as Death - keeping the angels to their assignments. Tod and Rudolf regularly sit together in Tod’s office where Rudolf is grading for Tod’s music theory 1 class that he was forced to teach while Tod is doing Todesengel paperwork.
Gondrecourt was Rudolf’s violin teacher. Grandma Sophie was one of Rudolf’s piano teacher (there were parts of teaching that she considered beneath her) and she died when he was 10 or so? (historically she died when he was ~14).
-----------------------------------------------------
One shot idea - Sisi having dreams about Tod getting his claws into Rudolf but ignoring it as trickery/torment until she comes back and dark-haired little Rudolf is now blonde and very Tod-influenced. Because of the shock (and her wanting to keep her freedom), she rejects helping him and events play out as they do in the musical except she has a final dream of Tod standing over a dead Rudolf. (Or maybe the last dream should be Tod convincing Rudolf that the biggest statement he can make is with his death or something like that).
Something kind of similar will happen in mirrorverse so I’m taking some pains to make this different.

Oopps I got carried away, if you don't want to do all of them just choose two or three at random 😊
Hiiii! :)
No worries :)
A: Darklina
C: To stay on brand: Malina.
N: Err, I don't really have one. It's like asking for your favorite book.
O: Okay, let my shuffled playlist decide... Bwhahaha, okay, the first song that came on is "Der Guten Tag Hop-Clop" from The Producers XD Yeah, that doesn't remind me of any OTP XD Skipping, skipping, skipping... Okay, it's not gonna work XD So I'm gonna say "Hogyha kell egy tánc" ("If I want to dance"). It's a song from the musical Elisabeth, about the life of Sisi, the empress of Austria. The musical itself is rather... gothic. It's narrated by Sisi's murderer, and there is a love triangle amongst Sisi, her husband Franz Josef, and... Death. Death is in love with Sisi and follows her through life. This song is a duet between the two of them, where Sisi reasserts her newfound independence and power ("If I want to dance/I'll choose my partner"), while Death encourages her and kinda reminds her that it's due to him. And yeah, once again, staying on brand: Darklina XD
X: Rogue/Gambit, Skye/Grant Ward, Zuko/Katara
Z: Um, fan related? So I translated The Prison Healer not so long ago, which is a YA fantasy, and I had my reservations at first, but it turned out to be pretty good. Really good. Good enough that I wanted to see what happens next right away. See, it's a trilogy, and I could get my hands on the second book, no problem, but the third book came out in Australia two weeks ago (the athor is Australian), and yesterday in the US/UK, but I haven't been able to get it yet, and it's driving me mad, because I'm at like 90% into book 2, and I don't want to finish it until I have the third book. But, at the same time, before The Prison Healer, I translated Anthiny Ryan's The Pariah, which is medieval fantasy, and that was sooo good as well. And the second book in that series is coming out on the 30th, but I did manage to snatch an ARC from Netgalley, and I'm about halfway through, but... I'm not feeling it as much as the first book? In the first book the landscape, the situation, the power balance everything kept changing (the protagonist went from outlaw to prisoner to scribe to soldier), but this second book just has a lot of sieges. And the author is I think is a historian, and he really knows his stuff when it comes to medieval warfare and whatnot, but I'm itching for the characters to have an actual conversation instead of fighting all the time.

If I had to pick a favorite of your OCs (which is not easy, because they're all amazing!!) I think I would go with either Kit or Varsha!! Kit is just so amazing and interesting as a character, and I adore their relationship with Face, and when it comes to Varsha I just love how much research you've put into her and her story, not to mention her being an absolute badass!!
(Honorable mentions go to Charlie and Iris of course, as well as Sisi, because we cannot forget about them. <3)
Hope you're doing well, Evie!! 🩷
Hiiiii, Dolly! <3
I'm so glad you like my babies. Especially the more obscure ones! Hope to have a lot more rambling sessions with you :)
