I feel bad for @naegamimonth​ right now because I’ve been doing nothing but a shit ton of Naegami Month posts on my art blog. At least this is the last post for day 16... jfc I made so much for this day...

This is just fashion AU, it was inspired by that non-despair AU were the DR2 cast are scene kids(along with maybe Junko & Mukuro), Izuru is punk goth & DR1 cast are pastel goths in the early 2000s. Like I said(because I don’t know how to say shit) this is inspired by it but instead of the 2 casts being scene kids & pastel goths they have their own styles.

Byakuya is a hipster that loves to take selfies with his boyfriend & later their babies when the twins eventually come in. Makoto is a pastel goth still but looks kind of different from the version from the scenekids/pastel goths AU. Because this isn’t in color I couldn’t show that he has a galaxy textured hoodie jacket on.(Then again I can’t make galaxy textures very well anyway) He also has a bunny on his choker because for some reason I keep giving him Usami imagery sometimes. His sneakers are pastel green with eye balls on them... I use this to much on character designs that are pastel goths.

Honestly wasn’t sure how to dress Byakuya & this probably wasn’t what I was thinking of when I did fashion AU RPs. I dunno how to make hipster designs so I was Googling shit & searching on DA. Why did I give him a hat?

This comes from my favorite game series Harvest Moon(the official games are now Story of Seasons since the creators left the people with the rights to call it Harvest Moon), Makoto is dressed in the default clothes for the girl in my favorite game of the HM series Animal Parade. It’s a really nice game & I’m also a little obsessed with the wizard in this game... The only thing missing is a port/remake for the Switch... But enough with my rambling that I had to delete because it’s off topic.(It’s just rambling about my love for HMAP & why the remake of Friends of Mineral Town while good scares me on if AP got a remake because I worry they’ll edit things they shouldn’t in that game too)

So anyway Makoto is doing farm work when Usami comes over with a letter from Makoto’s boyfriend. Usami is taking Finn’s(the Harvest Sprite meant to be your guide in the game) role in this which given she’s meant to be both a magic girl bunny & a teacher is adorably perfect.as she can give advice to Makoto & enjoy their adventures around Harmonica Town & so on.

Interestingly Gill reminds me some of Byakuya but he technically is more friendly than Byakuya. Both kind of had to grow up earl as kids but for Gill it’s because the death of his mom hit his family pretty bad while Byakuya’s is from whatever shit his terrible dad did to his family. Both are also blond with blue eyes, weirdly enough Gill when he’s dressed in his sweater vest instead of his white suit vest looks a little like how I use to dress Len.

Another random thing is that this is the only HM/SoS game I know of were once you get married(to the main candidates not the special ones sadly) you get a free ticket to the island you unlock at some point. Using the ticket while with your now spouse will lead to getting a Honey Moon cutscene.(I haven’t gotten to the marriage yet & the only LP I’ve seen of this game had the guy marry Witch so I dunno how the cutscene for the honeymoon looks.(I saw the cutscene once but due to my weird memory I remember very little)

What I’m failing to get at is Byakuya & Makoto enjoying their honeymoon on the island. Cuddling together as the sea comes up the sand & touches their feet as they sit near the water. Makoto likely has a seashell from the trip on a shelf.

I kind of made Usami a human/Harvest Sprite form for this. I gave her Chiaki’s haircut because often times Chiaki is shown with her.(Even shown holding her in the final(I think) episode of DR3 were Hinata is likely imagining her while on his way back to the island with everyone)

I’m not as interested in DR2 as I am in DR1 but Usami/Monomi is probably my favorite character. I also keep showing an edited(because her design’s details kill me, they’re to much to draw) version of her as a plushie my kind of OC Asumi has a security blanket.(I’ll explain Asumi one day)

I’m getting more and more into Hazbin Hotel as we speak, and though I agree Vivziepop’s art style is... largely challenging to say the least, I don’t get the fad of redesigning the characters completely without the unusual anachronisms and somewhat 2005 era emo/goth influences.

With Alastor I don’t mind at all that the hairdo is like scenekid bob cut. I like the illusion of deer ears, maybe they could emote even more like actual ears. His silhouette is also super strong, tho I do wonder about his outfit just a bit. His coat has more of Victorian English cut to it, same with the bowtie and the monocle... but the tails of that coat are so /Vivzie/

I would personally tweak only minor things. The monocle annoys me, because a proper, expensive monocle is made to fit perfectly between your eye and your cheekbone.The way it just floats around his oversized eye never stops bothering me. If she wanted that kinda glasses low on your eye line, pince-nez would have been better choice... but neither monocle nor pince-nez are very 1930′s. Maybe I would just actually remove it from his permanent look, and have him take it out from chest pocket when he needs to read, as you would most likely do with monocle anyway.

But you know, anachronism itself don’t bother me that much. It gives you the idea that once in hell your taste and style starts blend into this “hell aesthetic” that’s like a malformed and melted earth fashions. And like, to use Alastor as an example again, it’s not entirely out of the possibility for him to prefer Edwardian/late Victorian, cos though he died in the 30′s he sure did live through those periods too. Maybe I would take the bowtie out and give him a 30′s tie and also button up his coat in an American 30′s contemporary way and that would immediately improve the overall aesthetic.

But otherwise, even if I have some critiques about the art, the best thing about Hazbin Hotel is that is so unapologetically Vivzie. It’s as recognizable as hers as Tim Burton even if they share some of the same elements. Why would you want it to change into something completely different?

But yeah she has a secret soft spot for swing that she keeps a secret so as to look less geeky (really cares about her image cuz she wants people to think she’s cool so they’ll be her friend and not abandon her ksjdhfsjkhf-)

She can get kinda wild and would honestly be one of those people to set bonfires up on the beach (if it’s legal cuz Pearl and the Diamonds ain’t havin none of that) right when summer break starts and just burn all the homework she’s stashed from the entire year she is dedicated yes

Human!Scene!Spinel is just as somewhat clingy and depressed as we all know her to be. She’s had her bestie leave her in the past and doesn’t want to feel the same pain, so she tries to put up a cool act so people will think she’s cool enough to stay their friend forever and ever. She really doesn’t even need to cuz all the people in her life just??? really care about her but she’s just so used to bein this punk girl that it’s just kinda who she is now???

She says she wouldn’t be caught dead in a skirt. But honestly deep down she just thinks she’d look terrible in one and thinks it’d kinda muddy her image

Kanisa- The first idea I had with my FIRST troll was “wolf troll wOLF TROLL WOLF TROLL” ...but she’s grown into more than JUST wolf troll though the wolf symbolisms are still at the forefront.

 Rivera- The first idea for her was an unhinged purple with a deep dark fixation for Kanisa... She’s still kinda unhinged but she’s softened out over the years.

Wyllow- Honestly I can’t remember what my first idea was for her.. I think it was shy olive who had a spooky side what with her loving supernatural shit..She still kinda does embody that idea but the gardening and plant stuff is more at the forefront now

Keyser- Token guy troll..made to be Kani’s moirail who Fuckin’ Dies.. Now he’s blossomed into his own character thanks to the ftc!

Vierya- Flamboyant fabulous fish... And he embodies that in spades with a side of THOT..

Aether- Cult Leader clown who owns a club.. Now he’s a clown mobster.. a Clobster..who owns a club

Darian- Bartender who don’t tell lies.. Now he’s a bartender who also is a theatre nerd :>

Vikora- Snake man... Still snake man but now with more complex feelings

Seaell- Fish CL but with an Agenda.. Now with a new timeline she doesn’t have her agenda anymore

Kaycie- I wanted a gold..and was listening to dubstep and synthwave so she became my DJ troll.. SHe’s still a dj troll but NOOOWW she’s a total gremlin

Floret- Exciteable bastard cannibal... He hasn’t changed

Adrian & Bawxie- I wanted a cybergoth and scenekid troll..they came as a duo..

Nyxxia- I wanted another snake troll because at the time Vikora lost his legs and also I wanted a jade.. all that’s changed is she’s grown to be a prominent rebellion figure who runs an underground cavern within the cavern, caring for mutants and sending them to abandoned alternian cities to live

Alarra- I wanted another jade..but a normal jade.. SHe runs the normal part of the caverns..

Overall except for Kani, Wyllow, Rivi, and (for the most part) Keysery, everyone else hasn’t had time to develop yet so their first ideas are still what they embody

5. Do they have a particular style?

The fab four all have pretty distinct styles in my mind. You’ve of course got my Polar Opposite to Soph’s Iconic Goth Party Poison with my scenekid Poison, very very pure 2005 myspace energy channelled straight through him. Lots of just. Neon and tacky prints and studs. My Kobra is somewhere between like. annoying uk roadman style and proper grunge so a lot of windbreakers and torn shit that looks like it hasn’t been washed in way way too long. Jet likes the traditional rocker look, he owns a lot of leather jackets and aviators, and is also more often than not wearing two or three very worn jumpers at any one time. Ghoul is traditionally punk, with the big boots, chains, pins and torn black clothes look.

Glory is entirely customised outfits - she has safety pins upon safety pins, her boots that Grenade painted for her and her trench coat that’s entirely embroidered with tiny forget-me-nots. Grenade’s look varies pretty widely but they mostly just value the drama of an outfit - they’ll wear anything from all leather to the floatiest lace dresses, but they are inclined to a good pair of boots and cargo pants.

6. Any absurd fashion choices?

All Poison does is absurd! The guy will wear anything, the weirder the better. That said, his all tend to be in the name of fashion - he made a crown out of some sticks once and hung little plastic Hello Kitty dolls all over his head, which looked ridiculous and was so impractical, but it did match his look. In terms of the person with the most absurd outfit coordination, Jet definitely wins - its not that he doesn’t care, its just that if he likes all the items of clothing individually he doesn’t really understand why they wont look even better together.

Of Glory and Grenade Grenade probably wears the weirder fashion - they have this “outfit” that’s really just a length of relatively thin red fabric that they wrap around their torso a few times. It’s not that shocking an outfit to see in the zones, but it certainly doesn’t so them any favours in a firefight.

7. What’s their favourite article of clothing?

Kobra, of course, owns a bucket hat. Its super tacky and annoys the shit out of Ghoul on the basis on just how Ugly it is - its got this like marbled pattern with various greens blues and yellows on it, and although Kobra’s love for thing may stem hugely from their desire to piss off their friend, they does also love it as a way of covering their face from the sun. Poison has a pair of red latex boots, with the stupid high block-y heels and all. Jet has this blue jumper with a huge tiger face embroidered in the front, and it is in his opinion the comfiest of his collection (Ghoul thinks its just really itchy). It may sound insignificant, but Ghoul’s favourite item of clothing are the pairs of socks he rotates around - there’s nothing special about them, they’re just socks, but when you’ve got sensory processing disorder like Ghoul has finding a pack of really soft cotton socks can be a real blessing.

The Girl loves her belt! Jet made it for her, carefully gluing and bolting down all the bottle caps himself. Although all her clothes since coming to the Zones have been gifts, this was the first thing she was ever really given, as a sort of offering from Jet, trying to show her that she was safe and cared about. 

Glory’s favourite item of clothing is her jacket. The little embroidered flowers took her years of work to complete all over, and it has huge pockets that she can put all the trinkets she collects in. Grenade’s favourite item of clothing is any of their jewellery - they have a ring on every finger, at least three necklaces on at any one time and many facial piercings. Nearly all their jewellery has some meaning behind it, every piece special and treasured.

9. Do they have a weapon of choice? If so, what is it?

The Witch rarely actually has to fight anyone, and even then never has to use an actual weapon with the power she has. She does have one though, from before she held the power she does. She only ever had to use it a handful of times, before retiring it to the back of the little home she keeps outside of Zone 6. Behind her huge and overflowing bookshelf, leaning carefully against the wall is a Katana, with huge green gems in the handle and barely even a scratch on it.

35 facts about velvet!

velvet welch is, if you haven’t guessed, not japanese! wow, surprising, i know. they were born in the united states, and moved to tokyo about a year and a half ago. they’re of white, syrian, and libyan descent— mostly syrian, though, although i don’t have the exact percentages figured out. 

their family is christian— southern baptist, specifically.  velvet is not, even though they were raised baptist. however, they are extremely spiritual. 

(velvet welch isn’t their birth name btw, but it is the name they have listed on all of their official japanese papers. they’d really prefer if you don’t try to pry and figure out what their dead name is.)

fun fact: i got their name from an old 90s instructional video teaching old people how to use the internet. i’m not joking. this was yuro’s idea.

they’re from myrtle beach, south carolina! as the name suggests, it’s a beach town. and as that implies, they love the ocean? it’s like home to them. i could go on and on with this fact alone because i may or may not have been self indulgent and plopped them in a city i’ve visited multiple times a year for like, the past ten years of my life, but. 

velvet’s family consists of their parents and their eleven-year-old sister, rachel! she really looks up to them, and they used to babysit her when she was younger. they’re really good with kids, which is surprising for a lex character.

velvet makes friendship bracelets when they’re bored, anxious, or trying to relax. it’s something they picked up when they were fourteen— their sister wanted to try it out, and velvet (as her babysitter) ended up getting into it as well. she eventually grew out of it (after like, a couple months), but velvet still enjoys it. they usually wear a bunch of bracelets, and will carry around half-finished ones. it calms them down. they will make bracelets for your oc. 

this is the important one, guys: they have a pet cockatoo. she’s going into the game with them because she’s kind of a handful and they didn’t feel right leaving her with their flatmates. her name is felt. she’s basically a small child and velvet adores her. good birb. 

oh yeah, they’re sharing an apartment with some friends, i may or may not make a separate post about them at a later date. 

they love animals in general (and i mean looooooove), and have always grown up around them. their parents have two dogs, their other friends have a bunch of cats, they had a hamster growing up, and they’d really like getting more pets in the future once they have a bigger living space.

velvet is a huge furry, and their fursona is a goat! one of these days i’ll draw it. also hashtag kinfeels. this is why you’ll see me calling them the goat kid a lot, btw. 

their first job was working at a candy store! they love sugar tbh. they’re especially fond of things like sour gummi worms and ring pops, but they like most sweets in general.

they also really love soft serve ice cream! like, a lot. there’s a place on the boardwalk that boasts over 100 flavors of soft serve, and it’s their aesthetic. they especially like chocolate soft serve dipped in a cherry shell!

they’re a capricorn! i’m planning on filling out a natal chart for them soon. i associate them with the hierophant card, followed by the devil, the high priestess, and the star! 

they fucking love cool ass rocks. they’re also a steven universe fan. i think their favorite rocks are bismuth, any kind of quartz (especially aura quartzes), opal, and amethyst? i have no idea what their gemsona is yet.

they have four piercings— both ears, a septum, and a medusa! they’ve considered getting more. if they were to get more, they’d probably want a bridge piercing, a labret (maybe? that or snake bites, but not both), and/or probably some extra ear piercings. not sure if they’d go for an industrial bar there but [shrugs]

they've recently been trying to learn how to cook, with varying degrees of success. they’re not bad just..... still in the process of learning. and they’re fairly forgetful

[ear trauma implied?] velvet suffers hearing loss in their left ear and wears a hearing aid! 

they love glitter. especially in their makeup. they’re also the kind of person that’ll wear cute little stickers on their face for fun. they also like rainbow sprinkles and confetti

they follow a bunch of stimming accounts on instagram? they’ve made slime for themself before, and really like that kind of stuff in general. they like slime and frosting stuff more than kinetic sand and paints, though.

they also have the food fortunes deck but that one isn’t an actual tarot deck. it was a holiday gift

their hogwarts house is hufflepuff, and their god tier is the seer of light! yeah, they’re rose lalonde. they’re also an ESFP, a chaotic good, sanguine, and enneagram 2w3 (the giver)! they’re right-handed, type B blood, and yes i’m throwing all of the cheap facts together in one slot.

they know english and japanese! their japanese isn’t perfect, and sometimes they don’t make sense, but they’re trying. they also know ASL, but don’t practice it often, so they’re not that great at it. 

i feel like their handwriting would be similar to the woodlands? in english, they write in cursive! 

they love sweet tea. i don’t get it. i live in the south and i fucking hate sweet tea. but, in general, tea is their drink of choice? whether its iced or hot! herbal teas are super nice too, but you gotta be in the right mood for them, y’know? otherwise, they like strawberry lemonade.

i mentioned this in my earlier post, but they currently live in ikebukuro! they love the city aesthetic, almost as much as they love the boardwalk aesthetic. 

they’re also a huge fan of like.... idk how to describe it but? they like kitschy cheap tourist-trap souvenir shops with bright neon hoodies advertising the city (side note— they fucking hate that tan / pale blue “life is better at the beach” style of home decor. hate it. their parents love it.). on this note, the gay dolphin. it’s legendary. truly a landmark in myrtle beach. 

and they like... i don’t know how to describe this flavor of psychic advertisement. they also really love miss cleo commercials. because i love miss cleo. they also binge watch old 90s commercials sometimes. because i binge watch old 90s commercials sometimes. they also like that old VHS tape aesthetic. and neons. 

they prefer animated movies and tv shows tbh, and cry over them a lot. their favorite movies include howl’s moving castle, song of the sea, zootopia, and bee movie finding nemo? all animation is good tho. they also really love pokemon!

they’re kinda lowkey goth. on the inside. they went through a (closeted, as best as they could do when their parents would kill them if they get scenekid hair) scene phase when they were younger (it was kind of embarrassing in hindsight), and a lot of their friends are goth, so they still really appreciate the subculture, even if their everyday style is more colorful and floral and obnoxiously neon at times. on occasion, they’ll get dressed up in something trad, but...

they absolutely hate feeling stuffy and restricted in their clothes— you’d be hard pressed to catch them dead in a button-up shirt and trousers and a sportcoat. not happening unless the suit is bright pink or otherwise fun. 

they keep a dream journal! i hate that this became a popular meme.

they’re gay  (...pansexual and very polyamorous, to be exact, and prone to getting crushes on their friends and being super affectionate in general but. gay)

Thursday 20:00, DIY Space For London, London 19/1/17

Shopping are a three-piece post- punk band based in Glasgee. [Following Some careful accent monitoring I have decided that none of them are actually Scottish. I don’t think this changes anything though, so that’s fine, just another southern band in the the city- state scene]

Having travelled all the way from the west country for this gig AND braved walking for ten minutes on my lonesome through a labyrinthine south London council estate to get to the venue, I was frankly expecting nothing less than perfection from ‘DIY space for London’ and the entire evening ahead. This ‘space’, I soon found, was a hipster haven in the heart of the #endz. Everyone kind of looked the same but not really- all the men had ginger handlebar moustaches and the women were all freakishly clean looking, all no makeup and alpaca cardigans. Also the toilets were unisex… it was that kind of jam.

Things didn’t go entirely to plan as I ended up missing the first band Shecket, who I was really excited about seeing after listening to their EP online. Another time, perhaps. Next up were Pinkgrip, also a new band to the #SCENE (coincidentally #scenekid was also their #aesthetic). Pinkgrip were as fucking gnarly and snarly as it gets, with the singer using her darth vader inside voice to shout loads of angry things like ‘I’M A LITTLE BUG’ at a million miles an hour. Whether this was intended to be deeply ironic or not, it was incredibly entertaining. Pair this with a saxophone, drums, bass and guitar and you’ve got a pretty solid punk band. Slightly disappointing finale however, in that the band covered ‘God Save The Queen’ (Sex Pistols version, obviously) and forgot half the lyrics [/riffs../chords../even the saxophonist refused to join in on this one]. Just as I was beginning to wonder whose idea it was to end the set in this way, the guitarist burst in to rockstar solo mode and started playing his instrument behind his head with his eyes closed. Busted.

After another band who we will not mention for their own sakes, it was time for the main event: SHOPPING.

I had my vegan lemonade in hand and I was ready to dance the night away. This was it. Four bars in and I had already decided that Rachel Aggs was the best guitarist I had ever seen. I didn’t care that she would only play sequences of the same five notes for the next hour, that was irrelevant, everything was irrelevant, my journey was worth it, the band sounded even better live and this, I realised, was all I could have asked for. Shopping were in another dimension to the unnamed band before them, another universe a gazillion lightyears away. The members’ interactions with one another on stage were fluid. Billy played the bass like it was an extension of her body and Andrew made singing/ talking/+ drumming look like a piece of piss and not at all as painful as had been suggested by the previous band. ‘Straight Lines’ was a standout tune for sure and had me marvelling at Rachel’s guitar playing for the nth time. How does she get away with not playing chords? How do they sound so good? Why are they so likeable? Why do they live in Scotland? Where did I even hear that they live in Scotland? 

Though they played what felt like the whole of ‘Why Choose’ apart from faves ‘Wind Up’ and ‘12345′, Shopping also managed to fit in some new bangers from their forthcoming album. This left the hipsters hip hopping all over the shop. A great atmosphere and a superb gig.

Who knew all it took was a simple riff, leaping bass and some spikey vocals? And no, we will never be sick of ‘Wind Up’, thank you.
