regina spektor is a violent zionist, but i don't think it's constructive or honest at all for people to be like "well her art was always bad anyway." some terrible people have made great art. This idea that artists with unsavory morals can't make good art (1) only feeds into some people's mindset that if they dislike something, that MUST mean there is something ideologically wrong with it, and (2) some people then take longer to realize the true colors of their favorite artists because... good artists can't be ethically bad right?? and so they hang on to their faves and pretend they are so righteous and defend their every move when sometimes. sometimes you just gotta accept that your favorite art was made by somebody you don't agree with, and you have to identify how much you are willing to support someone like that and what lines you have that can't be crossed

Good Omens S2 managed to do something no other show I've see ever do. Write S2 exactly like a fanfic.
Sapphic side characters with a coffee shop involved? Check.
Amnesia? Check.
Side popular ship that becomes canon despite the fact that nobody ever thought it actually would? Check.
Dancing ball scene? Check.
Mischievous match making by main ship? Check.
Character B pours their heart out to Character A and confesses their love and kisses them like there's no tomorrow? Check.
Character A confesses their love back?
Oh.

I think what cemented Good Omens as the ultimate fuck you to hate and bigotry was Crowley's "Not actually. Either." And I will NEVER get tired of talking about this line because this fucking line right here proved that everything Neil has said online and the actors have said in interviews about these characters in regards to queerness, has all been fucking true. And no, you don't need to say it out loud and make a big deal of it, but this line has permanently and majestically made this show true to its word, even though it would have been so much easier to play that game of are they aren't they. This line has saved me in so many ways, and I don't think I'm the only one affected by it like this.
