Remember when the Bad Batch first aired in TCW and people were complaining about the lack of depth of the characters, specially Wrecker, saying that he's just the stereotype of the typical character who likes destruction and that was their only reason to claim TBB was going to be an awful show?
And then TBB is released, and they showed us how Wrecker is has the emotional intelligence in the group, and how he's capable of being a caring, sweet, fun person, who's excellent with children because he genuinely loves them (and they love him back), and who isn't afraid to vocalize his emotions and who is also capable of being an almost unstoppable killing machine when he got his chip activated, being able to fight the entire group and defeat them like they were nothing AND recognize his actions were wrong and apologize for them even if he had no control over them.
This is why you give time for series to show you character depth and development.

robpat really does nail that whole "ok the plot may still haven't gotten through my skull yet, not entirely, BUT BY GOD I WILL PLAY THIS DEVOTED HUSBAND PART TO PERFECTION FROM START TO FINISH" vibe lmaoo thank you rob for your service.
also it's just really lovely to see that his chemistry with john david are off the charts behind the scenes too, they just work so well together and so comfortable with each other <3
we really owe him a lot, he gave us his best heart eyes and i truly appreciate it 😂 like you said in your post, he really understood the assignment, i love how he really brings neil alive and makes him feel like such a caring person. And working perfectly with jdw's badass with warm heart.
Without their performances being so full of heart, the whole movie would probably feel somewhat cold. The premise is very grand-scale, there is a huge threat and some large concepts, but the characters make it feel human.

THANK YOU for giving orange boi his due. Giorno may seem like the "mature" counterpart to Narancia's goofiness, but those two have so much in common underneath and I truly believe that they respected and cared for each other. They're coping with very similar pain in superficially different ways. And when people don't take Narancia seriously because of how he looks, even though he's street-smart and ferocious and compassionate in his own ways... rrrrgh. Giorno himself would be appalled by the double standard. Give Narancia some respect, people
You are quite welcome, I will always attempt to do my muses justice, but Narancia and Sun I feel are especially let down by their respective fandoms. Not that Narancia isn't BELOVED by the fandom, because he is, but he doesn't get enough credit when the fandom tends to focus so much on his quirks and idiosyncrasies instead of his character as a whole.
In my opinion, I never saw Narancia as immature or childish, I always saw him as just a young guy with a free spirit and a little bit of difficulty paying attention to details. (Malnutrition during important developmental periods has an effect on cognitive abilities, so that's kind of important to note). But what I see when I look at Narancia's character is a brave, loyal, honest, dedicated, intelligent fighter!
And when he combines his skills with Giorno, they make an unstoppable team! They're both batshit insane in combat, willing to do absolutely crazy things to come out on top (burn down entire streets, cut their arm off on a broken window, cut their own tongue out, ENCOURAGE the other to cut their own tongue out...) and I LIVE for their interactions!
Something else I find annoying is how much people focus on Narancia being a "little brother" figure, when he's realistically a big brother. His relationship with Giorno is so special because Giorno RESPECTS him and never puts him down or tells him to do things differently or to tone himself down. He always does and always has accepted him for exactly how he is while, in contrast, Fugo keeps telling him he needs to do better. Which, to Fugo's credit, he does mostly out of concern for Nara's wellbeing.
Two examples of Giorno admiring Narancia's way of doing things instead of having that mentality of berating or joking:
LOOK HOW HAPPY NARANCIA LOOKS ABOUT THAT!!!
And then, of course, Giorno actually putting what everyone REALLY thinks into words.
And then after the Squalo and Tiziano fight, Narancia runs to Giorno, yelling his name and desperately searching for his breathing and he says to himself: "I know Abbacchio would never want to admit this, but it was your decision making that pulled us through this whole mess. I don't even know where we would be without you. There might actually be some hope for us yet, with you by our side."
Because Narancia respects Giorno in return and cares very hard for him, as we can clearly see from hos panicked he was during this entire fight. He fought like a savage to save his little brother.
In short: THIS RELATIONSHIP IS HIGH QUALITY AND I LOVE THEM AND THIS IS TOP TIER JOBRO SHIT!!!
