Vanish Pt. 1 here
Tumblr media
A moment of silence passed.
Riri stood frozen in place, shocked at her own words, knowing she didn’t mean them.
Shuri sobbed on her knees, silently pleading for Bast to not take another person out of her life.
Hell, even Griot was quiet, not announcing your departure as he was programmed to do.
“What are you waiting for?” Shuri stood and approached Riri so quickly, the smaller girl flinched. “Why are you standing here? Go after her!”
“Shuri, I-”
“Go get her!” The Queen growled, voice cracking as she begged.
Riri’s mouth opened and closed, her brain working double time for anything to say. “She-I didn’t-”
Her responses weren’t quick enough to extinguish Shuri’s anger. The Black Panther lifted Riri’s entire workstation in one hand and threw the table and all its contents.
Iron Heart ducked, praying the impact of the desk wouldn’t take her head off. It didn't; it hadn’t even hit her, instead crashing to the wall mere inches away from her body.
“Shuri, what the fu-”
But Shuri was already on her way out of the lab, ignoring Riri and shouting orders, “Griot!”
“Yes, My Queen?”
“Do I have any visuals on y/n’s location?”
“No, My Queen. Queen Y/n has abandoned her kimoyo bracelet here in the lab.”
“What about her earrings?”
“Left behind in your bedroom, Queen Shuri.”
“FUCK,” the explicit echoed in the lab, causing Riri to retreat into herself.
“Griot, summon Nakia, Okoye, Ayo, and Aneka. I need all hands for this mission. Tell them to meet me in the throne room.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
“Wait,” Riri called out, grimacing at how small her voice suddenly sounded. “What can I do?”
The doors to the lab’s entrance parted, letting Shuri leave without so much as opening her mouth to address Riri. The only sound then was that of dainty metal coming in contact with the steel floors.
Riri approached the door slowly to investigate what Shuri had left behind.
It was her wedding band.
“What is this about, My Queen?” Okoye asked, being the first to enter the throne room. Ayo and Aneka followed closely behind, their spears drawn at an unknown attacker.
Nakia was absent.
Shuri’s eyes were still puddled with tears and the anger radiating from her produced a heat the other girls could feel as soon as they approached.
Aneka looked down at Shuri’s hand, eyes searching for the wedding ring that never left it. Of course, it wasn’t there.
“Y/n is gone. We need to bring her back.”
“Gone?” Okoye mimicked. “Gone where? Who has taken her? What are we up against?”
“Sh-she left. She left us. Left behind her beads, even the earrings and her-”
“Her wedding band…” Aneka finished. “But, where is yours?”
Shuri looked down at her bare finger, unable to speak.
“My Queen,” Okoye started gently. “With all due respect, you are asking me to convene my army and explain to them our threat… Are your relationship issues?”
The Queen rose from her throne, so slowly, it gave Okoye ample time to retract her words; her steps shaking the mostly empty room.
“I am asking you to convene your army, General,” the words came out hot, burning Okoye to the core, even causing the couple standing behind her to wince.
“To ensure the safety and safe return of your Queen.”
“Shuri, she took her band off,” Okoye was a brave soul, not backing down.
“She is still your Queen! Regardless of the ring she wears. Mine is off, does that not make me your Queen, Okoye?”
“It’s not the same, Princess, and you know-”
“Queen.” Shuri’s thin body is shaking with the rage that fills it. She looks away from Okoye, even past Ayo to her friend Aneka.
“Aneka, you will lead this mission. General,” the word comes off her tongue like a tease, knowing she’s driving a spear through Okoye’s heart. “Fall back.”
The General’s eyes are wide but she nods at the command. Aneka steps forward, poised tall, and in stance. “Yes, My Queen.”
She offers a small smile to the royal, a sad, knowing one, but Shuri doesn’t return it. “Find y/n. I don’t care what it takes; resources, money, you have it all. Ensure she is safe. Br-” her voice finally breaks and the tears descend her cheeks. “Bring her home to me.”
“My Queen,” Ayo offers slowly. “What-what if she does not wish to return?”
Shuri’s chest retracts, all the air leaving her body. She hadn’t considered that; you not wanting to come home, not to Riri, nor even to her.
“I said bring her home.”
The command came out in a whisper, the Queen no longer being able to talk at a volume above that.
The Wakandan warriors brought their arms across their chest and back down, saluting their Queen before leaving the room. Only Aneka lingered.
When it was just the two of them, she rushed to Shuri, pulling her into a hug she clearly needed. “What happened?”
Shuri’s sobs swept her feet from under her and she fell to the floor, still arm-in-arm with her friend.
“She left us, Aneka. Sh-she left me.”
“Why?”
Shame rushed through the royal’s veins. “We-” she paused a beat, deciding herself unable to speak on Riri’s behalf. “I,” she corrected. “I haven’t been very supportive lately. I broke many promises. I let my work in the lab and with Riri take precedence and she felt forgotten… I even forgot her birthday…”
Aneka gasped “My Queen…”
Shuri nodded. “I’d been distracted. I let that get in the way, and now she’s gone.”
Aneka took Shuri’s left, ringless hand in her own. “That explains why she left her ring behind, but my Shuri, where is yours?”
A sinful scoff left Shuri’s lips “Probably still in the lab with Ri-Miss Williams, where I left it.”
“Miss Williams? Shuri, my dear friend, what is going on?”
Shuri is silent.
Aneka sighs “So when we bring y/n home, My Queen, will she be returning to you and Miss Williams?”
“No,” Shuri stands, tapping her necklace twice and allowing the Black Panther mask to swallow her face. “Just me.”
It’s been weeks.
Three weeks since the search for you began.
Shuri stormed into the lab, mask retracting as she entered.
“Queen Shuri has arrived.”
Riri’s head shot up from her new workstation; she hadn’t seen Shuri in days. She rarely came home anymore, spending days and nights looking for you and coming up short each time.
“Griot!” the agitated queen bellowed.
“Yes, My Queen?”
“Have we any updates via satellite? Has y/n been seen anywhere?”
“Unfortunately not, My Queen.”
Shuri’s shoulders slumped, weighing heavy with another defeat. “What about Nakia?”
“I’m afraid not, My Queen.”
“Bast!” Shuri allowed herself a second to rest her head in her hands before starting to mask up again.
“Wait!” Riri called out, approaching the Queen. “Wait, Shuri, let me help. Please, I want to find her too; I wanna know she's safe just as bad as you do.”
The Black Panther’s posture stiffened, though she didn’t speak. Riri tried again “Y-You don’t have Nakia. You need an extra pair of hands. I can help.”
Shuri laughed, an evil-sounding chuckle coming from her. “I do not need your help.” She approached Riri. “I would not even be searching for her, had you been able to hold your stupid tongue, hm?”
Riri cringed at the words Shuri spoke but didn’t shy away. “I want to help. She’s just as much my wife as she is yours, and I miss her.”
Shuri shook her head, but never let her eyes leave Riri’s face. “She is not. She will not be. When she comes home, she will be coming home to me. Damned to you.”
That rocked Riri to her core. “Shuri, come on, you don’t mean that.”
“I mean it. I mean it in the same way you meant it when you called her the forgotten wife.”
The smaller girl grimaced when her words were thrown back at her. She had been thinking over those words for weeks; losing sleep over how she spoke to you.
Before she could utter another word, Shuri left, leaving Riri where she stood, but not before the Queen noticed something that tugged at her stoned heart, only slightly.
Riri was still wearing her wedding ring.
Two weeks since Nakia returned.
“Queen Shuri, you are being summoned to the throne room.”
Shuri lifted her head, not realizing she’d dozed off in the Talon Fighter while on patrol. “Summoned? By who?” The girl asked, rubbing sleep from her eyes.
“Nakia of The River Tribe,” Griot responded.
“Nakia? She is in the throne room? At the palace?”
“Yes, My Queen.”
“Griot, return me at once.”
“Yes, My Queen.”
Moments later, Shuri crashed through the doors to the sacred room. Nakia stood on the furthest side of the room, glancing sadly out the windows. The sight of her fueled the Queen’s anger. “Where the hell have you been?!”
The former spy didn’t even attempt a fake smile. “Hello to you too, sister,” she stated smoothly, turning to face the vexed royal.
“Where is she, Nakia?”
“She is safe. That is all you need to know; it is all that she requested I share with you.”
Shuri approached her brother’s lover with claws drawn. “Nakia, Bast help you, where is she?”
“Oy? Am I to tell you? Y/n came to me, crying, your majesty. She told me her wives wanted her no longer. Rejection from one partner hurts, can you imagine that from two partners?”
The Queen couldn’t speak; The warrior continued.
“I watched, as the two of you fell out of love with her. Prioritized each other over her. You didn’t even attend the school’s opening. We’d worked on that for years, Shuri. And her birthday?” she scoffed. “You were supposed to be better than that.”
Nakia closed the gap between her and Shuri, grabbing her claw-clad hands. “You must have forgotten. You’ve forgotten who you spent your childhood with. Who grew up alongside you,” she tapped Shuri’s temple as if to bring the memories to the forefront. “You seem to have trouble recalling who was there for you when Baba died. When T’Challa died. All before Miss Riri even came into the picture.”
Shuri’s head fell, shame a feeling she was all too familiar with these days. “I had forgotten. I am trying to fix it,” she whispered, recollections of the two of you flooding her. “But I can not fix it if I do not know where she is.”
Her eyes climbed to the smaller girl’s hopeful, begging, but when Nakia closed her lips tight and shook her head, Shuri’s anger reignited.
“Demethi wena (Damn you), Nakia!”
“Yehlisa umoya, sisi (Calm down, sister). Uzofika ekhaya xa sele elugile (She will come home when she is ready)-”
“Hayi, hayi (No, no)! Ndiyamdinga (I need her). Ndiyamdinga ekhaya ngoku (I need her home now)!”
“Uya kuba nethamsanqa ukuba angafika ekhaya (You will be lucky if she comes home at all)!”
Shuri spun, Nakia’s words recoiling against her. “Intoni (What)?”
When Nakia looks away, rather than speaking, Shuri marches toward her. “INTONI (WHAT)?!” she repeats.
She takes Nakia’s face in her hands, roughly. A line of scarlet flashes from Nakia’s cheek, where Shuri’s claw is digging, but neither girl moves. “Wena (You)-” the Queen croaks. “Wena undincedile ukumkanikazi wam ukuba andisindise (You have helped my queen escape me for good)?”
“Hayi, sisi (No, sister). Ndamncedisa wahmba ade alunge (I helped her leave until she is ready).”
Shuri extends her arm, throwing Nakia forcefully into the window. The thud of her sister’s body does nothing to calm her. Nakia is barely on her feet when Shuri speaks. “Hamba (Leave). Kwaye ungabuyi ade abuye umkam (And do not return until my wife does).”
The River Tribe Warrior is shocked. “Shuri, uthini (What are you saying)?”
The Queen’s lips curl around her next words. “ Elubhacweni (Exile).”
Nakia crumbles. “Sisi, ndiyacela (Sister, please). Likhaya lam eli (This is my home).”
“Was this your home when you missed my brother’s last days? His funeral? Was it your home when you hid my nephew from me for six years, the same way you hide my wife now?” Shuri questioned, switching tongues.
“Shuri, oko akufani (That is not the same)! It was my home when I saved you and your lover’s asses from Namor! When I risked my life, though I had a son to live for. It was my home when I laid there,” Nakia pointed to the now repaired spot on the throne room floor, the events of Queen Ramonda’s death no longer staining the place. “Resuscitating your wife! Trying to save umama (mama)!”
“Lishiye ibhotwe lam, Nakia (Leave my palace, Nakia).”
One week since Riri started her own search for you.
Shuri wasn’t speaking to her, ordering Okoye, Ayo, and Aneka to do the same. Riri’s communication was cut off, even Griot subjecting her to silence.
One night, she decided enough was enough. She hadn’t been able to sleep since you left and she was growing tired of being left in the dark.
If anyone needed to find you, it was Riri. She needed to be the one to locate you and retract her vile words. There wouldn’t be an apology great enough, but she sure would try.
So Iron Heart suited up and quietly left the palace. She didn’t bother removing her kimoyo beads, knowing Shuri was no longer keeping track of her. The realization stung, but it was well-deserved. She let her frustrations get to her and that Chicago attitude and pride presented themselves.
The words spilled from her big mouth before she had time to realize what she was saying. Riri was just as hurt as you were; feeling as though the love she and Shuri showed you were going unappreciated. Their time dedicated to the lab, their sleepless nights, and their repeat failures were just to keep you safe.
“C’mon baby, where’d you go?” Riri spoke lowly to no one, navigating the suit towards Haiti. It’d be a dumb place for you to hide; Shuri would have surely checked there already.
And of course, you weren’t there.
The following day, Riri searched the States. You had no reason to be in America, but that’s exactly why you’d seek refuge there. Again, her search came up short.
Today, Riri was ready to give up. She’d spent many days, many hours looking for you all alone. If Shuri and her team hadn’t found you yet, surely Riri wouldn’t all by her lonesome.
She sauntered through the village, sadness dragging in each of her steps. “Uxolo (Excuse us)!” children’s voices called as they ran across her path. Riri stopped short, avoiding running the tikes down. “Oh, um, sorry!” the girl spoke, understanding their simple word, yet still not knowing how to respond in their language.
One child, a young girl whose hair was adorned in barrettes, turned to give Riri a wave. When she skipped back to her group of friends, she spoke “Yiza, khawuleza (Come, hurry)! Utitshala Y/n ndiza kubuya namhlanje (Teacher Y/n is to return today).”
Riri understood not a single word from the girl’s sentence as they disappeared into your school. None except your name. So she followed.
“Uh, excuse me,” she called once she entered the building, searching desperately for an adult. “Uxolo (Excuse me)?”
“Hello, Your Majesty,” a tall gentleman spoke up, approaching the short royal.
Riri cringed, her royal title sounding foreign to her these days. “Mholweni (Hello), um, hi.”
“What can we do for you? We are very blessed to be acquainted with your presence, though we were not expecting you.”
“Yeah, um, I-” Riri stuttered, unable to form a sentence, the words scrambling around her mind too fast for her lips to keep up.
“My wife,” she finally choked out. “My wife, Y/n. Is she here?”
The older man’s eyes were saddened. “No, Your Majesty. She is not set to come back today.”
“Please,” Riri was close to tears as she begged. “Um, ndiyacela (please). I heard the children mention her name. I just-” The tears flowed. “I just want to know she’s safe.”
The man must’ve felt some pity for the lonely queen, crying in his hallway, pleading. A genuine chuckle released from his chest. “Your Xhosa is not very good.” His words shocked Riri and for the first time in weeks, she laughed a real, hearty laugh. “No, it’s not,” she sniffled.
“But you are trying.”
Her head bobs as she nods a confirmation to his words.
He sighs, grabbing Riri’s hands and pulling her out of reach of passing ears. “Your majesty, tonight the school is having an event. A banquet; to raise money for the Haiti institution. The Queen has promised her return for the event. She will be here then.”
More tears flow from the small girl’s pretty brown eyes. Her queen would be back, tonight.
Did Shuri know?
With a gentle squeeze, the fellow started to leave. “Wait,” Riri called. “Enkosi, mhlekazi (Thank you, sir). What is your name?”
“Emmanuel, Your Majesty.”
“Thank you, Emmanuel.”
Riri raced back to the palace on foot, too excited to wait for the Talon Fighter, though it would have been quicker. She sprinted into the throne room, hopeful that Shuri would be there.
She was, with Aneka. “Kufuneka sijonge iHaiti kwakhona (We need to check Haiti again).  Ndiyazi Nakia umfihle apho (I know Nakia is hiding her there).”
“I found her!” Riri interrupts.
Aneka turns to the girl first, then back to her queen, who refuses to look up. “Aneka, sishiye (Leave us). Enkosi, mhlobo (Thank you, friend).”
With a nod and a salute, Aneka leaves the throne room, leaving the two queens who haven’t spoken in days.
“Shuri, baby, I found her.”
“Where is she?” the panther asks, still not making eye contact.
“She’ll be here tonight,” Riri takes slow, careful steps to Shuri, unable to gauge her emotions and not wanting to set her off. “The school’s having a fundraiser. She’ll be here.”
Shuri glances at her wife “How do you know this?”
“I went to the school.”
With a bite of her lip and a swift nod, Shuri dismisses Riri. “Thank you for the information. You may leave.”
“Leave? Shuri, what the hell do you mean leave?”
A deep, impatient sigh is brought forth by the Queen. “I know you know what leave means.”
“Nah, to hell with that, Shuri! I’m not leaving. I’m the one who gave you the intel. Imma be there with you. I’m a part of this mission now. I should have been from the start.”
Shuri steps closer to Riri, seemingly to intimidate her, though the girl doesn’t appear scared. “A mission that would have never come to pass had you not said what you did.”
Riri’s heart thumps hard in her chest. “And I’m trying to make up for it, Shuri. How am I supposed to apologize if you keep shutting me out?”
The question is rhetorical; Ri keeps talking. “You not entirely innocent in this either. You broke promises too. Ignored her just as much as I did. You,” she stabs a finger into Shuri’s armorless chest. “Forgot her birthday too, princess. Your shit stink too, Shuri. So forget that shit; y/n is my wife. That’s my girl and I been missing her heavy. So I’m coming tonight.”
A smirk sneaks its way across Shuri’s face. “There you go with that mouth again.”
“Yeah, here I go with my mouth again, a mouth I don’t know how to close and a mouth that don’t know how to hold its tongue. That’s why y’all was supposed to do it for me.”
Shuri shakes her head, frizzy curls swaying across her face. A bright smile, her first in weeks stretches her lips. “Alright, let’s bring our girl home.”
The night comes quickly and as present as you’re trying to appear at your function, anxiety is running through you. Being home brings forth a mix of emotions; excitement for the banquet, and familiarity at the faces you’ve missed. And worry that somehow word of the event that you swore your staff to secrecy over hadn’t remained confidential during your absence.
Nakia was at your side, acting as both a friend and a bodyguard. “You did not have to come,” you spoke to her. “I didn’t need protection. The queens; they will not hurt me. Shuri will be more upset at your presence than mine.”
The small scar on her cheek marked evidence of Shuri’s anger in the passing weeks. You’d apologized repeatedly to your dear friend, but she didn’t blame you. “Your wife has a temper. She always has. I’ll be fine, she just needs some time to calm down.”
Her eyes move towards the entrance of the school as the doors part and Aneka, along with Ayo and Okoye precede your wives. “Speaking of the queens…”
Hayi, akukho ndlela imbi (No, no fucking way). When you turn, the breath escapes you. Shuri and Riri. The Black Panther and Iron Heart. Their eyes locked intensely on you.
You look around at your staff, wondering which one had loose lips. “Nakia,” Shuri greeted when they approached. Nakia stays silent and Shuri continues. “I owe you an apology, for our disagreement those weeks ago. I am sorry, sisi.” To you, she switches tongues as she asks “Ikumkani wam (My queen), singathetha (can we talk)?” with an outstretched hand.
No, your heart screams, but your movements betray you. Placing your palm in hers, you allow Her Majesty to guide you outside, where the Royal Talon Fighter awaits, with Riri in tow.
None of you speak until the ship’s doors were encapsulated, providing all the privacy in the world. When they did, it was you to break the silence. A loud slap echoed in everyone’s ears, your hand coming in contact with Riri’s cheek. Breathing hard, you voiced “I’ve been waiting to do that for weeks. Sorry, Riri, I didn’t find a bitch to give your wishes of luck to.”
Shuri stood, slightly amused until her cheek was the next to be assaulted. “And you. You’re lucky I’m not skilled with any weapons for the way you returned my Nakia to me. Her face bloody, her ribs broken. What the hell is wrong with you?”
Though her face stung, Riri’s ears perked up. “Your Nakia?”
Shuri stared at you, her brain wondering the same.
“Put your petty jealousy to rest. It has been three weeks, do the two of you really think so little of me to find another lover in that short time, especially one who is so close to you, Shuri? We’ve known Nakia since we were kids.”
Shuri nods, clearing her head, and starts to open her mouth, but Riri beats her to it. She comes at you fast, throwing her arms around you so tightly, it steals your breaths. “I’m sorry, ma. I’m so fucking sorry.” The tears are already spilling down her cheeks. “I don’t know how I could have said those things to you.”
You unwrap her hold on you. “You said them because you meant them.”
Riri’s head shakes furiously. “I didn’t, y/n, my love. I swear I didn’t.”
Her eyes are swimming with sincerity and it breaks the cement that had formed around your heart. You grab her face. “You swear?”
She leans into your touch. “I will spend the rest of my life showing you I didn’t mean it, ma.”
You nod slowly. “You know I owe you more than just a slap, right? For speaking to me like I’m some bitch on the streets and not your wife of four years?”
A tiny smile crosses Riri’s features. “Let me suit up and you can take all the shots you want at me.”
“Uh, uh. You don’t get the suit.”
Your words bring a laugh from the small girl, one that passes onto you.
Shuri stands back, hands in her pocket, just watching. She’s silently wiping her own tears, but when you finally look upon her, she takes it as an in.
“Yiza apha, usana (Come here, baby).”
You obey, releasing Riri from your hold as you glide over to your queen. She pulls you in by your waist, holding your body tightly against hers. “Uyakhumbula xa ndivuma iimvakalelo zam ngawe (Do you remember when I confessed my feelings for you)?”
Your head bobs. “We were children; only about 12 years old.”
“Ewe, kukanikazi wam (Yes, my queen). And what did you tell me?”
A giggle escapes you as you recall. “Nditshate, ukuba uyandithanda (Marry me if you love me).”
Shuri shares your laughter. “Ewe, nkosazana (Yes, princess). Bendikuxelele ukuba ndizakwenza kamsinya kangangoko ndinako (I told you I would as soon as I could).”
“Kwaye wenze (And you did).”
“Nda (I did).”
The tears in Shuri’s eyes threaten to spill over. “I made that promise to you at 12 years old, and I kept it. However, for some reason, at our grown age, I made promises to you weeks ago that I did not keep.”
Your head drops just as the tears do, unable to look your wife in her face. Shuri’s having none of that though, gently grabbing your chin and pulling your gazes back into unison.
“Uxolo, sthandwa (I’m sorry, my love). Ndingu (I am). I’ve been slacking, but I won’t continue to. Please, come home. Ukukukhanya kwan (You are my light), and my world has been so dark these past few days. I can not bare it anymore.”
Her words crack any further hardening of your heart. “Ewe, sthandwa (Yes, my love). I’ll come home.”
Shuri buries her head in your neck, kissing and crying, “Enkosi,” repeating from her lips. Riri stands back, weeping harder at the display before her. You reach your hand out to her, “Yiza, ntombazana sisidenge.”
Riri stands still, eyebrows raised, brown, hopeful eyes piercing your own loving ones. “Translate?”
“Come here, silly girl.”

Got it Like That (Shuri x Reader)
18+
AN: I enjoyed writing this and I hope someone else enjoys reading it.
You began to stir at the soft lips indulging your neck. The sweet kisses and nips came from your wife Shuri. Although your bedroom was bathed in darkness, you noticed Shuri light up at the fact that you awoke.
“Hi,” she said.
“Hi baby, what are you doing?”
“What does it look like?”
“It looks like you’re trying to get something started.”
She chuckled lightly and pressed her body against yours. “Maybe I am.” This time she gently bit your ear.
Holding in a laugh, your eyes landed on the time to see it was a quarter to 5, which meant she had an hour before she readied herself for work. If this had been you trying to arouse her in the middle of her sleep, it’d be a very different reaction. But the truth was that you were nearly always horny for your wife, as she was for you.
“What do you want, princess?” You asked. “And use your words.”
“I want to fuck.”
Your eyes became hooded. She stared down at you defiantly as she straddled you. You squeezed her hips firmly. “And why’s that, princess? Shouldn’t you be asleep?”
Shuri sighed a little before grinding on you. “I clearly can’t sleep, Y/ N. Put me to bed.”
It never ceased to amaze you just how hot your wife was. And the way she was moving on top of you told you she wanted to ride. You were going to see to it.
Just like that, you rolled her on her back and kissed her passionately. She matched your fervor, cupping your cheeks as your mouths claimed each other.
You only pulled away so you could get your strap. Shuri had designed ones for you and her. “I’ll be back.”
She looked at you knowingly and sat up, crawling to the ottoman situated in front of the king size bed. She already had the strap laid out.
“Oh, you were ready.” You shared a laugh.
“Clock is ticking, Y/N.” She raised her eyebrows and tapped her wrist.
“You have a lot of mouth for someone who wants something from me. I got you, baby, relax.”
It was evident how much she craved this “sexy time” with you. Her walls were so slick that there was barely resistance. She sucked you right in, damn near trapping you inside her.
~
Shuri moaned as the strap she was currently cumming on began vibrating. “Fuck!”
You smiled impishly and gripped her in place, only maximizing the already overwhelming pleasure for her.  “Does that feel good, wife?”
“Too sensitive!” She was trembling and panting, yet bouncing up and down frantically on you.
A moment later as she caught her breath or tried to, you lapped up her juices. But not for long. She moved your head away, however, you only grabbed her ass, pulling her to you again.
“Baby, stop,” she protested.
You were a bit confused because her moisture only increased as you pressed your tongue against her clit. But you relented this time, licking your lips. Shuri wiped your face with the sheet.
“You didn’t like it?” You asked.
She kissed you slightly aggressively, making you smile afterwards. “Of course I did.” She laid down, beckoning you. “Come, now.”
You already knew where she wanted you, so you obliged her desire. Her hands stroked your thighs, warming them up yet sending chills all the same. She delighted in you moaning her name as she slurped your clit. Her tongue swam in your waters, feasting on your every crevice.
Shuri smiled from ear to ear, gloating at having made you cum twice in a row. You’d made a mess on her face, which earned you a loving kiss. “You taste so good, usana. Better and better every time.” Her kisses continued, specifically on your neck again. You felt her hand creep between your legs again. “She wants more.”
“Don’t you have work?”
She chuckled. “I come later today. But for now, I want to cum in you.”
Enough said. Holding eye contact, she planted kisses on your breasts.
“Keep your eyes on me,” Shuri directed, pausing her fingering. Once your pretty brown eyes were revealed again, she continued stretching you out with her deft digits. “Bast, I could eat you again.” She stopped her ministrations once more. You watched as she sucked your residue from her fingertips. The sight was incredibly erotic.
“Be my guest,” You told your wife.
She smirked. “After you take this dick.”
This time your body was wrapped around her as she fed her fake dick to you. She had a grip on the back of your knee as you slammed your hips downward to meet her heated thrusts. It was beyond sexy as she handled you with ease yet passion. Her eyes told you that she found you to be the most beautiful person she’d ever laid eyes on, let alone laid with, and been in a relationship with. How lucky she was to call you her wife.
“This pussy is sublime. Am I satisfying you, Y/N?”  She questioned before pushing into you with a grunt. One of her hands played with your boobs. Obviously the incessant moans and cries pouring from your mouth, your sopping pussy, and hard nipples were all the proof she needed.
“Yes! Yes, Shuri!”
Her chuckle turned into a growl when you squeezed the thick, long shaft. She could feel it. Her reaction only made your walls clench her again. No more nice Shuri. She pounded into you, the tip of her shaft poking your ultimate pleasure spot. Desperately needing a resource for tension, you held onto one of the silk pillows over your head.
Your juices warmed Shuri up in that familiar way she adored as your pussy flexed on her length. Feeling the challenge of how you spasmed around her, she became forceful with her thrusts, groaning when her body couldn’t take anymore. Her own nectar blasted on and in you. Her climax was long-lasting. She often came heavy, depositing what felt like buckets of cum, because you turned her on that much.
“Fuck, babe,” You said in between a laugh, your combined releases leaking past your bodies. Your lips found each other again in a slow but searing kiss. You pushed down on her rear end while your tongues united.
“Do you see what you do to me?” Shuri looked into your eyes.
“Uh, hell yeah.” You laughed and traced her cheek as she smiled softly. “It’s sexy. Everything about you is sexy and spectacular. I hit the jackpot.”
“Oh, really now?” She held you, allowing you both to calm down before the after care.
“Yes, and apparently you have, too. Got you going into work late now.” You grinned.
“Hush.” She shook her head. “That has nothing to do with you.”
“Yeah, yeah.” You knew better. “You’re addicted—OW.”
She pinched your butt cheek. “Even if I am, you don’t have to brag.”
“I think I will, actually. Hey!” Your brows furrowed in disapproval as she walked away.
“I can’t even get up to run a bath. Who’s really addicted?” She called, playfulness in her tone.

_________________________________________________
Shuri was working non-stop in the lab so she can defeat Namor. I was there for her every time she needed me. I'd always bring her food, give her massages, give her love etc. Sometimes she doesn't like to take it but most times she does.
I prepared to pamper her today. It was Sunday and as i call it, a "Self Care Sunday". Planning out everything to get it done for her, I got dressed and headed out the door to the market in the village. Sun blazing in my face, I stopped by some family and great friends. After finishing up in the village, i headed up to her lab.
"Queen,-" Griot began speaking before i interrupted "Hush. Do not announce my arrival." I commanded him. Shuri programmed him to take commands from me as well Oh how sweet! I got off the elevator entering her lab and she had yet to notice me. She was staring at her brothers DNA.
After altering the little circle, she plugged it back in and it all turned green. I screamed out in excitement knowing that meant it worked. She jumped around excited till she heard my scream, getting a little startled not knowing i was there. "Baby!" i exclaimed and ran to her. She engulfed me into a huge hug and twirled me around.
We shared a long kiss. "You did so good, my love. I'm so proud of you and that big brain up in this big head." I joked. She made a tiny frown but soon replaced it with laughter. "Thank you, baby. You're always there for me. I thank you for checking on me, bringing me food, showing me affection and not giving up on me all while i'm down here. Thank you for your patience." Shuri said holding my hand and rubbing my matching tattoo with her thumb.
"Anything for you, baby. I love you." I smiled and she followed suite. We shared another kiss. "Wrap this up. Meet me upstairs. I have something for you. Give me like 𝟥𝟢 minutes though." i said with a sneaky smirk on my face. She shook her head and agreed. I gave her one last kiss on the cheek and left.
_________
I rushed into our apartment in the palace. I turned on the stove and got to cooking. I wanted to cater to my girlfriend. She's been working hard and haven't been her best self lately. Too many things has been going on in her life and I know she deserves a break. I had some of my music going in the back as I plate her food.
I was alerted that the door was being unlocked and came in was my beautiful girlfriend. She dressed in a a two piece gray set. Placing her keys in the basket and taking her shoes off at the door, she took a big whiff of the air. "Is that my favorite?" She exclaimed walking over and rubbing her hands together. Her tongue swiped over her lips as she towered behind me looking at the plate of food.
She placed her hands on my waist and placed a kiss on my neck and cheek. "Hi baby and yes i did make your favorite." I said as she went to the sink to wash her hands. I sat our plates on the island in front of the stools along with a drink. I washed my hands and accompanied her in eating.
Once we finished, i picked up our plates and threw them in the sink. Beginning to wash them, she placed a kiss on my cheek. "I'm going to take a bath." she said walking away. "Wait for me." I said shooting her a wink and she laughed me off.
She walked into our room and I seen her clothes flying. I finally walked in and seen her standing in front of the mirror with only underwear. I walked behind her and hugged her waist. I could read her like a book. She was thinking hard about something. "Baby stop all that worrying." i assured her.
"You'll defeat him. No doubt." i rubbed her belly then detached from her. She stripped out the rest of her clothes and i couldn't take my eyes of her. I looked like a hungry lion looking at her physique. "Can you not stare so hard? I'm not a piece of meat." She said with her back turnt. I looked around because how the hell she knew i was looking?
That's them panther senses she got from her sweet brother.
Little did she know, i had our bathtub filled with hot epsom salt water, bubbles, rose petals, candles lit and my music from earlier connected to our speakers in the bathroom. "Y/N... No you didn't." She said from the bathroom. I walked in naked as well and giggled. "Yes the hell i did. Why not? You deserve it." i said shrugging then looking into the mirror that spread from one wall to the other.
She came behind me and cupped my breast in her hands. "Look no touch eh? My goodness." i said using my fake wakandan accent since i wasn't from here. She laughed at me and let me go.
Once she sunk into the water, she looked at ease immediately.
OMNISCIENT POV (play song)
Once Shuri sunk her slim body into the water, she stared at Y/N thicker figure while Y/N stared into the mirror oblivious to her staring. Shuri fell into a trance and her eyes filled with lust but that quickly disappeared. Shuri knew Y/N was trying to do something very sweet for her but she couldn't get her mind off of defeating Namor. It was on her schedule ever since she lost her mom.
Trying her best to make the thoughts disappear, she stared back at her girlfriend and just admired her beauty. She began thinking about how good Y/N been to her and her mind overflowed with lustful thoughts. Y/N turned around to face Shuri sitting in the tub and began speaking but Shuri heard nothing but sex, sex and sex.
Y/N joined Shuri in the tub and she then snapped out her trance. "You ok, Baby?" Y/N asked as she sat on the lap of her girlfriend. Shuri bit her lip still looking at her melanin coated girlfriend. "You look so good mama. You do something to me." She said, snaking her hands around Y/N waist.
Y/N got to blushing and snuck her arms around Shuri's neck. She planted a kiss on her lovers lips and laid her head on her shoulder. They sat in the water with one's chest against on the others. Shuri caressed Y/N behind as she played with bubbles on her lap. She stared in awe at her girlfriend being so joyous.
Y/N found a safe place in Shuri. They made each other feel complete. They were like the missing puzzle pieces. They were also inseparable. Y/N found Shuri in her darkest times which is right before she lost T'Challa. Shuri values her so much since they met in such a shaky time.
They played around in the tub together. Splashing, Putting bubbles on each other head and just had a great time together. It was a memorable time for them both. The love they were in is something that takes years to look for.
𝟐𝟎 minutes passed and they got up and into the shower. Y/N stood behind Shuri in the shower as they washed off. Admiring her body from behind made her stomach tickle. Shuri turned around to face Y/N and took her bottom lip under her teeth. She snaked her arms around the smaller girl's waist. She bent down and gripped her ass also giving her a deep kiss.
Y/N hands laid on the back on Shuri's neck as their tongues fought for dominance in the kiss. Shuri pushed her lover under the water and pinned her against the wall. The water ran on the two as they engaged in a make out session. Shuri pushed her two slender fingers inside Y/N making her gasp in her lovers mouth.
Shuri detached from the kiss, pulled her fingers out and pushed them in her mouth tasting her girlfriend on her tongue. "Mhm fuck girl. Get yo ass out this shower and on that bed right now." Shuri growled and smacked Y/N ass on her way out to the walk in shower.
Y/N giggled and grabbed her towel slightly drying herself off as she ran into the shared bedroom. She sat on the bed, legs open waiting for her panther to arrive. Shuri's tall figure appeared in the doorway and had lust and hunger in her eyes. "Just sitting pretty waiting on me hm?" she titled her head looking at Y/N heat.
Shuri approached the bed and engaged in a long kiss with Y/N. She took her hand and rubbed on the others clit making her moan in Shuri mouth. Shuri stuck two fingers in her and she detached from the kiss as her head flew back. She loved Shuri's fingers slipping in and out of her as whatever pace she feels is right. Y/N was all under Shuri's control.
Shuri's eyes filled with hunger and she slipped her fingers out and threw them in Y/N mouth. Her fingers between those two pink and brown lips did something to her. She snatched her fingers back and lowered herself to Y/N womanhood. They stared at each other while Shuri ate like she never ate before. Y/N moans filled the room as her lover went to town on her.
Y/N head flew back as she felt the immense pleasure from below. "Keep fucking looking at me." Shuri demanded and Y/N whimpered. She longed for her mouth on her again. Y/N looked back down and Shuri went back in for her meal. Licking and flicking her tongue all through Y/N folds made her go crazy. Her moans got louder and louder as she attacked one sweet spot.
Shuri removed her mouth and climbed on top of Y/N. Pushing her on her back and positioning herself on top of Y/N, she began rocking her hips. They both moaned out being filled with extreme pleasure. Shuri held onto Y/N leg while she rocked her womanhood against her lovers. Shuri wrapped her hand around Y/N neck and sped up her rocking.
Their juices audible sounding like mac & cheese. Y/N flipped shuri on her back and took the control ... oh well so she thought. She sat on top rocking her hips as Shuri demanded her to rock faster. Y/N whimpered as Shuri tightened her grip on her neck.
"I'm going to cum, baby." Y/N managed to get out. "Cum all on me." Shuri said. Shuri held in her moans to maintain dominance but she just couldn't. They screamed out for each other as their climax's approached. Y/N came first as her legs began slightly shaking.
Y/N kept rocking as it was now Shuri's turn. Y/N sensitive bud made her go into a state of euphoria. Shuri's bit her lip as she felt herself having an orgasm. Dirty words flowed out her mouth as she rode it out. Y/N fell tirelessly next to Shuri. They both started laughing.
"I love you, Shuri."
"I love you more, love."

DIDN'T DESERVE
Tumblr media
A/N: this did not turn out the way i expected it too at all. anyways ignore all mistakes cause this aint proof read word count: 1.7k+
Tumblr media
“Shuri, how come you ain’t tell me where you was last night?” Shuri's girlfriend, Imani said, irritation in her voice.
Shuri shrugs. “I was with Riri-”
Imani rolled her eyes and scoffed. “Of course you was with her. The two of yall might as well date with the amount of times yall see each other.”
“Baby, what are you talking about?”
“You spend more time with your,” She makes air quotes, “‘best friend’ than you do your girlfriend, Shuri. You don’t see an issue with that?”
Shuri was confused. Yeah, her and Riri spent time together but they didn’t spend that much time together, right? Whether the answer was yes or not, Shuri loved Imani and would choose her over anyone and everyone.
“I’m sorry, Ima. I’ll spend more time with you, I promise. How about we go on a date tonight?”
Imani brushed her off, still annoyed. “I don’t wanna go out, Shuri, I want you to stop hanging out with Riri. Period.”
“Okay,” Shuri says with no hesitation. She wants to make her girlfriend happy and if that means she and Riri can’t hang out anymore then so be it.
“Good.” Imani kisses Shuri on the forehead and goes to the bathroom.
Shuri’s phone goes off twice. They’re messages from Riri. Shuri doesn’t bother reading them when she types: “We can’t hang out anymore.” and blocks Riri’s number. It stung her heart a little bit but what else could Shuri do? Imani’s her first girlfriend and she just wants to keep her happy.
Shuri gets up from the couch and goes to the kitchen. She opens the pantry, taking out a bag of Doritos and opens the fridge, taking out a carton of juice. She pours some in a cup before putting it back and making her way to the living room. She sets her snack and drink down and turns on the T.V. She falls asleep waiting for Imani to come out the bathroom.
When Shuri wakes up, she can feel a hand running through her hair. She looks up and it’s Imani.
“You sleep good?” She asks.
Shuri hums, stretching slightly. “What time is it?”
Imani checks her phone, “6:32, why?”
“I have a meeting with the council at 7.” Shuri groans and gets up slowly. She finishes her juice from earlier and kisses Imani on the forehead. “I’ma go get ready. I’ll see you later tonight?”
“I made plans so prolly not,” Imani says and goes back on her phone.
Tumblr media
Shuri’s the first one in the throne room, as usual, but Riri was close behind her.
“Shuri, can we talk?” She says, pulling Shuri to the side.
“No. Didn’t you get my text?”
“No, I did, I’m just wondering why I got it. And so outta the blue, too. Did something happen?”
“Nothing happened, Riri. I just don’t want any kind of relationship with you that isn’t strictly professional. Aren’t we only supposed to be colleagues, anyway?”
“Seriously? Shuri, you can't be serious right now! Are you at least gonna tell me what I did?”
Shuri notices some of the Elders coming in. “Leave it alone, Williams. I’ve said what I’ve said.” She walks away and sits on the throne, waiting for the other Elders to come in.
They discussed the safety of Wakanda, the Panther and Ironheart suits, and the new buildings that were being constructed in Wakanda. Then Shuri went to the lab to work for hours.
It was around 11pm when Shuri made it back to her and Imani’s place and she was tired. She was expecting to find Imani in bed but she had forgotten that she said she’d made plans. The apartment was dark and lonely without another person there. Shuri didn’t like it. She turned on all the lights and put on a random show for some background noise while she took a shower. It was 11:30 when she was done. She was so exhausted from today that she didn’t even bother changing into clothes. Once her body touched that bed, that was it, lights out.
Tumblr media
“Shuri!” Shuri wakes up to Imani shaking her. “The bed is wet because of you! How am I supposed to sleep!?”
“The couch,” Shuri deadpans. Imani waited for Shuri to say she was joking but she wasn’t. It’s not like there was anywhere else for her to sleep other than on the couch.
“Why don’t you sleep on the couch?” Imani says, rolling her eyes.
Shuri groans and sits up on her elbows. She looks at the clock on her bedside table then back at Imani. “It’s 2 in the morning right now, Ima. I am tired. There’s no point in me moving when you’re the one complaining. You said the ‘whole bed’ is wet so go sleep on the couch.” And with that, she turns her back to Imani and goes back to sleep, ignoring the angry muttering from her girlfriend.
Tumblr media
It had been about a week and a half since Shuri told Imani to sleep on the couch that night but Imani took it personally and has been sleeping on the couch ever since. Shuri didn’t even remember what she said since she was so tired but she assumed it was bad since her and Imani have barely even been talking unless they absolutely have to.
“Are you hungry?” Shuri asked Imani from the kitchen. No response. Shuri rolled her eyes and went over to her girlfriend, standing in front of her. “Can you just tell me why you’re ignoring me?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because you should remember. It’s not my fault your memory is shit.”
“And it’s not my fault that you’re having this one-sided ass fight over something I don’t even fucking remember, Imani. We're dating, aren’t we? We’re supposed to be able to talk to one another when we have issues but instead you're pushing me away and ignoring me.”
“You were rude and inconsiderate, Shuri. You slept in the middle of the bed, with your towel on, making the bed wet, and then you told me to sleep on the couch.”
Shuri sat down, rubbing her eyebrow. “So, where exactly were you planning on sleeping, again?”
“What?”
“I mean, I’m just saying. From what you just told me, the entire bed was wet, somehow, so where did you actually plan on sleeping?”
“It’s not what you said, Shuri, it’s how you fucking said it. You didn’t even care about me enough to sleep on your side of the damn bed.”
“I was in a meeting from 7 to 11 pm, Imani. I was tired and you woke me up to complain so my bad for my tone?”
“Oh, please, what’s oh, so, tiring about sitting down and talking about things that need to be fixed or done in Wakanda?”
“It wasn’t just the meeting, Imani. I also had to go to the lap and fix some things on my and Riri’s suit-”
“Oh, really?” Imani scoffed, “So, what? Riri can’t fix her own damn suit now?”
“She doesn’t live here, Imani. She came here for one week for personal reasons, not to work.”
“She could’ve carried the suit behind her and worked on it from that scrappy lil garage of hers in Chicago.”
“I told her months ago that her suit cannot leave Wakanda, which you would know if you actually listened to me when I talked.”
“I listen when you talk, Shuri. It’s you who never listens to me and what I say. The fact that you’re still doing ‘favors’ for Riri proves that.”
“Excuse me? Me fixing the very creation that I helped her make isn’t me helping her. Me and Riri haven't even spoken since I told we can’t hang out anymore, so you can go somewhere else with that misinformation.”
“I don’t appreciate this tone of yours.”
“And I don’t appreciate how you’ve treated me like shit our entire fucking relationship,” Shuri starts, “Everything you ask of me, I do, and I mean everything, Imani. But it’s like, no matter what I do for you it’s never enough. You told me to stop hanging out Riri and I did but you just have to find a reason to get pissed off about something that barely even fucking concerns her and it’s irritating. You might as well be obsessed with the girl with the way you know so much shit about her and me.”
Imani stands up. “Shuri, if you keep talking to me like I’m one of your little fan girls, you gon lose me as a girlfriend, I promise.”
“Nobodys stopping you from leaving,” Shuri shrugs. She’s been through too much bullshit from this woman to even care anymore. “Leave.”
Imani scoffs and goes to pack her things.
“Leave your key on the way out, too,” Shuri says, getting up and leaving.
Today was the last day Riri was in Wakanda and Shuri had to make things right before she lost the best friend she’s ever had in her life.
Shuri knocks on Riri’s door, thankful that she hadn’t left yet when she heard her say, “One minute!” Riri opens the door a few seconds later, her face dropping immediately when she realizes it was Shuri.
“What do you want?” Riri says, folding her arms across her chest.
“I wanted to apologize.” Riri’s face softens slightly. “I shouldn’t have chosen Imani over you, especially when I’ve known you longer than I have her. I know what I did was stupid, Ri, and I’m sorry. Imani was my first girlfriend and I was willing to do anything for her love and her approval, even if that meant cutting out the best thing that’s ever happened to me. You didn’t deserve to be ghosted by me like that and I should’ve explained things weeks ago at the meeting but I was scared Imani would find out and break up with me and I know that’s no excuse but I really am sorry, Riri.”
Just as Riri was about to speak, another voice came from inside her room. “Ri, who is it?” They yell.
“No one, Aniyah!” She yells back. Riri turns back to Shuri, “I appreciate the apology, Shuri, I really do, but you’re a week too late. I don’t want anything to do with you after what you did.” And with that, she closes the door, leaving Shuri rethinking her entire life choices.

The Girl with The Tattoos pt 2
Shuri POV
Getting Mbali back to the palace was pretty easy, after she had thrown up she passed out. While she was out, I had Aneka and Ayo stop by her apartment so I could grab her a few things.
Her apartment was very her, or the her that I could remember anyway. She’d painted all over the walls, but what stopped me in my tracks was a painting on the wall of me.
The painting was of myself, T’Challa and my mother. T’challa and my mother above me in the sky looking down. She drew them in the ancestral plane. The look on my face in the painting was pure devastation, it unnerved me to see it.
Another wall was of the Palace garden with two young girls chasing each other. One wearing a tribal gown, and the other in tribal furs.
Realizing I was taking too long, I went into her bedroom found a bag and started to pack some clothes for her. I grabbed her essentials, like her hygiene products and her artist kit.
By the time we arrived back at the palace is was late. I bid Aneka and Ayo a goodnight and took Mbali to my quarters.
I put her things down on my coffee table and stripped her of the skintight dress. She wore only panties under the dress, I put my own oversized t-shirt over her head and cleaned off her makeup.
Once I knew she was settled in my bed, I went over to my work table and started back on my research. Sleep never came easy to me after the past few months so I adapted to it and focused on inventing things that could better protect Wakanda.
A few more hours pass before I’m exhausted enough to fall asleep and I knock out on my desk, not able to make it to the bed.
A scream wakes me up and I jolt, standing quickly looking around. I see Mbali standing on my bed taking in her surroundings.
“Princess!” Okoye bursts into my room, her face stone cold as she looks for the threat.
“Its ok, Okoye.” I say, wiping my eyes. “I’ve got this.”
Okoye looks from Mbali to me and gives me a look.
“Do you know what M’baku will do if he hears that his sister is here?” Okoye exclaims.
“The great gorilla will do nothing.” Mbali grimaces. “I’m an adult, he cannot dictate what I do as I am no longer Jabari. I have no people and therefore cannot be regulated.”
“Okoye, leave us.” I demand, seeing her gearing up to say something else. She nods her head before standing tall and marching out, closing the door behind her.
“Why am I here?” Mbali demands, her arms crossed over her chest.
“When did you start drinking?” I counter. The girl I knew so long ago was so different now.
“Why do you care?” Mbali snidely remarks. “I’ve been in the city for a long while so why do you suddenly care now?”
“I do not take part in the gossip and tea culture of Wakanda. I’ve spent the last year and a half grieving my loved ones, working in my lab and as you know fighting in the name of Wakanda.” I give her a scolding look. “Had I known you were here in the city, I would have seeked you out.”
“Why? You don’t even know me.” Mbali scoffs. “Sure we played together as children but—“
“Played together?” I scoff. I walk towards the bed and pull her down so she’s looking up at me. “I’ve been to your apartment. You and I both know there was more to it then that, I made you a promise and I sure as hell intend to keep it.”
“You never came…” She whispers, her anger melting away. She looks away, but I can hear the sniffle she tries to cover.
“I wanted to but I wasn’t in the right place to look for you. I’m still trying to heal and it is a struggle daily to get up and do as I’m supposed to.” My accent getting stronger.
“I saw you at T’challa’s funeral. You looked so hurt, so broken. I wanted nothing more than to comfort you but I figured you didn’t want me around especially since everyone knew I was in the city.” Mbali reveals and I stare at her, thinking of the painting on her wall. “When you lost your mother, I knew you were in a bad place. Yet I felt I couldn’t approach you, because you didn’t come for me.”
“Mbali when I saw you last night, the only thing going through my mind was ‘does she remember our promise?’ We were so young but I meant every word.” I declare.
“You must be disappointed…” I can smell the scent of her tears, as she continues looking away. I grasp her face in my hand and turn her to look at me. “Drinking to the point I act a fool in public….”
“Mbali. I could never be disappointed in you. You are the same girl I fell in love with as a child. I cannot judge you for doing whatever you did to survive. We all have our vices. I can only hope you’ll allow me to take away the need for those vices.” I beseech her to permit me to be there for her.
“I don’t want to let another person in.” She sobs. “I don’t think—no! I know I won’t be able to survive losing someone else. Everyone left me all alone.”
“I will never leave you, sthandwa.” I swear to her. “I know how it feels to lose the people you love, I would never do that to you. You have my word.”
“Shuri…” She sighs. “You’re to be Queen in only a few days. Tradition is sacred in Wakanda, they will never let you take a woman lover.”
“You’re right.” I confirm, watching as she looks devastated. “They will never accept me having a woman lover but they WILL accept my wife.”
“I…”
“What did I promise you all those years ago, Sthandwa?” I demand. She swallows, biting her lip.
“Say it.” My tone commanding, I needed her to say it.
“You promised to marry me. You said that I’d be your Princess.” She mutters, her chest rising and falling with every breath.
“And I meant it.” I acknowledge my promise. “You will be my Queen. I never had it in my mind to rule, never wanted to but you’ve reminded me that Wakanda needs a ruler that is openminded and willing to enact change”
I remove my family ring, the one that was given to me by my father and place it on her finger. It was identical to T’challa’s as our father gave us both a ring. I would keep T’challa’s ring as my wedding band.
“Will you be my Queen, Mbali daughter of Wakanda?” I ask her, my eyes pleading.
“You already placed the ring, silly.” She giggles through her tears, sniffling. I give her a look, impatiently. “Yes.”
With that one word, Mbali strengthened my heart ensuring I’d do everything in my power to heal as I planned to heal her.
I’m thinking of doing a few flashbacks in the upcoming parts. Let me know if you’d like me to upload this story to Wattpad. Until next time. 💕

I was taking a risk, removing the beautifully sculpted kimoyo bracelet from my wrist and dropping them on the end table by my front door. Shuri knew my schedule better than I did; she would be ringing my beads, wondering why my location revealed me to be home and not in class. What she didn’t know, however, was that my Metallurgy class ended an hour early today, giving me enough time to execute the idea I’d been sitting on for weeks.
The bus ride was far too long, my patience burned short with excitement. When the double doors parted at my presence, I felt like royalty; the way my Shuri must feel often. “Hi! Welcome to The Animal Rescue League of Boston. How can I help you today?” The chipper girl’s grin was contagious and I caught it like a virus.
“Uh, hi,” I stated, suddenly feeling timid. “I’m interested in adopting a kitten.”
Her eyes could not have lit up any brighter, gifting her a glow that could rival the Sun. “Oh my goodness, absolutely! Are you a first time pet owner?”
I shook my head, easily. “No ma’am. I had a cat growing up, from the day I was born. She lived 17 years.”
Her already bright smile grew larger. “Oh, so you’re a pro then! Also, you can drop the ma’am; I’m not that old. Name’s Mackenzie.” Extended is her hand, awaiting my own. I give into the offer and give a gentle squeeze. “Y/n,” I say back, still smiling.
“Y/n? That’s so freaking pretty! Come, follow me. I’ll introduce you to our felines.” Mackenzie stands, and I follow, each step igniting a thrill in me. We make a sharp left and soon approach a glass door, behind which tiny predators flock and flit around.
I catch a glimpse of dark fur sprint across the room, and when I enter it, that’s the first kit I go towards. With a timid hand outstretched, I wait, beckoning the little thing to come forward. It was beautiful, with more fur than it had body and a dark hue mirroring that of a night with no moon. Golden eyes peered at me, filled to the brim with playfulness and curiosity.
The tiny puss pounces at my fingers, dangling in its face.
That’s it. That was all it took to melt my heart. “I’ll take this one.”
Mackenzie beames down at the two of us. “Yeah, he took to you instantly. He’s a beaut, isn’t he?”
“He’s gorgeous,” I mew.
Moments later, the baby ball of fur was in his crate, rapid meows spilling from his body whilst I joined Mackenzie to fill out the appropriate papers. “What’ll you call him?”
“Little Panther,” I respond with no thought, no doubt.
When we arrive at my apartment, I barely walk through the door, greeted with my abandoned kimoyo beads buzzing furiously. When I pick them up, an image of my Shuri greets me. “Hi, my love,” I welcome her, placing Little Panther on the floor to explore, out of Shuri’s line of vision.
“Do not ‘hi, my love’ me,” She threw back, clearly angry. “Why have you ignored my first…” She glances down at her own beads, probably recalling how many times she’d tried to reach me with no avail. “Ten calls,” she continued. “I was worried. I thought something had happened to you. I thought-”
“Baby, calm down,” I sooth, sensing a panic rising in my queen. “I’m okay. In fact, I have a surprise for you. How soon can you get here?”
“Y/n, sthandwa, I am queen of a nation. I can not just up and leave on an impromptu trip to the States.”
She’s trying so hard to be serious and failing miserably. “So,” I trail. “I’ll see you in an hour?” Shuri bears barely there smile in defeat. “Make it an hour and a half. I have to pack.”
I can’t hide my excitement anymore, jumping up and down and squealing like a child. My sounds scare Little Panther, who squeaks a shrill noise and seeks sovereign underneath the couch. “What was that?” Shuri attempts, but I stop her short. “Okay, my queen. Have a safe flight, see you in a few, bye,” spills from me hurriedly, as I hang up on Her Royal Highness to tend to my fur baby crying from his safety.
Exactly 90 minutes later, a key is inserted into my locked door as Shuri lets herself in, bags in tow. I anticipated her arrival, hiding Little Panther in my bedroom, wanting to build up to his reveal.
“Baby,” I rushed to her, truly excited. It had been a month since we’d adorned each other last, both our schedules conflicting frustratingly so. My queen’s arm snakes around my waist, pulling my body against hers. “I’ve missed you,” I admit. Shuri doesn’t speak, taking in the moment with me in her hold. My gaze climbs hers and I confess. “I have news, my love.”
My attempt at a heavy demeanor brings my Shuri’s features to pull into a smile. “What? Are you pregnant?” Her tone is joking and the claim almost causes me to break character, but I decide to play into it.
Taking her hand and pulling her to the couch, I sit her down. My seriousness is threatening to crack but determined to hold it together, I sigh, a deep, troubled sound. “Shuri, we have a son.”
Her sculpted brows jump, yet her dark eyes narrow in suspicion. Mouth agape, all she can utter is “What?”
“We have a son,” I repeat, corners of my mouth rising, but so little, I’m sure it goes by unnoticed. “Would you like to meet him?” Shuri’s mouth barely moves, though her eyes dart to my belly, as if searching for a bump. When I stand to retreat to my bedroom, her eyes refuse to leave my abdomen, as if the baby that’s not there will grow before her eyes.
In the safety of my room, the giggle fit erupts, and by the time I find Little Panther and bring him out to the living room, the laughter hasn’t subsided.
“Shuri, my love, meet our son.” Her eyes drop, caulking with boredom.
 “A kitten?”
An excited nod shakes from my head, Little Panther in my hands preparing to leap straight onto my love’s skeptical form.
“You got my hopes up, umama womnthwana,” she admits, actually sounding disappointed.
“Shuri, how-nevermind. Here, hold him.”
“Why?” my dubious girl questions slowly.
“I got him cuz he reminds me of you, mamas. He’s my Little Panther.”
“First of all,” Shuri starts dramatically. “He is a he.” My eyes roll to the sky, then back to my queen.
“Secondly, I am nothing like a meek kitten.” She spits the last word like it disgusts her. “I am the Black Panther, protector of Wakanda. I am not a kitten.”
Smirk growing on my lips, I retort, “Oh, really? You be purring for me when I touch your-”
“Eh!” the Black Panther exclaims. “Hold your vulgar tongue. I am trying to be annoyed with you.”
“Trying?” I ask, hopeful that the girl would share my excitement.
“Mhm, trying usana. So, you’re not giving me an heir?”
This girl gotta be joking. “Usana,” I repeat, throwing it back at her. “Ho-how would I be pregnant? I don’t know if you’ve noticed, though I’m sure you have, being the world’s greatest scientist and shit, but we don’t have the parts for that.”
A mischievous grin spreads across her cheeks and she wiggles those beautifully thick brows. “I have ways, mama wabantwana bam, if that’s what you want.”
“What do you keep calling me? It’s sexy, coming off your tongue like that, but I feel like I should be insulted.”
Shuri’s curls bounce as she shakes her head, leaving my question stranded. “Well, then,” I propose. “Let’s start with a fur baby.”
I catch the grimace glitter my girl’s face and she stands to stretch before heading to the kitchen. “Nope.”
The night goes by and when the sun rises on the next day, Shuri isn’t in bed with me. Searching for the royal doesn’t take long. She’s in the living room, hands trying to type furiously at something on the laptop she brought with her. Little Panther is thwarting her attempts, swiping and springing at her nimble fingers each time.
Neither of them have noticed me yet, and I watch in amusement. Shuri takes a deep, frustrated breath. Creeping down to be eye level with the fiery orbs of the tiny puss, my queen seethes “Listen you litte fur ball. You are getting in my way.”
Little Panther swipes playfully at Shuri’s nose, causing her to scoff. “You are nothing like me. I am mighty. You are mild.”
The kitten opens it’s tiny mouth to meow an insult back at my girl. “I-panther encinci, little panther. Little Panther,” she drags. Her eyes never leave the cat’s, and it leans forward, butt wiggling in the air. “Oh, you better not-” Shuri starts, but Little Panther heads her words, leaping from the table and onto her lap with a fury. “I bet you think you just did something great, huh?”
Finally stepping out of the shadows over to my queen changes her whole demeanor. “Molweni Ekuseni, sthandwa. Come collect your son.”
And collect my son I do, adorning his little fluffy figure in kisses. “None for me?” Shuri pouts, eyes begging.
“Uh, uh. You told me to collect my son, not my girl.”
Little Panther has taken a liking to the Wakandan Queen and he was determined to crack her hard demeanor. Later that day, when Shuri napped, head in my lap on the couch, LP took it upon himself to climb atop her chest for his own nap.
My queen’s eyes opened at his presence, but she left him be. That night, she bore her claws and let them swing in the baby cat’s face, allowing him to practice his pouncing while she rattled off tips and pointers as if he could understand.
“Enkosi, intombi yam,” Shuri spoke to me the day before she was due to return to Wakanda.
“Translate, baby.”
A smile bore her face, Little Panther asleep in her lap as her fingers shyly pet his furry body. “Thank you, my girl.”
“For what?”
Her eyes were glossed over and she hesitated to speak. “This Little Panther…. He is nothing like me, I still stand firm on that.”
“Mhm,” I start, but her interruption cuts my voice short.
“But, he does remind me a lot of a greater Black Panther. The greatest one, in my opinion.”
The tears streak her face and I catch on. “T’Challa?”
“Yes,” she bites her lip, inhaling deep to steady her words. “He was meek and bold and determined all at once. He was a force to be reckoned with, one whom did not take no as an answer. Much like this Little Panther. That is his namesake, not my own.”
My own face is wet now as well, and I pull Shuri in close, her arm wrapping around me on instinct. “So, he’s grown on you?”
My love’s eyes roll, causing more tears to spill. “He broke my guard as soon as I realized his eyes matched the gold in my suit.”
Laughter pours from my lips and I accept the victory. “Yes! Welcome to the family, LP.”
Shuri’s head sways back and forth, a besting beam washing over her. “Welcome to the family Little Panther.”

Realistic Head-canons kind of with dating Shuri
————
Tumblr media
She loves stealing your food-
It was another day of watching reality tv shows and yelling at the tv how someone pissed me off.
I reach for the remote pausing the tv and putting down my drink.
“You see this is why I can’t stand Jasmine, why the hell would she go out telling that girl business like that!” I say shaking my head and grabbing some more chips, unpausing the tv.
I feel the faint buzz of my phone and quickly flick the silent switch getting back into the show drama.
5 minutes later I hear footsteps behind the couch.
“Baby I know you saw me texting you” I hear behind me, I look back to see Shuri and my eyes widen a little.
“Oh that was you?, sorry bae, Jasmine pissed me off” I say gesturing at the tv and while I’m trying to explain the drama to her she quickly swipes my bag of chips.
I look at her in shock as she pours some into her mouth from the bag.
“What did we say about eating my chips?” I say frowning.
“What did we say about answering my texts?” She says raising her eyebrow once she’s done chewing.
“Touché” I say turning back to the tv.
Secretly she loves when you pick her up-
I bump the beach ball back to Riri laughing and clapping when she catches it.
She throws it with a smirk on her face and I’m confused til it hits the water in-front of me, effectively splashing the hell out of me.
“Oh you wanna get people wet huh?” I say then make a weird face when she laughs, “not like that..SHURI AND LEANNA GET OVER HERE” I yell looking over at her laying down in the sun and raising her shades questioningly.
“Please” I say smiling, she hates getting in public pools.
“Just this once” she says holding up her index finger, then taking off her shorts and top to reveal her black swimsuit.
I take a second to check her out, her abs and sculpted body all around, her beautiful brown skin. Hardly noticing Leanna and Riri’s conversation.
“Alright we’re playing chicken, Riri on Leanna versus Shuri on me” I say smirking at Riri.
“That ain’t fair, you just want an easy win” she says shaking her head, I shrug.
“Come on baby, get on my shoulders” I say beckoning her over, she sighs, “Id much prefer if you were on me” she says smirking slightly, that cheeky little-
“Be careful what you wish for sthwandwa” I respond, leaning down as she climbs on my shoulders, I hold her thighs secure and hear her breath hitch slightly. I watch as as Riri and Leanna get ready too.
“Best out of three” I say walking towards Leanna and Riri.

Mama why you got tiger stripes?
Shuri Udaku x Dora Milaje reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You and Shuri have adopted a kid (Imani) who gets more curious by the day today he asks you about your "tiger" scars which leads to a conversation which opens some emotional scars unexpectedly with Shuri.
A/n: I guess this goes along with my Dora Milaje reader fics. (Since they're all kind of connected.)
Snippet from the fic: "He looks away as if he's going through his thoughts selecting the conversation before nodding "yes and mama said she thought you were a bad ass but you didn't want to hurt her so you held back." "
Being a Dora Milaje you are covered in scars from head to toe but your favorite and most noticeable ones are your "tiger stripes mama why do you have tiger stripes?" You glance at your arms then back at your child who's still awaiting an answer. "They're not tiger stripes your mother calls them panther scars she...when we were fighting she clawed me." The child gasps and looks at the picture of Shuri on the dining room table "mama hurt you?" You laugh and shake your head "yes bu-" "mama hurt you!?" You gently grab your son's hand "what have I told you about interrupting me when I speak Imani?" He purses his lips and nods "sorry mama" you nod "you're fine however remember when I told you how me and mama met?" He looks away as if he's going through his thoughts selecting the conversation before nodding "yes and mama said she thought you were a bad ass but you didn't want to hurt her so you held back." You raise your brow at his choice of words "mama said it" you smile and brush it off "well mama was just titled Black panther and queen at the time while I was titled the best hand to hand combat fighter in the Dora. Okoye... You remember auntie Okoye?" He nods "yes she's strong and super bad-sorry" you shake your head "well...Okoye thought that I needed some sort of reminder that I was reckless and I had a reckless way of thinking." You remember you're talking to a child rephrasing your words "she decided that since I thought I was grown and could go off plan that she'd leave me with the busy work training your mama." Imani smiles and nods "how was she?"
"Your mother was something else she was intimidating but I loved that she challenged me and did not hold back that's how I got these marks you see?" You show him your arms before lifting your shirt and showing him your tummy and waist. "Mama did you bad. Did she mean to hurt you?" How should you explain to a child that training is all about being hurt and learning from it. "Every scar is a lesson the ones on my arm remind me not to underestimate anyone your mother did mean to hurt me but only in training." He nods but curse him for having his mother's way of thinking "the scars on your tummy and waist they're fresher... Do you both still train?" You think back to how you got "those" scars because you weren't fighting when that happened. Your face immediately goes warm with the thoughts after your first date and how the night ended. If saved by the bell was a person it is Shuri as she walks into the home and immediately picks you up kissing all over your face with her keys and bag still in hand. "I thought you had queenly duties to attend to" she smiles "I finished for now but you know the job is never done." You nod "your son wants to know about our scars" Imani nods and Shuri smiles "okay like what scars?" Imani glances at you as he says "well mama Y/n has black panther scars all over her body do you have any scars?" Shuri nods slowly.
"Yes, would you like to know my favorite?" Imani nods eagerly but Shuri points to the middle of her forehead where her skin has this small almost unnoticeable dip "that scar kind of sucks mama" Shuri scoffs and laughs "your uncle would say different I got this when me and T'Challa were kids we were... Hectic never sat still for a minute our mother-" "mother Ramonda" Shuri nods and continues "yes our mother told us many times this day to stop running around be still we did not listen I ran until I hit my head against our wooden table it cut a gash through my forehead." Imani becomes more engrossed in the story but pats her leg "hold on" Imani runs out of the room leaving the both of you with blank looks on your faces he returns with a bag of chips and juice "continue" Shuri can't help but laugh at how much she reminds him of you even though you aren't really related. But what do relations have to do with family love? You sit on her lap and listen to the story too.
"C'mon mama continue" Shuri smiles as you sit on her lap "my mother was pissed like the little cartoon fuming at the ears pissed. She grabbed me by my ear and did the same to T'Challa because he was older and as she'd say "should have known better. T'Challa took the blame saying it had nothing to do with me that he pushed me into the table which wasn't true. Mother knew this of course but she admired that he would lie for me when it wasn't something T'Challa did not even as a kid." Imani smiles. "wow uncle T'Challa seems kind of cool I wish I could have met him" you can see Shuri get teary eyed for a moment "I..." Shuri gasps as she gently taps your thigh causing you to get up and she gently pushes past you and walks into your shared bedroom. "What's wrong with mama?" You and Shuri don't believe in sugar coating anything for him so you tell him "your mother never really took his death well whenever she thinks about it she can only imagine how upset he would have been if he had known just how much she spiraled out of control." Imani nods "I want to make her feel better" you nod "me too what do you think we should do?" Imani hums "I could give her some of my chips and we could give her cuddles they always make me happy." You smile at his innocence and nod.
You both approach you and Shuri's bedroom to see her laying in bed you can hear her sniffling as you open the door. She quickly sits up and wipes her face but Imani is quick to climb the bed and come up to hug her "I'm sorry mama you want a chip?" Shuri smiles and nods. "Sure Imani give me a chip" you can see her eyes tearing up more as she looks at Imani "you would have loved to meet him he was pretty cool." Imani smiles "yeah but my mama is pretty cool too can you not cry anymore? It makes me sad?" Shuri nods "yeah I'm done crying." You climb in bed behind her "good because we both know that death is not the end." She nods as you slip your arms around them both. Right." She mumbles into your neck.
A/n: didn't look over this and wrote this between classes so enjoy.

NEGLECTED (III)
Shuri x GN! Reader
Summary: While Reader is on their way to the party, Shuri gets a talking to and starts to feel regret for her outburst.
Warnings: Angst, AU, shouting
----------------------------------------------
While you were flying with your family to the Avengers Compound, Shuri was continuing her work in her lab. She was, as always, completely drowned in her work. She hadn't payed a seconds attention on her words towards you an hour earlier, and was instead focusing on her new security cameras, when she heard footsteps nearby.
"I told you I didn't-" She stopped her words of anger when she saw T'Challa and Okoye walking into her lab. "Oh, it's you two. For what reason do I owe this little visit?" T'Challa and Okoye looked at Shuri, their faces stern. "Sister, we must talk." Shuri rolled her eyes and said, "Listen, if it's about Y/N, I promise I'll,"
"It is about Y/P, but it is not like our last talks. We saw Y/P leaving with sadness on his face. What did you say," said a serious Okoye. Shuri, with a twinge of fear, said, "I just told them how annoying they are with their constant pestering with these gifts. And most of them aren't even that good!"
"Shuri!" T'Challa said in utter shock and anger. Shuri soon followed up with, "What?! I work so much and so long for my country, and Y/P comes in and distracts me just so they can bring me...these! I swear, if Y/P didn't distract me, I'd be able to get twice as much work done!"
"Enough!" The three looked to the voice to see Queen Ramonda in the hallway them. She walked into their room, dismissed Okoye, and said her piece to Shuri.
"Shuri, words cannot express my disappointment in you. You are usually much more composed, yet now, your words have dealt as much damage to Y/N as any weapon you can or have made." Shuri angrily asked, "How?! What harm comes from telling the truth?!"
Ramonda kept her composure, and simply gestured to the bracelet you had made for Shuri. "Look at that." Shuri responded, "I did. It's subpar, mother-" "No. REALLY look at it." Shuri reluctantly picked up the bracelet, and analysed it again. "Well...the (colour) fabric used for the ring is a nice look, I'll give Y/P that..."
"The (material) beads added on do complement the fabric, and the heart shapes...are quite nice. OK...it's actually pretty good." Ramonda continued, "Good. Now, look at everything else Y/P's brought you." Shuri looked to her workshop, and soon picked up a necklace you made for her. "This necklace...the (material) used in this makes it gorgeous! And I just left it there?!...Because I was...working..."
Ramonda nodded to T'Challa, as they both saw Shuri start to understand.
"This shirt...I always wanted one of those double sleeve shirts, yet when Y/P made me one...I just...dropped it there." Shuri's stomach started feeling really bad. "This...this golden knife. Y/P made me this for self defense...and I threw it there..."
Finally, she grabbed a photo of you and Shuri at a Christmas festival in New York. "I...I loved that festival...Y/P wanted me to remember, and...and..." Soon after she stopped her sentence, tears started pouring down her face, as she chuckled. "I remember Thor had to hold back Loki when I flustered Y/N..."
"They've done all of this for me, and...I said they weren't good...And I...I told Y/P that Y/P annoyed me..." Shuri fell to her knees, the waterfalls falling from her eyes. "Oh, Bast, what have I done...I've broken Y/P heart...over what?! Over some damn piece of technology?!" She furiously stood up and threw many pieces of her work away, nearly hitting T'Challa with one.
"Now you see, Shuri?" Shuri looked up to her mother, and tearfully said, "Yes, mother...I need to find Y/P, and make it up to Y/P!" She quickly checked the security cameras around Wakanda, and didn't see you anywhere. So she reversed the cameras footage until she saw one recorded when you were blasted out of Wakanda by Bifrost.
"Y/P...Y/P left...Then Y/P's either at New Asgard or New York!" Shuri immediately got out of her chair and left her lab, determined to find you.
End of part 3.

𝘽𝙤𝙤𝙠 𝙊𝙣𝙚: 𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙡𝙬𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙩𝙬𝙤
𝙎𝙮𝙣𝙤𝙥𝙨𝙞𝙨: Shuri and m’bali have been best friends since they were babies. They did everything together, and no matter what circumstance, they always had each other's backs. One day changed everything for both of them.
𝗔𝗡: Hi! I'm Jhia just wanted to introduce myself, I'm from Wattpad and decided to bring my stories here. Currently, I write for Shuri and Scotty. If you all have any ideas or pointers feel free to let me know! And I'm always open to new friends so don't be afraid to talk to me
Tumblr media
𝑪𝑯𝑨𝑷𝑻𝑬𝑹 𝑶𝑵𝑬: 𝑳𝑶𝑶𝑺𝑬 𝑬𝑵𝑫𝑺
Sounds of shattering glass and loud haunting footsteps filled the atmosphere. Four siblings huddled together in a guest bathroom, sitting quietly as the torment continued downstairs.
“We have to help her,” M’Bali whispered to her older brother taka, who shook his head and stood near the door.
“She said to stay down,” he said bluntly, eyeing the twins over in the corner, hugging each other for comfort.
M’bali was growing impatient. She couldn't help but pace around as the noises downstairs grew louder. Faintly they could hear a creak coming from the tub where Bali was. She'd punched a hole into the tile wall behind her, eyes glowing a golden hue.
Taka stared at his sister, mouthing the words ‘calm down’ only making her roll her eyes and step away from the area. That's when they heard her.
“I don't have anything for you.” their mother pleaded with whoever was downstairs. Another shattering sound followed her words. Something was thrown, something heavy.
“Where is she, Saa’vani?” suddenly, they heard a woman's voice. Her voice was cold and demanding. Suddenly, all the other noises stopped.
“She isn't here, Valentina. I've told you this.”
“So I'm supposed to believe you don't have your superhuman daughter just wandering around? Do you think I'm an idiot?”
“I don't know what you're talking about.”
It was quiet for a while before anyone spoke again.
“I've allowed you to return to Wakanda or surrender her to us. Instead, you continue to play in my face—your times up, saa’vani.”
“Valentina, have I not been your most valuable scientist? Let my baby go. I've done everything-”
“Everything but surrender her.”
Then there was silence, but this time it was heavy.
“Ndiyathandaza ukuba ufumane uxolo.”
Was what was last heard from their mother before a loud pop erupted, followed by a thud.
“Let's go.”
The footsteps were retreating, and the sound of trucks revving up outside masked the sounds of the crying heard in the bathroom. Taka kept a straight face. Instead, he balled up his fist and pulled open the door, slowly stepping out.
“amawele ayojonga macala onke aqinisekise ukuba akukho mahluko.” he commanded, watching the twins scurry out to check around the house.
M’bali didn't wait for an order. She walked out of the bathroom into the hall to find her mother's office. There was broken glass everywhere. They had trashed their home entirely. Once she reached the door, she touched the cold knob yanking gently, realizing it was still locked, how her mother would have it when she worked. Taking one step back, Bali kicked the door, making it fly across the cold dark room.
“Mommy.” Bali cried, holding her mother close, her clothes slowly drenched in her blood.
“Mommy.” Bali cried, holding her mother close, her clothes slowly drenched in her blood.
The twins noticed lights outside and tugged their brother.
“We have to keep moving, sister.” taka said coldly, reaching down to pull Bali away.
“They’re watching for us. Mom told us what to do. Now we have to do it.”
One of the twins, Asha, finally spoke. “Mommy is with the ancestors now. There is nothing more we can do but run.”
Once the lights disappeared, they ran for it, looking for the keys to the spare car they had hidden in the woods. Once they had found them, they knew exactly where to go.
{5 years prior}
“Shuri, come on! Get out of that damn lab and make your way to the field.” Bali called out to her best friend, taunting her as she worked on a project for her brother.
“You are so annoying.” Shuri laughed, turning away from her work with a big smile plastered across her face. “I'm not sparring with you, Bali. I have to finish my brother's updates.”
“You're always working.” Bali pouted, standing in front of the taller girl.
“You miss me, huh?”
Tumblr media
“Like hell. All you do now is work. I know you're excited about t’challa being back but do not forget your best friend, princess.”
Shuri bit her lip and shook her head. “15 minutes, Bali, then we both need to get back to work.”
The two ran out of the lab past the Dora guarding the door, they could hear them yelling for them, but their laughter was all they got in return. Once they made it to the fields, Bali climbed up in a tree.
“Down Bali! You are not about to attack me from up top.” Shuri chuckled, holding open her arms, and Bali flew down into them, causing them both to crash into the ground in a fit of laughter.
“Did I hurt you?”
“Nah. You're much stronger, though.”
Standing up and grabbing their weapons, the two eyed each other.
“You ready for this ass whooping princess?” with the tap of her beads, a white suit covered Bali’s body, the fur around her neck fluffed out.
“Was the fur necessary?” Bali grumbled, making shuri laugh.
“Yes, you are Jabari, and your father requested you had fur.”
“You listen to my father?”
“Only to an extent.” Shuri got into position. “Did you come to talk or fight?”
“Both.” Bali charged at Shuri and swiped her down to the ground holding the spear to her neck. “Your kinda cute down there.”
The two had gone at it for hours. What was supposed to be fifteen minutes went on until midnight, nothing but fighting and fooling around.
While walking into the palace, Shuri noticed members of the Jabari tribe entering the doors.
“Why are they here?” she spoke quietly. Bali checked her phone to see missed calls from her mother. They walked in and saw a scene.
“I've had enough, Ramonda! She is no threat to Wakanda or your precious t’challa,” saa’vani yelled, holding the hands of her twin girls. “M’baku, you stand there stiff. This is your child too! Do you not care?”
“I do care! All they are saying is there is no use for two-”
“The use of the herb on Bali was illegal, saa’vani.” Ramonda finally spoke. Once she noticed the two teens standing near, she froze.
Saa’vani followed her eyes and turned back. “I did what I did to save my child. Something your people failed to do, and now you're upset she's stronger than your own.” she gave the twins to their brother taka, who led them to a ship, then reached for Bali taking her slender arms into her grip. “Come, M’Bali. We are leaving, taka strap the twins in!”
“Where are we going, momma?” Bali asked, looking back at Shuri, who was held back by her mother.
“Mother, mother, where is she taking her?” Shuri asked, pulling out to her best friend but with no luck.
“Saa’vani, you can not take my children!” m’baku yelled
Saa’vani stayed quiet, pushing her children onto the aircraft and staring at her husband as the doors closed.
Bali ran to the window slapping her hand against it with tears in her eyes. Shuri was finally allowed to break free and ran to the ship, but by the time she'd gotten close, it had taken off.
{present day}
Shuri shot up in her bed, breathing heavily, remembering every moment of the dream she'd just had. Reaching her nightstand, she picked up a picture of her and Bali hugging under a tree, and on the frame, the words ‘abahlobo abagqibelele ngonaphakade’ were carved into it.
“Panther.”
“Yes, griot?”
“King M’baku would like to see you.”
