There is something so important about shoulders. The carry the weight of the world, help lift things that have fallen, and give you a place to lean your head when holding it up becomes to difficult... 😔😔😔😔 Let me tell you about this shoulder. I found myself at a breaking point yesterday. I woke up after an amazing day and nights rest and found myself feeling so heavy. I felt like every stone that has hit me all of a sudden began to ache. I was down, broken, and thought myself inconsolable. Then here came this shoulder... 😌😌😌😌 He often lends it to me in my time of need but this time I didn't even know I needed it. I was crying my eyes out, my every hardship pouring out of me like water and he listened intently, rocked, held, and soothed me until eventually those tears stopped falling. He reassured me of his presence and reminded me that no battle I fight will be fought alone. When I tried to stop my tears he grabbed my hands and said ," let them out , you obviously need it. Its Okay". That simple phrase, IT'S OKAY had more power in that moment than anything I had been carrying. 💘💘💘💘 He is my rock. My friend. My partner. And my shoulder. For that I am both grateful and in awe. His love humbles me on so many levels and I'm amazed that someone like him chose someone like me. 🤗🤗🤗🤗 I'm not perfect but he doesn't ask me to be. I'm not always strong but when I'm not he is. This journey I'm on isn't an easy one but he walks it with me with a certainty in his stride that has been unmatched in my lifetime. Chronic illness is having a great few weeks where you feel "normal" and then finding yourself on all fours crying in pain. *** Chronic illness is celebrating how good your doing and then laying on the bathroom floor asking God to spare you this struggle. *** Chronic illness is starting a new job and then wondering how long you should hide your illness so that they don't feel like hiring you was a mistake. *** Chronic illness is wondering if every good thing you get will have to be offset by struggle and pain simply because universal balance demands it *** I worked 20+ 12hr shifts in a row, traveled, and began a new job that allows my body the rest of needs and the first week found myself calling off due to a flare so bad the pain alone had me vomiting, and shaking unable to move, sleep, or think. An emergency trip to the hospital for treatment resulted in once again having a standing weekly appointment for treatment before work and yet another daily medication being added. THIS IS CHRONIC ILLNESS! THIS IS MY LIFE! *** I won't let it beat me. I won't let it stop me. I won't allow it to snatch my good moments or the joy I feel on my good days. This story is far from over because I know I can learn to live WITH these conditions not INSPITE of them! *** The moral of this story is no struggle is too big. No fight too tough. If you have a dream and plan for your life push for it no matter what life throws at you. Everyday won't be easy but simply doing what you can and forgiving yourself for the rest is all that matters. Today is whatever you make it in your mind, so CHOOSE gratitude. CHOOSE to fight.
