yanderes who poison their darlings. not enough to kill, not even enough to notice: just enough to make you sick. they love you so much, they're so OBSESSED with you... but they also hate you. you're so independent, so stoic, so resistant when they try to get you to love them; to rely on them and submit to them. so, they decide to make you *weak.* they just wanna see you all pathetic and needy soooo bad, begging for them to take care of you </3 which of course, they will delight in.

just a few drops of this in your food and you'll be out of commission for the next week, and they'll have you all to themself <3

it works perfectly when a yandere likes you for your stubbornness, for the bite in your words—it's who you are. but sometimes, it gets too much.

dazai for instance, as someone so desperate for you to reciprocate his affection and love, would hate how standoffish you can be. it was cute the first few weeks, but now, he just wants a moment where you're compliant and unable to stop him from coddling you and spending every waking moment by your side. it's not all that unusual to you, either, dazai has always been excited and happy to nurse you when you're sick, and this is just another one of those situations. sure, there's no real cause for your sudden bouts of weakness, but you're too tired to think about it too much, and dazai keeps you pretty occupied.

fyodor generally doesn't want you to be so rude and curt with him. he's doing you a favor, by protecting you from the ugly world, and now, he's helping you stay home and not risk your life outside with all those ability users running around. this also helps him hide his doa-related crimes from you if he wants since you're constantly bedridden and unable to do anything else. it is a funny thought to see fyodor caring for someone when he's already so sickly, but he comes in to check on you every few hours and he may even tell you that your weak state is a result of mingling too much with ability users (apart from him, since he's only using his to carry out god's will). you don't have to believe it, and you probably won't believe it now, but when it comes to the point that you're constantly ill and exhausted of how sick you are, you're willing to do anything to stop it. of course you know it's fyodor; you'd be a fool not to know, but if pretending that you agree with him stops him from poisoning you so often, you'll take it.

jouno resorts to this as a worst-case scenario. he doesn't want to hurt you, but you just don't listen! regardless of whether it's a civilian/villain/hunting dog darling, he only uses this if you really refuse to heed his warnings. jouno knows all about the dangers you're exposing yourself to on a daily by leaving his side, and since you won't take care of yourself, you leave him no choice. i think the poisoning thing is also a way for him to keep a handle on you. since all the hunting dogs are tied to the military by the monthly checkups that kill them otherwise, jouno decides to use a similar tactic on you. unlike the other yanderes here, jouno would make it clear he poisoned you. he even tells you that only he has the antidote, and if you want it, well...you'll just have to convince him that you deserve it, no? i can see him upping the dose for when you're particularly getting on his nerves, and so on ^-^

it makes things easier because you can't blame them for keeping you in either, since they're not stopping you themselves, right? even if you're convinced it's the yandere who's at fault, causing you harm, you have no evidence. they're exceptionally good at hiding it, (especially since we're talking about dazai/fyodor/jouno).

Dazai has been leaving hints… at least he hoped they were ones, as it seemed you didn't realize what he’s been doing for the past months. The brunette came to accept his feelings for you a long time ago, even if it took even longer to realize them and accept that he actually feels… romantic love for once.

He knows you like him, and he’s happy! But why can't you realize the feelings are mutual? It’s frustrating to no end.

“My dear Belladonna!” Was the only thing you heard before Dazai literally threw himself at you, and the only reason why you're not on the floor right now is because he has already done this so many times, that you’re used to how you should put your foot down to not go crashing to the floor. The few first times of him doing this were… quite painful for your back.

“Dazai?” A sigh came from you, already considering if the decision you made this morning to actually come to work instead of calling in sick was a good idea. You just had a feeling something was gonna happen but didn't know if it would be a good or bad thing, and you’re someone who trusts their guts most of the time. “What is it this time?”

“I have something to confess!” The brunette was visibly happy about something, but with how close you were to him with Dazai clinging onto you, you were pretty sure you saw something else flash in his eyes, nervousness perhaps? No, it’s Dazai after all, why would he be nervous?

“Oh no-”

““Oh no”?!“ An offended gasp came from the bandaged man. “What do you mean by that ‘Bella?!”

“The last time you decided to confess something it ended up in a week-long discussion on the topic. I don’t want a repeat of that” You rolled your eyes playfully. Around a month earlier Dazai commented on something specific that ended up with the whole agency having a discussion about it for a whole week. You are pretty sure your co-workers argued even on missions.

“... Alright that’s fair” Came the answer before the weight of the man on you disappeared, yet his arms still remained around you.

“Anyway, about the thing I want to say. It’s important.” The tone he used quite shocked you, it’s not often you hear Dazai being serious.

The taller man thinks the opportunity is quite good. There’s no one in the office as it’s quite late and they went home and he wasn't sure if he could pull off a romantic place without raising suspicion on what he was about to do. You stayed behind to sort some paperwork and he? Well, he just had to stay! Can’t let his beautiful belladonna be alone, could he?

“I’m listening” You were serious as well. You thought that it was maybe work-related, or something similar with how serious he was acting. Maybe another organization is coming to Yokohama again? God, you hope they won’t be like the guild if so. They were really annoying. if not, maybe-

“I like you” Stopped your thoughts. What did you just hear?

“Wait what?”

“I like you, like like you”

It was impossible, Dazai the womanizer™ as Kunikida called him once, the guy who flirts with all women he deems he wants to flirt with he flirted less and less since he realized his feeling for you but you did not really realize that sadly, your crush for some goddamn reason, really, who let you like him that way? Said that he has feelings for you. That your feelings are mutual but it isn’t possible that he actually likes you back… right?

…You hoped the slight blush coming onto your cheeks was unnoticeable.

“Dazai-” There was a short break in your sentence, you trying to grasp your thoughts “-what are you on about? I think I told you to not joke about such stuff”

It isn’t possible he likes you. He didn't show any hints! At least you don't think so. You started to think of anything you possibly can but you couldn’t really see any actions made by him that would signal that he even has feelings for anyone. You aren’t that oblivious as to not notice your crush likes you back right?

“I’m not joking [Name]” The fact that the brunette not only was saying all this in a serious voice but the fact that he also used your name?! He absolutely never does that, the last time he used your name was maybe a few months back, you were starting to think he simply forgot your name so he went for nicknames instead.

“Dazai it isn’t funny you-”

“-I’m not joking [Name]. I’m completely serious” There he goes using your name again. You don’t get it. There’s no possibility of this not being a joke, after all, there’s no way that Dazai Osamu likes you. Really, only if you knew you were in a straight-up denial.

“How can you expect me to believe that?” Your voice came out weaker than you had wanted, but you don’t think about it for too long, not when you need answers.

“How am I supposed to not be serious when it’s you that I think about all the time? When I picture you whenever something reminds me of you, whether it’s something someone said or a place we were at together before. I don’t think you noticed ‘bella, but I barely flirt with women anymore, even the waitress downstairs. Hell, I’m still doing it only to distract myself from the very possible rejection from you”

Dazai knows that even he can’t be 100% sure that you will say yes. As much as he knows his feelings are not one-sided, he also knows you may still reject him for multiple reasons.

And you? Speechless would be the perfect description of your face right now. Everything about the bandaged man in front of you is screaming genuineness, absolutely no jokes.

You don’t know what really got you to believe that he’s saying the truth, whether it’s the look in his eyes, the tone of his voice, his words themselves, or his body language, but something did.

“You really do like me back?”

“Yeah… Yes I do”

The gentle look on his face simply broke you. He seemed so… happy, at the fact that you realized he’s serious. Dazai knew that there was a possibility of you not believing his words, he fully understands because of the way he acts on a daily basis.

“...’bella I know you know what I want to hear” Came a surprisingly quiet response from the brunette, and you indeed knew. Do you accept his confession or reject it? He seemed to really want to know, and you felt like you would break the man beyond repair if you said no. Your answer was quite obvious to you, you didn't even need to think about it before you smiled gently and chuckled at his nervousness of being rejected, he looked like a high school boy confessing his feeling for the first time in his life in your eyes.

“And we both know that my answer is a positive one”

To only say that some sort of weight was gone from Dazai’s shoulders would be an understatement of the century.

It would also be an understatement of the century to say that he wanted to be away from you, and hey, who’s gonna stop him from being clingy to you? Because it’s for sure not gonna be you.

Theory on Fyodor's ability: Crime and Punishment

With the latest chapter, I can sort of imagine like 30 theories about what Fyodor's deal could be. Honestly, there are so many hints scattered way back from Untold Origins until now about the large-scale world-building of Bungou Stray dogs that we can imagine all sorts of possibilities for a person like Fyodor. I'll attempt to entertain one of them (this is not my only theory). In my opinion, it is clear he has a power that allows him to "endure" for long periods in one shape or another. That could be resurrection, reincarnation, regeneration, life force related power..- I guess the easiest way to describe it is an ability that helps him stick around. Right now Fyodor appears immortal, but I want to theorize on different aspects of what we know about him. These are key elements I want to focus on for my theory - they helped me narrow down certain options. I feel like the solution to the puzzle is figuring out how one ability can allow him to kill people and remain alive for long periods of time. 1. Fyodor's health, lifespan, and care for personal security: From what we've been able to gather, it seems Fyodor was alive in the 15th century, based on certain references from the latest chapter. However, there is an interesting aspect to his character: He cares very little for his physical safety - he gets intentionally captured all the time. We know this to be true from the time he got caught by PM, and there are theories he also ended up in Mersault partially because he wanted to be there. Within the latest chapter, he appears to have been captured by Bram's people on purpose once more. Furthermore, he tells Ace that he is prepared and "trained" to endure starvation.

This isn't the only time he gets in harm's way - arguably the entirety of Dead Apple was him putting himself at risk. Even so, while he MAY be immortal, and he puts himself in danger of losing his life, he is very sensitive about his health. In one databook, he mentions that his number 1 weakness is specifically his weak, sickly constitution. It seems getting ill is so upsetting to him that even if he survives a difficult endeavor like getting drowned, it's something he "isn't able to afford". Fyodor mentions this when he tries to drown Sigma and Dazai. He is anemic and hates getting sick/needs to be very careful about his health, every cover is drawn to show his dark circles and pale skin, Fyodor even admires good complexions on other people because his isn't that great according to databooks. This is a huge part of his character, and whenever we see additional material about Fyodor, there is 50% chance it's about his health issues (even for DA side material, the joke was he can't do much on weekends because his doctor told him to be careful about his blood pressure, according to one bit). What could this tell us about him? Fyodor constantly complains about getting ill: if he can regenerate ultra fast, this typically wouldn't be a problem. He says getting sick would be "intolerable for him". Ultimately, in a logical setting, an immune system largely allows a person to "regenerate" and many sickly people have a reduced capacity of doing this. Fyodor being able to regenerate super fast doesn't make a ton of sense. It is perhaps possible that Fyodor can regenerate large chunks of damage, but then his body enters a state of "suspension" which is why he's sickly - however, this doesn't fully track with the rest of what his abilities can do. I believe the biggest issue with Crime and Punishment is figuring out how the same ability that can kill others also allows him to live a long life (assuming this is all one ability). To continue examining this aspect of Fyodor, the wounds on his hand from his tick of finger biting don't seem to regenerate any faster than regular?

Harukawa is not overly consistent with any of this, just like most mangaka, and we don't see Fyodor biting his hands much later down the line, but there are a couple of times when it seems she's drawing him with wounds and scars on his arm.

I can remember like 2-3 other panels that show a lot of mini-scars, but manga artists tend to not be consistent with this level of detail. Hands are hard to draw af.

2. Bleeding I am pretty sure Fyodor's ability has to do with blood. I always theorized that he murders people by sacrificing some of his own blood, leading him to be anemic - there is very specific bleeding imagery whenever he kills people, and they usually die from bleeding out. I thought that was his "punishment" for committing a crime.

How would this work into immortality? In Christianity, life is heavily related to blood. You'll hear phrases like "Blood of the covenant", "blood of a lamb", and "sacrificial blood". Every person he kills "bleeds" out, yet he is anemic? Seems too random for it to be unrelated. So, what do we know? 1) He was alive in one way or shape in the 15th century, those are his memories, implying he, as a soul, has existed for over 600 years. He is long-lived. 2) Fyodor appears to be relatively unconcerned with dying, but appears to be worried about getting sick? 3) Fyodor himself says that being ill is his biggest weakness. It's canon he is anemic, and his health never gets better. 4) His scar from getting slashed by Bram healed since then, since there is no scar right now.

5) The wounds on his fingers don't heal super fast, meaning he likely doesn't have hyper regeneration. Being so sickly implies he doesn't have pure regeneration as well (from a logical point of view, but I suppose in a fictional setting it could make sense depending on how sensitive Asagiri is to detail). If he had regeneration, even to a baseline of his regular sickly self, he wouldn't say getting sick was "intolerable" for him, in my opinion. Fyodor isn't dramatic to complain about shit that doesn't get to him - he's alright with starvation and getting beaten. This sounds like he's afraid of more permanent damage (as an immune-compromised person, I can relate) If he got much sicker, he'd return to his old self eventually if he could regenerate, and he wouldn't have to worry that much. It is more likely he has something like complete resurrection from a state of being dead, rather than being able to regenerate over time. That follows what we already know. 6) His ability is connected to blood - making others bleed, and he himself being anemic. Blood in Christianity is associated with life. Does he have some form of life force manipulation? How does all of this come together? He is old af - meaning there is something up there. How could the above connect with immortality? A super sickly immortal? Why is he so sickly if he could regenerate? How would the same power that helps him live long also help him kill people?

I think it's possible that whatever he does with his abilities wears him out, and he has to change to another body eventually. Possibilities: 1) Killing people makes him sacrifice blood, so he gets sicker, until he dies. 2) Whenever he dies, it takes him a while to come back, so he can't afford to get sick and miss out on plans. However, if he has to die, it's still not a big deal if the reward is worth it, especially since he can come back, and others cannot. 3) Purely dying and reviving is easier than just switching to another body from sickly decay. The guy seems to panic more about getting sick than getting killed. Meaning he possibly has "periods" between resurrection/reincarnation/reviving. Perhaps he needs to die to revive into full health.

I guess it's possible that Fyodor's ability is related to life force itself? But how does that relate to the Crime and Punishment aspect?

Right now, I'd like to theorize that Fyodor's ability is essentially to "possess" people like a demon. Stay with me here. I'll try to explain what I mean by this: Fyodor can "possess" bodies. If he possesses them the right way, he takes over them and "rewrites them" to become him, including the physical appearance, which is why he looks the same throughout centuries. If he possesses them "wrongly", they die. The "crime/sin" is taking the body of another person - this is a profound violation in many religious teachings. "Possession" is a sin. Being able to possess bodies is one of the main trademarks of a Demon, which is how Fyodor is always nicknamed. Before he dies, he can change bodies.

I guess the easiest theory for me to imagine is that Fyodor is just a consciousness at this point, and he needs to "possess" bodies to keep living. Every single body he possesses occasionally wears down (this is the "punishment" part of his power), and he needs to keep finding new ones to keep living. Killing people wears down his current body even faster. Every time Fyodor "possesses" a new person he completely returns to his "baseline" form, and that is why he has no "old" scars from the 15th century. I assume finding a good body to possess may be more difficult, so that is why he avoids wearing down the current body with his power. Perhaps he starts killing his current host to possess another? And that is why he starts losing blood, making him anemic. The trick is that he doesn't finish the process. The reason Sigma was "brought into the world" was for Fyodor to have another "clean" body to possess. Asagiri even mentioned that Sigma was created in relation to specifically Fyodor's color pattern. Additionally, Asagiri told us to pay attention to "Chekhov's gun" cliffhangers, and this is one of the elements of the story we never got a resolution for - why was Sigma brought into this world, and why was he specifically made in relation to Fyodor's character? Having a body created by the Book, as a clean slate, may be perfect for Fyodor. Perhaps he cannot fully recover anymore from his broken health, even when he "reforms" after possessing someone, and that is why getting sick is worse for him than death - every time he "possesses someone" and takes their body, his body recovers less and less. Now, I want to elaborate on this. Why did Crime and Punishment not attack Fyodor in the mist? I guess one possibility is that Fyodor is a sentient ability. An ability that keeps possessing people.

Fyodor's ability won't attack him, because it is the consciousness controlling the body. "Crime and Punishment are close acquaintances, the borders between us vanish"

His fake speech to Sigma might be based on "half-truths" I have a theory that Fyodor's power ultimately synthesized with his real personality and became one indistinguishable whole. "The borders between us vanish" could possibly be a reference of the border between him and his power disappearing and leaving him corrupted. In my opinion, this would also explain why Fyodor wants to get rid of abilities - he wants to remove this curse from himself. While the ability may have conjoined with the real Fyodor, it still may be lost in how to act, and the real him continues being the root of all his desires. Dostoevsky's character was based on a chapter from Brother Karamazov where Vanya talks with the Devil - I feel like this is a huge hint to his character and the possible "possessive" part of his ability. Did human Fyodor summon a devil and had it become his power? Are abilities demons? Honestly, there are so many ways to interpret what we're seeing in BSD at the moment. I find it interesting that Fyodor wanted to see Bram and his "evil"

I think Fyodor may be fascinated with the existence of "good" and "evil" as equals - and is possibly fascinated by why "someone like him" exists. Why would God create an ultimately "evil" ability? And what about others who were born with evil powers such as Bram? They are just like Fyodor, which is why he relates to him. I feel like there is a lot of discussion to be had about the possible origins of abilities - the religious imagery, decay of angel themes, Nephilim theories, but I will leave this for another post. Also, I could write pages about Fyodor's ability, backstory and how it may be influencing his world view. I sort of have two theories in my head: Fyodor is a demon, or Fyodor is a human who was influenced by his "demonic" ability. I wrote this in a rush, so it's not well thought out at all, just a bunch of rambling, so thanks for reading again <333

Uhh if by any chance you know Tokyo revengers could you do Reader as Emma Sano? Dazai as Draken and Ranpo as Mikey like the scenario takes place during the prison arc and the vampire thingy and during that time Reader died the same way Emma Sano died and she was killed by Fukuchi in order to weaken the ADA and Dazai was informed by Ango about her death , you know just some good ol angst ehehehehe. Atsushi and Y/N were on the way escaping Fukuchi, Akutagawa helped them escape, but on a cost of what? His life.

Everything was spinning and going to fast. They merely escaped the attacks by Fukuchi. Y/N couldn't help out much except for the fact she didn't contribute much of defense and combat skills.

She was didn't own any ability, just like her brother Ranpo, who was too denial to say he didn't own one too.

They were running through the forest with Poe's book in hand which had her brother trapped.

This was going to much for her, she wanted to live normally for god sake.

It happened so fast.

One moment she was beside Atsushi running away, and the next moment her body lied on the ground beside where Atsushi stood.

She was injured by Fukuchi's sword.

It came ripping through the thin air, and before either of those two could react, the sword pierced through her body and Y/N could react nothing but cough blood as she fell down in the pool of blood that was hers.

Ranpo didn't know what to say

He came out of the book solving the mystery to see his sister, lying on the ground as Atsushi stood still. He caught the light of the sword that reflected in his eyes, knowing damn well what had happened. He dropped on his knees as his body weakened to see his sister's body on the ground.

"Atsushi What happened...?"

"I AM SORRY RANPO-SAN THE SWORD JUS-JUST CAME THROUG-GH AND-D"

"ATSUSHI PICK HER UP WE NEED TO REACH YOSANO......DONT WORRY Y/N"

Ranpo was beyond angry.

Y/N seemed to gain conciseness when they reached near the base, and Ranpo was relieved a little, but his happiness didn't seemed to last long as she took her last breathe almost saying 'take care' right at the entrance, smiling.

Silence.

That was what could they all hear. Eyes diluting, tears streaming down as a silence scream escaped Ranpo, as he stared at his sister, who's soul completely slipped her body, which now was dropped on the ground, where Atsushi regained his human form.

" Tell me this a sick joke you pull Y/N, You know Dazai Loves you back right? Y/N-" Ranpo said, his voice cracking as he spoke.

"Y/N please, wake up you wanted to start a family right? With Dazai, and you even thought so far on picking the colours of the walls for your kid, Please Y/N, you cant throw away all of this you cant-" Ranpo's voice cracked, as he held his sister's body in denial.

Atsushi could only place a hand on ranpo's shoulder as a sign of comfort, unsure of the next motive of either parties.

Ango, Who watched the scene unfold, didn't say much but still shed a tear, knowing well he had to be professional in the battlefield.

Now the problem for Ango was, to convey this message to Dazai.

As the usual time passed, Ango sat once again to decode and code the messages between him and Dazai

Sending the coded Message to Dazai, Ango could only hope that this doesn't change the direction of the war.

Dazai didn't know how to react.

Y/N L/N was dead. The Y/N who he spent time with, who actually cared for him other than his late friend Odasaku , and The Y/N who he never confessed his love to.

"Say Dazai, didn't you hear it yet?" Fyodor smiled, who sat across him in another cube smiling wickedly seeing his enemy in denial.

"If this didn't exist, I would have made sure you didn't see another day" Dazai announced as his head slowly raised up and you could see the maniac beast he held close rise up, little by little just like it had when he made his first kill.

"I will make sure you pay the prize of this act Fyodor Dostoevsky, she will be the last soul sacrificed for this battle."

I have brought to you headcanons for Chuuya, Atsushi, and Dazai!

WARNING: These headcanons are about eating disorders and unhealthy relationships with food in general. I am not a professional and have not had any ED's myself, so these headcanons are based solely off of my research and conversations I've had with loved ones who have experienced them. Please seek professional help if you struggle with any eating disorders and proceed with caution.

1. Atsushi has Binge Eating Disorder. Since the orphanage restricted his food so much, he eats uncontrollably a lot and tends to starve himself a bit in between binges. Kyouka knows and tries to help Atsushi, but I don't actually think a lot of the ada members know. Atsushi hides it well and Kyouka respects Atsushis wishes to keep it under wraps. Dazai probably thinks something is up but isn't sure, and Ranpo probably knows about it, but neither say anything to avoid making Atsushi uncomfortable or nervous. Atsushi doesn't really eat in front of people either. The only exception is snacking when he gets super bad hunger panes (I'm talking not going days with eating little to nothing, usually that happens because of mission). Even then he will only binge or really eat in general until he's alone.

2. Chuuya used to have ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder). Because of him living in the slums until he was 15, he got used to ignoring hunger panes and limiting how much he was eating because of a lack of food, so when he was accepted into the Port Mafia, he brought those habits with him, and would only eat a certain amount at specific times, usually when he was alone. He probably only ate certain foods like bread, canned products, mostly things that wouldn't expire or would provide a lot of energy without eating much. Koyou, Dazai, and the Flags all helped him work through it so he doesn't have it by the time Canon rolls around and is careful about maintaining a good relationship with food for their sakes. Koyou also checks in on him whenever they meet up.

3. Not really ED related and I've seen this one a lot, but Dazai has days where he has a food aversion because of his depression. The thought of or seeing food makes him sick, or sometimes it's just days where he doesn't feel hungry at all. The days range from being able to eat if its his canned crab, to only drinking a glass or two of whiskey if anything (I imagine that whiskey is a kind of comfort drink to him because of the days where he drank at bar lupin with oda and ango), to refusing to eat and drink anything, whether it's his safe/comfort food or drink or not. Kunikida knows this and it's the main reason he checks in on Dazai to see if he's eaten. I don't think Kunikida is entirely aware of his safe food and drink, though, so if it's one of those days, Kunikida will just take a lot of time gently urging Dazai to eat something. Ranpo also probably knows about it and will sometimes throw a piece of candy Dazais way on those days. The combined efforts usually convince Dazai to eat a bit of canned crab, though it's always alone. Chuuya also knows and will get on Dazai about not eating. He'll also prep some canned crab and keeps a bottle of whiskey at his place just in case. Sure they're not healthy at all but it's better than nothing. The food aversion days were more frequent and worse back when he was still in the PM, and he's gotten better with them now. Though they do still happen every now and then of course.

ok don't think he'll die, stay dead, whatever, but the angst that comes from Dazai dying or them believing Dazai is dead? so there's a big battle, somehow they stop the vampirism, maybe they all team up to get the sword out of Bram, whatever. Either way the vampirism is cured and, somehow, the Decay of Angels have been defeated. And then, just when they think it's over, just when they think they've won, Fyodor manages to send them a message that Dazai is dead. By this point Chuuya has been cured but Fyodor doesn't really unddrstand their bond and assumes he'll be fine you know, they hate each other anyway, right? Chuuya would probably be happy the person using him is dead. Instead, a part of Chuuya breaks. First of all, he can never use Corruption again. Second of all, one of the first people to actually see him as a human is dead, he killed him. Honestly, i imagine Chuuya would spiral a little after this, start to wonder if Dazai was wrong, if he truly was just a monster. He did kill his own partner, how could he not be a monster after that? Eventually, someone manages to drive home the whole this isn't your fault you were under someone's control thing, but by this point Chuuuya is so sick of losing and giving up control of his body. Also, i do think Arahabaki would be pissed as well, because someone who was, in his own way, caring for his vessel is now gone and now he can't come out because it's simply not safe for his vessel.

Sigma starts to feel like a failure, like he let him down. He already doesn't have much self-esteem or self-worth but this just makes it worse.

The ADA loses one of their members, possibly for the first time? like i don't think they've dealt with a member dying but i could be wrong and probably am. Kunikida loses his partner, Atsushi loses his mentor and father/older brother figure, Ranpo loses someone who understood him and his intelligence, and Kyouka loses the person who helped her join the ADA. He doesn't take as much of a mentorship role with her as he did Atsushi and Akutagawa, but he did encourage her to destroy the Moby Dick which got her in the ADA and made her believe her past didn't have to define whether she could be good and live in the light. Honestly i need more of that shit, them bonding over being in both worlds and Dazai basically being like hey if they accept me with all the crimes i committed they'll accept you too. On a similar note, Autagawa finding out Dazai is dead, his mentor, the person he looks up to the most, the one who took him in, gave him a home in the port mafia. I'm not saying he was necessarily a good mentor to Akutagawa, I also don't think he's the worst, did he really do anything that any other Mafia leader wouldn't do if you went against his orders? I wouldn't say so. but i do think he'd be heartbroken, just as much as Atsushi if not more so. Ango being the first to know he's dead even before Fyodor tells anyone. Also this isn't related, but i wonder if Dazai managed to send some sort of message to Ango before he was shot or whatever? maybe whatever crazy contingency plan he has? i feel like that would make sense

Hurriedly, you wiped the tears from your bleary eyes, glancing over at the clock. It's glaring red numbers - not made any softer by the single lamp you had on - read 3:42 and you groaned into your hands. The words on the page in front of you blurred together, both because of your exhaustion and how much you had cried. Your coffee was cold, having failed to lend you any energy hours ago, and you froze as you heard the floor by your bedroom door creak. No matter how bad it was, you couldn't let Osamu see you this way. Sweet, cocky, charming Osamu Dazai who never had to try. Dazai who was practically a genius, who sometimes forgot what day it was but never failed to ace all of his classes without the sleepless nights you had to put in.

Honestly, you couldn't understand what he saw in you. Compared to him, anything you did seemed small; if he ever really tried, he could probably cure cancer. And you loved him. But it was nights like these that you doubted every time he ever said he loved you. Why would you? You couldn't hold a candle to him. What were you doing? Studying endlessly for an exam to pass a class to earn a degree that would let you work forever. The thought made you even sadder.

Now you were so blind to anything but the notes in front of you you didn't notice your boyfriend, rubbing sleep from his eyes and brushing his dark hair from his still glittering eyes (how he managed to always look so awake you would never know, the man had a worse sleep schedule than anyone you'd ever met) as he pulled up a chair beside you.

"You know, if this was me, love, you would be scolding me to get to bed and 'get some sleep for once in your life.'"

You jumped, hiding your face in your hands. "The hell are you doing here?"

"Well I was terribly thirsty and imagine my surprise when I find you here of all places."

"No Dazai," you sighed. "I mean why are you here? Compared to you I look like a failure- anything I can do, you can do better with your eyes closed and your hands tied behind your back. So why are you here instead of with any of the other genius girls in this place?"

Dazai blinked. His eyebrow lifted, a questioning look making his lips turn up. "Love, you know how our professors always say there are no stupid questions? That was probably the exception."

"But I don't stand a chance against you! I'm not as impressive or-"

"Y/n listen!" Dazai looked exasperated, rubbing his eyes as he gathered himself. "What's so wonderful about you is how you always put everything you have into the things you do. You're right, you aren't like me; you're better and that's why. You have to care about the things you do, because your passion decides the outcome. And one can not be apathetically brilliant. Remember that."

You smiled, laughing through a sob as you felt his arms close around you, leaning into his chest and breathing him deep. "Now please," he sighed, "can we please go back to sleep?"

Fyodor grumpily turned over, eyes assaulted by the glow of your laptop.

"My love it is four in the damn morning, respectfully, what could you possibly be doing?"

Before he could see, you released your lip from between your teeth, blinking away your tears and steadying your shaky voice before you said a thing.

"Nothing, don't worry. Just go back to sleep."

There was a slim chance he'd believe you; you loved how smart he was, but now you were hoping to heaven and hell that he wouldn't take a second look. If he did, he would see the raw skin of your upper lip where you pulled it off, the streaks of dry tears making lines of your skin glow just a bit brighter. He would have seen the heavy way your eyelids begged to close, the dark shadows beneath them bringing light to your exhaustion.

Of course he saw it all. He sat up beside you, closing your computer and looked you in the eye. His eyes were made for the dark; staring through you even now.

"You're the one always preaching to everyone else how important it is to care for oneself hm?" He held your chin gently, forcing you to look at him. "I should hope you haven't forgotten your own words?"

"You're one to talk," you muttered. "You've never had to try at all. I hardly think you're in the position to lecture me."

To your surprise, he laughed; the sound was low in his throat and soothing in the heat of the dark.

"Perhaps my love, but you're not in the right either. We both know this won't help you."

"Better than doing nothing."

In a second, he had your body pressed into his own. He rolled you away from your laptop, switching your positions on the bed while keeping his arms around you.

"Do not dismiss your well being so easily, dorogaya. What magic takes place when you sleep." He drew a finger down your nose, making you giggle in spite of yourself. "I watch as the night takes your weary bones and crafts them new for the day. I watch you become new each night, washed clean in a midnight sea as your mind creates stories for you to call kingdoms."

"Poetic bastard," you grinned, as you sank into him with each slow exhale. You could feel your spine release when his hands slipped beneath your shirt, his palms warm on your skin.

"The day waits for you; it will come. Do not rush it. Enjoy the night with me."

A/N: Hello! Since Im far ahead of my school work I can officially balance my writing and private life! Thank you for requesting! I hope it is to your liking! I love writing about Chuuya, especially when it comes to his ability, its one of my favourites.

I warn ahead that there might be spoilers from Stormbringer! If you haven't read it (or honestly doesn't care about getting spoiled) then be aware of it!

Chuuya Nakahara:

His first thoughts will be fear, not the fear that you would outdid him when it comes to his ability, no not that at all

He's scared you went through the exact same progress he did when he got his.

Let's face two scenarios here, when he finds out you just have gravity controlling ability, exactly like him but without the corruption, I think he would let out a breath he didn't knew he was holding.

However if he does find out you went through everything exactly like him? He would hug you close, kiss a few times onto of your head If he can reach it- and would help you get through the healing progress with him, feeling sad you went through it, but also somewhere back into his mind a little relieved that someone could relate to him with this somehow, how sick and twisted that may sound.

He would train you too if you asked him too! He wants to help his love out whenever he can, so he would gladly take you under his wing when it comes to training! (Maybe every now and then some praise and a rewarding kiss ☺️)

Cute dates jumping over buildings and playing catch, Change my mf mind

He will always be worried about you getting hurt, but very less since he knows how capable you are.

You guys once land onto of the port mafia building, hold a little picnic there, and watching the sunset while he offers you his coat, since it was beginning to get a bit colder

He would absolute not let you meet Dazai, under any circumstances, he wants to keep his clean record of not killing someone in front of you but Dazai will make that record a bloody one-

If you are how ever, somehow friends with Dazai, he will protest with a few pouts and scoldings here and there, but he wouldn't want to control your actions, so as long as you promise not to leave him, He could Try to live with it

Who knows maybe you'll be the reason they'll interact a little bit more with each other

Chuuya is still cautious though, but seeing you smile will make it worth it

Kouyou and Mori’s relationship is so interesting actually. Like, he killed the man who was presumably her abuser, and now she’s his right hand man. And I think there are so many interesting implications there. Does she think of him as some sort of savior? Is he just the better of two evils? I personally think she’s fond of him, because she does act like she’s fond of him. I wonder how much she knows about the old boss’s death. Because if Hirotsu knows Mori killed him and was just going along with because it was best for the organization, I’m sure the girl who the old boss was personally invested in enough to murder someone to keep her there but not her would know. But real question is does Mori know she knows? I wonder if she had any involvement in it or if she was secretly cheering it on from the sidelines. Or maybe she did care for the old boss and that’s why she relates her relationship with him to her relationship with Kyouka. Perhaps he was a parental figure to her.

It’s also really interesting when you add Dazai into the mix. I wonder when exactly they met. I have three potential answers here, because they already knew each other by the time Chuuya joined the mafia, and even Hirotsu had just met him at that point. Dazai and the old boss seemed familiar with each other, so either Mori had him in that room enough times that they kind of got to know each other, or Dazai was allowed in that room so freely because they already knew each other. So, 1. Kouyou met Dazai pre-Mori through the boss, 2. She met him after he met Mori when she went to go visit the old boss while he was sick, 3. She met him through Mori after he took over the position. All three of these are really interesting to me. Because if she him before Mori, like that’s a lot of history and potentially shared trauma, if she met him after Mori but before the boss died there’s probably some weird tension, if she met him after the boss’s death that means she was one of the few people Mori trusted enough to let close to Dazai.

(I wonder when she became an executive? I forgot if she was one already in stormbringer or not, but I’d like to think she was. She was 18 when she met Mori, so it’s possible the old boss made her an exec, because that’s still two years older than Dazai was when he became the youngest one ever, but I feel like it’s more likely that Mori took a liking to her and promoted her.)

I can just imagine all three of them sitting in that room knowing that man was about to die and knowing that each other know, but all pretending they didn’t. Oh god, imagine the funeral. In fifteen it’s mentioned that Mori threw an elaborate funeral for old boss, and the sheer potential for drama there. Just everyone dancing around the subject. The drama, the secrecy, the mafia politics. If I could write, I’d write that fic.

Also the drama of Mori, Dazai, Kouyou, and Hirotsu being the only characters who remember the mafia before Mori? So interesting. Because the turnover rate in the mafia seems to be fucking insane, so it is possible that only a few members from the old days are still alive. Probably more than those four, but those are the only four who are prominent characters, so… intrigue. Kind of an implied bond, don’t you think?

Of Skyfall, Sigma, Ian Fleming & James Bond

A personal theory add-on for Skelechuuchuu’s incredible Ian Fleming theory. Please read and give love and support to that original theory here if you have the time!

Hello everyone! At the time of posting this, I’m extremely sick and kinda sleep-deprived right now, so I will probably not be terribly active until I feel better. :’)

Nevertheless, after having a small chat (with a lot of breaks in between :’)) with some cool people in a BSD server, I still wanted to come and drop this little add-on to the recent (and extremely compelling) theory that dropped about Sigma being Ian Fleming (and James Bond-inspired).

As I tend to do best, I wanted to analyze and explain why Skyfall is not only a perfect and crucial choice for the episode name in S4 as OP describes above due to the inseverable tie to James Bond, but also how the lyrics to the tie-in Bond song by this name themselves relate perfectly to Sigma and the events of BSD involving him so far.

I’ll place it below the cut for both S4 spoilers and manga spoilers up to Chapter 106-107 or so! Proceed with caution if you’re worried about spoilers!

Now, without further ado, let’s get to lyric analyzing!

Before we get into the nitty-gritty of analyzing the song lyric by lyric, allow me to start with a more generalized observation:

The overarching theme of the song Skyfall, apart from being obviously intrinsically linked to Bond (given it was made for it), is about bravely facing down the end with those you love, come what may; this is a perfect fit for Sigma, whose whole character is wrapped up in the concept of needing to belong and protect those he loves. In the episode of the same name, he even fights, despite knowing he is “just an ordinary man”, with his whole life to protect his beloved people in the Casino, unafraid of dying because living without them would be meaningless.

(I would also like to note here that at first glance, it might seem to be written almost like a love song, but I feel it’s important to distinguish — especially in the context of this theory — that this is not necessarily the case, and there is one line that upon listening to it, especially seems to almost completely confirm otherwise to me; in the song, it sounds like Adele is saying “all your loving arms”, despite many lyric sites and such claiming otherwise (it is really not uncommon for artists to differ from the original written lyrics from time to time in certain recordings, so I find this rather plausible). Nevertheless, whether or not this is actually correct, the song is ambiguous enough that it can still be taken however one wishes, and I believe that if we apply it to Sigma, the song is not directed towards one person, but towards a group of them.)

I’ll get on to the more intricate stuff of analyzing lyric by lyric in a moment, but before I do I would just like to make one little key statement here before we start, and that is that despite how it seems, I don’t actually believe most of this song was meant to be applied to the casino or the people there; rather, I believe it largely reflects and is about his feelings towards Dazai, Atsushi, and the ADA as a whole. (Again, I’ll explain this more in a bit, but…there is one particular set of lyrics that truly sets this up for me: “Skyfall is where we start”; obviously, Sigma has had his casino and known the people in it for awhile, from his perspective, but do you know who he does meet in the episode Skyfall, and first starts to find some small measure of hope/consolation in? Atsushi. The ADA.)

Okay, with that in mind, now let’s on to the main bit!

This is the end Hold your breath and count to ten

In the most recent chapters, Dazai and Sigma are trapped underwater, and literally have to hold their breath to survive. As he runs out of air, Sigma is counting the moments until he can resurface, but fears it may not happen because Dazai seems determined to stop him (for good reason, it turns out)

Feel the Earth move and then Hear my heart burst again

Being with Dazai and having hope of joining the ADA has shifted Sigma’s world around him, changing his worldview and making his heart explode with genuine hope at all of the kind deeds they’ve performed for him — especially when he realizes Dazai is not trying to kill him by keeping him underwater but protect him.

For this is the end I've drowned and dreamt this moment

As they’re staying under the water and near out of air to share, Sigma almost fully accepts his fate, thinking to himself that he may die this way, but at least he was able to dream of a beautiful life for once in those few precious moments he shared with the ADA.

So overdue, I owe them

Sigma has waited a long time to have a place to permanently belong and feel loved and cared for, and he feels indebted to the Agency for all they’ve done for him — all their acts of kindness.

Swept away, I'm stolen

When Dazai was given a chance to pick something to take with him in Mersault, he stole Sigma from the DOA completely, and this action also sweeps Sigma away with surprise, hope, and gratitude inside.

Let the sky fall When it crumbles We will stand tall Face it all together

This one is probably pretty self-explanatory; Sigma isn’t afraid of death, as long as he stands with the ADA in hope of a good life, though this attitude also perfectly fits his attitude towards the Casino in the Skyfall ep and how he stood with his people against the Hunting Dogs, unafraid to die for them.

Skyfall is where we start

I already went over this one a bit, but Skyfall is the ep where he and Atsushi (and by extension the ADA) meet for the first time; it’s his start with knowing the ADA — the time when he first experiences true hope that doesn’t involve him being used and discarded in the end.

A thousand miles and poles apart

I think this part is kinda metaphorical to how he at first thinks he and the ADA are on opposite sides, and that they care nothing for him besides forcing him to use his ability; in his eyes, they are worlds apart and he could never even get close to their world of light.

Where worlds collide and days are dark

Yet, in that moment of Atsu trying to save him, Sigma begins to feel they’re not so far apart, after all.

Their worlds collided in that brief moment, on one of his darkest days, and he felt grateful for that, even though he still felt his fate was sealed and that he had to let go of Atsu’s hand to prevent him from tumbling to his death with him.

You may have my number, you can take my name But you'll never have my heart

I believe this would be directed at everyone else whom had used and abused him up until this point, and, from his perspective, took his memory from him; they can take everything from him, own him, rob him of his true identity, etc., but he will never be one of them. He’ll never truly be a terrorist. His heart belongs in the light — with the ADA; he realizes that now.

Where you go, I go What you see, I see

As a member of the server we were in, Cloudii, pointed out, I think this could be a reference to how similar Sigma sees himself to Atsushi and vice versa, but I think it could also be a reference to his willingness to follow the ADA (both literally and metaphorically) and with the last line, his ability to gain knowledge of someone else’s knowledge (and thereby in a limited way experiences) through touch.

I know I'd never be me Without the security [Of] All your loving arms Keeping me from harm Put your hand in my hand And we'll stand

The lines about “put your hand in my hand, and we’ll stand” in particular strongly remind me of the moment when Atsu tries to save Sigma by holding his hand when he dangled off the casino, and reflects both Atsu’s desire to have him keep holding on and pull him to solid ground, and Sigma’s desire to stand by the ADA and repay them for kindness by using his ability for them right before what he believes will be his death.

That being said, I also think this whole set of lyrics above matches Sigma’s attitude towards the ADA and his determination to stand by them now in general, even in the most dire of times.

He knows that he’ll never get to be who he wants to be and live the life he wants to live, having a place of belonging, an identity, people who love him genuinely, if he doesn’t learn to put his faith in them and trust that they are different from the rest of those who had him before. The ADA seems to love and protect him and so he’ll do his best, ordinary as he feels he is, to stand by them, too, until his last breath — using his ability and whatever else he may have as necessary, as they face down the end of the world as they know it and those who would bring it about together.

IDEALS [kunikidazai]

Ideal No. 2

When Kunikida looks at me like that I almost think that maybe he could share even an ounce of my feelings and then I remember his ideals: a list of 13 cursed things keeping me from being anything he would ever desire. A list he sticks to diligently.

I walk past him, pick-pocketing his notebook yet again just to see the list one more time, to once again stare down the traits that separate me from the realm of polite society and tease myself until I feel like I’m going to puke because that’s the kind of pathetic loser I am.

I open the book while its owner briefs Atsushi on how to prep a file for sending to the Gifted Special Operations Division.

The List is on the fourth page of the book and I flip there immediately, knowing I only have so much time before Kunikida notices its absence.

The page reads:

The Ideal Woman:

Peaceful

Quiet and calm

Down-to-earth

Long hair

Confident and sure of themselves.

Polite with good manners

Likes to have long thoughtful, philosophical conversations

Cultural minded.

Love travelling

Interested in languages.

Shares at least one of my passions (cooking, art, architecture)

Just to cause myself more pain I make a counter list in my head, or rather bring up the one I make every time I stare at this wretched book.

I am:

Hyper

Loud and Obnoxious

Unfocused and so lost in my dark thoughts I forget that other people exist

(have) short mousy hair

Extremely insecure about myself and my place among other humans, hell I’m not even human, I lost all humanity before age 18, and if I am somehow still human then I’m rapidly losing my humanity. (I don’t mind but I know others do)

What are manners again?

(someone who) thinks life has no meaning so why bother debating it

(have) never been outside of Japan before (mafia work-related missions don’t count)

Capable of speaking many languages but they bring me no excitement

Not someone who has even bothered to know what Kunilida likes (because I’m so selfish)

Mentally ill

Trust? Never met them, but they sound nice.

I want to rip the page right out but I hold my fingers stiff, gripping the notebook so hard I imagine it crumbling under my touch, I feel my fingers going numb but I can’t lose my grip.

I keep mentally crushing the book even as Atsushi looks directly at me. He looks worried, “Hey, um, Kunikida-san.”

Kunikida looks up from the paperwork, I know I’m busted but I can’t make myself do anything. “Yes, Atsushi-kun?”

“Dazai-san has your notebook again.”

“Wha-” Kunikida feels his pocket and turns around to me, “You pilfering pest, return it at once.” His voice is calmer than it usually is when he scolds me and I notice that his hand is almost as stiff as mine, outstretched to me.

He doesn’t seem to question my motivations for taking the book or what I saw but of course, I just have to make a joke anyway, an ill-timed insult because I can never just leave anything as is.

“Your taste in women is truly depressing Kunikida, so regular, so boring, so average.” I can see him getting angry and I want to say “Far too average for someone like you.” but a nice polite wife is really what is perfect for him so instead I just say “Gosh, I can just imagine it now, your children are going to be doomed to mediocrity.” and continue to rifle through the pages aimlessly, not actually paying attention to their contents, after a second the book is ripped from my hands and Kunikida walks away.

I want to laugh because Kunikida is so far from mediocre that no matter how dull a woman he chooses his children are bound to be smart at the very least. (At the same time this thought, of Kunikida settling down with a woman, makes me want to cry, and I know its so fucking selfish that the thought of him happy makes me feel so sick but I can’t help it.)

I wait the entire rest of the day for the lecture but even after he’s done helping Atsushi he says nothing. It worries me

I want to come to work early but I can’t make myself, and when I stroll in at 10:00 Kunikida doesn’t even glare at me.

I should’ve expected this. I’ve always known he was going to get tired of my antics and cut me off entirely, as he should. This makes me, a selfish, toxic person, sick to my stomach. We’re going to have to talk at some point, and I wish I wasn’t such a fuckup so that we could all move on from our lives because I don’t think I can stand any more of this.

may or may not be writing a fic on this. i don't know one of them has dazai energy but chuuya character relations. i can't put them into words they make me as sick as skk does

can i just say that if you plan to watch it please prepare a box of tissues because as someone who doesn't cry even when my favourite character dies in a show, i cried really hard for this one it's not even funny i genuinely cried after i finished and cried in the shower and cried again while telling tille about it

Goblin anon back with my brain rot.

I am obsessed with the idea of eldritch horror Arahabaki. Like humans have attached the moniker of God to Arahabaki, but its an incomprehensible being to the human mind.

(Side note, I did some research into Arahabaki the IRL deity bc I'm a nerd, basically its a really obscure kami with very little information because its been lost to time, leaving us with like two or three shrines and a bunch of theories)

Like the idea of Chuuya, a human, sharing his body with this incomprehensible being is fascinating. The government tried to mess with something it didn’t understand (something it physically couldn't understand because Arahabaki is beyond understanding) and now Chuuya has to pay the price.

How does Chuuya live with the idea that he has an ancient unknowable entity living inside of him? Are there any other side effects of the coexistance besides Corruption? Under this line of thinking, I doubt an eldritch horror will be cowed by an ability, so why does it go back to sleep when Dazai uses his ability?

Can you tell I'm obsessed bc I am obsessed.

YEAH :0 there’s definitely a lot of almost lovecraftian(lol) horror potential for the singularities—also I am also a nerd and did similar (if brief) research into irl Arahabaki and it is really interesting to me that Asagiri took this almost forgotten deity and turned it into this cataclysmic force of destruction :0

Also agreed, it’s interesting how Dazai’s ability didn’t work on, say, Lovecraft, but it does still work on singularities. I guess it could be because the singularities technically originate from runaway abilities themselves, but there’s all the stuff with Verlaine talking about opening Chuuya’s gate, as well—I guess what’s interesting to me too is that Dazai nullifying corruption resets Chuuya’s control, it lets Chuuya go back to normal even after Dazai stops touching him. And I can’t remember if that was explained…?

(I need to reread the parts of storm bringer where they discuss the singularities alskdjfj I hope I’m not forgetting too many details—they went real in depth in some parts, it was so good)

Slightly related, at one point during the summer when I was sick I drew a weird thing that was kind of going in a horror direction with Arahabaki and Chuuya
