Yandere Superhero X Villain! F! Reader
Wanna buy me a coffee: ☕
TW: Dubcon, spankings, kidnapping, bodily horror
PT.2
Your real name is Y/N L/N, but your villain name is Anima. After your latest failure in trying to find a job, you went into the woods to end it all. Then, by some miracle, an entity older than any Abrahamic religion found your dead body and brought you back to life. Your senses were heightened, and you could hear the animal's chatter and noises as words. With a new feeling of power, you went through society doing whatever you wanted. Even if it meant a few people with broken bones or blood on the floor. That was until a superhero by the name of superhero by the name of Ultimate Man appeared and started defeating you in battle.
He isn't going to be a problem anymore after you take him out with your new suit. Not only does it have the abilities and strengths of every animal alive, but it has the strengths and abilities of the extinct ones. It took kidnapping a paleontologist, but it is so worth it.
"Anima, surrender, and you won't get hurt," Ultimate Man commands, floating a few feet above the ground.
"Sorry, but rent's due," You say, running off with the bags of money from the bank.
As you run, he shoots lasers at you, but you dodge them by zigzagging. Unfortunately, this leads to you not paying attention to where you're going, and you run yourself off a harbor walk. The money sinks into the ocean, and you struggle to swim back up. You switch to the abilities of any marine animal, but it's still not helping you. You see your feet entangled in seaweed and try to break free. Your struggle to free yourself has worn you out, and it seems like this is your last run. Your vision goes black as your instincts tell you to go up to the surface and breathe.
~~~~~~~~~~
When you open your eyes, your jaw and ass feel sore. You try to talk, but there's a gag in your mouth.
"How dare you be such a bad girl and cause so much trouble? Do you have no respect for anyone in this city? Who cares if your rent is due? Get! A! Fucking! Job!" Ultimate Man rants, spanking your ass after every word.
"MM! MH! AWCH!" You scream, your legs kicking as Ultimate Man uses his godly strength to spank you.
The tight latex suit didn't help with the spankings, in fact, the material made sure your body could feel them at their full force.
"Oh, I see the worst girl of the century has awakened. How does it feel knowing you almost got yourself killed trying to steal money?" Ultimate Man asks, taking off your gag.
His blonde hair with light blue highlights, aquamarine eyes, and skin-tight latex white and blue suit is a sight for the eyes. His appearance is ethereal, representing his alien origin from outer space sent to help out Earth on its newest supernatural threat(you.) Who knew having the power of every animal in existence would warrant alien help for the planet Earth?
"I'm sorry, Ultimate Man. I was only trying to pay my rent. Honest," You plead, bracing for another swat to the ass. "I didn't get the raise at my job, even though I deserve it, and I couldn't pay this month's rent."
"I believe you," Ultimate Man says, his hand still rubbing your ass. "But that doesn't mean I forgive you for what you did. I was so worried when you didn't rise from the water. I thought I lost you forever. I need a suitable mate, and you're the only one with abilities almost equal to mine on this planet."
"I'm sorry, WHAT?! I thought you were in a relationship with that news writer, Lora?" You ask, lifting your head.
"Are you kidding me? We're just friends. She couldn't compare to your beauty and strength. Now then, how about we get to know each other."
Ultimate Man peels off your eye mask, then takes out his contacts. There are no pupils in his eyes, just pools of aquamarine. It creeps you out, but at least he's still hot.
"I'm ☍⍀⍜⎍☍⟒⋏ ⏃⏃⍀☍⟒⋔. But you can call me Krouken Aarkem, which is pronounced Cro-oo-can Ar-kem. My human father calls me Ken. Now, what's your name?" Ultimate Man asks, lifting your body with ease.
"It's Marnie," You lie, not wanting to give him your real name.
His fingertips glow blue, and he places them on your head. Pain takes over your head as he searches through the deepest parts of your memory.
"Y/N M/N L/N. What a beautiful name. I'll make sure to bring over your cat so you can have your baby," Krouken says, removing his hands from you.
You slap him and stumble to the other side of the couch.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" You groan, holding your head.
"What did I do wrong? Please don't be mad at me!" Krouken cries, jumping onto your body and hugging you tightly. "I'll never do it again unless you want me to! I promise! Just don't be mad at me!"
"Alright! Alright! I'm not mad at you! Just get off of me!" You yell, pushing him off you after feeling his boner on your leg.
"Yay! Now, we can engage in the Plutonian ritual we call Improving."
Krouken starts taking off his suit, revealing his naked body to you. You back up but bump into the couch, leaving you nowhere to run. He touches your suit, liquifying the material and making it fall off your body like water. Krouken kisses you, his hand tracing every part of your body as if he were memorizing it.
"Your heart is beating fast? Do you want to fight me?" Krouken asks his hand on your chest.
"No. It's just something the human body does when we feel certain emotions," You explain, holding Krouken's hand.
"So you are excited to Improve too? Excellent, I can move forward," Krouken replies, his two dicks merging into one with the width of an adult's fist.
Your eyes widen in fear of the inhuman cock in front of you. There was no way it was going to fit. It was too wide to fit in your human pussy. If it were to go inside you, you'd feel it in your lungs.
"Wait, I think we should-" You plead, only for Krouken to shove his massive cock inside of you.
You can feel it moving inside as if his dick was made from thousands of little suction cups that were kissing your vaginal walls. Krouken's arm holds you in place, and he thrusts.
"Keep going, Krouken!" You moan, lifting your leg and putting it on his shoulder.
Krouken bites and sucks your nipples as he thrusts faster, his dick suction cups losing their grip and becoming more slippery.
"You're never going to be a bad girl ever again. I'm going to fill your stomach up with so many babies that you'll never be able to think of doing stupid shit without having trouble standing up. You're going to birth the next generation of my people. You're mine, all mine. Not those villain's colleague or someone else's enemy, mine," Krouken rambles, thrusting at an inhuman rate, destroying whatever tightness your pussy had.
His eyes become white as he cums, his alien cock suction cups releasing thousands of sperm. Upon his sperm's release, his genital suction cups regained their grip on your walls, and sucking on them, making you go into overdrive. You cum on his dick, and he shudders. Both of you relish in your afterglow, sweat dripping from your body.
"So, what did you think of Improving?" Krouken asks, his head resting on your breasts.
"It was good. By the way, why do your people call it that?" You ask, rubbing Krouken's wet hair.
"Because we improve each other's bodies. Once my seed is in you, it will rework some human DNA so you'll be more like me and vice versa. Your skin is already starting to become shiny and ethereal like my skin," Krouken answers, kissing your neck.
Your body feels extremely hot, like lava is in your veins, and your eyes are burning like no tomorrow. Your spine releases a horrifying crack as your body involuntarily jolts upwards. All you can do is scream as your bones and body transform permanently.
Full disclosure, I have not seen the Teen Wolf movie and no I do not plan on it. I have caught a few things through the magic of tumblr and I had some thoughts. So if everything I saw is accurate; Derek has a kid Eli (basically a Stiles replacement since Dylan wasn’t in the movie. Also, nobody knows who his mother is?) and Derek dies, and he leaves his kid to Scott and Allison. Am I right so far? I’ve seen a few posts entertaining the idea of Stiles being Eli’s other dad, fix-its that have him resurrecting/saving Derek in some capacity. And so it got me thinking of my own version of how I would fix this dumpster fire and like,
What if Stiles was not Eli’s dad?
No no no, hear me out, okay?
Derek had Eli with some one night stand or whatever, it’s not important. She’s not in the picture but neither is Stiles. Stiles is just the one that got away, he’s the guy Derek has been pining over for the past fifteen years, and nothing more. Stiles finally got away from the supernatural shitshow and Derek is not going to be the one to drag him back into it just because he has feelings for him.
But Stiles is still the closest thing Derek has ever had to family and it makes sense for Derek to entrust his family with Stiles’ family. So what if he left Eli in the care of John? (hIS NAME IS JOHN, FIGHT ME ON THIS.) And John, he kind of adores the kid, right? Of course when Derek dies (because he does) John takes Eli in just as he promised he would.
But John is getting older. Eli is a handful because he is just like Stiles. John has to tell Stiles eventually what happened and he really could use some help trying to wrangle a grieving teenager, so he calls Stiles.
Stiles is FURIOUS when he finds out what happened. He hasn’t been in contact with Scott for years because he realized what a piece of shit Scott was, but the fact that Scott didn’t even call when everything was happening makes him angry. The fact that they let Derek die?? More than angry. Angry enough to kill somebody. But when he meets Eli, all that anger disappears. Eli, who is this weird mix of Derek and Stiles, who is mourning the loss of his only parent, his only family. He knows what it’s like to lose a parent, but even after his mom died, he always had his dad. Eli doesn’t have that so Stiles makes it his responsibility to become that figure for him. Not his dad because nobody could replace Derek, but a guardian.
He moves back to town, he bonds with Eli, and in his spare time he maybe starts to explore the possibilities of necromancy. Death in a place like Beacon Hills has never been permanent– Peter and now Allison are proof of that. He doesn’t tell anybody because he doesn’t actually plan on bringing Derek back, it’s just a thought that keeps him from falling apart entirely. During this time, he realizes not only his feelings for Derek, but Derek’s feelings for him. He wishes he could have just a few minutes with Derek, wishes he could go back in time and redo everything. Maybe he would have stayed in Beacon Hills, or he would have asked Derek to leave with him. And time travel, yeah that’s a possibility, too, but time is a fickle bitch and Stiles isn’t willing to gamble with it. What if he messes something up and erases Eli from existence?
In the end, bringing Derek back is kind of an accident.
Years have passed and Eli is healing, Stiles is healing– they even manage to fix the jeep together because symbolism. Stiles is going through some old journals or something of Deaton’s and he finds something that looks kind of promising (something about true love being the one thing more powerful than death or something equally as cheesy) and he’s reading it out loud and it just happens. No fanfare, no sparks, almost like it’s not magic at all. One second, Stiles is alone, and the next, Derek is there– older than the last time Stiles saw him, just as beautiful. There’s some panic because what the fuck, the last thing Derek remembers is the fire and being so sure he was going to die and thinking if only I could see Stiles one more time and now he’s here, standing in front of Stiles– also older than the last time Derek saw him, and just as beautiful. But after the panic, there’s some kissing and some crying and some long awaited love confessions, and by the time they go home, Stiles still isn’t sure exactly what happened, what he did, what the consequences might be, but he’s got his arm around Derek’s waist and the burn of Derek’s stubble on his lips and Derek is alive so nothing else fucking matters.
finally caved and posted bc i have the most delicious idea ...
those spiderman/deadpool crossovers for steddie but like also following mcu backstories bc i unforch have never read the comics OKAY . be patient with me please
eddie munson as deadpool and steve harrington as morena baccarin's character but set in high school. like maybe after breaking up with nancy and getting beat up by billy, steve goes looking for something to help with the pain (migraines? maybe bc he just got the shit kicked out of him a week ago and he has a hairline fracture from that dumb plate? you decide...). either way, everyone says that eddie munson deals at that picnic table behind the school.
somehow, the two of them end up together. i'm trying to decide between a fwb situation with mutual pining or a whirlwind romance established relationship, but it always ends with eddie munson being diagnosed with cancer.
now this follows the general plot from the deadpool movie with the experimentation/clinical trials for a miracle cure and eddie becomes a mutant (bc deadpool is part of the x-men universe right... i actually have no idea what the correct term for him is. he has powers basically). ALSO, opportunity for a horrible lack of communication. does steve know that eddie has cancer? does he just think that eddie disappeared in the middle of the night? what if he told eddie he loved him and that was when eddie made the decision to go through with the experimental treatment because if there was a possibility to live and stay with steve, he'd do anything to have that.
considering a steve harrington mourning the loss of eddie after he disappears/dies depending on if he's aware of the cancer diagnosis, and not applying for college at all or submitting lackluster applications. his parents don't understand his grief bc they don't know/care that he just lost someone he loved, and he ends up working at scoops with robin.
and robin is great, like platonic soulmates i'm going to spend the rest of my life with you great. she encourages him to get back up and apply to college with her (nyu? to be more canon to spiderman. it could also be indianapolis, but a city either way for a superhero who swings off buildings)
anyways, maybe a year or so passes but the time frame doesn't matter as much as the fact that steve harrington was bitten by a radioactive spider. and now he's spiderman and all of the whatnot that goes into fighting crime and secret identities.
this could also be somewhat canon compliant with stranger things in a steve "why does supernatural shit keep happening to me" harrington way. he got bitten in the russian bunker perhaps? i think it would make most sense for the upside down to be closed off completely after starcourt because hawkins isn't... doesn't make sense to me for deadpool and spiderman to exist in, but also like personal preference.
ugh anyways pls let me know thoughts bc i desperately need someone to talk to about this
Curse Lore
I’m realizing I should lay out the facts of the curse. Because I often say things that make sense to ME but I don’t know if I’ve ever put it into words or explained it fully. Basically this is just bullshit I made up and I’m sorry.
____
Blood hunger!
I tend to think of it less like a normal dhampir or vampire. There is a desire for the blood like when you smell food when you are hungry. But the more powerful feeling is actually a desire for the relief it brings. Less a craving and more a necessity. Like a drug that dulls pain. The fresh blood is not a replacement for food or water like vampires. Think of it more of a corruption like someone needs to replace their white blood cells and get a transfusion. Only very much supernatural.
The Necromancy
The true intention of the undead curse is actually the opposite of how it’s been used in this case. Usually the state they are in is supposed to be very temporary. The times this necromancy spell was used historically the one who becomes undead is the one who wants to become more powerful. Using their apprentices/minions/devotees as the sacrifice. Ordielau and Ianthos used this necromancy curse in a manner it was not intended to be.
The curse is a constant that will not resolve unless one of these two conditions are met. (And a secret third thing I’ll touch on)
1. Host dies. The curse has consumed them. They become a shambling corpse in the control of the caster of the ritual.
2. Ritual that began is complete. Including original casters heart within the body of the host. The subject is now reanimated and fully undead. More powerful. Now immortal.
3. Ascension. Host has surpassed mortality but the curse has fused with their divinity.
The Symptoms:
When host is low on uncorrupted blood they start to deteriorate. How quickly that happens varies but depends on the hosts health. Consuming uncorrupted blood will start the healing process which brings them back to their default state.
- Sweating, fevers, while having a lower body temperature
- Swaying, losing balance, fainting
- Skin discoloration about eyes, mouth, nose
- Loss of sense of smell or taste. Everything begins to taste like ash and rot
- Not able to retain water weight. They look and become dehydrated
- Loss of motor function. Shaking, trembling, muscle weakness, loss of control of limbs
- Loss on mental facilities. Trouble remembering, losing track of time, in a haze or fog, tiredness, fatigue
- Pins and needles, phantom pains
- Loss of appetite, weight loss
- (Zrise specific because his cause of death was drowning) Coughing, wheezing.
- Any wounds begin to fester and rot
How the Family Handles It:
Only two individuals know the truth about the curse.
Ianthos Aldonlel, their grandfather. Who knew of the ritual. Informed and assisted his daughter but did not perform the ritual. Got her the required components. He intends to use the information to his advantage but would only betray is daughter if he felt she would do so first. The inciting incident of Zrise knowing a hit of this information is that Ianthos discovers the truth of how his late wife died.
Ordielau Ellvesem, their mother. Who performed the ritual with the intention of keeping her child in the state of in between life and death. She knows that her heart is required to complete the ritual and has no intention of allowing that to come to pass. So she never intends to tell him what would end his current state of existence.
Already known for their cruelty it’s an unspoken rule (punishable offense if the rule is broken by staff or strangers) that they ‘harvest’ blood from ‘acceptable’ sources. This is never done by any actual members of the family. Always done by trusted staff. Usually organized by the family’s loyal butler, Drago.
The family does not acknowledge that they require blood. Calling it ‘medicine’ even though through taste it is obvious. Despite trying to hide it. Even as children something was obviously off.
Usually they have about one half a pint of blood once a week. A week is about as long as one can go without symptoms starting to show. Unless they consume more blood more regularly.
Hope you enjoyed my deranged rambling
Hi, do you still take x reader requests?? If you do, I was wanting a Phantom x reader/Y/N (she/they pronouns) and maybe Y/N got kidnapped by a rival being and he shows up rescue Y/N? Possessive Phantom is one of my favorite ideas, and he’s barely, just barely by a thread holding back from going full on eldritch being on the kidnappers + the rival. Maybe Phantom comforts Y/N afterwards too?
Call me Cos :D (for anon, I’ll be space anon if that isn’t taken)
Well, I do so love my body horror, so I'll admit that I kinda went further than that "just barely by a thread" part. . .
(This is based on a set of headcanons I posted a while ago; go here if you'd like to see them.)
Sorry this took so long, but it's finally finished! I hope you enjoy it!
(Trigger Warnings: violence, body horror, eyes, teeth, mentions of snakes, mentions of insects, implied kidnapping, implied illegal business, talk of death/dying, strong language. Please let me know if I missed anything.)
___
“I’m really not sure what you’re hoping to gain from this,” you announced, resting your cheek against one hand as you looked out at the world through the bars of the cage.
Your captor—an admittedly stunning woman with a halo of crystals orbiting around the golden points of a crown protruding from her silvery hair—hummed thoughtfully.
“Not too much, if I’m being honest,” she answered with a dismissive shrug.
You quirked a brow, straightening your back a little. It was difficult to look her in the eyes; they glowed with undeniable power. The most piercing, dangerous, otherworldly shade of blue you’d ever seen.
Your brain was begging you to focus on something else. Anything else, really. The room outside your cage was extravagant, boasting marble floors and looming pillars and filigree carvings on the walls. Everything was inlaid with blue gemstones in some way. Even your cage, nestled in the corner, was polished and decorated to perfection.
But you still made a valiant attempt to keep eye-contact. You couldn’t just let her think you were some shrinking violet.
“Then why did you bring me here in the first place? Why did you bother to just wait in my mirror until I finally got home?”
The Multiverse Monarch took a few steps closer to further scrutinize you.
“Why does anyone do anything?” She responded. “Why do you mortals insist on making sacrifices, traveling to places you’ve never seen before, crossing bridges that don’t even exist yet?”
“Because we’ll eventually get paid for it,” you replied. “Or, we all hope to, at least.”
Monarch blinked, a small snicker forcing its way through her teeth. She quickly shook her head, engaging in the rolling-your-eyes-with-your-whole-body gesture.
“Because it’s there,” she stated in the most matter-of-fact tone you’d ever heard. “Because it’s just something to do. Something to temporarily keep your little lives from continuing to be mundane as fuck.”
You hummed at the explanation. There was definitely some truth to it, but you thrived on sarcasm. You couldn’t help that; it was a survival mechanism. “I feel like doing any kind of business with Phantom already pretty far from ‘mundane as fuck.’ I almost ended up being one of his contractors when we first met, and now look where I stand with him.”
Monarch tilted her head to the side, folding her arms across her chest. “That kind of thing happens with a lot of dealmakers and potential clients. Much more frequently than you’ think. Don’t feel special.”
“I never said I felt special,” you argued. And now it was your turn to smirk, since it was so obvious that you and Monarch were now thinking the same thing.
Phantom was many, many things. And one of them was, so simply, shady as they came. However, he could also be honest when the mood suited him.
When the two of you had first met, he’d seen you as just another soul with enough potential and enough need of supernatural assistance to be considered for his collection. You, on the other hand, had long-since honed your instincts to sense ulterior motives. And at that point in time, you’d been, for lack of a better word, tired.
Before that point, you’d been stepped on and laughed at and criticized so. Many. Damn. Times.
You’d gotten tired of that.
You’d gotten tired of trying so hard and putting out so much and only getting a few breadcrumbs here and there to show for it.
You’d gotten so tired that it was miracle you’d even bothered to read Phantom’s contract in its entirety.
And even with the potential consequences literally written down right in front of you. . .you’d been tired enough to not care.
So what if your soul became the property of an eldritch abomination?
At least you’d get some time to finally enjoy a few things before that.
You’re not sure what Phantom saw in your tiredness. Hell, you’d flat-out asked him before, and he hadn’t been able to give you a clear answer himself. But that was just it: he’d seen something that he wanted to keep. Not just for his collection, but. . .
Well, Phantom had been quiet for most of that particular meeting, mainly relying on his elevator pitch for small talk as you read through the requirements and expectations. When you took hold on his feather quill, he went silent. He’d stayed silent as you hesitated. You’d felt his eyes boring holes through your skull. And just as you were about to sign your name on the dotted line, Phantom had yanked the contract away, insisting that he needed to make a few updates to it.
The rest, as they say, is history.
“Plus,” you added. “I’ve heard all about the spats the two of you have gotten into. And when you combine those with the business angle of things. . .I mean, I’m not sure what to call it, but it’s still not mundane at all. Isn’t that enough?”
“You’ve only heard about those spats from his perspective,” Monarch snarked. Insanity glinted in her eyes. A buzzing, humming, keening, music suddenly stabbed its way into your ears, and you finally had to look away from her, ducking your head and kneading at your temples.
More footsteps clicked closer, and a cold hand was suddenly grasping your chin, slowly forcing you to look back up.
Her eyes. . .they looked even less human than before. Now they were compound, seeming to shudder in their sockets as that frightening blue light glowed brighter and brighter.
A pair of long, sinuous antennae now protruded from her forehead, covered in a network of crystalline veins. They reached down to lightly tap against your scalp, making that unearthly music reverberate in your skull.
“And enough is ภєשєг єภ๏ยﻮђ,” she concluded, allowing you to catch a glimpse of something shuffling about between the rows of her teeth. “ภєשєг ђคร ๒єєภ, ภєשєг ฬเɭɭ ๒є.”
“MONARCH!” A familiar voice suddenly shouted from somewhere on the outside of the throne room. . .or, it had to be outside the throne room, at least. But then, that voice shouldn’t have been echoing and bouncing around the corners with such violence.  “I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR ME!”
Not if it was a human’s voice, that is.
And that’s why you immediately recognized it. You’d been hearing it every day for a good couple years now, after all.
You’d been waiting to hear it today.
“I know you know,” Monarch called back, only slightly raising her own tone as a smirk played at her lips. She released her grip on your chin, strolling away from your cage to settle down onto her throne. “That’s what makes this kind of stuff so fun.”
What sounded like a Category 5 earthquake slammed against the towering side-by-side doors that waited across the room. The thunderous sound was followed by a cacophony of screeching, like razor-sharp claws being dragged across ornate wood and stone.
“Well, if we’re going with that logic,” Phantom seethed from wherever he was, “then you also know that if you don’t bring [Y/N] out here right now, I swear I’ll 𐍂𐍊Ƥ 𐍈𐍁𐨠 𐌴𐌰ζ𐌷 𐍈𐍆 𐌸𐍈𐍁𐍂 𐐎𐍊𐍀𐌾Ⲋ 𐍈𐍀𐌴-𐌱𐌸-𐍈𐍀𐌴!"
Phantom’s pitch seemed to warp like metal, now twisting and rattling in the air. It gave the impression of a hissing, growling, churning well; like he was speaking through multiple people—or multiple monsters, really—at once.
“And I’ll just grow replacements for them,” Monarch replied, examining her fingernails, looking extremely cool and collected someone who was facing promises of dismemberment. “If you’re gonna threaten me, then maybe aim for something that’ll be more difficult to recover.”
Another shockwave pounded against the doors from the other side. The entire room shook; you could feel the floor vibrating through your shoes for a long moment.
Phantom’s voice hummed, shifting from ferocious anger to vicious mockery in a heartbeat. “Like those clones of yours?”
You craned your neck to glance at Monarch through the cage’s bars. You had to bite down a chuckle at the way she stiffened; if there was one thing you and Phantom had bonded over, it was the art of schadenfreude.
“My clones are scattered across the multiverse,” Monarch contended. “It would take you at least six-thousand-nine-hundred years for you to find all of them!”
She let out an icy snicker that made your spine want to crawl its way out of your back and go somewhere a little more quiet. “ץ๏ย’гє คɭгєค๔ץ ђคɭŦ-รєภเɭє; รђ๏ยɭ๔ภ’Շ ๒є Շ๏๏ ɭ๏ภﻮ ๒єŦ๏гє ץ๏ย’гє คɭɭ Շђє ฬคץ Շђєгє.”
“Oh, now you’re in for it,” you murmured. Though the speculation was mainly to yourself, you had no doubts that your captor could hear you.
An animalistic roar echoed through the walls, and the doors shook in their frame yet again. This time, the boom was accentuated by the undeniable call of something shattering.
“𐍊 ꡕ𐌰𐌸 𐌱𐌴 𐐎𐌴ࠋࠋ-𐍈ⱱ𐌴𐍂 𐌰 𐨠𐌷𐍈𐍁Ⲋ𐌰𐍀Ɗ, 𐌱𐍁𐨠 𐍊 𐌰ꡕ 𐍀𐍈𐨠 Ⲋ𐌴𐍀𐍊ࠋ𐌴!”
The latest tremor lingered, not just fading away like the last two strikes. You subconsciously held onto the bars in a white-knuckled grip.
Phantom knew you were here; he wouldn’t make Monarch’s entire palace collapse if it meant the risk of you getting crushed in the rubble. Despite your trust in him, your instincts were on still fire now, screaming the the floor was absolutely going to cave in beneath you at any second.
Phantom spoke up again, dripping with surreal danger. “What about all the souls you’ve gathered? What if I set my sights on those, Moth? They aren’t exactly easy to replace. We both now that better than anyone.”
Monarch stood on her throne, her movement too fluid and quick to be natural. The entire lower-half of her face seemed to have eroded away. Smooth, human-esquse flesh had been replaced by the mandibles you’d seen earlier. They shuddered and snapped, making an odd, almost musical chittering noise.
And right above them. . .her eyes. . .
Her eyes had grown disturbingly wide, rolling around in her head as each of the hexagonal units adorning either of them reflected everything around her. You could see yourself in the corner of them. She was still watching you as much as she was watching Phantom through the doors.
Her antennae now almost resembled crooked swords, twitching so violently that it was a wonder how her crown stayed in place.
The lights of the room flickered, growing dark and insidious. The temperature automatically dropped through several degrees; goosebumps prickled over every square-inch of your skin. Your senses were so shocked by the change that you almost didn’t notice the awful chorus of stretching and tearing that coiled through the room.
By the time you finally looked back at Monarch, you choked on air.
Her fair skin and silvery locks had just finished practically ripping themselves apart to make way for. . .not bones, perse. An exoskeleton: a shining, jagged, horrific carapace that looked like it was molded from liquefied diamonds.
The woman was gone.
An enormous insectoid monster stood in her place.
It was like nothing you’d ever seen before (which was saying something, since you’d seen quite a lot thanks to your relationship with Phantom).
As though you were looking at the impossible result of a mythical threesome between a primordial praying mantis, spider, and butterfly.
Far, far too many long, spindly, dagger-like legs and clutching, serrated claws to count.
At the center of them all was a glowing abdomen that trembled with every breath Monarch took. It ended in a glittering stinger that would make even the world’s sharpest harpoon look like a toothpick.
Her mandibles were now large enough to easily decapitate you with one bite. Each time they moved, an otherworldly chittering rhythm leaked out.
Four billowing wings as vast and blue as a trench in the ocean, covered in organized lines of piercing eye-spots.
No. . .those weren’t spots.
Honest-to-fucking-goodness eyes.
And they were still keeping some focus on you.
Monarch snarled. Against all odds, her voice remained soft. When it mixed with that chittering, however, the sound felt like needles. “ץ๏ย ๔๏ภ'Շ ђคשє Շђє ภєгשє.”
And with that, the doors finally buckled, flying off their hinges to embed themselves in the walls.
A haze of heat and terrifying energy swept into the room, followed an instant later by another abomination.
Despite the anxiety prying at your ribs, you still managed to smile. You even felt butterflies in your stomach.
Phantom was here. He’d come to take you back home.
At first, he seemed to be a sentient, slow-moving tornado of smoke. With your personal experience, you knew that he was simply wearing that fog sort of like a cloak.
As more and more of his true form rippled into the throne room, as all the smoke sliced around him, you could easily see the shapes of bones that all fit together to form a colossal serpentine skeleton.
A vast array of organs writhed further inside the seemingly endless ribcage, glowing similarly to the embers at the bottom of a firepit.
That glow had absolutely nothing on Phantom’s eyes, however.
Then again, you weren’t sure if you could really call them eyes.
The sockets in his triangle-shaped head emitted plumes of flaming, spiraling smoke. Beneath them, a maw filled to the brim with serrated fangs; the largest ones dripped with luminescent venom that sizzled as it hit the marble floors. A long, forked black tongue flicked in and out between all those teeth like a party favor.
So, in short: the richest, purest form of nightmare fuel for anyone with ophidiophobia. . .well, almost. Two arms (only two at the moment. You knew more could be summoned and then retracted at a second’s notice) jutted out from its sides, each ending in a clutch of five talons.
And there was something peculiar pinched between two of those talons.
“𐨠𐍂𐌸 ꡕ𐌴,” Phantom hissed as he raised his arm to show it off.
It was spherical in shape, almost looking like one of those pretty glass marbles that always seemed to be in antique stores for whatever reason.
But you knew better.
The longer you started at it, the more it seemed to bounce—no, to pulse in the air. It gleamed with a soft, warm, colorful light. A living light.
That was someone’s soul.
You’d seen Phantom handling souls before, but those all had been his (technically) legal property, having been signed over to him by his clients.
Judging by the way Monarch screamed as Phantom tossed it for his other talons to catch, this one had to be part of her collection.
“𐍊𐨠'Ⲋ 𐍂𐌴𐌰ࠋࠋ𐌸 Ⲋ𐍊ꡕƤࠋ𐌴, ꡕ𐍈𐨠𐌷. . .” Phantom put a little more pressure on the soul in his grasp. It responded via turning a darker shade, almost partially deflating like a smoker’s lung. “𐌸𐍈𐍁 𐨠𐌰𐌺𐌴 Ⲋ𐍈ꡕ𐌴𐨠𐌷𐍊𐍀𐌾 𐍆𐍂𐍈ꡕ ꡕ𐌴, 𐌰𐍀Ɗ 𐍊 𐨠𐌰𐌺𐌴 Ⲋ𐍈ꡕ𐌴𐨠𐌷𐍊𐍀𐌾 𐍆𐍂𐍈ꡕ 𐌸𐍈𐍁.”
Monarch bristled. For a brief, horrible moment, you worried that she would reach over and clamp the cage to crush it around you like a soda can.
You’d heard stories of her power. As far as you knew, she was one of few beings strong enough to have a stalemate with Phantom.
The two of them stared at one another for what felt like hours.
“คภ๔ ץ๏ย คɭฬคץร รคץ ՇђคՇ ๏Շђєг קє๏קɭє ςคภ'Շ Շคкє ן๏кєร,” Monarch accused, clicking her mandibles. She then let out an acidic sigh. “Ŧเภє. ﻮเשє ՇђคՇ ๏ภє ๒คςк Շ๏ ๓є, คภ๔ ץ๏ย ςคภ ђคשє ץ๏ยгร.”
“𐍀𐍈,” Phantom snapped. “𐌸𐍈𐍁 𐌾𐍊ⱱ𐌴 𐨠𐌷𐌴ꡕ 𐌱𐌰ζ𐌺 𐍆𐍊𐍂Ⲋ𐨠.”
Monarch hissed, leaning back, tensing up.
“How about you both move at the same time?” You called out, having finally reclaimed your voice.
Both of the crimes against nature swiveled their heads in your direction. One part of you instinctually wanted to curl into a ball. The other part stood firm.
No matter how terrifying Phantom was, no matter how much of a psychological hurdle it always was for you to see him in his true form like this. . .you still knew that he cared about you. He just wanted to keep you safe, to have you stay by his side. Once you were with him again, everything would be fine.
He and Monarch side-eyed each other.
One of Monarch’s legs reached over, clutching at the door to the cage. Simultaneously, Phantom pushed his talons, the soul still in his grasp, toward his rival.
Then, less than a second later, they moved in tandem.
As Phantom passed that unfortunate soul back to its owner, there was suddenly a gaping hole in the middle of the bars. You sprinted out and across the throne room, just barely managing to not trip over that long blue carpet.
Phantom met you halfway, one clutch of talons hovering behind you, gently pushing you to stand closer to him. He lowered his skull, angling it to keep his fangs away as you leaned against him, stretching your arms in an awkward attempt to hug him.
“Շђєгє, รєє? ՇђคՇ ฬครภ'Շ ร๏ ђคг๔,” Monarch piped back up. You didn’t look at her, but you could guess at the snide grin slowly-but-surely spreading over her mandibles. Was this part of the adrenaline rush, or. . .whatever she’d been after? “คɭฬคץร ฬเՇђ Շђє ๔гค๓คՇเςร.”
“𐌸𐍈𐍁'𐍂𐌴 𐍈𐍀𐌴 𐨠𐍈 𐍆𐍁ζ𐌺𐍊𐍀𐌾  𐨠𐌰ࠋ𐌺,” Phantom growled, holding you closer. You could see his horrific excuse for a heart thrashing and shifting through various colors unlike any you’d ever seen on Earth. “𐍊'ꡕ 𐌾𐍈𐍀𐍀𐌰 𐍂𐌴ꡕ𐌴ꡕ𐌱𐌴𐍂 𐨠𐌷𐍊Ⲋ 𐐎𐌷𐌴𐍀 𐍈𐍁𐍂 𐍀𐌴𑀌𐨠 ꡕ𐌴𐌴𐨠𐍊𐍀𐌾 ζ𐍈ꡕ𐌴Ⲋ 𐌰𐍂𐍈𐍁𐍀Ɗ. ʝ𐍁Ⲋ𐨠  𐨠𐌷𐍊𐍀𐌺 𐌰𐌱𐍈𐍁𐨠 𐨠𐌷𐌰𐨠."
Since Paranormal stuff(like Ghosts and like the Dunwich "gods", etc etc) canonly exist in fallout, does that mean, there many is like demons then to?
Now imagine if The Sole Survivor got possessed by a demon. What would the companions do?
Cait:
• Extremely against this whole experience. She had never been the religious type but right about now..this is the time she may start considering some kind of intervention.
•Kind of also the the type to just throw stuff at the demon..works with other things!
Curie:
•Doesn’t believe at all that sole is possessed. If it gets too extreme, Curie will implement the help of some settlers to restrain sole and sedate them for their own good. Now..if sole is granted supernatural powers because of their demonic passenger, Curie will-oh who am I kidding? You could float and she’d still write it off as some peculiar yet totally natural phenomena. She is a synthetic lady of science.
Danse:
•Much like Curie in this respect. When you start showing signs of possession his first instinct is to admit you to the med bay, chalking it up to severe ptsd. When things inevitably go south though..pants are shitted.
Deacon:
•Honestly believes that you are pulling a fast one on him. Maybe it’s payback for all the bull crap lies he has told you? Bottom line though, once he realizes what’s going on he more or less traps your ass in the church until he can scrounge up someone to help get your “buddy” out. Regardless, he WILL help.
Gage:
• Absolutely having none of this. Will smack the demon out of you if he must or will die trying.
Hancock:
•Saw it from a mile away and being a rather superstitious ghoul, he had the essentials. Salt, jet, and an odd priest from Diamond city all within a hot moment.
Macready:
•Beyond terrified. It isn’t even funny though, he is frozen in place and seconds away from a full blown heart attack. He won’t know what to do and hopes desperately that you’ll forgive him for that.
Maxson:
•Depends a lot on your relationship with him. If you’re a soldier or even a friend, his answer will be to turn you to scribes to see what the fuck was happening. However when you are a romantic partner, he’s quite a bit more torn up.
Nick:
•skeptical but open to believing just about anything given all the things he has seen. When it comes down to it, he’ll do everything in his power to get YOU back and make sure your demon friend stays away.
Piper:
• She feels so bad for it but be it self preservation or the fact that she knows she has to stay alive for Nat, she chooses to distance herself from you. It eats her alive but it’s all she can think to do.
Preston:
•Will call upon everyone he can, even those he doesn’t particularly care for but are friends of your’s, to try to rally and bring you back.
X6-88:
•To the institute with your demon infested ass.
Yandere au (Poly BTS x Timetravelling!Reader)
TW: mention of family issues, mental health issues, implied self-harm, yandere behavior, obsession, murder
a/n: I am in no way, shape or form romanticizing any of these. These are dark concepts for a FICTION. Fiction isn’t real. I do not condone any of these acts nor do I believe that any BTS member act this way.
(can you tell that I have favorites?)
The mc is a product of very toxic, abusive family circumstances. She’s got mommy issues, daddy issues, mental health issues, you name it. In short, she’s a troubled woman with dark past and sees everything as meaningless including life, most especially her own. Despite all of that however, she’s extremely self-aware of her beliefs and how destructive those beliefs can be, so even though she doesn’t see any value in life, she understands why people likes to live. Of course they would, how could they not. After getting used to how it feels like to breathe and feel for as long as we live, the sudden change to nothingness can be scary, more so the unfamiliarity it brings. And then there goes the other side of the coin when it comes to death; the probability of heaven, hell, and/or purgatory being real. A lot of people get scared to the thoughts of these things, in fact, it’s so common that we had come to know the realization of these as midlife crisis (although midlife crisis pertains to other things too and not just the fear of death itself). You understand them though. You understand as you fear the same things too, but just a tiny bit different.
You’re not scared whether heaven, hell or complete nothingness waits for you after death, but the idea of everything can cease to exist in just a blink of an eye does. After surfing through the internet for as long as you can remember, there is one quote that had been instilled on your mind: The best way to overcome fear is to face with equanimity the situation of which one is afraid.
And although you’re sure that the quote was thought with good intentions, you were never taught to cope nor deal with your emotions. As such, you took it the only way you know how—  literally.
With what you had come to be, and with all your demented logic and reasonings, you faced your fears.
You stared directly at the grim reaper’s eyes as you killed over and over again those who you deemed deserving of such fate. You don’t kill the innocents, and you never once thought of harming a touch of a child’s hair. You pick the rapists, the corrupt, the greedy, and then suddenly the thing that you once feared of became something that you enjoy.
But you’re not the hero, nor do you think of yourself as the villain. You’re just someone with a different moral compass than what the majority have, seeing the world what it truly is. Cruel. But as luck have it, you’re not one to be seen as a common person, and whatever supernatural being that protects the world knows that too as you were given the right and the power to travel through time. Although they told you that you can never change anything in the past as it can drastically affect the future, and that you would know for what purpose exactly you were given this power, but you call bs on that. Whoever or whatever being gave this to you, they would surely know who you are. They know what you are capable of, and to poke the bear in giving you opportunity to change things for you?
Who are you to say no?
Comes the year 1888, where Jack the Ripper had ran amok the dark night and killed many women. To help with your disguise, you were given the identity of a detective tasked to finally unmask the scum. But you’re not going to make a bait of yourself in order to coax him out of the hole the criminal is hiding in, nor do you want to kill him too, as by doing so you’re only stepping the line of true hypocrisy.
No, as you would do much worse.
You’d taunt him by killing the opposite of his targets. As he kills poor women, you’d kill rich men. And while he does it bloody, you’d do it cleanly, made it that nothing would scream murder other than the chrysanthemum flowers that surround the body and the farewell letters you’ve prepared. And although your goal was to allure the so-called Jack the Ripper, unbeknownst to you that you had done much worse.
------
(whatcha think)
(wanted to title this as “Flower of Evil” coz ykyk but lemme know if you have something better)
(also, sorry if I still haven’t updated My Savior. I was busy with college and it gave me a hard time trying to figure out how should I word things.)
There is a weird noise coming from somewhere. Only your OC can hear it and it is driving them crazy! -does your OC presume its supernatural and if so, what kind of ritual are they gonna perform?
INT. CHURCH OF THE BLACK KLOK
CAMERA pans from east to west end of a long hallway adorned with STAINED GLASS IMPRESSIONS OF DETHKLOK. CAMERA pans in on BAEN-SHEE and CHARLES, standing outside a door that is easily 20 feet tall. A HUM can be heard throughout.
SUPERIMPOSE: "Church of the Black Klok: 36 Hours Remain"
NITA: "I can't get that sound out of my head. Is it getting louder?"
CHERRY: "Please don't remind me of the horrible droning sound. My brain is trying to concentrate on the horrible droning sound."
CHARLES: "Ladies, I ah, want to convey a sense of gravity, here. What we are about to do will change your lives forever."
CHERRY: "Thank you for that, Charles. I wasn't getting a real feeling of impending doom out of, you know, all the hieroglyphics, giant statues, stained glass, and the fact that this place even exists in the first place."
SPARKLES lets out a sympathetic grumble.
CHARLES: "Beyond these doors, you will come face to face with your ultimate destinies as Heralds of the Chosen Ones. What you see and what you experience may be hard to believe, but I assure you it is all very real. It's important that you listen to everything I instruct you to do from this point forward. The world is counting on you. Dethklok is counting on you."
The CAMERA is positioned just behind BAEN-SHEE and CHARLES. We see CHARLES nod, and two ROBED CHURCH MEMBERS move to open the large doors. The CAMERA is flooded with white light.
CAMERA fades in to the INT of the RITUAL ROOM. It bears resemblance to the inside of an active volcano and is washed in a foreboding red light. A narrow walkway leads to a huge circular pillar of rock that takes up the majority of the room. On its floor is an inverted PENTAGRAM. At each point, a smaller pillar of rock rises from the surface - five in all. Each one bears a different symbol at its base:
Tumblr media
The omnipresent HUM is noticeably louder.
NITA: "What is this place?"
CHARLES: "The Ritual Room. Here you will be connected to your full powers by channeling the Dethly Lights. The five of you will enter as your mortal selves. You will leave as the Five Heralds of the Metalocalypse."
EDEN shirks backwards and begins sobbing. CAJ steadies her by holding onto her shoulders.
EDEN: "I don't want to do it, I don't want to do it, I don't --"
CAJ: "Shh, it will be okay, lille. You can trust Charles."
CHERRY: "Can we, though?"
NITA: "Cherry!"
SPARKLES grunts, neutrally.
CHERRY: "I'm just saying, this is all becoming a bit much for me."
CAJ: "Big talk from someone who was brought back from t'dead."
NITA: "Caj!"
EDEN cries louder.
CAJ: "Now look what you've done."
CHERRY: "Fuck you, bitch, I wanna cry too! And if you and the business-Pope here think I'm going into that room, you've got --"
NITA: "Enough!"
EDEN stops crying. A quiet whimper from SPARKLES can be heard.
NITA: "Don't you all see? The fighting? Losing our powers? It's all connected. And it's because the good guys might not win. We have to stop this. They need our help." NITA turns her attention to CHARLES. NITA: "I'll do it. For Dethklok."
CHARLES nods.
CAJ: "I'll do it, too."
SPARKLES grunts in affirmation. EDEN quiets a sniffle and wipes her eyes.
EDEN: "For Toki... For Dethklok."
CHERRY remains defiant but upon blinking it's clear she has tears in her eyes. She looks scared, but in a beat, her countenance changes and she too turns towards CHARLES.
CHERRY: "Yeah, heh. Just when I was getting used to being alive again, too. I'm in. Lead us to our doom, commander."
CHARLES: "Very good. Now I ask if any of you have any religious, sacred, or otherwise spiritual items on your person, you leave them here. And ah --"
CHARLES scratches the side of his temple and turns around, facing away from the five women.
CHARLES: "And also any clothes you might be wearing. Heh."
The Unsleeping City Chapter Two and Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto
Ally Beardsley said, "I get her Kitchen, that really old book" and I perked up a little bit because I know a book called Kitchen, a niche one that I have analytical thoughts about and love as a piece of art and have never heard anyone mention outside of the class wherein I read it. And then they said "it has this really cool trans character in it," and I had to pause the video to scream about this, because the book I know does in fact have a cool trans woman in it. Her name is Eriko. When I had calmed down enough, I pressed play again and Ally Beardsley said "It's by this writer Banana Yoshimoto" and that is as far as I am into that episode because at that confirmation I had to stop and scream again.
Kitchen, the novella, is made of two different pieces: "Kitchen," about short-novel length by itself, and "Moonlight Shadow," a much shorter story. Both stories are about grief, isolation, connection, and food. Notably, both stories start with the main characters already in mourning, their loved ones already dead. We enter their world as one that is notably empty. This parallels the setting of season two, which opens with introductory scenes that still keenly feel Kugrash's absence.
I have been thinking about Kitchen through this entire season, which is part of why I got so excited when Ally Beardsley mentioned it. Kitchen is a book about grief and grieving and relying on others in your time of need to help you and care for you and give you food. Yoshimoto uses light and dark imagery not as symbols of good and evil, but rather of isolation and connection. Multiple times, she brings us the image of distinct points being connected by light in a dark void, including the main character looking up at the moon in a dark sky and, in one of the closing images of "Kitchen," a lighthouse tracing a road of light across black waves. When our narrator meets one of the people who will become her new household, she sees "in the black gloom before my eyes...a straight road leading from me to him" (Yoshimoto 6-7) (I don't have my book with me but I did find one of my old essays about it :) ). The darkness in these images is that which is not known, that which the characters cannot see through, which is why it represents isolation. They do not have knowledge or connection to that place, even though they may in the future. That way, the imagery is also connected to agency and the act of exploring and reaching out to one's world. Kitchen portrays characters in grief and dangerously deep in self-isolation, and the events and relationships that help them deal with that and figure out how they are going to live now. Yoshimoto characterizes the universe not as malicious but uncaring, and proposes that the response to this is to look for meaning instead in each other and the world we make. Which is exactly the struggle our characters are embarking on against NULL! Meaning, value, the things we personally hold dear; and it doesn't matter if they're "cosmically insignificant" or doomed or can be corrupted or whatever because they exist while they exist and they matter while they're there. Aaaaaaaaaa!!!
I've just remembered that one of the characters in "Kitchen" climbs up on someone's roof in the middle of the night to eat katsudon with them. They were not invited there! It was not katsudon that was in the hotel room! They bought the katsudon in the middle of the night and put it in their backpack and climbed up onto the roof and tapped at the window and said "Hello I brought katsudon"! I love this. It's so good. It's also Kugrash behavior.
Victoria Brown also persistently cares for people by providing them food, which is just to say that these two stories are both thinking about the comforting and communal power of cooking for people and eating together.
If I had a nickel for each time a mysterious, apparently-human but probably supernatural figure connected to a liminal location appeared to a character in need and offered them specifically tea in the Unsleeping City and Kitchen, I would have at least three nickels. Also the liminal location in "Moonlight Shadow" is a bridge over a river, which is traditionally a powerful symbol and also something that holds significance in Unsleeping City geography and lore.
In "Moonlight Shadow," a young man in mourning for his girlfriend wears her clothes every day after her death. I'd like to show Ricky Matsui this bit and hear his thoughts on it because of how he has taken on some of Kugrash's role. Ricky feels pressure from other parties as well, the Questing Blade and the Peasant's Sword, to carry on a legacy (that is symbolized by something one wears or carries).
I think that's all the thoughts I have about it for now, except that I seem to remember a line in "Moonlight Shadow" about a cloudy sky hanging heavy like stone, which might characterize the emotional state of New York in Chapter Two as well.
I'd like to know Pete's (and Ally Beardsley's) thoughts on Eriko as a character, and also if they talked to any of the other people in the season's production about the similarity of themes between the book and the series. If anyone has thoughts they'd like to share about this or about Kitchen in general, please do let me know! I vibrate whenever I get to discuss parallels between different media I'm into.
Geeking out about Arknights, again. This time let me start from the utmost starting point... Introducing this game's vast, vast universe.
Tumblr media
Here we are, the world of Terra. In Terra, the concept of normal humans (homo sapiens) doesn't really exist. Instead we have numerous races of humans, the term humans just refer to people as a whole. Most of the races are just anthropomorphic humans with animal-like features (or just full on furry or even scaly) . I once mentioned the Sarkaz being inspired by demons. We have Felines (self-explanatory), Ursus (Bears), Sankta (angels, they don't have feathery wings but most do have a halo), Liberi (birds), Perro (Dogs), Aegir (Sea animals as a whole), Zalaks (Rodents), Caprinae (Goats), Elafia (deers), Vulpo (Foxes), Lupos (Wolves), Cautus (rabbits), a lot more. I'd be here until tomorrow if I list them all. Of course, not limited to irl animals, we do have races that are based on fictional or supernatural beings.
Btw, miss Specter your beloved is an Aegir and she's based on a now extinct shark species. The type with a round saw blade lower tooth.
The thing about Terra is that the development of it revolves around a fictional crystalline ore called Originium. It's described to be black and semi-transclucent. It's a major source of energy and powers a lot of stuff. Nitrocellulose and gunpowder do not exist, and guns are operated by Originium.
In Terra, there are many natural catastrophes called, well, Catastrophes. Those include, but not limited to, hurricanes, volcano eruptions, sandstorms, hail, sometimes meteor showers. They happen in unpredictable timings, and always leave destruction where they sweep across. That's why the people of Terra developed Nomadic Cities, cities that are built on vehicles that, upon receiving prior predictions of a Catastrophe, would be able to move out of the danger zone.
After a Catastrophe, there remains Originium.
Originium is a fantastic and important energy source, but it comes with trouble. If a person ingests or has prolonged exposure to Originium, they contract a terminal disease called Oripathy and are called, Infected. Bring Infected makes them able to use Arts, Arknights equivalent of magic, way better. But at the same time that accelerates the speed of which their Oripathy gets worse.
The Infected people are very heavily discriminated against in most countries in Terra. Some even get exiled out of their countries after contracting Oripathy, some lose their job, some are kicked from their academies. The Infected are almost treated as "monsters" in Terra.
Fun fact: Most of the countries in Terra are landlocked. The only country that is familiar with the concept of "the ocean" is Iberia and Higashi (see map above) and the concept of the ocean is completely mysterious to non-Aegirian people.
Btw, Arknights is depressing 🥹
Tumblr media
Welcome to Arknights. Maybe I'll talk about the different nations on that Terra map above sometime later hehe
Oh geezus chrust I got a whole introductory book ahahaha!
I was actually very confused and curious when you mentioned that they're largely hybrids but now you mentioning that there's no uh pure humans makes things make more sense. Also Specter is a shark?! Actually you know what, it does make sense after looking at it haha
So that's why they're called Arknights, I've always been confused about that part. Does that mean that uh well do they die faster then? Is that the end game for Oripathy, like what gets worse? Do they get fucked up or smth? It's confusing why they're being discriminated against with this mini summary aha maybe I should read up on that part at least
OH BUT I LOVE THE CONCEPT OF MOBILE CITIES and how they're very much in tune with the worldbuilding in this universe instead of just, ohhh looks cool, let's do that!
Rosmontis :(( (but also my cup of tea tho hhhh sorry sweet child-)
Edit: I now know more about Oripathy.
TBHK Ch. 92: Analysis
Well. Not really. I loved this chapter, but it asks a LOT more questions than it answers. So. Most of my notes for this chapter are “things I want to keep track of for future chapter reading”.
* STILL NO SIGN OF HANAKO’S SECOND HAKUJOUDAI. Yeah, I’m going to keep talking about that until the damn thing resurfaces.
* The setting for the broadcast room has changed. It looks like it’s now somewhere you get to through the No-Place of Doors. The way the door’s lit, and the flooring around it, are like that place.
* Aww. Tsukasa took Yashiro’s ‘endless blank puzzle’! Seems to be enjoying it, too.
* I find it interesting that Sakura takes Yashiro’s eventual acquiescence as a given - but Tsukasa seems to be very uncertain as to whether Yashiro can actually take out a living yorishiro. I think it’s very like Tsukasa to want to test that up front. Even if Sumire said she’s ready to die, Yashiro has a very gentle heart and Tsukasa knows it.
* “Once they’re all destroyed you can finally go outside, Sakura”. Makes it sound a lot like Sakura is a prisoner of the Wonders, doesn’t it?
* Also worth noting here is that it’s Tsukasa asking Sakura if she has any regrets. Tsukasa studying Sakura to see if she’s got any feelings at all. I just want y’all to take a moment to consider how fucked up that situation is. Also, “that would hurt someone, or something.” I’m coming back to that.
* Black speech bubble, font change...the Entity? Possibly talking through Tsukasa?
* Okay. Sakura has been around for over 100 years. She claimed, back at the tea party, to be a human. But she’s perfectly all right with a wish that could potentially destroy everything, if she can only leave the school. I’m...inclined to think she may be one of the sacrificed kannagi, or some kind of amalgam entity. She may also be the original student from whom the “Hanako-san of the Toilet” legend came - it would explain her claim to be human, along with her longevity as a spirit, since her tangential connection to the rumors would keep her bound to the near shore.
* NATSUHIKO WHAT EVEN ARE YOU. No, really, I want someone with more grounding in Japanese folklore to take a serious stab at this. We know he’s loyal (to his chosen Lady). We know he’s a flirt and a braggart. We know he’s a trickster, and ‘more a lover than a fighter’ but very hard to injure or kill. Anyone want to take a stab at what he might be, that he’s genuinely not concerned about the supernatural world and the physical world doing a complete overlap?
* I’m just gonna say it...the fact that NONE OF THE BROADCAST TRIO have any concern whatsoever about Mitsuba’s yorishiro suggests that either Mitsuba’s control over Three’s powers are not connected to that yorishiro, or that the Trio think Mitsuba isn’t going to in any way be a problem when it comes time to destroy that yorishiro. And damn, it’s cold of them to pretend to be his friend when apparently this entire time they were thinking of destroying that yorishiro.
* SIX HAS A NAME...and it’s “Twilight”. I shall refrain from any snickering, and instead consider that it’s strange for him to be there, since that’s not where he died. Unless he’s not quite dead yet. After all, his yorishiro still exists, and so apparently does his domain. Maybe he’d recover, given time? I’m looking forward to finding out if this affects Sumire’s willingness to die.
* Oh man. I am so curious what One’s yorishiro is going to be.
Part two of my Steddie Twilight AU (Part One Here)
So Eddie is biting Chrissy and Steve is just... standing there losing his goddamn mind because he doesn't know if Eddie is a good vampire or a bad vampire yet and the evidence is pointing to him maybe trying to kill Chrissy. So Steve does the only logical thing he can think of and picks up a nearby lamp and hits Eddie with it.
Except Eddie is a vampire and the lamp literally bends around him. (Which would be really funny if someone wasn't bleeding out on his uncle's floor.)
Annoyed and equally as freaked out as Steve is, Eddie just looks at him and tells him that he's free to fight him later but right now they need to focus on saving Chrissy. It's the first time that Steve has seen Eddie lose his cool and he agrees to help. (Mostly because he doesn't want Chrissy to die but also because Eddie looks so scared and Steve feels bad for him.)
Cut to them in Eddie's van. Steve is driving while Eddie sits in the back with Chrissy and gives directions. They end up at an animal shelter on the outskirts of town run by the local vet, Joyce Byers and her sons.
Turns out Joyce Byers knows all about the supernatural shit in Hawkins. Probably more than anymore really. Because when he was younger, Will disappeared for a week and saw some shit he shouldn't have seen. Bad shit. Supernatural shit. He's only alive because Eddie found him in the middle of the woods while out hunting and brought him home and he's never been the same since. (Werewolf Will Byers? Maybe.)
And she's eternally grateful for Eddie bringing Will back so she helps as much as she can. Mostly that means letting Eddie use basements under the shelter because they're pure concrete and perfect for the newly turned vampire. (Why are there tunnels of concrete rooms under an animal shelter? Good question, more on that later.)
So while Eddie is down in the basements with Chrissy, Steve is upstairs with Joyce Byers trying to come to terms with his whole world being turned upside down. (She makes him hot chocolate and tries to answer as many questions as she can but her knowledge is kind of limited outside of general facts.)
A little later, Nancy Wheeler turns up after arriving at Eddie's and finding a blood-soaked carpet. She is thoroughly unimpressed that her ex-boyfriend is now involved in this whole mess. But it's good that she does turn up because Eddie might be alright with newborn vampires but he's shit at talking to people. Especially people who he has a crush on. So Nancy has to be the one to explain what's going on.
Big reveal: Eddie and Nancy are both vampires turned by an old vampire named Henry Creel. Henry has been terrorising Hawkins for as long as anyone can remember and is the one behind the latest string of murders. He's powerful and smart and neither Eddie nor Nancy know how to stop him. But they do know that he's looking for someone and they're hoping that person might be the key to killing him. (In this AU no one knows El exists but Max, Will, and Hopper. More on that later)
Bigger Reveal: Eddie is a huge dork who spends the whole time Nancy is explaining watching Steve with big, sad puppy dog eyes because he's scared that 1) Steve is going to be disgusted and think Eddie is a monster, and 2) Steve is going to have an aneurysm because, uh, he hasn't blinked in five whole minutes.
But Steve does, in fact, recover and takes approximately a second before insisting that he help them take Henry down. Because there are people in this town that he needs to protect and a vampire or not, he's got a duty to look after Nancy (and Eddie) and that means taking out Henry.
I've always believed Will was Henry's target all along, too. The only thing I need clarity about is when and how Henry learned about Will's existence, powers and potential. Do you have any theory about it? I've thought about Lonnie taking Will to the lab (c0nversion therapy vibes) in the guise of baseball or Henry seeing/detecting Will in the woods (or in Castle Byers) before he was banished by El, but I' not satisfied with either option yet.
Ciao, anon! This is one of the biggest mysteries of the story. I talk about it here and I think in other posts, too. You can find them here .
I thought about Lonnie taking Will to the lab and Henry (and El?) seeing him there. And, even if Brenner thought he was just a normal kid, Will could've done or said something that made Henry realise he has powers. (EDIT: I now think Will’s powers weren’t activated until he arrived in the UD, so I don’t know how Henry could’ve noticed them. Something about him being sensitive to certain things?)
I really don't know. There are cameras everywhere in the lab. And if Henry had showed any interest in Will, then wouldn’t Will vanishing the very night the gate opened be a bit suspicious? But in S1 Brenner didn't care about Will at all. In 1x08, when a woman asked him: "What if they find the boy?" he answered: "They won't". He just wanted to find El. And them knowing how to make a perfect replica of Will's body, one of the reasons people think he was at the lab at some point, could just mean that the government knew everything about the people in Hawkins. In fact, we know they listened to every phone call. Plus, if Will was brought to the lab, it must’ve happened when he was younger. So he looked different from when he got kidnapped. I know people could say that it's S1 and the Duffers said they wrote the story of the UD and the mythology of the show in S2, so everything is possible. I get it. It is possible. But it's not like the events of S1 have no meaning at all. And the Duffers said that Henry was always the villain. In S4 we saw many callbacks. El killing with the head tilt in S1 just like Henry does in S4 and the lab kid turning on the lights in the same way Will did in his bedroom, when Holly was there. So I think they would've at least hinted at something about Will and the lab in S4, maybe when El was with Brenner. But we'll see. Maybe Lonnie brought Will there, because he thought Brenner and the other doctors could fix Will’s queerness like Virginia wanted Brenner to fix Henry. I just think other theories make more sense.
This is my theory. EDIT : I believe that all the people with powers are connected to the UD. Specifically, to the powerful being that lives there (or even conquered that world that now seems dead) The Mind Flayer. I think all the powers come from it. When he was a kid, Henry Creel communicated with this being probably because the veil between the worlds was thinner in his house, and since he was special, a sensitive child (sensitive to powers) this contact made him acquire many abilities. Then we know that all the powers of the people Brenner experimented on come from Henry. Terry’s, El’s, Kali’s. As for Will. He’s like Henry. Not a lab kid. He was sensitive too and when he arrived in the UD, he acquired powers.
The evidence of all this is El sending Henry to the UD without even knowing that place existed. The lights when she remembers her mom imo mean that she was remembering her connection to those powers. The reason Project Nina was created. The MF’s bite/toxin had interrupted her connection to her powers. So they made her remember it in her past. The Mind Flayer is a cosmic being with supernatural abilities, like an alien plant or mushroom that wants to spread into other worlds with its spores and vines. We know for a fact that Henry didn’t create them. They were there when El opened the gate, like they were waiting for Henry. And Henry only shaped the spores that were in the sky. Then he became Vecna by merging with the vines. I don’t know if the Mind Flayer is evil. After all, spiders, viruses or mushrooms aren’t evil but they’re definitely dangerous. We know what those vines do.
So back to question. How Henry could know about Will. If he didn’t see him at the lab, it is possible that he sensed him just like he and the MF sensed each other when he was a kid.
That's how. Now Let's talk about the when. Henry told El that after she banished him, he just had to wait for her to open a door. He knew it was just a matter of time, because El was still with Brenner and Henry knew Papa very well. He knew he would've tried to find him. But waiting for El to open a gate doesn't mean just sitting there, watching floating rocks. A man like Henry wants to be ready, to have a plan. So I think that, after he found the MF and, like he said, he became the predator he thought he was born to be, he started to spy on Brenner and El. And he made El find the Demogorgon. It's totally in character for him. He spied on a lot of people in S4, and at the end of S2 we see the Mind Flayer looming over the school, probably spying on both Will and El.
So, I think Henry sensed Will, somewhere between 1979 and 1983, while he was spying on Brenner and El from the Upside Down. This would be important, because so far the show has only explored Henry and El parallels. If Henry has spied on this sensitive kid, who loves drawing and feels different, he would think they're alike, just like he thought he and El were. I guess they could just say he sensed him when the gate opened and then attacked him. But I really hope Will and Henry have a long history, too. : )
What do you think?
Supernatural Season 9
Tumblr media
Sam oh noooooo 😥😭
He really said lemme die in peace. But Dean won’t let him go.
OML the forces of Heaven and Hell really fucked up this man’s life.
Kevin survived season 8 - woo! I know he not gonna make it to the end tho 😑
Charlie’s still around too, but is she gonna make it to the bitter end 🫥
Crowley’s locked up - its about time honestly. He is long overdue for some karma after what he put poor Kevin through. I'd be happy about Abaddon giving him shit but she's no better.
Tumblr media
I know Dean did not just kick Castiel out😣🤬without so much as money or food or any necessities.🤬🤬🤬🤬
Tumblr media
Oh heeeeeeeeeeeeell noooooooo. That son of a bitch!!!!!! 😠😡🤬🤬🤬Poor Cas looked so devastated. Bendito. You could pinpoint the exact moment his heart broke in half.
Poor guy had to rough it on the streets all alone, you don't just do that damn. He could've just sent him somewhere to stay like a friend's or a shelter.
Sam was all dazed and confused he had no idea what was going on afterwards. Dean you can't keep lying!!!! This man is so dumb!!!!
Not the angel that saved Sam's life turning to be bad :/
UGH I hate Metatron he is the WORST! Why do people keep listening to such a jackass?! And what he doesn't have the stomach to do his own dirty work?
Tumblr media
KEVIN NOOOOOOOOOOOO
KEVIN - you deserved the best of everything! This one hurt me the worst y'all 😨😢😭😭😭😭
Is Dean allergic to good decision making?!?!?!?!!? After his latest fight with Sam, he fucks off and AGREES to work with Crowley? After everything the son of a bitch put him through? I knew nothing good would come of this. Dean was actually surprised that Tess died - I mean she chose to break the demon trap when she knew herself it was a bad idea. Now Dean has to deal with the mark of Cain 😤
I did find it interesting that the show decided to put a twist on the famous Cain & Abel story and how it echoed Sam and Dean's story. But there was no angel for Cain when he sacrificed himself, or his brother Abel.
Who knows how many other pairs of brothers throughout history were put in the same position across time? Cain and Abel were among the first humans…I don't think since the dawn of human existence it was just Cain and Abel then Sam and Dean. Not for a second. Especially with what we learn later…
Man Dean just gets douchier and douchier. With everyone, even Sam and Castiel. My God.
Abaddon died…yay? That Crowley son of a bitch. First he fucks Dean up, shoots up human blood ….recreatively? And strands his son out in present day despite the fact he was just in 1723. Will we even see Gavin again?
Man I really do not care for Metatron, I cannot wait till he dies. I mean I guess he’s pushing the narrative forward some but jeez what a douche.
Dean died nooooo
Then he became a demon…NOOOOOOOOOOOO
And he’s gonna be with Crowley
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Tumblr media
While the Dean and Castiel scenes got some good stuff going - Cas losing his powers and becoming mortal - why couldn’t he be picked up? The way these guys constantly drive around the country: If Dean really wanted to assure Cas was safe from any avenging angels post fall, he’s only a car ride away 😔
Anyway, kicking Cas out was a douchey thing to do but it made for good drama. As did having the two reunite a few episodes later.
There’s also the apology scene and them working together on cases, but after Dean gets the mark of Cain and Castiel gets pulled back into the angel stuff, their stories detract from one another. Dean does see Castiel again towards the end of the season but by that point he’s totally affected by the mark and Castiel is once again mixed up in angel shit so he doesn’t really get any quality time with Dean for more than half the season. It’s a shame because Dean probably could’ve used more time with his angel friend, given what the mark was putting him through. Oh, well.
Hi! Love your theories! Mine are changing and evolving, so it's good to read other people amazing analyses. It really helps.
Every day I find new things, references and parallels... Like, ST Mind Flayer is more like the Serpent in D&D, an ancient being, depicted as a serpent made of cloud and lightning, who whispers in Vecna's ear, telling him the secrets of lichdom. Also depicted wrapped around Vecna (the vines!) It's basically the very embodiment of magic/power. And imo, it's the source of all the powers in ST, from the moment Henry and his mom sensed it at the Creel House and their abilities were activated. They were like Force sensitive, lol? That's why Brenner would've never let Henry go. When El remembers her mom, for example, those strange clouds/colors she sees are the same we see a minute later, when Henry gets banished in the UD. Imo, El was remembering the very source of her powers. Then there's Will's name on Henry's grandfather clock... the damn neck tingle, the Soteria and the electric shock collars. It's always the neck!
But after all these months, I'm still not sure: why does Henry want Will? He must have some power, right? Maybe Henry needs it like he needed El's? Some space-time manipulation power Henry could use to rebuild the world? Or Will is like Bastian of the Neverending Story and can shape things permanently while Henry can only shape things temporarily or create illusions?
I'm very curious. What do you think?
It we're talking strictly supernatural, it's possible that Henry needs Will for something more creation-based, the same way El is the only one who can open gates on her own. I can also see the argument for this Serpent character, but that doesn't fit with the fact that Henry is more similar to an Ilithid mind flayer than he is to the actual Vecna character. Brenner is actually more similar to the actual Vecna character, and I talk about that in a post titled "Henry, Brenner, and DnD Lore", which is available in my pinned link library. Essentially, by absorbing the numbers, Henry boosts himself to Vecna-levels and becomes an almost-Vecna, which by your addition re: the serpent, would allow him to commune with such a creature. The contradicting fact is that the Shadow Monster couldn't reach Henry, and Henry couldn't reach it, without an open gate. Like...that's canon. No open gates, as far as we know, existed before 1979, and Henry simply isn't strong enough to reach the Shadow Monster before he's banished through that same gate in 1979.
So...It's possible that that's all there is to it if the Duffers started throwing in gotcha details, but, imo...it's not a complete fit, and it's not very narratively satisfying.
Per aemiron-main and my analyses, it's believed that Virginia knew about Henry because she knows herself. He's his mother's son. His powers had to come from somewhere, and we know the Shadow Monster can't reach into the RSU without an open gate nearby. Henry most likely got his powers from his mother, which is (among other reasons) why she was having him sent away. She, like Brenner, wanted to control him. Brenner absolutely wants Henry for his abilities, and double-crossed Virginia to get him with no strings attached. Brenner is also subtextually a pedophile, which is actually quite important narratively. There's a lot to unpack there, but if you look for the Montauk subset of MKULTRA, you'll figure out a lot of what you need to know there. I also have a collaborative post with heroesbyler linked in my pinned link library under "Mamas and Papas: Spiders, Flowers, and Bathtubs". Brenner has so many weird attachments to both Henry and El, and all of them revolve around being able to abuse them until they're brainwashed, and then harness and wield their powers vicariously. His inability to let Henry and El go centers around all these weird attachments. I talk about that more in another part of my pinned post titled "Stranger Things: Absorption, Ghosts, and Loss of Self". The source of El's powers, much like Henry's, is her mother. Now, whether Terry had latent powers that were activated by MKULTRA or her powers were already presenting before then...who knows. All we know is that for El and Henry, at least, the powers are most likely genetic. It's true, it's all in the neck, but it's not necessarily all linked to the Shadow Monster. I'd wager it's more likely that they're linked to each other via Henry. Henry has been shocked before by those collars, he had Soteria, and he was the one responsible for either giving Will his spidey-sense or awakening his spidey-sense. Now, we know that Henry canonically absorbs everyone he kills into his mind. We also know that he's very closely paralleled to Will. I'd argue that if Will didn't innately have powers (which he likely does based on ST1), then Henry inadvertently gave him powers when Will died and came back in the UD. Either way, they're so similar narratively that we can draw the conclusion that Will might at this point in time have the same regenerative/healing abilities as Henry, which is all linked to Henry's neck via the collars and Soteria. It's all the same web.
Now, why I think Henry wanted El to join him has nothing to do with her supernaturally. It's all very human, actually, and I've laid it all out in a different link on my pinned link library titled "ST4: Stories by Proxy". Essentially, it all centers around the fact that based on a lot of the canon pieces which indicate that Henry was never responsible for the Creel massacre in the first place, and that he may actually experience a fair amount of guilt over Alice's death. It continues deeper with "Stranger Things: Siblings, Love, Sacrifice, and Guilt" (also pinned!). This ties into why he's so fixated on Will. He sees his younger self in Will, which I talk about in part 3 of the last pinned post I mentioned. At first it's a twisted idea of freeing/saving as a moral disguise for his abuse of Will in search of power, and then that turns to jealousy/obsession in ST2 once he realizes Will has everything he ever wanted. We also have to hold in mind that Henry didn't display the tendencies and behavior that he does not until after the massacre has begun. His behavior shifts as he absorbs the minds of the people he kills, the same people who abused him mentally, physically, and likely sexually throughout his life. I also talk about this in "Stranger Things: Absorption, Ghosts, and Loss of Self". He's warped by the people he absorbs, so he does terrible things while hiding behind his original self's moral code of saving/freeing.
I think his desire for Will as a little to do with powers and a lot to do with his own mental state, and I think we're going to see that play out as they interact in ST5. Pre-Massacre Henry is not as bad as he and the audience have been lead to believe by Brenner, who skips months of footage to give El a certain image of Henry, and who is part of MKULTRA, which is known for breaking people's memories down and building them up "stronger" to create brainwashed soldiers (I talk about this in "MKULTRA: Man-Made Monsters", also in my pinned).
Henry's retelling is arguably less reliable than Victor's, and Victor is in an insane asylum.
Either way, I think the main reason why Will has been targeted again and again is because he's narratively identical to young Henry. This makes him stand out like a beacon to Broken, No Longer Henry in the UD. It also means he's the best shot at reaching the core of Henry and orchestrating his defeat. I talk about this in my two most recent posts, which are the bottom two links in the "main meal" section of my pinned.
