#shiggy is a plot device

So in regards the leaks and how the general fandom is acting towards Shig and Izu seeing each other memories.
Tumblr media
Like, let's dissect here. One thing is bothering me in lieu how the MHA treats redemption arcs is how the victims have no saying in the redemption of the villain(and BK let's not forget what he really is) the fandom wants to babiefied the villains without facing the real consequences.
Won't talk about PoS here. Let's talk about Shiggy.
Fandom says he is groomed by afo and so...he needs to be saved. I talked to @doodlegirl1998 about this. She proposed the idea of afo suggesting things to Shig which...yeah makes sense.
Brainwash trope: it's a trope where a character acts differently from the norm thanks to external reasons. For the trope to work we need to see how the character is before the brainwash.
What we know about Shig before being Shig.
*He is Tenko.
* He has a fluffy corgi
* His family died .
Shig fandom insists Tenko was this paragon of goodness. We are told that btw never showed. "Tenko helped those two faceless and shapeless kids. He is an angel" and the fandom nods.
What we really see of Tenko is how he was abused bc Hori really couldn't make his backstory a clichê. The SHIMURAS are dead and......no one really care. What they bring to the story?
We don't know how Tenko was, really
Then afo took him in.
He didn't groomed Shig. A groomer (if we go by a non sexual way) would be all the steps of the person's life to mold....afo didn't do that. He see him give a really cruel name to Shig, see the Dr give the hands (I so think they laugh at this) and leave him alone with Kuro.
Not grooming.
But afo could have suggested Shig to use his quirk without care.
Which comes to my point .....Shig chose to continue on this path. Shig chose to attack us, to kill those heroes. It's was on him. Afo doesn't have a hold on him...Shig did himself.
And my point is, Shig can't ever get a redemption action if we don't account the victims.
How the victims and their families would feel about a Shig wanting to redeem himself?
Ok imagine that. Everyone forgive Shig...maybe they all see Baby Tenko and are. Heartbroken by his cuteness ...they forgive him as easily as some Shig simps wanted .....what this means to Shig then?
What he would do with this forgiveness? Would he try to change? Would he care? What the story would be if everyone forgive Baby Tenko?
Also.....
I'm profoundly annoyed how Izu has to see the SHIMURAS being murder, how the fans will see this as "oh no. Poor Shig" (don't get me wrong ...it is horrifying as it is....silly. the entire family is dead. It's lazy) and no one will give a shit about Izu's past, just to not break a pattern. We will see the horrific scene of SHIMURAS being killed...a scene Izu will see as well....and doubt we are going to see Izu's past....and if we do see....
Fandom:😒why we are wasting time on this
Or
Fandom:😁proof Izu will save Shig. Go save Shig.

I just had a funny thought!
You know how everyone likes to call Deku op and whatever? Could you imagine if Shiggy stealing danger sense wasn’t actually planned and Horikoshi was like… “actually I think it’s time to shut some bitches up yet again!”
Actually I think you hit the nail on the head. Danger Sense is a plot device that overcomplicates any battle. For drama to happen, Horikoshi has to neutralize it (I mean, he did exactly that when Toga yoinked Izuku).
The other option is that Danger Sense exists entirely for the purpose of being stolen by Tomura, which means something dramatic will happen precisely because Tomura has it now. Hopefully we find out what that is soon!

Wanna get them off my chest
Few things i wanna talk about here. I'll go point wise
A: Overhaul arc had all the male characters do something epic all while giving us a solid background to their past lives, even the villains like Rappa were given a decent amount of interest. And they fought like crazy. The girls (god i HATE Nejire) were there just to be cute and have girly moments. Their team effort couldn't put up a respectable fight against that giant meat head of a villain despite having a pro hero by their side and their victory was shown off screen. Why were the female characters even there? They're all fap bait material and anyone who says otherwise, you need therapy, help, you need Jesus
B: This is hard for me to say it, but here goes. I have a soft spot for Shigaraki and a few LoV members. But they are as stupid as the heroes because if they'd been a tad bit smarter and actually did some serious digging, they'd be able to figure out about Hawk's true intentions. No chips, no tracking devices, no hidden cameras attatched to his clothes without Hawk's knowing, or anything of that sort despite knowing Hawk's is actually the #2 hero of Japan? I don't run any criminal organization but even my dumb brain can tell me that this is plain stupid. Thanks to the LoV being this gullible enough to allow Hawks to dance, prance and flutter his feathers all over the place, we are in this shit storm now.
C: The villains had Best Jeanist's dead body floating around in their facility, waiting for the right moment to use it and turn it into a nomu. Wouldn't the ''right time'' have been now, during the war? If you need to make both the villains and the heroes equally stupid and irrational, then it's better to take a 3 to 5 months hiatus and rethink about the plot of the series
D: Stars and Strips. Enough Said. Also, i won't be going into details about the latest events of the manga because I have self respect and also because I dont care. Maybe I will once the manga ends.
E: It's ok for both Izu and Mirio to use Eri's quirk but it's not if its the villains who are doing it. Double Standard. Also, Overhaul himself could have used his own quirk and made bullets to sell them off in the back market. He too can destroy and heal at the same time. Sell the healing part of his quirk to the heroes and sell the other quirk of his to the villains. Capture Eraser Head, use artificial drugs to enhance the erase quirk and also sell his quirk in the black market. Problem solved. This whole Eri plot still doesn't sit well with me.
F: MVA is pointless, Shigaraki's growth and achievement and him getting more powers from the crazy doc to become even more stronger because a war was coming, are not worth the the mention because potato ball sac just possess Shigaraki. That poor character is now a nothing ass character. I'm sorry Shiggy hunnie, you're my ultimate anime husbando but I see the reality too and it's twisting my heart, ripping it apart.
G: Don't expect/have high hopes for Deku vs Shigaraki to happen because the manga is busy wetting itself for Bakugou. Hori might not be decent enough to let this happen
H: Who is Izuko Midoriya?!?

Missed Potential in MHA - the underrated members of the League of Villians - specifically Kurogiri, Twice, Mr Compress and Spinner.)
These four specifically are the most redeemable out of the main LOV but they have a lot of missed potential.
Kurogiri
The poor guy became a plot device for Aizawa post his reveal as Shirakumo's corpse when we could have got so much interesting lore / insight into what he feels as an 'intelligent Nomu.'
Canonically, I know he's made from a corpse but this guy in the early seasons with Shigaraki especially seemed to have a personality. Seemed to genuinely care for Shigaraki too.
Why did Hori throw all that out the window to focus on how sad Aizawa was about Shirakumo?
Why can't we have more lore on what makes a Nomu? On what separates a normal Nomu from an intelligent one especially because these guys aren't acting like mindless corpses anymore HORI!
Also Kurogiri's powerlevels have been nerfed so so much it's annoying - you mean to tell me Gran Torino is fast enough to capture him when Kurogiri can teleport? Come on Hori! BS!
Twice
A great character. Honestly love him, he's so sweet and I wish we got more on him because poor guy seemed to have a genuinely good heart but circumstances (poverty, mental illness and an unjustly given criminal record) pushed him into villiany. If any of the LOV he seems more like a villain foil to Uraraka than Toga with the similar poverty side of things... (he seems like what she could have been without her parents support.) It really angered me to see him be shafted so bad post War Arc.
But with how MHA has gone since part of me is kind of glad his story finished there.
Mr Compress
Again a character with a cool concept but Hori never follows through. He's meant to be this Robin Hood-esque villain, to my understanding, who is following in a villianous legacy of stealing from corrupt heroes but... When have we ever seen him do that? And after the War Arc this guy has been shafted so bad he may as well have died with Twice.
Spinner
Holy crap Spinner... Spinner got it bad! First he began as an obsessive fanboy of Stain which is fine, his whole original story is that he was directionless in life and looking for someone to follow - first that was Stain, now that's Shigaraki who he cares for which again fine.
But Hori shoehorns in the mutant discrimination for him when that has never been built up - it comes across extremely forced!
Also he and none of the others have an issue with the Nomu's or using them when they are canonically puppeted people. They also have no issue with committing various acts of terrorism which works against their redeemability.
However it would still be easier to redeem any of these four rather than the main 3 Hori is pushing to redeem IMO (Dabi, Toga and Shiggy.)
All of this. I will say I think Twice is the best written part of MHA tho. However all the other villains you’ve mentioned definitely were an afterthought despite having ties to several of the core themes in the series

To be honest I hate how MHA is going the 'generic shonen' route when it seemed to be so much more than that at the beginning.
Even Izuku now feels hollow as a character because Hori doesn't let him self reflect on his backstory or anything that happened recently.
Shigaraki had excellent set up as the next big villain only for Hori to throw it in the garbage as he and AFO switch it up on him. (what was the point of his development at all?!) Plus the whole idea of Izuku only wanting to save Shiggy because he sees the distressed kid in him is - kind of insulting not gonna lie. Imagine your hero only wanting to save you because you have a crying distressed kid on the inside - not for your own merits.
AFO is a complete joke now. It's embarrassing that he is getting dunked on by students, that he hasn't killed anyone meaningful (yet managed to kill all the OFA holders till AM* more on this point later.) And that he is scared of one of the first year's. You mean to tell me ALL FOR FUCKING ONE the supposed, 200 year old, biggest bad of the series is scared of a first year? And is also getting strange plot device PTSD off Bakugou? Fuck off. Seriously what the fuck is this story turning into. It's so hard to take anything seriously.
OFA holders are also a joke, by reflection of what is happening to AFO, unless AFO's 200 years are catching up to him and he got brain damage during his fight with AM round 2. (*continued point from earlier) The OFA holders (1-7) all died at the same AFO's hand in the series we are seeing at the moment - therefore they were ALL pathetic. All jokes of heroes, vigilantes or whatever, especially true to holders 1 -7 but this even affects AM, because if AFO was this pathetic it shouldn't have taken this long to end him. I wish we got more exploration on these holders too because they had potential but at the moment they're just plot devices (and now sadly pathetic ones.)
I could send through more vent asks if you are interested in reading them, so let me know if you are. I'm just so so angry that this is what the series I am invested in and spent money on is turning into.
Freaking... all of this.
The series had potential to be great. But Hori would rather focus on his worst characters and pleasing the fans than make something of this series.
And yeah I also wish we could've had more backstory on what kind of people the previous holders were before their demise, and how they died.
And yeah AFO definitely overstayed his welcome. He should've died in the Kamino fight.
And poor, poor Izuku... Hopefully at the end of the series he'll finally be able to grow and see that Bakugou isn't all that great and who his true friends are.
And yeah I'm interested in seeing more of your vent asks, including in adding what I think of it.

* Spoiler Talk!*
THE ONLY THING I WILL SAY ABOUT THE NEWEST CHAPTER is I think it would be kinda hot if future adult pro hero Bakugou had half his face scarred. Is that weird? 🙊
(Because ofc he survives everything just fine with all limbs intact so he can meet you and marry you and put babies in you 💜)
Kore oh my god. He’d look so hot but that’s not the point, he’s in pain!🥺😭 and I’m not being funny but I was speaking to Kitten about this and it’s literally always Bakugou. Like he’s always used as a plot device or the one getting hurt (even in the movies), and it’s like Shiggy going for him because he’s close to Deku now? Fuck off mate😤
Nevermind how sexy he’d be with a bionic arm, he better be okay because if not I’ll— well I won’t do anything but I won’t be happy😂😤 his arm better just be broken because I don’t think I can handle Bakugou actually losing half his quirk. I know we’ve talked about that a lot on my blog, but I genuinely think it’ll hurt him so bad and he doesn’t deserve it🥺

You aalready covered dick cage/chastity belt in LoA but would they likely do that more like an endurence between sessions with a looot of discreet teasing? Or is it too close to exhibitionism for Shiggy. Or an aphrodisiac drug/quirk/spell trope which would be endured/fought in agony at the beginning with soft "good job, you endured so long but now you can let it go, you are allowed to" and turning into a horny mess as soon as these words are told... Or the misunderstanding with "he only wanted me because the drug's/quirk's influence; now he will hate me again/even more" + "it was only a pity fuck; he can't look at me and want it himself" while they are both idiots in love. There is really plenty much good directions.
There's a lot going on in this ask! Can you narrow it down to a single kink for me? Do you want teasing? Semi-public sex? Chastity devices? "Blank" made us do it? Having one kink with no other plot details is usually best for me to work with if you want to narrow it down and resubmit!

I just saw a theory saying they think that the things flying towards deku are the reanimated corpses of the previous ofa users just like what happened in naruto, afo had nana's body even after years of their fight since he gave shiggy her hand, so, maybe he also still have the others, what do you think? I'm not so sure if I buy it or not lol
Uhhhhhh I hope not. That feels….really out of nowhere. And I’ll be honest, I don’t know what that would bring to the story.
My issues with that I guess:
There’s no precedent for reanimated corpses like there was in Naruto. Nomufied corpses I guess, but again, they said there were 6 Nomu left so I’d hope that “more Nomu” isn’t the surprise twist, because….who cares. They’re Nomu. AFO fully healing or whatever is going on is a much better (albeit very predictable) twist.
Also, from what I can see there are at least 8 things flying his way, and All Might is still alive. So if it’s 7 animated corpses and one random one then what’s the point?
Lastly, there is zero emotional impact. Listen, look at what happened in Naruto. Living people had to fight the corpses of their dead loved ones and allies. What they saw in front of them was it. They didn’t have another version to turn to, like Deku does in his head.
Deku would be fighting their corpses but he’d still have their vestiges to talk to. So he’s not being plagued with a horrible task of only seeing the reanimated body of a dead comrade. He still has their vestiges, all is well, no big deal.
Also, again, Deku doesn’t know them. He didn’t know them while they were alive, he literally only knows them as dead people. He knows them for their quirks. They’re plot devices at best, not really characters proper. Except Nana and Yoichi (and Yoichi is still kinda a stretch to call a full on character, though I do like him!). So like, okay, two different dead versions of the same barely-characters, whoopdie do.
I feel like it could and should be something way more interesting than that or at the very least something useful, like a way to get Deku back to land faster and in the vicinity with Shigaraki or something. I don’t know.
But I gotta say—the second user’s power still isn’t revealed yet so, who freaking knows what’s gonna happen. I can’t say it’s impossible but I can say my opinion on it if it turns out that’s what they are ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ .
Edit to add on:
Bringing the corpses back in Naruto was an opportunity for a lot of people to get closure. Naruto with his father, and Sasuke with his brother. It served a purpose. I think those circumstances in BNHA belong to Kurogiri and Twice. Twice to fight alongside the LOV one last time (even though it’s Toga technically), and to technically take part in the “redemption” part of the LOV’s arcs, and Kurogiri to help Aizawa see the other side of things and grow alongside the kids, and partake in saving those in desperate need, instead of staying stuck and stagnant with Gran Torino and (seemingly) All Might.
For Shigaraki and Nana, we already know it’s possible for Shigaraki to see Nana in the vestige. So she doesn’t need her corpse reanimated for him to get that closure.

just wondering how come you dislike star? I'm not a big fan of hers or anything i just like to hear your opinions:)
She was a plot device to give ShigarAFO a battle parallel to Deku vs Nagant, but it also felt like a pointless filler, but also making a second waifu to job to a main male character.
My other complaints:
I don't like her over-the-top American design (I acknowledge, it's fully objective and others loved it)
Her power felt incredibly contrived - OP as hell, but also never being good enough when counted
The way she was inserted with no prep, to be an All Might stand-in, but emphasising at every turn how she COULD NEVER be quite as powerful as All Might
She came in to declare Shiggy a global threat so when Deku wins he could become "Greatest Hero" immediately without having to do anything to earn it bit by bit the way All Might and Star did
Even her death wasn't her own. She was just "All Might's ghost in the Vestige world to scare AFO and make Tenko think about Deku (another incredibly contrived jump). Herself, her personality or strength didn't matter - only that she looked basically like All Might.
I think my irritation with the character was also that I wanted pretty much any other story at that point - Class A getting a non-Deku related plot, see the LoV aftermath, maybe get the eyes on some of the other pros. But instead we got a perfectly pointless filler, where D-day was arbirtarily brought closer and all Star achieved was to buy back a few days of the time that was only cut so she could achieve something. She also took out a bunch of quirks we never knew Shiggy had. The only one we know she took is Reflect (which may count for something when it comes to the 2nd's quirk)

do you think that shirakumo will come back to the story? I mean, the kurogiri plotline was not finished and I think that shirakumo (together with mirio, tamaki and shoto) was one of the only people in this series that really felt like a real hero, so maybe if he came back he would keep his memories as kurogiri and try to save shiggy? idk I just want hori to not abandon this plot...
I have no idea what direction Hori might take with him. He’s technically a zombie, so that complicates matters. What does a possible redemption even mean in his case? Fighting the mental blocks? Being liberated from his undead state? I still don’t trust that Hori won’t just rewind him through Eri’s quirk, because that could come off as cheap on many fronts if not done right. But while everyone else has a chance for proper healing, his life is basically split in half and I don’t see an easy way to fix that.
my personal hope is that Kurogiri can be the link that could make Aizawa and the more “redeemable” heroes start seeing the League as still within the heroes’ saving reach. I really hated how Kurogiri was used as a plot device for the heroes to hate the villains more, as if the thing that had killed him and made him prey of human experimentation wasn’t a failure of the hero system itself to protect an high school unexperienced kid. I think there could be room to explore the villains humanity through him. After all, we did get that canon line about how Kurogiri saw Shigaraki as a stray kitten he had to take care of the same way that Shirakumo had adopted Aizawa as a socially awkward stray that he wanted to push out of his shell. But then again, I don’t have much faith that Hori plans on making the heroes more self-aware so I don’t want to set myself up for disappointment

i don’t like how twice died but at the same time if he lived, the heroes would have zero chance at winning. imagine 100s of shigakari copies running around japan? it’s the same way nighteye die that hero’s wouldn’t have the advantage in the fight either. at the end they were plot inconveniences. hawks should tho 100% pay for that tho. which why i think toga biting that bird in her backstory hints that he might die by her hands.
Absolutely! Twice's death IS a plot-advancement device. I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was necessary (because if instead Hawks captured Twice, he would have not been able to fight all the same, same as Kurogiri), but that way the imbalance between the two parties would have been tipped way too much towards the villains, as you just said anon! Furthermore, the narrative had already been set as to contrast only the three main villains (Shiggy, Dabi and Toga) with a counterpart in the heroes, which consequently means that Twice was an 'obstacle' to plot development for Hawks and Toga both (Toga's growth and doubt about society and also the way she relates to Ochako on a background of contrast now, because before Toga craved just to be accepted by people of her age - while she did not pay that much attention to which faction they belonged to, while now she understands the dichotomy of heroes and villains); It's somehow sad, because in my opinion, Twice still remains one of the best characters in BNHA (can't say the same for NE, he was annoying and to be very honest I am glad that Horikoshi decided not to drag his plot further).
However, the bird symbology would actually fit! Thank you for introducing me to it, I actually never thought about it (at the same time, I thought it may actually refer to Tokoyami - being the traitor, but that's for another time) especially because it might make a lot of sense, now that Toga has been long gone (and we don't know where she is). As for Hawks, he should atone for his crime, but I am not sure how healthy it would be in Toga's development to kill Hawks because of revenge. After all, she is the one who asks whether heroes ain't supposed to save everyone (but I see the cathartic experience this might generate for her). It's really up to fate, but I wouldn't be surprised if Horikoshi did a foreshadowing of Hawks' death as early as Toga's backstory. I hope that however, it is things will smooth over, and Twice gets mourned by his friends as he deserves.

Suddenly want to play into the 'this was a dream' idea. I think in a good context it cooould work. Like have stuff dotted around that makes you go wait...that doesn't make sense to be there. But idk.
Essentially I'm writing a fantasy au (that's also a bit steampunk so it's not like typical medieval setting) but part of the plot is All for one was sealed away in various artefacts.
I've made these artefacts as nods to canon stuff though. Some are subtle like a staff (like what Momo often uses I might change it to one of those dolls though) and others are more like a 'strange broken device' that's actual a handheld gaming device (and shiggy has it) or a 'odd green empty bottle' that's actually resembalant of Bakugous small grenades but weapons and tech of that level doesnt exist here. Cause magic and potions. It's close with the steampunk angle bot not quite there.
Now that's divulged into such items being found in ancient ruins that is actually from our modern day society. Much like horizon zero dawn which was a concept I really love tbh.
I'm basically too into writing post apocalyptic shit man.

Can we get the same thing dealing with Uraraka and Momo? People hate on them soooo much and I dont see the reason why. Most of the time its just because they interrupt peoples fave ships, and Ive noticed a lot of the hate they get is from other girls. Like. Though a lot of quieter anime girls get a lot of shit from fandoms, mostly from the girls and with the idea of them interrupting whatever ship they like a lot.
I think... dealing with female characters is very hard in terms of shonen manga. especially for us western fans.
as always this is my opinion on how I see and interpret the manga and anime, you’re free to disagree and hate my interpretation!!!!
number one thing you need to know is that I don’t hate a single female character in bnha. i don’t. my least favorite female character is like... I don’t even know, I like them all really. but when it comes to hating on female characters in shonen manga it’s hard for me to find a true stance.
for us westerners I don’t think we’ll ever be satisfied with female empowerment within shonen unless we have more series like sailor moon honestly. to be honest i’m not well versed in anime and manga, I haven’t like watched more than 5 series and all of them have been popular and mainstream things, so they’re all pretty formulaic in the same way.
strongest male main protagonist, not as strong as main protagonist but can kick his ass still male protagonist, and the female protagonist that’s meant to serve as an equal but is sorely unequal to both her counterparts and will grow to be strong but not that strong but strong — can probably beat up the two protagonist in a playful way but never ever in a serious match.
all things considered from what i’ve seen females are plot devices for one arc and one arc only.
westerns — female fans specifically — want our female characters to be as badass as the men, to be able to go toe to toe, to be loud and obnoxious and still be loved, to be crusty and ugly villains and still be loved. from what I gather people just want female characters to be more than just love devices and hold their own weight and not cry.
we also have to take into consideration that bnha is literally designed for young boys — it is a shonen after all — and while it’s by means no excuse for lack of female character building, this series is meant for young boys to see themselves within these characters. and within our cis heteronormative world that does mean letting these young boys see themselves within these male characters. again, not an excuse, but an insight we do need to take into consideration.
now applying this to bnha we have our main female protagonists within uraraka and momo.
I think that they’re pretty well written all things considered. I know they’ll never be like winry or hawkeye in fma and that’s literally the only anime i’ve seen where the female characters were developed in their own field of expertise in strong ways.
uraraka has been made to be the love interest of izuku, there is no denying it, but I don’t think that’s her only character trait. she’s 16 years old going to a school that people dream of getting into, and is best friends with someone she admires. it’s without a doubt that feelings catch on, but izuku isn’t the one driving her to be a hero.
from episode what 5??? of the anime she states that she’s becoming a hero for her family. she’s becoming a hero so she can use her quirk to help her family and to rescue people. uraraka wants to be a rescue hero (and tbh people often forget that that’s what izuku wanted to be too). she learns a few fighting skills because she experienced first hand that her inability to fight is going to cost her big time. so she thinks “what would izuku do” once gets called out about it from aoyama and suddenly no one can shut up about it.
the entire sports festival battle against bakugou she fucking had him, tbh the fact that bakugou was able to clear the entire air of concrete chunks and only get a 5 second arm cramp is ass. bakugou always says quirks have a limit but that’s the only time we’ve seen him near a limit and it wasn’t even that impactful seeing that he was ready to roll again. but uraraka did THAT!!! she pushed bakugou to the point where she has been the first person to ever really put him at the brink. sure bakugou and izuku go at it many times leaving them bloodied and bruised, but never have they been like: “OMG MY QUIRK IS GONNA BE INEFFECTIVE NOW”
uraraka takes her initiative to do things, and hell if it really bugs you that she’s getting stronger because she wants to be like izuku idk what to tell you. she’s becoming a hero to help her family, and her getting a little side piece along the way isn’t a big deal to me as long as she doesn’t throw her entire life away to save izuku (which she hasn’t). uraraka is a self sufficient queen, she’s dirt poor and is thriving. she’s 16 years old with a crush, that’s not a big deal in my eyes.
now momo is ehhh idk how to explain it. okay, so like, I love momo. but I don’t see her becoming a fighting hero and that’s okay!!!! why do we have to have girls being able to one hit KO other heroes when it’s been made perfectly clear that not all heroes are alleyway boxers. momo is fucking smart, with the ability to create whatever the fuck she wants, sure she can pull gun after gun from her chest and mow down any villain who comes her way — but that’s not who she is. momo is a leader through and through. she is a take none give none, and battling isn’t her expertise but she’s still good at it. momo has scored first in every single UA exam validating her intelligence every time.
if momo becomes a hero similar to todobakudeku, which I severally wish she won’t because that’s not her, I know she’s not going to be the best. her quirk makes her have to be sneaky, smart, and faster thinking than anyone else on the field. I mean look at her fight with tokoyami, her inability to think fast cost her the match really.
to be honest I don’t know much hate on the girls because it’s so stupidly irrelevant to me that I just go “scroll!!!!!”
I do think costumes need to be redone, but like can we also remember that heroes are also superstars in a hero society so looking hot af for popularity is needed. these girls were also 15 years old when they decided on their costumes and idk about you but I would’ve picked a costume that made me look hot as hell!!!! if i’m going to be fighting for living, people best know that I am hot as fuck!!!! besides, these costumes weren’t meant to be fought in outside of training!!!! they should see how their costumes work, how to improve them!!! they have 3 years and even more changes outside of UA to make them the best!!!! uraraka didn’t want her suit to be skin tight, but because the support company took into mind appearance it became tight. momo doesn’t want her costume to be regularly destroyed through her quirk, so she wanted to basically be naked because she thought there was no way to save her clothes!!! I hope hori gives her the ability to make her costume from her hair like mirio did so that way it can phase through her outfit without tearing it into smithereens.
but we also have to remember that female characters don’t have to be like male characters. would I love a female character to be able to best all might, shiggy, todobakudeku??? yeah, what female wouldnt??? but then we’d all have problems with her not being realistic enough and yadda yadda yadda. females not being the best is okay in my eyes as long as they get the proper growth and attention.
undeniably momo and uraraka have been on the back burner but with how the manga is going there hasn’t really been time for them to be on the front, but maybe it’s coming??? idk. I just want another stupid school arc but noooooooooo people hate it when the kids are being kids!!!! why do you want them to suffer all the damn time jfc 😫😫😫
if you want girls to be as strong as the boys I say look at girls like ryuuku neijire mina and miruko, i’m positive these ladies will be your saving grace once japan figures out that mina is amazing and that it’s okay for girls to be on the front lines kicking ass too

Kate's BnHA shitlist
In case there's an important name missing here, it's most likely that they already got what was coming (like, Muscular? what’s up with that weirdo? idk him.) or repented. Otherwise, I just forgot, because honestly? Why think about things I dislike when there's so much else to like instead...
AfO. He knows what he did and is doing and is also enjoying every minute of it. If I wasn't convinced that Tenko, Eri or Inko Midoriya will tear him a new one by the time the story is wrapped up, I'd punch him into the cosmos myself.
The Doctor. Honestly... do I even need to elaborate?! Ujiko is a sick fuck who modded his grandson into a noumu, would have had his way with Shiggy in a heartbeat, and tl;dr he better keep his grimy hands off my half dead gremlin children, and especially Dabi or else (you SEEN how wet this old creep gets over the mere thought of the chimera kid being in lab range??? It sets off like a million red flags, Jesus Christ) (seriously, I wouldn't poke the dude with a 10 yard barbed pole seeped in neurotoxins... thank god there were medics in the mla, I don't want this dude getting near them idiots while incapacitated) He seems to be more of a plot device guy tho, I hope we won't have to look at his mug for too long.
Overhaul. Another bona fide psychopath who also knows what he did in the name of the future of the yakuza. (Did his own adoptive father in and experimented on his granddaughter is what he did, among other things.) Eri better get a chance to disown him face-to-face. Also would love to rearrange that ikemen face myself. One point earned for sick quirk that would be amazing to have in a hospital.
Endeavor. Also knows what he did and has never been nearly as concerned or as mature about it as he should be, so yeah. Opinion is p much the panel of Shouto's visceral disgust when he tries to praise the boyo. He is (and Kotaro to a lesser extent, too) the same breed as my father so he never stood a chance of escaping my ire lmao. Could definitely crawl up and share the No. 3 position of this list with Overhoe, or even dethrone him depending on what Touya has to show us.
Hey, Hawks' manager??? Hope you're stepping on legos first thing in the morning. Detto for the rest of the Commission tbh, this Hawks issue must be the tip of the iceberg.
Then there's whatshisface... Sceptic. Creepy fucker uses psychological warfare. We don't like your kind around here. Fucked up an already unfine lad even more. Fuck you.
Geten is already up here, too. Has yet to do more than talk bullshit and cause collateral damage for the time being, after all. I'm watching you biatch.
ReDestro, your heel turn is funny, but I will still ask: what the fuck.
Kotaro. Cool motive, still abuse. Didn't seem to mean to hit his son with the clipper... definitely should have apologized instead of just screaming stop right after. He's already dead, so whatever.
Himiko's parents are definitely not the best, either... I worry for her siblings, they could be the new targets of their frustration.
Mineta. Just... for being That Trope, personified, with 0 redeeming qualities. (Being friends with someone is not a personality trait, so yeah.) Maybe people are right. Maybe he is the traitor. Would give him more of a personality past whiny perv at least.
Further suspects:
Midoriya Hizashi... the hell you at, bro, and how come you don't keep any contact with your son?! betcha Inko is just covering it up with the ~working abroad~ shit bc the fucker left them...
Mitsuki could be considered as a trash parent for sure, slapping people as a default is... well, that. We have many and much bigger fish to fry, though.
