So I've decided to make a point. I know hundreds of writers on here have been trying to bring this to the attention of audiences, but it doesn't seem to be getting through. So I'm gonna try. These are the likes, comments, and reblog ratios on some of my fics.

I don't get as many notes as some authors do on here for most of my work, but you can see how out of 447 people that it's underwhelming to receive no comments.

Even on my more popular fanfictions, the comments and reblogs don't even compare to the amount of likes on a post.

And here is a fact that might startle some of you;

Likes mean nothing. They mean nothing on any social media app, and at the end of the day, they mean even less here. Writers want kudos, comments, ideas, and constructive criticism. Writers want your thoughts on the work you just read. Even if it's just a simple red heart emoji or a keyboard smash, that tells us so much and gives us inspiration to write similar content for you and others to enjoy. Reblogs are even more important than comments and most definitely likes. Reblogs allow our work to reach different sides and circles of tumblr. If it's on your mutuals dash because you reblogged it, then more people will see it, read it, and hopefully enjoy it. Reblogs matter, because writers are pouring their heart, soul, pussys, and dicks into these fics and are brave enough to post them. For free. You get to read these fics for free. And the least you can do is drop a comment.

Reblog a fic to your blog if you loved it. Even better, Reblog with tags or write your comments with the reblog. We see all of it, and it makes our day. Please, you're wondering why writers for your favorite fandoms are dwindling here. It's because there is no support. If you support your favorite writers, artists, gifmakers, etcetera, then we might just stick around and continue making free content for you all.

remember that episode where reid and prentiss went undercover to this religious farm thing posing as two social workers? after a news broadcast, the leader realized that one of them was an fbi agent and questioned them, pointing a gun at reid, ready to shoot him. and emily admitted to being the fbi agent. and, sure, it was always very significant, but it became so much more so when the lauren reynolds storyline was revealed. because it showed us that emily was not only an agent—she was, first and foremost, a spy. she lived a whole life undercover. she could’ve easily talked her way out of the leader’s suspicions, and she would have if it wasn’t for reid & her desire to keep him safe and unharmed.

when emily was being beaten later and kept repeating “i can take it” all over again, the BAU team should’ve known emily didn’t become a profiler after a desk job. she was already a fighter, and she was already a spy long before she transferred to the BAU.

Oh right, what was it that I said about talking about SRMTHFG more?

So! I decided to watch the Japanese dub. Rather than start at the beginning like any normal person would, I went with Ghosts of Shuggazoom! Pretty late in the show, but personally one of my favorite episodes.

I’ll leave my thoughts under the cut if you’re interested.

First and foremost, Jinmay’s VA sold me A LOT MORE on how bad the situation was compared to her English VA. I can’t really judge how well a VA did their job since I myself am not a professional in the field, but honestly? Considering how long Jinmay was alone on Shuggazoom dealing with the Wraiths, I could definitely feel her desperation here. In her distress call, when she’s explaining what’s going on to the team—everything, really!

Second, I’m not sure how to feel about Valeena’s Japanese voice? Not in a bad way! I like the classic shoujo villain vibes her VA is giving me, but compared to her English voice? I’m not sure. And on that note, does anybody know who Valeena’s Japanese VA is? So far I’ve got nothing from Google, and I’m not sure if she just went uncredited…

Out of all the Japanese VAs, the only one I even vaguely recognized was Chiro’s, and that was from the random episode or two I caught of Pokémon in the original dub. As for the monkeys, I honestly couldn’t tell you who was talking if I watched the show blindfolded, though I think it’s just a matter of getting used to them.

I guess not a lot of thoughts so far since it’s only been one episode and I admit I was a bit eager to put my thoughts out there, and it’s one that I’m particularly familiar with, but uh, what do you all think?

emily prentiss is my new roman empire, in particular the lauren reynolds storyline. because in the episodes acclimating to doyle’s comeback, paget portrayed emily’s fear and paranoia SO WELL. and this storyline is just!!!! the way everything about emily clicks into place, all those little clues scattered throughout the seasons that suddenly add up to this One Big Thing. i would’ve honestly watched an entire episode just made of flashbacks from emily’s life as lauren, as well as an episode of emily settling in paris & trying to deal with the trauma.
