I dont think any of them would be opposed to the idea but I think the ones who are more likely to actually get a tattoo would be Aizawa and Aki.

I can see Aizawa with some sleeves and hand tatts 🤤 and some piercings as well. I can see Aki getting just a few on his arms. I think he’d stick to black and grey and get more flash tatts than murals and stuff. I can see him getting one of a chainsaw and little red horns for Denji and Powy ;w; And I think Aki would look nice with the snake tattoo and he would have a few scattered around his arms like in the second pic (but idk about any of those specific tattoos though. Just the general look) :

I’ve seen a few fanarts of Nanami with a Yakuza dragon style tattoo on his back! I think he looks sexy like that but I personally don’t think Nanami would ever really get a tattoo like that lol. Maybe something super small too. Like if he wanted to match with his partner and get a super small one on his wrist. The fanart I’ve seen based his back tattoo off another character he shares the same Japanese VA with (Tatsu from Way of the Househusband):

I got a Junji Ito tattoo! It’s of the smoke swirl in Uzumaki and looks like the spiral on the elbow but instead I got it swirling around my shoulder/bicep. (I tried to get a good pic of it but I couldn’t get a good angle of it lmao without someone else’s help)

I assume fandom as in spaces online what I participate in or visit, because there are many things that I enjoy but whose fandoms I don't interact with. That specially applies to music. My social battery can only last so long.

Anime/Manga

Despite how my art looks like, I’m very drawn to shows that are colorful, endearing, and dynamic. I want fluff, friendship, sparkles, no major world-altering conflict, just overall characters having a good time and creating impactful relationships amongst each other. I love wholesome happy endings, which is great for my soft heart. I know JJBA doesnt fit that category but it’s outlandish enough to make it a lot of fun. I have a soft spot for Vento Aureo in particular.

Now, I open an exception for Junji Ito. I love inhuman horror, where the threat can't be understood nor controlled. Amazing artstyle aswell.

Books

Dostoievski, Bulgakov, Tchekov

Rip dostoievski, you would have loved Mob Psycho 100. I feel like he would really appreciate a story centered around a character discovering themselves and how to approach their own feelings and the world and people that surround him. I know russian literature has a reputation of being heavy to intrepret and digest. It tackles complicated themes, yes. However, it does that in relatable, heartfelt, and oftentimes comedic way.

On a personal note, some works will be especially funny if you’re queer. As a queer person myself I intrepret A LOT of russian lit characters as being gay, messy, and unhinged. I say that as the highest of compliments. The people in the fandoms I'm in also agree

Dostoiesvki; Crime and Punishment, The Brothers Karamazov, The Idiot. Sad, unhinged men, powerful beautiful women, crimes.

Bulgakov; Master and Margarita!!! Bisexual criminals hanging out with the devil

Tchekov: Short stories, I especially love Ward Nº 6.

Games

I have no shame in admitting I want easy to play games. I already challenge myself with art daily, I don’t care about challenging myself in hobbies.

So I like a lot of visual novel/dating sims. I really liked The Arcana. My fave is, unfortunately, Lucio. I love mess! Love his looks and his horrible little attitude. I want a Valdemar tale. Currently, I’m also up to date with Last Legacy from the fictif app. I started Felix’s route (same with Julian from The Arcana, I went for the edgy emo one) but ended up picking Sage as a favorite. Like I said, I love mess! am currently waiting for a rime route idc if he tried to murder me

I really like Outlast as well, and have watched many, many playthroughs. Of both games. I've read the comics. Currently dormant in that fandom, but I am waiting for the new game to come out.

Youtube

I love fun and I love informative. If it's both, then it's for me. I might binge watch something from time to time, but the ones above are people whose content I've been coming back to for years.

Puppet History- A project with Shane Madej and Ryan Bergara, but without buzzfeed. I love history, I love puppets, I love songs.

How to Cook That- Ann Reardon my beloved! She debunks hacks, shows how to actually make them work, saves cakes, makes gorgeous food. Very clever, very wholesome (i stan dave). I also never miss a video

Jaboody Show- Not quite youtubers. They often upload their twitch streams on youtube. I don't watch them all tho. I always think 'i'll just watch 30 min of this 6 hour video' and end up watching the whole thing because they're so fun. Great to listen while working

Utsu-P - Not a youtuber, but a musician. A vocaloid producer, to be exact. Also never miss an upload. Moksha is my fave album and Unique is at close second.

Music

Speaking of Unhhh, I love the music Trixie Mattel (Brian Firkus) puts out. Yellow Cloud, and Gold always make me happy I’m alive. I don't belong to any fandom, however. I don’t stay inside genres either, I go after music for the emotions they bring in me. I spent the last few days listening to Crazier by Taylor Swift, the song she performed in the Hannah Montana movie shdjksahdjk. Some weeks prior it was Baba Yaga by Slaughter to Prevail. I have clear memories of listening to the Cheetah Girls while doing character design, too. Sometimes I listen to 20 minute videos that have snippets of a bunch of pop music from a certain year, when I need to keep up the energy. I'm the type that loves a band but doesn't even know the main singer's name. Which is great, cuz music fandoms look WILD. I'm peacefully enjoying things.

What a very long post! But this is basically it. Also shout out to 90 Day Fiance, that I keep up with because I always watch it with my mom. It's our thing. I'm in that fandom aswell cuz I love the chaos and telling my mom gossip.

Note: Ten favorite monsters, part four. Part three. Once a month sounds good for a top ten list, yeah? Only it’s hard for me to actually rank cool monsters. Cuphead has an absurd amount of great character designs. I’ve decided to limit one Disney entry per monster list. Oh, and it was hard to get a good photo of the Time Dragon. This one doesn’t show his horns, multi-story theatre, or the mob of Munchkinlanders. 

1. Aylmer from Brain Damage

Vaguely phallic… brain eating parasite drug metaphor.

2. Two-Mouthed Wall from Cuphead

Architectural monsters are a fave of mine in their own right. (See Baba Yaga’s house.) Bonus points for being part of a funhouse and letting his friends drive through him.

3. nuts from Face Like a Frog

This is one of my favorite cartoon shorts. It came out before Rugrats, but its music and deranged animation reminds me of my childhood fave, only more surreal. And Face Like a Frog’s surreality is easily explained: the house is occupied by nuts.

4. Planet Remina from Hellstar Remina

Look, I’m headcanoning this planet as a lady. Because there needs to be more female eldritch abomination representation. Also, she has a pretty name. Like, yeah, she was named after the daughter of the male astronomer who discovered her. Anyway, like Junji Ito manga in general, it’s better just to see for yourself how horrifying the antagonist is.

5. siren from Martin Mystery

They opted to make her whole body more avian, so there’s a mass of feathers covering her mammaries. (If she even has those in her true form.) The addition of a beak is another feature I like. Also, the reptilian tail is a nice “ancient” touch.

6-8. werewolves

Ginger Snaps trilogy: If you want interesting female-led horror, watch the first two films. Unleashed is one of the best horror films ever just for the characters’ multilayered moralities.  

Hemlock Grove: The dialogue is so odd. But it contains one of the best gruesome transformations. And male nudity.

Teen Wolf: You’d think I wouldn’t like a series where most werewolves can’t fully transform into a wolf. Or the fact they’re vaguely cat-like, with roaring and retractable claws. The Alpha-Beta-Omega hierarchy is clearly (wolf)man-made, but still fun. A supernatural drama that doesn’t take itself too seriously is a beautiful thing. Maybe I should add the Chimeras to another list, because I love “mix-and-match” monstrous humans.

9. Clock of the Time Dragon from the Wicked Years

Clockpunk meets puppet theatre and dark fantasy.

10. Heffalumps from Winnie the Pooh

The spooky ones from “Heffalumps and Woozles” as well as Lumpy and co. The Hundred Acre Woods has cute living stuffed animals.

Note: I didn’t realize Remina’s eye was so yonic. XD Clawdeen Wolf is a runner-up for werewolves because she’s a hairy-legged fashionista. Expect more wereanimals on future lists.

10 – Percy Jackson

A books series I loved as a preteen, and I loved the main character. It’s been a while since I read, so it’s not so easy to organize my toughts and feelings about the character to tellwhat I loved about him, but maybe I’ll do it in the future

9 – Nie Huaisang (Mo Dao Zu Shi)

If I remeber correctly, the very first thing WWX told us about NHS in the novel was that he was inteligente/wasn’t stupid (it was a scene where someone was telling WWX about the repuation of the Sect Leader Nie as the Headshaker, so WWX’s inner monologue was a response to that). Then, in WWX’s memories of Cloud Recess, we see NHS plotting to cheat in the exams and convincing WWX of doing the work for him. One of the very few changes/additions in the live action I actually liked was that scene where he and WWX first met and he talks about how he captured that bird. The reveal in the ending wasn’t really obvious or expected, at least not to me, but it’s not like it came from nowhere either. Teenage NHS already had some of the personality traits that would be “revealed” later on, but not the motivation of doing anything great with this.

8 – Tomie

From the works of Junji Ito. I find her fascinating as a character and as a concept. First of all, she is a chaotic villain, is simply entertaining to read about her, so I woud like the character even if it didn’t go any further. But there’s something deeper that fascinates me about her, that I won’t go into Much detail now, because I intend to write a separated post with my Tomie essay. But there’s something about how the stories lay out and how inevitable it Always feels, not Only to Tomie’s victims, but to Tomie herself.

7 - Sans (Undertale)

This character got a bad reputation due to horny fans in the peak of the game’s popularity. Even so, I love him in the game. The mistery, his personality, his judgments. I love howthe reason why the possibly most powerful character in the game has a painfully beliavable reason to not act in his full potential. How pointless everything seems to him, how hopeless he must feel. That “just give up. I did” line in the pacifista route. And also his monologue in the genocide route battle about the player’s motivation to keep playing the genocide route “...because you think you ca. And because you ‘can’, you ‘have to’”

6 – Sal Fisher (Sally Face)

I loved this game and Episode Four broke me. Sal was such a likeable character, he Always made my heart warm, and his friendhip with Larry was so sweet.

5 – Luo Qingyang (Mo Dao Zu Shi)

One of the things that annoy me the most about the live action i show they LQY so Much she could as well be an original character. She was such a great character in the novel, despite having so few scenes. I already made a post about how she was a narrative parallel to WWX and WJL. She was amazing and had one of the better endings/lifes in the story. Good for her.

4 - Lelouch Lamperouge/Lelouch vi Britannia (Code Geass)

My personal history of problematic faves goes far. I remember how many nights I spent comparing him to Light Yagami, trying to understand why I loved Lelouch so Much while I hated Light so much When both characters are so similar. And I remeber how frustrating it was to try to find someone analysing/comparing this characters, because I could Only find debates about who’s smarter, wich is not importante. Was Lelouch right? Did he had the right to do the things he did? Not really, but he had a better understanding of humanity than Light, and actually tough about the causes ofthe violence, instead of only repressing the symptons. He was an interesting character with a lot of emotion.

3 – Okumura Rin (Ao no Exorcist)

He was impulsive and sounded rude a lot of times, but had a kind heart, despite his tendency to violence. That’s one thing I find interesting about him, that fans often overlooked, is that he wasn’t naturally kind, he learned to be kind, and it wasn’t easy. It’s not because he had a good nature, it’s because he putted the effort on that, and he did so because his father believed he could. He actually told little Rin that if he tred hard to be kind to people, he would become kind. I just love that scene of small Rin being vioent and believing he coudn’t be good and his father saying this. It’s surprinsigly rare to fiction tell us that we’re not doomed to be bad people just because being nice doesn’t come naturally to us.

2 – Original Shen Qingqiu/Shen Jiu (Scum Villain Self Saving System)

A very tragic and complex character, undeniably my favorite svsss character, and it’s not because I have anything against SY

1 – Wei Wuxian (Mo Dao Zu Shi)

Am I confidente to say that WWX is my favorite character from all times? Yes, absolutely. I love him so much, I don’t even know how to exlain how much I love him. I’m so glad he got his happy ending, he deserved it.

Listen guys as positive as I am about Crystal i won't be extremely blindly positive to every little thing Toei does. This was probably only done cus Chiaki did "so good" in season 3 and I know for a fact a lot of my followers aren't Season 3 fans.

The faces Studio Deen is known for are never taken seriously and have become MEMES. I was there when Higurashi and Umineko aired, both Kon directed series, and was displeased with the visuals most notably the facial expressions and there when the memes popped up. This shit isnt horror to people, this is comedy. They're not good, the artstyle has to SHIFT into another when they do these (how about put it in a style that works for those faves Oh Wait, it wont be the Manga OR the 90s style at that moment!) The LAST thingn want Sailor Moon- Crystal or not- to be is a goddamn meme. It doesn't deserve that.

they're not even part of the manga. Which is what Crystal at it's core is about. Yes theres dark Gorey shock value moments however they always stayed within Naoko's artistic range. She didn't SUDDENLY learn how to draw Junji Ito's style when doing horror sequences, so those scenes felt natural, if only there for shock value

This is exactly the reason I didn't want Tadano's style back. But even if they used Sakou style improved or not this facial expression bullshit would have peeved me. What Tadanos style does is just make it cutsey wootsie making these expressions more jarring and out of place when they pop up.

Like who exactly are those expressions pandering to? Manga readers? It's not an expression found in the manga at such intensity. 90s anime fans? Masahiro Ando is the closest to this and everyone hated him, there's nothing nostalgic about this. Shounen lovers? Horror fans? Sailor Moon is neither genre. Memers? God I hope not.

I don't hate Studio Deen or the staff of post season 1/2 Crystal I hate this type of trope seen in Edgey Anime or anime that have basically no real way to write or show "crazy" or evil without being completely being ridiculous about. It's a trope I hate and I'm allowed to it point out cus I've seen it enough times. The anime girl with orange hair isn't even a Studio Deen related character that was just an example outside of Deen to show my point on why I hate those Expressions. Deen is just best known for it perhaps started the trend because of MEMES. You see these faces in HENTAI for christ sake. It's the same reason I grew out of the quirky funny emoji expressions, over used when actual legit or toned down expressions could be better. (Season 1 wasn't the best at expressions however.) But comedic Gag Faces at all times just feel like a anime version of the Scooby Doo laugh track. I don't feel horrified, I just get annoyed.

I only reblogged that post on this blog cus people were talking about it in my inbox for THIS blog. However i put a lot of my grief on my other blog so I don't get responses like this all the time.

just read junji ito’s Uzumaki 9.5/10, go read it, the hardback is gorgeous too, got that goth horror aesthetic

i check the announcements each season, read the description, if it sounds good, ill watch it 

if i get a recommendation from a friend, ill watch it

i let it play on the first episode, if i dont care for it i skip it, but i download my faves and listen to them all the time

there’s no one i know that has been negative about me watching anime, my mum watches haikyuu with me, she thinks hinata is cute

i dont like doing it, i might watch past the crap episode or whatever to give it another chance but if it doesnt pick up in two episodes then im done
